Meet Charely Potter!

Hi everybody! My name is Joel and I'm excited to be your Meet the Mod for the month of November! :loveskip:

I was introduced to Harry Potter by my friends in the sixth grade who convinced me to checked out the books in 2001/2002. Instantly, I became a huge fan and breezed through the four books just in time as the first movie was out on VHS for me to rent and watch. Shortly after I played the video game on PS1 and that hunger for the Harry Potter world only increased as I browsed many dedicated fan sites, eventually landing on Snitchseeker in 2003. I was attracted to the RPG concept in going to Hogwarts through the use of my own characters created. But mainly of course for connecting with others who shared the same interest in the whole Harry Potter series.

My very first character Charely Potter, was sorted into the house of Hufflepuff which I stayed in for many terms enough to where his son, Wade Potter served as the Hufflepuff Head Boy in his class. Charely's grandsons, Tad (RIP) & Darius were sorted in Ravenclaw and Slytherin respectively and continued the family's Quidditch-loving tradition.

On SS, I've worn a few hats previously as Head Boy, Quidditch Captain, Assistant Shopkeeper, Shopkeeper, CoMC Professor, Groundskeeper, Head of House, and Flying Instructor. Currently, I play as the DADA Professor, Adom Madigan, in his second term. Along with playing as Slytherin student Caes Hawkins, who is the biological grandson to my 2nd SS-created character Paul Hawkins and with two characters in the Ministry of Magic.

Outside Snitchseeker, I live in Florida close with my family, working as a Data Analyst. I love drawing, playing video games, creating characters (on the daily), listening to music, writing, swimming, re-watching 90's TV shows & 80's action movies and so much more!

Now then before I ramble any longer, feel free to ask me some questions.

Haai Jess :loved: I've actually been here for all but 3 years of my life, hehe xD

1. Probably Quidditch Captain, not just because I got to have a Captain Kirk :xd: but it was such a cool icon to sport.

2. I have so many fond memories with Wade, especially during his final year as Head Boy. The Bladger parties, Wade/Alec's towel fight, Wade/Minnie and Windy moments. The Hufflepuff parties. So we're going with that.

3. At the moment, I'd like to work from home just so I'd have more time on SS  but otherwise, I feel most creative at home. So I'd love to be able to do art commissions and maybe being a video game streamer if it paid well enough since that's where my passion lies the most.

4. Ahh, this one is a simple and not so simple answer to me. :xd: It depends on my mood, I either feel like a true Hufflepuff or a true Gryffindor, since some of their quirks blend in (hard-working, heart on sleeve, some risky decisions, a little strong on their opinions or delivery, etc.) On all online quizzes I take I usually get Hufflepuff, Gryffindor or sometimes Ravenclaw. Depending on which SS character I'm playing currently will influence it as well... but at the moment, yes, definitely a Hufflepuff.

1. Definitely writer's block or in SS's case where my character may have no idea on how to respond or continue. Like reaching a dead end and deciding on whether to continue construction or permanately close off the road. Usually if that occurs I'll take a break, focus on other things and wait on an inspiration to occur so it can continue there or in another scenario. ^_^ But the best for me is talking it over with the other Rper on the aftermath so the next scenarios builds off of it.

2. Most recent one I can think of is the Treehouse where Caes/Aria had a race climbing up and gaining a new friend in the young Gryffindor Luther where they learn that they all share the same past of not having biological parents around and grow close from it.

3. Christmas! Since it feels like a whole season while Halloween has a month leadup and then ends immediately after.

4. Aw, it's mutual. :loveattack: Along with your epic drawing session of Seamus and his... explosions

Joel! :x3: I love these Meet your Mod threads and so excited you're hosting!

1) I see you're a gamer! What is currently your favorite game??
2) I am a big big fan of all the graphics you make for everyone! Where do you usually find your inspiration for creating?

Chellie! :x3:

1. Goodness, I have sooo many favorite games. At the moment, I'm playing the new God of War Ragnarok and loving it on my PS5. On PC I'm enjoying an old favorite The Sims 2 with the new Story Progression mod in the Pleasantville Neighborhood. But my ultimate favorite game of all time is still Metal Gear Solid on the PS1.

2. :loved: Aw, thank you! While listening to my music I'll get inspired by some other people's designs like sweetpinkpixie, Suziella, etc. or go through some of my older works and see how else I could expand from it.

Hellooo there Joel! Hope you are having a fantabulous day! :hello:

I have two questions:
  1. Are there any RP scenarios that you want to play but never had the chance?
  2. If you could RP in another universe, which universe would it be?

Looking forward to RP with you more in the future. :woot:

Buuut, I have a few more questions!

1. How did you discover your love for graphics making?
2. Do you have a comfort movie/show? If so, what are they?

Potterhead1987 11-13-2022 02:50 PM

1. Do you like the weather in Florida?
2. What kind of art do you draw?

Hey Onur! My day's been great, thanks for asking!

1. Hmm... good question, I feel like maybe more centered with younger kids before Hogwarts I haven't had enough experience with. Whether it's them being a part of their parent's rp or just hanging out with other kids. I remember one event when Kirk was 8 or 9 at finding out his personality as he bounced off his dad and the other kids was fun to rp out. :D
2. This is another good question. I'm thinking probably the universe in the classic game, Final Fantasy VIII. There's some shared similarities of Harry Potter with the characters depending on their region go to a specific school where they train learning magic from a young age to adulthood, facing an ultimate test in order to graduate and starting their new lives. I could totally fit a character training at Balamb Garden with their set of friends going on an adventure to save mankind.

SUZY! :loveskip:

1. We're practically neighbors! I was originally from Miami but have moved around the state a lot (and the three years out of state when I was a kid). I live in the Central region currently not too far from the Theme Parks.
2. I've lost count to be honest, majority being in Disney (Typhoon Lagoon, Animal Kingdom, had a Senior Prom take place in one of the hotels, etc.). There was one center I can't remember the name of one in the southern region where I was in a set lifted by crane simulated being in Space when I was 10. I've still yet to go to Universal Studios, unfortunate timing has kept me at bay but is on my bucket list.... So my favorite is Disney long story short. :xd:

3. :rotfl: The amount of times I choked during the rest of the game then, hahaha!

*returning the giant hugglepuff hugs*

This will never end :rotfl:

1. Being on multiple forums online I've admired the designs people have created. Once I finally was introduced to Photoshop and taught the basics I used it mainly on coloring my drawings after scanning them before making graphic images in general. On SS, Wade was my first "test subject" on making graphics when I returned in 2012 and I went crazy on making many for him, a few dozen that I've never worn for him.
2. I tend to eat while re-watching older shows like A Different World, Ready or Not. I also like re-watching the first Terminator movie, Speed, and Escape From New York are the first to pop in my head.

1. For the most part yes, I love the warm climate, the feeling after leaving a freezing office building to then be greeted with the warm air is the best. The downsides of course are the occasional hurricanes and the times it gets below 40 Fahrenheit can feel extreme compared to the usual 60-90 range.
2. I draw other original characters of mine that were first created when I was a kid (before SS) and periodically age them up with me and draw how they would currently look.
