Just across the corridor from the locker rooms you'll see a door with an etched name plate on the center of it: 'Healer A. M. Adara'. When Professor Adara is not maintaining the pitch or helping the injured up in the hospital wing, you might find her doing dreaded paperwork in this office. As she bustles back and forth between the pitch and the hospital wing, appointments are strongly recommended, which can be made by simply leaving your name on the magical clipboard hooked just outside the door and will alert the Healer as to your presence. A memo will be sent promptly if she's available now or when she would like to meet with you.
If she's not in her office, don't think you can get away with any funny business in the locker room either.
Speaking of her office, it's simply decorated with a desk, a few chairs, and a bookshelf filled with both medical books and quidditch books. While it's no Hospital Wing, she's got a first aid kit available for quick emergencies that are needed from the Quidditch Pitch. Along with pictures of dashing husband and beautiful children and grandson.

It was the beginning of term, and naturally Cordelia found herself down at the healer and flying instructor’s office. Were they supposed to call her professor or healer? The first year probably had more reasons than most of her classmates to end up here. Cordelia had brought with her a bag that had CORDELIA WINKLEBLECK written on it in large letters. Noticing the clipboard outside the office, Cordelia wrote her name down. Was the professor in? With two positions, the professor was sure to be busy. Professor Adara was sure to be the best professor in the entire school as the flying instructor. Flying was so fun! This was the subject Cordelia was most excited for. She had all kinds of questions to ask about flying. Her actual serious reasons for being here were far more boring, but completely necessary. Those reasons pertained more to the healer part of the professor’s position here. In her relatively short life, Cordelia had seen far too many doctors and healers.

The paper magicked itself away from the clipboard fluttering toward the fourth floor corridor, where Amelia had been leaving the Hospital Wing. Reading the memo, she wrote back on it 'on my way', as those words quickly appeared on the clipboard...

A minutes later, the redhead appeared in the corridor on the grounds. "You must be Cordelia?" she said, pleasantly, pressing her wand up to the door handle to unlock it (not with alohomora as that would not have been secure enough, but her own method of security connected to her wand). Noticing the bag in her hand, she nodded at. She was caught up on the girl's medical files when she accepted the healer role and received that information, so she wasn't in the least bit surprised to see her here. Although she had been slightly surprised to see her on the tryouts list, given her file information but it would hopefully be beneficial to her.
"Do come in. Have a seat. Can I get you anything? Water? Tea?"

Cordelia fiddled with the chain on her medical alert bracelet and glanced around at the area outside the healer’s office while she waited. A few minutes later, Healer Adara showed up. ”That’s me!” Cordelia grinned. The healer knew her name! The bag with her name on it was probably a dead giveaway, not to mention that she had written her name on the clipboard.
Woah, the door opened with magic! Cool! At the healer’s instruction, Cordelia came in to the office and took a seat on one of the chairs. ”Tea, please.” Accepting if someone offered her tea was the polite thing to do, yes? Not that Cordelia cared at all about manners. To cut to the chase, Cordelia held up the bag she had brought with her. ”This is for you. Emergency diabetes supplies.” Inside the bag was a full diabetes emergency care kit including but not limited to a glucometer, test strips, a lancing device, clean lancets, a blood ketone meter and the test strips for that, extra insulin pump supplies, syringes, an emergency glucagon kit, sources of fast acting glucose, other snacks, and a water bottle. Insulin itself was something that needed to be kept cold but never frozen, so that had its own box that was charmed to keep it at the right temperature. Hopefully these supplies would never actually need to be used, but the healer should have emergency supplies just in case. ”And, um, sometimes I might need to eat snacks in class or any other times I might be flying my blood sugar up.” Cordelia was well aware of the rule that said no food unless you have a medical exception, and this was definitely a medical exception situation. Wouldn’t want to pass out from low blood sugar and falloff her broom. Flying was likely to be the class where being able to eat snacks was most important, as exercise was likely to lower her blood sugar. How convenient that the healer was also the flying instructor.

Oh well that was a relief that her charmed parchment worked well in alerting her to the correct student. She took in the first year and her apparent eagerness, recalling her own children's delight at being at Hogwarts for the first time and then the first time she herself flew on a broom. Seemed like a lifetime ago.
"Ah thank you" Amelia said, casting the warming spell on a tea kettle and then pouring the young Gryffindor a cup. She listened as she explained her needs and nodded, making a mental note to inform the other professors of the needs in case situation should warrant it. "I would recommend not eating while flying though and let's make sure you check your blood sugar after a short flight just to be safe." Because yes, last thing one needed was passing out while on the broom. High altitude did things to ones brain...."Do you have any concerns about flying?" Because Amelia was going to assume she had never ridden a broom before.

Bel had one broom over each shoulder as she approached the professor's office so she didn't have any hands free to bother with the clipboard, but that was okay since given tryouts had just finished she expected the flying professor would be on hand. She kinda kicked at the door, trying to make it as gentle as a knock but it did sound a bit like an attempt to kick the door down all the same. Whoops. No harm done to the door though.
Or the brooms. Those were in good hands, deffo.

Amelia had of course been expecting Bel, having surveyed at each of the tryouts herself. Although it wasn't as if she told the captain to come but given certain paramounts, it was definitely expected. What wasn't expected was hearing a swift quick to the door in which Amelia jumped up.
Guess it made sense if it was Bel, hands full and all. Captain Macindoe, hello! she greeted of the sixth year after pulling the door open. "Eventful tryouts?" she wondered if the boys complained too much but really they both ought to have known better. It had been that rule for centuries about no first years can have their own broom and it wasn't as if neither one was muggleborn.

Okay. Wait was it normal for students to just carry copies of their exam grades around?? Merlin, apparently thirty years and the pressure was quite intense. She definitely didn't remember it being THAT intense.
Taking the parchment, she glanced it over, nodding approvingly. "These are very impressive, Prefect Swann. I think if you do as well on your NEWTs in those subjects your got Os and Es in, you should have no trouble being accepted into the school of your choosing" Or well at least she assumed so, but evidently competition was intense these days. Probably why Chloe didn't bother university.

Eventful tryouts? Bel supposed so, all tryouts were an event in and of themselves, weren't they? The Hufflepuff captain had a specific reason for being here, not so much related to the tryouts themselves.
"Oh, yep! It was great! Except that Maxie and Ronan brought their own brooms- and well, they're first years, ya know? So I confiscated them." She felt a BIT bad about it, but they'd done fine on the school brooms anyway. "I promised I'd hand these over to you directly, so they'd be taken care of. I think they were a bit nervous about it." So... she looked around. Where should she put them?
"And I was wondering, professor, I mean I dunno yet about if I'll put them on the team or not, haven't really made any decisions yet and all, but if I do, can we get special permission for them to use their own brooms?" They would be more comfortable, she was sure, but it also wouldn't do them any HARM to use the school brooms... the school brooms weren't rubbish at all.

"Ah yes, thank you." Amelia nodded at the Hufflepuff Captain, although surely she knew that she already knew, because she'd been watching, but if she didn't... well, it didn't really matter anyway.
Listening to her request, she nodded thoughtfully. "Yes that makes sense and definitely something I would have to first bring up to the headmaster, as rules are rules, but exceptions can always be made to rules. Although, if they do make the team and are approved to use their own broom for practices and matches, then they are still required to store the brooms in the broomshed." As was everyone else. Just so that was clear. That wasn't a rule that would be changed, as far as she knew because they didn't need brooms in their dormitories and flying about the castle. Even as sweet as that might have sounded to fly to the Divination tower instead of taking the staircases. ************ Quote:

"Okay, bonza! Thanks Professor Adara." Bel said, knowing the two boys brooms would be in good hands regardless of whether or not they made the team. Speaking of... she had to go over her notes about tryouts so she'd have something to present to Professor Adara regarding the possible roster.
"So I'll leave them with you then? For now. At least until we decide more?" And.... she kinda needed to go shower, unless there was something else. Then she could start putting her mind to things. It was exciting, really!

She nodded, "yes definitely and I will speak to the headmaster once the roster is complete and see if arrangements could be made. No guarantees of course. Is that all?" it seemed like she was itching to go at least, but who knew. Perhaps another last minute comment that crossed her mind?
