Term 43's: School Staff, Prefects, and other important people!

1. Students are to only enter their respective dormitory. No girls are allowed in the boys' dormitories, and no boys are allowed in the girls' dormitories. Offenders risk possible point loss, detention, or even expulsion--not to mention a nasty fall when the stairs toss you out. The common room, art nook, and study tables are for ALL students, so you may meet up with your house mates there. 2. PDA (Public Display of Affection) is not allowed. Occasional, mild displays of affection will be tolerated, but anything else is against the rules and will result in possible point loss, detention, or even expulsion. Remember that you are here to learn, not to hold hands and kiss each other. See this section of the School RPG rules for more information. Also note that anyone caught role playing their character behaving inappropriately will have to face the consequences of breaking that rule. 3. No drugs or alcohol are allowed in the role play. Butterbeer will be accepted in reasonable amounts. Any character caught with contraband risks point loss, detention, or expulsion. Likewise, anyone caught role playing their character as having drugs, alcohol, any other item against the site rules, or role-playing their character as being under the influence of said substances, risks having the consequences of breaking that rule. 4. Illegal activities, such as the discussion or action of downloading music or software, are not allowed. 5. No unsupervised dueling. We will have dueling in the DADA classroom and Professor Hirsch (hermionesclone), the school's DADA professor, will organize duels. So if you have a problem with a peer, we highly advise you not to resort to going at each other with wands in a dark corridor. Unsupervised dueling will be punished by point loss, detention, and in severe cases expulsion from the school. 6. Do not insult members of other houses. Be nice and respect each other. All houses hold equally amazing members. If we hear word of insults there will be severe consequences which can result in point loss, detention, or expulsion from the school. 7. Be realistic in your role-playing. We don't want to see dramatic death scences or dragons for pets etc. 8. Please restrict OOC (Out Of Character) messages to the subject title of your post, or better yet, please use the PM/VM system (Private Message/Visitor Message). If you have to leave the role play for whatever reason, you can just have your character say goodbye and head to bed, or you can PM/VM the people you are role playing with to let them know you will be back later to continue. 9. Double posting (posting more than one time in a row) is NOT allowed, so please don’t do it. Learn to make use of the multi-quote function, and if you are uncertain on how it works, please contact a House leader. 10. Be part of the Ravenclaw team and attend classes, complete homework and participate in extracurricular activities like Gobstones. Every little bit counts! 1. Ravenclaw isn't in first place in the house points race! Why is that and how can I help out? House points are given to characters that attend classes, doing class projects/activites, or do good deeds around the school. The best way to earn points for your house is to attend classes. You can check which classes are in session and what activities are due in the Announcements Board thread in the main Common Room Forum. 2. How do I properly make an announcement about a class or homework assignment in the Announcements thread? When helping out your housemates by making a post in the Announcements thread, you must include the following: *Link to the Classroom thread/Forum the lesson will be/is hosted in. *Either copy or directly quote the Staff Members lesson notice. *Ensure that a due date is listed for each class project/activity. *Read the recent posts before you add your own, we don't want any doubles. 3. I'm new to the role play! How do I get started and where do I go from here? SnitchSeeker is full of friendly people that are more than willing to help new members find their way around the site and in the RPG. If you can't find someone to role play with, you can either PM or VM someone, or you can just jump right on in and have your character introduce himself or herself. Another great place to look for someone to RP with or just get involved in what is going on in the school is the School Chat located in the Hogwarts Haven club forum. Or the Merlin's Beard thread where all the juicy school plot action will be quoted for stalking or even getting yourself and your character involved in.:shifty: [To join the club if you are not a member go to your User CP (user control panel) under on the panel on the left under the heading 'Networking' click on 'Social Groups' then look for the club called 'SS RPG Addicts' choose 'join group' in the right corner. As soon as you get a confirmation PM you can join in the discussions.] 4. How do I choose a model for my character? How can I get graphics made for my character? To choose a model for your character, just find an actress, actor, or other celebrity whose age and appearance closely matches the age and appearance of your character. If you'd like to get graphics made for your character, visit Madame Malkin's and request a set from one of our talented members. 5. Can I have dragon for a pet like Hagrid had in the books? No, no dragons. All students are allowed to bring any one of the traditional magical pets to school: an owl, a toad, a rat, a cat. All other desired pets must be approved by both the Care of Magical Professor Ariana Black and School Admins either (Cassirin) or (grangerfan8). If you wish to bring a particular pet then PM (Private Message) Ariana Black and Cassirin or grangerfan8 to ask for permission. 6. How quickly does time pass in the role play and how do I know what time of year it is? Each school year is what we call a term. The current school year is 2088-2089. So where students would usually go to school from September to June, our terms do not actually last a year. Each month in the role play is equivalent to two weeks in real life, so you'll find that time flies fairly quickly for your characters. As each month passes an announcement will pop up with a yellow speaker icon indicating which month we are in. By clicking on this, it will then inform you on what the weather is like in the role play and you will be able to respond to it accordingly. After all you wouldn't wear a skirt when it’s snowing. |
