Potions Lesson 1
|
Potions wasn't Noelle's strong suit. That's why she had Noah. He was the potion guru. But class was a must, and a big must for several reasons. One being that her HoH was the professor. Two: you needed top scores in what she wanted to do after she got out of Hogwarts. And Three: it was useful in a lot of things in daily life. It was best to pay attention. Noelle made her way into the potions classroom and smiled brightly at Professor Newtom. "Looking dashing today Professor. As well as Madam Curie." She proceeded to grab a lab coat. Pink. Because cute and it was somewhat different. The containers were curious. Noelle took a glance at them before grabbing a seat. |
He supposed it was strange that he had no real feelings regarding potions. Like, zero. It was almost like a glorified cooking class in Tak's opinion. It was simply mixed with magic and a lot of math. Making his way into the class the third year grabbed a faded pink lab coat and settled himself into the back row. His eyes flickered over to the containers at the front, curious as to wha was in them- but not curious enough to say hi. Oh, yeah- you didn't get a hello Professor. Or not even a glance. He was more focused on the containers. |
Potions wasn't her favorite subject, but it was at least pretty convenient when she was coming from her common room, so there was something good about it at least. "Good morning, Professor and Madame Curie." Rula offered a small, polite smile before grabbing a lab coat. One of the pink ones. She actually thought those looked nice. Then she took a seat at the nearest empty table. |
claimed!! Quote:
"Hello Professor Newton. Madam Curie. Hope you're both... MERLIN what is that smell? Did someone burn mint leaves? Sheesh. You should totally get some air circulating, Professor, " she said she let her eyes scan the room. RULA! RULA RULA RULA! Dora made a beeline for her friend and sat in the empty seat next to her. She LOVER Rula so much! The brunette never tired of Dora!hugs EVER. Never ever. So it was with that thought in mind that the Gryffindor gave her a side hug and a giggle. "Hey. You okay?" |
Kimi made his way into Potions for the first lesson of the year and smiled at the Professor and said "Hello Professor" Kimi made his way to one of the free seats and pulled his textbook out of his bag and waited for the lesson to begin |
Potions. It along with charms was easily Az's favorite class and the third year happily moved into the class room with a wide smile on her face. "Hello Professor Newton! " She said with a grin as she took a bit of a breath, well where was that when she had her cold a few days ago? She took a deep breath and inhaled deeply letting the menthol clear her lungs and nose. She looked around and then spotted Noelle! She eagerly moved over to her bestie and hugged her tightly. "Hey, how's it going? Ready for potions? " She asked with a grin as she slipped into her pink lab coat. |
What is that smell? Curious Jace made a nice turn towards the Potions door, and stopped dead on his tracks when he saw Professor Newton holding up Madame Curie. Okay, he has nothing against pets...but rats? Nu-uh. Clearing his throat, Jace showed himself inside the room...not that curious with the potion up front...at least for now, and said his greetings to the old man. "Hello, professor." The Ravenclaw grinned at the man...and just...side-eyed Madame Curie. He was sure it's the friendliest rat around but...a rat is a rat okay? Sorry, Madame. The thirteen year old went on to get his lab coat...and gave out an exasperated sigh when he saw it was pink too. Pursing his lips, he donned on his coat and absent-mindedly took a seat near the front of the classroom. |
Potions. Paige had somehow squeaked by with an A on her Potions OWL, which she still owed to Maddie's tutoring, and had since then been on the steady incline pushing towards an E. receiving an O on her NEWTs was a bit too optimistic, even for somehow who saw the glass halffull as often as Paige Skeeter did. "Good day, professor," she greeted with a nervous smile as she approached her usual station towards the front and a bit to the right. The color of the brew before the man did not go unnoticed, but she could think of several potions with that kind of color that it could be so there were no real assumptions made on her part - although Camraderie Concoction or one of the six possible outcomes of the Emotional Change Potion were appealing options. Smells wafting from the cauldron where a bit difficult to decipher to offer any more clues, unless the smell of menthol WAS part of it. No pink coat for her, although she did have some growing concerns about cleanliness with those who did have pink ones, and she finished buttoning hers up as she slid into her seat and got her station set up. |
POTIONS POTIONS POTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! Landon was waiting outside the door for the doors to open and when they did he almost stormed the room down. His FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!! He went over to the lab coats and grabbed himself a PINK one because he was a MAN and men wear PINK! Plus maybe the girls would love it.... maybe not.. or maybe he'd make such a mistake that he spills it on himself and turns the coat WHITE again! his mind was buzzing with ideas as he flaunted back to the front, in the middle and took a seat just there. "Goood Day, Professor!" His mood, Cheery as ever, he was EXCITED, lets start now! |
I'm seeing a trend starting to develop! Potions. May this potions lesson go better than all those that have come before it. Amen. As one could imagine, this subject wasn't the most promising for those with attention issues. And ... Well, Olivia was a walking attention issue. So, there was that. BUT SHE WAS DEAD SET on doing better this term. Not only for the sake of her mother's bargain, but because she truly wanted to. It was really complicated and dumb, but she needed to know that she could be smart. For herself, you know? Obviously, as she sashayed into the potions classroom, there was an extra air of sassiness in her step. It was meant to voice her confidence for the day. She was here. She was ready to learn. She believed in herself. Quote:
Ahem. "Hello." Instead of the blonde's usual blustering tone, this greeting was decidedly ..... quiet. Calm. Reserved. "Is it okay if I sit with you?" She was asking, but had already taken a seat, pulling out her notebook and glitter pen. |
Genny was not on a hurry when she entered the classroom this time. She walked through the open doors and smiled over to the professor. "Hello, sir." A timid greeting not because she was timid but because she sort of lost 50 points for her house because of an anger episode. Ahem. Sorry. Didn't mean to. Grabbing a white coat, she walked further in completely ignoring the Spitter (Tak) and settling down on an empty seat. She did not spot Brooklyn in this class yet, sad. |
The random surprise of pink laundry and therefore getting a lot of practice with color-changing charms notwithstanding, Brooklyn walked over to the Potions classroom in a relatively positive mood. Potions was her best class, after all, even if she still didn’t exactly trust Professor Newton not to inadvertently poison them again. She’d gotten to the point of focusing on the subject not the professor there, even though she respected the fact he respected her abilities. After all, he had named her as one of the best students last term. She had to acknowledge that. The overwhelming scent of menthol hit her practically from the doorway, but she ignored it as she made her way over to pick up a thankfully white lab coat and then headed for her usual seat. “Good day, Professor Newton. Madame Curie,” she said, giving the older man a nod. By now she’d just accepted the rat as always going to be there, so she figured she might as well acknowledge it too. Once she was settled in her seat, she began taking her supplies out and getting ready for the lesson. There wasn’t anything else to do. |
Quote:
The second year beamed as she came into the classroom. "Good day Professor!" She murmured, as she went and got herself a lab coat. She picked pink because she liked pink! And now she needed a seat. She looked around the room, before going to sit down next to Noelle. "Hi Noelle" She liked Noelle and so was happy to get to sit next to her. |
Potions was a class that Mason had enjoyed even back at Durmstrang so when he learned he had it today, the Ravenclaw made his way to the dungeons. Despite having left early because the classroom was all the way downstairs and his common room all the way upstairs, he still arrived a few minutes before class which was not his usual thing as he liked to read before it started. Sighing as he entered, the first thing Mason noticed was the smell. A strong minty smell which to him wasn't unpleasant. He then walked up to grab a white lab coat and after putting it on he remembered he hadn't greeted the Professor yet. Oops. "Good day, Professor" he greeted the man and as his eyes looked at the sealed containers and then the yellowish potion and pointed at it. "Is that felix felicis?" he asked curiously. |
He knows its been several weeks into the semester, but Tenacius is still getting a kick out of the fact that the Potions Master is also their Head of House. Everything about Potions is still the same…. but also different? Special? His dad said the same thing during his Slytherin days. Thing is his dad also said some things about the Potions stock room and well…. lets just say theres a good reason why Tenacius wasn’t sorted into the Snake house. "Hullo Professor Newton, Madame Curie ….." the leonine lad greeted them cheerfully before getting a healthy whiff of that menthol-y aroma. Hello Bengay hotel! Keeping that grin plastered on his face as he fought to keep his eyes from painfully tearing up, he scurried towards the coat rack as soon as the Professor allowed him to take his leave. Hastily he grabbed a lab coat-- which was pink-- and just used it to cover his nose. Hey at least it smelled clean. |
Harvey walked into the class and stopped. And stared. He was greeted with a sight of pink. The lab coats were pink. Well, some of them. He wasn't quite sure how he felt about that, and decided to avoid them. There was something... unnerving about that much pink. "Good morning Professor, and Madame Curie," he said, as he picked a chair and wondered what the potion in the cauldron was. |
Time for Potions. One of Hady's favorites lately. The older she got and the better she got a brewing her own potions the more she enjoyed it. Pulling her long brunette hair from her face she tied it up into a ponytail with the use of a scrunchy she had around her wrist. She then proceeded to quickly braided it tying it off with a small hair-tie just as she entered the room. Grabbing one of the white lab coats she slipped it on, shifting her bag to her other hand as she did so. "Hello Professor, Madame Curie," she greeted warmly buttoning up her lab coat as she made her way deeper into the room. The closer to got to the front the easier it was for the scent of menthol to hit her nose. Honestly she was so used to the smell from having visited Art many times, lessons, and in the potions lab she almost didn't notice it. Glancing the mans way she gave him another warm smile, "Are you having knee trouble again professor? Maybe there's something the Healer can give you?" You know if that menthol he was using wasn't doing the trick. Hopefully Art was alright, yes? He was one of the few that were still here that she knew decently well. Slipping down into her seat she quietly went about setting up her work space and making sure everything was properly cleaned and as it should be. |

Nonetheless, she frowned a little as she walked over to get her lab coat after greeting Professor Newton with a smile. Somehow she'd managed to get an A on her Potions OWL so she was still here. Go her. Not that she'd really NEED the class. Or the NEWT. Or her OWLs for that matter. Who needed good grades when you had a clever boyfriend? Certainly not Magdalena Natalie Traulton. Seeing as most of the seats were either already occupied or near people she most certainly did NOT want to sit with, Maggie ended up in a seat next to Paige's. Not that the Hufflepuff was particularly someone she wanted to sit with but it was the least horrible scenario in this case. Nonetheless, Maggie didn't greet her or anything. Polite ignorance had gotten her this far after all. It worked. Even if there was nobody left at Hogwarts who would scold her if she were to be rude to Paige. |
b/c I like awkward.. lol (Mentions of a Paige/Maggie, Hady) Quote:
Potions... Natalia liked this class, because it didn't need super fancy way to hard wand waving and it was close to her dorm. So she didn't have to walk to far to find her bed afterwards if she was just to over it to continue the day. She was feeling a bit more upbeat lately thanks to a friend, so as she walked into the potions room she carried a smile and looked around for a seat. "Hello Professor, how are you today?" His pet got a smile as well before she turned to find a seat. Whelp it seemed the seat next to Paige had been taken by.... Maggie? They were friends? That seemed weird, but not weird. Paige seemed to be friends with everyone. Though Nat did give curious looks before turning and giving Hady a wave. "I finished the posters if you want to stop by my room today to look them over." The Sirens loved to get people together so it wasn't a surprised they were planning right from the train. Turning she took an empty seat and it wasn't until she put her bag down that she realized Brooklynn was sitting there. "Hi" Why wasn't Maggie sitting with her? They were very cosy at the feast for at least a few moments. She actually felt bad about the pumpkin juice, but had never truly apologized and probably wasn't going to. Turning to her table she laid out her things to be ready for class. |
Potions. Hadley was actually excited for potions. Between her tutoring over the summer, and her private tutoring with Professor Newton, Hads was sure she was gonna rock this class. Er...at least not make a total disaster of it. Hopefully. "Hey Professor. Hey Madame Curie." Her eyes lingered a moment on Professor Newton seated behind his desk. Why was he sitting? Normally he stood as they were entering. Last time he was sitting, she ended up seven years old. This bodes well. Hadley didn't ask though. Instead she turned and grabbed her surprisingly white lab coat and made her way over to Ace. "Sizzling Salamander." She plopped down next to him. "Ready for potions?" |
One of her favorite classes she loved potions and she was very curious on what they'd be learning today. Echo had been cold earlier in the morning so she broght a heavy coat and now she was even more glad, man it was so cold down here. Thr classoon was a bit warmer but why was she always so cold? Making her way through the doors she noticed that alot of classmates where alreadyb heere. " Hi Professor and madam Curie" Echo gave a little bow their way. She was just so in love with madam Curie, but she highly doubted that Klein wold be so affectionate. |
Junia couldn't help but wonder how often Madame Curie's fur ended up in a potion by mistake. Didn't seem practical to have a pet in a potions lesson, honestly, but she kept her thoughts to herself as she slipped on a white lab coat. Easier not to lose points that way. "Hello Professor," She gave a small, polite smile before peeking at the potion. "Looks happy." The liquid. Like a puffer might've brewed it. Very Hufflepuff looking potion. Interesting. Rula already had a Dora to look after her and Junia didn't want to seem like a baby by sitting too close to her big sis. Instead, she settled on a seat a bit behind her, out of the way enough that she was independent....but close enough that she could whisper any questions she might have and still be heard by the older Botros girl. |
Potion time! A lesson she found difficult but one she liked altogether. And... The professor was cool because he had a RAT! Leesha loved rats! So when she entered the classroom she stopped before the professor and smiled widely. "Hello professor and hello Madame Curie" said Leesha smiling even wider. "I need to say that I really love you rat, she's cool, almost as cool as mine! You know that I have ar rat too right?" She spoke excitedly. Everyone who owned a rat was cool, even adults! The rat owner was cool just because of the rat and not otherwise around! Humming softly to herself she looked around her and saw to her relief that there were still a few normal and NOT pink coats over and she hasted herself to get one. Pink was no cool color and she didn't wanted to wear one if she didn't needed to do it! |
Potions. It's a hard subject and that's a fact. Sean finds this subject hard but he needs to be ready for his OWLs and especially with the laboratory one. He's ready to learn but he is definitely not too excited about this one. Can't they just go out and play instead? The Potions classroom is the nearest one to the Slytherin common room so he didn't need to run. He casually walked to the open door and gave the professor a smile "Hello there, Professor" and to his rat "and Madame Curie". Rats are cool and adorable pets. If only he had one but his parents didn't want him to buy one. So unfair. He made his way and sat on the chair. Yup, definitely ready for this class. |
