For Kalen. It was late in the evening, dinner had already been cleaned up, and Tristan just needed some peace. For some reason he couldn't get it in his hut. He wasn't exactly sure why when it had been a place of solace for so long. This new...regime has put him on high alert. He was angry at everything that had happened so far, and worried about other things. He hadn't worried about job security ever and now...well he was hoping that wouldn't be an issue. After the Inferi attack last term, he was sure his anxiety had gone away, but with Scrimgeour around he could feel it welling back up inside of him. Not nearly as bad as it had been that night, but bad enough for him to take notice. Tristan sighed, and sat himself down cross-legged on the floor of the boathouse, and started picking at a string on his jacket waiting for his anxiety relief to get here. |

He wasn’t happy about anything that had been happening lately. The new headmaster, running at 6 am, being up in general at 6 am. He taught Astronomy at midnight for Merlin’s sake. Early mornings were not a thing for him. Why do you think he picked the class to teach with the absolute latest time to start possible? He stifled a yawn as he walked down towards the boathouse and smiled softly as he saw who was sitting there, despite his earlier seething while drinking tea. He was still very glad to see Tristan and his green eyes lit up a bit as he did so “Hey you.” He walked in and sat down on the floor next to him. “You Okay?” |

"Could be better. Long day?" He asked noting how tired the other man was, his worry crease instantly showed itself between his eyebrows. He was sure these new morning antics were really going to exhaust Kalen seeing as his lessons were at Midnight every night. He bumped the other man with his shoulder, "We don't have to stay long if your tired." He just needed some time after the crap show of a day he'd had. |

“Yeah? Wanna tell me about it?” He asked softly as he moved a hand up and gently touched it to Tristan’s forehead, as if he was trying to soothe out the worry crease he saw there. He had seen it too many times in the past few days, and he wasn’t happy about that. He dropped his hand down to his own lap after a moment though. “A bit of a long day. I’ve decided to move my classes to 8 or 9, pending permission of course. It seems cruel to keep the kids up until 1 in the morning, just to have them wake up at 6.” It also pained him to know that he wasn’t going to have a decent nights sleep for the rest of the term. Kalen smiled as the other man nudged his shoulder. “Shhh, I’m fine, and I want to be here with you.” He said with a soft grin. |

At that revelation, Tristan eyebrows furrowed again, "I can't say I blame you, but it sucks that you have to do that. Isn't that peak time to look at stars?" He wasn't great at Astronomy, he liked it and yes did needed to know some of it for creature purposes, but he wasn't sure about everything. Maybe he needed to do a little studying of his own... Tristan smiled wide. Kalen making time for him was always nice. "Only if your sure. Your lesson starts in what 2 hours?" He hadn't checked his watch to see what time it was, but knew it had to be getting late. |

NOT IMPRESSED. It seemed like that was going to be his motto this term, the new headmaster was awful, his new wake up time was nearly unbearable and Kalen was almost tempted to stay in bed as an act of defiance. Almost. He turned his attention back to Tristan as he smiled and he felt his heart warm a bit at that. “Much better.” He said softly before sighing and running a hand through his hair. “Mmmm, it is. But I don’t want exhausted children in my class, they will learn nothing, and if they don’t get enough sleep, what good will they be the next day? It’ll be a vicious cycle, one I don’t want to perpetuate.” Was he going to tell the headmaster about this.. probably not. The odds of him getting permission were low anyways. “Always sure. ” He said with a warm smile as he checked his watch. “I’ve got three hours, the night is young. ” He said with a soft laugh. |

Tristan smiled a little wider at that comment. Though, unfortunately, it was short lived. He watched as Kalen put a hand through his hair, one of many nervous ticks. He looked so tired and worried, which made Tristan do the same. Tristan nodded and listened. "I agree. The kids were so exhausted today. I don't understand how waking them up that early just to run is healthy for them." He sighed shaking he head. "I hope you get permission. They need sleep...and so do you." He said pointedly. Tristan gave him a beaming smile at that, giving him a good nudge with his shoulder. "Oh, three whole hours! Whatever are you to do with yourself?" He said with a chuckle. |

To him. So take that tea drinking wannabe. Okayyyyy, so maybe there was some spot of green on him? He would just pass it off as his Slytherin colors were showing. Eh hem. Klein frowned though as he heard what they had talked about and he instantly wanted to level a stinging hex at Foster for bringing up that extremely traumatizing time. He would not forget the sight of Tristan on the hill, crying and being unable to breathe due to his anxiety attack. Even now his green eyes were bright with worry, as if he was seeing that sight instead of the one before him. He sighed and gently touched Tristan’s hand. “Next time tell him to go find someone else to talk to. And not to stress you out, promise or no promise.” He said seriously. He ran a hand through his own hair and sighed a bit, he didn’t want to talk about school right now. “Come on, lets go take a walk or something, or get some tea and watch the sky and I’ll point out constellations that you’ll forget the names of tomorrow. ” He said softly. He didn’t want to wallow. |

Tristan sighed, looking down at his hands. He knew Foster hadn't meant to dredge up anything hurtful...he didn't tell the man what he had been through personally...just the facts. As Kalen's hand touched his, Tristan looked over at him with a gentle smile. "Yes, sir. But...I didn't talk to him about what I went through. I don't think his intentions were harmful, he just wanted to understand better, that's all." The fact that Kalen was being completely overprotective didn't bother him in the slightest. Had the roles been reversed...Tristan would have been the same way, possibly even worse. Chuckling at that next request, Tristan looked over at Kalen with a soft smile. "Tea, please. I've had enough walking for the day. What was that one constellation you were showing me the other night? Orick?" He said feigning ignorance, while pursing his lips trying not to grin and failing miserably. He wasn't ignoring the other man's frustration...he was just trying to ease it so he could see that brilliant smile again. |
Quote:
Ah well. He was glad to see a smile grace Tris’s lips and he shook his head. “Still though, brining up something like that is bound to be traumatic, lets hope he doesn’t ask any of the kids or Gaston about it.” The last thing that man needed was to talk about what happened. Oh good Merlin.. Kalens green eyes rolled up to the heavens as he heard Tristan speak and call Orion, his favorite constellation ever, Orick. “It’s a good thing you are so cute. ” Kalen said teasingly back. He shook his head and tried not to laugh as well. |
Quote:
He could read the utter exasperation rolling over Kalen at that little mistake and he chuckled at his rolling eyes. He knew it was Orion and Kalen's favorite constellation...he just wanted to get the other man to lighten up a little. "That is very true." He said with another chuckle, before pushing himself up off the ground. He dusted his hands off before offering one to help the other man up. "Shall we? Some Chai is calling my name right about now." He said with a smirk. |
Quote:
Kalen still couldn’t even wrap his head around what happened to Gaston, not with penny being such an amazing healer and all that. And St.Mungo’s? He couldn’t help but feel a little less bad for the man, if he didn’t want to get help. Because it looked like he has either skipped the healers or gone to a muggle doctor. And if you didn’t get yourself help, all you have to blame was yourself. Kalen wouldn’t say any of this out loud though and he certainly hadn’t divulged any of this to Tris. “Mmm, lets hope he doesn’t. ” Was all he really had to say about that. He smiled as Tristan chuckled and he took the other man’s hand and got up himself, dusting his jeans off as he did so. “Yes we shall, let’s get you your chai, and me ny earl grey and watch the sky for a few hours. ” Hopefully that would help relax them. |

With that he made his way to the exit, and headed towards the castle, wondering what trials this term would behold. |
Amy/Slate After a Care of magical creatures lesson the sixth year headed down the boathouse. Maybe this would be a good place to just relax and breathe. So far this term had been… well insane. All of the new rules, new changes and staff changes. It was only the beginning of November and it already felt like the longest year ever. She walked into the boathouse, Maybe she should ask Baldvinsson if she could use one of the boats someone to take out on the lake. Maybe before it started freezing or later when it was warmer. Climbing into one of the empty boats. She wasn’t planning on getting in and leaving. She was just going to sit there for a while. Read a book, work on homework maybe even right a letter. Or something else. It was just nice to be out. |

Honestly. It was so stuffy and restrictive he feel like he might actually die at any second. As he was walking, his eyes spotted a certain Ravenclaw Captain and he couldn't help but grin. He made his way toward her, careful to keep a certain distance. "Cap." he said in greeting. |

She was just about to get up and head back into the castle, or at least move closer to the castle. She was going to get up and get out of the boat when she heard a voice that made her smile to herself. She grinned up at the Slytherin. Hi.” She really hadn’t seen him much outside of class. It was weird all of the new rules and not even being allowed to hold hands. |
