Professor Rae clapped her hands to get everyone's detention. "Very nice work, students. I'm pleased with the skills you've shown. Older students, thank you for your initiative. Younger students, you've done a nice job mastering some of the most basic spells. Let me give you your homework, and then I'll tell you about a surprise.

First, the homework. I would like you to write a paragraph on your progress with one of the defensive spells we practiced today. Older students who have previously mastered these spells, you can look into a new spell. I'm confident you can find something that interests you. Write 5 to 8 sentences, telling me about the incantation, the uses of the spell, and how you are doing with it. It is due February 3rd.

The other bit of information is that I will be opening a dueling room. It is to be monitored by myself and by the prefects. You will be able to duel with anyone using the spells we've been practicing, as well as practice on objects in the room. You may NOT try out a spell randomly, nor may you curse someone without their permission. It will be heavily monitored. I'll open the room tomorrow, and all the rules will be listed. Now, you're dismissed."

Emil watched as the Gryffindor house prefect, Serena, approach him and asked to be his partner. At that time, his mind was deeply concentrated on practicing that he wasn't able to respond quickly. He then realized that someone wanted to practice with him a few moments later, but when he looked up, she had gone. She had gone off to find a new partner, and it seemed that they were already practicing the spell. He decided to approach them. Though they were concentrated in practicing, he gave a sort of coughing sound to make his presence known and mouthed to Serena, "Hi, er... can I practice with you afterwards?"

However, Professor Rae announced the conclusion of the class just before he could get an aswer. He was a bit disappointed with not having a go at practicing, but he's kinda looking forward to the "Dueling Room" which the professor mentioned. He promised himself he will be visiting that place soon. He placed his wand in the front pocket of his robes, then he took his bag as he bid farewell to the professor, "Thank you for the lesson, professor." He then decided to return to the common room to tell his house mates about the homework.

Francis nodded. Looking at Kay, she stated, "See you at the Dueling Club? I'm going to go and post the homework in our Common Room.. See you later!"
