The Forbidden Forest

http://i1026.photobucket.com/albums/...psengan9vj.png
Also known as the Dark Forest, it borders the edges of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry grounds. The forest is a very old place that holds many secrets and houses many creatures, some dark and dangerous, others friendly. The dense and rough looking trees in the forest and black flowers are considered ancient having hundreds of years of exposure to the elements. Not a likely scenario for any picnic dwelling here.

After all the events from previous terms you wouldn't dare step foot inside.. would you?

For Steely/Tenacius

Hadley Denaker wasn't actually trying to get into the Forbidden Forest...Not this time at least. She still planned on it one day, but not today.

Nope.

Hadley Denaker was having a picnic. No one was invited, but anyone could join if they wanted to, as long as they didn't mind eating so close to the Forest's edge. She had transfigured a Ravenclaw Tower library book into a picnic basket, which she totally planned on turning back into a book when she was done. She was thinking Hop on Pop instead of the boring book it had been.

She had her basket, filled with food and drink from the kitchen. A blanket. Asher her ferret. And she had set up her picnic area in direct view of the Groundkeeper's hut, just to ruffle the man's feathers a bit. It was a beautiful day.

Steelsheen 05-08-2016 07:42 PM

Teeheheeee

Now if there was one place about Hogwarts he wished he explored further last term it was the Forbidden Forest. So many stories, so many warnings, so visibly dark and well..... forbidding.

Whats not to like eh? It’s a total vacation brochure to a Gryffindor.

So there the curly top went moseying around, pretending to be out for a walk-- which technically he was-- whilst trying to take a peek at the inviting mystery that lay beyond the tree line. Walk... peek... walk...peek.... tiptoe closer... then back off... walk.. peek.. walk--

-- stub toe.

"Oww!" he muttered hopping on his other foot. What was that? Wait there was someone here?? "Ey whut Denaker? What are you do-- wait are you having a picnic?" By the forest no less? Doesn’t she know its forbidden? As a member of the House of Lions known for their courage and chivalry, there is only one this he has to say about this....

"You got any sandwiches in there? I'm a little hungry."

Callie 05-08-2016 08:11 PM

"Salamander!" She toasted the young lion boy--boy because he wasn't thirteen yet, and she was--with her butterbeer.

This was just more obvious proof she was truly a Gryffindor. No why? No lectures about how dangerous it might be. Nope. Just Pass me a sandwich. Gryffindors were her people. "Of course I do! Pick your poison. There's..." she dug into the basket, checking out what sandwiches there. "Uh, PB and J, tuna, ham, turkey, grilled cheese and my favorite, Philly Cheesesteak." The last one she had to get them to make a few special. Thankfully, her mother being a professional chef meant Hadley knew recipes fairly well. Even if any attempt she herself made to cook those recipes needed to be disposed of as toxic waste...she still knew them and was able to tell the house elves how too. "I highly recommend it. We also have bags of home-made...well, house elf made, chips. Both American kind and British kind." In other words, crisps and fries. "And two thermoses of butterbeer. Help yourself." She gestured for him to have a seat.

"If you were planning to sneak into the Forest, I'd advise somewhere else, and waiting until McLeod is out of his hut first." She gave the boy a nonchalant shrug. "Got caught trying to sneak in right about here last year. He didn't believe we were having a party, so now I'm having a picnic." She toasted the Groundskeeper's Hut. Was he watching this? She was at the edge of the Forest, but she wasn't going in. Nope. It really was a party this time. Well, picnic. But still. Nothing he could do about it. She might have been grinning her signature devious smirk right now. Maybe.

Steelsheen 05-09-2016 05:09 AM

"Daayyyyymm that’s some stash Denaker..." this girl knew how to picnic! "Awwyea-- them Phillys got my name on it thanks!" He plopped himself down next to her grabbing a handful of crispy chips. Crunch crunch crunching away "This is quite the picnic spot you picked Haddie. Some might say it’s a very subtle way of Gryffindoring." Which is unheard of. Gryffindor and subtle don’t usually belong in the same sentence.

"Also, I wasn’t trying to sneak in...." he started between a mouthful of fries "I was just trying to sightsee, like fer reals." Nod nod totally true. "There are Centaurs here, and at some point Hogwarts took in some Abraxans. I just wanna see if I could get lucky and spot one." Or both. Or a herd. But you know-- something.

But wait, full stop, delayed realization kicking in "Just a sec-- you were already here last term, not just trying to sneak in but having a party even?" Is she being serious? "And why wasn’t I invited?" Because clearly invites to a party at the forbidden forest was totally of a more pressing matter than sweating out the details of safety and security. "Is that the party where your t-shirt came from, the one you wore on the train?" Clearly he was very amused with it.

Callie 05-09-2016 06:15 AM

Haddie nodded. "I know how to picnic. They used to be a thing in family, like, five years ago? Four? Some where around then." She took another bite of her own philly cheesesteak. Got to give the House elfs credit. They knew how to cook. "Gryffindoring?" That was a new term for her, but whatever it meant she was sure she was going to like it.

"Really?" Just wandering around trying to get a look in? Come on, Ten, you could do better than that. "Abraxans?" She knew what centaurs were. Even if she wasn't a greek mythology closet nut, she'd know what those were, but Abraxans, no idea.

Hadley laughed and shook her head at the over-exaggerated interpretation of what she was saying or at least trying to say. "Well first, I hadn't met you yet. But if I ever do have a Forbidden Forest party, you'll get invited. Don't worry." She paused long enough to enjoy a few fries and and a swig of butterbeer. "And we were only trying to sneak in and explore. Well, I was. Rachel was reluctant. McLeod caught us and said something like," she put on her best McLeod voice, "'Having a party are we?' And I just played along with that, and he took points for 'lying.' So, now," Hadley grinned and gestured around them. "We're having a picnic and he can't do anything, because we aren't actually trying to sneak in, and we're really having a picnic." Why, you might be wondering? We'll mostly she was bored.

"Ah," she grinned, a bit sheepishly, and yet not sheepish at all. "No, the shirt was just me expressing that I have absolutely no business being in Ravenclaw. I mean the House is great, if you belong in it..." She shrugged. "Dad got me a t-shirt maker as a forgiveness bribe."

Mason!

Melbourne Johanson was going adventuring. Really, was there any question that the now second year wouldn’t go on a few little adventures? She had slowly walked from the school around the grounds before she neared the forest and tiptoed past the hunky slytherin head of house’s hut…really, it was kind of silly that he still lived outside of the castle when all of his charges lived IN the castle.

Still she needed this. An adventure. Something fun and exhilarating that possibly could make the second year’s experience at the school. Dashing forward she stopped at the edge of the forest and looked about it didn’t look like anyone was near there…but wait? There were voices…slipping behind a tree she ducked behind a tree and glanced around trying to find the voices before she continued on her little treck. This time, she was ready for whatever was to come, her wand was holstered on her hip and she was ready!

It wasn't as if Mason was a stalker. No way. . . but when she saw Mel creeping past McDreamboat's cabin, she knew that something was up. And it wasn't like she had been outside for any weird reasons, she had been walking back from the Pitch, her broom and beater-club already stored. That's when she saw the Gryffindor, not even wearing her robes, headed towards the Forest.

So naturally, unable to contain her curiosity, Mason abandoned her treck back to the castle, pursuing Mel instead. She crept a few yards behind the girl, softly and swiftly, making sure that she wasn't spotted. There wasn't much hiding place for if Mel were to turn around, but the girl didn't seen to notice as Mason crept behind her. She followed her until they reached the Edge of the Forest, her heart already hammering in anticipation. What was she doing here? Why wasn't she wearing her robes? Why was her wand ready at her side? Was she going into the Forest? Was she going on an adventure? Without MASON? Unacceptable!

Mel ducked suddenly as if she had heard something, she seemed to be peering at said-something from behind a tree, whatever it was. . . Mason darted towards her, careful not to step on any twigs as she made her way towards her, "What are we looking for?" she whispered once she reached Mel, "You didn't think that you'd be going on an adventure without me, did you?"

Pffftttt. Foolish assumption to say the least. . .

Mel heard the footsteps and froze, there was someone near by…was it McHunkins come to escort her to detention? She wouldn’t mind…he was dreamy and so out of reach that she wouldn’t feel bad when he didn’t like her…she was a little kid after all…but maybe she could find people for her cousins and siblings? Kind of act like the matchmaker for the Johanson clan…this is McHunkins he has a job and everything…yeah her cousins probably would hex her for that but she’d be fine with that…he’d still be eyecandy.

When she heard Mason’s voice she just grinned. “Of course not, I wasn’t planning on going in…we’re not in yet technically…” she grinned. “But yes…I needed an adventure but I sent Moriarty to you with a note but I think he got lost…or fell asleep…he’s the worst owl.” She huffed quietly.

“But shhh there is someone over there” she muttered and tiptoed closer to the picnic group. “Oh. Merlin…and I wanted to scale a tree and watch for McLeod” she grinned. “Really, you are lucky your head of house is very….” She blushed a bit instead of finishing her comment as she slipped away from the treeline.

all of you

The Forbidden Forest.. more like the forbidden area given the circumstances being displayed. Of course the Groundskeeper would notice when students were approaching the forest. He had a thing with certain charms that would alert him to check through the window. It wasn't just one or two but four. Hmph. Already on the first week of school and there were risks being made.

Stepping out, Justin came out heading towards the two sitting on a blanket with food. Food.. resembling a picnic. Let's see.. it looked like two Gryffindors and a Ravenclaw. Well, three Gryffindors if he took into account how much Miss Denaker wanted to be one based on her attire at the feast and... a Slytherin. He gave them all looks to take in the scene as his arms folded. Oh he had words for this scene, but first things first.

"Does anyone care to explain what's going on here?" Not that he didn't have a concrete idea given the nice view he had from his hut but he had to give them a chance to explain. It had better be the truth for one.

He saw! A wide grin spread across the Californian girl's face when she saw the Groundskeeper burst out of his hut and storm his way over to them. The expression he was wearing was utter perfection. She was still fully unaware of Mel and Mason sneaking around behind trees. So from her vantage point it was just her, Salamander and Grump.

Haddie took a nice leisurely sip of her butterbeer, clearly not in a hurry to answer, then looked around casually at the blanket, the food, the picnic basket. "We're having a picnic. Clearly." They weren't in the forest. Weren't getting any closer given that, y'know, the blanket and food was set up here. They were at least a good 15 feet away from the edge, if not more. "Picnics are allowed, aren't they?" With that, she reached into basket and pulled out a ham sandwich, because she wasn't about to waste a perfectly good Philly Cheesesteak on the grumpy Groundskeeper, and held it up for him. "Hungry? We have plenty."

itsjustjesse 05-11-2016 05:54 AM

Melbourne winced when she heard the Groundskeepers voice…of course it was charmed. She knew it had to be, in a way she was testing her theories…someone was obviously paying a lot of attention to what they were doing here now weren’t they…well, it was the forbidden forest but still…people obviously had been there in the past before right? They had to have been.

Stepping closer she further out into the open as if she were never THAT close to the forest…she’d only ducked behind the trees closer to the hut as it were…not IN the forest itself. Signaling for Mason to follow she just plastered a friendly smile on her face.

“I can’t believe I got lost trying to find this…Hady had the brilliant idea of having food outside…” She grinned at the groundskeeper. “I suggested we have it here and keep watch for the hag…” she nodded as if that were a perfectly sane thing to do. The woman had after all tried to eat a student last term.

Hiraeth 05-11-2016 07:51 AM

:3 crappy phone post

Mason gave Mel a wide grin. OBVIOUSLY they were lucky. Their House was the sexiest, so it was kinda expected that they would have a Hawt Head.

Before she could say this to Mel, however, a voice from behind interrupted their adventure. It hadn't even begun yet and it was already done. . . cause said voice was none othere thaN McDreamboat himself. . . -__- perfect. Mason peered out from behind the tree, looking at origin of the voices. . . was that Haddie? And a random Curly? Were they on a date? What? At least she and Mel wouldn't be the only ones in trouble. . .

Why was he even asking? They were trying to go on an adventure, duh. But it would be fricken STUPID if that was the answer she gave. So with her best innocent-smile plastered on her face, she turned to her new Head of House, "Oh, Professor McLeod! What a nice surprise seeing you here!" She was playing dumb, cause dumb-people did dumb things and usually got away with it. "It's just what Haddie said! We're having a picnic! Haddie just turned 13 and we wanted to celebrate! Mel and I were running a little late, since I was at the Quidditch Pitch and she was waiting for me."

She flashed him another smile and tugged at Mel's arm, leading her towards were Haddle and unknown-Curly Head sat. "Do have anymore Butter beer?" See? Just an innocent picnic with a bunch of innocent kids. . . totally wasn't about to sneak in there.

Steelsheen 05-12-2016 08:41 AM

"Mmhm, Gryffindoring." the leonine lad repeated with pride between mouthfuls of that delectable sandwich "Like, why bother taking the stairs when you can parachute your way to the ground floor?" Pause. Wait why hasn’t he done that yet? Bucket list!

"True story bro. I had bait too but them party poopin Hogsmeade police found it and confiscated it. Said it was contraband, specially for someone my age." he snorted. Wait does she not know what Abraxans are? "Yeah Abraxans-- majestic flying horses about the size of a house. My folks just got me a baby one for my birthday-- wait seriously you've never heard of them?"Then it should be his mission to have Haddie see one!

"Whoah wait-- you got a t-shirt maker?" That is all kinds of cool "Can you make me one that says 'I could've been a Ravenclaw?' It'll be a matching shirt to yours. Heck we can wear it the next time we go GryffinClawing!" Yeah yeah? You know that’s a great idea.

Groundskeeper alert! He turned to look as the tall man lorded over them. Hadley seemed to keep things in stride so the Gryffindor decided to just chill and play the part. "Always plenty of room for yah guv'nah!" he added, toasting his sandwich in the air. If there was a chair he'd pull one up for him already.

Whoah full stop-- that was Mel's voice. And then there was another student? He gave Hady a so-this-IS-a-party look then started to break out the butterbeer. One for Mel, one for the other girl, and a full frothy glass of don’t-lose-your-cool-just-have-a-cold-one-on-us just for you Mr Groundskeeper ^_^.

Charely Potter 05-13-2016 01:25 AM

How about that, an almost reasonable lie. Almost being the keyword after hearing them all. It was quite.. disappointing to hear. Justin then shook his head before speaking calmly, "Don't think I didn't see you coming back from the trees Miss Johanson and Miss Stevens on my way over. That'll be 10 points from the each of you for straight up lying and for actually entering." How utterly disappointing. "Professor Flamsteed will hear of this Miss Johanson." The trees weren't even far from his view.

As for the other picnic dwellers. "Miss Denaker and Master Salander. You may not see anything wrong settling here but this is precisely why even a little gathering is discouraged even within close proximity of the forest. More people will arrive which in turn leads to some curiosity towards the next visible place as these two showcased." He was young once, he remembered how their minds worked.

Not to mention, "A set of food looking this appetising you are going to attract certain creatures and not friendly ones at that." Therefore, "Unless you also want house points taken this picnic will have to be packed up and set up elsewhere immediately." This was considered their one and only warning.

Callie 05-13-2016 01:47 AM

Rearranging a bit.

"Gryffindoring...sounds like my life...and the way I wish my life was, all rolled into one." While she hadn't exactly parachuted down from the towers, as amazingly tempting as that was, there was no doubt in her mind if she had a parachute she would be on her way to do that this instance. "Where do you even buy a parachute?" Because that was the hole in making this happen.

"Magical flying horses the size of houses?" Hadley almost choked on her butterbeer...almost. "I've not heard of them or seen one..." She was trying to form a mental picture of what one would look like. "And your parents bought you one!?" Okay, so Salamander had the coolest parents ever. But more importantly, "So, will you invite me over sometime to see the Abraxan?" Because, well she wanted to see one. Plus, if his parents were that cool, it'd be a great place to hang. And you'll have your shirt the next time I see you." Maybe she could start a trend of people announcing their alternate houses or something via shirt. She could even start selling them!

Ka-ching!

Moving on. Bernie and Mase? They appeared out of the blue, and started covering for her. She didn't really need it, since all she was doing was literally having a picnic, but it was appreciated none-the-less. Though the way-too-serious Groundskeeper deducting points for 'lying' gave Hadley a bit of deja vu. At least it wasn't her this year. Handing a thermos of butterbeer and a cup to Mason, Hadley glanced around at her friends, playing along as if they were all meant to be here and had decided on this together. "What do you say? Shall we risk it and stay here, or move like Groundskeeper Willy wants us too?"

itsjustjesse 05-13-2016 05:34 AM

not quoting

Melbourne had been stalking through the trees yes, that had been true. Still, Groundskeeper McLeod would get it right? If she just said it….I thought my best friend was on a date with my other best friend…yeah no. He’d not get that. She’d just sound like a jealous lil’witch. The brunette sent Tenacius a nod that was far more curt than she had meant it to be…really, she wasn’t herself today with the willingly going into a spider-zone. SPIDERS here weren’t mere S-P-I-D-E-R-S they were far more heart wrenchingly threatening than the ones in Aus – wait. Was there an Australian breed of Agromantula? If there were surely THOSE would be the deadliest beasts to ever grace the world.

Austromantulas…yep…that was what she was going to call them to herself and no one else. The obviously slightly off Gryffindor walked closer to the groundskeeper and frowned when he mentioned the trees, “of course sir” she nodded remorsefully. It wasn’t that she was sad about not going into the forest…well, a part of her really was sad that she hadn’t gone in there. It was an adventurers dream!

Battling the spi…yeah no, spiders were a no go. Mel just sighed when she heard him mentioning that their party had attracted them. No. It hadn’t. They had planned this separately but it wasn’t like she was going to go any further not when she’d probably just loose more points and they didn’t need that now did they? What. In. Hades?

What was Hads doing? Mel’s eyes widened as she Hads was obviously challenging Groundskeeper Mchotstuffleod. “I…wha-um.” She hardly could speak somewhat because of the strange reaction she had to seeing Hads and Tenacius together…why was she thinking his name so…so harshly? She wondered furrowing her brows at her friends for a moment. “Thanks for the butterbeer….s-sorry about everything Sir,” she muttered aloud and looked over to Mason for a bit.

“Mase? You want to uh…treehouse maybe? Talk?” Right. That made complete and utter sense. “Um…we could move the picnic to the lake? It’s probably just as dangerous with the grindylows, the merpeople, and other nameless creatures” she shrugged and then sent Ace a little grin. “I’m always going to remember our first ride here when we fell in.” She grinned widely. Yep. That was a fun time.

Steelsheen 05-15-2016 11:29 AM

all of yous <3

Whoah wait Melly got docked points? For what walking? His curly head spun between his friends and the Groundskeeper and then the tall man addressed them directly. He lowered his hand that had the offered drink and stood. Think quickly Salander! "Uhm wait!... Actually its none of their faults-- its me. I wanted to go see Centaurs and Abraxans and hey yeah, that’s why we got food." Makes sense yeah? "That’s why we're at the edge of the forest Mr McLeod-- of course we're not gonna go in. Because its forbidden." So theyre not that dumb, Ravenclaw presence notwithstanding. "Yeah we are taking a chance, but given that there isnt any other place we know of that has Centaurs within spying distance, we thought-- hey why not see if they'd show up and share a drink or a bite? Centaurs would appreciate a kind invitation innit?"

itsjustjesse 05-17-2016 02:29 AM

Melbourne just eyed Ace Tenacius…darn she’d failed at thinking of him only as Tenacius because he wasn’t just that he was her best friend…well, other than Sammy and Haddy and Mason…but still, he was the reason she even met Sammy and that meant something to her.

She gave Tenacius a shocked expression, “Stop….” She practically whispered it was quiet, but really, the points were fair. If anything though she wouldn’t be allowed to go to Hogsmeade for one of those weekends…which wouldn’t be fun now would it? Still, it was sort of heartwarming…NO IT WAS ANYTHING BUT HEART WARMING…it was…friendly. Yep. Friendly that he was trying to get the points removed.

“Sir…Mister McLeod, I am sorry. Please, uh…don’t listen to my friend…I understand that you have to take points from me for lying…because I did lie and head into the forest.” She was standing tall….or as tall as someone as impossibly short as her could stand. “He’s trying to be a good friend…but if you must or feel the need to remove more points please take them from me.” She wasn’t being chivalrous really. She was thinking about what Emmy would do when she found out. She’d probably hop on a train and yell at Ace in person and her…she’d yell at her too because obviously Melbourne Johanson was a bad influence.

Charely Potter 05-18-2016 10:46 PM

all you

Oh the young Gryffindors. Being consistent with their typical behavior in Justin's eyes. He had to smile at that. "You should listen to Miss Johansen here, Master Salander lying isn't meant to be taken lightly." Especially a bad one at that. "He rose a brow at the nickname from Miss Denaker and Miss Steven's growing silence, but given the circumstance there were more pressing matters.

Wasn't it about time to stop diddling around? Surely with this picnic they wanted to keep it going even if it meant elsewhere. Justin expected to hear a reaction from everyone, but oh well, no biggie. "You could argue your case all you'd like on staying here, but this area still isn't allowed to be approached without any staff's presence and permission." They wanted to see centaurs though apparently. "Centuars typically don't approach our areas to mingle unless necessary in which Professor Draper could explain more on why.. Give the Pathways or the Great Lake another chance. Some friendly creatures occasionally pop up there." Which was the truth.

Now was there anything left to settle?

Callie 05-27-2016 12:27 PM

Decloning

This was getting a bit old. Hadley had had her fun and now she was just hungry. Still she wasn't really one to back down all that easily, even when she should. So she remained quiet while the others stated their cases.

Hads would have to admit that some of those cases were tempting her to stay, like seeing a centaur. Her love of Greek Mythology was really at work on that one. Though, it sounded like the likelihood of seeing was next to nil. There was no way she was going to ask Drapes why they don't really approach, either. No thank you.

Hadley sighed and stood up. "Come on guys, Let's relocate this to the Great Lake. See if we can't bribe Bartholomew, the Giant Squid into doing our bidding with delicious food." She stretched a moment, collected the picnic basket, and started off toward the lake. After a few steps, she paused and waited for the others, or those that wanted to join her, to catch up.

The Narrator 06-08-2016 06:35 PM

In the middle of the December day the sun was shining, air was cold, and it seemed like a peaceful moment on the grounds. Though it was daylight a greenish glow started to be seen through the trees of the forest.

The glow seemed to be the start, but it wasn't all that was new with the forest. An eerie but hypnotic lullaby could soon be heard.

Devina Wellheart 06-08-2016 06:58 PM

Miranda came walking along the edge of the forest when a strange glow began to shine from within the forest... As though whatever it was was just beyond eye shot.
' What a lovely song' she thought to herself as she edged closer to the trees. Trying to get a look at whatever was glowing. She felt herself almost drawn to the low lithe notes in the odd music, but still she stood there looking.... Though she couldn't make anything out she still stood and stared.....

Callie 06-08-2016 07:13 PM

Hadley was feeling anxious being inside again. She still got those feels, but they were much more infrequent than they had been right after summer. Maybe it was because she was nervous about going back to London for the Christmas Break. She was happy that the Watsons were willing to let her stay with them. It meant she wouldn't have to stay, alone, in the castle. But at the same time, being so close to home, where her Dad could possibly come get her and force her to come home wasn't the...

Everything she had been thinking about was forgotten as she neared the edge of the Forbidden Forest. A hauntingly gorgeous lullaby that grabbed her attention like an iron vice. Without meaning too, Hadley Denaker found herself being drawn, step by step, toward the source.

Torie was always doing everything he could to avoid going near the forest, even for class. But he was walking on the grounds and could hear something, a song of sorts. Where was it coming from? Slowly he started walking and the farther he walked the more clearly he heard the lullaby. He wasn't even really paying attention as to where he was heading, and if he knew it was the forest he would never go there, not after the spiders in his first year.

Not even the greenish glow was deterring him or preventing him from following the music. Whatever it was was making him follow it in search of where it was coming from.

Obviously there was something worth hiding in the Forest, there was no way that McLeod would be that much of a jerk just 'cause he was afraid that animals would come and eat them. He probably had some weird hidden occult in there and didn't want anyone finding out about it. Mel and Mason WOULD have found out IF he hadn't been like a hawk, seeing them before they even got to the edge of it.

But they hadn't been the only ones there, Haddie and Curly-Top had been on some kind of date-thingy, which was weird since Mason thought that the only loves in Haddie's life were her ferret and mischief.

Speak of the devil. Haddie was here as well. Was she going on another date with Curly? Or maybe, just maybe, she was on the exact same mission as Mason was. . . hmmm, she did look a little distracted, like seriously. . .

. . . distracted . . .

What was that. . . ? What was she thinking about earlier. . . ?

"Had-"

The sentence died in her throat and her mind just seemed to shut off. All she could think about was that sound . . . was that. . . ? A lullaby. . . ? And that light. . . it was so pretty, and green. It was calling her, beckoning her to go to it. . . she needed to follow it, it was drawing her like a moth to a candle, and the song only edged her on to take those first few steps. . .

Azura had spent all year avoiding the Forest.. She was terrified of it now due to.. what could be lurking inside of it.. Also.. The idea of them made her nervous now.. The dark.. the closed in trees.. What if something was in there? Would she be able to protect herself? What if there were..

Vampires?

The small girl gave a shiver as she turned away.. but she had spotted Torie headed towards the Forest and her eyes went wide!! What in the,,

What was he doing?

She started to sprint after him! "Torie!!" She yelled out as she got closer.. and then noticed the glow.. and the soft song!

"Hey! What are you doing? You can't go into there!!" She said as she grabbed his arm.

Hadley's feet were working on their own now, drawing her nearer and nearer to forest. Even if she hadn't wanted to descend into those dark woods, she'd have a hard time stopping the slow march of her feet.

She was in the shadow of the forest now, inching her way closer and closer when vaguely, from some place far far away in the back of her mind, she heard the start of her name. "Huh?" she asked, dreamily. She didn't turn around or stop though. She didn't even look away from the forest.

He was in a daze as if hypnotized by the song his eyes were unfocused as he looked through the trees, when Azura grabbed his arm. "The song" was all he said as he kept trying to go forward. He wanted to find where it was coming from, and that shiny green light was drawing him in. He didn't hear her say what was he doing nor that he couldn't go in there. "We have to find it." Yep, find where the music was coming from.

"Listen" he said as he stepped further into the forest his mind still focused on the lullaby and not really taking in her words.

Bundled in a warm coat, Esme let her feet lead her wherever they wanted to. She was feeling restless from being cooped up inside and wanted to get some fresh air and do some serious thinking. OWLs were coming up next term and she needed to have some idea of what she wanted to do for a career. One possibility was related to divination and the other was related to creatures.

...

What was that she heard? It sounded like a lullaby.

Not paying attention to where she was headed, Esme followed the music. She had to get closer to it no matter where it was coming from. The green glow didn't hold her back. Ignoring the people around her as if they didn't exist, she continued walking.

Must. Follow. Light.

. . .

That was they only logical thing that Mason could think of as the glow and lullaby lured her further towards the forest. But the beckoning-smoothness of the tune was interrupted by . . . a rather familiar-sounding voice. . . what? Where was the voice. . . ? It was only the light and her, she needed to get there. . .

. . .

"Go." She hissed at the voice, annoyed as to why it felt the need to interrupt the beauty and soothing-powers of the melody.

"Follow it." She spoke again, feet dragging across the twig-and-leaf-laden ground. "It wants us to follow it." Into the Forest, and that's exactly where Mason was going. . .

The closer Azura got to the Forest, the louder the song was getting and the less she was afraid.. She still had a hold of Torie's arm as they both looked towards the trees..

And that light.. It was Hypnotizing and she felt her panic ease a little.. as she stopped and listened.. It was very beautiful.. And it seemed to be calling to her..

"Yes, we need to go find it." The purple eyed teen was no longer scared, it had all melted away.. She felt peaceful.. and sort of in a trance..

"Come on.."

The glow seemed to be the start, but it wasn't all that was new with the forest. An eerie but hypnotic lullaby could soon be heard.

Glowing green light? Hypnotic music?

Why was he going towards it again? It seemed like the type of thing his mum would tell him to avoid. Only, it seemed like avoidance was going to be impossible, as the music seemed to be drawing him closer. Was this the work of aliens? Because it seemed like something they would do. He'd seen enough science fiction to be almost convinced that that's what was happening. But would they be friendly aliens like E.T. or mean ones like most others?

Here's hoping for E.T.

Go, said the voice. Follow it. Yes, she would follow it. "Okay..." Hads said dreamily. She was at the edge of the forest now. Bathed in the green light.

Hadley was just about to step into the forest when something else spoke. Not in words nor images and yet it was there. In the lullaby. Soothing, comforting. She'd do what the music wanted. She would go. She would find it. She would bring it.

In the same dreamy daze, Hadley turned around, and step by step, methodically making her way back to the castle. She'd find it. She'd bring it. That was her only purpose.

Devina Wellheart 06-08-2016 10:33 PM

Just as Miranda looked to see more students join her by the forest's edge it was as if a wordless message were seeping into her brain... It was coming from the lullaby and she was about to leave , but.... Nothing other than a need to find it.....go find it.....go...............
she turned slowly and began to follow that person ahead of her , but stopped and went towards the Paddocks instead...Edging ever so slowly along the edge of the forest. she smelled what it was that she was searching for drawing nearer... Her blank stare unblinking as she crossed the grounds.

Nymphadoraliz 06-08-2016 10:38 PM

He faintly heard Azura speak but still his eyes were drawn to light that was in the trees and he walked barely realizing that her hand was on his arm. The music was so beautiful, he didn't want it to stop. He knew his mum would be furious as would his dad if they knew what he had done and followed the music.

But somehow that didn't even make a flicker of notice or recognition in his eyes. He just walked with Azura beside him. Slowly his face becoming blank as he listened to the music more. Nothing was going through his head, not Azura, not his parents or even his sisters. Just a calm, quietness came over him. He stood in the green light for a minute not even recognizing anyone was around him, nor that his arms went slack and Azura's hand fell from his arm as he turned walking back out of the forest and heading for the grounds again.

Hiraeth 06-08-2016 10:45 PM

Yes.

Is that what you want? But where. . . ? And after. . . ? Yes. . .

Yes. I will find it. . .

The lullaby seemed to whisper the instructions in her ear, without even using words it controlled her, it said to find it. . . and she had to. Mason couldn't deny it it's wish. She wanted to please it, and she would.

No, no Forest.

Find it, find it, find, find, find, find, find.

GO. . .

MunchyBubbles 06-08-2016 10:49 PM

Everything was calm.. Everything was happy.. Nothing seemed to be in her head or heart now.. Just that pretty melody.. She grew closer to the light and closed her eyes..

"Mmmm.." She said as she tilted her head and listened to what it was saying to her.. She nodded.. Of course.. Of course.. Anything..

She felt no sadness now.. Just warmth.. and peace.. and a strong desire to find..

She barely felt Torie's arm falling from her grip.. She barely felt anything! Her purple eyes were glazed over slightly.. as she turned around and headed towards the grounds.

Must..Find..

Katherine had to visit the Greenhouses to check on plants (and hopefully earn extra points, ahem) and then the Barn to show to Professor Draper that she was still a worthy student to attend his classes. She hated going outside in winter, but this was for the classes, so she didn't whine. She just put on several layers of jackets, socks and gloves. One would wonder how she even walked, but she did so expertly, and soon enough, she was going to the Greenhouses...

...until she saw the light. What was that? She bet it was the call of the students that thought sneaking into the Forest would be fun. Well, she wasn't about to pay any attention - a lullaby was coming... and Katherine was oddly drawn to it... The plants, you came here for the plants...

She kept walking not to the Greenhouses, but to the source of the lullaby that was just... so... entrancing...

Katerina was doing her normal searching for new plants and things on the grounds. Even if it was cold outside there was different plants in different seasons so she was looking around for winter plants that were out already. The problem was the snow, and being bundled up to make it outside without turning into a Kat-Popsicle. The second year was walking hear the edge of the forest. She was on a misson, a mistletoe mission. She looked up wasn't it sometimes up in the trees?

A green light? Did some of the older students sneak into the forest? Anywho back to her mission. She didn't have time for that. But a Lullaby? So soft so calming, Katerina swayed a bit to the melody. Finding herself curious and drawn to it. Kat Followed until she walked right into Katherine. 'Oh, sorry Katherine," Or at least that's who she thought it was. The light was the only thing she could focus on. Where was it?

Kitty left the castle and began wandering outside, her mind restless. What was she going to tell the Headmaster? At first she had been so angry at Miffy (who she blamed for making a mess in her dormitory) that she had been determined to complain to the new headmaster and ask him to punish Miffy. It seemed like a good idea at the time. But when she was halfway there her shyness around unfamiliar grown ups came rushing back to her. She still wanted to tell him, but she had to find a way to do it that would not be embarrassing later, and she couldn't make it seem as if she were ORDERING him to punish Miffy. That would just get her in trouble. But at the same time she didn't want to sound as if she were whining. No, she wanted him to see that her indignation was righteous and that she had been suffering at hands of Peeves and Miffy for a long time and was now asking help.

Oh, and she had to be in uniform of course and wearing her best makeup. Couldn't let him see her without it. Taking out her hand mirror, Kitty sat down and began applying eyeliner. She was outside in the courtyard.

Then, in the mirror's reflections, she saw it. A mysterious green glow coming from the forest. It was beautiful. Her anger went away. In its place was peace.

She dropped her eyeliner. Then the mirror. It fell, smashing into pieces on the ground. That was okay.

Kitty turned around and began heading towards the forest. Vaguely, she was aware that the forest scared her - that that was where the Hag had run off to and that she still had nightmares about it.

And then the music began...

Must find them. MUST find them.

What was going to be done with them wasn't any of his concern. All that mattered was that he find them.

Ronan started on his way back to the castle, a slight, barely noticeable stiffness to his movements. If you knew him well enough, you would notice that something was.....off but what you wouldn't be able to put your finger on.

Must find.

Forgetting that she had bumped into Katherine just minutes earlier. The lullaby had distracted her from anything she previously had on her mind. The only thing she could think of was gold. Beautiful gold.

She must find gold. Did she have gold? Shiny? No shiny. The tiny blonde headed off to find shiny gold. Moving stiffly back to the castle.

Scampering out from the colony's den deep within the forest, Aletag waved his large hairy legs in the air towards Hogwarts castle...where the preciouses were kept.

Slow roasted juicy goodness!

Goodness that MUST be protected!

Taking several more hurried steps out of the forest and into the light, his thick legs sinking into the snow and abdomen leaving a wide trail as he moved, he moved towards the castle on an urgent mission.

There weren't really too many places on the grounds to hide, when you really looked at it. After clearing the greenhouses and the treehouse, and assuming she wouldn't be at Draper or McLeod's places because why would his love be with the other men when she could be with him, the small boy made his way to the edge of the Forbidden Forest. If she wasn't hiding inside a place, maybe she was walking along the treeline, waiting for him. It just... felt right, to be there. Which meant... she had to be around somewhere.

Jaemin was letting out little puffy breaths as he walked, ignoring the dull ache in his face and the slight ache in his chest from hitting the ground. He was wandless, he was cold and wet from snow, and his socks were damp inside his shoes now... but that didn't matter. Not one bit. Only his true love mattered. He just... had to find her. He wouldn't let Airey Flamsteed take her away from him, nor would he let his prefect have her. And there was no way the Gryffindor prefect would be allowed. No. Way.

Absently rubbing at his bare arms as he walked, shivering as the cold went up and down his spine in waves, Jaemin walked along the forest's edge, eyes fixed inside the treeline and searching for any sign of her. Whether she appeared herself, or her footprints, or even just a suggestion that she was near... his heart yeaaaaaaarned for just a hint.

Searching the whole castle from top to bottom without finding Jaemin anywhere Leo concluded after asking every student he past if they had seen the young Slytherin that he had left the castle and was somewhere outside on the grounds. For someone with short legs Jaemin moved incredibly fast. Leo had though granted not left to chase after him immediately. He hadn't left the trophy room until Art had showed up to assist Sora and Headmaster Mo with the crazily acting students. If Leo didn't know better the students seemed to have been love potioned. But Art he was certain would get to the bottom of the mystery. It'd be nice to have a sane Airey again.

Following the snowy path down from the castle Leo conjured up a coat, gloves and cap which he put on against the late feburary weather that was showing itself from the cold and wet side. He hoped that Jaemin had been sensible enough to wear something warm and water proof. Leo doubted it though. As he walked he followed smaller footsteps on the path that possibly could be Jaemin's. Nearing Justin's hut he glanced around and called out "Jaemin! Jaemin where are you?" Pausing he hoped for and listened for a response from the boy.. Getting none he continued past Justin's dark and shut hut.

Continuing onwards he debated whether it was likely that Jaemin was hiding out in the greenhouses but since no footsteps except possibly Paul's were going down in that direction Leo walked on. The boy he feared was heading for the forbidden forest. It had sadly always been too alluring to the students. Walking and scanning for the young boy Leo thought he saw a small figure up ahead very near the forest edge. Putting his hands around his mouth Leo called out. "Jaemin! Jaemin wait there! Don't go into the forest."

The cold was starting to make the underdressed tween walk a bit slower. It was hard, after all, to keep up too brisk a pace when you were freezing and shivering. But he hadn't stopped walking along the treeline, looking this way and that; all he needed was a sign, any sign, that would lead him to his love.

Though his ears were red and cold, he could still hear well enough, and Leo's voice made him stiffen a bit in apprehension. Why didn't he want Jaemin to go into the trees? Was he trying to find her too? The boy glanced in the librarian's direction, silently trying to decide what was best to do, before looking back into the forest again, still moving along the trees and away from Leo. He only stopped when something caught his attention. Was that a footprint?! (No.) Was it a sign to lead him to his love?! (Nooooo.) The pre-teen, usually so apprehensive of the forest (and for good reason) abandoned all caution and stepped just inside the treeline, eyes fixed on a spot several feet away. He had to see. He had to find her first!

He wasn't about to let Leo Kitridge take his woman!!

The Narrator 07-01-2016 05:47 PM

Something suddenly cracked within the forest, Was it a fallen tree branch being stepped on? Or something worse? The small boy was being watched. Another crunch of leaves proved something was indeed there and moving closer. The sight of the professor made the forest go still. It watched cautiously for a moment before silently retreating further into the forest. This could work to an advantage.

Soon music was softly coming from the forest. The same hypnotizing song that had danced from the branches before. The forest started to glow and became inviting as if singing come all children, come and see.

Azura was out by the lake, it seemed to become her favorite spot to be lately, not to mention she was outside to be visible should her mom's patronus decide to visit her again. She was doing some homework and attempting to keep her mind on it and not Chris.. Or Cour..

When she heard something..

Her head titled a little.. As she stood up.. And moved towards the forest as quickly as she could.. She stopped as she saw the glow.. And heard the music.. This seemed vaguely familiar.. But.. Why?

She was walking slowly..pondering why it felt like she had done this before.. and yet not really caring at the same time.

Ooc: feel free to delete if I'm not supposed to be here.

SPOILER!!: Jaemin

Quickening his pace since it was undoubtedly Jaemin up ahead Leo saw that the boy wasn't a teensy bit dressed for the cold and wet weather condition something he noted automatically since he had become a father. Jaemin looked like he was shivering and freezing, but Leo was still too far away to really know for sure. He knew the boy had heard him call out but irritating enough he hadn't done as ordered. Kids nowadays never did.

Sighing inwardly Leo pulled his wand from his holster and gripped it tightly as he called out again "Jaemin stop! Don't go into the forest its dangerous!" You never knew what lurked in the shadows of the trees.

Of course Jaemin proceeded to not follow orders again. He was as nuts as the kids Leo had left behind in the trophy room. Shaking his head he quickened his pace to a sprint as neared the trees, when he came into the forest just inside the treeline Leo spotted Jaemin standing a few feet away. Striding over to the tween boy he took a firm hold of the boy's arm as asked sternly. "Jaemin, why didn't you stop when you heard me? We shouldn't be in here. The forest is dangerous."

It watched cautiously for a moment before silently retreating further into the forest. This could work to an advantage.
Soon music was softly coming from the forest. The same hypnotizing song that had danced from the branches before. The forest started to glow and became inviting as if singing come all children, come and see.

Hearing a loud cracking sound coming from deeper within the forest Leo paused to listen? Had it just been a tree branch breaking? He was really not that interested in finding out if it had been something else. He really didn't want to meet one of the forests more sinister creatures if he could help it. Taking a firmer hold on Jaemin's arm he started to tug him backwards. "Come on Jaemin let's get back to the castle and get you some dry clothes."

Before Leo could take that many steps backwards an alluring song started up as well as an inviting glow to the trees. Uncautiosuly letting go off Jaemin's arm to cover his ears Leo ordered "Cover your ears and whatever you do don't listen to the song Jaemin. Come let's get out off the forest." The song meant nothing good, he just knew it.

Hoping that Jaemin did as ordered Leo's jaw almost dropped to his knees as he saw another student coming towards the forest probably lured by the song. As he recognized who it was Leo looked up at the sky and asked silently 'Why in merlin's white socks did it have to be Azura?'

Shaking his head he sent a patronus charm towards the castle. He would not be able to get both students back to the trophy room without help. Trying his best to not listen to the very alluring music he called out praying that she heard him "Don't come closer Azura! Turn around and go back to the castle."

Ameh 07-02-2016 11:47 AM

The 'crack' in the forest drew his attention immediately. Jaemin's head jerked up and he took a half step toward where he thought the sound might have come from; was it her? Was she here, and hiding from him? Why so shy, my love?!

He was about to move toward it when the librarian caught his arm. The hand was warm, but it was far from comforting, because it was trying to keep him from his love. The boy looked up at Leo, clearly annoyed. "She's here! She's here, you have to let me go to her!"

What was... that...

His head already wasn't quite right, but the soft music lilting out of the forest now just made it more fuzzy. The small boy turned toward the glow, arm slack in Leo's grip. His love... a song... his love...

Was it from her? The boy blinked slowly, mouth slightly open as he swayed a bit on his feet... he looked at the hand holding his upper arm, keeping him from everything he wanted, and after a long moment, while Leo was busy yelling at someone else... the small boy lifted his arm and bit down hard on Leo's hand.

And then he took off running toward his beloved.

The Narrator 07-02-2016 02:29 PM

The music seemed to be growing stronger and the green glow brighter. As two children and a professor seemed to be in its grasp. Whatever was in the forest craved more.

Come all children, come and explore.

MunchyBubbles 07-03-2016 07:03 PM

Azura could hear the music.. Ohhh.. It was talking to her again.. Melody was back.. Azura's purple eyes started to glaze over a bit as she heard a voice call out to her.

For a moment she seemed to regain her sanity.. "Mr. Kitridge?" She asked as she walked closer to him.. "Jaemin?" But as she walked closer, close enough to be in arms reach, her purple eyes fully lost focus.. The song was once again too much for the teen and all thoughts left her..except for the one thought that seemed to be driving her now.. "Azura find book?" She tilted her head and giggled softly..

"Find book for song.. Pretty Pretty songggg."

Ursula Black 07-04-2016 03:13 AM

From somewhere deep inside the Forbidden Forest, the hag stepped out. She closed her eyes and inhaled the delicious scent, taking it in to the very bottom of her lungs and holding it there before she exhaled.

Delicious children.

It was hard to stay away from them, it was. She quietly stepped closer to the grounds and tore a few leaves off some nearby trees, sniffed them then threw them away. They definitely weren't what she needed. The scent of children was close, just not close enough. But it wouldn't be long to wait. Oh no.

With a wicked grin directed towards the castle, the hag turned and disappeared back into the Forbidden Forest.

Ameh 07-04-2016 11:53 AM

It was like everything inside of him was slowly draining out of him. Jaemin's legs grew heavier as he moved, and the preteen slowed to a stop, expression a bit dazed; the love potion had taken the edge off the cold, but the song... the song made him feel warm. A different form of yearning filled him up, slowly yet surely, and Jaemin's head tilted to one side inquisitively.

It wanted something from him. Needed it. Absolutely could not continue without it, and nor could he. Jaemin turned on the spot, movements stiff from the cold he no longer felt at all, and shuffled back toward the castle, eyes and expression both clouded over and blank. He needed to find it. Needed it.

Nordic Witch 07-04-2016 02:21 PM

exits Leo...

The music grew louder and more hypnotizing the more Leo tried to not listen to it. It was almost as if it intensified just because he tried to fight it. After Jaemin had disappeared out of view Leo eyes started to glaze over a bit as he heard Azura call out to him. He had lost the fight.

He momentarily regained his sanity to look down on his bloody hand where Jaemin had bit him to feel it throb with pain. Leo was walking towards Azura when the song renewed its strength which caused his eyes to fully glaze over and lose all focus. He just had one thought now. "Tarot cards. He needed them."

Turning around he stiffly started to head back towards the castle.
"Find pretty tarot cards and a shiny, shiny ball he must."

Ameh 07-07-2016 03:22 PM

It was definitely getting on in the day, and definitely darker and colder out, though Jaemin showed no concern nor care for that. The small boy, still in just a damp short-sleeved shirt and damp pants, stumbled a bit as he made his way out of the castle once more. His poor limbs hadn't even had a chance to fully thaw while he'd been inside - had he the ability to notice or care, he would have felt the strange burning sensation in his fingers and ears as they grew warmer, a sensation that now disappeared as he trudged his way outside once more. The red smears on his cheek were run through here and there by droplets of water that had run from his thawing hair, and the scrapes seemed as if they were finally done bleeding now, though they still stood mostly open to the frigid winter air as he made his way through the snow toward the forest again.

"Books," he whispered, eyes locked on the trees, ears yearning to hear his song once more. He had brought the song its books. It would be happy with him now, yes? He could stay with the song forever, now that it had spell books? All he wanted was to please the song... He took a much more direct path than he had the first time he'd come out here, and soon was standing, shivering despite feeling no cold, at the forest's edge again. His own footprints from before went a short way into the depths, and he followed them thoughtlessly; once he reached where he had been before, where he had heard his song and seen his light, he stopped, and he dropped to his knees in the snow, shakily holding the books out and dropping them into the snow in front of him.

Books for the song. Spell books. He had done well, yes?

kayquilz 07-08-2016 07:14 PM

It had been a normal day for Paul. Like......very normal. Typical. Took his dog for a walk, did some lesson stuff, graded essays, graded various other homeworks....did plant!man things, and it was time for a second walk for Miss Zelda the collie. It was cold, so Paul had bundled up all snug and comfy, wrapping his scarf around his neck and pulling a beanie over his head before making his way outside.

Zelda loved the snow. She really did.

It was weird, however, when he glanced towards the castle...and saw a small figure heading right for the forest. He couldn't make out just WHO it was, but Paul was very concerned. It was cold out, and he could tell the person wasn't wearing warm clothes. Plus, the forest itself. "Come on, Zelda, let's go investigate--come on, girl--" he gave his dog a little tug of the leash and headed in that direction.

Following the footprints was easy. The person hadn't covered them up or anything so..

Zelda was quite displeased she was being dragged all this way into the forest, and was whining a bit as Paul followed the small footprints. He had a horrible feeling that it was a student........

Ameh 07-08-2016 07:34 PM

Where was his song? His song... Jaemin swayed back and forth, still on his knees in the snow, eyes fixed off somewhere deeper in the woods. Was the song not happy with him? He had brought spell books. They had the word on the cover. Were they not right? The small boy let out a distressed whine, a violent shiver going up his back. He had to find his song... he had to deliver the books to it...

Moving around was getting harder, but Jaemin did his best to push himself back up to his feet. Further into the forest... he had to look for his song. Fumbling with frozen fingers, he picked the books up again and started stumbling deeper into the trees, falling against some of them as he moved. Slowly, oh so slowly, glazed eyes fixed on a space deep within the growing darkness. That was where he would find his song... right?

kayquilz 07-10-2016 08:38 PM

"Come on, girl--" he said to the dog as he raced towards the hunched over figure. Goodness. iT WAS JAEMIN SONG. Paul's teacher-y/caring uncle instincts kicked into gear, and he followed Jaemin deeper into the forest until was right up behind the boy. He grabbed his shoulder.

"JAEMIN! What in the world--it's freezing, m'boy!" he said softly as Zelda sniffed near Jaemin's butt, as dogs do, her tail wagging quite a bit before she licked his hand.

Ameh 07-10-2016 09:18 PM

The small boy didn't acknowledge the familiar voice, nor the touch on his shoulder. The grip, however, caused a small jerk as he tried to keep moving forward, and he dropped the books in the snow again. Those poor old books weren't faring well at all, but arguably they were doing better than the tiny Slytherin.

Jaemin tilted his head to one side and back to see who or what was impeding him. There was a good long moment of blank, soulless, absolutely empty staring at Paul, the out of place expression showing not a single shred of recognition... and then something deep inside of the twelve year old very abruptly snapped back into place.

There were no words in either language Jaemin spoke to quite describe the absolute horror of everything rushing back all at once. The empty spaces were suddenly full again, brimming over even, and all of the things he hadn't felt for the last few days crushed up against each other in their need to be felt.

Several days of being awake buried him in unexplained exhaustion. Several days of being constantly in the cold had left him with the inexplicable signs of frostbite. Several days of constant movement made his weak limbs even weaker.

The blankness on his face melted into an expression of horror, of not understanding, because nothing of what he felt or where he was made sense. It lingered for only a moment before the frozen preteen's eyes rolled back in his head, and his whole being went limp, crashing down toward the snow.

kayquilz 07-11-2016 04:55 AM

GAH.

Paul, nearly having a panic-freakout-thing right now, quickly waved his wand a thick, woolen blanket suddenly engulfed the boy. Zelda was barking insanely, jumping all around and clearly picking up that something was wrong. Paul waved his wand again and levitated the boy, not wanting to pick him up and not be able to carry him. While Jaemin was small..Paul was old. And he didn't want to slip in the snow and send the boy into a worse off predicament than he was currently in...and so...TO THE CASTLE.

He unhooked Zelda's leash from her collar. "Zelda, home," he nodded in the direction of the Greenhouses, and the dog took off in that direction. He hoped a certain....MALE DOG wasn't wandering about and therefore DISTRACTING Zelda from doing what Paul told her to /do/.

Well...to the warmth, then. Paul was torn between sending a patronus ahead of him or just...well he didn't know WHAT to do with Jaemin.

Ursula Black 08-02-2016 08:27 AM

With one child grasped by the wrist (Kitty) and one child slung over her shoulder (Brady) Ursula ran as quick as her legs would take her to the entrance of the forest where she had set up her pot and some of the ingredients she had managed to get from the castle throughout the year as well as a particularly sinister looking potions book which was her key to turning the children into a rather delicious meal for her. She was getting hungry and her stomach rumbled just to prove the point.

"Now come with me children there's nothing to worry about not a thing at all." She smiled and let out a cackle of laughter as she reached her large cauldron where she put the two children she had (Brady and Kitty).

MunchyBubbles 08-02-2016 09:10 PM

Azura was walking up from the lake when she noticed a few someone's.. Being dragged??? What was going on! And wait was that the... Hag?

And was that Kitty and Brady?? Azura started to run after the group but she skidded to a highly ungraceful stop, nearly toppling over as she managed to not cross over into the Forbidden Forest.

She couldn't go barging in there. Not without a plan, she didn't want to end up being cooked either, but Brady! And Kitty!

She bit her lip and took out her wand and tried to think up some sort of plan to help save her friends!

Sneakeh Cat 08-02-2016 10:30 PM

Juliette ran after the hag not having the slightest idea what she was going to do to save her fellow students! On the way towards the forest, she accidenally ran right into a hole in the ground, which caused one of her heels to break. HER PRECIOUS NEW SHOES! She honestly stopped to tend to her shoes, but she had to remind herself why she was running in the first place, and it wasn't because she was training for a 5K!

It took everything in her to throw both her shoes aside and continue down towards the...

*gulp* Forbidden Forest.

She came to a stop when she saw a nearby girl (Azura) with her wand at the ready. "Psssst!" She moved closer to the girl. "Do you have a plan?" Surely, she did.

FearlessLeader19 08-02-2016 10:41 PM

Hag happenings :P

Had Kitty fainted? Kay couldn't tell because she was just too focused on getting the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff back. Mercifully, Justin joined her but the hag was good... maybe too good... at dodging their spells.

"We have to follow her,'' the woman had shouted to her colleague and immediately hurried off after the trio. Thank goodness she jogged with Marsha almost every morning so she was fit. But they needed help. Fortunately, she spotted Azura and Juliette not far by. "Ms Kennedy, Ms McDean! Could you go find help? Another professor, if you can.'' Or professors? Whichever worked.

Right now...

"Incarcerous!'' Kay tried at the hag again. Where was Justin? She could all the help she could get.

Charely Potter 08-03-2016 12:38 AM

Hag stuff

That Hag was just a little too lucky. How she managed to avoid them all stroke a nerve as she headed toward the forest with another kid. Really. Another kid? No, no, no.

"Get back here!" The Groundskeeper ran after her with Kay. The uneven grass trimmings would have to wait another time as they ventured through into the forest. "Do be quick girls, and don't let any other students nearby." Had to point that out with the danger going on.

Finally the Hag stopped and was apparently putting them into the pot. Nodding at Kay's next attempt, "Right. Glacius," Aiming right under the pot. No fire for you to start. Now aiming at the evil one. "Flipendo!" It was time to put a stop to her.

WhittyBitty 08-03-2016 01:46 AM

Even though Esme knew that the Hag was trying to lure her to come out to the forest as a meal, that didn't stop her from continuing the chase. Her adrenaline was pumping and all that she could think about was the fact that there were people in danger and one of them was her close friend and the other was someone she didn't know super well but still liked.

"Azura! Juliette!" she called out as soon as she saw them by the forest. They had been at the courtyard but Esme hadn't registered them until now. "What do we do?!" Professor Stewart answered seconds later as she asked the other girls to get help. Well, she would join them! At least the groundskeeper had rendered the fire useless.

"Professors Myers and Draper are closest!"

MuggleDinosaur 08-03-2016 02:56 AM

Brady was pretty sure that he had just blacked out because he had no idea what the heck was going on at the moment. One minute he was in the courtyard and the next moment he was in a cauldron in the forrest. The second year looked around at his surroundings. He say Kitty. "Hey, Kitty? Are you okay?" It was just supposed to be him here and no one else. Why did people run for him?

He didn't know what to do. He had to think of a plan.

Ursula Black 08-03-2016 06:27 AM

Ursula could see people approaching. Lots of people. She licked her lips in delight as she saw them all standing there, they would make a delicious feast for her. She let out a grunt as she saw the 2 adults coming towards her with their wands raised. She had a taste for children but she wasn't overly fussy, if they wanted to join in then she wouldn't turn them away. Ursula used the children in the pot as a shield because to her it really didn't matter if they were conscious or not. Dead or alive. The flavor was all the same to her.

The boy was speaking and Ursula reached out her hands to smooth their hair down in a caring sort of way "Now, now, of course she's okay. Everyones okay." Stress caused the flavor to turn bitter and Ursula couldn't have that. She went to her stores of ingredients and picked up the very large container of water and poured it into the cauldron. With that done she followed it up with a few other bits and pieces; liver paste, some chicken feet, herbs of course, some diced vegetables.

Goblinfrog 08-03-2016 03:01 PM

Kitty woke with a start. Like Brady she had passed out when the Hag grabbed her - and so she had missed being dragged into the forest and being tossed into a pot. For one moment she thought that it had all been a nightmare, but then Brady was asking her if she was okay and she realized it had all been real. "I'm not okay," she said with barely more than a whisper, too terrified to talk louder. Every inch of her was shaking with fear. "We're going to die, aren't we?" In her terror she hadn't even realized that there were others nearby coming to help, and she did not feel strong enough to climb out of the cauldron. She moved so as to be sitting right next to Brady, not wanting to die alone.

The Hag was approaching them. Then a bucket of water was poured into the cauldron, followed by chicken feet and vegetables.

MuggleDinosaur 08-03-2016 04:14 PM

the Scottish boy raised his eyes up towards his head as he felt the Hag touching his hair. NOBODY. TOUCHES. THE. HAIR. She wasn't allowed to do that! Nobody was! "Get your gross hand off of my hair!" He snapped at the Hag. Brady waited for Kitty to answer him back before he would say anything. He didn't want to cut her off, that would be very rude. He noticed as she moved closer to him and sat down. "No, we're not going to die. The school staff won't let that happen." He had some faith in the staff, maybe less on the new Headmaster right now. He was saved from getting eaten last term but the Hag had bit his ear, sadly.

Brady looked at Kitty and put his arm around her. Maybe that would make her feel better? He didn't really know much about the girl actually. "So what do you like to do for fun?" He asked her, hopefully a conversation about anything other than the Hag and possibly magic would make her feel better...he hoped it would make him feel better. Same with the one last term. They're allowing this sort of thing to happen at the school. How? He knew that they didn't know the whereabouts of the Hag but still. How would this happen? There should some sort of alarms or spells or something to notify the Headmaster or Headmistress and the rest of the schools staff that someone that's not supposed to be here is here. He had to think of something. He didn't know what but he had to think of something. Was it raining? No? He looked up, here we go again. Ew! Chickens feel. Bleh!

MunchyBubbles 08-03-2016 06:48 PM

Hag stuff!

Okay obviously someone needed to go get a teacher, or like several of them, right now! Her friends were in there and she didn't care if Brady wasn't talking to her.. He was still her friend, and Kitty was her housemate!

Ravenclaws forever yo!

She turned to look up at an older girl (Juliette) who had come up next to her and she slowly nodded, of course she had a plan, she was a Ravenclaw, they always had plans.. even if right now she totally didn't have a plan. Thankfully, before she could do much else, Professor Stewart and the groundskeeper showed up!

Right! They needed to get more Professors!

And then there was Esme!

"All right, One of us should go get Professor Meyers, the other Professor Draper and the last one should keep the rest of the kids away from here." Like the groundskeeper said..

Also.. Azura was thinking about doing something entirely way to Gryffindorish for her own good.. But she needed to relax and try to breathe and hope the teachers could save her friends.

"I'll stay here and keep watch." The tiny teen said with a nod as she pulled out her wand..

WhittyBitty 08-03-2016 09:29 PM

Pfft.

Did the Hag really think that they were stupid enough to believe that Brady and Kitty were okay? They clearly WEREN'T. "You hurt a hair on their heads and YOU will be far from okay." That wasn't merely a threat, that was a PROMISE. There was no way that she would get away with it if she hurt or killed students. There was a whole group of people that would be going against her and more would be added to the mix.

Uggh.

She didn't really want to leave her friends but Esme was more than fine with Azura staying behind. Just as long as this got resolved fast. "I'll go and get Professor Myers." With that, she ran off towards his office.

Sneakeh Cat 08-03-2016 09:48 PM

Juliette was a little overwhelmed at the moment. Who would blame her?! HER CLASSMATES WERE ABOUT TO GET EATTEN! Oh my merlin, this was terrible. She was about to pull her wand at the ready until she heard Professor Stewart, who was closely followed by the Groundskeeper. THANK GOODNESS they were here! She still had her hand on her wand, which was tucked away in her dress pocket once more, as thoughts swirled around her head.

"Okay, okay! I'll get help!" Get help, yes, but who?! She would think about it as she started running towards the castle, but luckily, Esme mentioned Professor Myers and Draper being the closest. At least one of the Hufflepuffs were thinking clearly! "I'll get Professor Draper!" She gave the group around her a look that said 'good luck' before she headed off towards the castle.

Hopefully nobody would get eaten while her and Esme were gone!

Ursula Black 08-04-2016 04:16 AM

Ursula frowned at the boy (Brady) who just SNAPPED at her. "Angry meat... can't.... no..." she muttered as she added more to the cauldron (10 meters of small intestine, unicorn fur, baby toe nail clippings, salt and pepper). But the boy kept talking and it was starting to irk Ursula, and the children who had followed them were refusing to join their little friends. One of them was yelling at her (Darcy) and it was making Ursula laugh a wheezy laugh. Was it a dare? So she grabbed his hand (Brady) and sunk her teeth into his arm. If he was going to ruin the meat by being stressed and rude then she'd have to savor his taste some other way. she had already gotten a taste of the young man after all.

Kolyander 08-04-2016 12:39 PM

Rather then run off the moment she herself was safe Hady let out a relieved breath when Professors Stewart and her own HoH arrived. This was good. They wouldn't allow anything bad to happen to Kitty or Brady. Not that she would either. Hazel eyes shifted back and forth between everyone as she hurried to keep up with them all following the Hag.

"Professors what should I do?" she asked gripping her wand tightly in her hand as she watched two of her friends run off to find some of the other Professors. She kept close to Ava keeping an eye on the younger girl as well as a close eye on the two others that the crazy Hag had put into a pot and was attempting to cook?! Could they all shoot spells at her and take her down already or were they really just supposed to stand around and wait? The teen wouldn't do anything that could potentially harm anyone else should her aim be off at all.

Charely Potter 08-04-2016 05:57 PM

"Unhand them you nasty Hag!" This was an outrage, right here in their territory as Justin had sent out another stunning spell towards the wicked one. Some students were still standing around though, whether they were delegating on the jobs or not. Justin didn't care. Something needed to be done.

"What should you do? Give her everything you got!" That's right, permission to attack her. "But stay close to us." No one else was getting bitten on his watch.

MunchyBubbles 08-04-2016 06:05 PM

THE HAG JUST BIT BRADY!!!!

Azura has her wand out and was marching straight up to the teachers, there was no way she was going to let her friends get eaten! She didn't care if Brady hated her.. She pulled out her wand and then looked up at the groundskeeper, who said..

To give her everything she had!

Well then.. Hag..

Here came Azura!

She aimed her wand at the hag and moved it in the appropriate motion and said "Flipendo! " She sent the spell straight towards the hag, careful not to hit anyone else.. Let's see how her dueling paid off..

Azura was furious and just wanted to march over there and..kick the hag in the knees.. No one messes with her friends..

No one.

*joins the FUN!*

Scarlett liked taking walks near the Forbidden Forest - she never went IN there of course, but just being near it made her feel like she was avoiding danger and being all rebellious. Hehe. Although today, as she walked her normal route past the forest, she heard a lot of yelling. What on EARTH? That was certainly...not normal.

Knowing the history of this place, part of her wondered if she should just...keep walking. But no, that wouldn't be right. Also, she was CURIOUS and nosy and had to know why everyone was yelling!

As she entered the area, the cries getting louder with each step, she stopped once she found a group of people and quickly scanned the area. Was that...OMG!! THE HAG! The one from last term who had pretended to be a Divination professor and RUINED the subject for Scarlett. Mouth agape, she watched as the hag seemed to be...trying to eat someone.

It was the sleepy Hufflepuff from class! Wait - wasn't he the one who'd gotten thrown in the pot by her last term? SHE WAS BACK FOR REVENGE! This was all coming back to her now. All the memories of the hag that she had tried to repress...

Taking her wand out of her pocket, she pointed it at the hag, hoping to do SOMETHING of use. "Expelliarmus!" she exclaimed, shouting the first spell that came to mind, although she wasn't sure what good it would do without a wand to target.

Sorry, short post

Kitty watched in horror as the Hag BIT Brady on the hand. "NO!" she shouted. "Get away from him!" And she tried to claw the Hag's face. Her long nails were the very last weapon she had - even when she had her wand they was still her best weapon, but now was the first time she ever used them.

Did the Hag...

...just bite Brady?

Kay would not have that. No! Not her student! With Justin urging the gathered students on to attack the Hag, she added, "Be careful not to hurt either of the kids!'' Meaning Brady and Kitty. Justin was right too. She would ensure the others were safe. Maybe the kiddos would get the hag distracted enough so that Brady and Kitty could be rescued.

Bless Kitty. Look at her fighting back.

Um.

So.

What the HELL was going on? And Where was ESME? Because he had followed her into the forest, lost track of her, and then heard all of THIS commotion just in time to see URSULA BLACK TRY TO EAT BRADY.

OF ALL THE STUDENTS, BRADY, WHO WAS ALREADY TRAUMATIZED?

Paul whipped his wand out from his pocket, aiming for the hag but trying not to shoot any awry spells at Brady or Kitty--MERLIN, BRADY, KICK HER OR SOMETHING! "RictuSEMPRA!" he cried.

itsjustjesse 08-04-2016 10:20 PM

Melbourne Johanson was confused…she had been in the treehouse minding her own business when she heard it. Screaming. Yelling. Curses being cast and a whole lot of GET AWAY FROM THEM bits being yelled by multiple voices…her curiosity had gotten the better of her.

What on earth was going on?

Sneaking closer to the forest and heading toward the commotion she saw her. The Hag. She was biting into Brady’s arm like he was the last drumstick in the bucket. NOPE. Not watching that. Still she couldn’t help but feel mad when she noticed that the hag also had Kitty.

“LET THEM GO” she yelled at her and pointed her wand right at the hag. “MELOFORS!” She cast her wand pointed right at the Hag’s head. Maybe that’d make it harder for her to eat anyone….a pumpkin around her head would suit her just nicely. Sure, there was the off chance that Brady might get a bit of Pumpkin ooze on him but that was better than the Hag's teeth.

!!!!

Hadn't Esme told the Hag that she would be sorry if she hurt either Brady or Kitty?? Clearly the message hadn't sunk in because there she was biting Brady's hand. Now she was madder than ever and about to enter killing mode.

"Excuse me. I told you to leave them alone, you ugly old prune!!" Furiously she sent the Stinging Jinx towards her.

Ursula Black 08-04-2016 11:02 PM

It was juicy and Ursula was enjoying the taste until she felt things all around her. Her mouth unclamped and pulled back as the other brat in the pot clawed at her face. "AAHH!" she shouted, pulling back and feeling the deep scratches on her face. She gave the child a nasty look and shifted her grasp to her arm instead. Planning on biting into her too, her plan was cut short.

Flipendo was cast and Ursula felt her back collide with the soft dirt. She hurriedly pulled herself up but thankfully the next spell had no effect on her as she wasn't holding anything, and Ursula let out a raspy laugh. She was back at the pot now where the two children were and she yanked a few strands of hair from both of them and put them into her pocket for safe keeping. She knew she'd have to do a runner soon and she might get hungry.

The tickling charm hit Ursula and she let out a coughing, wheezing laugh as she doubled over near the cauldron. But she had to fight this she just HAD to and she pulled herself up again, resisting the urge to laugh. But it was no good because moments later she felt something heavy over her face and she felt around it to feel a hard something. She realised it was a pumpkin! She smashed her head against the edge of the cauldron which cracked the pumpkin, and she hurriedly stuffed the bits of pumpkin into the cauldron. She liked pumpkin and it would add a nice taste to her stew. If everyone would just LEAVE HER ALONE!

But they wouldn't go away and Ursula was hit with a spell that immediately had her face swelling. "Ahh you BEASTLY BRATS!" she shouted to them all, before her tongue swelled and she realised she couldn't talk more than a few mumbled incoherent words. Her eyes were almost swollen shut. There seemed no more for Ursula to do, so she turned and fled towards the depth of the forest.

*playing catch up*

Brady looked up at the Hag and was very glad that she was frowning. The second year just stood there in the cauldron and glared at the Hag for a minute or two. Gross. She was adding more stuff to the cauldron. Brady looked down towards his feet. What was that stuff? Ew. He looked back at the Hag and spit at her. NO HAPPY HUMAN FOR YOU WITCH! The second year had heard some other students yelling spells or choice words at the Hag. What was she doing?! "LET GO OF ME WENCH!" He was pretty sure he didn't know what a wench was but it sounded like a good choice of words to use in that moment. Brady clenched his eyes shut as he felt her teeth bite into his hand. He let out a painful yell.

He felt the Hag's teeth back away from his hand, he looked down at his hanf very quickly and saw blood. HE WAS GOING TO NEED A NEW HAND but he really liked this hand he was born with, there was nothing wrong with it. Until now that is. There were teeth marks and blood. Brady didn't even know what was happening, he just felt some horrible pain going through his hand and he was sure he bit his own tongue in the process of being munched on. He felt helpless, he didn't even know where his wand was. He wanted to help but when he got some courage to do something he saw the Hag running off in the distance. "HEEEELLLP I NEED A NEW HAND!" He yelled out to one of the adults, whichever one would come over here and help his bleeding hand.

Exit stage left!

Azura was glad that more people had shown up, the force of all of their spells had driven the hag off and the teen was now shaking a bit from the experience.

Seeing Brady getting taken and bit like that had had a strange effect on her. She bit her lip as she lowered her wand and took a few steps back, trying to melt into the fray.

She heard Brady's cry for a new hand and she wanted to run to him and heal his wounds, but.. The Professor's should do that. Her purple eyes were filling with tears as she looked at her friend and she felt her chest tighten, what If something had happened to Brady? What if he wasn't around anymore? What if they never got to be friends again?

Azura bit her lip as she stumbled back more.. What was happening to her? She couldn't...

She turned around and started to run away from the scene as fast as she could.. Maybe if she was lucky he would never knew she had been there.. Or how much she cared for him..

Mostly the Hag, Brady and Azura! :D *too lazy to quote whoops*

Scarlett watched in defeat as her Expelliarmus did...nothing, which she half expected, but in the heat of the moment it was the best she could think of. Thankfully, she didn't have to worry about that for too long, because a few moments later, the hag had run away. Which was both a good and bad thing. Good because now the Sleeping Hufflepuff from class was safe, but bad because she got away AGAIN. Like seriously. WHY DID THIS KEEP HAPPENING!

"We can't let her get away AGAIN!" she exclaimed, pointing to where she had disappeared and addressing mainly the professors. After all, THEY were the adults here. They were the ones who had to catch her! Scarlett had already proved that, as a lowly second year, she probably wasn't THAT prepared when it came to hag dueling. So. Yeah. GET ON IT, PROFESSORS.

She turned to the Sleeping Hufflepuff and looked at his hand. "I don't think you need a new hand...unless hag bites are poisonous. Which I don't THINk they are," she told him, trying to calm him down a bit because he was making a scene. Although she could hardly blame him. She'd be freaking out too if this had happened to her! And honestly she had no idea if hag bites were poisonous. If so...well, the professors would fix that, right? She looked at them expectedly.

Now would be a good time to start, you know...adulting and fixing the situation!

Nearby, Scarlett noticed Azura looking like she was about to cry. Scarlett didn't know the girl all that well, but she had run into her in Diagon Alley last year and she seemed nice enough. "Azura, are you...?" she started to ask, before she turned tail and ran the other direction. Huh. Well, that was a bit odd. She was probably just upset over the whole situation, though. It was awfully...traumatic, wasn't it?

She nodded her head when he told her to lead the way, and she began running back in the direction in which she came from. "They are in the Forbidden Forrest!" She wanted to make sure he knew where they were going in case he got lost, but she had complete faith that the Professor would keep up.

Once the young girl informed him that the chaos was happening in the forrest, James didn't waste another second. He was RUNNING. He didn't have any information other than "hag" and that itself was enough to alert him that students were in danger. If the disaster of a "divination" lesson last term wasn't warning enough...

Still running, James entered the scene just in time to take note of all the chaos, all the students, and .... Poncho Paul who used A TICKLING SPELL? Yes. Good plan. GREAT plan. Let's tickle her into surrender.

Merlin.

If you want something done right, you ought to do it yourself. Not checking to make sure that the girl (Juliette) had caught up, James quickly pointed his wand at the struggling hag. "Incarcerous!" /JamesDraper.

THAT'S what Poncho should have done. Honestly, there were PLENTY of Professors present and not one of them thought it'd be a good idea to tie her up? Honestly, his coworkers were all blubbering baboons.

itsjustjesse 08-05-2016 10:17 PM

Oh…hey…Drapes was here, Mel looked over to her favorite care of magical creatures Professor EVER and grinned. It was nice to see someone that well, knew how to handle creatures because Ursula Black was a hag after all. “Hi Professor Draper…” it probably wasn’t the best time to be all starry eyed at her Professor but, he was here. HELPING! That was great.

“Azura! Brady…you guy’s alright?” She asked as the hag was trying to run into the forest. Yes, it probably wasn’t the best idea for her to go up to the cauldron and grab them but that was exactly what she was going to do. Jumping into action she dashed toward the cauldron and held out her hands to both of them. “Here, lets get you guys out of there while she’s…distracted” she whispered at her friends and tried to help them out of the cauldron.

Ursula Black 08-06-2016 01:28 AM

Ursula kept running despite the chaos that was RUINING her plan, running away that is until she heard the voice she had been waiting for. She smiled and went to turn around in hopes of luring him deep into the forest with her where of course another pot waited but he was too quick and she felt ropes tighten around her shoulders, arms, torso and legs. When she tried to turn and hop away into the forest she overbalanced and toppled over with a shriek. "YOU BEASTLY BRATS! YOU DID THIS TO ME! I'LL HAVE YOU ALL ONE DAY!!!"

Goblinfrog 08-06-2016 12:34 PM

Everything was happening so fast. Kittys scratching definitely distracted Ursula, but just as she was about to grab her arm spells started hitting the Hag, driving her away. It was then that Kitty realized that they were not alone and that they were going to live. She felt so weak with both relief and fear that she almost fainted again, but she stopped just in time. Brady was hurt. "Oh dear," Kitty fretted as Brady screamed. "Don't worry, I'll get help!" She took Mel's hand and climbed shakily out of the cauldron. "Br-Brady needs help." Her teeth chattered nervously as she talked. "I'm not sure it's safe to use my wand now because it's all wet."
