The shouting was giving her a headache and she was beginning to lose her concentration for the class. She didn't need any of that so with a deep breath she shifted her focus back to her friend beside her with a small grin when she saw his smile. "I'd never let you down either." That was a fact. She wouldn't no matter what happened. Her grin still in place she looked to the Professor just as he began his rant about everyone needing to straighten out their behaviors and such. As the Professor continued talking Hady barely managed to cast a quick "Finite" on her jar changing it back to it's correct size and grabbing it in her hand before the desks and chairs were gone! Luckily she didn't fall over or anything however a small frown had formed on her face as she clutched the jar and her wand in her hands. Quote:

Activity Post 1 Holy Hippogriffs those spiders were huge!!! How in the world did the Professor know they were harmless!!!! He must be joking, and for that matter Margo hadn't truly been successful in shrinking her jar!! Dear Merlin that was NOT going to be pleasant. She wanted to ask the Professor if he knew for sure they were harmless....but seeing how the rest of the class was going, she wasn't sure she'd make it out alive if she asked anything else...... Okay, man Margo was still afraid what if she couldn't do this.........but she had to try.......moving VERY slowly up to one of the gigantic spiders. Margo pulled out her wand "Diminuendo" Margo said giving her wand a point toward the spider............and to her absolute amazement the spider began to shrink "Look I did it!!!" Margo said smiling, okay.....one down....two to go.... |
#2 SPOILER!!: Hady They were... gross, but kinda cool, but really weird, and just... wow. Mouth closed after his initial shock, he watched as the spiders descended, wondering if maybe the Professor was wrong about them. He'd basically said that they were nice and harmless... but if that was he case, then why were they coming at him?... and Hady... and everyone else? Hhhmmm? "If you don't want to touch them, I can do it," he offered before quickly tugging Hady by the elbow out of the path of the spiders that came from behind. Yikes. "If we get five between us, do you recon he'll let us go straight away?" Was it worth a shot. He'd said two or three each, so five between them was a fair amount. Not to mention they were CREEPY spiders. "Dim----.." what was it? "Dimmini---..." no... that wasn't it either. Quickly he looked to the board to see what was written there. DIMINUENDO. Of course, due, he knew that. Wand pointed directly at the spider!beast in front of them, he cast the charm with EVERY intention of making it TINY and equitable. "Diminuendo!" At the last second he could have sworn he felt something brush up against his leg, making him jump to the side. He was sure he'd done it successfully, but hadn't looked as yet. |
Post 2 She felt like a spy, chasing the spider like that. She had troubles aiming at it, with it always scurrying away so quickly. Eventually, Nicole managed to corner the spider. She bent down for a clearer aim and muttered, "Dim- Dimnuendo," she cleared her throat and tried again, more firmly this time. "Di-min-u-en-do." The spider had finally stopped moving. Grabbing this chance, Nicole pointed at it and said loudly, "Diminuendo!" |

Trusting him...she had just told him she did and she said she had his back as well. Time to own up to that. "I think I'm okay...I just need them to be small." Yeah. Small was good. Aiming her wand at a huge spider that had made it's way close to where her buddy was she grabbed Zeke pulling him away. "Diminuendo!" She exclaimed clearly with a firm point at the spider. Had it worked? It better have worked. |
#1 o_______________O Bambi stared in muted horror as the lesson unfolded before her eyes. All the yelling, the rude students, the harsh professor. . . The seventeen year old doesn't scare easily, but she had to admit she was a little bit frightened as she hugged her now enlarged jar close to her. They were all insane. Rude, moody and insane. She didn't actually understand their indignation since most of her Professors back at Salem, and even in Beauxbatons, had been pretty strict themselves. Detentions, points lost, it all seemed very normal and regular to her. These kids however... They were really out of line. Yelling and just being plain disrespectful. It was hard to watch. Granted, the professor was unreasonable but one needs to be smart with how to respond to unreasonable adults. You needed to keep a cool head and strike when they're not expecting it. And where they cannot do anything to stop you. This yelling and snapping fingers and being typical teens wasn't a good way to go about it at all. But. Anyways. Back to the lesson. Wordlessly shrinking her jar once more just to see that she could still do it, she grinned as it shrunk down to such a tiny size it was no bigger than her nails. She'd been able to cast 'finite' wordlessly since the beginning of last year so she didn't think twice about ending the spell and instead turned to the- O_O NO. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE. Bambi took in a deep breath and almost screamed when she remembered the professor's stupid rule about loud noises. Biting her lip, she watched with terror as GIANT ARACHNIDS DESCENDING FROM THE CEILING. Taking short, deep breaths she fought to control her terror. Just spiders. SPIDERS. Just spiders, Bambs, they won't kill you. They won't bite you. They.. THEY WERE CLOSING IN ON HER. Cool head, cool head, cool head. "Diminuendo!" she said firmly, not relying on her nonverbals just yet. Her aim was perfect - it had better be, she'd slaved over it for the past two years - and the spider instantly shrank... into a normal sized spider. Tiny and squishable with her shoe. "Wingardium Leviosa," she then cast, levitating it right into her jar. One down. Next. |
#3 SPOILER!!: Hady Something wasn't right with Hady, he could see how tense she was, and he was sure if she gripped her wand and jar any harder she'd break them both. He spared a glance to the spider he'd tried to shrink, or... did shrink. It took him a moment to see it, but it was there. A speck of black with legs in comparison to the other so called 'spiders' scuttling about the room. With one swift motion, he uncapped the lid of his jar and swept the spider inside with the palm of his hand. If it bit him, he'd at least expect some kind of awesome super powers. "I've got your back," he said, but before he could do or say much else, it was HIS turn to be yanked away. Phew, "Good one," he noted, "you got that one real good." Yeah, it didn't stand a chance. Figuring he'd do the right thing and protect Hady, he stood directly against her like a human shield in case something came at her while she was collecting it. Ain't no spider be getting to her on his watch. As well as keeping her from creepy arachnid harm, he was also keeping an eye out for his next victim. |
Post 3 The spell had worked. It started shrinking, and soon, it was small. She would have wanted it to be even smaller, but that was enough for now. Nicole was amazed, but she did not have the time to pause there and marvel over how great of a job she had done. Still in the awkward bent over position, she ushered the spider into her jar. It obeyed and moved in. The girl closed the lid over it and held the jar as far away from her as possible. Turning around for another spider to capture, she decided to aim for one on the ceiling this time to challenge herself. "Diminuendo." she said, pointing at a slightly smaller spider. It crawled away before her spell hit it. "Diminuendo!" she repeated, her wand following it. Again, she failed. Why did spiders move this fast? |
Post 1 Ignoring EVERYONE for now, Kevin grabbed his wand and walked to a more private place where he could do this activity alone. He looked up and didn't even flinch at the sight of the huge spiders coming down from the ceiling. It wasn't that scary. He pointed his wand at one straight above him saying "Diminuendo!". The light shot towards the spider, shrinking it and he reached in his pocket to grab his jar but then..... ...He didn't have one... Slightly panicking now, which he didn't show on the outside, Kevin had to think of a way to catch that spider before it landed on his head. So instead with the use of a jar, the Gryffindor held out his hands and let the tiny spider fall in it. ....Now what?! He turned around to look at the box of jars at the Professor's desk and he took a deep breath before walking towards it, the spider still between his hands. He kept a constant vigilant eye on the Professor in case he knocked him unconcious and threw him out of class and quickly grabbed a jar before turning back to his original place, placing the spider inside of it. |
#2 Spiders were such UGLY creatures. Ugh, they way they walked and made that scuttling sound, and their HAIRINESS. Yuck. If they didn't scare her so completely she might even feel a little sorry for them. "Diminuendo!" again she cast, aiming for one still on the wall by her table. It would have been hard to miss, what with it being so huge and really close to her, so with satisfaction she watched it shrivel down into a tiny, pathetic thing. "Win-" she began, but stopped and instead cast it non-verbally. She needed all the practice she could get. Wingardium Leviosa! she lifted the gross thing into the air and back into her jar. There. Now they could keep each other comp- HEY. The first spider was trying to escape! EW EW EW EW. Placing her wand behind her ear for a second, she turned the jar with the two spiders in it and flipped it upside down. HA. There. Now they couldn't get away. |
Post 2 Margo watched around the classroom as her classmates were being as successful as she had been. This had to make the Professor happy right? They were behaving for the most part so far, at least as much has Margo and seen. Okay, it was time to do this again. Eyeing a spider that wasn't moving very much in the corner of the room Margo sneaked up to it trying not to spook it or make to much noise. Pulling our her wand she spoke the incantation one more time and gave a stab forward with her wand. Unfortunately, this time nothing happened!!! "Oh no!!!!" Why would it work once and not another!!!!! And now the spider had turned toward her and was advancing! "Help!!! Help!!" Margo cried to the nearest student..... not remembering that they were suppose to be 'harmless' |

She'd got it! The huge spider was now just a tiny little thing she was sure she could crush with her finger. Just how she liked it. Letting out the breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding she quickly knelt down, uncapped her jar and scooped the unsuspecting little spider into it slamming the lid back on. It was then as she got back to her feet she heard Zeke complementing her. Flashing him a quick grin she patted him on the shoulder. "And I've got yours. We can do this." Hady was alright now. Maybe. Or at least she was hiding her discomfort with these things much better. "Ready?" She asked him smirking lightly her gaze fixed on the spiders coming their way, her wand at the ready. They could do this. She was sure of it now. |
#3 ; Margo! Text Cut: Margo! Bambi was just about to pick another spider to shrink - the more she put away the less she seemed to be afraid of them - when she suddenly a girl call for help. Eyes bugging, she fervently hoped Professor Quigley wouldn't go bonkers and shrink the girl himself so she hurriedly went over to the girl to see what the problem was. It was a spider. Obviously. "It's okay, they won't do anything, stay calm," Bambi said with the gentlest tone she could muster and turned to put herself between the tiny Hufflepuff kid and the huge spider. The huge spider that really didn't scare her anymore. HA. Not afraid of YOU anymore. "Want to try again? I'm right here in case you miss," she turned to the girl with an encouraging smile, her wand never wavering from the slowly advancing spider. |
#4 SPOILER!!: Hady Spider two was in his sights, so when he felt Hady's pat on his shoulder all he could really do was grin. This whole spider thing, was weird, but he didn't much mind it. In a way it reminded him of the salamander challenge from last year. Minus the legs. "Of course we can do this, ready when you are" he agreed, pointing his wand in the direction of one of the large arachnids. But was she ready? he thought too late. "Diminuendo!" Only... he was perhaps too focused on his Lady Snake, because his charm did NOTHING. Frowning slightly, he tried again, "Diminuendo!" His second attempt hit the target, and the spider shrunk to a fraction of its original size. "C'mon," he encouraged, transferring his wand to his jar hand, keeping them both in a firm hold. Zeke took Hady's wrist and pulled her with him so he could collect the little sucker. It was best to stick close together, right? Not let the spiders get between them? Something like that. Nevertheless, as he arrived at the minute thing trying to get away, he uncapped his jar again and dropped the spider in - though it caught briefly on his finger. Ew. |
Post 1 Listening to the Professor, Gregoire watched as he uncharmed the ceiling and ASDFGHJKLZXCVBNMQWERTYUIOP! GIANT SPIDERS! GAAAAAHHHHH! This was the one thing Gregoire hated! Spiders! He detested the little- or giant, spiders. The Snake's hands were shaking in terror. He had to steel back a scream that was about to come out. Spiders were starting to land all around him! Where was his big brother, Jacques, when you needed him? He was the one in his house when father was away to kill all the spiders. The spiders were always a nuisance. With shaky hands he pointed his wand at the jar and said "Fi- Fi- Finite!" Now Gregoire's voice was trembling from all the spiders in the room. In his hand the jar grew back to it's original size. This fourth year now had some work to do, which was going to be harder. He didn't want to have to face his fears! Well, today at least! He wanted to wait to face his fears! Not now! Aiming his wand at one of the spiders that was crawling near him Gregoire exclaimed in a sense of panic "Stupid spider! Nobody likes you! Dimuendo!" Yes! He watched as it shrunk down to a size where it could fit in the jar. Grabbing a piece of parchment paper, he slammed the opening of the jar around the, now fleeing spider. Sliding the paper underneath of the opening, he'd use it as a lid so that way he wouldn't have to touch any of them. |
Activity: Post 2 Trying to keep at the spiders' speed, Abbi hopped along as she followed it. She'd been doing so for a few moments now and it seemed like the spider would never stop; but it did. It paused and turned to look at her, and that's exactly when she went for it. She aimed her wand at him and then cast the charm. "Diminuendo!" her enthusiasm was still there. This time he shrank to perfect size and now all that was left to do was to catch him before she could say she'd completed one spider. It didn't take her long and that was most likely because one stride of hers counted as a good few hundreds of his or hers too, spiders could females, yes. She placed the Spider in the jar and closed it. "Stay Spidey, I'mma get you a friend." See, she was even nice to the thing whilst being boss. Everything and anything ws possible with Abbi. Who was the next victim then? Her eyes watched the scene of crawling and acrobatic spiders hanging from the roof. There was one that seemed to think he was on some sort of holiday, well not for long Spidey 2. Abbi was here. |
Post 1 Woah! O___O Adi was watching all the interactions/ arguments or whatever they were that were taking place between Professor Cat/ Feline and the students especially the Gryffindors and the Ravenclaws... who seemed to be on a roll today. Kevin. Adi wasn't at all surprised by his behaviour... and then Puck got detention O__O Welcome to Hogwarts, Professor Feline. Another activity! Awesome! Adi grabbed his tiny jar as Maddox banished the furniture. The Puffer was curious and he watched the man pointing his wand to the ceiling to reveal... Giant Spiders. Admittedly, Adi panicked at first. Who wouldn't? There were LOADS of GIANT SPIDERS! He fought his panic and it was a good thing he did for he heard the Professor say they were friendly and harmless. PHEW! What a relief. Okay. What first? Oh yeah! Unshrink the jar! Adi pointed his wand to the mini jar in his hand. "Finite!'' Annnnd unshrinking, unshrinking, unshrinking! One normal sized jar in Adi's hand. Woot! Now it was time to go after the Spiders! Oh looky! One right off to his left! Wand pointed at it, the Hufflepuff said confidently, "Diminuendo!" |

She was ready this time and gave him a firm nod of her head to confirm it. She watched him cast the charm but was surprised nothing had happened! What was going on there? Was he distracted or something? Before she got the chance to encourage him to try it again he already had and was pulling her along with him to capture his spider. She didn't mind one bit being pulled along cause at least she knew she'd be out of harms way beside him. "Good job" Hady praised him with a grin only it was gone in a flash as she heard the distinct sound of spider movement. Twisting around she spotted it come towards them. So without getting a chance to think she pointed at the ugly much to large spider and called out, "Diminuendo!" Ha! There was noway she was going to let it get near either of them. Now she just had to figure out where it went...cause right now she didn't see it. |
post #5: correcting Gregoire SPOILER!!: Gregoire After putting the spider on her jar, she kept an eye to the next spider. Bianca hoped that there would be more crawling at her feet or any of her stuff. She might cast stunning charm again if that happened again. Seriously. While she watched for another spider, the seventh year student watched the her fellow housemate had a wrong incantation of the spell. "It's not Dimuendo. No wonder why your shrinking charm did not work." She said to him. The brunette grabbed her wand and aimed it to the spider, showing to the males Slytherin student how to cast the right spell. "Diminuendo!" The spider then shrunk into as a size of knut coins. She grabbed it and put them in her jar. Since she previously stupefied the spider, the brunette looked for another spider to be shrunken. THERE YOU ARE! Bianca spotted a spider nearby. Quickly she performed the charm. "Diminuendo!" |
Post 2 The white light missed the spider Adi had been aiming at by a few inches. It wasn't because he had a bad aim. On contrary. His aim, developed by years of bowling in cricket matches, was excellent. No, it was because the spider had scuttled off the moment Adi had said the incantation as if it had heard him. It probably did. The Hufflepuff wasted no more time as he quickly turned his wand on another arachnid. "Diminuendo!'' Point! More white light flew from his wand and zoomed towards his next target. |
#5 SPOILER!!: Hady They were a dynamic duo, he was sure of it. How else would they have managed to do so well, hhhhmmm? Neither of them had been bitten, or climbed on, strangled or suffocated by the creepy spider legs, so... this was SUCCESS. Hady's praise was appreciated, though hardly necessary, all things considered. Still, he couldn't have asked for a better partner to help him with the task, because she helped him as much as he helped her. He was re-capping his jar when she cast the charm herself, but when he turned, he couldn't see anything. "D'you get it?" Zeke shook his jar a little, destabilising the spiders he'd collected... possibly making them mad. Heh. |
Activity: Post 3 The spider that was lazying about in its web seemed like the perfect representation of Abbi on most days. The thought of that made her laugh quietly to herself as she urged closer towards it. Nothing was really in her way ahead, but on top; she forgot about that. CLINK. A spider landed right before her edging closer. LIKE NO THANK YOU PLEASE SPIDER. CAN YOU PLEASE MOVE. Of course, she never actually said that because did it look like she'd just shout out and a spider like that? Okay, she in fact would but the thing about being quiet in this classroom..yeah. Sorry, Mr Holiday but Spidey 3 over here needed some shrinking first it appeared. She aimed her wand and then for a third time cast the spell. "Diminuendo!" The spider shrank smaller than her first caught spider. It was now around the size of her thumb. HEH. BOSS SESSION was awesome. |
post 2 Abby turned to where all the spiders were running about in the classroom she pointed her wand at the closest one and said "Diminuendo" Abby watched as the spider shrunk before her eyes and she picked it up and put it in her jar and she thought to herself another two or three more will do |
Kate looked at the spider she'd just shrunk and quickly got her jar in a position to catch it. Lid in one hand and open jar posed to catch a spider in the other, she chased after the mini spider. Voluntarily chasing after a spider was bad enough, but what would be worse is if somebody snatched up her tiny spider before she got it in the jar. All that hard work for nothing! She could NOT let that happen! Kate cornered the spider and swooper her jar in hopes of catching it. No such luck. She frowned at the spider and chased after it again. She cornered it a second time and swooped again. This time, the spider panicked (or at least spastically tried to get away), but Kate had it! She closed the lid on the jar and watched the mini spider crawl around in it. |

Vaguely hearing Zeke beside her she shook her head. "Nope I ca-" Hady began but her words were cut off by a small startled yelp and her leaping backwards brushing the tiny thing off her hand! How had it gotten there! Near panic she forgot she was supposed to be capturing the darn thing not letting it get away! |
