SPOILER!!: tic tac toe Buuut that didn't mean she wasn't going to try. Olympia grinned as she pushed the parchment back towards Ava. "Oh, so is she Russian?" She asked. Olympia could hear no trace of a Russian accent when Ava spoke, so perhaps not or maybe it just hadn't rubbed off on her. "Yeah, a lot of my family came here to.." Olympia was aware that some of her family had also graduated in places like America and she also had an Uncle that had undergone his Auror training in Australia. Her Father's side of the family had always been big travellers, and were rarely at home. Deciding to steer the subject away from their families, Olympia asked a different questions. "Did you bring any pets with you?" |
Aha! There was finallllllly a pattern of Is together! This was a no brainer for his next move. "Not going to get a win so easily, Benny,'' he said cheerfully and graciously smacked a great big X in the square on the far right to block a next O from going there. Sure, he did care about loosing to his friend but that didn't mean he wasn't going down without a fight. Hehe. 'Alright! Your turn again!" |
Boo. Adi had caught his lead and moved to stop his future win. Not that it was that hard and it was just a friendly game. "Aww shucks," he mused with a shake of his head. "You got me." Now where was he going next? That was the question of the game it seemed to him. With his threesome cut-off, the Gryffindor opted for the corner spot on the right side that blocked two of his friend's x's. SPOILER!!: Game |
Adi grinned. Of course he got Benny. Just as Benny would have gotten him. "I think there's a way to cheat this game," he told his friend. "I think. I'm not sure." By cheating, he meant that there was a way to ensure there was a winner at least most of the times. He now watched Benny have another go at the game. The Hufflepuff winked. "I bet you know where I'm going to play next, right?" Adi picked up his quill again and made an X in the first square on the left. "And now I can predict where you will play." Hehe. It seemed as though there would be no winner for this game. But that's how a lot of them turned out, right? |

He blinked, staring at the parchment and then up at the boy who had asked to join him. Daxton recognised him of course. Blaise Bellaire, with whom he had conspired in Defence Against the Dark Arts to turn out the lights and throw the broom closet full of people into darkness. The Gryffindor boy got a moment of shrewd consideration, before Daxton put pen to parchment again and drew in his next move, a means of silent consent. Quote:

SPOILER!!: tic tac toe "Yeah, my mom is Russian. My older siblings were born there too, but I was born here." So she didn't really know about the Russian heritage that her mother inherited. She did being tutored the language but she gave up because it's so difficult. The only Russian family that she'd ever saw was her cousin Sophia. Nothing else. The young lioness had never been there too. So... she couldn't say that herself is Half-Russian even her mother was Russian. "I have Preston, my cat." She smiled. Ava just loves any kind of animals. "Too bad that school doesn't allow me to bring corn snake or iguana. Well, my mom also said that I'm too young to have reptiles as my pet." She pouted. Well, her mom often disagreed about everything that she thought or say. Dunno why. "How about you? And what's your favorite place to hang out around here?" |

Paulina was relieved that it didn't matter if she sucked at Arithmancy. It was just a warning because she thought maybe her and Hady could work together through the whole lesson. They could both such at Arithmancy together! Might even be fun, because she wasn't stressing over the subject. As long as she didn't get a failing grade she was cool beans. "Go ahead and be the X. I don't mind in the slightest." Xs and Os were all the same in her book. She watched as Hady put the first X on the board. "I'm rather liking Hogwarts, but I don't get some of the class rules. Are they always like that?" At least the Arithmancy Professor was one of the few who didn't have them doing anything weird. After staring at the game board for a moment, she added her contribution: Quote:

SPOILER!!: tic tac toe Impatiently, Olympia put her quill down. Seriously, how long did they have to play this for?? She nodded her head as Ava talked about her Mother and siblings. Ohh, but she had a cat. "I've got a cat to! Bella." Olympia also smiled. She laughed at Ava's expression. "You want a snake as a pet??" She found this odd, not that she had anything against snakes but Olympia was unsure of what they actually did. They were quite pretty though. Nice to look at. Hm, that was a tricky question. The third year shrugged. "I don't really have a favourite place.." She answered truthfully. "I'm enjoying these camp things the Headmaster's insisting on doing though. I like being busy.." Olympia smiled at Ava again. "What about you?" |
SPOILER!!: Paulina Hady grinned at Paulina. Knowing older people was always good in her book. So working together during a class she wasn't great at with an older friend was fine by her. Rules. Yeah some of these new rules were a bit odd she had to admit. "No, not usually. This year they seem to be the strangest. Maybe it's to get everyone to lighten up a little or something. I'm not entirely sure," Hady shrugged but also laughed quietly. Most of the rules as silly as they were weren't all that bad. Watching the older girl make her move using an 'O' Hady then added her 'X' onto the board. Quote:

PAULINA DIDN'T KNOW. As Hady added another X to the board, Paulina wrote down an O: Quote:

SPOILER!!: Adi Benny wasn't sure what Adi was meaning about a way to cheat the game. It didn't seem like either of them was going to win this time around, especially as the badger made a move to block his next chance of winning. They apparently knew each other too well to not anticipate what was coming, or not to notice the patterns that the other was making enough to have their friend be able to get a win past the other. And yes...his own option was rather clear. Even without Adi drawing attention to it. He meerly moved his quill to the upper right-hand corner of the board and wrote out the 'o' he was putting there to stop his friend's line of x's. "So I guess its a draw then?" Was there ever a real winner in this game? SPOILER!!: Game |
SPOILER!!: sophie brown pls He waited for Sophie to take her turn, hoping that she wouldn't block his three in a row-- But of course she caught it, so siiiiigh. Not that he was really paying any attention to the game anymore, anyways. Waiting until she was done, he politely took the quill from her hand and didn't nab it away UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE COUGH SOPHIE BROWN. Hm. Where to go? He had almost missed her top row, choosing to go for the bottom right corner... But before his quill hit the parchment WAIT. Aheeeeeem. There. That's where he meant to go from the very start. Quote:
|
SPOILER!!: Benny! <3 There was just one grid left now and obviously Adi moved to fill it with an X. "Ding! Ding! Ding! We have NO winner,'' he announced. "A draw sounds about right.'' He lowered his voice now to whisper something only Benny could hear. "This game sucks. I never liked it.'' He hoped whatever Tanner had planned next would be much more interesting. He moved on to set up another grid. "I reckon we still have some time left to play. You go first now and you can have Xs if you like.'' Wasn't he the ever considerate bestie? Haha. |
Text Cut: hehehehehehe Why was Zander looking at her like that? Sophie had hardly done ANYTHING AT ALL. Grinning angelically, she batted her eyes at him and replied breezily, "I have no idea what you're talking about." No idea AT ALL. This game of tic-tac-toe was quite simple, really, and... there was no way anyone was going to win this, she could see it already. She was going to block his chance at a three-in-a-row now, then he would end up trying for the middle row, and she would block that... and it was going to end in a stalemate. Better that way, really. Then they BOTH won. Quote:
|
SPOILER!!: O Zander gave her a look as if to say 'YEAH, RIGHT'. Soph pls. She was like that sarcastic angel emoji personified. Zander Adair did not approve, for the record. Nooope. Even if he couldn't get the 'I'm not actually happy' look to translate properly. He was too busy being his goofy self, unfortunately. Sigh. Luckily the red in his face had managed to even out by now though. So that was the one good thing. Heh. The other good thing was that he wasn't going to lose. Except... He wasn't going to win either? Eh. He shrugged at Sophie as if the game even got heated in the first place 'cause really it didn't... Which was strange considering the fact that the two of them managed to get very competitive when working with or against each other. "No way, I don't want the pity win!!" So a tie would be best here. Sigh. Even though he didn't want to tie. Quote:
|
Text Cut: o:) He didn't want the pity win? Well, that meant only one thing: She was gonna give him the pity win. With a simple smirk playing upon her lips, Sophie delicately took the quill from Zander and, without any hesitation, made her move in the bottom right corner. Quote:
Gotcha, Head Boy. |
SPOILER!!: Paulina Oh! It was her turn again. Hady easily marked down her next 'X' without any thought on it. Quote:

"Oh. I thought that was made up to scare people. How is this school still open?" Just saying. Paulina wondered if there were Acromantulas still wandering around but was too scared to ask. Quote:

Davie could do tic-tac-toe like this all day though. Easily. He put his X in the top center row and shrugged. "Looks like this one will be a cat's game." And why DID they call it a cat's game? Quote:

"Good game, 'mate'." |
SPOILER!!: Paulina As another 'O' was added to their game of tic-tac-toe by her older companion Hady glanced towards the front of the room. Surely the ten minutes they had to play was just about up. Sadly. It'd be nice to just sit here and play games all lesson along. However Hady knew that was highly unlikely and her attention shifted back to the parchment. With a brief moments pause she added an 'X' Quote:

She didn't have a favorite spot, really? "I love the treehouse." Ava said. "and the lake too. I do enjoy the breakfast event. It was fun. Does school always throw the fun activities like that?" She curiosly asked. Continuing the tic tac toe, she put down her last O SPOILER!!: tic tac toe "I win!" |
Quote:
"I'm sure that's a thing..." the boy replied cautiously, blinking at his fellow Ravenclaw, and then looking over his shoulder as though someone there could back him up. Right, "good game," Davie repeated, holding out his hand very formally since they had ended their game. |
SPOILER!!: >____< What was she smirking about? They were going to tie. Sophie Brown wasn't going to win? What in Merlin's name was up with that smirk???? It was kind of terrifying... But she had nothing to smirk about so whatever. Zander took the quill from her and went to look at the-- SOPHIE BROWN. What part of HE DIDN'T WANT the pity win, didn't she understand?????? ........ What. He was probably giving her the exact reaction she was hoping for. G A H. SOPHIE BROWN. -_______- Well he couldn't just take the move. Sophie would be all too pleased. And he DIDN'T want the pity win. If he was going to win he was going to do it right or not at all. He wasn't a Slytherin, he didn't just take what was dangled right in his face. He needed to put forth the effort. -______________- So uh, what now? He scratched his head for a second, still trying to decide on his move before turning back to Sophie. And giving her a look. Then back to the parchment. Quote:

SPOILER!!: Norah "Hey Norah!" Milo said as he shook her hand back. He had just realized that she was a Hufflepuff Prefect for the badge had been small and he hadn't noticed when they were all just standing around. That was neat. He watched her start to make a move and then pull her hand back as she thought more. Very good idea Norah. She didn't know that Milo was VERY good at this game. He used to make his mom play with him over and over until she would get frustrated from losing and tell him to go outside or read something. "Alright." He made his move and then made a motion for her to go. Where would she pick?? - - O - X - - - O |
