Honeydukes http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/...pscvzczv8o.png Honeydukes is the greatest (and only) candy shop in Hogsmeade that never has a quiet day. Knowing that the place is famous for its chocolate and other sugary delights that are too scrumptious to resist, students and adults alike flock to this shop to satisfy their sweet tooth. If you were to peek through the window, you will witness shelves full of hundreds of candy jars and boxes as well as a large crowd of customers greedily snatching them before they all run out. |
Kyle stepped into Honeydukes out of breath, but he'd managed to get there first! Probably because each boy had to slow down a little as they looked through the signs to find the place. His eyes widened at the wide selection of candy available, causing him to pause before leaving the doorway. |
Jace ran full into the back of Klye, "Hey why'd you..." he lost the abilty to speak when he saw all of the candy. |
Kyle looked back and saw the look on Jace's face, then grinned. "I know, right? Come on!" He grabbed Jace's hand and led the way further into the store so neither of them would get run into. Or in his case, run into again. He grinned when he saw the samples laid out. "Let's see what they've got over here!" |
" I have never even dreamed of place like this. My dad would flip his lid if he knew i was in here." Jace murmured looking around. "Samples?" He inquired as they drew near, "Really? they offer samples?" He sighed contentedly, "I never want to leave." |
Kyle grinned. "Big candy kid, huh? Why wouldn't your dad want you in here? Eat too many sweets?" He looked over the selection of samples and picked up a jelly slug. Shrugging he gave it a try, then smiled. "Hey Jace, if you haven't had one of these, you should try one." |
"Big sweet tooth, poor impulse control, bad brushing habits..." JAce smiled as he popped a jelly slug in his mouth, "The list goes on. They are really big on accuracy with these." Jace spotted a niche candy at the back of the tray and popped a very small piece in his mouth. "Nope still none of mom in me." He smiled at Kyle, "I wouldn't recommend that one..." |
Kyle blinked at what Jace and tried, and eyed it suspiciously. "Yeah, I don't think that would be my first choice anyway." He looked at the samples of chocolate frogs. "It's too bad they cut them up." He picked up a piece of foot and popped it into his mouth. "It's good though." He looked at the samples of Every Flavor Beans and tried to figure out which one was what. "I've always been tempted to try these, but I'm afraid I'll get something like vomit." |
"I had a cousin try them once, he got vomit, said 'ew vomit' then grabbed another one identicle to the vomit one." He shook his head, "Dumbest smart guy i know." |
Kyle couldn't help laughing at that. Who would purposefully go for a vomit flavored jelly bean? Well, apparently someone would. "You have some interesting family, dude." He picked out a green jelly bean and gave it a try, thinking that would be a safe bet. "I think this is grass... Not that I've eaten grass before." He paused. "That I can remember, anyway." He made his way over to a shelf and blinked. "Wow, you can buy a pound of fudge for a galleon. That's insane..." He looked over at Jace. "Wanna split the cost?" he grinned. "Think we could finish off a pound of fudge together by the end of the day?" |
"The grass is very interesting, they got the whole smell/flavor combo with that one..." He popped a green one, "Oh apple!" He grinned like the cat that ate the cannery, "only a pound?" |
"Okay, I guess at least a pound for each of us. I probably shouldn't have any more than that." Kyle grabbed a few chocolate frogs and a pound of chocolate dragon fudge, then looked around. "I forgot to check if there were baskets to carry stuff in..." He went back to the front of the store, picked up a basket for each of them, and put the fudge and chocolate frogs into one of them. Returning to Jace, he handed the empty basket out to the other boy. "I'm probably going to get a little of everything at this rate." |
Jace sighed and took the basket. "Ya i gonna try to stick to the hard candies and the pound of fudge of course...Harder to OD on that way." He pulled down a pound of fudge for himself and grabbed several of the fire and ice lollys. |
Finally, after too much curiosity, Kyle reached over and tried a sample piece of a blood pop. He blinked. "Actually, that's not too bad." He got a few and added them to his basket, then looked at the fire and ice lollies that Jace got. He added some of those to his basket as well, then grabbed some sugar quills. "I never thought about ODing on candy..." He eyed the packets of Every Flavor Beans, then decided against it. Of course Jace got apple and he got grass. It would figure. But that could happen to anyone, right? He decided against the jelly beans and got some toffee instead. At least he knew what to expect with that. After some consideration, he got some cherry-centered truffles as well. Looking in his basket he muttered, "I'm probably going to make myself sick with this stuff..." |
Jace laughed at his friend, "Yes you will if you it all at once," He also picked up some sugar quills and threw some good old muggle rock candy in his basket, at least he hoped it was the muggle candy... |
"I'll pace myself... mostly." Kyle laughed. He added some fizzing whizzbees to his basket for good measure. "Alright, let's pay for this stuff before I go overboard." |
"Before...My friend your are there," Jace stuck his tongue out at Kyle. "Lets jet." |
Kyle only grinned at his friend then went up to the counter. He payed for his sweets, watched them get bagged, and carried the bags away from the counter to wait for his friend. |
Jace payed for his sweets, had them bagged and turned around to kyle, "you ready?" |
Kyle nodded. "Three Broomsticks, next? I think a butterbeer and shepard's pie is in order." |
"Always have a good food and drink base before starting on a sugar binge." Jace smiled and started off for the three broomsticks. |
Raven Manuela was not about to admit this to anyone, but the map she'd carefully drawn from data collected from several Hogwarts students had turned out to be a total bust. Several wrong turns had been taken, some of which had led her almost halfway back to the castle while the other had directed her to the place they called the Shrieking Shack. Then she'd somehow added three additional streets, which had confused her for no less than fifteen minutes. At which point she had to admit it would be better to join a random group of students to the village and call it a day. It hadn't been fun. She shoved the map in the nearest bin she found, and ran into the first shop she spotted. It was...candy? Not bad. Honeyduke, apparently, a charming name if not a liiiiiittle bit in the nose. ...Was that chocolate? |

Being a sweet tooth (and practically omnivore), Evan decided to visit that shop. Perhaps he could get some British-kind sweets that he had never tried before. Kathleen Yang did give him some like ice mice to try before that he liked and he wanted to try some other more. Especially some Hogwarts students seemed obsessed with chocolate frogs and sugar quills. Hopefully Evan had enough galleons for the sweets haul kind of thing. And Manuela was also there. The Horned Serpent greeted his fellow, who seemed alone. "Fancy seeing you here." He grinned sheepishly. "Do you want to come inside or just waiting for a miracle here?" |
Erik! Theo! Iselda Howell had been accompanied here by one of her older brothers. And the break from schooling was very much welcome. She would be seeing her Gran later, for dinner, and she found she actually missed her a whole lot more than she thought she would. Durmstrang was harsh. It was rules...rules rules. Her Gran had prepared her well...but she had not prepared her for how disrespectful other people could be. So it was only a half shocking situation. Other than that, She loved Durmstrang. And she was here to meet...THEEEEOOOO! She was nervous. Very, very nervous. Like....;fheiruhierhgv. He was supposed to be outside Honeydukes. So here she waited, right out front. Diligently, dutifully. |
Quote:
Oh there she was already there. "Seldy!, whoa you got here fast. How have you been" And they should probably go in right???? |
Quote:
Ah! There he was! Seldy jumped and hugged him. "Theo!" she smiled alllllll big. "Yeah! My brother's around here somewhere." All of her brothers were from her father's first marriage, so they were all older. Like, waaaaaay older. Later 20s. Maybe even in their 30s now, she couldn't remember. "I've been good!" She waited for him to push open the door so he could then hold it open for her. That was his job. Not hers. But she smiled. "And you?" |
Quote:
It shouldn't have been a surprise either that the person spotting her in question was someone she knew. It wasn't like Ilvermornians, just like her, weren't eager to discover every single secret Hogsmeade had to offer. Neither really should have been a surprise, really. And yet. Manuela almost did jump but managed to stop herself, somewhat. This resulted on her stumbling forward, a little, and having to grasp on to Evan's shoulder to regain her balance. She pulled back, embarrassed, and showing as much of it on her cheeks. "Maybe the miracle has arrived." She grinned, joking. "You still owe me, Evan. Do they sell bubble tea here or is it just like...enough chocolate to give us diabetes?" Bubble tea. Chocolate. Either was a good choice. |
Quote:
When she was almost stumbling, Evan reflexively grabbed her waist and had a moment or two of eye contact with his fellow horned serpent, just like the scene of some Korean drama that his mother loved to watch. Woah, wake up! This was real life, okay? He let out a chuckle when she mentioned that the miracle had arrived. Did she mean him? Okay, Evan did not understand if that was a good thing or not but... Let's just assume that it was a good thing. "The bubble tea? Well... I don't think they have them here, but the coffee shop back at our beetle does." And it was totally a savior of his days. He didn't know what would happen if there's no bubble tea ever, probably Evan would bug his mother or uncle to send one every day or week at least. "But if you want chocolate... The Hogwarts kids said that this place is the best place to get them." And he wanted to prove it whether it was a fact or just a rumor. "Come on." Evan grabbed her hand and entered the Honeydukes. |
Oh, students! Maisie loved Hogsmeade weekends because it meant that she got a lot of customers, and most of them were children. She could still remember when she was there age like it was yesterday, and now she got to provide candy for them. Sometimes she wished that she had children of her own, but really it made her happy enough to make them smile with the different sweets she provided for them. Seeing some customers, she headed out of the back room with a smile on her face and some merchandise in hand. "Hello! Can I help anyone today?" Maisie knew that sometimes people weren't sure what candy they wanted, and she could help there maybe. Still smiling, she started placing the different candies onto the displays. |
+ Maisie mention! Quote:
It wasn't like friends grew in mango trees. It was important to keep the few she did have. "What?" She answered, a little distractedly, smiling at the woman she could only assume was the shopkeeper. "Oh, Alohomocha." Briefly, she frowned. "I don't go there if I can help it. Looks like the kinda place Khalil Jordan probably trolls at." Generally speaking, Khalil Jordan had an impressive face, but Manuela found him quite unpleasant. Largely because she could not understand how anyone could be as confident in his skin and as openly brash without losing his charm as the older boy appeared to be. It was disturbing to witness. "I've only met one Hogwarts kid and he never mentioned this place." Then again, Takeru hadn't really mentioned a whole lot. Though he'd certainly done a lot of watching. "He was very... English." Whatever that meant. And it was probably an inaccurate description, anyway. And for all she knew he was Scottish. Or Ireland. It was only now that Manuela was beginning to realize there really was no such thing as a homogeneous British accent. "Oohhh." She said, looking at the woman who was clearly the shopkeeper. "Hi. No. Or yes." She shot Evan a look. "I don't think so, ma'am. We're just browsing to see what piques or interest and stuff." |
SPOILER!!: shopkeeper and Manuela That eye contact was totally no intention, ahem. And that holding also was just a friendly gesture kind of thing. Okay, let's just focus on the sweets. When they were coming in, there was a friendly woman who greeted them both. Ah, she might be the shopkeeper of this place. "Hmm..." Evan just scanned around the shop aisle. Merlin, there were so many selections here. "Which one is the most favorite from here?" Let's be real, he would not have so many galleons for getting all of them. Huh. Why in the world she avoided Alohomocha? That little coffee place seemed a saviour for the Ilvermornies, especially those caffeine junkies. "Yeah, right." He nodded. Perhaps because of that older student, those Hogwartians thought that all the Ilvermorny students were like him which was... not really true. "I only come there like... once a day or in two days." It was quite weird to be there but not ordering coffee because he's not a coffee drinker. Of course that his uncles mocked him about this but his tongue just didn't appreciate the bitterness. "Actually, my uncle mentioned about this place. He said that this is the most favorite place in Hogsmeade." Aside the Three Broomsticks, but Evan could see why the students loved Honeydukes. "Don't you want to get something? It's my treat." He said to Manuela. |
Quote:
She let go of Evan's hand and set off to roaming, expecting him to follow. "Should I try the Bertie Bott's... stuff? It's British and we're in Britain, so..." Her tone was clearly dubious. Some of the potential flavors were appealing but then ear wax was also one of the options and that was a cause of concern. Manuela tucked a box under her arm anyway. "We can share!" Executive decisions could be made, of course, even if he was the way paying. Or probably because of it. Heh. ..."Coconut ice!!!!" |
Quote:
Bertie Botts. Yeah, he occasionally saw the Hogwarts students had this. "I think you should try it since we're in Britain now, so why don't we try those stuffs that probably we won't find back home?" Although this stuffs was also known for having an unpredictable flavor like vomit or even liver. Hhhhh... But it seemed like the possibility of getting a gross flavor was not as huge as the normal one, right? Why on earth they created a stuff with the proportion of gross thing is bigger than the delicious normal one? "Good idea. I am going to get the chocolate frogs then... and sugar quills" Coconut ice? That sounded interesting. "Do you want to get that too?" |
Quote:
"Come on, i hope some good seats are left. Sorry" Oh right, she had to go in before him. Riiiiight. |
Quote:
The smell of the candy shop hit her like a train. It was wonderful! And it reminded her of her Aunt Irene's bakery, in Ireland. Eden's mum. IT SMELLED SO GLORIOUS that she closed her eyes and took it all in. "Wow. Théo...it smells...like smells I'v never SMELLED before! I just want to eat it all right now!" She bounced a little. "Show me. What's your favorite candy?" |
Maisie smiled and nodded at the one girl (Manuela). "Alright. Well, I'm here if you change you mind," she said kindly. She hadn't seen either her, or the other boy (Evan) in here before; or maybe she had and her brain was just not working properly. That happened to her sometimes and was rather unavoidable. The question was rather interesting and Maisie had to think for a moment before answering. "Chocolate Frogs always do very well. I would have to say that they are the top seller here." Or at the very least one of them. People sure loved chocolate. |
Quote:
Manuela turned to stare at Evan as her eyebrows rose in question. "Did your uncle get a lot of teenagers knocking on his door to share his teenage drama with him?" It felt like a fair question to ask, considering. Were Hogwarts students really that friendly with their professors, though? Enough that they would consider sharing their personal problems with them? Manuela could not even imagine telling her own parents about anything important. Which said a lot more about her than it did about them, really (MAYBE) but who was counting??? Anyway. "I think we should get a little bit of everything and then we can throw everything in a bowl and eat from there." Perfectly sound plan. She went to grab some Peppermint Humbugs and Licorice wands. "I'll pay for half, it's fine. If we're getting a sugar overdose that will make us bounce off the beetle then I might as well be half responsible for it." |
Quote:
Théo had already forgotten the name to the thing so what she was calling it is what he would have. It was a long name and well you cant blame Théo for that. "Yeah its weird. They are sooo loud especially the ones that sit by me when i eat and blast really old music. Its cool and weird. Oh their accents are amazing" He wished he could get an american accent. Though his mum would kill him if he came home talking like one. The second year gryffindor mouth was starting to water just smelling all the candy. Théo smiled since well she is not wrong. "Ok come on. First we will get some fizzing whizbees" Théo took her hand and lead with the where they were in the shop. "You have had these before right?" |
Slate and Amy! It was a Hogsmeade weekdend and here she was. She still had money left over from her Christmas presents. Plus her mother had give her money to spend for the weekend. So her plan was to spend all of her money on candy at Honeydukes. Juni was looking around the candy deciding on what she wanted to buy first. She stopped to look at all of the flavors of fudge. Of course she had to get some of the fudge it looked so good and sugary. Heheheh Her parents would never know. |
Quote:
As he wandered he spotted... "Juni!" he exclaimed. "Figured I'd run into you here." |
Quote:
What if it was the jelly from a fish. GROSS! Anyway she turned quickly when she heard her name. With a big smile on her face "Slate. Yeah you know I'd have to come here first right?" She gave her friend a hug. It was Slateypoo, though she did refrain from calling him that now. It kinds of made things awkward and Juni did not like that feeling... a lot especially with Slate. Girl and boys could since be friends with being all lovey dovey and kissy kissy. Other kids her age was obsessed wit it. Nope not her. |
Anybody? Yay, another Hogsmeade weekend!Emma had been looking forward to this visit for weeks. There was still so much of the village she had yet to explore and so little time to do it. Her goal was to see every inch of Hogmeade before she had to go back to Ilvermorny! And as an added bonus, today was Valentine's Day. And you know what that meant? LOTS AND LOTS OF CHOCOLATE! The blonde Thunderbird had heard about Honeydukes from the Hogwarts students (and her Aunt Dory, of course!) , but she'd never actually been inside the store before. She looked around the shop, taking in all the bright colors. No wonder Aunt Dory liked this place so much! "Hello?" she said to the shopkeeper and anyone else in the store who was listening before going to peruse the displays. Ooh, so many choices! What kind of candy should she get? |
And here come the students! Maisie really DID love this time of term because it meant more customers for her. Bring them coming!! "Hello, dears!" she said cheerfully as she stepped out of the back room and made her way towards the small group of students who were gathered. At the last minute she stumbled and fell forward into the display of Chocolate Frogs. "I really need to pay better attention to where I am going..." |
After a few minutes of looking, Emma selected a few giant gumballs and some jelly slugs. She was going to a different area of the shop to check out the handmade candies- particularly the chocolates because YUM! - when she saw a lady (Maisie) step out of the back room. She must work here! The blonde Thunderbird gave the woman a friendly smile and wave. "Hello," she said. "I'm Emma -" But before she could finish speaking, the shopkeeper lady fell into a display of chocolate frogs. "Whoa! Are you okay, ma'am?" she asked, looking at the woman with concern. She wasn't hurt, was she? |
Quote:
"What are you thinking of getting?" he asked leaning around her and taking a look at the section she was standing in front of. And more importantly, what should he get? Maybe they could do the thing where they each bought stuff and then split it later? And they'd just ignore what day of the year it was since supposedly candy with friends wasn't allowed? |
Quote:
Maisie was not so young anymore, and she also wasn't gifted with healing charms. That meant that she was going to have to go about things the muggle way and let nature take its course. No matter, because there was a girl who seemed to be worried. Not good to let the young ones thing that something was seriously wrong. "I think I'll live, Emma. Thanks for the concern. I was just born clumsy." Slowly she picked herself off of the ground and smoothed out her clothing. With a tittering sound she looked at all the mess around her. Now THAT she knew how to clean up with magic. She sent Emma a smile. What a sweet girl! |
