First Floor Corridor

http://i1247.photobucket.com/albums/...ps9a48cf14.jpg

The only way to get from here to there twixt the ground and second stair.

Places of interest on your way: the Muggle Studies and History of Magic classrooms, a swamp in the middle of this corridor, and the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. Traverse this dusty floor with care!

Goblinfrog 01-11-2016 11:40 PM

The First Floor was Kitty's favorite floor of the castle, second only to the Ravenclaw tower as far as good memories went - for it contained her favorite classroom: Muggle Studies. During her first term at Hogwarts Muggle Studies had been the only subject she had been good at, so naturally it had become her favorite class.

But visiting the Muggle Studies professor was not why Kitty had come down here. It was the History of Magic teacher she had come to visit, and the reason why was because she was certain that that would be the best place to start in her quest to discover the mystery of the tapestry on the fourth floor.

Kitty froze in the Corridor and took out her hand mirror to examine herself. She was wearing dark eyeliner and lipstick, and had her usual pale face wear on the rest of her face. Her long black hair was combed, completing her Gothic image. She snapped the mirror shut and turned to walk down the corridor, but found she could not. Her legs were frozen, not by magic but by fear. Kitty had never visited a professor before, and her natural shyness was preventing her moving on. The only way to master this fear was to rehearse what she was going to say.

"Hello Professor! I'm Kitty Valentine." No, she didn't have to say her full name. "Hello Professor, I'm Kitty!" Did she really have to be so fast? "Hi Professor!" It would be better if she remembered the name, right? "Hi Professor, I was wondering if you knew..." No, she didn't want to sound like she was quizzing him.

Kitty screamed in frustration and tore at her hair. Why did she have to be so shy with grown ups???

Muggles Studies, is the subject Raven loved, he was lived and raised as muggle once before Hogwarts Letter came to him, and that is the reason he walked into the first floor with books about muggles of course. He wanted to see the Professor and discus many things about muggles. He enjoyed to talk about it with the Professor. As he coming to the corridor of the castle, he saw someone familiar, standing in front of a door, look nervous and sound like mumbling some spell???

He look at her carefully, long black hair and pale skin not forgetting the gothic look. Its her!! Kitty… kitty …something .. wait.. Raven stood and thinking hard before he approach near to her. Kitty Valentine! That’s her!
He did remember an girl named “Kitty” a third year student from Ravenclaw, who being likely very good with this subject too. Is she going to see the Professor too? He watched the girl as she was looking at herself in the mirror, he almost burst in laugh. So silly, She even talked with herself in front of a Door.

But nope, it’s seem she is going to see the Professor History of magic looking From where she is standing.

Raven walks near to her and yet she didn’t notice. A WIDE GRINS. Something came up on his mind.

He walked near, slowly tries not to make any sound.. smirk keep appears in his lips.
“Try to knock" He grins to the girl

Goblinfrog 01-13-2016 12:58 AM

"GAA!!!" Kitty gasped in surprise. She spun around to see a familiar looking Slytherin student about her own age smirking at her. She recognized him as Raven, though she did not know his last name or very much about him aside from that he was good at Muggle Studies.

And apparently good at sneaking too. "Oh hello, Raven. Where did you come from? I didn't see you." She was very glad that she never blushed and that her face was so pale, because otherwise her embarrassment would be showing very clearly right now. "I was just rehearsing what I was going to say. We Ravenclaws do that a lot." She was lying, but she didn't want to admit to her shyness. "Are you here to see the professor too?"

"sorry to surprise you" he smiled, this time a genuine smile

"I just from a library, and found interesting books about muggle invention in 1930's, i would like to discus it with the Professor" he lifted a very thick book to showed it. And seem very amused and proud with the book he found.

He stood in front of the girl and aware that she was lying, but Raven didn't want to say anything about it. He also often do clumsy thing as a respon for his shyness. And now the girl were caught in the act by someone she didn't know well.

"hmmh, you guys Ravenclaws are very organized, i admires that" he continued to talk to makes the girl calm.

"well, are you going to knock now or are you going to cast a 'bombarda' spell? and yet Raven still want to play a bit more with the girl, again.. he smirk..

"It's okay" Kitty replied in an embarrassed tone, accepting Raven's apology. "You didn't scare me or anything."

Kitty was glad when eh switched the subject by showing her the big muggle book he found. "Ooh I love muggles, don't you? Well I suppose you do since you found that book. I'm going to visit the Professor too, but after I've talked with the History of Magic professor."

"Yeah we are!" said Kitty trying not to look too relieved that Raven hadn't questioned whether she was lying about Ravenclaws always rehearsing. She wondered if he was just being subtle (in a nice way) to avoid making her feel awkward. Still, it was nice and she didn't want to keep talking about it.

"Knock? Oh right! Um...maybe in a minute." Kitty was still nervous about talking to the professor, although not as nervous as she had been when she first came here. "Do you want to go first?" In her attempt to stall she had forgotten that they were going to different teachers.

"Ha ha ha ha ha ha" Raven burst in laugh with an annoyin tone.. Dear Merlin

Just dont forget behind that clumsy act when he was nervous, or how nerd he looks when he is lingering in the library, or how swet and nice he was smilling, he is a Slytherin

He stop his annoying laugh that when you hear it you want to kick his butt.. and soon he smile, this time a sincerely smile

"Okay, i'll knock and we will see the Professor together, but.. if you didn't being comfort seeing him together, i'll leave the room soon" he gave another smile to Kitty, he really want to help the girl and calm her down for being nervous

"What's funny?" she asked, a bewildered look on her face. Kitty really hoped he was not making fun of her. She was already insecure about meeting with the Professor - and if Raven was laughing at her she felt that she might either break down crying (which would only make her feel worse later) or get so mad that she might slap him. "We can see the professor together if you want, but first I want to know why you were laughing."

Raven scratch his NOT itchy head, he smile awkwardly.. He didn’t have a heart to tell Kitty the truth that he was laughing because she was forgot, Raven is here to talk with Muggles Studies Professor, not with the History of Magic teacher.. maybe the girl missed the thick book he brought..

“well… don’t think about it too much, and I’m sorry for laughing so hard” he smiled, this time with a very sweet face, no bad intention displayed on his smile and then he turn his body facing the door

“should I’m the one that knocking the door?” Raven turn his body facing to Kitty, he look at her steadily

“don’t worry, I don’t have any bad intention, I just want to help you” he continued and another smile was thrown to Kitty, he held up the book in his chest tightly and raised his other hand.. ready to knock

James was meant to be avoiding certain people. Actually, he was meant to be avoiding a lot of people. He had a list. A very extensive list. Actually, it was starting to get easier to list the people who weren't on his list because that is how extensive his list had gotten. Anyways, he was meant to be avoiding people.

Except honestly, he hadn't the time nor the effort to want to even think about strategy at the moment. And that's how avoiding people worked, it was all strategy. And he was lazy. He'd have to enlist some help here.

So he leaned back against the wall of the corridor, with hands in pockets scoping out the passer-by-ers. Couldn't just use anyone, y'know? It was all strategy here.

Ellery, face-in-book (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, if anyone was interested), was meandering aimlessly around Hogwarts. Olly was with his friends, eulghck, and as her only two friends (Josie and Dante) were both nowhere to be found, she was going to head back to her common room. She had been reading outside, but then she got a chill and returned inside. October was the nice month, but it definitely defined the changing of seasons. Soon, it would be Halloween, which excited her. She would be going as a dodo bird, as always.

Turning the corner, she almost didn't notice him there. But there he was, professor what's-his-face, lurking. If he wasn't so dopey looking, she might think he was being suspicious. But he was kinda dopey looking, in a way.

"You looking for anyone, professor? I could help you find them. I'm VERY sneaky.

Watching the Hogwarts' hallways was an interesting thing to do with one's time. James never fancied standing around much himself, it wasn't his thing. Much too idle. Much too useless. A waste of time, honestly. But now that he was meant to find a victim recruit to help him, he didn't have much of a choice.

Unfortunately, though he would call it fortunate any other day of the week, there weren't many students lurking around. Well, except for that one with her nose in a book (which he wasn't interested in knowing the title of, by the way). And though he didn't care, he decided he wouldn't bother her. She was tiny anyways, most likely useless. Most likely annoying first year. He knew the type. The whole lot of them were some how magnetically drawn to James' office. He hadn't formally met this one yet.

Which is why he wasn't expecting that she would stop reading to come bother talk to him. He was planning on dismissing her the moment she opened her mouth to speak, however, what she had to say was exactly what he needed. Maybe she wouldn't be useless after all. Any of these thoughts were 100% hidden from his face as he kept his confident smug smile, as always. A permanent fixture to his facial features. "Matter of fact, I am," he nodded. Looking for someone. He was looking for a lot of someones. ".... But I don't think you will be sneaky enough," he said, looking away. Disinterested. Come on kid, defend your honor. It's a test.

Ellery eyed professor-what's-his-name again. She hadn't really seen him much at the opening feast, but she HAD noticed awkwardness between him and another professor, the…transfiguration one? She had noticed and noted, but she wasn't quite sure she was in a safe enough position to comment on it, so she decided to talk around it and see if she struck a chord.

"Anovver professor?" WHAT JUST HAPPENED. Words just came out of her mouth in a thoroughly Cockney accent and Ellery blushed deep red to the roots of her ever-plaited hair. Merlin, pull yourself together, Ells. "I mean…are you looking for a student, or a professor, professor?"

Her marbles were full of mouth today, a la Jerry.

Disappointed that his attempt at a test had been ignored, James adjusted his collar to hide any surprise he had over the fact that she was spot on. Was she that quick? Or was he that obvious? The former. It was the former because though he wasn't one to give out compliments, he certainly hadn't done anything wrong here. A lucky guess.

He watched the small girl carefully, noting her blush but dismissing it. Whatever was on her mind was of no interest to James. He was here to find a recruit, didn't have time to pick apart the thoughts and wishes of little girls. "Another Professor," he nodded simply.

Not just one. More like five.

But details.

"Think you can handle being a lookout, kid?" It was a rather serious job, after all.

Ellery had struck a nerve, and she could tell. The thing was…she was treading on sensitive territory. She didn't want to go to detention - she had come close enough last year, and besides, she had no idea how harsh this guy thought he could get away with being. What had she turned into, though? A coward?

"You're blushing," she said helpfully, pointing at his face. He wasn't really blushing, or if so, only a tad, but she wanted him to know she was observant. Furthermore, it was scientifically proven saying someone is blushing will make them blush. She tried that out on Olly ALL the time.

"Which one?" she asked innocently, batting her eyelashes. "Hirsch? To be honest, he's the only new one I know the name of." Please don't notice she didn't say other because…she still couldn't remember this professor's name. She was drawing a complete blank. AAHH.

"Duh." She pretended to put spy sunglasses on. 007.

"Professor, i'm De Jarjayes and Valentine, can we come in?" Raven ask permission before he open the door, he tried to knock once again

After few times knocking and didn't have the answer he wanted, he turn his sight to Kitty

"No answer, still coming in?"

He wasn't and he knew it. James didn't blush. It wasn't built into his genetic code to show emotions. Maybe he was the outlier here because the comment didn't even get a rise out of him. In response all he did was raise his brows at the small child, "Haven't your parents told you it's rude to point?" He eyed her finger. Was he changing the subject? Yes.

And in other words he was not about to list all five Professors that he didn’t want to see. This kind of information would be all too valuable in the hands of a little kid like her. So he ignored her question. ”You should work on that,” he was referring to the names. These ‘new Professors’ will be here all year, after all. Important to know them. Especially James’.

….. Right.

”Well then Miss Bond,” she brought it upon herself, really. ”First mission is to check around the corner for any oncoming passerbyers.” She did say she could handle it, yes?

So Ellery underestimated this guy. The blushing part didn't work, and Ellery's cheeks turned traitorously pink. "My daddies think that pointing signals curiously, but whatever, professor. Sorry and all that." She resisted sticking her tongue out at him, but just barely.

"I'm usually good at names. I guess I just haven't been paying too much attention. I've been kind of…preoccupied." With what, you ask? Working through the full works of Charles Dickens, that's what. And moving through them rather quickly, as well. "I'm Ellery, by the way. Ellery Gwenog Borzekowski-Thomas. In case you forgot mine." Ease off the passive aggressiveness, Ells.

But then he called her Miss Bond, and her cheeks betrayed her once more. They were burning, oh dear Merlin. "I can do that. Easy peasy." She slid against the wall and peeked around the corner. "No one there, sir."

Ah, who was blushing now? Still not James. It was the kid now of course. He had half a mind to point it out as she had tried to do before, but he decided against it because he would be decent for once. And he had already shut her down quite a few times in the past minute, so... Another may be much. Even he could put that much together. Apology sort of accepted. Eh. No further comment.

Again, he didn't ask what she was preoccupied with because that information wouldn't be relevant to him, most likely. What did children like to preoccupy themselves with anyways? Nothing useful, he was sure. "Well Miss--" er. "Ellery," the surname name seemed to be much more trouble than it was worth. And no, he hadn't forgotten. He had chosen not to remember. There was a difference. "Professor Draper, you best remember this one," he winked though being all-too-serious. If there was one new Professor she ought to know the name of, it was his.

Or maybe he was biased.

No. His was definitely the most important one.

"Excellent," his smug grin stayed in place as he took a few steps in the forward direction, before pausing to turn around to address this Cellery girl once more. "Cellery, what do you plan to do with the rest of your day?" Maybe he could coerce her into an extended mission. Heh.

He had half a mind to point it out as she had tried to do before, but he decided against it because he would be decent for once. And he had already shut her down quite a few times in the past minute, so... Another may be much. Even he could put that much together. Apology sort of accepted. Eh. No further comment.

Ellery regained her natural skin color just as the professor re-introduced himself. "Okay, Professor Draper." She would try not to forget that name. But that thought immediately caused Les Mis to be stuck in her head, so she shook her shoulders and tried not to hum aloud.

Did he just call her celery????

"Uhh…I'm already done with homework, so…I'm free??? Until the END of the DAY at least." Merlin. The Les Mis escaped.

Yes, yes he did just call her celery.

"Excellent," honestly had there been more students to draw from, he probably would've chosen a taller one. One from the yellow house, maybe? They didn't question things. And definitely a boy. They were more useful. But a beggar can't be a chooser, so alas. He had the 'Cellery' child.

"Let's walk," he nodded her forward.

See, she was about to serve as his excuse without even knowing it. Perfectly executed, honestly.

Jojogali/Elsa

Azura was just now starting to breathe a little easier regarding the creepy doll incident, she hadn't seen it since, which she wasn't sure was a good thing, or a bad thing, but.. whatever it was.. at least she wasn't scared to walk around corridors any more!

And her birthday was soon! She couldn't wait to be 12! She was going to be so grown up!

Her black hair swung around her shoulders as she walked and her bright purple eyes looked around, making sure there was no doll as wall as nothing for her to trip over..

So far, today was a good day!

Elsa was smiling happily when she climbed the stairs to the first floor. She had just been in her common room, where she met Hady and Hagan-the-cat. Gawd she loved cats. It wasn't a coincidence her friends back at Portugal called her Future-Cat-Lady, an allusion to a muggle tv show they all enjoyed watching.

She giggled softly and covered her mouth with her hand, not paying much attention to her surroundings. Her elbow hit something, rather someone, and she hurriedly spin around to apologize. "I'm so sorry" she said with embarrassment, locking eyes with another first year - she hoped. She smiled apologetically at the purple eyed girl. What an odd eye color, she thought to herself. But she also had really green eyes, like, weird green, so who was she to pass judgment ?

"I wasn't paying much attention to where I was going. Did I hurt you? I'm Elsa by the way!" she said really fast, fussing around the girl she had just hit, making sure there were no bones sticking out.

She could vividly remember when her mum had enchanted her junior broom to float a little higher and go a little faster than normal and she hit her father's tool shack with her arm in an odd angle and all hell broke loose. Poor daddy, he didn't know what to do once the broom "ejected" me and went full throttle into the skies.

Azura was thinking a bit about Torie, when suddenly an Elbow hit her and knocked her off balance! She went crashing into the wall, and thankfully! Only hit her arm! YAY No more nose breaks today! HA!

She pushed herself up off the wall and smiled warmly at the other girl as she apologized, "It's all right, really!" After all, how many of her friends had she met by falling into them, or in front of them? Plenty! Torie had bumped into her several times.. and now..

Well.. Hmm anyways! Azura straightened out her robes and made sure she was all right! No broken bones, nothing hurt! YES!!!

"I'm really am totally all right! No worries okay?" Azura said as she looked at the younger girl.. "It's nice to meet you Elsa, I'm Azura Kennedy." She said with a warm smile as she held her perfectly fine hand out for the other girl to shake. "I do more damage to myself usually, tripping over things, so a little knock into the wall is nothing really." She explained with a nod, as she pushed her black hair behind her shoulder. She probably shouldn't mention the five nose breaks..
