Potions Lesson 1 Thank you Stefan As you walk into the Potions classroom for your lesson, you won't see your Professor. Where is he? In his place is his rat-baby, Madame Curie. IC this is half way through the year, so the students would have all met Art by now. Please familiarise yourself with the guidelines. Art's lessons usually begin with students walking into the lab, retrieving their white lab coats from hooks along the side of the wall (which you all wrote your name on during the first lesson of the term), and setting up their work space for the lesson. You can chat amongst yourselves, but nothing too full on. I will post in about 12 hours. |
Madge Always liked to arrive in class early. She still wasn't quite sure how she felt about the Potions professor, although she had been to the class every time she had it scheduled. It took her a lot time to really get a feel for people. She popped into the classroom and made her way to the seat she usually sat at, about the middle of the classroom, not too far front and not too far back either. She laid down her tattered first year potions book, her quill and ink, as well as her note parchment.Then she set the small wooden crate that read "Potions" on he side onto her desk. These were the equipment she had bought in Diagon Alley in the second-hand shops, or from her grandmothers basement. Everything she owned was second hand... except for her shiny black buckle shoes. once everything was on her desk she whipped off her school cloak and folded it neatly over her chair and then went to the overcrowded wall of lab coats and retrieved hers, and pulled it on. She returned to her desk and began to unload her potions crate just so - her cauldron (standard size 2 Pewter, of course), her scales, and everything else they used for most lessons. And once everything was set up neatly and in an intuitive working set-up, she slid the crate under her desk. She looked up tot he desk and saw that the professors rat was there. Madge loved animals, so she smiled at her and said "Good Day, madame Curie." she gave a small giggle, the joke never seemed to get old for her. Or was her name a pun? Madge wasn't quite sure on the definition of pun... so possibly. |
Time for another Potions class. At some point, Ava still hoped that she could stay home a little bit longer. But she couldn't, Christmas break was over and now it's time to back to school again. But at least this class was Potions, which she enjoyed (not as much as Defense Against the Dark Arts though). So far she didn't really mind with this new Professor. Well, he was no Culloden (and nobody could replace him) but he was alright (but still less cool than Culloden). After she had some food, the young lioness headed out to the potions classroom. Getting her lab coat, she noticed that the Professor was there. Only Madame Curry the rat was on his place. Oh, maybe he needed to go to the bathroom first, or still having his meal. That's okay. She took a seat at the front row and... Wait. |
It was time for Potions and Janelle was looking forward to the class, as usual. She still hadn't quite gotten used to the fact that Professor Cullodeen was gone, but seeing that the year was half over...........she would have to get over that. Entering the room, Janelle noticed that there was no Professor in sight. Spotting the rat, she wondered for a second if he was an Animagus. It was possible. It had happened before. "Bonjour Madame Curie", Janelle said cheerfully. After grabbing her lab coat, Janelle put it on and then headed for the sink to wash her hands. Old habits died hard. Then it was on to her work station, where she prepared her things for the lesson. She wondered what they would be brewing today. |
Suri hated studying. It was boring, long, and always seemed annoyingly pointless. She liked knowing things, and if she didn't know something then she wanted to be the one who got to decide if it was worth learning about. No offense to all the adults - or maybe a little offense - but they didn't always know what was best for her. Even her mother didn't. Especially not now when she was super fat and busy with growing a baby inside her stomach. Suri shuddered at the thought. Potions, in contrast, was one of the few classes the twelve year old actually enjoyed. It reminded her of cooking but it involved magic instead of flour and consisted of very little wandwork, for which she was grateful. Lightning was the best wand, but they weren't the best of friends yet and he still wouldn't listen to her at times (most of the time). Potions didn't require Lightning to do much of anything, so today she bounced into the classroom with an amicable upturn of her lips and a will to learn something new. Doing her quick customary Daxton search - he wasn't here yet - Suri grabbed her lab coat from the wall and moved to take her seat on the second row. She eyed the Professor's pet rat for a few long moments, then shrugged and began to set up her station. Wasn't it strange to keep a pet rat if you used rat bits in potions all the time? Seemed odd to her. |
Potions time again. Noting she was early, Bonnie considered sneaking out and heading back to the common room. The thought of curling up on a chair with her book was very tempting but her conscience wouldn't allow it. Instead she would spend her time in the dungeons struggling to stay awake. Bonnie took her seat and began to take out her potions book, parchment and quill. She grabbed her lab coat and returned to her workstation. |

"Ehm, hi there..." she said to the girl close by. "My name's Madge." She blushed, okay maybe being outgoing wasn't her thing... but she had made herself noticed now so what can you do? |

"Wh-what?" Something was pulling her out of her daydream. Ahh it was a girl trying to speak to her. Bonnie was so used to being in her own little world she'd hardly spoken to anyone. "Oh hi there! Sorry I was miles away, Madge was it?" Maybe if she spent more time in the here and now she wouldn't appear so rude, which just wasn't her. "I'm Bonnie" she smiled and extended her hand. |

Yes, the girl was definitely an introspective type, she could tell, which meant maybe they could sit together and read in silence. The perfect acquaintanceship, if you asked her. "Are you a first year too?" Madge asked. |
Mason walked into the Potions Classroom, giddy to be back in her favourite subject ever. She passed where Professor Newton always sat and noticed that little rat of his. "Animagus. . ." she whispered before giving the rat a salute. "Good Evening, Madame Curie. I hope you don't die from radiation-poising like your namesake." Mason strode towards where their lab coats hung and snatched the one that had her name written on in her overly-girly script. http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/...psylqso5pr.png She made her way towards one of the tables and pulled on the lab coat, wishing that Professor Newton would just reveal himself as the rat, (again, ANIMAGUS) and start the lesson. |
Brian was pretty much still half-asleep when he walked into the potions laboratory. But there was no real surprise there, really. The Hufflepuff was usually found either sleeping or close to sleep or eating or being hungry. There was very rarely anything else on his mind than music, food and sleep. Sleep. He was so sleepy he barely had the presence of mind to acknowledge the professor person as he went to get his lab coat off the hook, but when he turned around, there was no professor to be found. Strange. So coat on, the boy shuffled towards a workstation and started setting up. And tried to wake himself up a little before the lesson started. Where was Timmy? She was usually earlier than him to these things, the last time he checked. Today was such a strange day. |
It was a lovely day for potions, was it not? Zeke had arrived with time to spare, adjusting his tie and absently running a hand through his hair to correct it. No professor yet? He was cool with that. After grabbing his lab coat, he took a seat in his usual spot near the front. And with that Zeke began unpacking his essentials from his bag and lay them out in front of him. After titling his notes page with the date, Zeke exchanged smiles with some of his peers before shooting a look at the glorified rat. Madam whatever-its-name-was. |
In her nervousness to face yet another Potions lesson and not cause disaster, Rachel had not examined her face when she had risen from sleep. If she had, she would have noticed the drawings on her face which included an elephant and an eagle complements, unknowingly, of Hadddie the night before! Poor Rachel simply worriedly combed her hair into her plaits after her morning shower and departed for class after dressing. At the classroom, she peeked into the room. There was no Professor Art around but there was Madam Curie. "Good morning, Madam Curie. Will you be teaching us today?'' Rachel dearly wanted to pet the rat but knew better. She put on her lab coat then hurried off to take a seat, her face still lively animated with Haddie's handiwork. She smiled at Ava and Janelle as she took up position next to Mason. "Hello, Mason.'' The Snake received a smile as Rachel went about preparing her workstation for today's lesson. |
Ilia walked into the classroom rather nonchalantly and took her inscribed lab coat off of the wall. She decided to be informal about it and wrote Ilia F. Valke. She felt like using her preferred name rather than her actual first name. She walked deeper into the classroom and smiled at the rat. "Hello, Madame Marie Curie. I trust that you are having a good day?" Yes she knew that the rat was not going to respond to her in English, but she greeted everyone's pets. Even Pebbles the rock got a hello from her. She did not yet see the professor though....what was it with Hogwarts and disappearing professors? Oh well he'd show up. She looked the classroom over and the moment she saw Zeke Browne , decided on the complete opposite end of the room. She still, couldn't stand that kid. |
Carl walked into the classroom, forcing a smile onto his face. Potions was not his strongest subject - as a matter of fact, it was his worst. He always thought he did everything as instructed, only to end up with a bad result. Hopefully he would do better in this lesson. But ... where was Professor Newton? He liked the Professor and was disappointed to not see him at his usual place. "Hello, Madame Curie." The Hufflepuff said instead at the rat. He made his way to the hooks along the side of the wall and retrieved his white lab coat. It made him feel like a scientist! Having a Professor Newton and a Madame Curie also added to the effect. With a real smile, he made his way to his seat at the back of the classroom. He then began setting up his Potions materials for the lesson. |
What the. . . . ? SPOILER!!: 0______0 Mason had been setting up her scales when she heard someone sit next to her. She gave said someone a quick sideways-glance and decided from the braids that it was Rachel even before she had greeted her. "Hey, Rachie-Ru!" she lifted her head and focused on her instead of the scales, "You ready to mash up some Acro----------" Mason gawked at Rachel. I am not going to laugh, I am not going to laugh. Merlin I need to laugh. She raised her finger to Rach's freckled, and sharpied, face. She traced the elephant with her finger before smirking, "That elephant looks a little disfigured to me." she told Rachel with a slight smirk, "Who decided to use your face as a canvas?" She gave her friend a sympathetic smile and tried wiping some of the ink off. Nothing. This reeked of revenge. And there was only one person bold enough to do something like this. . . |
Potions!! The now twelve year old little girl bounced carefully into class with a smile on her face! No creepy doll or missing of best friends or confusion over boys was going to bring her down today! She smiled as she looked around and moved to get her lab coat. She didn't see the Potions professor, but she was assured he would be here soon!! She blinked as she saw Rachel with drawings on her face! Had Haddie struck again? She saw her talking to Mason and moved over to join them. "Uhh Rachel, what happened to your face?" She asked concerned as she turned her purple eyes to look over at Mason. "Hi!" |
Sam dumped her bag on what had become her usual desk, pulling out her quill and parchment absent-mindedly as she looked around the room for the Professor. The Professor who wasn't here, but had left his rat in his place. She shrugged, now used to the concept of an absent teacher, and went to pick up her lab coat from the hooks. Spotting her dorm mates as she returned, she gave Rachel and Azura a friendly wave and hi. Did the former know her face was covered in pen? Of course there was only one person in their dorm she could see doing such a thing. Sam rubbed her own face subconsciously, glad she'd had time to look in the mirror this morning. If Haddie ever did such a thing to her... There'd be trouble, for sure. |
Errr, where was rat man? Walking to the classroom, Esme was a little confused, but it didn't really matter; he would be there soon enough. As it was, his little pet was with them. She would just... keep her distance and head over to a workstation. Yeah. Instead she focused on getting her lab coat. Seeing Rachel and Azura sitting with a girl she wasn't familiar with (Mason) she decided to join them. "Hey, guys! What's with your face, Rachel? Do you like animals so much that you had to draw them on your face?" A little weird, but she would respect her friend's decision. |
Matt had to resist the urge to take his blaster with him to the lesson. Actually, he didn't resist the urge at all. He had brought it with him and had placed it under the lab coat with MATT SOLO written on it. Nice and tucked away along with his wand because obviously one was as important as the other. The Gryffindor took his seat just in time to hear some people asking what was wrong with Rachel's face. Without blinking, the boy turned to see it too, because curiosity got the best of him. "HAHAHA, COOL! Who did that??" |
Haddie entered, looking as unhappy to be in potions as ever. Brewing a potion was exactly like cooking, and there was a reason she was banned from helping in the kitchen at home. She should probably be banned from the potions lab too, but it was a required subject. Seriously. There were other things contributing to her mood that no one knew about yet. Not that she had anyone to talk about it with anymore. Rachel still hadn't bothered to apologize or show any sign that she cared at all about how much she'd hurt Haddie. Ailsa couldn't be bothered to pry her nose out of a book for two seconds let alone long enough to have a conversation. Everyone else seemed to constantly flock around Rachel. Haddie only had herself, and she was learning to be fine with that. Really. Not like it will matter after this year, anyway. Still the sight of Rachel's face cheered her up immensely. So much so Haddie had to chew on her lip to keep from laughing. She grabbed her lab coat, making a small detour that forced her to pass next to Rachel. She waved to Mase and Azzy and Sammy as she approached. "Nice make-up," she said. They were the first words she'd said to Rach in weeks and her voice still held a lot of frost to it, renewed all the more now that she'd given up on waiting for Rachel to even try to mend their friendship. She hadn't done or said anything to Rachel this whole time, being exceptionally patient with the freckle-faced eagle. But the time of waiting was over. Haddie kept walking, not waiting to hear anything Rach said back. She made her way to the far side of the room and pulled out her quill, a notebook and her partially melted cauldron. A mishap during a lesson back in October. At least it hadn't melted so much she couldn't use it. |
SPOILER!!: Azy! Mason looked from Haddie's artwork and smiled as Azura joined them, "Azy!" Mason said and beckoned the Ravenclaw closer, "I was just asking her that! Haddie did a fine job though. She really has an eye for this type of thing!" She poked the eyeball on Rachel's cheek and gave her a little pat on the shoulder. It wasn't like everybody didn't know that this was Haddle-Pop's work and Mason made a metal not to mess with the girl, ever. SPOILER!!: Esme! Merlin, their little table sure was popular. This time an older-looking girl joined them. And one that Mason did in fact, not know. So she put on her best Slytherin-smile and stuck her hand out to the girl, "Hi! I'm Mason." Mason laughed at her comment, before pretending to cough. She didn't want to offend Rachel (more than she already had). "Her ex-best friend got revenge on her. That's what we all think anyway." she told the still unknown girl, before turning back to Rach. "I never heard the full story, though. WHAT exactly did you do that was so horrible?" Text Cut: Haddle-Pop Mason didn't want to get in between this fight. She wasn't going to choose a side. She was friends with both Haddie and Rachel. She wasn't going to let their stupid little feud ruin that. So when Haddie waved to her, she felt obligated (as her friend), to wave back. And she did it with a huge grin, since she found the prank hilarious, She hoped that Haddie wasn't mad at her too, and she hoped that the Ravenclaw didn't think that Mason hated her now. Uggggh, why were girls so difficult?! |
Another Potions class. Blaise was still getting used to not having Professor Culloden being around the place but this one wasn't so bad he supposed. It wasn't until he'd shrugged on his coat and turned that he realized the Professor was nowhere to be found. Huh. The first thought was that he was pulling a Professor Primeaux and skipping out on his teaching duties but how many people like that could Professor Moxley really have hired? There was just no way. Surely the Professor had a good enough reason and would actually be here when the lesson started. All he had to do was sit tight and that was exactly what he did. Just waiting. |
POTIONS! This was the subject Ariadne was RAISED to excel at! Now if she could just love up to that expectation, it would be AWESOME. So far, she'd done well. Her cauldron was still in place and not exploded, at least. She was nowhere near the expert level her mom and sister were at, but she was only a first year. She had time. After grabbing the white lab coat with her signature etched inside, Ariadne headed to her station, which was somewhere in the vicinity of Rachel, Haddie, Mason, and Azura. "Hey, girls!" she said, taking her seat. Something was going on with Rachel's face, but it seemed to be getting enough attention for now, so Ariadne didn't make a move to add to that. Instead, she started setting up her station, so that everything would be in place when the lesson began. The professor's pet rat was nearby, so Ariadne gave him a hello just in case he was super magical and could understand what she was saying. "Hiii, Madame Curie!" she said. |
Aaand its time to cook! .... Well if feels like cooking. Not everything that comes out of a pot is edible innit? That’s curly top logic for yah. And in one fluid motion Tenacius swung by the lab coat rack, took his coat and slid behind his assigned Potions table, even managing a smooth "W'zup Furry Curry." as he greeted the tater tot fur ball. Matt was going about something... Tenacius turned to look at the commotion and..... ? His blue-green gaze fell on the Ravenclaw girl (Rachel) "Nice face tatoos!" thumbs up yup yup |
Elsa walked in, light thuds announced her arrival as she found her way to a table down the center of the room. First row was too much for her, but since potions was one of her favorite subjects so far, she needed to be close to the professor in order to suck in all the knowledge she could. She could se Azura sitting with some friends and gave her a small wave of her hand from her seat. Taking a few roles of parchment and a quill from her bag and crossing her legs under the table she checked her wrist for a hairband. Today she wore her hair loose around her face, but when brewing potions it was always best to keep the hair from her face - she learnt that the painful way. A few more glances around the room told her the teacher was no where in sight so she dribbled a few swirls in the top corner of her parchment. |
There was a small fuzzy thing here. Instead of the professor. This was Jay's first thought upon slipping into the room. The rat was here, but the professor was not. The boy collected his little white coat, put his things on the frontmost station, and crept closer to her. He was so weak when it came to small furry things. So very weak. He touched his pocket, currently devoid of the small lump of hedgehog that was customarily found there. He really needed to ask the professor if he could bring his pet to class too. It'd be fun. Maybr Sniffler and the rat would get along. Strike up an unlikely friendship that Muggles could make childrens' movies about. He gave the rat a little wave before scurrying back to his station to get his things prepared. Later, he vowed. Later he would definitely hold that furry rat. |
Rachel giggled. There was another nickname for her and this time it was complements of Mason. But her giggling was cut short. Why in the name of Belle's love for books was she looking at her like that? She watched in confusion as the Snake raised a finger to her face. "Elephant? Canvas? What are you on about, Mason?'' She flinched at the finger rubbing against her face. What was going on? Then there were more persons questioning her about her face. Confused looks were given to Azura, Sam and Esme. "I really have no idea what you girls are talking about.'' Her hand made a quick dive into her bag for her hand held mirror. For the first time that day she looked at her reflection and gave a small cry of surprise. She knew instantly who had done it. Haddie! Thinking of the girl... there she was. Before Rachel could say anything, the girl was mocking her. The dark haired eagle just looked at her sadly as she walked away. Rachel had given up on trying to mend their friendship. Haddie never wanted to talk to her anymore and this was the firstie in a long time words had been exchanged. She smiled sadly at Matthew. "Someone who I thought of as my best friend.'' She scrubbed vigorously at her face so that it turned pick but none of the various drawing could come clean. Rachel look dejectedly at her friends. "Do any of you know a spell that could remove these?'' She rubbed at her face again, providing Mason with an answer. "I tried to help Haddie and David be friends. It didn't go too well. Haddie thought I was betraying her because... because IhaveacrushonDavid.'' Her cheeks went even pinker as she flung herself down in her seat, wanting to keep out of sight of everyone. She did manage a weak smile in Ariadne's and Tenacius's directions before doing so. |
Also for Deniz!Katherine, if you're here. :3 Potions. The class with a rat. A real, live, probably dirty, rat. Jace wanted to learn so much about Potions, knowing that he’d do really well in that class seeing that he’s good enough with details, and precision. The only downside in this class is the professor’s pet. Why can’t he have a cat instead? Noticing that the rat is in class, Jace swallowed his whimper, got his white lab coat and went to sit near the front. Yes, he’s not going to shy away from the professor’s pet, unless it decides to join him at his table... The Ravenclaw wore his lab coat, as per usual in that class, and turned to wave at his friends. Erm...whatever happened to Rachel’s face? Jace grinned, not saying a word, and waited quietly for the professor to arrive. |
Colt was really keen on checking out the potions class. He had a soft spot for potions because he could mix and just follow directions. There wasn't too much thought into it. After he finished his lunch, he made his way down to the potions classroom. He was kind of happy this classroom was next to his common room. He didn't have to walk far to relax after his lesson. As he walked through the opening for the potions classroom, he saw there wasn't a professor but....a rat? Woah hold up. A rat was teaching them? I mean come this rat might not know anything besides knowing where the food was. Even the rat was creepy. He wasn't too fond of them when he was living in NYC for the time being. He wasn't even going to touch it, he made his way to his seat. He sat a few seats back from it, keeping his eye on it. That rat better not climb under his desk. The creature should be well trained that is for sure. He got out his notebook and began to doodle for the time being. |
After doing up her lab coat, Esme smiled at the girl who introduced herself as Mason. "Nice to meet you, I am Esme," she said as she shook her hand. It seemed that their table was rather popular and hopefully rat man wouldn't mind. They would see soon enough. "Wait, what?" she asked with wide eyes as it was explained to her what had happened. "That is a really childish thing to do." She frowned. Was Haddie the girl who used to be with Rachel all the time? "I could use Scourgify on you?" she suggested, not wanting to do it unless her friend was okay with it. "And what's wrong with David?" He seemed perfectly nice to her when they met in Sugarplums... Yep, she was ignoring the fact that Rachel had a crush on him, because she didn't want to embarrass her further by mentioning it. |
Sam returned Haddie's wave from where she was leant forward on her desk to be closer to the other girls, though couldn't help but notice the frosty tone the other Ravenclaw used. Somehow she'd missed out on the gossip of what had happened between the former besties, though she'd noticed the effect it'd had on the dorm atmosphere eventually. She was friendly with both though, and she hoped to stay that way, ideally. Sadly she didn't know any spells of use to Rachel, and could only wince as the girl trying rubbing the pen off so hard it made her face pink. "Sorreh," she said, shaking her head lightly and keeping an eye for their professor. She was still playing catch up on her reading, sadly, so hadn't been able to read ahead much. "Mabbe one of the oldeh girls 'as some of dat make up for covering spots up though?" Or...she had another thought. A crazy one, maybe, but worth considering. She rummaged around in her bag for the pen she'd picked up in Muggle Studies, and held it out. "Or I got dis else?" It wouldn't be so weird if they ALL did it, right? Also...Rachel had a crush on David?! So. Out. Of. The. Loop. |
Holiday break was over. Done. Finished. It was time to get her head back into her studies and first up was Potions. Not one of her better classes but certainly not on of her worst either. Like always she up and ready for the lesson, her robes clean and tidy, long brunette hair tied back into a tight french braid. Entering the room Hady noticed instantly that the Professor wasn't there. However Madame Curie was there on his desk. Well alrighty-o then. With a small shrug of her shoulders she hitched her bag up higher on her shoulder. Grabbing her lab coat with her name on it she headed for her usual seat up front giving the rat a light grin as she did. Setting her bag down the fifth year pulled out a clean sheet of parchment which she dated before pulling on the lab coat and taking a seat. |
Colt, Hady and everyone in between :-) SPOILER!!: Colt! SPOILER!!: Hady! Not content with simply doodling the corner of her parchment , Elsa proceeded to draw on the entire page, making a few simple sketches of the teacher's pet. She leaned back from her parchment and smiled proudly. Yep, Potions was her favorite subject, but drawing was something she loved. It was a bummer Hogwarts didn't provide a more artistic vein of the program. She would so be into it. She eyed the classroom around her one more time, a few more people had arrived. She saw Hady sit in the front of the room all tidy and ready. She smiled in her direction, waving her fingers, acknowledging her. Her eyes swept the rest of the newcomers and fell on a fellow Slytherin whose name she thought she knew. Colt she thought. She eyed him with curiosity, he seemed to be accessing if it was safe to seat near the rat or not. A smiled pulled up one of the corners of her mouth and she glanced down, making a few more changes to her drawing |

Anyone can feel free to chat with me until class starts! The room was starting to fill up with people and it was making Madge a bit uncomfortable. There were so many people at this school and she has now successfully talked to one person... and it's mid-term. Good job. She was intimidated by a lot of the other students, even the ones her age. Because most of them, except the muggle-borns, knew about this world and magic for a long time, but it was hidden from her until the day she received her letter. Quote:

All the people! ALL the places! As Azura moved over to Mason she smiled at Sam and waved at her, before also grinning at Ariadne! She sighed as she joined Mason and shook her head at this whole Rachel/Haddie feud! She was staying out of it! She liked both girls, and she wanted to be friends with both of them! She looked at Mason and whispered "It's over a boy." She said with a nod, before Esme came to clean off Rachel's face! Merlin! Such a mess! Another day, another potions lesson. And Olivia could take it or leave it. She was doing well enough so far, it being helpful that she hadn’t really needed her wand much if at all during the previous classes. And the professor having a pet rat that came to the lessons didn’t bother her at all, as long as it stayed out of her way because she didn’t want to run the risk of her getting injured while she herself worked. All in all the Ravenclaw was so-so on the feelings on the subject. She made her way down to the dungeons in time for the latest class, coming into the lab to notice quite a few students already there. Including a good number of her friends and dormmates. However as she entered to find a seat, Olivia saw that not only were Haddie and Rachel still not hanging out near each other, but Rachel had some…drawings on her face that she doubted she put there herself. “Sorry Rachel, I can’t help,” she apologized as she sat down nearby and heard the girl ask if anyone knew a spell to remove them. |
"Do you think it would work?" Rachel asked Esme hopefully. "I wouldn't mind as long as these silly marks come off.'' She spared a look at her mirror again before drawing her attention to Sam. Oh, Sam! She felt a rush of affection for her fellow first year. "I appreciate that but I wouldn't let your or the other girls' pretty faces be drawn upon.'' There was no way she would allow that. "Nothing's wrong with him. It's not really like that,'' Rachel spoke up again, looking at Azura and Esme. "Haddie and David dislike each other for some reason and I was only trying to help them be friends. Haddie mistook that as betrayal.'' She refused to repeat the part about her crush again so she left it as that. She felt crushed that Haddie would go this far. Rachel bit her lower lip, trying not to become overwhelmed with this situation. Luckily, Olivia arrived as a distraction. "It's okay. Thank you all the same.'' Could Professor Art arrive soon? She just wanted the lesson to get started. |
Elliot shuffled into the potions classroom picking up his white coat before doing a double-take at the small rat where he was certain the professor was supposed to be. He moved to one of the tables getting his things in order trying not to stare too much but really, what was that rat doing there? He was suddenly very thankful Kamja hadn't tried to follow him to class again because the black cat would have made quite the scene. |

SPOILER!!: “Azura She kept sketching and sketching until she was satisfied with the result and there was no more empty space on that piece of parchment. She choose one of her sketches, separated it from the rest with her wand, folded it in 4 and waved her wand over it, turning it into a bird origami and sending it flying towards Azura. In the paper one could read “I heard someone say snakes like rats. You should keep this one in case you come across a stray snake, you can feed it the drawing!” she looked at her for her reaction, with a wink ready and completely oblivious to the faint pink in her cheeks. SPOILER!!: Elliot Her stare turned to a boy sitting on the table next to her. She smiled at him too. Merlin, she was all smiles today wasn't she? She tapped her drawing again, making her sketches follow each other around the parchment. |
Oblivious for a Ravenclaw XD Kitty walked in to the Potions room and took her white coat, rather oblivious to the rat or to the commotion going on around Rachel's face. She saw it, but she didn't stop to think that it was a prank. This was because she was still fuming about her mom forcing her to attend the dueling club. Just this morning she had received another letter telling her in no uncertain terms that she was forbidden to pull out. After this class Kitty was going to write an angry letter back. Her mind was fully occupied with what she would say. "Hi Azura! Hey Rachel and Mason." She smiled vaguely at them and sat down in a seat nearby, not commenting on Rachel's face. So preoccupied was she that she wondered if it was just a new and interesting type of make up. "Good morning Haddie!" She waved at Haddie, who was sitting farther away. Then she went back to thinking about what she would say in her letter. |

She didn't know what was up with her, but seeing as there was a girl with an odd taste in face make up, why couldn't she distribute rats? |

Suri :/ Slipping into the room, Marsha quietly moved to sit down in the empty seat next to Suri. She wasn't in that great a mood today, she missed Alis and Rhys and wanted cuddles that only they could give her. She wanted to smile, honestly she did but today... it just wasn't happening and she personally didn't really know why. ... After all, this wasn't the first time that she had felt homesick. BUT that didn't matter, because she was just going to sit here quietly and make her potion as required. Suri got a single, small forced smile before she rested her chin in her palm and waited for class to start. |
Art walked through the Classroom door, a large tray full of all of the ingredients they would be using today. "G-good morning everyone!" he greeted the class, setting the tray down on his desk. He gathered his own white coat from under his desk and put it on. "Have they all been behaving Madame Curie?" he asked his baby. She gave a few sniffs of her nose as she looked up at him, before returning her interest to the students. Interpreting that as a yes, he started to remove the ingredients from the tray and organise them on his desk. "N-" he started to say, but his gaze paused at Miss. Watson. There was some uh... stuff on her face. He hoped her friends had said something? If not, he would try and say something discreetly to her later. He knew how the young women were about their faces, and having attention on them. "Now, I hope you uhh, I hope you all had a good holiday?" he asked, looking around. "Today I'd like you all to break into pairs. Whoever you want to work with is fine with me." He gave them a few minutes to break into their pairs and re-shuffle between their desks if need be. It was number 6 on his list of plants he wanted a chance to interact with, so it had been a major accomplishment. Merry Christmas to him, you know? On top of all the other awesome things he'd gotten as presents, many of which had been school oriented. PARTNERS?! Ohhhh he really wanted to get a good one. The small boy looked behind him and around the classroom, trying to decide as others moved to pair themselves off. It was strange, the professor not being in the classroom when Tia arrived in the Potions Lab that first lesson back after holiday. Though it wasn't particularly surprising, given all that she'd seen in her time at Hogwarts. And it wasn't long before the Professor arrived either, addressing his rat baby first. Well he said good morning to them, but then he addressed his rat baby. Priorities, obviously. Just as her workstation was cleaned and ready for use, her labcoat donned. And they were partnering. He loved Potions, and he enjoyed Professor Netwon, but uhhhh, for some reason today, he couldn't stop staring at Rachel's face. ...then better judgment kicked in. Mmmmm nahhhhhhhhhhhhh, he wasn't going to push the zig-zag thing. Actually, he wasn't going to push anything at all. He was probably just not seeing things correctly. Davie's glasses most likely needed a new prescription, because he was growing and his pants were all looking like highwaters, whatever those were, he didn't know, his mum just said things at him sometimes, like that time she shouted at him to hair cut and he'd gotten his hairs cut but it hadn't been enough hairs apparently, and really who knew what women wanted anyway? Who could understand them sometimes? Or most times? What if those WERE zits and he pointed them out to Rachel and then she hated him forever and would not only NOT be his partner in potions, but also not be his partner in ANYTHING ELSE EVER AGAIN, so it would be best to just not risk it, nope, so he was just going to keep standing over here in the back of the room, with his arms crossed over his chest, while Rachel stood over there on the other side of the room, with her... bevy of ladies, doing lady things. Everything seemed to be a-okay when the professor made his appearance and the first year made sure to switch her attention to the man as he started gathering them for the start of class. Oh...partners. Sure she wasn't shy, but she always seemed to have to look for partners, debating who to go with. Tenacius, with mentions of Rachel and Esme Haddie frowned at mention of the holidays. That was the last thing she wanted to think about right now. Oh, Look! Esme was scourgifying Haddie's handwork off Rachel's face. As if Haddie would commit to a prank that easy to fix. Nope. Keep dreaming. Haddie had made sure the enchantment she used would keep scourgify from cleaning it away. It had taken her the entire time to figure it out, and of course, she hadn't been fully successful with that goal, but she actually liked how it worked now. Gave them a false sense of hope. Haddie smirked as she watched Rachel's face, counted backwards from 10, silently, with her fingers. ...5...4...3...2...1 Slowly the sharpie lines faded back onto Rachel's face, until they looked exactly as they did before Esme cleaned them away. That's right. Any time anyone managed to clean it away, it'd just fade back onto her face. Haddie had pink glitter in her hair all day, so Rachel was going to have to wear this for a whole day too. Fair's fair. All the while though, Haddie's eyes kept being drawn to Tenacius. And his hair. He seemed cool, though Haddie hadn't really had the chance to talk with him. Did he have a partner yet? She could ask, but... Haddie shook her head. No, why would he want to partner with her, she was horrible at Potions. Never know unless she asks, right? Or perhaps it was Rachel the girl her own best friend had outed to have a crush on him which made things awkward. She briefly glanced at her friend as if to check if it was alright before realizing it was just partnering for a class. Tenacius had to laugh, not a mean laugh, just a this-is-such-a-hilarious-situation-because-I've-seen-this-before laugh. And he was asking about their holiday break? For this Tenacius beamed his brightest happiest grin. Claiming Yoongi! Norah smiled at Professor Newton but opted out of talking about of her holiday, considering that it'd involved much more yelling than she would've liked. Partners were THE BEST news, though, because people meant fun and also distractions and also probably assistance if she was about to blow up her cauldron. Not that she planned to or anything, but you never knew. The entire world of potions turned upside down after Culloden left, after all. It'd been months and months but the prefect still hadn't gotten used to it. The lab coats were pretty snazzy, though. Even so, this required a REALLY GOOD partner, so when Yoongi asked if anybody wanted to be partners, Norah didn't hesitate before grabbing her bag and rushing over to his seat. "Meeeeeeee me me me pick me!" Did she have to bat her eyelashes? 'Cause she WOULD. Not that she knew how to do that without looking like she'd gotten something unpleasant in her eye, but she'd try anyways if it came to that. Without waiting too long for his response, she pulled up a chair and sat down beside him. Yeah, she wouldn't be as much help in potions as Sophie Brown would've been, but she was good company ok? |

SPOILER!!: Tenacius Haddie was thrilled. Thrilled. She tilted her head a little in confusion at his nickname for her, but caught twinkles of pink in her blonde hair and suddenly it made sense. It had been weeks since Rachel pranked her, and while most of the glitter was gone, she was still finding plenty still in her hair on a daily basis. The glitter seemed to cling hardest to her hair while washing it, so they were persistent. Haddie just hoped to be entirely glitter free by the end of the year. She liked the name though. Dazzling Denaker. She smiled and set her stuff down. "Rachel's doing," she explained. "Surprisingly hard to wash out. Got most of it, but there's still enough that stubbornly refuses to wash out." Haddie glanced back at Rachel briefly as she set up her station next to Tenacius'. The shapes were just as strong as ever despite Esme trying to clean them away. "Got her back, though. Did you have a nice break?" |
Claiming Hugo So they were working with partners. Usually Janelle would be happy about that, today not so much. With Potions, she was kind of used to getting into her own groove and working alone. She wasn't sure how it would work out with a partner. Well apparently they didn't have a choice on that one. Looking around, Janelle tried to find someone who was still in need of a partner. Everyone seemed to be paired up already. "Anyone still need a partner?", she asked hopefully. Then Janelle noticed a Slytherin boy who seemed to be alone. Walking over to him, she said, "Hi, do you still need a partner?" "If so, I'm you're girl. I'm Janelle." |
Bastien probably could have gotten away with skipping this class if he were so inclined, considering how this was one of his best subjects, but skipping classes meant not getting caught by professors and trying to fill his time with some other tedious task. It was easier just to come to class. It helped that the professor was alright. He was quiet for all of the lesson so far up until it came time to pick a partner for it. No way he was going to risk loosing his awesome seat near the front, Bast would just let someone come to him. |

Everyone was still noticing her despite her best attempt to hide, weren't they? Rachel figured it was best to crawl under her workstation and was actually considering doing exactly that but then a thought popped into her head. She wasn't a coward. No, she was going to have to face this so she smiled at her fellow Housemate. "Hello, Kitty.'' The Eagle stood still and admittedly, a little apprehensive for Esme to perform the spell. She didn't feel any different but at the Hufflepuff's exclamation, she made a grab for her mirror. "They are! Thank yo-'' She broke off as the lines began to appear again. "They're back.'' She hung her head, trying to fight off the tears that stung her eyes. But at that moment, there was a voice which announced Professor Art's arrival. Rachel peeked over in his direction to find him already staring at her. She gave him a faint smile. Partners? She knew exactly whom she wanted to work with but there seemed to be no way Haddie would want that. Despite having so many friends, David was the next person she would want to partner up with. She chanced a look in his direction. Oh no! He too was already looking at her. She bit her lip again. Actually, she realised he was staring at her. The first year noticed his lips moving but because he was so far back in the classroom that she didn't have the faintest idea that he was stammering her name. Oh! Esme wanted to be her partner? Rachel decided she would like that. It looked as though David had found a partner in Olivia, anyway. On the other hand, she rarely got to have her boyfriend anymore because she had chosen a Hufflepuff. In all his Puffness, prefect duty, honor, all that jazz........he didn't say 'no, I am partnering with my girl'. Instead, her sweetheart tended to partner with anyone who asked him. Being kind was all fine and dandy, but it almost a hundred percent of the time was a bit much honestly. She didn't pout though, simply put on a welcoming smile as she surveyed her options. Maybe a guy? That seemed to tweak Henric's gears a bit when she partnered with boys. Here fishies, who wanted to play? She was very good at this subject. |

SPOILER!!: Replies Art cleared his throat and was about to speak when he realised he hadn’t washed his hands. One of the cardinal rules! He went to the basin, washed and dried his hands, and returned to his spot. “Well, uhh, t-today we are going to be working in pairs because one of you will be taking a sample of this potion,” he said, holding up a small vial of a very diluted elixir he had made just that morning, “And the other one will be brewing an antidote.” He smiled. Wasn’t this going to be fun? “The elixir is one I made. It is not harmful in any way. Well… not actually harmful. It was designed to mimic the effect of a common poison. BUT it is a very diluted mixture. So, you won’t… you won’t uhh… die.” He cleared his throat again. He didn’t mean to say that. “One of you will ingest a few drops of this, and the other will brew an antidote to common poisons!” He had thought it was a good way to ease the students back into the rhythm of classes. A nice simple potion. “You don’t need to worry about ingredients, I’ve got them all here.” He had a selection of Bezoars, standard ingredient, unicorn horns, and mistletoe berries. “When you’re ready, decide amongst yourselves which of you will be going first at brewing the potion, then when each of you have done that, we will swap!” He went to the blackboard behind him and wrote, with chalk; He looked around and, just in case other students hadn't managed to find a pair, he added "If you're still looking for a partner, just uhhh.. r-raise your hand and I can pair you up." Though history reminded him that people didn't like it when the Professor paired people up. OOC: Okay, so again, this isn’t a poison. It will just give you some mild side effects such as dizziness (please no fainting), drowsiness, slight headache, stomach ache, nausea/vomiting, coughing, sore joints, thirstiness, blurred vision, slight behavioural changes (crankiness, restlessness, irritability, or even euphoria and giggles… + any other mild behavioural changes you would like to RP), and any other MILD general side effects you would like to RP. You can have as few or as little side effects as you want to RP – I just hope you have fun with it! But nothing serious! No fainting, no dying etc. Drinkers – RP your charactes coming up and getting a sample of the elixir from Professor Newton. It will only be a teaspoon in size, and he will give it to you in a little cup. Please don’t drink it until I post again. Brewers – RP your characters coming up and getting the ingredients. My next post will be the first few steps, where we will all get started. I’ll be posting again in 24ish hours. In the mean time, you can chat amongst yourselves, deciding who will go first, expressing your concerns, or excitement etc. |

Norah~~ Noraaaaaaaaah~~ Yoongi had secretly been hoping she would partner up with him and he couldn't stop the huge smile from escaping when he saw her rushing over with her stuff. "Pick you?" he asked, pretending to think hard. "hmm i don't know..." of course he was just joking. He watched her sit down next to him without another word and he was thankful for the confidence potion he had drank earlier or else he would have turned pink a little. But he didn't this time because something else was distracting him. The moment the Professor had said that they had made partners was to poison one of them and the other brew an antidote made him look uncertainly at Norah. He didn't want to get poisoned but didn't want to brew the antidote either because it was different when brewing one for someone else. And he was afraid that with his reputation no matter the confidence potion in his stomach , that he would literally blow it up. "Are you good at potions?" he asked. |
Hady gave Professor Newton a smile as they greeted one another and told a little bit about their holiday. A new cauldron huh? That was always a nice gift especially if it was a lot better then the one you had. SPOILER!!: Brooklyn! No she was not at all excited about the whole partner thing. And she had very much considered working alone to ensure her grade would remain as good as always. Sadly that wouldn't be the case when she was joined by someone. Lifting her head at her name was enough to allow the feeling of momentary dread to ebb away some. It was Brooklyn. Thank the heavens! "Brooklyn," she greeted with a small nod of her head. Partners. The fellow snake was one of the few people she would accept right now. The girl knew how to brew a potion, never blew anything up and the two of them communicated just fine. Situation calmed. Listening to what they would be doing somewhat took Hady by surprised but she didn't show it. A poison? Really? With a slight look of indifference she turned her gaze onto the girl beside her. "Who should take it first?" It was fine by her either way since they would both be getting a turn with this. |
Madge hadn't found a partner yet, oh dear. She looked at bonnie who was sat next to her, "Shall... shall we be partners?" she asked her with a small tentative smile. "I'll even brew first if you'd like?" she offered, partially because Madge doing more of the work at first might be a good enough reason for Bonnie to be her partner, but also partially because Madge didn't really want to drink what was in that vial, at least not just yet. |
Text Cut: Marshaaaa Suri had been closely inspecting the dirt under her nails - studiously ignoring all the ridiculous firstie drama going on (aka, eavesdropping) - when Marsha had sat down next to her. It had taken the brunette a few long moments before she even realised it was Marsha and not some random redhead. Looking up, Suri stared. This person looked like Marsha and talked like Marsha but it didn't seem like Marsha at all. In all the time that Suri had known her, she'd always (well, almost) been smiley. This version of Marsha was definitely not smiley. About to ask what on earth had happened, Professor Stutterson chose that moment to start the lesson and Suri eyed him with frown. She liked Potions, so he got brownie points for that, but he had bad timing and ugly glasses. So. There. Right, so poisoning each other was the topic of the day. How fun. And they got to work in partners, which meant Marsha could stay right here and they could totally talk in between getting poisoned and stuff. Turning to her Gryffindor friend, Suri smiled. "I'm not sure what's wrong, but I think you should take this poison thing first and then you can tell me all about why you're sad while I make the antidote," genius plan right there. Suri nodded encouragingly, for effect. She definitely wanted to be the first one making the antidote. You know, just in case it didn't work. Although she really didn't want Marsha to die either, so she sent a mild glare to Newton. It better work, Stutters. |
Right... cool beans... team work. He was all for team work, yes, sure... even if he really didn't need it for potions class, like, preferred doing his own thing. Interference from other people was something he learned to do without when brewing, he got that from his dad, he guessed... the man had a way of instilling that in a person. As a consequence of his potions-lone-wolf mentality, he found himself partnerless for the time being, which was hardly conducive to the task. "I need a partner, Professor," he said raising his hand. Like... people were still pairing up, but it was hard to see who was free. He didn't care who he got stuck with, so long as they knew what they were doing. HA. Translation? He cares. |
See...the man talking to his rat is just...too much for this kid. Jace sank further in his seat as he saw the interaction...and didn't even bother to reply to the Professor's question. He had a great winter break, and it didn't involve any rodent, thank you very much. The Ravenclaw took out his pencil and parchment, and began to scribble down notes. He was too occupied with his note taking that he missed the part where he needed to partner up. As he looked up from his parchment, the boy looked confused...looked around, and realized that his classmates were pairing up already. Jace turned pink...and sheepishly raised his hand. Esmeeee <3 This was so very interesting. One of them taking the potion and the other making an antidote. Rachel looked up at Esme, already knowing what she wanted to do. But what was this potion they were to be taking? Oh no! One that mimicked a poison? Rachel stared a tad apprehensively at Professor Art. He had proven himself more than capable since his first lesson so she reasoned she could have faith in his words about it not causing serious harm. "Esme? Is it alright with you if I drink first? I don't feel very up to it to be brewing anything presently.'' The Eagle indicated to her face. She paused for a while, trying not to feel more sad about this and focus on the lesson. "I'm a little nervous about taking the potion,'' she confessed. "But it's what I want to do.'' But only if it was alright with Esme because they were partners in this. |

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" she gave an exasperated sigh and raised her arms, "I thought that it was something serious, like one of you tried selling the other to a troll or something! But a BOY? Really?" That was so stupid. Seriously? A fricken' boy! She wasn't even going to bring up the whole 'Crush on David Truebridge'-thing. That just made her slightly nauseous. Again, why were girls so damn difficult?! Why would you ruin a friendship over a guy? What ever happened to the old Muggle-Saying, sisters-before-misters? Unbelievable! Mason grabbed her bag and equipment before turning towards Azura, "Wanna be my partner? You've already been in worse situations with me (duel)," she smiled at her and linked her unoccupied arm through Azy's. "Come on, it'll be fun! Mild-Poising sounds like my kind of activity! I'll even be the first to make an antidote." She was great at Potions, so antidote making was going to be a breeze. She understood that completely, but after her talk with Hady she had promised herself she would stop being afraid to bother people. And just bother the gargles out of them anyway. Her smile got wider as Madge said she loved rat. Bullseye! She was about to answer her when the teacher entered the room and Elsa's spine went rigid with concentration, looking solemnly at the teacher. She frowned as he explained what this class would be about. She didn't fancy the idea of taking a potion or brewing one when she knew someone was in desperate -ish need for it. She turned in her seat, to look back at Madge and ask her to partner up, but saw her already talking with another girl. That's a shame, she would now have to try and find a partner and there weren't many people she knew seating nearby. She let her eyes roam the room for a minute, falling on two boys sitting not far from each other, looking like partnering up was the last thing they wanted to do. SPOILER!!: Colt SPOILER!!: Jace "Hey, you two!" she called at them under her breath, trying not to disturb much " care to be my partner one of you? I don't mind drinking the potion if necessary" she added as good measure. Surely one of them would find that an appealing offer, considering. She proceeded to put on her lab coat as she waited for their replies in order to approach the teacher's table to either collect the ingredients or take the "poison". |

Wheeee taken! SPOILER!!: Jace Elsa had just finished putting on her lab coat and was buttoning it when the younger boy - her age to be exact - answered her shyly, greeting her in a language she didn't understand. She would definitely ask about that later. She grinned happily and nearly skipped to his side "Yes! Thank you!" she told him as she neared his table happily "I'm Elsa by the way". As she looked closer, he looked unsure if he should be talking, like he was expecting the other boy to tell him to go chase Morgana in the courtyard or something. She tilted her head to the side " I'm sure he won't mind, there are still lots of people to partner with" she said reassuringly, winking at the end. There she went again, over affectionate and friendly. She hoped the boy didn't mind. He looked a bit to the shy side. "Yes you can brew the antidote, I don't mind going first with the drinking really." she confirmed as she nodded. Plus, she was a little curious to figure out what a mild-poison was. "How good are your potion brewing skills?" she asked curiously as she took a place next to him. A witch had to make sure she wouldn't end permanently ill or green, didn't she? No harm there. |
Rachel. <3 If the Professor chose to believe that Madame Curie was the one who had been called rat man, Esme was not going to correct him. She wasn't an idiot and she didn't want to get into trouble. Was it lying if you kept silent on the matter? She had no idea, and merely nodded to cover her bases because she didn't want to lie to a Professor. Next time she would be more careful and think before she spoke. Turning her attention back to Rachel, she gasped. Seriously? Did that Haddie girl have a stick up her butt or something? Talk about being melodramatic... "Errr, Rachel? I think maybe you should see a Professor about this." As she spoke she motioned to her friend's face. She had no idea how to deal with the problem now that Scourgify wasn't the answer. That had to be addressed later, however, because they were supposed to ingest poison? O_O Okay, maybe not POISON but still. She didn't really want to feel those side effects so she was more than happy when her partner stepped up to the plate, choosing to go first. Not like she had pushed Rachel to it when she was more than happy to volunteer. "Yeah, that sounds good to me! Don't worry, because I will have you cured in no time." Esme did feel a little bad for her because she would have to walk around with those drawing on her face, but if anyone chose to laugh at her for it they would get a talking to. Her independent brain was causing her to feel eager to get started on this. Teamwork where they each did their own part was most appealing to her; she really needed to work on this whole being a unit thing, but for the moment the only person she liked doing that with was Juno. Once her equipment was set up and thoroughly cleaned, she headed up front to collect all the ingredients. This had better work, rat man. |

SPOILER!!: ESME! <3 Rachel absently touched her face again. She nodded. "I'll do that after class, Esme. Or perhaps I will speak to Professor Primeaux.'' As the Charms Professor, he would be more than capable of finding a spell that would fix her face. As for now, they had an Antidote to brew and a 'poison' to consume. "I have faith in your potions skills.'' She smiled. "Alright. Let's go collect the ingredients and the potion.'' Rachel took a gentle hold of Esme's arm and followed her to Professor Art. "I'll be taking that potion, Professor and Esme will be brewing the antidote,'' she informed him, still feeling somewhat nervous. She waited, biting her lower lip, as the man measured out a tiny amount for her which she took in a small cup. "Thank you.'' Had Esme gotten her ingredients? They could go back to their workstation together if she had. |
Anyone need a partner? Austin, who was very excited about this class, looked around. He knew he couldn't continue this lesson on his own, although if he could create the antidote while under the effects of the potion, he would. A supervised classroom was definitely the way to go. But this was no time for goofing around, and he wasn't going to die tonight. Raising his hand, he called out, "Does anyone need a partner?" He didn't mind if he were the drinker or the potion maker. Both seemed fun. |
Elsa! (Getting the Ingredients) “Hello Elsa, I’m Jace.” He said giving her a small wave and a grin. The Ravenclaw isn’t used to partnering up with somebody to be honest, so the tiny kid felt awkward. Elsa’s friendliness helped though, because Jace started to feel warm again and loosened up a bit. He did blush again however, when she mentioned the older boy finding another partner in class. Jace was amazed at how quick Elsa was in terms of body language. The Ravenclaw nodded, and did a slight bow of his head toward the older Slytherin, apologizing. He didn’t want to mess up with anyone, let alone an older student. Jace nodded, and gestured Elsa to follow him to the professor’s table to get the mild poison, and the ingredients for the antidote. “I’m good enough.” He said with an air of confidence, smiling at his partner. “I think I got it from my mama. She’s a graduate of Mahoutokoro, and they’re very good at brewing Potions.” He added. The Ravenclaw got his ingredients, and waited for Elsa to get her poison. “I think the antidote we’ll be brewing is a bit of an overkill, don’t you think? The bezoar is enough to counter most poisons...let alone a mild one.” He said eyeing the ingredients. See, he’s really good at this stuff. |

She had had bad luck with partners in the past but as Mason grabbed her and asked her if she wanted to be a partner she couldn't help but smile at the other girl! "Of course! I would love to!" She said with a warm smile, the girl was right, they had been through worse things together! Though the girl paled ever so slightly as she suggested going up to get the Azura turned her purple eyes to Mase and she bit her lip a little.. Okay! Well.. "Sure.. But please don't let me die! I haven't been kissed yet." Yup! That was on her bucket list.. |
Getting the Elixir! SPOILER!!: Ava! Colt was busy looking around when he noticed the little gryffindor asking him to be her partner. He grinned and nodded. "Yeah sure, that sounds good." I mean she was decent at dueling club. This girl knew what she was doing in this school right. He wanted to take the potion so he wouldn't have to do all the work. He sat down with Ava at the table and waited for the Professor to move on. He rolled his eyes and sighed when he stuttered again. Geez what was with this guy in stuttering. You're a teacher you shouldn't be nervous. When he heard the activity was moving on, he was debating what to do. He told Ava, "I am going to get the elixir." He got up and went to the front of the room. Once he grabbed the little cup, he realized all the side effects the Professor was telling he would experience. He was not really looking forward but his strong suit wasn't really potions. Maybe Ava was? "Hopefully you won't let me suffer for too long.." he commented to her. Then he saw a girl coming towards him. He smiled politely and had to let her down, "Yeah sorry Elsa. I am already partnered with Ava.." he pointed to his partner in crime. Then he saw her partnering with the little ravenclaw dude and he didn't feel so bad. "How good are you at potions?" he asked her. |
