Meet Liisa

Hai y'all! :hello: My name is Lisa and I am one of your Mods of the Month for October. I've been a proud member of SS since 2008 and a staff member for the last 9 terms. Currently, I hold the position of Hogwarts Librarian in the School RPG. ^_^

At home, I'm a wife and mother with two beautiful daughters and WAY too many pets. I work full-time as an Executive Assistant but LOVE to fill my free time (however much I can scrounge up) here on SS. If you'd like to know more about me... Ask away.

Thanks for stopping by. I'm looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi! :hello: Nice to meet you. ^_^

I have a question! How did you get to Harry Potter fandom? Is it through your daughters? Or are they too young to read it and you just love reading and came across it accidentally like the rest of us? :D

RachieRu 10-01-2011 03:43 PM

Got it in one! I stole the books from my daughter one night when I was bored and between books of my own. Read 1-5 in a week. Then I was hooked for life. I found SS a few years later. That time I was bored at work. I see a pattern forming. ;)

Nice to meet you, too!

Wonderstruck 10-01-2011 05:11 PM

:hello: It's nice to meet you ^_^

First off: I am really jealous that you own a turtle. In the state I live in it is illegal to own turtles *sigh*

As for my question: Who is your favorite character to hate in the Harry Potter series?

Erindipity 10-01-2011 07:31 PM

Lisa. Lisa. Lisa. Lisa. Lisa. Lisa. Lisa.

Hi!

Heh.

Which is > ?

Me or Stewie Griffin?

Now on to a REAL question.

Would you rather live in Hawaii or Kennesaw? Remember.. one has a ME nearby while the other does NOT. Choose wisely.

Bella_Granger 10-01-2011 09:18 PM

Do you talk about the fictional people on SS with your girls?

Steelsheen 10-02-2011 01:16 AM

oh yes ze question....

Sal: Why is Kimber so hot?

ok, real question: of all the charries you've played here on SS, which was the most fun to play and/or your favorite?

Nordic Witch 10-02-2011 02:13 PM

Do you have any favourite authors?

Alumna 10-02-2011 02:16 PM

Hi Lisa, nice to meet you.

Also, getting a passport might help. ;)

Aww, that's not fair. Where do you live?

Hmm... that's a good question. I really never hated any of them. (I'm weird like that, I know) But I have to pick one... I guess I disliked Dudley Dursley. I always felt the need to slap him.

HI! :shifty:

CLEARLY it's you. No question.

Actually... for the longest time my answer would have been Hawaii. I miss it so much. It's gorgeous, of course, and none of the typical family drama ever seemed to reach us out there. But it's SOOOOOOOOO far away. And I had terrible island fever by the time we left.

Also, now that I've been in Georgia for so long - what's it been? 10 years, I think - this is my home. And we're happy here so I'd have to choose here. Besides, you're here so all the better, right?! :loved:

LOL All the time, actually. My girls know most of the charries that I RP with most often. In fact, if there's an Eric Bana movie on or Ryan Reynolds, you can always hear my littlest daughter say, "Oh look! Chad/Jeremy's on tv!" ^_^

OMG I know, right?! I LOVED that graphics Lisa made for me to go with them too. :eyebrows: Mmmm, Sam Worthington! What IS it about Australian men that makes me so weak in the knees?

Kimber: Ahem... *glares*

Honestly, I'm sort of a combination of all of my charries (and yes, that even includes Victor) so it's hard for me to choose. Usually, my favorite to play is that one that most captures my mood for the day. Though I do miss Astrid Deschain the most. She was the most fun to play.

My absolute FAVORITE author is Stephen King. I think he's brilliant. Read the Dark Tower series and you'll know why.

Lovely to meet you! ^_^

Sirius Black, hands down. I loved the pride he had for being the only Black sorted into Gryffindor and his relationship with Harry. I cried very hard when we lost him. :(

I'll jump on the bandwagon and ask you about Stephen King. And more specifically if, like me, you developped a deep defiance (which was actually a phobia when I was a teenager) against clowns after reading King?

And also... do you prefer novels he wrote as Richard Bachman or Stephen King?

My answer to that would be King's novels ("It" is my all time favourite)

I DO love you, I really do! lol

*eyes you* Leave my baby alone. He just wants you to wake up with the rest of us. :glomp:

Of course I'd want them here. Actually, Ali HAS joined. She's a puff. She hasn't RPed in well over a year because, as you well know, she's far too busy to hang out with us. *scoffs* But when she did, it was great. She even attended my lessons. :P

OMG I so do. It's on my HUGE To Do list, trust me.

My favorite subject(s) - can't just choose one - were Math, History and Science. All the fun ones. ;)

Holla! Where in Atlanta? I mean... oops! These are supposed to be questions for me, not you. I got carried away.

My all time favorite Stephen King story is not a book but a series called The Dark Tower. It is simply amazing. Took him nearly 30 years to write all 7 books but it was well worth the wait and you can actually see how his literally style matured as he did.

Anne Rice... Well, I love what I've read but I must admit, I've only read one of her books. Maybe I should check her out again.

Well... I don't always manage my time all that well. As you can see, it took me far too long to find a quick minute to even post here. ^_^
But my girls are older and my job is fun so when I get home, I'm not desperately tired. And since I'm not willing to give up my beloved SS, I guess we just make it work.

Nice to meet you, Entropist. You and I... we could talk for HOURS about this subject. ^_^ I ADORE Stephen King. I started reading him when I was 11 years old. I think Tommyknockers was the first one for me. (which I don't exactly think is anywhere near his top 10) But I liked it well enough to read the rest.

Haha, no. Pennywise never frightened me. It takes A LOT to do that. I was a bit disappointed when I saw "IT" finally because I had already read the book and so much was left out. (And yeah, that sounds like me after I watch any HP movie, so just forget I said anything) ;)

Hmm... *thinks* I love them both but I guess since Bachman books take me somewhere darker it really depends on my mood. For example, The Long Walk STILL gives me chills no matter how many times I read it. But then again, I'm weird. LOL I think of Firestarter every time I turn on my garbage disposal. *shudders* And while I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, I read The Shining and had nightmares every night about roque mallets. It was unpleasant. :lmao:

Let's see... My favorites so far have to be The Dark Tower IV: Wizard and Glass and The Talisman.

Wow... I talk a lot. *shuts up*

BanaBatGirl 10-06-2011 03:02 AM

Lol! I don't mind telling you. I'm up in Dunwoody...and it's completely boring.

Thank MERLIN for SnitchSeeker!!

O.o That's the one thing from him I have not read. I'd have to say IT! is one of my favorites...Although the movie they made for it freaks me out something awful.

Yea, I love Anne Rice's writing style. I love the Vampire Chronicles...and Lestat. I'm not sure what your take is on the whole vampire thing...but her novels are definitely worth a read.

...And to slip another question in so this post will be relevant!

"What's your favorite ride at Six Flags?"

ScarletFlames 10-07-2011 12:23 AM

How are your daughters like? Are they like you? What is their hobbies? What do you like most about them?
