The Domes

A little way off the path between the castle and the lake stand several half-sphere outdoor shelters, known as the domes. Made from a sturdy and clear, charmed material that keeps the temperature inside relatively comfortable, and the air fresh, the main purpose of the domes is a location to hang out, alone or with a few friends. They also serve as impromptu shelters during sudden downpours, cool relief from the summer heat, or a place to warm benumbed fingers and toes during bitingly cold winters. Each is accessible by a simple door made of the same material. No need to reserve them - just make sure no one is already there before entering!

The domes are near to each other, but not clustered too close together. They are completely transparent; those outside can see in, and those inside can see out. Occupied domes will light up - though the light has no obvious source - useful and downright cosy on overcast or gloomy days. The groundskeeper, and any staff member looking out of the windows on this side of the castle, will be able to see the domes if they're lit up after dark, so unless you want to light the 'hey, look at me, I'm out after curfew' beacon, don't even bother coming this way. Better yet, don't break curfew at all. Javier does not take kindly to kids messing around on his grounds after curfew.

Each dome contains five comfortable chairs, and can comfortably hold as many students, maybe a couple more if you don't mind a tight squeeze. Try to refrain from seeing how many students can fit inside one of these things at once. Getting a score of kids hopelessly stuck will not have a good outcome for anyone, but it's up to you if you want to test that theory out for yourself.

Running.... it was something Tadhg did before lessons and right after dinner or before curfew came. Although he normally ran by the lake, today he decided to change it up and run along the pathways and a bit off of it but not to much to get into trouble. Sweating and breathing hard Tadhg started heading back towards the castle before he stopped looking at the domes, it was still a bit early so why not enjoy a good book to calm himself down from running? Walking into the nearest dome to him, he flopped down in one of the chairs before summoning his book to read. Enjoying the peace and quiet he started reading in peace his breathing and racing heart calming down as well.

Hey... this wasn't a bad place for reading and hanging out, now he knew why Lia liked it so much. He would have to remember to come back here for sure, a lot more quiet then the library was at times. This is what he needed, a calm place to calm down and rest from a long nice run. Lost in his own little world, he kept on reading getting a apple from his bag eating it.

Though Peeves' little boredom problem was seeing some improvement, it was clear to anyone (and mostly to himself) that he was not done yet! He had been swooping through the castle and grounds, sometimes visible, sometimes not, and bestowing his generous gifts... well... generously.

Right now, he was perfectly visible, and zooming STRAIGHT for a boy who was sitting in one of these strangle bubbles as though on display, cLEARLY an invitation to come have some fun. Peeves flew right up to the entrance, let out a sudden and glorious CACKLE, brandished his book at the boy (Tadhg) by way of granting him his Very Own Gift, and darted quickly out of the doorway. He pressed his nose up against the outside of the dome and started pulling faces at the boy inside.

Tadhg was in the middle of finishing his apple when a cackle filled the dome bubble, oh.... Merlin he knew that cackle from anywhere. What in the Phoenix Feathers was he doing now and what's up with the book? Should he dodge the book? Probably was a good idea knowing how he was and his history of dropping stuff on people's head and stuff. Trying to dodge the book or whatever Peeves had, he sighed to himself. Whatever he had planned wasn't going to be good, oh boy... what happened now!

"Peeves! What did you do?!" Merlin...didn't know anyone to be so sly and sneaky as he was. Running out of the dome he looked down and notice he blended in with everything around him, what in the world? He didn't cast the disillusionment charm on him so why was he like this? "Peeves this isn't funny, come on change me back, I got to go meet up with my girlfriend, can't go like this she can't see me!" After a few minutes he turned back to normal whoch made him sigh in relief.

"Little old Peeves?" the poltergeist replied, the pinnacle of innocent, floating up a little higher into the air as the boy... uhh... where did he- OH, yes - as the boy came running out. These students were an unpredictable lot; if they weren't willing to take swipes then they were quick on the draw with those wands. But Peeves had his magic now too. "Didn't do nothing!"

He grinned broadly, floating through the air in figures of eight and trying not to make it so obvious that he kept losing track of where the boy was. Only when he moved did his... strange little lizard camouflage flicker enough for Peeves to really be sure where he was.

Until he reappeared again - though to the boy's relief, Peeves only grinned more broadly. "Plenty more where that came from, my chameleon friend." He tipped upside down, bowtie a-spin. "It's RUDE to return a gift, after all. I'll let you enjoy it a little longer."

Tadhg didn't believe for a minute that he didn't do anything wrong, anyone and everyone knew how he was. But what did he do he didn't know, but he had to do something. He knew that Peeves wasn't up to any good whenever anyone seen him, so he had to be careful. " I know that's a lie, you're always up to no good." Watching his head and other parts of his body he looked at Peeves weirdly.

"Chameleon? Peeves what are you getting at?" He asked annoyed as he disappeared again. Gift what gift is he talking about? "What gift Peeves?" He asked looking straight at him although he didn't know if he could see him. Okay... it was cool some, but otherwise annoying at times.
