As the last students returned to the classroom with their meteorites - and the man in far too good a mood to notice what Mr. Prince was up to at present - Airey nodded his head and clapped his hands together to draw attention to his person once more.

"Stellar job, all of you," he nodded. "That is all we have planned for today, but I want you all to hold on to your meteorites. As I said before, they are yours to keep. A little piece of the greater universe out there. Now, for those of you seeking a bit more extra credit, there will be an opportunity involving those very meteorites available to you very soon. After all, those space rocks are an awfully long way from home and could use a little...tender, love, and care." He took this opportunity to give Pebbles a VERY obvious look before addressing the class once again. "Keep an eye on my notice board for further details. Class dismissed!"

OOC: terribly sorry for the delay once again. Information about this optional extra credit option will be posted on Sky News soon. This thread will close in approximately 12 hours.

Thank you all for your participation <3

In all honesty, Sky felt disadvantaged because she was little. All the big kids had longer legs and thus able to go faster and get to the easier rocks first ... The only advantage she did have was that she could wedge into smaller spaces but they took more time so the first year had spent all her time going after the easy ones... Only to be beat there by an older kid. Not to mention the pathways was rather distracting cause of all the things along side it that kept catching the eleven year olds attention. She was sure by the time she found a rock and made it back to the towers , class would be over...

Determined as she was, Sky finally saw one... Wedged under one of the bushes , Sky had to lay on her belly and stretch to grope around for it... How it got under that she had no idea, but once she felt the cold stone in her fingers she held it tightly and jumped back up , sprinting back to the towers...

Obviously she had been on the pathways before. But that was only to get to her classes. She hadn’t had the time to really explore the grounds yet since she was still getting lost in the castle when going to her classes and she needed to learn that first. But today she wanted to do something different and got outside.

The first year Gryffindor walked around in her muggle clothes. She wasn’t going to wear her uniform if she didn’t have classes. Bec walked on, enjoying the peace and quiet as she looked at the plants around her. The rose bushes reminded her of her first Herbology lesson but she didn’t stop to smell them. Instead, a bench had magically appeared just when she was thinking about sitting down and with a small smile, the first year sat down. As she looked at the roses, she wondered when Fiyero was going to give her his photograph of the rose in mid-transformation.

Or had he only been joking? Bec frowned as she thought. Perhaps she should seek him out later. But not now. The girl leaned back in her seat and placed her bag on her lap. She opened it up and pulled out some gummy worms which she started to eat while enjoying the colorful weather.

Once inside the classroom, Sky took a moment to catch her breath which wasn't long enough as she felt wheezy still, "i-I-I f-f-found.... I made ... Here!" Sky said through broken English, presenting the rock with a flourish to the weird astronomy professor .

Class was over already?

Esme had been hoping that they could do some more with their space rocks - yes, she knew that they were really called meteorites - but figured that maybe Professor Flamsteed was leaving everything else to the optional project. Maybe she would do that; space rocks were interesting even if she wasn't exactly an expert on Astronomy and it wasn't her favourite subject.

"Thanks for the lesson, Professor. It was very interesting." And now she had a rock to keep so yaaay. Smiling, she packed up her things and waited for her sister so that they could head out together.

Waiting until the last student had exited the classroom, Airey picked Pebbles up and headed towards the door himself - eager to get this little pet project of his underway and locking the door behind him.
