Include as much information as you can about the spell in the spoiler section at the bottom of your post, including the directionality of the spell.
Also remember to be as realistic as possible with your charrie's age and ability.
First person mentioned in the thread title is the first person to start off the duel.
.......at least this duel was going to be against someone she actually liked.
Mostly anyway.
Frankie was alright. Like, he WAS Hady's boyfriend after all. And Zeke's friend. Which reminded her, she still hadn't asked him if Frankie would be his best man at a wedding. Now was probably the wrong time to address this, though. After this duel maybe. Depending on the outcome she could use the duel to her advantage. Not that she'd quite decided how to feel about the possibility.
ANYWAY.
Duel. Happening.
"Hey." Maggie's lips curled into a small smirk as she bowed politely once they'd gotten ready. If that duel against Paige had taught her one thing it was not to use that Jelly-Brain Jinx. It made people VERY unpredictable. And unpredictable was bad. It made things so...hard to predict you know. So she went with something more straightforward to start them off:
A Stinging Jinx.

After losing his last duel (against Hady, which was fine by him), Frankie had been taking some extra time to practice. There were only so many in his year he hadn't duelled yet, but he was determined to give them everything he got. Unfortunately for the person on the other side of the arena, there wasn't going to be a Mr. Nice Guy. The Auror-to-be meant business this time. There were no distractions or having to duel against his girlfriend to throw him off.
When he say the name next to his on the duelling roster, the blond instantly felt confident in himself. He had dueled against Maggie before and the results of that duel were inevitable. He had crushed her, and, as he walked over to go through the pre-duel etiquette, he was tempted to bring that up. In the end he decided that today wouldn't be a day to give the Slytherin trash talk. Their last duel together had been two years ago, which meant that she might've had a few tricks up her sleeve. Not as many as he had, but a few nonetheless.
"Hello, Maggie," he replied as he bowed, a matching smirk o his face. "Good luck." She was going to need it.
As they walked back to their beginning positions, already the first incantations that would be coming from him were at the forefront of his mind and were waiting to roll off his tongue. If he knew anything about Maggie, he knew that she would start them off on a fairly light note by trying to knock him over or something.
She surprised him though. He wasn't quite expecting a strong Stining Jinx to be casted at him. But, as the white light of the spell shot toward him, he had already shouted out "Protego!" The jinx making a loud noise when it made contact with the invisible shield before ricocheting, which was when he quietly stated, "Fulgari." Seconds after the rebounding jinx, luminous cords viciously shot out of the boy's wand and headed straight for Maggie's arms.

The thing about duels was that while her opponents had of course been different ones, there were certain similarities between the duels. Like, how the first spell almost always came right back at you. People were still attentive and were expecting the spells to be heading their way. So. Your own spells coming back at your face was a recurring theme it seemed.
Which was why Maggie was PREPARED!
Yes.
Totally.
The skillful dueler that she was (ahem), she ducked out of the way and immediately cast a "Protego!" around herself, just in case Frankie decided that offense was his thing too. Which it was, apparently. She hadn't had time to cast the shield charm strongly enough to make the spell rebound but it did its job nonetheless. She liked her arms to be able to move freely, thank you very much.
If there was another thing she'd learned over the past few years it was that distractions worked wonders. Mostly on herself but shh. So after quickly taking a few steps (always keep moving you know!) Maggie raised her wand and conjured up a few birds. Pretty, huh? Look at the pretty birds! Hoping that Frankie would be distracted by the birds in the air (and maybe expecting THEM to attack) Maggie then added a non-verbal Leg-Locker Curse.

It had been a while since the two had duelled against each other and currently, Hirsch was trying not to remember that last duel. No, this was a new duel and a new start and there was no need to think about taking each other out completely.
Got it? Good.
While he held a high regard for Frankie - sorry, Miss Traulton - the man couldn't help but notice how much more advanced the Slytherin had gotten in her duelling ability. Sure, the years of education did that but this was different. It was as if the girl was trying to get back at the previous duel and give Frankie a challenge.
Again, good.
Unfortunately, the duel was cut a little too short than he would've liked. The shield was struck up a little after the birds were conjured but it was enough to save Frankie from the Leg Locker Curse. You're welcome, Paton. "Excellent! Well done, both of you," he said, stepping out towards them, "But Frankie, you've taken the lead in this duel. Congratulations!" Smile. "And well done, Miss Traulton. You've really grown in your duelling."
