Torches light the way allowing you to see the many portraits of Slytherin alumni lining the walls. You'll want to be careful what you say or do here as these portraits aren't here just for the decor. There is a dorm room for each year of the house. Students, you will find many four poster beds, all draped with green curtains. Be sure to stake your claim on the bed you want before someone else gets to it first. Be aware, this Dorm is for Slytherin GIRLS ONLY. Each room has a charm placed on it that will alert Healer Murdoch should any boys TRY to enter these rooms. Consider this your warning. Any boys caught trying to get in here WILL face the wrath of Healer Murdoch. |
FINALLY! The feast was over and she kept her word about giving a younger snake assistance with adding colored streaks into his hair. That was it she was done. Sleep was what she wanted and what she was aiming for as she walked deeper into the dorm room. A quick sweep over the room showed she was the only one here and no one else seemed to claim their beds yet. Perfect. Making her way over to the other side of the room furthest from the door she sat down on the bed near the wall. Exhaling deeply she let herself fall backwards on the bed, her legs dangling down over the side and her arm over her face covering her eyes. Just a few moments of peach and quiet was all she wanted before the other girls arrived. Hopefully this year they'd all get along. Hagan padded over from somewhere in the room and leaped up on the bed to plop himself down at her side curling up there. A nudge of his head against her free arm earned the cat what he wanted, a nice ear rubbing. For now the brunette and her furry companion were both content with things. |
*too lazy to quote* hi Hady :3 Maggie had definitely been enjoying herself at the feast. Which didn't mean that she wasn't looking forward to getting back to her dorm. Her dorm. It would be weird coming back here. Especially after spending a whole month in her grandparents' house. Her room there was probably the size of the the whole fourth year girls dorm here. Nonetheless, it was part of the whole Hogwarts experience and Maggie had grown to kinda like it. Sharing a dorm with other girls her age did have its perks. Occasionally. Pushing the door open, Maggie looked around for her bed. Once she'd spotted her things she moved towards them, only now noticing that she wasn't the first to arrive. Hady had beat her to it. "Hey." She acknowledged her, even offering a small smile. "Maybe this term it'll be just us." Unlikely, but hey she could dream. Sitting down on the bed next to the other girl's she took off her shoes before pulling her feet up. |
SPOILER!!: Maggie And the silence was broken. Hady could hear the other girls footsteps as she entered the dorm only she didn't open her eyes to check which girl it was. At least not until the footsteps grew closer and she heard a voice. Cracking open one of her eyes she turned her head just enough to be greeted with the sight of none of then Maggie taking the bed beside her own. "Hey," she greeted simply with a small nod of her head. About to close her eyes once more Maggie continued to talk to her. What were the chances it'd be just the two of them in the dorm? Slim to none that was for sure since Brooklyn was at the feast. "Probably not. It might just be you, Brooklyn and I though," she replied rolling onto her side and propping her head up onto her elbow facing the other girls bed. "Have a nice summer?" Yeah might as well ask her how her summer was. Small talk and all that you know. |
The fifth year girls' dorm was currently empty, and Dot got lonely almost immediately after putting on her pajamas and unpacking the rest of her clothes from her trunk. It was short work, and she wasn't ready for bed. She was ready for socializing, however, and there were two certain little misses that needed a visit in the fourth year dorm. Lucky day... those two were exactly who was currently IN the fourth year dorm. Dot hovered for a moment in the door before deciding that she was allowed in the room, even if she wasn't wearing her badge pinned to her robe. She'd just hang out near Hady's trunk in case Maggie felt like hitting people again. "All settled? D'you need anything? Not like... I'm gonna come tuck you in every night or anything because that would be dead annoying, but just... hi. D'you?" |
SPOILER!!: Dot Having chosen the bed at the other side of the room and laying on her side as well was a good idea. Hady had a view of the entire dorm room as well as the door allowing her to see anyone that came into the room or left. This would probably serve as a good thing as the year went on. So when Dot walked in the fourth year knew instantly and sent her a small grin. Was she all settled? Not exactly yet but enough to sleep the night away. The next part of her friends question though made her smirk a little bit. "Uh, nope I don't think so. Don't think I need to be tucked in either," Hady replied shaking her head and trying not to laugh. She hadn't been tucked in since she was around four. Not by anyone. Unless her cat Hagan jumping up on the bed and sleeping beside her since the day she got him before her first year counted for anything but she was sure it didn't. Hady glanced from Dot to Maggie for a brief moment. Did she need anything? |
Just the two of them and Brooklyn. Hmm. Maggie sighed softly. "We'll see I guess." She hadn't seen Jenna at the feast so yes maybe Hady was right. Maybe they'd get new people though. Which was probably worse than it being the same girls as last year. While she had started to like this dorm thing, new girls would only add to the drama that was already sort of going on. So no. Drama yes, but not in her dorm. "I did! I went to L.A. for most of August." She nodded, beaming at the other girl happily. That had been such an enjoyable time. It had made it very tempting to just stay there. But no. She did want to come back here. As unexpected as it was, this has become her home now. And she liked it. "Yours? How was yours?" Before Hady had gotten a chance to reply however they were joined by.....luckily NOT one of their dormmates. But Dot. Dot who was being nice to her again. "Hi." Lol what? Tucking in? And she was seriously asking them if they needed anything? "Is that part of your Prefect duties?" Being their personal house elf. |
And see they shall. Sooner or later their dorm mates would have to enter the dorm abling them to see who else they would be living with this year. If it was just them two and Brooklyn she'd be just fine with that. All Hady could really do then was nod her head in a agreement. L.A. for almost a month? Maggie had gone to L.A. That sounded pretty cool. Surely the blone had done something interesting while she had been there, right? "A long family vacation or did you go to visit someone?" That's usually why people went somewhere and stayed longer then a week or so right? When they were visiting family or friends. There wasn't much to say about her summer honestly. Well at least nothing she'd openly tell Maggie right now. Maybe if they became a little closer as friend's or something but sorry Maggie she wasn't getting into that tonight. Before she was able to get a word in Dot was there and such. Looking from Dot to Maggie and back again Hady wasn't sure if she should laugh or not. If checking on the younger ones and making sure they didn't need things and tucking people in were a part of prefect duties then she never wanted to be one. She was just fine doing her own thing. No help needed right now. Pushing a lock of hair off her face she gave the older girl a light smile, it was nice of her to come say hello though. |
See? Now it was all weird. Dot had gone out of her way to point out that she was NOT here to tuck them in, but by mentioning it, all they could think about was being tucked in. Or about her being a house elf, which was worse. She was meant to be helpful, not their servant. Maybe if she bossed them a bit...? "My prefect duties are about making sure everyone has the best opportunity to learn they can, but not about bed times. Well, not specifically. I'd probably throw everyone out of the common room if they were up to late or something. But not tucking them in. And I won't pick up your socks, but we could talk about feng shui if you feel like your room isn't properly aligning your chi." Dot bounced on the balls of her feet. Maybe she should just... go? Maggie was obviously making fun of her. |
So far so good. So far it was only them. Nodding enthusiastically, Maggie grinned. "I went back to stay with my grandparents." With whom she's finally reconciled. She hadn't seen her daddy though. Somehow she was starting to think she never would again. At least her grandparents seemed to want her around again. They'd already invited her to stay with them again as soon as she could. They hadn't even minded we having people over. "Dante came to visit too." She gestured into the general direction of where they boys dorms were. Mhm. And Kaycee too but she wasn't sure if Hady knew the Gryffindor. Back to Dot though. Dot the Prefect. "And you'd still look gorgeous doing that." Maggie interjected when the other girl announced that she might kick people out of the Common Room. They were back to being....friends right? Right? Maggie still wasn't entirely sure but had decided to just go with it. The feng shui thing earned the Prefect a small giggle. Maggie did look around the room for real though, wondering about whether or not they should move some of the furniture. Hmm. "You should come live with us." Maggie's eyes were back on Dot now. It would be cool to have a Prefect living with them. Heh. |
Moving to sit up she scooted herself back against the headboard on her bed. After fixing her pillow first of course. There much better. Now she could see both Maggie and Dot without having to constantly look back and forth. However the very moment she moved Hagan opened his eyes and got to his paws padding himself up further onto the bed and demanded a petting. Laughing quietly she rubbed the cats ears while listening to Maggie speak. So she went to visit her grandparents. That was cool. "That's nice that you get to spend time with them."A lot of people didn't get a chance to do that for whatever the reason. And Dante had went too? Like their fellow Slytherin Dante? "Oh, you two are kinda close then, hm?" Like really good friends or something? Hady wasn't even sure what all she'd meant with that. What was this about bedtimes and feng shui? Trying not to appear confused by any of this she slowly nodded her head. "Uh well I know nothing about the whole feug shui stuff but uh I think my part of the room is okay..." With that Hady looked around the room or well her area to find it clean. Mainly because she hadn't really done much with her side just yet. Not that there was all that much she would be doing anyhow. |
Marisol bounced into the dormitory full of energy. After giving the room a mere glance, she chose a bed in the corner. Her four-poster bed was just as she'd left it the last year, except a lot more clean. That would change quickly. She dragged her trunk over to the foot of the bed, and it landed with a satisfied thunk, creating a puff of dust. Mari coughed. Everything at Hogwarts was so old! Finally looking at what was actually going on, the Slytherin saw three other girls. Two fourth years and one fellow fifth year. Mari didn't know any of them very well, but she was still feeling friendly. She nodded towards Dot, Hady....Maggie, right? "Hi," she greeted them awkwardly. |
Gorgeous, huh? That was pushing it a bit toooooo far, there, Maggie, and Dot gave her a straight-down-the-nose prefect look. "You shouldn't have hit me." That was all. Just... it wasn't right and it bothered her and now she was over it and they could move on. Also, no more fake compliments because those were the worst. "Anyway, I can't live with you because I'm a fifth year and they're stodgy about rules, but I can visit and braid your hair. Plus I have a thousand shades of nail polish... or a bunch, at least, so we can play around with those too." Dot was supposed to braid Hady's hair, anyway, so she gestured for the girl to turn her head. "I don't really know anything about feng shui." She started to explain that it was just a joke, but then Dot's roommate showed up. Her for real, fellow fifth year roommate. "Hi! I think Maggie is about to tell us secrets about Dante. Do you have snacks?" |
Marisol blinked at the girl named Dot and shrugged. "There's some stuff from the train." She reached into the depths of her pocket and pulled out a handful of Chocolate Frogs and a bag of chips. The Chocolate Frog wrappers were a bit crumpled, but the frogs themselves were in an okay condition. Mari had forgotten they were there. Now she was really glad that she'd remembered before the chocolate had melted and ruined her pockets. The fifth year tossed her loot onto the floor where the three other girls were sitting, and she sat down. |
When someone else walked into the dorm her hazel eyes instantly went that way. A girl a bit older then them that Hady didn't really know well at all. "Hello," she greeted simply with a slight nod of her head aimed at Marisol. As the girl joined them her attention flickered back to Maggie wondering if she'd tell them anything else about her vacation or Dante. If she did that was fine and if she didn't that was fine too. Either way Hady wasn't fussed about it much. Switching the topic over to hair, nails and snacks caused her to take a moments pause. Snacks. Yes she had snacks. She ALWAYS had snacks. Now did she go about sharing what she had often, not really. Though this time it would be okay. Silently crawling around Hagan and slipping off her bed Hady knelt beside her truck opening it. Shifting through it a moment she finally pulled out a bag and returned to her bed dumping the contents onto the blanket. "Eat what you want just so it's nothing cherry flavored...I save those for a friend." Anything else they wanted whether it be muggle or wizarding candy was fair game. Sitting back down on her bed she spun around so her back was to Dot. "Go ahead and have fun then just no color changing." Hady glanced over her shoulder and gave her friend a playful smirk. Whatever Dot did with her hair could be fixed if it turned out really bad which she doubted would happen. She liked the color it was now though and the streaks. The streaks stayed. |
You three hi. :3 Yes, it WAS pretty cool that she could spend time with them. Hady didn't even know just HOW cool it was. "They got this really big house and a pool." Maggie grinned. Not bragging, you know. Just...saying. Sharing. They were all about sharing tonight, no? Yes. Definitely. Oh oops. No offense, Dot. Maggie had the decency to look a liiiiittle bit sheepish when the Prefect gave her a LOOK. And, yeah, that. The slap. At last it was being mentioned. "You shouldn't have patted my head." She argued, her tone friendly though since they were, you know, TALKING about stuff and being friends again. "Also....troll blood? Like, seriously?" That had been a low blow. Her eyes flicked over to yet another girl entering the dorm. One who, she was pretty sure, was NOT in their year. Something with M. Ms were cool. Usually. Actually no. Just Maggie was cool. "...hey." Did she know she was in the wrong dorm? Maggie eyed her for a moment but since the other two seemed to be welcoming her, she just shrugged a little. Maggie didn't take any of the offered snacks because a) she didn't do sweets and b) they. were. on. the. floor. Like why?? That was just dumb. And not the cherry-flavored ones? She gave Hady a curious look but then Dot decided to put her on the spot about Dante. Like ?? "We're pretty close, yes." There was a hint of a smirk on her lips and she just watched them all with her head slightly tilted to the side. "That's it." Secrets though? "What do you think about him, Hady?" For....reasons. |
A big house and a pool. Those were something to be happy about usually. At least the pool part when it was summer time. Hady grinned a little in return to Maggie's grin. "Having a pool is always good. We don't have one but maybe when we move this coming holiday the new house will have one." By we she had meant her and her father but these girls didn't know that. No one did besides Zeke. Hady didn't say anything about Marisol being in their dorm as she just figured the girl was Dot's friend or maybe just being friendly. No harm done. Yet. Reaching a hand out to where she had dumped her candy on her bed she fished about for a green jolly rancher and opened it popping the candy into her mouth while trying not to laugh at the look Maggie had given her. She wasn't asked so she wouldn't say. There was a smirk on Maggie's face as she said her and Dante were close. That could be taken many ways but if she wasn't saying then Hady was asking. "About who, Dante? I don't really know him all that well but the time or two I did speak with him (outside of classes and for more then a hello) he seemed...nice." Was that the word she wanted to use? Nice. It seemed so...so boring. What could she say though she didn't exactly know him all that good. And what was with that smirk Maggie? |
New house, huh? Wow. Maybe she should make more of an effort to be friends with Hady so she'd invite her over next summer. Hmm. Sounded like a pretty good plan no? For now, Maggie just smiled though. "Oh. Cool. Where are you moving to?" Hopefully somewhere in England where she could get her mother to drive her. Those magical ways of transportation were quite confusing and she couldn't exactly ask Oleander for help again. There was literally nothing behind the smirk apart from the fact that she enjoyed the attention. But the other girls didn't need to know that. Running her fingers through her hair, Maggie watched Hady curiously. "Nice...?" Well that was not a very good assessment of Dante. That was boring. "That's it?" |
The moment she mentioned she was going to be moving she felt like she shouldn't have said it. It wasn't that she didn't want anyone to know she was moving because that in itself wasn't a big deal she just didn't want all the questions that came along with it. So when she was asked 'where' she was moving to all she could do was shrug her shoulder as she looked at Maggie. "As of yet I have no idea. Places are being talking about and looked at but nothings final right now." Which meant if she figured out where she wanted to live soon then maybe she could talk her father into checking homes out there. Hady kept a calm fixed look on Maggie as she was asked about Dante. Why she was being asked about him she really didn't even know. And it was clear right away that the blonde wasn't all to thrilled with the answer she'd given but really what could she expect she'd only spoken to him once or twice. Unless... Hady inwardly cringed at the thought, Maggie had probably wanted her to say he was cute or good looking or something along those lines. Well she wouldn't. Not today. Not now. Just wasn't happening. Sorry. "Yeah, nice. What should I say about him when I hardly know him?" Nothing that's what. Nothing that would get her put into an awkward position. |
"Have some candy, Marisol," Dot gestured to the stash that Hady had pulled out of... somewhere, even though it wasn't her candy and it wasn't her room. Just trying to make the visitor feel welcome, y'know? Marisol was Dot's roommate, so they needed to get along. She gave Hady's hair a little tug but didn't comment on not changing the color. That wasn't part of the deal, and Dot didn't know any hair-color changing charms. She was actually quite fond of her fiery locks and hadn't ever wanted to change them. Freckles, on the other hand, could just GO. "Dante isn't nice. I mean he's jolly, but he isn't nice. It's a clever sort of cage to keep all the background stuff safe." Not that she had any experience with that. Nope. Dot was 100% as nice as she seemed. Maggie, though, was 100% confusing. Like... what was this about troll blood? And why did she care what they thought of Dante? The point was what SHE thought of him. "What about troll blood? What are you talking about?" |
Marisol took the candy from Dot. She would always take candy. It was a little weird since it wasn't even Dot's to offer in the first place, but the newcomer appreciated the gesture. She took a green-apple-flavoured lolly. She sucked on it quietly, listening to the others talk about that guy named Dante. Marisol didn't mind just listening. |
Observering the other girls quietly for a few moments Hady found herself with nothing more to say just yet. She knew Dot wouldn't do anything bad to her hair so she simply sat there and let the older girl get started with the braid or whatever it was she was going to do. Hady was in her own little bubble for a few moments as she thought about possible places she might want to live. However when she heard Dot sat Dante wasn't nice and something about keeping his background safe she couldn't help but tilt her head slightly at Maggie. Surely Maggie thought the boy was nice otherwise she wouldn't be friends with him. Made sense to her. Everyone had their own opinions on people. |
