Entrance Hall https://s26.postimg.org/m3f6ra4d5/en...all-banner.jpg Whether you are brand new to Hogwarts or have been here a while, the Entrance Hall is always a breath-taking sight to see. Always memorable are the high ceilings, the colourful portraits on the walls, and the grand marble staircase. Various torches light the large room, keeping it nice and cozy at all times of the year. Arched windows atop the staircase, featuring the four Hogwarts Founders in all of their glory, bring in natural lighting as well. |
It was the start of a new term, and Sylvia was rather happy and excited about it. Students were returning, and soon enough she would see their delightful faces as they went to enjoy a wonderful prepared feast. In preparation for their arrival, she had spent the last while getting Hogwarts into tip top shape, loving the use of magic to help her with all the spots that had been way too difficult for her to reach on her own. Of course she had been blessed with short height, and couldn't reach much above her five foot two inches frame. Of course she made up for her stature with her energy and excitement when it came to life! "Good evening, all!" she announced. "I will gladly take your bags and help you with anything else I can assist with." Being her usual cheerful self and doing whatever she could to assist students - within her power, of course. |
The boat ride had been AMAZING. He had never been on a small boat before, scratch that he had never been on any kind of boat before so the experience had been great for him. He remembered his granddad telling him how he had gotten sick by the swaying of the boat he had been in ,it had not ended well according to him. Dorian chuckled at his own thoughts and hoisted his bag higher up on his shoulders and dragged his luggage with his other hand. He had no time to look around and see the beauty of the school just yet as his whole focus was on trying not to trip over the other luggages that were left there by the other students who were already inside another room. He could hear the chatter on the other side of that door and he wondered why he and the other first years could not enter yet. A voice turned his thoughts away and he looked over to a short, red haired woman. She seemed nice already in his opinion. He wondered what she taught... "Excuse me, professor" he said, waving his hand. "Do you have to bring our stuff to our dorms all alone?" That was horrible! |
Not sure what time frame this is but YOLO xD Quote:
He had just tossed his red owl into the air to make its way to the Owlery when he turned to come face to face with the lady Caretaker. Gosh he missed Flynn posthumously, but its so much more pleasant to see this woman's cheerful face "Oh hey there Ms Grimblehawk!" the Curly Top greeted brightly "Sorry I just had to make sure my pets arent at each others' throats again." he grinned as he nudged his head back at his trunk. "How was your summer Ma'am? Anything interesting happening here in Hogwarts when we're not here?" |
Oh, looking here! There was a little one now; Sylvia would have to guess that this boy was a Forst Year. He was certainly new to Hogwarts. "Hello, dearie!" she said cheerfully. "I'm actually the caretaker, but you will find the professors inside the Great Hall." If he wanted to see them and say hello before heading up to his dorm. Of course after the sorting and speech. That always came first. "I do, but it's not so bad for me because I have magic on my side." She gave the boy a knowing wink before smiling at another new arrival. "Evening, Mr Salander!" Always such a polite boy. The students really made Sylvia's heart happy. Though of course the creature thing did cause her to raise her eyebrows. "Reminds me of Newt Scamander." Had he been told that already? If not, she was saying it now. "My summer was lovely! Not too much happened here, but I did talk to the ghosts quite a bit." Especially the Friar because he was her kind of person... errrr ghost. "Did you have a fun summer as well?" The young ones must get up to a lot. |
