Entrance Hall

Whether you are brand new to Hogwarts or have been here a while, the Entrance Hall is always a breath-taking sight to see. Always memorable are the high ceilings, the colourful portraits on the walls, and the grand marble staircase. Various torches light the large room, keeping it nice and cozy at all times of the year. Arched windows atop the staircase, featuring the four Hogwarts Founders in all of their glory, bring in natural lighting as well.

This room branches off to the rest of the castle. If you are standing by the enormous oak doors and the House hourglasses, to the right are the doors that lead to the Great Hall. Next to them are doors that will reveal a broom cupboard and the basement corridor. Opposite is a door to a stairwell that will take you do the dungeons and another that will take you down a corridor where the staff room and other rooms can be found. Going up the marble staircase will take you to a corridor that connects to the moving staircase chamber. There is a lot to see here, so take your time exploring!

"They're coming! They're coming! This is it, oh Merlin it's happening!!" Honestly, Emmerson felt a little bit like Chicken Little screaming that the sky was falling but the sky may as well have been falling given what she'd seen on her way back from the duck pond.

She knew warning wouldn't make a difference because they couldn't very well make anyone LEAVE but she was so freaked and needed someone to know and and and she hadn't stopped running from the moment she broke into that sprint back on the ground.

WAS NO ONE ELSE GOING TO FREAK OUT???

Surely she wasn't the only one who'd seen the A R M Y.

Gemma was out looking for her mum, but she hadn't found her yet. Sighing she headed towards the entrance hall to head out on the grounds. Maybe she was with Williamson or maybe she was trying to do some readings near the forest, either way Gemma was hoping to find her.

She heard Emmerson before she saw her, but she stopped and watched her for a moment. "Who is coming? What are you talking about." With the way this term was going and the hooded figures an uneasy feeling came to Gemma and she rushed towards the doors and looked out.

"Who.... who are they?" She started to back away from the door feeling more and more terrified.

”Quiet.” She’d seen the crowd approaching through a window and moved to the entrance hall at once, wanting to see them up close. Her curiosity winning out over her fear. The number of them was alarming, telling her that this Rosier man had a much bigger following than she’d been willing to imagine. ”I don’t need to tell you that these people will not tolerate any defiance. If you’re going to stay here, you’ll stand beside me and you’ll be quiet. If you can’t do that, I suggest you go back to your common rooms immediately.” And fast. The girls had every right to be frightened, but making a scene right now was only going to end badly for all of them. She shooed them back towards the stairs, out of the way of the doors.

I didn’t sign up for this. The thought had crossed her mind a million times since she’d started the term here and today was no different.

Shreya had been passing through the Entrance Hall, heading down one of the marble staircases on her way back to the dungeons, when she heard echoes of someone screaming. Moments later, Emerson Camrbdige skidded into the Great Hall. They're here? Who exactly were they?

Picking up her stride in concern, Shreya hurried down the rest of the stairs, meeting her coworker as she reached the landing. Neva's warning confirmed the worst: Rosier's following had arrived.

She knew it would only be a matter of time before this happened, but the sight of the stone-faced army out the window was concerning nonetheless. Shreya joined Neva in attempting to move Emmerson and Gemma back, away from the doors, just in case the army tried to burst it open somehow. Or otherwise inflict some type of torture. "Professor Peralta is right. Whatever they say, just do it. Don't question them. It'll be okay." She wanted to further comfort the frightened girls, but now was not the time. She knew that any funny business would not be tolerated. And she didn't want anyone getting hurt.

Well this was scary. Ash had never seen the full force of the cult before. She said nothing, but put up her hood before they came in to cover the mark on her forehead and make it harder to get her identity. She found a spot tucked behind the professors, just in case. Please universe don't make me die. I'm only twelve and I have reasons to stay alive and this time, the danger isn't even my fault. I'm sorry about all the times I've put myself in danger by being dumb, please just help me this one more time. Pleaseee. Ash said nothing. She stood there so still and "compliant" and "respectful" or whatever that if a cultist stumbled upon her, they wouldn't even try to kill her.

Norman had seen the army approaching from the window in his office. There was no need to ask who they were; the real question was what did they want? There was only one thing he could think of: an ambush. Merlin! He knew Rosier was lying through his teeth when he said no one would get hurt if they all complied; that was practically all dark wizards ever did! He just didn’t think the truth would come to light this fast.

He ran down the flights of stairs as fast as his legs could go. Give him a break! HIs office was on the sixth floor! He was not at all surprised to find some of his colleagues (Neva & Shreya) already gathered by the time he finally made it to the entrance hall, and he inwardly cursed the location of his office. The three students in the hall (Emmerson, Gemma & Ashley) got little more than a passing glance. Neva and Shreya had already told them what he would’ve said, so there was no reason to waste time repeating it. Besides, warm and comforting wasn’t exactly his strong suit. Sorry, kids! “Stay calm. We’ll handle this,” he said, making an effort to be reassuring as he rushed past them.

Norman’s mind was going a million miles an hour, trying to formulate a strategy just in case the worst happened. They outnumber us… We can’t drive them back, and we can’t hold them off, he thought. Then an idea occurred to him! If they could draw that entire army into one place, they could buy time for the students to get to safety… But he was getting ahead of himself. First thing was to find out what they wanted and try to resolve this peacefully. He nodded, standing near the two women. “Agreed, we do everything we can to placate them,” he said. Acutely aware of the students’ presence, his voice dropped to a whisper as he added, And just in case, I have another idea.”

Biting on a piece of toast he had decided to take with him , Minjae left the Great Hall to go to his common room cause where else could he go after his favorite room had been destroyed only to find a small group gathered around .

With Cambridge's frantic behaviour and the few words he had caught from Professor Varma and Peralta, Minjae knew immediately that something was wrong. He just did not know what.

Looking over through the gap of the door, his face paled upon seeing the large group of what could only be the Tyrant's followers and he was shocked to see that there were so many of them. Still chewing on his toast but more...nervously now....cause it was food and he couldn't waste it, he quickly walked over to stand beside Ashley, knowing fully well that she was a muggleborn like himself and he felt a need to protect her. "Professors? Should we leave?" he asked, not knowing what to do. Was he supposed to hide or face them? Someone tell him please.

DaniDiNardo 01-16-2021 06:19 PM

See, Emm was all set to start screaming about the army by the gate when Gemma asked. She even took a deep breath to make sure she could get it all out but before she could offer any response to the Hufflepuff, Professor Peralta was insisting on quiet.

WHO could be quiet now? HOW could anyone be so calm????? And d e f i a n c e?? Did she look like Ashley Fox to any of them?? Emmerson didn't NEED to be told to comply. SHE wasn't the one who had trouble holding her tongue. Speaking off the Ravenclaw, there she was which meant Emm had to be somewhere else. That girl had a habit of becoming a target and the 12-year-old was uninterested in being grouped in with her should things go south.

"Leaving is an excellent idea." Emm piped up. Minjae knew what was up and even Peralta had suggested they go if they couldn't handle things. "Just don't die after we leave. YOU don't do anything dumb either." She'd seen the hooded figures in some of their classes. Frankly, she didn't wanna know what those classes would become with them teaching. "I wasn't made for hexes every time I give a wrong answer."

TakemetotheBurrow 01-16-2021 07:34 PM

There was a brief moment of relief in realizing she wasn't the only adult in the hall, though it left the moment Norman mentioned having another idea. She glanced at him, worry clouding her expression. He knew this way beyond their control right now, didn't he? The best they could hope for was to keep the kids safe and try and keep their heads down until back up came. If back up was coming. Merlin, she hoped someone somewhere was catching on to the fact that something was not right. They needed help. "I don't think this is the moment for impulsivity. Surely Rosier knows they're coming" Her tone was apologetic, but she wouldn't budge on this. They couldn't intervene but they could remain calm keep the children out of harm's way. She glanced at Shreya, wondering what her thoughts were.

Glancing at Mr. Yoon and then back at the oak doors, the Professor frowned. The crowd of Rosier's friends would likely be here any moment, which meant they didn't have much time. "If you can handle getting back to your common rooms quickly and quietly, go now. Do not call attention to yourselves, no more yelling." That request was for you, Emmerson Cambridge. "I assure you no one is dying today." Not if she had anything to do with it.

"Get moving," She added after a moment, particularly if the children who dormed in the towers hoped to make it back up there and out of sight.

Bazinga 01-19-2021 07:37 PM

Gemma had moved back and was happy to see the adults. Her eyes scanned low for a blonde figure to come forth, but her mother never did. Hopefully that meant she was safe some where else. Listening to everyone Gemma just watched and nodded. She wasn't trying to take a wand out or wanting to fight. She just wanted to go and hide under her covers. It was becoming the only place she truly felt safe.

"You don't have to tell us twice professors. Stay safe." With that she was getting gone. Turning she went to head off but then stopped, "Has anyone see my mum or Hope?" She didn't want them to be left in danger and seeing either them or even her brother would be helpful.

astrocat 01-19-2021 09:55 PM

See, Ash wanted to hold her best friend's hand right now. But her best friend was not here. She looked to her left. Well Minjae was standing next to her. But no way was she going to ask to hold his hand. That would be embarrassing. ASH DID NOT NEED TO HOLD ANYBODY'S HAND. Although she definitely did want to.

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes at Emmerson. She didn't have time for that.

"I should go." Ash was possibly the person you would want the least in this spot right now, other than possibly Kale Trent. She had spent most of last year yelling at fake Trent, and she had definitely lied on her blood status form, and she acted like a muggle whenever possible, and she couldn't hold her tongue, and that was the worst combination ever.

It was hard to tell, but there may have been traces of fear in Ash's eyes as she started in the direction of her common room, which she wouldn't feel particularly safe in either.

Aboli had planning this for some time. Maybe she should have made sure at least ONE other person would show up with some SKILLLLZ??? but, like, she felt that if she broadcasted it too much, it would get too much attention. And what if the Alliance found a way to make this....not fun? So she had posted her posters a couple places around school and on the main bulletin board and just...let it sit. Let it be.

But she managed to charm some desks from an empty classroom into some tables and had managed to shrink them for movement down here to the Entrance Hall. She had her tongue between her teeth in concentration as she flourished her wand, getting the four tables set up. Then, she had to get alllll her supplies out and set up on one of the tables as well as the THREE example cards she had been working. They were ALL charmed in some way to either shimmer, sing, change color...she had a list of options available!

Now...to wait and see if anyone turned up *EYES EMOJI*

Ash seemed to have come out of nowhere. Where had she came from? Why was she so sneaky? She popped up right behind Aboli. "You wanted people to make each other presents or something? I can do art. Like of anything. Anybody want a drawing of anything, I can do it. Or like, something else. But I'm mainly good at art. I can even do pets. And people. And objects. Preferably off of a picture but descriptions can be done." She pulled out her sketchbook. Proof. Almost anything was in there. Since when had she become an ad agency for herself? "I can draw you, Aboli, if you want. For free." She laughed. "I sound like a robot. Seriously though, you want art, I'm your girl. I can even put magic in it to make it less suspicious. I'm boreddd." And with that, she started doodling a boy on an empty page. It was a very good drawing, but it wasn't recognizable to anyone at the school. Mystery subject, apparently. Any "customers"? They didn't have to pay, especially if they boosted her ego. They could pay in gifts. They could pay in favors. Ash was bored out of her mind. pleaseee somebody give her something interesting to do that didn't involve trashing muggles.

Quinn was very excited for the Christmas gift thingy. He was already knitting some stuff for his own friends, so why not knit some stuff for other people's friends, too?

He made his way over to Aboli with his satchel full of all the yarn he's brought (red, green, blue and yellow [obviously] along with three shades of pink and a purple with glitter in it), some samples of what he can make (hat, socks, scarf and a sweater that was wearable but a bit dingy), and his knitting needles. "Hey! I saw the posters about the Christmas present thingy, and I thought I might as well pitch in! I can knit pretty alright, so that's something. Plus I can bake cakes, cupcakes, brownies and cookies! But, uh, not anything too fancy just yet," he chuckled a bit awkwardly.

"I was thinking I could probably take orders for stuff and then get it to people before Christmas? But that also depends on the amount of yarn I have, and how much time it'll take to knit stuff... and I can't very well bake things too far in advance, can I?" He furrowed his brow in thought. These were... not exactly things he had thought about just yet. "W-well, maybe scratch the baked goods until I figure out a proper way to go about doing that, but I'm still on for knitting..!"

Bryn 02-04-2021 03:25 AM

Eden was nervous about approaching Aboli, not that she'd admit it. She hadn't really befriended any upperclassmen, and she didn't really trust purebloods at all. Would Aboli let her in on the holiday spirit, or would she tell her that muggleborns weren't welcome? The first year really didn't know what she'd do if that were true, and the fear of it alone almost kept her from coming.

Her fears were significantly alleviated when she saw Ashley. Quinn was a different matter - but nonetheless nothing to fear. Eden approached the small group by the tables. In one hand she held a few colorful
friendship bracelets.
In the other she carried a black plastic case with a pink glitter handle.

"Hi Aboli, Ashley, Quinn," the little ginger greeted, nodding to each of her fellow students. She wouldn't ignore Quinn - that was all him if he chose to go that route. "I, um, brought friendship bracelets. I can make more or teach people to do it themselves." Eden took a deep breath. She worried about looking like a silly kid with the next one. "I can also do nails. My parents both did it professionally and taught me how. Not like acrylics...like nail art. Polka dots, glitter...strawberries...that kind of thing. I could make vouchers or something? Or not."

MaisieTheMagical 02-04-2021 05:32 AM

Delaney descended the stairs that lead to the entrance hall and glanced around. They weren't hard to spot. Aboli had a small group of Ravenclaws gathered around some tables, one containing a number of holiday cards. Delaney had seen the flyer hung up around the castle and was intrigued. She had no skills to offer BUT Christmas was her all time favorite holiday (right after her birthday of course) and she was determined to make this year a good one even though she would be stuck at school. See, Delaney LOVED receiving gifts but she also found some joy in giving them as well. There was almost no chance of any of her presents from home reaching her this year (unless the Neo Alliance were also big Christmas supporters) which left her with only one other option: giving. Delaney had no talents herself, not a creative bone in her body, which means she would need to enlist help.

She strode over the group with her arms behind her back, "Hello Aboli," She was only mildly familiar with the older snake, but she did remember she was pro 'sticking together'. She nodded her greeting to the others as well, "I heard you're all making stuff for Christmas? I need stuff. I don't have any coin with me..." That was a lie but who knows when she might need the money in the future for something more pressing, "But I've got a couple of pumpkin pasties, some chocolate frog cards, and a Puddlemere United poster I can trade you for ... or whatever else I can help you with."

Delaney shrugged. She would be happy to help in whatever way she can in exchange for some gifts...

FearlessLeader19 02-04-2021 03:21 PM

Hallo ^_^

Claudine did have talent and so she was here. Aboli’s idea intrigued her and presents definitely should be a thing because they were an essential part of the holidays. And Claudine loved Christmas. She lurked behind some first years, checking out the display. Was she impressed by what she saw? Yes.

“Hi, Aboli. Creative idea.” Anyway. “I overheard Ashley volunteering her artistic talent.’’ Really, the Ravenclaw was pretty good at drawing. “I volunteer mine too. Two artists are better than one, right?” This self taught artist was so proud of her work, you know.

DuckyLinJi 02-04-2021 04:52 PM

Minjae had....no skills to show. Not in this setting at least . He had become rather skilled in potion making and using defensive spells over the years and lately non-verbal spells was added to the list as well but all of that had nothing to do with christmas. Still, the Hufflepuff joined the others in the entrance hall because he wanted to be useful somehow.

"Hey everyone" he greeted the group at large , his hands deep inside of his pockets as he checked out the cards on the table. Neat. "I liked your idea Aboli, very Prefect like" he said as he looked at his slytherin friend. "I have to admit i don't really have any skill but maybe you know something i can help with?"

kayquilz 02-04-2021 11:04 PM

It didn't take long for some students to start trickling in, and Aboli had to admit she was a little relieved people were actually here. She had thought if she just made ONE PERSON'S Christmas a little better, then things would be all right. However, there was MORE than one person, so all was well in the world!

Ashley was the first to arrive, and Aboli had to hide her look of amusement as the girl just prattled on...and on...and on........and then, on. Merlin's pants, when she wasn't being faced with the ridiculousness of the Neo Alliance, the girl was an absolutely chatter-box. "Ashley, thank you. You can set up your stuff next to me on this table or choose one of the other tables for yourself and anyone else who wants to do art stuff!" She smiled and gave a thumbs up at her sketches. "Oh, nice. I wish I had that skill. However.......I don't. I just make these guys - " and she held up a card. It seemed Claudine wanted in on the art stuff too. "Thanks, Claudine. Sure. You two can go get your own table -" she nodded at the one next to hers. "And then we can all start working! We're the little Christmas elves this year, aren't we?!" she nodded and chuckled to herself.

OK.

THINGS WERE GOING SWIMMINGLY.

Awww, little Quinn. Aboli sent him a wave with her gloved hand. "Heya, Quinn. Actually, knitting might be easier for you. We don't really...have ALL the access to the kitchens to be promising people baked goods and stuff. " Which made her wonder just how the Alliance felt about the house elves. Did they like the elves because they had magic? Or did their prejudices extend further? "That's a pretty cool thing to know how to do. How did you learn?" she patted the spot next to her at her own table so he could display any of his knitting stuff he needed to display.

MORE OF THOSE LITTLE RAVENCLAWS. Eden, now, too. "Oh! Lovely, Eden. I'm sure a LOT of people will want friendship bracelets." She did not glance at Quinn even though she SUPER wanted to. Had he spoken to her yet, she wondered. She was trying not to be obvious though! "Those are sooOOooo cute, Eden. SO cute. I'll probably even take some." She'd put in her order by the end of the day, surely!

At Minjae and Delaney's arrival, though, she thought she should make something clear. Those two had come just to procure gifts! Aboli cleared her throat. "AHEM!" she started, "I just want to make it clear that NO form of payment should be transactioned here!" She made up the word transactioned. People could get over it. "This is all for fun and for free since we can't get mail! So unless you want me to kick ya' out, do NOT force people to pay you!"

Aaaaand Minjae got a wink. "Thanks. I will forever be a prefect, thank you."

astrocat 02-05-2021 12:05 AM

Yeah, well. Ash had decided she needed to say everything. And an eighth of the lifespan equaled 8 times the amount of talking. "Nice card." Yayyyy! Other people were here! "yo Quinn! I didn't know you could knit. That's cool! Edennnn! Nice bracelets." And then she hopped over to Claudine. Goooood mood todayyyy!!!! "Claudine can we sit at the same table please? We can be 'twinsies', or whatever. I don't know what that word means." She gave the girl subtle puppy eyes. Not enough to be annoying, but enough to be effective. Pleeease. They all had limited time, so they needed lots of fun. "Does anyone want a picture of someone else? I don't even have to like them to draw them. I can make their eyes all sparkly..." She rested her head on the table. High-energy today was she? She wanted people to give her stuff to draw. plsssss.

NiallNIP 02-05-2021 04:02 AM

He smiled at Ashley and nodded. "Yep! It's really relaxing actually." He moved to the table next to Aboli, starting to take out some of his things.

"Hi, Eden," he said, hopefully very neutrally (since that's what he was going for) as he looked into his bag to sort through his things. He hadn't actually spoken to her yet, but he didn't want to ignore her anymore. He didn't want to not talk to her, but he had never really had a good opportunity. Every time he was going to it felt really awkward, so he just... didn't. Yet. He was going to. For sure. Soon. Definitely.

He laid out the samples he had knitted—yellow hat, blue and green striped socks, purple glittery scarf and a baby pink semi-dingy sweater—and then laid out the yarns so people could see the colors. "Well," he started in response to Aboli, "I started knitting because of my Gram. Same for my baking, actually. Every time I would go to her house she would do one of the two, if not both, and I just started watching her. Then I started helping her bake, and she gave me a set of knitting needles and showed me how. Now we do both together whenever I go." He smiled thinking about it. He wished he could be there now—his Gram's was his happy place. He wanted to bake brownies with chocolate chips and walnuts and work on their big quilt together. He took a deep breath before he could tear up. "Your cards are very pretty, Aboli. You did a good job," he forced a smile.

PatInTheHat 02-06-2021 03:39 PM

She had already been working on her own gifts for her friends whens she noticed the posters about helping out with Christmas gifts for everyone. Having been ahead on her studies (Hogwarts was much more slack than her own mother) Tavie couldn't think of a better way to spend her time for Christmas. Well, she could, actually, but she thought she still had enough time to spare and help make everyone's Christmas merry and bright.

When she walked up to the area, she spotted a few underclassmen and some older kids, one of them being, "Aboli!" She smiled brightly at the older girl. "I'm rubbish at arts and crafts, but I'm brilliant with my wand." That was, at least at charms. She had improved greatly over the past year. "Stick me wherever I'm most useful for the gifts!"

Kolyander 02-06-2021 04:19 PM

Dahlia had seen the posters around the castle a couple of times and yes, she had read it. The idea had made her smile but the realization of how close it was to the holidays and the fact that she wouldn't be going home, had made her cry. Christmas was a big thing at home, their family always got together to exchange gifts and eat and play games and things. There was music and laughter and lots of noise. Not getting to go home was heartbreaking but she couldn't dwell on it for too long. Whether or not she was stuck here... her holiday gift shopping list was long.

So it was quietly and with a soft smile that she had made her way to the entrance hall where the tables were set up. Taking a quick look around and seeing a few familiar faces, the first year made her way over towards Aboli. Since it was the older girl who had put this thing together she wanted to start by speaking with her first.

"Hi, Aboli.. I'm Dahlia." In case she didn't know that already or thought that she was her sister Lily. It wouldn't be the first or the last that someone still called her Lily. Even being sorted into different houses hadn't helped with people mixing them up. Anyhow that wasn't even important right now. "This is a really great idea." She shifted from one foot to the other. "I'm not sure how much help I can be since what I'm really good at won't help with this." Creatures and plants wouldn't do much good right now.

In her bag though she had brought some paracord, lanyard and beads of many colors and styles. She used to enjoy making things from time to time but with how things were going this term... well the items had all sat buried at the bottom of her trunk the entire term. Forgotten. It had been a secret hobby of hers that only her family knew about. "I do have some stuff I made awhile ago but I'm not sure at how good I'll be at making them again." Not that she wouldn't give it her best try. "Would you like to see them?"

kayquilz 02-07-2021 05:18 PM

Aboli chuckled at Ashley's immense enthusiasm. Goodness, it was nice to see the younger ones look HAPPY. And unafraid. And NORMAL. She smiled a little. "Ashley, I'll take a sketch of this handsome fellow." She pulled out a picture of Noah Nam and slide it over to her. Her eyes went to Minjae, wondering if Noah had filled him in on she and the NOW BOYFRIEND'S developments. All of the developments... "My boyfriend. So please make sure it looks decent." Were her cheeks red because they were burning. She hardly spoke about these sorts of things aloud to the general population here at Hogwarts. Sure, Bernie had caught on to her romantic shenanigans simply from observing her interactions with the Gryffindor, but she didn't go out of her way to talk to random people about Noah.

Ahem.

Anyway.

"Do you want one?" she asked Quinn, suddenly pulling out a blank sheet of paper and using her wand to turn it green. She was not an artist, no, but she was dead good at magic, all right? To each their own. "You know there's a charm to help you knit, too," she said with a smile. "Unless that's how you already knit." Because he DID already knit using magic.

Well, well, well. Someone from that little annoying group had arrived, one of the non-annoying ones. Octavia. And she supposed her heart to heart with Cece rendered her more patient with her as well. But Phoebe, Kale...and the lot of 'em.... yeah. Aboli was not a fan, but she did wave in a polite manner at the Ravenclaw. She had nothing against Octavia, after all. "Well, thank you for turning out, Octavia. How nice of you. I guess....you can help me make some cards. It's easy if you just follow my steps and know hot to render decent magic," and she expected that the Stark girl would know decent magic. After all, that lot talked a LOT about their schooling before Hogwarts, and they seemed well learned. Hmmph.

Another small one! Aboli was glad the younger kiddos were at least taking advantage of her idea. Dahlia.....right. Okay. "Oh. Um. Sure. Show me," she began using her wand to snip snip SNIIIIIP away at her green paper, her eyes moving to watch Dahlia pull whatever she wanted to from her bag.

And since she was not paying attention, her magic had produced a very lopsided Christmas tree. Whoops.

astrocat 02-07-2021 05:43 PM

OOOOOh. THE HONOR. Ash smiled enthusiastically. yayyyyyy. She got to draw someone's boyfrienddddd. So cuteeee. For someone who acted like an angry twenty-year-old most of the time, Ash sure could be a child. "Don't worry. I'll make it extra nice." Nooo. She could not give Aboli a drawing of her boyfriend that didn't look totally awesome. That would be a travesty. She took out a nicely-sized piece of paper and started drawing the outline. She involuntarily muttered a little song as she worked.

"I am drawing
a color portrait
and it is cool
yay

and it needs
extra sparkles
at the end
yay"

Who knew it was so hard to subconsciously songwrite while drawing a VERY IMPRESSIVE picture of Someone's boyfriend. Speaking of which, was that Noah Nam? She had met him on the train once, and he was with Minjae. And that was basically all she could remember. Ooooh, he was dating Aboli? Adorable. She started the beginning of an outfit and hair. Still no facial features yet though. Ash looked over at where Quinn was sitting. She kinda wanted some knitted stuff. But she was too afraid to askkkk. Too bad. She went back to drawing. Focus. Focus. Focus. She was trying super hard, totally outdoing herself. Why? Ummm, because she was drawing somebody's boyfriend. It had to be the best. It was like, almost as good as her drawings of her best friend, which also needed to be the best. Ash was like, concentrating. Someone could have been ten feet behind her and she wouldn't have noticed.

NiallNIP 02-07-2021 09:56 PM

He smiled at Aboli. "Sure! It'll go great along with the sweater..." Quinn thought out loud. He knew he wanted to knit a sweater for, ahem, one of his friends, and he thought it would be nice to have a card to go along with it.

Quinn's eyes widened, and he shook his head no. "No, I didn't know about that, actually. What does it do? Let you knit faster?" He would love to be able to knit faster.

Fireheart 02-07-2021 10:48 PM

hope you don't mind if we crash ^_^

Shreya had seen the posters around the school and was absolutely endeared that the students were taking it upon themselves to make the holiday season a bit brighter. She had tried to resist attending, figuring that the students wouldn't want a lame old professor crashing their party, but she couldn't resist at least popping in. So, with a tray of various holiday-flavored beverages (made from her intricate office coffee station, of course), Shreya made her way to the Entrance Hall, donning an elegant blue and gold salwar kameez. She usually didn't wear her traditional Indian fashions at Hogwarts, as they seemed a bit out-of-place. Not to mention that all her years living in the United Kingdom had inadvertently transitioned her wardrobe to mostly Western-inspired pieces. But the holidays were a special occasion, and she felt like paying a bit of homage to her culture today. Being stuck at Hogwarts had certainly caused some homesickness for Jaipur.

"Hello, hello," she greeted everyone with a wave, setting down the heavy tray on the table. "I come bringing some holiday cheer! Help yourself." Shreya gestured to the variety of steaming beverages: hot cocoa, peppermint mochas, caramel lattes, and cinnamon clove tea. She made her way over to the table of cards, beaming with pride at all the work the students were putting in. "Mind if I join you?" She could certainly make a few cards for her colleagues. But a part of her simply wanted to be there to supervise, just in case the Inquisitorial Squad caught wind of the gathering.

AlwaysSnapesGirl 02-08-2021 01:37 AM

Disappointed as she was that they wouldn't be able to be home for the holidays, Ivy had expected that to be the case for awhile, and she had...not quite made her peace with it, but accepted it as the way it would be this year.

Still, even with everything, it didn't mean they couldn't find some way to celebrate or enjoy it here. And the posters she'd seen around? That was a great way to do something positive! And it'd be fun to find some gifts for her friends.

So here she was, and she was pleased to see a number of students here already and Professor Varma too! With warm drinks!

"Hi, everyone!" she said, smiling and grabbing a mug of hot cocoa. "If you still need people to help, I can do paintings." She had shrunk a few that she'd done recently, carrying them in the bag slung over her shoulder. They were mostly abstract type stuff, though there was a landscape one she was pretty proud of too. She figured it'd be useful to have a few examples to display in case that helped anyone decide if they wanted something like that.

She would've offered to do photoshoots too but...yeah, she was still wary of using her camera around.

There looked to be quite a few different and great gift ideas already anyway. She was already trying to decide what to get everyone she knew.

*joins* *apologises* *but really wants to play*

Oh dear Merlin's plaid Christmas pants. It was a Christmas handcraft workshop... except it was poorly placed. At the entrance hall, really?

Ilya wasn't a Christmas fan, his family did not really celebrate the holidays much. Yes, they would use the occasion to stuff their faces and to decorate but no tree or other festivities. It was probably why he stood to the side of the jolly group, judging watching with his arms crossed. Cards? Not interested. Painting? Not interested. Singing? Oh dear God, no. Blue and gold outfit? Heck yeah. It was a petty she was a professor, though. He had a thing against authority figures. Her outfit was amazing, though, and he WOULD know since he was a great fashion follower.

Ilya's cat slowly moved to curl up on one of the tables, interestedly watching the scenery.

ooc: I couldn't decide if pets are still allowed in the castle??? please ignore the cat if not XD

Kolyander 02-08-2021 02:19 PM

Oops? Perhaps she had chosen somewhat of a bad moment to speak with the older girl who she hadn't realized was working on making a card. Distracted or not, Aboli was paying attention to her so it was now or never.

Before she could change her mind, Lia pulled the container from her bag and opened it. Inside the container was a variety of paracord creatures, bracelets and flowers. Some were not perfect, a little lopsided or oddly shaped but these were display ones mostly, from back when she had first learned. In her bag were several books as well and she wouldn't mind giving anything in the books a try if someone choose something she wasn't sure how to do.

Aawww, lookit! There was a kitty on the other table. Hello, kitty! Dahlia couldn't keep from smiling brightly at it.

Deezerz 02-09-2021 03:48 AM

We want to playyyy. ALSOOOO for everyone <3

Lilith had seen the poster for this little event. Arts and crafts? Heck yeah. She was all for creative things that would take her mind off the holidays. Although, yeah, this was about the holidays, but it'd distract her from thinking too much about her family.

The Slytherin hurried her way down the halls. She was late. Lilith thought since they were sharing their materials with her, she'd share something. And that something was baked goods. She is the daughter of a baker, so she knew her way around that just perfectly.

Arriving, she smiled at the group of people. Mainly at Aboli's presence. Lilith admired something about her energy.

"I brought baked goods to share with everyone," she announced. Mainly (once again) to Aboli. She was the creator of this event, yeah?

Setting the box down on the table, she cast a warming charm on the box of cookies, muffins, all the sweet baked stuff, for if anyone wanted to grab some after they were done with their crafts. Now where was she going to start...

FearlessLeader19 02-10-2021 12:50 AM

Open for drawing requests ^_^

And there were more students gathering. The introvert in her wanted to shirk away to someplace with less hassle but he forced herself to snap out of it for two reasons: she wanted to help make cards and she was here for Aboli, whom Claudine always liked. It also intrigued her to hear just what hidden talents the others have. Quinn could knit? Interesting.

Anyway. There was an enthusiastic Ashley. It was a good thing the two had become friends {sort of}, wasn’t it? This meant they would get along nicely at today’s activity. Oh my. The Ravenclaw was super enthusiastic today. It was contagious. Claudine laughed. “Sure, we can be twinsies. Art twinsies at the same table.”

The fifth year resisted a snort when Ashley stated that she didn’t have to like the persons to draw them. Merlin. She and Ashley sounded alike in that way too. Once the two had gotten things set up, Claudine settled in, eyeing the growing group. Already Ashley had snagged her first request. “Going to give them starry eyes?’’ Claudine asked with interest. Then she announced: “I’ll be happy to draw whatever you guys like too!’’ In the meanwhile, she’d just be working on her card for Heath.

Not before complimenting Varma though. “I like your outfit, professor. Very colourful.’’ These were the clothing she’d been accustomed on their previous Astronomy professor too!

kayquilz 02-13-2021 02:35 AM

gahhh lol

Ashley Fox was.........actually kinda' endearing. When she wasn't being completely stupid and reckless, that is. Aboli found herself smiling despite her judgments about the young Ravenclaw. "Can't wait to see the end result, all right?" she chuuuuuckled and turned to Quinn. With a few mutterings and waves of her wand, his card was finished. TOP SPEED. EXCELLENT MAGIC. MUCH SKILL.

Aboli was too proud of herself sometimes

"Ummmm yes. I just don't remember the charm off the top of her head. It may come to me soon, though. BUUUUUT.....there's something nice about knitting by hand, I suppose,"
and yes, she chose to use the word 'by hand' rather than 'the muggle way.' In case there were any ears listening. "I'll let ya' know if I recall it, yeah?" She winked and passed the finished pop-up card over to him. The turnout was getting even larger, and that was SUPER NICE. Had a professor even shown up?! Wow!

Wowowowowow!

Professor Varma looked amazing! Aboli was a little *HEART EYES* at the outfit. "Your kameez is so pretty, Professor!" she beamed. "My grandparents are Indian," she explained quickly. Thus, her name being Aboli. She didn't want to seem like a show-off smarty pants or anything even if she really was both of those things. She shouldn't take credit where it wasn't due? Or, at least, that was what she thought currently. She changed her mind depending on the situation. She didn't want any hot cocoa, but she appreciated the effort! How sweeeeeet!

Ivy, some bloke, and Lillith all arrived at once, and Aboli sent them waves. "Ivy, if you want to set up shop at one of the tables, go right ahead!" she beamed some more, her face actually hurting from the amount she was doing right now. It was more than she had smiled in months. Even her time with Noah weren't really smiley occasions lately. They mostly discussed their fears............

Which was a fun killer, for sure.

"Thanks for the baked goodies, Lillith,"
she shot an appreciative thumbs up at her. "I'll be taking some for friends, of course." It looked good, and she was certain any baked good right now would be a much needed pick-me-up for these DARK AND SOULLESS TIMES.

But the BLOKE'S CAT suddenly jumped on a table and Aboli EYED the cat. "If your creature ruins anything, I swear, I will hex it AND you," she spat out without thinking. On second thought, she probably wouldn't hex a cat. Maybe just the bloke. "I'm not even sure I remember your name," she said snootily as she suddenly began to make ANOTHER card, this time with red and white paper. There were some candy cane vibes going on. Once she was done, she handed it over to the cat-owner bloke. "Merry Christmas. Now make sure your cat is behaved."

Dahlia's bracelets caught her eye. "Can I request some in Slytherin colors?" she asked curiously. Royse and Fiona were good candidates for those. Friendship bracelets, almost.]

And of course Claudine would get some requests soon. The girl seemed to have her own fair share of talent!

astrocat 02-13-2021 02:57 AM

"Yeah, of course." Ash looked up at Claudine. "I think love is sparkly." But she needed a breakkkkkkkk. She went over to the professor. "I like your clothes professor. Thanks for the drinks." She snagged a cocoa. Yum. And she nodded at Lilith. "Thank you?" And she took some cookies, and set it all down by her workspace. She got back to work, muttering some things under her breath. "crazy child, broken pyromancer. Surfer artist, singer-dancer. Muggleborn fighter, can't shut up. Cookie lover, almost-writer, she just wants love. And stuff." Anddd that was her new theme song. She paused to eat her food. It was almost time for sparkles. But first, kitty cat. She walked over to Ilya. "Can I pet your kitty cat? Maybe? No? Okay." Well actually, he hadn't said no yet. YET. She looked at him hopefully. But also disappointedly, as if she already knew the answer. That was a fun contrast, wasn't it? Child Ash who hoped for the best and reality Ash who'd only seen the worst. And she just stood there, unsure of which Ash she wanted to express. And waited.

Kolyander 02-13-2021 03:00 PM

Dahlia smiled brightly, nodding her head without hesitation. "Sure! I can get started on them right now." It had occurred to her that Aboli hadn't given an exact number on how many bracelets she wanted but that was okay. She could worry about that later.

Closing the lid on the container that held some of her word, Lia turned away from the table to find a place to set up her things. "Hello, Professor," she greeted Varma. "You look really nice, I love the colors." Blue and gold went nicely together and it was super shiny looking! The first year took one of the hot drinks from the tray. "Thank you for the drink." It would definitely help keep her warm and focused while she worked.

On her way to an empty spot at one of the tables, she flashed both Ashley and Quinn a friendly smile. Settling down onto a chair, she placed the container holding some of her sample crafts onto the table. Quickly she took out a few of the books she had with her for anyone to look through and all of the different colors/styles of paracord that she had.

Once she had her little area set up, it was time to get to work. Green and silver were selected with black to be the undertone. Each bracelet was going to be a little different even though the colors would be the same.

FearlessLeader19 02-13-2021 10:56 PM

Claudine paused for a minute, watching Aboli and the cat. In truth, she wanted to laugh so much at the interaction, even if she was half afraid the cat might jump on Aboli’s face and claw the older girl. But a rescue for her wasn’t necessary and at least in the end, kitty got to hang around. “I got your back if you need some help with the cat, Aboli.’’ Actually, it was nice to have the little creature among them. She wished that she had brought Samm along but the rat was fast asleep, curled up on her bed in her dorm.

Now, Claudine busied herself with her first request. Could she manage to sketch a clutter of pine trees? Duh. Anyway. Was love sparkly? The Snakette eyed Ashley thoughtfully and guessed that the Ravenclaw might be referring to what she thought love might be - being on cloud nine and all. “Have you ever been in love?’’ Claudine asked, neatly tracing out the first pine tree top.

The Narrator 03-27-2021 09:05 PM

As war rages on both sides continue to fight, but the order and supporters have pushed further into the castle. With the castle being hit by both sides trying to defended it. The alliance not ready to end this war and furious at the ones taking over the Great Hall are fighting to keep other's out and to take down as many as the order as possible.

Watson 03-28-2021 09:13 PM

with aboli!

Noah Nam - uhhh student that's fighting the Alliance?

Much to his mate's (Minjae's) dismay, he and his girlfriend had slipped out of the spare office and had gone to join the fight. This was their school - their home. And it felt so right to be taking a stand. He quickly cast a protective ward over him and Aboli as they made their way down the corridors, staircases, and to the main floor. The people they ran past... The cries.... The... He had to block it out of his mind and continue moving forward. If he thought about it more.... that wouldn't be helpful. He was running on pure adrenaline.

This was CHAOS. Absolute chaos. All wants of Gryffindoring had quickly exited this boy's mind as he readied his mind for whoever was coming near them. Now they just had to survive and watch each other's back as best as they could. He bit his lip, wondering how his mate was doing.... and hoping that all in the Spare Office were okay...

Amidst the chaos, he found a bizarre calmness within himself as he fought beside Song. He hid, watching for who was coming. He quietly cast a shield charm over the two of them before readying his wand.

Bazinga 03-28-2021 10:42 PM

Julien Primeaux had been fighting the good fight and his was showing it. Blood and bruising all over, but that wasn't stopping him. The old charms professor was not going to stop he was going to help the students of Hogwarts as well as his own two sons get out of there.

Finally getting into the castle he looked around wand up and ready. "You kids okay?" He shouted from the noise as he noticed a few, but before he could hear an answer he was throwing up a few shields as spells came near.

Neo-Alliance Followers 03-28-2021 10:51 PM

They weren't giving up yet even if they had lost a few along the way. After the bridge fell many of the followers headed towards the castle hitting the entrance hall and seeing the order coming in. With loud chants and wicked laughter the Neo-Alliance started sending spells every which way.

One sent a spell to blast toward the staircase while another sent a few curses towards some students. Putting up their own protective spells they continued to push their way further in and sent a few killing curses out as well.

Lissy Longbottom 03-28-2021 11:13 PM

Shaking, Tucker Schultz had FINALLY made his way into the castle. His mind was still reeling from what he'd seen just before he'd fled the wooden bridge. Professor Truebridge had been dropped - by a student! He tried not to think about it, but it was...very unsettling to him. True, she'd been trying to murder people but...it made him sick. Quite literally, he might get sick...

Nope, no time for that. No sooner had he stepped foot in the Great Hall did a swarm of Alliance followers bust in. Come ONNNN. He just wanted to find his mum! Becoming frustrated, he turned and spotted an iron candle stand nearby. He waved his wand, putting out the candles and levitating the heavy iron frame, before waving his wand and sending it flying into the crowd of Alliance followers like they were bowling pins.

His patience - already pretty non-existent - was gone and now, his goal was to take these goons out as fast as possible.

Fireheart 03-28-2021 11:36 PM

Avalon was exhausted.

Physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted. Her legs felt like jelly—and not from a jelly-legs curse. They simply ached from the sheer amount of running and spell-casting she had been performing. The Ravenclaw had just departed the Great Hall, where she had gotten a particularly nasty gash on her arm (thanks to a rogue Neo-Alliance member catching her with the back end of a spell) mended by a healer. Her feet dragged as she made her way through the Entrance Hall, prepared to head back out to the grounds to help her classmates.

But it seemed she was not alone. Ducking instinctively at the noise and the sight of the followers infiltrating the castle, she made to crouch behind the staircase, but was blown back by the explosion instead.

Eyes stinging from the debris, she managed to find her wand. "PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!" she shouted, flicking it pointedly toward a particularly mangy-looking follower. While she was at it, she put up a quick shield charm around herself and sent nonverbal expelliarmus toward one of the followers—winking at Aboli after she did so. Thank goodness they had practiced nonverbals earlier in the term. They had definitely come in handy for Avalon today.

They had to keep them from getting too far into the castle. There were too many vulnerable people in here—those in the Great Hall, her younger classmates in the upper part of the castle. Merlin, she hoped that more would be coming to help, because by the looks of it, there weren't enough of them in here to hold off the Neo-Alliance group.

kayquilz 03-29-2021 12:36 AM

Aboli stayed close behind Noah as they ran what felt like for their very lives. She could hear the battles taking place all around school, outside and in, around them. It made her heart quicken, her hands sweat more intensely inside their gloves. She wanted to hold Noah's hand as they continued, but that would be stupid. Can't fight holding hands. Now was not the time!!!!!

Her wand was raised, and the adult who approached them. She didn't trust ANYONE, but it soon became apparent who was with the alliance....sending killing curses and other hexes their way.

Aboli groooowled lowly, under her breath. "DEFODIO!" she spit at one of the alliance members, all of the anger, rage, and HATRED she had felt for so many months brewing to the forefront of her mind as she envisioned what her spell could potentially do. One of those green spells has just nearly missed Noah! And she was supposed to be RATIONAL? Play nicely? Aboli gritted her teeth, broke off from Noah, and stepped forward more. "SECTUMSEMPRA!"

"We're bloody brilliant!" she snapped at the man, her eyes flashing.

BanaBatGirl 03-29-2021 12:43 AM

Bernie Berns, anti-Neo Alliance

...everything was in chaos and somehow, unsurprisingly, Bernadette Ophelia Grantham had found her way through the muck and mire, slipping down to the Entrance Hall on her way out of school. Being in Room for so long had meant that she'd successfully evaded anything and everything meaningful all term, including, but not limited to, a lot of homework.

So here she was now, in the Entrance Hall, cloaked in a longgggg black robe she'd picked up along the way, (and hemmed, briefly, before she took off at a run). She was all set to march out the doors of Hogwarts forever. She had her wand back and it was OUT, in her hand in defense mode, ahem, it was NOT in her boot. She'd wanted to see School Dad one last time before leaving, but it was now apparent to her that she'd best just abandon all hope and flee the premises before anything worse happened. She could tell SOMETHING worse was about to happen, so she was going to get the heck out before it could occur.

Bernie paused as she spotted Noah Nam and Aboli Song ahead of her. Should she... er, do a spell to escape? Her heart was pounding. She couldn't even THINK STRAIGHT RIGHT NOW.

Uncle Moose 03-29-2021 01:33 AM

Fighting had actually reached just outside the Great Hall. Torrance could hear the erupting spells and the shouts from just outside and while he could stay and help those injured the other way to help those who were injured or for anyone in there trying to grieve was to come out fighting to protect them.

He stepped out and saw a few others already tossing spells toward the Neo-Alliance followers. Some even looked like students. Older students...too old to be his cousins. And there was Uncle Julien! He knew some more of his family would be here. It was obvious they would be. Elias and Elijah were his two youngest from Uncle Julien's newer marriage . He stepped to his back and threw up a shield to block an oncoming attack coming his way. "I got your back Uncle Julien!" The Wanderer's Healer said through gritted teeth, turned and threw some of his own spells toward the enemy. Petrificus Totalus, Expelliarmus, Bombarda.

Felixir 03-29-2021 01:49 AM

disillusioned like the chameleon childe they are

NEMESIS UPSTEAD: NEO-ALLIANCE
Nemesis had been revitalised. Was that insensitive? Probably. Whatever.

Having fled from the collapsed wooden bridge, Nem had taken a different route back across the ravine, one which mostly required getting a decent distance from the wreckage, scrambling down into said ravine, and then back up to the top on the other side. Running on that last rush of adrenaline was all well and good, but Nem had had to stop several times all the same, when the world started to spin around them, threatening to launch them back to the bottom. They never stopped for long, though, not for long enough that the rush passed them by. They wouldn't waste this. They would not.

Back up in one piece on the other side, Nem had run for the castle. Still shrouded in darkness, they paused, heeding a moment of sudden intuition, and rapped their wand (their original wand, having swapped the cherry for their usual elder) sharply on top of their head. When they were sure the Disillusionment Charm had worked, Nem sprinted onwards.

They found themselves, now, in the midst of another skirmish. Excellent.

Nem was ready to dive in once again, to fight, yes, still on the side of the Neo-Alliance. Probably. Maybe. At this point, they didn't really care, a fight was a fight. They stayed on the edges of the duelling at first, keeping half an eye out for stray spells to duck and dodge around, and looking for an opportunity. Plenty of those, as it turned out, but instead they fixed their sights on Bernadette Grantham. Looking slightly out of her depth, too. Couldn't have that.

They slipped through the hall, ending up by her side. "It's Nem," they murmured, reaching to grab her non-wand hand, ready to dodge away if she panicked or, for whatever reason, intentionally attacked. "Coming?" As in, out of here, right now. Nemesis Upstead was not done with Bernadette Grantham, and letting her Gryffindor her way into a battleground death was not on tonight's agenda.

Watson 03-29-2021 02:03 AM

MAY DAY MAY DAY. He dodged that curse in the nick of time. Thank Merlin for his quick reflexes... if that had been any closer... He'd have been a goner. He shot back a few spells at the goons before noticing the area becoming more and more crowded by the minute. Avalon had joined them and he felt a smile come to his lips. There was no time to talk- however- they had to keep moving!

There was an older man approaching them and he saw Aboli raise her wand. He was about to reach out to stop her from casting something when more goons showed up. "Diffindo!" he cried, pointing his wand out towards the goons before turning his attention to his right. Yes. There was an ally? He thought an ally there. Noah looked to his right and saw an older man (Primeaux) asking if he and Aboli were okay. He flashed him a brief smile and then Aboli curtly answered him. He stifled a chuckle and coughed before nodding in agreement. He cleared his throat, deflecting a few spells from the Neo goonies. "Mhmm... Like she said.... uh...... bloody brilliant." He couldn't put it better himself. He nodded, biting his lip, turning his attention back to the Neo Alliance peeps. "Thanks for asking. You.. uh... okay... uh, Sir?" he asked, unsure how to call this stranger.

He saw another two men (Tucker and Torrance) join the fight and then Aboli went .... well... He stood there for the briefest of seconds, admiring how attractive and incredibly strong his girlfriend was. Dayuumm... was what he thought and dared not to say at this precise moment. He joined her. "Stupefy!" he shouted before moving his wand and casting a few non-verbals. A smirk snuck onto his lips as he whispered, "Melofors..." His wand pointed right at the Neo-Alliance. Heh. He'd love to see a few of them as pumpkin heads.

Out of the corner of his eye, he swore that he saw someone or something in a hood moving. He twirled around, ready for whoever was behind him (hood or friend) and then paused when he saw... Bernie? What was she doing?

Bernie was feeling her nervous heartbeat in her ears now. Just look at all these spells flying back and forth! Was that Avalon out there?! She had nearly raised her wand arm to join the fray, because OF COURSE she was going to join the fray, when... she felt someone grab her free hand.

She tensed up, of course, the fear and anxiety and general ball of nerves starting to show on her little face. Then, the words sank in.

Oh. Nem. Nem! NEMESIS UPSTEAD! They... what? What were they doing? Did she care?

Nah. Bernie led with her heart, not her head.

"Let's." She nodded to confirm, somehow looking right at the disillusioned Slytherin, and giving said hand a tug. Out the door for more adventures. Not these... stupid life and death ones. Hogwarts was beyond salvation at this point, in her mind.

INFERI! 03-29-2021 04:11 AM

Though their numbers stood greatly diminished by fire, falling, and the eventual collapse of the Wooden Bridge, the dozen smoldering inferi who had made it across the bridge relatively unscathed stumbled into the entrance hall of the castle. They would not give up until each and every inferius had been defeated. Or until their enchantress was dead.

A pair of inferi, still with flames flickering on their extremities, separated from the pack, bumping into walls and anything in their way. They were trying futilely to escape the fire on their own limbs.

The other ten inferi, no longer actively burning, lumbered towards the students fighting in the hall.

NEMESIS UPSTEAD: NEO-ALLIANCE
That was easy, and Nem considered that the most potentially difficult part, getting Bernadette to come with them. They'd half expected her to try and stay and fight, but that was based more on a conversation they'd had at the very start of term. It made sense, they supposed, that as well as avoiding making waves in all this, she might also opt not to surf the ones that did appear.

An interesting turnaround, but then, a fair amount had happened this year. Arguably.

Nem started for the door again, leaning down to murmur inconspicuously in Bernadette's ear again - although, evidently, she had not caught on to the advantages of disillusionment, and how to not be so obvious. "Put a shield up. Blast anyone who tries to stop you." They meant anyone too. Neo-Alliance. Hogwarts Faithful. The... inferi.

Nothing Nem hadn't seen or smelt before, of course. Not even something they hadn't seen or smelt in the last ten minutes. They weren't remotely surprised, either, that some had made it all the way into the castle, nor particularly concerned. Bernadette knew what she was doing, surely.

New plan. Nem corrected their course, pulling Bernadette not towards the door now, but again skirting the fighting, only really needing to line up with and then reach the wall that backed onto the grounds. Far less hassle.

Bernadette seemed to nod numbly to herself, since Nemesis was invisible and all that, and murmured the spell to make her favorite shield charm. She shivered at the sight of the undead rolling into her former home, but she supposed, suddenly, that the sight of them shouldn't matter. Hogwarts hadn't been very kind to her over the past year and now she was leaving it behind forever.

Forever and ever and--- "They smell worse than I do," she murmured to herself. To herself only, of course. Of course Prisoner #24601 would be talking to herself after months of captivation… it just made sense… nothing suspicious to see here, nothing at all.

She was prepared to blast anything at any time always, but she shivered again and gave Nem's hand a squeeze. Bernie didn't ACTUALLY feel like fighting. She was just so done and ready to go. "How am I getting out of here," she added under her breath, glancing toward her invisible friend, or at least, where she thought they were by the hand she was holding. "Where all have you been already?" And couldn't she see them one last time before she left, please?

Julien was impressed by the students wand work. These student seemed to be well aware of what all was going on and he could appreciate it. His heart was racing as he kept fighting the neo-alliance, but it sank a little and had pride when his nephew was next to him. The more family here the more he knew he could lose, but having Torrance there and fighting showed how much the boy had grown and how proud that made Julien feel he probably could never bring into words.

"Keep your eyes open and stay close." He shot a few more defensive spells into the group of alliance follower. What happened next though Julien couldn't even have predicted. The smell hit him first before seeing the inferi coming in. "What the hell?"

He moved quick, because the ones on fire were going to set things in the castle a blaze. "Tor, get the fire out with me." He sent water at the dead and then used a slicing charm to cut their heads off if he could. He had heard the boy asking if he was okay and he nodded, but only a quick nod because these inferi had to be dealt with.

NEMESIS UPSTEAD: NEO-ALLIANCE
They were a bit ripe, yes. "You should have seen the bridge," Nem replied, still quietly, but not trying too hard to murmur given the environment they were both trying to traverse. Chaos covered up most things, particularly conversation, in the sense that not only should it stop others from hearing, but Bernadette might not hear them either, if they were too quiet.

Briefly putting that first question on hold, Nem swerved around a stumbling, burning inferius - and... a jet of water? ... sure - only for a sudden jolt to shoot through their foot again. From the bridge until now, they'd not felt it, or perhaps just been able to ignore it, but the rush of adrenaline was almost over, pain was creeping in (including a new source in their ribs), and exhaustion was threatening to make itself known. Yet here they were, wasting using up these moments on getting Bernadette Grantham out. If ever there was a debt to be repaid...

Still. It worked out in their favour regardless.

Sharing time would come later. Nemesis knew they could get themselves out of this, however it ended, whichever 'side' won, knew there would be future opportunities to talk. They tightened their grip on Bernadette's hand now, and stopped, a short distance from the wall. "Here and there. Get ready to run for the gates." No need to explain when, she'd figure it out. Only telling her the destination had been necessary, in case they got separated out there. Invisible and all. Speaking of.

Moving as quickly as their battered and fatigued body would allow (which was still not exactly a sluggish pace, not just yet) Nem rapped their wand this time on top of Bernadette's head to Disillusion her as well, then turned it onto the wall. "Bombarda Maxima."

The resulting explosion blasted a section of the castle wall outwards (and maybe a little inwards too), freeing up another, much more convenient exit for them. Nem tugged on Bernadette's hand, pulling her that way so that they could flee into the night, ideally before anyone could register her sudden Disillusionment.

back with a vengence (feel free to get hit by a lightning bolt!)

VESNA PETROVA: NEO-ALLIANCE ALIGNED

Her fall to the ravine had been... painful. Vesna had managed to escape the ropes sent out by that blasted auror just before she landed on the rocks, some last minute magic softening her fall... barely. The anger boiling in her blood was one of the few things keeping her alive and ascending up the sides of the ravine to get her sweet, sweet vengeance (which was another thing keeping her alive.

When Vesna made it to the light of the castle again, it was clear that her trip to the ravine had not been a pleasant one. In fact, she looked much like the inferi that crawled their way into the great hall right before her. Her hair was tattered and matted with blood, half of her face was torn and unrecognizable. Her clothes were wet - from either blood or water, who knew - and stray remnants of ropes from the auror's incarcerous spell dragged behind her. By the ragged wheezing in her breathing, it was clear she also had a collapsed lung, probably spiked through by one of the bones in her rib cage.

She was alive, but she looked dead. And SPEAKING of dead.... SHE WANTED EVERYONE DEAD.

The Bulgarian woman, dragged herself into the entrance hall of the castle, where the battle had moved, the visible part of her face distorted into pure anger. The woman spat out a mouth full of blood. Then she let out a blood-curdling battle cry (scream, more like) as she raised her wand towards the sky.

"rrrRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Waving her wand around like a madwoman (which she was, in case you doubted), Vesna channeled all of her anger into sending a storm of lightning bolts all around the hall.

Dara Vitvinina: Neo-Alliance aligned

Dara had managed to make her way through the collapse of the wooden bridge. Her full lips were bruised from landing on a wooden plank, blistering, her robes were scratched in places, and her silk smooth hair was tasseled leaving her to tie it back into a ponytail. Dara had always considered herself the loner of the type, never aligning with any league but her own, calling the shots with secret missions as ambassador. But she was tempted by one thing, the power and wealth. She had a family to care for that would benefit the most from the Greater Good and so she found herself on the line. To protect her son and husband, she had to make a choice and at the time the winning side was for the Greater Good. She was all but forced to go through this alone against her will and if she were to go down for it... at least her family would be safe and learn not to follow her path.

"..Vesna?" Dara turned to her comrade in arms who was not herself. From the looks outside she would've assumed she had perished from that height. Suddenly she was blinded by the rogue lightning bolts, one of which shot her in the arm stunning her.

"OUCH!" Dara then yelled, "You've gone mad, control yourself! Remember the plan!" But that was all she spared before she running off with her wand in hand. Remain control, calm, and collected. Walking calmly, hair was pulled back into a ponytail with her face expressionless. She walked passed some students running before gazing at one adult (Julien), "Obliviate," Dara aimed at the man before throwing a Protego over herself as quick as her arms could cast and then running. Her left shoulder was still momentarily stunned from the lightning earlier.

Neo-Alliance Followers 03-29-2021 09:36 PM

The hooded wizards were becoming less in numbers but they were still fighting. Seeing more students here gave them some delight and one fell being hit by the girl's spell (Aboli) while her partner sent the Cruciatus Curse towards her and the boy. While others laughed at the inferi coming to fight. A few were knocked down by something flying at them. Turning they found the source (Tucker) and sent the killing curse his way.

Seeing lighting flying and spells going this way and that a witch glared at the two men standing near each other and a wicked grin moved across her lips, "Avada Kedavra" she pointed towards the younger of the two.

Noticing a hole being blown from the side of the building a few spells went flying the way of the girl (Bernie). No students are to leave right now.

Bazinga 03-29-2021 09:40 PM

Things just seemed to keep getting worse around here. The alliance seemed to be dwindling, but more kept coming into the castle and then the dead things all around. Julien worked to try to get the fire and take out the dead, but soon he was turned facing the spells yet again. The lighting came close and he dodged it, but then he saw a woman pointing her wand at Torrance.

"Torrance look out." He pushed his nephew out of the way and turned to pull his shield up, but he saw to late another witch sending a spell directed towards him. He only had a moment before the spell hit him and his memory and thoughts stopped and he stood there and blinked. Before he could even finish the blink the killing curse that was intended for his nephew hit him and he fell to the ground.

mentions in PINK

Aboli hadn't noticed Bernie, but if she had, she would been more RAAAAAAAAAAAAGEEEEEEEE at the Neo Alliance minions. MORE people she cared about in the line of fire.

The 7th year Slytherin was SO. DONE.

And if Noah were thinking any thoughts about her, she wasn't observant of that either. Now was not the time to have dreamy THOUGHTS about your partner, Noah Nam! It was time to FEAST ON THE ENEMY. CAUSE PAIN. It did register, however, the drastic difference in the spells Aboli was choosing to cast versus Noah's. She was aiming to hurt and maim - to cause pain, to make them feel the exorbitant amount of loss and hurt Aboli had suffered this final term - HER FINAL TERM - here at Hogwarts. It almost made Aboli soften her blows.

Almost.

That was until the undead, the foul stench of them, drifted into the Entrance Hall with eerie ease. Aboli gasped, having never seen one before in person. Until this point, they had been pictures in a book. While fascinated, Aboli couldn't help that sliver of fear that cascaded down her spine into her fingertips. It turned her cheeks pink, and she tried to push down the gut feeling of dread. "We need to attack with fire!" she shouted at Noah, hoping and the adults would see the inferi soon and start attacking. "Lacarnum Inflamari!" she shouted, aiming her wand tip in the horde of corpses' direction.

She did NOT notice that the older man [Julian] was trying to get the fire OUT because Aboli was trying to KILL THOSE THINGS. Who CARED IF THE SCHOOL BURNED - it hadn't even crossed her mind to NOT try to get the inferi with fire. In hindsight, she might have questioned this decision, but alas.

She did not right now.

There was a boom, and Aboli jumped at the hole in the wall and the falling debris. Who had cast that? Her eyes were all over - there was a CRAZY LADY barging in here INTO THEIR CASTLE TRYING TO BE EVIL and ABOLI GROOOOOOOOWLED!

A lightning bolt barely hit Aboli, but the force of it was enough to send her aside onto her bum. She scrambled up, SCREAAAAAMING back. Aboli cast a biting jinx on a nearby piece of debris, and the thing CHOMP CHOMP CHOMPEDDDDD around before she sent it FLYING at the woman, both hoping it would knock her out AND bite her to bits. TAKE THAT CRAZY STUPID LADY.

She didn't manage to see an Alliance member get hit with one of her hexes, but Aboli sent a SHARP stinging hex at the one who aimed a Crucio at Noah - she had flung herself out of the way to avoid being hit by one herself. It was only once the spell made contact with Noah that Aboli felt more anger coursing through her.

The absolute ripple of previously intangible anger. She was no longer in control of what came out of her mouth - spells, curses, and language alike. "Noah?" she asked, stepping in front of him, producing a shield charm over them both while she assessed his pain.

"The bridge???" Bern's little voice was slightly higher than average with concern for her Nem. "Which bridge, Nem? Tell me you didn't do something stupid...."

She was so caught up in trying to make eye contact with invisible Nem that she nearly flinched and ALMOST punched them in the stomach by reflex when they suddenly tapped her head to make her invisible. But she didn't; she showed remarkable self-control just in time. "Oh. Thank you," she mumbled, squeezing their hand back. Now that she was just focusing back on them and their hand contact, she wasn't so afraid nor jumpy when the hole blasted through the wall.

...but of course the Neo-Alliance had to ruin her plans again. If there was one spell Bernadette was slightly competent at, it was the shield charm. So she saw the spells that ew of a prisoner was sending her way and slightly dodged them, both by stepping closer to/in front of where she thought Nem was standing, and by throwing up a shield charm.

"Uhhh, now what?" She should probably just run, shouldn't she. Her heart was pounding louder than ever in her ears but she was still clinging tightly to Nem's hand. She just didn't want to let this one go.

Uncle Moose 03-30-2021 01:05 AM

Torrance stood beside his Uncle doing his best to keep up with the old man. He was far more talented with Offensive spells than Torrance could ever be but perhaps he could be the support that was needed. Toss up Shield Spells to protect while Uncle Julien sent out the stupefies and the expelliarmuses and all that jazz. "That's the plan!" He retorted. If there was one thing he noticed about himself it was how focused he'd become. His plan to protect was working perfectly until he stopped for just a brief moment. The reeking smell of rotten flesh filled into the space of the Entrance Hall as Inferi came limping into it.

Water? But why? Oh crud...some of the Inferi were on fire!? How...what had? He decided to leave that up to the others. He would keep up support and the Shields.

Besides the inferi making an appearance the Neo-Alliance looked to be dwindling in numbers. One of the ladies looked almost as dead as the undead. He put up a shield to protect Uncle Julien from some of the Lightning but felt himself get shoved to the ground. "Wha!?..." He looked up from the ground. He watched as some other woman had just wiped the mind of the toughest man in their family. "No...!" He was too vulnerable now. He couldn't do anything while on the ground like this. He whipped his wand up to try and throw some protective charm around Uncle Julien but there was a flash of Green Light and Next thing he knew Uncle Julien was on the ground. "NO!" Torrance shouted even louder. He scrambled over to the lifeless body. Grabbing a hold of his shoulders. "no no nonono." He whipped his head up eyes streaming with tears and rage. He looked eyes with the woman who had wiped his mind first. If she hadn't done that. If she hadn't messed with his brain. Uncle Julien could have dodged the Killing Curse. He could have...he definitely could have. He looked toward him once more trying to understand why his last act was to throw him to the ground. He stood over Uncle Julien. No one was going to get near him. No one else was going to touch him. Torrance was so full of rage right now. "Incarcerous!" He shot ropes from his wand toward the fleeing woman who Torrance held most responsible for this death (Dara)! Then followed it up with "Expulso!" a blast of blue light exploded from his wand in her direction next!

Watson 03-30-2021 01:30 AM

Noah optimistically thought that they had a decent chance of survival at the present moment. Well... that was until the undead appeared. He blinked for a moment, lowering his guard, as he eyed the creatures. Wow. They were waaaay uglier in person than in textbooks. And they smelled like rotten flesh.... Meat gone off. He scrunched his nose, trying to hold his breath at their foul smell. Ugh.... a bubblehead charm would have been useful about now. Their smell was only exacerbated by the fact that they were on fire. He rolled his eyes. Of course some of them had to be on fire too. Like Julien, he thought extinguishing the flames was their best course of action. Thus he moved. His eyes widened as he readied an augmenti to fire but then he heard Aboli advising to use fire. “On it.” He nodded, changing course and moving his wand in a whip like wave, sending a non-verbal fire rope towards the inferi. Hopefully he got a few of them. “I think we should switch to...

He didn’t have enough time to finish his sentence before a terrifying growl from a SHE- DEVIL. Who? What? Where? Why was she covered in ..... he couldn’t quite tell but he evaded her attack with a quick protection charm. Lightening cracked, separating him and Aboli for the briefest of minutes. “ABOLI!” he cried as he subconsciously made a potentially fatal mistake as he turned to check on her which led him wide open to be the perfect dummy for the Neo Alliance Goonies’ Cruciartus Curse.

He had been right in his lower abdomen. And every description that he had read in Defense Against the Dark Arts class simply could not do it justice. Oh yes. It was very much worse than the a thousand gif knives slashing into his body. He felt on intense searing pain wash over his very being. It started slowly but exponentially grew in levels until it was unbearable. He shut his eyes (as if that would help the pain) and dropped his wand. His wand and his body hit the hard ground at the same time, producing a thud. Then the pain hit him like a school bus hitting a certain plastic blonde. Yeah. From that movie. Or so he had imagined this is what it must have felt like.

Much worse.

The searing pain erupted across the seventeen year old’s body, causing his muscles to seize and him to crouch over. Every single cell was on fire. He painfully gasped for air to fill his lungs but found barely any to satiate that hunger and stop the pain. He bit his lip, drawing blood as his body involuntarily shook. The blinding pain continued surge, forcing him to take shallow breaths to bear the pain. Fleeting images passed through his mind. Memories combined with his present reality. He felt sick.

Uncontrollable tears rolled down his face as he tried to fight back but failed. Would the pain stop if he couldn’t breath? If it were the end for him would be finally find peace instead of every bone and muscle being simultaneously shocked, burned, and ripped apart.

Eventually it stopped and he gasped for air and finally found it. However, he barely had any strength to stand. Noah found himself grimacing as he willed himself to sit up. He had to get back up and fight. He couldn’t stop and give up right now- even if he wanted too. He really wanted to sleep.... To go home to his family. Hug his parents, his siblings, his friends..... Aboli. No he couldn’t sleep. She was here. So was Minjae. Kimmie too. And his mates. He couldn’t leave them to fight the good fight without him.... Sleep was tempting but he didn’t have plans to be come one of the undead just yet.

The lion boy weakly looked up through heavy eyelids at Aboli before placing one shaky hand on the ground behind him. It took every fibre of his being and his stubborn mind filled with determination to grip his wand. “I-I’m....” His voice was shaky as he willed himself to get up. “I can stand... I think.

———

WHERE WAS TORRANCE SPADES?!? AND HOW AND WHY was he so fast?!? Involuntarily, she pouted. Her little legs couldn’t keep up and besides she wasn’t that short!!!.

She weaved her way in and out of the crowd, dodging and deflecting spells as she charged towards the castle. He had to have made it inside. He would have gone to the action to help.

When she got inside the front door, she looked behind her to find that she had been separated from Simon. She paused, debating about heading back onto the battlefield to find him but stopped. He would be fine. She knew it. Or seriously hoped. She needed to find Tory.

She rounded the corner to find... INFERI ON FIRE?! Students on the ground.... A man collapsed or was he.... Oh no.... Her eyes scanned the scene and then found Tory flinging spells at two women. She paused, not knowing how to react. She had never ever ever seen him so ENRAGED.

Vi readied herself for another fight but quickly cast a shield spell before firing a non-verbal BOMBARDA! at the INFERI before following up with a few stinging hexes and stunners. She had to get to Tory.

Fireheart 03-30-2021 02:21 AM

Perhaps this battle was wearing more on her mentally than she originally thought, because Avalon could have sworn that she just saw Bernadette Grantham under that black cloak. But as soon as Avalon had registered who it was was, the girl disappeared. Or seemed to, at least. Had Avalon just been imagining the whole thing?

There wasn't time to dwell. Because the Inferi had made their way into the castle. Avalon had heard murmurs about them on the bridge while she was in the Great Hall. But seeing them in person, right in front of her, was a whole new horrific experience. "INCENDIO!" she yelled, flicking her wand at the group that was getting terrifyingly close to her. A side glance toward Aboli showed that she had the right idea, too. They needed more fire.

But then, there was a crazy, awful-looking woman joining them. And she was not playing around. She brought a unique fire of her own.

One of the mad woman's lightning bolts barely missed Avalon, striking instead against the metal on the door next to her. The resulting electric force was enough to knock the wind out of the Ravenclaw and throw her to the ground. And then there was a man getting killed. Killed! And then Noah was on the receiving end of a crucio curse.

Avalon was terrified. From the looks of it, there was no way they could overpower all these Inferi and Neo-Alliance members. They were severely outnumbered, and outpowered. Where were the professors? Did anyone else know they were in here, trying to fight them off? Would this be where it all ended? Merlin, she wanted to see her parents again. A part of her hoped they had come here to fight for her. To fight for Hogwarts. But she hadn't seen them yet. Did that mean they didn't come? Or did it mean something entirely worse?

Noah's pained gasping made her shove the avalanche of horrible thoughts out of her head. From her heap on the floor, Avalon managed to retrieve her wand (which had skidded a few inches away from her) and cast a Flipendo toward the Neo-Alliance follower responsible for the unforgivable curse against Noah. She pushed herself back onto her feet, shouting, "BOMBARDA!" toward the Inferi group as she did so. Anything to keep them back. Anything.

humphrey, we're leaving (to the boars!)

NEMESIS UPSTEAD: NEO-ALLIANCE
For the record.

"I don't do stupid things."

So jot that down.

They weren't going to get anywhere by just standing here, especially if Bernadette had been noticed. There was a way out available to them, unimpeded and mere feet away, and they were making use of it. "Now we run."

Nem pulled Bernadette towards the hole in the wall, pulling her through it after them and, no, not letting go of her hand. Yet. Running would be problematic, hand in hand, but they both had the same destination in mind if and when it became necessary to let go. If it came to it, they would regroup at the gates.

"Don't get distracted," Nem said simply, once they were out in the night air, their tone flat and businesslike. Ultimately, if Bernadette got all caught up in a fight, it was unlikely they'd lose sleep over leaving her behind, especially while they were in their current state. She had a brain in her head - somewhere - and should be aware of that, but Merlin knew the girl really was ruled by her heart. That was what made people do stupid things. "And try not to die." With that, they started to run yet again, pushing through the obtrusive pain in their foot, and chest, and... everywhere, through the fatigue trying to drag them down.

Into the darkness Nem hurtled once more, this time pulling Bernadette with them.

INFERI! 03-30-2021 04:14 AM

The water from Lucien's wand quickly quenched the fires on the flaming inferi, and they promptly tripped over their heads and fell when he decapitated them. Two down.

This attack was not very well coordinated, the inferi might have thought if their brains could think. One wizard killing fire with water, others fighting the dead with fire. The flames from the pair of students (Aboli and Noah) took to three inferi, who proceeded to continue wandering the hall trying to attack the living, but now with fire consuming their arms and torsos, and even one of the inferi's legs. They bumped into each other, then bumped into a witch (Vesna) who looked closer to the dead walking than to the living.

The Bombardas being cast by another student (Avalon) and a woman (Vi) were effective...four inferi caught in the two blasts burst into bits, which scattered throughout the entrance hall.

The other three inferi continued to wander the hall, still attempting to wreak havoc on the living, Order or Neo-Alliance alike.

Dara Vitvinina: Neo-Alliance aligned

Dara's fleeing was one of the wisest moves she had committed in the situation. After wiping the older man (Julien)'s mind she turned just as someone else's killing curse hit him, she didn't see it happened, but she heard the younger companion of his cry out in pain.

"He shouldn't have turned his back in a battle," Was her response. Time to go. Dara had enough of this battle and was considering leaving it all to go back home. But she had to carry out the plan, so she built up a quick Protego blocking (Torrance)'s first spell.. But the second one however left her back wide open for the shot. Ironic given her last bit of advice.

"UHH!" Dara felt as if a hammer swung at her back sending her flying into a wall. The impact on the wall was enough force to send her flying again in a pinball fashion. The blunt force against her chest knocked the wind out of her before she flew out of sight out of the hall landing at the doorway. Her eyes fought to remain open as the darkness came to claim her. Eventually, the eyelids won and she closed her eyes rendering her unconscious. She wouldn't be wiping anyone else's mind at this time.

de-cloning a bit

o_______O

Tucker could only watch in slight horror as the younger blonde girl (Aboli) started screaming and basically going insane on the Alliance members. It was great and all, truly admired the enthusiasm and everything but...YIKES. That was slightly terrifying.

His little candle stand stunt earned him a Killing Curse from the Alliance, which he skillfully dodged. He was a Cursebreaker, you couldn't take him down THAT easily! Dodging spells was what he did for a living...

Except, uh, lightning spells apparently.

Letting out a yelp, the bolt from the crazy Alliance witch (Vesna) hit him and threw him back against the wall. Dazed, the man fell to the ground, blinking wildly and trying to shake off the blast as he scrambled to his feet...only to stumble over again. Ok, take it slow. Deep breathes. Slowly the room started to refocus in front of him, but he felt like he'd been hit a truck. Something in his brain told him he needed to get to the Great Hall, he could rest there...stumbling, he managed to make his way out of the battle, seeing stars the whole way as he scrambled to safety.

*from the wooden bridge* (rip)

One thing Bryony was absolutely sure of: that assuming her charm had taken the crazy witch (Vesna) out for good would have been a bad idea. The ravine under the wooden bridge had been too deep for her to get visual proof, and seeing as said bridge was now collapsed into said ravine, again without visual evidence that anyone other than several inferi, Hadley and her former headmistress were at the bottom, she’d chosen to move toward the castle. And, unsurprisingly, her proof that her job wasn’t finished seemed to be in the entrance hall. The witch was not looking too good, either. It was almost funny, except the blonde Auror wasn’t laughing.

She suspected things wouldn’t seem funny for a while, actually. Battle wasn’t amusing. Even dueling wasn’t amusing, but this was on another level of unamusing. Either way, she sent a nonverbal Confringo in the direction of the stumbling inferi (and possibly Vesna), followed by a shield toward the few people she thought she recognized as Order aligned. Plus the students. No kids were going to get hurt on her watch.

Going back into the Great Hall now I guess @_@

Torrance was not done! Uncle Julien still lying at his feet he wanted to throw down more spells at the woman. He watched her block his ropes and was ready to up the lethality of his spells but then she was tossed into a wall by his expulso. His grip on his wand tightened ready to go at it more with her whether she was conscious now or not. He pushed his foot forward but his leg caught on something. He looked down to see what it was. Uncle Julien's arm was laying over his foot. Dammit...dammit you old man. Even in death you keep him in check. The tears stopped for just a moment as he heard Vi. She was in the Entrance Hall. "Vi!" He shouted. "Vi grab that woman!" He pointed toward the hall she had attempted to flee down at toward the unmoving body (Dara). "Tie her up, drag her into the Great Hall! Take her wand off her too!!"

There. He wasn't going to harm the woman any farther. Every fiber in his being wanted to put her through as much pain for what she had done. But, He wasn't going to loose himself over your Death, Uncle Julien. He levitated his body off the ground and slowly backed up. Making his way back into the Great Hall.

Archer: Order-alligned of course!

Two things: one, were those students fighting and two, WERE THOSE INFERI?! Oh Merlin, now she knew what Ronan meant when he said those things were the worst. She could smell them from all the way over by the door. Of course, the stench hadn't been what he had been talking about, but whatever.

Archer dropped the school broom she'd been holding (how else did you expect her to get around the now out-of-order bridge?) and whipped her wand back out, aiming it at the Neo-Alliance Members and casting "Fulgari". Maybe at least one would catch it.

SPOILER!!: the crazy woman

In hindsight. He should have stayed back and gotten some healing. The former Badger Head Boy was really pushing his limit in this battle. Not just him everyone else, He looked around to assess his surroundings. Inferi (again) He recoiled from the rancid smell they were emitting into the Entrance Hall then with his wand threw up "Protego Duo!" Holding off a few bolts of lightning coming from in front of him. He followed the streak of lightning back to it's source and his eyes saw her. (Vesna) The crazed woman from Azkaban who had nearly killed him, killing Tank instead. Then nearly killed him again at the Wooden Bridge.

She looked awful. Like she had been threw much worse than him and he was. Oakey had been in plenty near death experience to know when someone was on their last legs. "Stop!" He shouted toward the murderous woman "Stop, if you keep on like this you'll only kill yourself!" Perhaps if he restrained her. She had to be too weak to fight off any kind of binding if they hit. Then she could go back to Prison.

Firstly "Immobulus!" He cast toward a few Inferi to hold them off in their tracks. Then he turned back toward her. His wand drawn. "Incarcerous!" He sent thick hempen rope from his wand toward the Azkaban Prisoner.

A small smile graced her lips as she and a student's spells destroyed a few inferi. Progress was being made. Small progress. But her attention was back to Torrance fairly quickly as he was yelling at her to grab the woman. She nodded and quickly acted, quickly casting a non-verbal Incarcerous towards said woman (Dara). NO ONE MESSED WITH HER BST FRIEND AND GOT AWAY WITH IT!!!

Vi Salander quickly threw a couple of spells towards the Inferi before realizing that Tory had left. Huh? Where had he gone?

"Need help?" she asked the younger student (Avalon) as she readied her wand, ready to take on more Alliance Members and Inferi.

didn't know where else to put him *shrugs*

Speaking of a certain auror......

Angry, aching and still running on pure adrenaline, Ronan Carter scurried into the Entrance Hall firing spells at anyone obviously on the wrong side. And he wasn't holding back, using the lighter spells, either. Nope, it was Frostbite Hexes, Scorching Spells and Sectumsempra. One couldn't go light with these people, he'd learned that the hard way earlier tonight (by the way, why were all battles at night?). The anger that was giving his spells extra oomph? That came from the fact that he hadn't managed to catch up with a certain vampire or even find him. The auror had headed this way hoping Goldwasser had done the same to join his Alliance buddies, but no sign of the wayward vampire yet. Still, he could be of some help here, more so than at the Ministry.

And no, he hadn't spotted (or smelt) the inferi yet, thankfully.

INFERI! 04-02-2021 11:20 PM

The three inferi who had not yet caught fire were now also burning, thanks to the nonverbal Confringo from the witch Bryony. Now flames blazed on all six inferi, though some were decidedly more scorched than others, relative to how long they’d been on fire.

The freezing charm (Oakey) hit two of the inferi, who immediately stopped bumbling about. Frozen in their tracks, they continued burning, becoming more and more obviously charred as the corpses continued their cremation.

The additional spells from Vi Salander caused the remaining inferi to fall to the floor, where they continued to burn.

As the fires burned on the inferi, even those that hadn’t been immobilized stopped moving. The charred remains of the Neo-Alliance’s victims were no longer viable weapons for the Neo-Alliance’s resident necromancer. As the fires started to burn themselves out on the corpses, the last of the victims’ bodies were freed from the spell. The inferi were no more.

The Narrator 04-03-2021 07:56 AM

Lumbering forward, leaping over rubble, darting around little patches of flame and inferi, and running through the legs of several people appeared a silvery wispy opossum. It scaled several obstacles before settling on a perch to present itself to the rowdy and hostile crowd. And then the voice of the Minister, strained but strong, erupted out of the spirit guardian’s open mouth.
Citizens...supporters and members of the Neo-Alliance...and supporters and members of the Order of the Phoenix alike...please...I implore you, lay down your wands. Lucien Rosier, leader of the Neo-Alliance, has fallen. This battle of divergent ideals and ideologies must cease. The path forward for the Neo-Alliance is at its end … though not without hope for clemency upon negotiation. This war is over. Rise to a higher dignity...and lay down your wands … so that no more of our people must die...so that we may restore peace…
It’s tail uncoiling from around its roost, the opossum began to climb down but dissipated into thin air before reaching the ground.

Neo-Alliance Followers 04-03-2021 01:18 PM

The alliance were fewer and fewer with many being dropped by spells and some even deciding to run early, but the ones that were still fighting were fighting hard. Sending spells out left and right towards anyone, especially the man (Ronan) that was in their way. What caught a few of their attention was when the Inferi were no more and a few slowed up and looked towards each other then the unthinkable happened.

In a moment all their hope drained out of them, in just an instance it was obvious they were not going to win and that their leader was gone. A few witches threw themselves to the ground in sobs, while a few wizards tried to pull them to their feet to get the hell out of there before they were captured. Ones that were aware of what would happen laid down their wands and put their hands up in a surrender, but many took off to get away from the castle and to go into hiding.

lazykitty 04-03-2021 06:47 PM

And just like that, it was done. How anti-climatic, at least from where he was standing.

It was pretty amusing watching all the hope and whatever else was fueling these maniacs drain from their eyes. As well as sad, since if they had only studied history a little closer, they would've realized that their side was going to lose all along. The blood-purists always lose, eventually. No matter how many inferi, vampires or whatever they tried to throw around. Ronan wordlessly summoned the wands of those alliance members who'd willingly laid them down before casting a quick Incarcerous at each of their wrists. No chances were being taken, especially after tonight's events. Or perhaps he should say last night's events, since he could see the sun rising in what he could see of the Great Hall's ceiling. Wow, they had really been at it all night, huh?

Archer's first reaction to the dude come running in at the last minute? "Are you crazy?" But there wasn't much time to think about the mental stability of the newcomer and of course, extra help was always appreciated. Key word there was 'was', since there came a patronus announcing that....the war was over? Just like that? Apparently, since all the dirty alliance members were either scrambling to run or dropping their wands. Okay, then.

It was with this end in fighting that she recognized the newcomer. "Ronan! Where have you been all night?" she asked, running over and wrapping her arms around him.
