Ravenclaw Girls’ Dormitories __________________________________graphics by hermionesclone

Misa looked around. She quietly walked toward the window and looked out at the ... darkness ... nothingness. She wasn't a huge fan of that. The silk was acceptable though. She quietly took a seat on her bed and then flopped backwards looking up at her bed ceiling. "So this is home now." she said to herself. |
Her dorm was one of the things Ivy had grown to appreciate more and more over time. Especially after...erm, everything. It had been nice, for the most part, to be in her own bedroom at home over the summer, but there was something special about the dormitories that she liked too. Upon entering the fourth year dorms, she immediately spotted Misa, though she didn't quite catch what she'd said. But, with a smile, she walked over and plopped down on the edge of her own bed, which happened to be next to Misa's. "The beds are pretty comfy, yeah?" |
The girl’s dormitory was certainly an aesthetic. It was one that she could see her older sister subscribing too. The dormitories were something that Lisa thought would be found in one of those Princess picture books and being this kind of princess.... well she wasn’t exactly sure of it. It felt more Elsa than Anna and Lisa related to Anna a little more. It wasn’t personally Lisa’s style so she immediately made note of what she’d have to dig out of her trunk to decorate her little corner of the dormitory. After spending a good half an hour pulling her toys out of her trunk, she’d exuded to place both Iroh, her faithful dragon plushie, and a bright sparkly pikachu plushie on her bed. Taking a step back, she admired her work. Yes, just the right pop of colour needed to distinguish HER bed Leaving the first year area, she decided to head up the dormitory when she overheard a noise from the fourth year door. She knocked on the wood outside before peeking her head around the corner. “Knock! Knock!” she greeted Ivy and another older girl (Misa). |
Misa offered a small smile toward Ivy. It was nice that she would be living with someone that she already knew. Someone that she could see herself becoming friends with. That was a good. Her mom would be proud. "They're not bad." she said noncommittally. It was difficult for her to determine at the moment. She'd need a few nights sleep to see how she felt first. Then there was a knock. She glanced toward the door. "Oh. Um. Hi?" |
Not bad? "I guess I can accept that." Ivy grinned. She might be biased about the beds, considering...where she had slept for half of last term. But she'd also thought they were comfortable since her first year, so there was no need to think about that. They actually were really nice beds. Shifting her spot on the bed a little, she folded her legs in front of her to sit cross-legged, resting her arms on her knees just when a knock and a voice sounded from the doorway. Turning to look, she smiled upon recognizing the younger girl. "Oh, hey, Lisa! How's it going so far?" |
Lisa peeked her head in from around the corner with a bright smile. It sounded like the two older girls had been talking about beds. “Hi! Sorry to interrupt, Ivy and..... friend,” she began as she didn’t know the other girl’s name just yet but had seen her at the feast. “I’m Lisa. And you are?” Good introductions were a must so she quickly would work to resolve the name outage... And then Ivy was asking her how she was. “Um good I think not to overwhelmed. The school is pretty cool, the beds are plusher than anticipated, and the pillows seem like the perfect pillows for a pillow fight.... And you?” Oh yes, Lisa had originally debated running through the dormitory with a pillow ready to strike someone and start a fun fight. People still had pillow fights, right? “Buuut I also have quick question for you about the lay of the land and logistics.. do we actually have a ‘bed time’?” And if so, was someone going to tuck them all in?? Lisa wasn’t a fan of that concept but wanted to be prepared. |
Misa looked at the girl. Ivy called her Lisa. She looked so small. Had Misa looked so tiny when she was younger? "Misa." she said introducing herself. When the young girl mentioned a pillow fight, she grabbed her pillow and fluffed it, as if testing the validity of that statement. The word fight definitely still scared her. But they did seem optimal for said pillow engagement. She looked at Ivy at the next question. She hadn't considered that. It was a good question. Was there a curfew? |
Ivy was very happy to that Lisa seemed to be enjoying Hogwarts so far. It was how things should be. She grinned. "They are pretty awesome for that actually! You should try them out sometime." She and her other dormmates had had many a wild and competitive pillow fight over the years, and they'd always been a blast. There hadn't been...very many of them last year, and she didn't know if they'd still had them for the half of the term she wasn't allowed to be up here with them... But it was a new year now so new chances for pillow fights!! Plus Misa was here now! A new challenger to join the game! It would be fun! But now Lisa also had a question, and it looked like Misa was interested in it too. "Well there's a curfew for when we have to be in our common rooms by, but you don't have to go to bed right then." She shook her head. "You can head to bed whenever you want, but you'll still have to go to classes in the morning, so usually not great to stay up all night. Unless it's the weekend, I guess." |
Her eyes widened like WOAH. Misa rhymed with Lisa! Well kinda.... if you pronounced Misa like Mee-sah just like Leesah! “Our names rhyme!” she beamed. “Nice to meetcha!” Now to talk about plushy pillows and pillow fights which were two things that Lisa really, really liked. “Maybe we can have a pillow fight in the common room with cakes and yummy food!” She had a sudden hankering for a hot slice of pizza Lisa nodded as she listened. So a curfew to get back into the common room but no curfew for bed time. That was good to know. Very good to know if she wanted to stay up reading... “Good to know! Curfew to be back in the common room but can stay up late having a pillow fight or movie night. So it’s basically a sleepover every night but you can actually sleep.” |
Misa couldn't help but smile at the young girl. Her enthusiasm was contagious. "I'd be up for a group pillow fight." she said. "I don't know where to get yummy food though." she said looking over to Ivy. She assumed her dormmate would have some information on that. The curfew information was also nice to know. "I wonder how busy the common room is in the middle of the night." Did people group sleep in there or return to their beds or stay up all night? |
Oh, a pillow fight with everyone in the common room was a great idea! "Yeah, that'd be fun! We could probably get some food from the kitchens. The elves are usually really helpful." But then another idea occurred to her as well. "Or if we get to have Hogsmeade weekends this year, we could get snacks from there too!" That would also help make things feel like a normal year too, being able to go to Hogsmeade. It would be nice. Ivy nodded at Lisa calling it like a sleepover. It kinda was, wasn't it? Except for the school part, but still. As for how busy it normally was, she shrugged. "It depends on the night. Most of the time we all go to our dorms - or at least I do." It was certainly possible others stayed there more often and she just didn't know about it since she was in her dorm. "But sometimes people will still be in there doing some last minute homework or cramming in some studying or other things like that." |
She nodded in agreement with the older girl. Yes, pillow fights sounded amazing- she knew that!! Buuut she was super stoked that Misa would be in for one. And then Ivy mentioned she’d be up for one too. “YAY!” “Oh and we totally have to team up on my brother Evan. I’m not sure if he would participate but he needs to have more fun so I need your help. Please??” She had to do her little sister duty of making sure he was having a good time FOOD FROM THE KITCHENS AND SNACKS SOUNDED DIIIIIVINE! She bounced up and down. “Thinking of the food makes me hungry now.” She really liked the food at Hogwarts even the bread that Healer Poppy made. The melon bread was simply scrumptious. She listened to the older girls talk about the common room and thus she tilted her head as she listened. What was cramming? She wasn’t entirely sure until she put the dots together when Ivy mentioned doing last minute homework. Ohhhh. “Cramming?” she asked. “Does that happen a lot?” |
Misa made a face. "They make a drink from hogs?" she asked, completely disgusted. "Aren't those dirty pigs??" Why would some invent something like that and THEN name a place after it? "Who is Evan?" she asked. "You'll have to point him out." |
A drink from hogs? What... OH. Ivy giggled and shook her head. "Oh no, it's just the name of the village near Hogwarts. Sometimes we get to visit there on the weekends to go to the shops and get some sweets or butterbeer or other things like that." It was a pretty cool place, so hopefully it would be allowed this year. She giggled at Lisa singling out Evan for the pillow fight too. "Yeah, he can be our first target." Three against one might not be fair, but if it got him to participate and have fun, then it was probably worth it. And yeah, getting hungry just from thinking about the food was relatable. Hogwarts food had always been pretty good, and the bread that Healer Poppy made was definitely included in that now too. As for cramming? "Sometimes. Not as much at the beginning of the term, but more towards the end when exams are coming up." Maybe not...as much last year, but in a normal year that was what seemed to occur, from what she'd observed before that. |
Lisa looked very confused at Misa’s comment and then she replayed what the older girl, Ivy, had said and then also wore the same confused facial and slightly disgusted expression. Drinks from..... hogs? GROSS! She scrunched her nose and was VERY relieved to learn it was the name of the village instead. Phew. Crisis averted.... “Is that the village with the candy store in? And doesn’t it have like a cliché dating place? Madam something something?” she had overheard some older students excitedly whispering about dates in a tea room. She grinned at Misa. “He’s my eldest brother at school. He’s a Ravenclaw but I’ll point him out!” Heh. As long as the two of them would be ready to join her in a pillow attack against her brother than she was all set. Hehe. She was so excited for this pillow fight. She could just SEE her brother’s reaction - one of surprise- when the three of them ganged up together. :mwaha: Excellent. Excellent. Exams did not sound like fun.... She knew they were inevitable and nothing she could do to avoid taking said exam but Lisa frowned. “Are they all question based or is there a practical aspect?” She’d knew she’d do much better at the test and theoretical portion. The only practical one that she feared was flying and landing...... |
"A village?!" Misa immediately brightened. She loved civilization and missed it dearly. "I want to go." she said. How often did this happen? Could she go now? THERE WAS A PLACE... WITH PEOPLE. It was a miracle. There was a dating place too? How... interesting. She'd have to remember that... if... it ever... became... relevant. She nodded. "Alright. Cool." She supported sibling rivalries. It made things fun and interesting. It also usually meant there was a good relationship. "My old school had both. I bet it's the same here." Ivy would know the answer though. |
"Yes, that's the one! Honeydukes is the sweet shop. And Madam Puddifoot's is the tea shop." Ivy hadn't ever gone inside there, and so obviously hadn't been on a date there either, and she wasn't sure it would be her preferred place to go. But who knew? Maybe it would be fun one day. "I can give you both a tour whenever we get to go there." Giving tours was apparently something she'd be doing a lot this term, but she was okay with that. She'd promised Seth Elliot a tour of Hogwarts, and now she was planning to give a tour of Hogsmeade to Misa and Lisa too. Exciting! Also exciting: this pillow fight they were planning. She was definitely looking forward to that too. As for less fun things like exams... Misa was correct. Ivy nodded. "Both, yeah. Some subjects have more of one than the other, like History of Magic is usually more writing than practical. But for most classes there's some writing and some practical stuff." |
Honeydukes was the sweet shop and Madame Puddifoots was the tea shop. Lisa planned to steer clear of Madame Pudifoots but def made a note to go visit Honeydukes. Candy stores sounded fun and she could always start building a stash of candy in her dorm room for later on. The first year perked up IMMEDIATELY at the offer to get a tour from the cool older year. “That sounds amazing! Thanks Ivy!” She was bouncy again. Misa’s school had both?! “Which school did you go to before?” she asked curiously, finding herself wanting to hear more about Misa’s adventures at her former school. Lisa then diverted her attention to Ivy, nodding as she listened. “Gotcha…. I’m not looking forward to exams,” she pouted. |
