The crisp November air sweeps through the Muggle Studies classroom as you step inside, though it looks nothing like a classroom today. Instead you'll find yourself standing in an abandoned city lot of sorts. Overturned buckets are scattered here and there among the trash, leaves, and fallen branches that litter the ground. Broken fencing lines three of the four walls of the classroom, while the fourth appears as old red brick, some of which has been painted by graffiti. A few busted and broken tires complete the scene, making you wonder what could've happened to this place. All in all, it's quite dismal.
Moxley can be found seated on one of the larger tires, dressed in old jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Her hair has been pulled back and her trainers are worn, a clear indication that the muggle studies professor is here to work. So come on in and pull up an overturned bucket or tire, soon you'll be working too.
CLASS IS NOW OVER!
Thanks for coming!
OOC: If you jump into class from this point-forward, PRETEND your charrie has been here ALL ALONG! Otherwise you risk losing house points! Also, please be familiar with the rules!

Oh. So this had all been a trick to get them to CLEAN, huh?
Scarlett knew she should not be complaining, that it was GOOD to help out your fellow man and everything, but knowing that this was just the classroom and not an actual place in need made it...well, tedious. And also, her nails had just been done last night and now they would TOTALLY need to be redone after all this cleaning, so she was a bit crabby about that. Darn. If she'd known they'd be doing this she would have waited and not wasted her polish!
First things first - she decided to sweep up some garbage. Putting on some gloves (to try and save the nails) and grabbed a broom, she eyed a pile of crumpled up newspapers and started to push them into a larger pile with the other rubbish in the area. It was kind of sad knowing there actually WERE places that were this run down in the world...and rather than help clean, people usually just avoided the area and pretended it didn't exist. Which was not cool.

Wait, the yellow patches didn’t look nice on the boot. Jace scrunched up his nose and tried to erase the patches by pulling the paint downward with his paintbrush, giving it an odder look. Well, if Picasso’s art were priceless, Jace’s work wasn’t any different. The Ravenclaw added more yellow streaks, and alternatively added green ones on it too. Deciding that he’s already messed up his work, Jace placed the paint buckets and paint brushes back into the supply box, and waited for the boot to dry.
To make use of his time, he went over to where the Honking Daffodils were, and was a bit saddened when he saw that the good ones were already taken by the older students. Knowing that he shouldn’t judge, Jace carefully took two sad looking daffodils from the floor, and prepped it to go inside the boot. Seeing that it would take more time re-planting the boot, Jace carefully placed each of the potted daffodils into the boot instead. Once he was done, he took a clean sponge from the supply box, dipped it into a bucket of clean water...and then squeezed it to water his daffodils. Taking out his muggle pen from his pocket, he inscribed his name on the boot; Jace Reed.
Done!

Azura turned back to her little corner and looked around, wondering what she could do to make it pretty.. Hmm, perhaps paint the bricks? Yeah, that sounded good! Paint the bricks and clean the windows and flowers too?
Yeah! That sounded like a good idea!
She turned around and moved towards the supplies, where she found some white and black paint and she smiled a little, this would be perfect!!
She found some brushed and went back to her corner and got to work! First came the white paint!! Painting over bricks wasn't easy.. but it was pretty fun!! She gave them a nice good coat of white paint and stood back to admire her work.. It was getting there!
after he help the younger boy, hung the bin bags, he looked at Jessie and ask her to join him, to make a small pond or using tires as plant pot but then again before all of that he need the plants "hey, wanna help me out on this?" he smile
Now, to the daffodils! He would need it he raised his hand and waved to Professor Myers “yes.. Professor Myers, I would like to have some of those Daffodils, may i? I wanna plant it in used tires please” another smile came up to him
He felt happy, to cleans up and make things by his own hand! Never thought he would done this kinda accomplishment, he felt proud
Jessie stop picking the trash and straighten her bodies.
Of course she would help
Then she heard Raven requesting a Daffodils to professor Myers.
They will do a recycle for sure.
"It's my first time Raven. Just tell me how to change the tires into the pot. Is that difficult?"
She stepping closer to the boy and observing his way to works.

While Dima had thought that David kid's question about doing this in a real city was an excellent one, he didn't mind working in the environment Moxley had provided for them. Surely, if they did exceptional work, she could use some of the things they made and created in a real-life setting? At least, he hoped so. He wasn't planning to slack off on this activity anyway.
There was a tire no one had claimed nearby his bucket, so Dmitriy chose to focus his efforts on it. Only problem was that it's center was filled with the same junk that littered the rest of the area. Cleaning was probably first in order.
He wasn't going to enjoy that bit, though. In the real world, he'd use his WAND to clean things, did Moxley know?
Going to fetch some gloves, a bin bag, a rake, a sponge, and a water-filled bucket, the sixth year got to work. First was moving the tire, and then.... err... leaf raking? There was a bit too much trash mixed in with the foliage and twigs, but Dima's mind wasn't on separating them and recycling as usual. He'd rather rush this so he could get to the fun stuff, thanks.

Kitty was about to ask for some for herself, but Ariadne had already taken three so she decided not to.
"I'm going to take a picture of them!" Kitty declared, and she took her small magic camera (a gift from her mom) and snapped a picture. "I've never seen that kind of flower before. Do they really honk?" "It looks like most of the leaves and twigs are already picked up"Kitty observed, looking around at the room. Next they could plant the flowers and paint the fence like Ariadne wanted to. The hard part was over, now the fun began!
What was that? Oh...thank Professor Moxley? "Suuuure!" she replied. "THANKS, PROFESSOR MOXLEY!" Yes. Ariadne was very enthusiastic about her new honking daffodils! Ariadne turned back to Kitty just in time to see the girl pulling out a camera and taking a picture. "That's a cool camera!" she said. Cool, cool, cool! She nodded in reply to Kitty's question. "Yeah, they really do!" she said. To prove her point, she held up one of the plants and let it honk, honk, honk toward Kitty. This got Ariadne to laughing, which wasn't a hard thing to do. "Aren't they such fun plants?"
Ariadne took her three plants to an area alongside a piece of fence another student had repaired. "I think I'm going to line the fence with the honking daffodils!" she explained. She lined them up in a neat little row, and the sound of all of them honking together got really, really loud. Of course this made Ariadne laugh even more. "So what do you want to do next?" she asked Kitty. "I think I'm going to start painting the fence!" Ariadne left her honking daffodils behind and starting skipping off to the paint. PINK FIRST!

Once all of the surrounding trash had been not-so-neatly stuffed into a bin bag, Dima had the issue of the actual tire left. He mentally praised himself for choosing the slightly rusted bucket as a seat instead of this because... son of a garden gnome. It was rather disgusting, covered in grease and dust, and he couldn't help feeling bad for poor Muggles who were unable to use a simple Tergeo on that.
That also included feeling bad for himself right now. Poor him. RIP Dmitriy Toussaint, death by Muggle Studies.
He crouched down by the tire and got to scrubbing with his sponge and bucket of water, idly looking around. How was Bast holding up with this? Merlin knew some of his other cousins would be whining up a racket by now if they'd been doing things equating to chores. Taboo word, that was.

Olivia smiled as Professor Myers acknowledged her, the man his usually bubbly self. "Yes...I'm good," she confirmed with a nod. The Ravenclaw almost returned the favor but the man seemed to be busy with his plants, offering one to her in turn. "Sure, thank you." she said, accepting the offered pot. A honking daffodil...She seemed to remember a bunch at her gradparents home, or at least something similar.
"Certainly happy plants..." she mused with a chuckle as she looked around debating what to do with it. She could place it as is in the pot since there was no real 'ground' to plant it in in the classroom. However spotting on of the pails, Olivia claimed in and righted it. Instant decorative pot recycling something that normally has a different purpose. There! It looked nice. Claiming another daffodil, she went in search of another empty pail and placed it inside as well, moving it slightly to a better place.

This grease was never going away, it seemed, because others had plants, tire swings, and painted bricks to show for their efforts by the time Dima had even cleaned half of it off the dark rubber. Was it obvious he wasn't used to this sort of work?
He wasn't TOO horrible at it, though, and eventually the thing was shiny and almost looking brand new. Pity that had probably been a useless endeavor, anyway, because he was getting ready to cover the tire up again.
Apparently Ravenclaw senses weren't in full gear today or ever.

Tia was mostly sweeping the area she was in now rather than picking the trash up. She would pick up the trash after she had a pile of it, but it was easier to sweep it into a pile first. She did catch Professor Myers bringing flowers into the room to which she gave him a grin and wave briefly.
Taking a dustpan, the seventh year crouched down to sweep the debris into the pan to which she promptly dumped into a trash bag. There was her duty for sweeping, now time to do some scrubbing with soapy water. Grabbing a bucket with soapy water and a sponge, the seventh year set to work in scrubbing some of the tires to make them look all clean and new-ish.

He wasn't close enough to hear most of the discussion and in fact this garbage had him distracted but he DID hear Davie's shout. THEY GOT ROPE! They could make the swing! Quick as that, Blaise dropped everything he'd been sorting into the big garbage heap and hurried back to his friends.
Tire moving over to that Tenacious kid from his house--who'd already made a swing. Neat! It was kinda like a playground. Sorta like what he'd imagined when the Professor asked how he'd have felt playing here. The thing was, this place had so much raw potential that he knew something like this was possible and the boy took hold of the tire Davie needed help with.
"On three, we lift."
Fingers buried beneath the tire, Blaise took a moment to collect himself, gather his strength if you will. "One...two...THREE!"

As the last bits of garbage were put away in her bag, Esme tied it off and put it aside. There was no room for anything else and it was fortunate that she was finished because it wasn't a good thing to use more bags than necessary; that would be as wasteful as not recycling.
Speaking of recycling...
Heading over to the pile that she had collected, she picked up a few glass bottles before dropping them off where the recyclables were supposed to go. It was nice that Professor Moxley wasn't the sort to not care where her students dumped their stuff. Wonderful woman, she was. Smiling at the thought, she went back to the pile and retrieved more recyclables until they had all been placed in the bin.
Now to deal with those leaves scattered around.
Grabbing a rake, Esme got to work collecting them into a big pile by her feet.
As the Slytherin got his gloves, he walked over to the recyclable bin that was overflowing and kind of stunk. He scrunched his nose with the disgust and began to sort through it. He saw a lot of people disposed cans and now he forgot he needed some bags. Well two of them. He went back to the supply table and got two trash bags. He began to fill the first bag with soda cans because apparently this is what this town loved to drink. He saw so many that he thought he was going to need another bag just for the cans. After going through a dozen of them, he saw some plastic. "Oh bloody merlin thank you.." He said. He saw his soda can bag getting full beyond capacity. He actually walked over to throw it out.
As he deposited his soda cans in the recyclable bin and he actually felt good. He then walked over to his second bag and began to fill it up with plastic. After it was filled and his garbage can was empty, he needed to think of beautification ideas. But he saw one girl was raking leaves and he went to help her while he thought of ideas.

As Azura waited for the white paint to dry a little, she moved to grab a flower and slowly got down in the small dirt patch in her corner and started to push apart the dirt a bit so she could place her flower in it..
She had never fully repotted plants.. but now was a good time to learn right? She gently shook the flower out of it's pot and after spreading the roots a bit, she put it in the little hole she had created.
There! That was pretty.. Now how was that paint?
She stood up and touched it.. It was dry enough for what she wanted to do!
Now time to think of ideas to help make the town pretty. He began to observe others and he saw Azura. He beamed and went over to join her. "Hey Azura what are you doing? You painting with flowers?" he asked. He had no idea what she planned to do. He knew he could either plant flowers or paint stuff. He decided on painting. He went over to the supplies and began to paint the fence next to Azura. He wasn't gonna trash her artwork she was planning. He began to do strokes with the white paint and the fence was looking really good. I mean minus the fact he was getting white splattered paint on his pants. He grinned and thought should he do it? Should he not? He decided on it.
He got his paint brush in the white paint and flicked his paintbrush so he got some paint on Azura. "Gotcha.." he smirked. I think a paint war has been started. A little one to say at least.
Except...he had another idea? She looked at him curiously, and putting her hands on her hips. "'n why'd we do dat?" They'd just moved it HERE, after all.

A TIRE HE COULD UUUUUUSE. It would have been far too big for him to move by himself, but with all three of them... He patted the daffodil one more time before taking off toward the girls. Talking to Professor Myers about the flowers would have to wait. He had to stop the girls with the tire! Don't throw it awaaaaaaay!
"Whatcha gonna do with that?" he asked, skidding to a stop next to the scruffy looking one (Sam) and reaching to touch the tire. "We can put it next to the fence with the other one, if you want!"
For his plan. Yes. He nodded.
Chloe didn't want. She didn't even want to deal with this rubber hunk of stupid anymore. The blonde wanted to finish what she was assigned, get her grade and get on with her day. No magic and cleaning up was silly and she didn't want to be subjected to it any more.
But these people seemed to have other ideas. Ideas Chloe wasn't keen on taking part in. The second year wiped some hair out of her eyes and said, "You can have it if you like. Do whatever you want with it." She would not be taking part in any more of the cleaning.
Without helping anymore, the little blonde bounced off. Sam was free to join her, if she liked, she was going to maybe build a shelter. A basic one. That was what she wanted, right? Well, Chloe could do that.
But the wheel? Yeah, she was out.
The blonde started to collect tarps and blankets, the ones that weren't torn to bits, and deposited all of them in a pile while she worked. All the warmth. She was getting THAT.
Henric smiled a little when llia quietly slipped her fingers into his hand. He relaxed under her warm touch. It was comforting to know that she would be there with him no matter what. He wasn't alone. Sometimes he needed to remind himself that he wasn't a lost orphan anymore. He shouldn't continue feeling this way. But he wished the environment they were in didn't trigger memories of it. He sighed, knowing it was inevitable.
Moxley asked whether they had volunteered before. Of course...he did. Since the day he could learn how to read. His family would come and visit every chance they've got and did their best caring for the homeless community near their home. They did all sorts of things for charity. From giving food and warm clothing to organising fund-raising events. They were his reasons to be actively involved in a youth volunteering programme too. But... Henric wasn't ready to start participating now and remained silent throughout...
Finally, the got to the main activity...Henric tugged on llia's hand and smiled at her. "Partners?" He guessed he could help carry away the more heavier stuff.
Ilia listened quietly as the professor spoke. Okay so.....muggle things. Well, Henric was with her. She could follow his lead. He was honestly the only reason that she passed her Owl in this subject. Partners? "Of course." She gently tugged his hand back and smiled. "Let's get to work then right?"
Ilia walked over to the leaf debris and looked at it. Hmm.....no wand since they were in muggle studies. The rack it was then right? Was that the right word? The pole with the teeth to move plant debris and earth....yes the muggle yard object. Whatever it was called, she took one and began to take care of the natural debris.

Aaahh so that was it. He wondered if he should plant a flower then too. Man this place could use some curb appeal. He nodded and was going to walk back to the supply table to get a pot when he heard Azura's reaction and he laughed. He smirked and he started the war and he felt paint being flicked at him. "Oooohooo look at youu." he was impressed she fought back. He flicked paint back at her and was laughing. "I got you back and maybe I can try a different color and make a mural on your shirt." Now that sounded like a good idea. "Oh no no I wouldn't dream of messing up your mural.." he grinned and went to go write his initials on it. "How is that? I just wrote my inital on it. CW." he said and wrote it. Now it looked official.
He went back to go get his pot and plant. He wondered why plant he could choose. He choose a tulip and got some soil and began to do the preparations.
Rachel smiled at Spencer. "Yes, I am. I love it! The best part of it is my dorm mates. They make me feel so much at home. What about you? How do you like Gryffindor? You're not one of those that go around starting food fights, are you?'' She was coming straight to the question that bugged her.
As the duo worked, Rachel occasionally glanced over at Spencer. "You're doing a good job.'' Indeed he was. She finished paining her first bucket with a flourish and then reached for another to begin scrubbing. "That's a good question,'' she remarked, dipping her sponge into the water to begin scrubbing vigorously. "I was actually thinking that they would be great for planting something. It would be nice to recycle them.''
The words were hardly out of her mouth when she heard a honking sound. It was a rather familiar one as she spent a lot of time in Greenhouses where her parents kept them and even here at Hogwarts. "Look, Spencer! Professor Myers has honking daffodils! We can pant some of those! I'll go ask him for a few.'' Excitedly, Rachel skipped over to him.
"Hello, Professor! Can I have a few of those for Spencer and I to plant?'' Pretty please with extra pink on top?
Spencer smiled. "That's great, I'm glad that you love your house so much, Gryffindor is great I love it."said Spencer. Spencer loved how nice people in Gryffindor were, they were so nice and friendly, he made some really good friends with his fellow lions. Spencer laughed. "No I'm not, after the rain started, it gotten me sick so I hid under the table until it was over. "said Spencer honestly.
"Thanks, guess I know how to do stuff like this, I do stuff like this with my mom every summer. "said Spencer. "You're doing a good job as well, we make a pretty good team Rachel. said Spencer. "That's a good idea Rachel, I'm sure they'll make be great for planting something in."said Spencer. Spencer seen that there were a few more laying around, Rachel was right, they'll be great to plant flowers in.
Spencer followed closely behind her walking towards Professor Myers. "Hello Professor, how do you do?"Spencer asked. Spencer looked at the honking daffodils, they were quite pretty looking and will make their buckets look great.

He would maybe see about helping the kids here, but that was a big maybe. What was in it for him? They didn't have combat here, and the dueling club only had winners not captains. Bast wasn't about to help someone who he would possibly end up facing.
He let the headmistress go on about how volunteering was good, and then watched with excitement when she returned with... cleaning supplies? And paint.
Well.
He supposed this was muggling too. When was the last time he had to clean something by hand that wasn't a fighting tool or instrument? The third year bound over to the buckets of water and snatched on up for himself, spilling soapy water as he grabbed a sponge to pair it off with. It was obvious what he was going to do. Bastien was going to clean up the graffiti on the red brick wall.
Could he hum while he worked? He was going to anyway, and not give a care if it bothered anyone. He went over to a dirty part of the wall, got his sponge all lathered up and then went about scrubbing the red brick down.

He made quick work of replacing the cleaning tools and getting the good stuff— the paint. While Dima would normally have wanted every color there, he selected only white, black, and red today. He brought the paints back to his tire after choosing some of the larger brushes, pausing to observe Bastien's progress with his... wall.
Following a moment's thought, the sixteen year old lifted his now spotless tire up again, moving his camp over to where his cousin was stationed.
And then he busied himself with painting his tire white, insides and outsides and everything in between.

Jay blinked as the one girl left. Had he upset her? He bit his lip and watched her for a minute, clearly a bit distressed before he looked back at the other girl.
"Sorry..." he whispered. He hadn't meant to make her friend leave... the little boy looked around a bit helplessly, gesturing toward the other tire at the fence. "I'm... I was gonna put some of the baskets in the middle and then put daffodils... that way they look pretty but they can get taken out when it gets too cold, so they don't die..."
His mom did that with a lot of her less hardy backyard plants.

Bastien was about five seconds into his cleaning when he decided that muggles had it rough. Water dripping from the sponge down his arms, said sponge occasionally slipping from his fingers cause of all the soap he added. He was beginning to be a bit of a mess. It wasn't that he was so spoiled that he never cleaned a thing in his life, just that the tasking stuff like this was usually left for wands. The wand he was told he couldn't use. Pity that.
At least he wasn't a weakling, and could put some muscle behind his scrubbing. Even if it was just lean muscle. The humming helped, and look! He was even getting company. Not bothering to stop with his scrubbing, he tilted his head at an odd angle to see what Dima was doing. "What are you painting it white?" Was this some artistic thing he wouldn't get?

Cleaning. Good thing Dot had worn clothes she didn't mind getting dirty, rather than that whole be comfortable nonsense, because people were covered in dirt and paint already, and they'd only just started. As for Dot, she was going to find one project and make it hers.
Like this spot here. Patch of yard, covered in garbage and weeds, and no one was paying it much attention at the moment. Dot tugged on some gloves and immediately slid off her upturned bucket and onto the ground. The bucket became a trash can, and Dot collected the interesting recyclables in there. Maybe there was something she could do with... tires, bottles, and odd bits of metal. Maybe Maddie wanted to make some art work out of it?
One of those bits of metal was sharp, though, and Dot sliced the tip of her finger right through her glove. "Ouch!"
