Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop

Madam Puddifoot's is laid out in a typical English tea room fashion. Lace doilies cover each table on top of the flower patterned table cloths. In the middle of each is a contained candle, ready to be lit for those on a romantic retreat. The windows are half covered by fancy net curtains, leaving just enough room at the top to see over and down Hogsmeade's High Street. Little flower and heart covered cushions are on each seat awaiting your arrival.

The shopkeeper, a descendant of the original owner, keeps the shop this way because she has to. She has no desire to look upon all the fancy decorations herself, which is why you'll most likely find her in the back room. She'll come and serve you when you ring the bell on the counter, but make sure you know what you want to order as she doesn't have all day. Keep your snogging to a minimum unless you want to be kicked out.

Patrick walked into the shop thrilled to have a second away from school but more than that he was thrilled to have a second to enjoy some apple pie. It seemed these days he was so tired and run down he never got a chance to get anything sweet and he felt terrible askin for pie in the kitchen before curfew. Sitting down at a table near the window he watched his fellow students milling about and tried to decide what he wanted today... although he rarely got something different than apple pie.

The weather was still much cooler than he cared for, and the soggy ground did nothing to encourage him to remain outside any longer than necessary. To escape the dull March weather, Foster decided to pop in for a cup of tea and a sweet treat. Upon entering, he hung his cloak on the rack and headed towards an empty table near the window. "Mr. Dooley" he greeted with a nod as he passed the young Slytherin.

Once settled in his far too frilly chair, he looked over the menu, finally deciding on a croissant and a cup of tea. His stomach was still in knots with worry over what was happening. If anything happened to them, he would never forgive himself.

Patrick glanced up as one of his professors walked by him. He had already decided on the apple pie once he sat down. Although it wasn’t his mamaws pie but it was delicious either way. He was ready for his summer back in the states. A summer of baseball, family, and the farm. Although he supposed that his summer or anywhere other than hogwarts would be better since he wouldn’t have to worry about getting a detention or anything.

He looked up at his professor and finally greeted the man “Professor Davis” he glanced out the window and back at his professor, “great day for a sweet.” he nodded an acknowledgment to him and pointed to the sweets in the cabinet.

He nodded at Patrick. "It is a great day for sweets. I'm afraid our lack of snacks around Hogwarts has only increased my craving for...less than nutritious treats." Foster gestured to his croissant, it's flaky buttery layers begging to be eaten. "Are you dining alone today, Mr. Dooley?" Madam Puddifoot's was far quieter than usual. Maybe a bit too quiet. It made him wonder if he should finish up his treat and do a bit more monitoring of the area. There were a lot more places for the students to get into trouble at Hogsmeade over Hogwarts, and far less eyes watching over them.

Patrick blushed, “Yes sir. Not many of my friends enjoy Apple pie the way that I do. My grandmother makes one of the best but the pie here is pretty spot on.” he nodded at the mention of lack of snacks. He felt terrible going to the kitchen anymore. It felt as if he was being watched. Patrick eyes scanned the professors movements, wondering if he was going to last the full term and if he was going to make it through next year. He seemed to really get along with the Headmaster and if he didn’t return... well there was no telling what would happen.

Apple pie. That was one of Jenny's favorite desserts. She had to have a giant scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top of warm apple pie. He hated that so many things still made him think of her. "A good slice of apple pie is a treat. I do think your friends are missing out." He picked up the Daily Prophet from the table and flipped through a few of the pages before landing on an interesting article. After reading a few paragraphs, he looked up again. Madame Puddifoot's was uncommonly low on students, and it was making him rather uncomfortable. He folded and placed the paper down. "Well, Mr. Dooley, I'm going to be on my way. I do hope you enjoy the day." With that, he picked up his cloak from the chair next to him and headed towards the door.
