Cartographers Club: Meeting One

Maybe Abbi had never been a Picasso when it came to art, but you know she could draw somewhat further than a stick-man. That had ought to mean something for a meeting like this, did it not? Supposedly, she would have to see as well as see if the whole cartography vibe actually suited her. She'd give it a try, because *what* did she have to loose? ABSOLUTELY NADA. The fifth year made her way, the house tables flashing past and eventually the door to the hidden room too. She entered. PLUSHY CUSHIONS!!!! No. She would not loose her cool over this. Just cushions....PLUSHY CUSHIONS. Oh heck, she didn't care about cool, not cool. Those were PLUSHY CUSHIONS. Did people get that by now? *PLOMP* She allowed herself a bounce as she landed on one. So was she actually first for a change? Where was everyone? She expected to see a Paris and a Donny here. They were the arty-farty people she knew; but hey others would come too. |
Dante was interested or maybe intrigued by this Cartographer Thing. He knew had something to do with maps. But that was about it. He was bored and had nothing else to do. The squishy, plush cushions were nice. But free food would be better. But he was here and he might as well learn something. The second year flopped onto a cushion and waited for the show to start. Though he still do not know who was running this shindig. Shindig. Now that was a fun word. Like Shenanigans. |
When Lux saw the notice for a Cartographers Club on the Hufflepuff noticeboard, she just knew she HAD to attend. Exploring was a lot of fun, and Hogwarts was a big place to explore. She knew that because she had done so many times over the last few years. Map making, she wasn't familiar with in the slightest, but that was the fun in it! She would be learning something new and she'd tell Bay about it later. Entering the room, she was surprised to see that hardly anyone was there. But look, Abbi!! "Hey!" she greeted her friend cheerfully before plopping down on a cushion beside her. Hopefully loads more people would arrive soon. |
When the notice had went up for a new club Benny had been curious as to what they would be doing exactly. He had deduced the involvement of maps in their meeting, or at least had looked it up. But even still there was a lot on uncertainty as to the extent they would be used. The professors and staff and student leaders surely had a large amount of creativity when they came up with stuff to happen around the school. His curiousity had got the better of him, so near the time they were to meet, the Gryffindor headed down to the Great Hall and through the doorway to the attached room. He was alone save for a fellow fifth year lion, a younger Slytherin and Lux and the fluffy cushions that were spread out across the stone floor for more comfortable seating. "Hey..." Ben greeted the room simply as he walked around to find his own cushion, lowering himself down upon it. |
Abbi & Lux ^_^ Cartogrpher's Club? Well, why not? It's not like she has many better things to do Glancing around the room, Bambi spotted Abbi sitting on the cushions and grinned. "Hi!" she greeted, and plomped down beside her friend. Because they were friends now. Mmhm. Totally. And there was someone else here too. "Oh, hello, I'm Bambi," she said to the girl (Lux). |
Well, this was different. The announcement had had Gabriel from the word 'map'...and it was new to Hogwarts as a club, yes? Nothing like it had been attempted in all the years of it's existence...that he'd read. Naturally, Gabe had done his homework, as he liked to do. It was sure to have quite a turnout...with newness being a factor. Of course, not many people had arrived yet but it was early, still. In his robes pockets, empty potion vials clinked together, but Gabe didn't mind for people to know they were there. If they were going to traipse around the castle, it was a safe bet he'd find some potions ingredients. A stray bug...or plant...random hairs... It was better to be prepared, you see. Taking a random cushion. he peered around at people. People watching ftw. |
So... Cartography. What did Adi know about it? Not much beside the fact that it dealt with maps. Well, this meeting should enlighten him a bit more, right? Stepping into the room off the Great Hall, Adi waved at the people gathered there which included Lux, Dante and Gabe. Hiiiii, guys! Of course he didn't forget about Benny. Benny got a grin, a happy Hufflepuff plopped down on the cushion beside him and a greeting. "Hi!'' This was one of those rare moments when Benny beat him to a gathering. |
Just like that, she didn't have the room all to herself and her PLUSHY cushions. At first some second year walked in, she watched him with a half smile for a moment. To think she was that small, once upon a time. There was a plonk number two, HELLO LUX. Abs beamed her common beam. "Haaaai, this is gonna be interesting, I rate?" What did Lux think then? AND OMG HELLO BAMBI. Her head titled to her other side as the other plushy cushion became occupied. "Hey Speedy." Beams were given to her too. "This is Lux." Just to help the introduction some. Also was that, that Gabe guy. Well okay let's just all stare at the classroom? Was she supposed to say hello to him? She had a conflicting mind on that matter. |
Kace heard about the Cartographers club on the Puffers notice board. He thought this class was gonna be soo cool. He was interested because he wanted to make maps. I mean a treasure map would be even cooler but regular maps will do too. He didn't see the Professor running this club yet so he walked around and noticed Lux was there. No shocker there because him and Lux were interested in the same things. "Hey Lux fancy meeting you here.." he grinned and plopped down on the bean bags. Man these things were really comfy. He wondered who was running this club. "Do you know who the head of this club is?" he asked Lux. |
Toby had always loved exploring the castle; since his first year he'd been so bouncy and hyper and unwilling to sit still and that always led to wandering around to get a good look at the castle. Also, exploring and adventuring were some of the first things he and Soph had done when they decided to be best friends. So it was the association with good things that led Toby here today, rather than any longstanding interest in cartography (though he figured it would be super fun to learn about that too, because NEW THINGS!) Another part of the appeal was the possibility of hanging out with others at the club meeting and maybe even making some new friends. As soon as Toby arrived at the room off the great hall, he found himself peering around to see who else had showed up. Mostly people he sort of knew, or at least knew of, so far. Ooooh, Gabriel was here, though! Toby flashed the Ravenclaw prefect a smile when he saw him, waved, and wandered on over to flop onto one of the squishy cushions near him. Hi friend. Ooh, these cushions WERE comfy. |
Abby had heard about the cartographers club and was interested which was why she was here seeing some of her friends she sat down on a free cushon while waiting for the meeting to start |
A new club. Eden didn't know anything about maps. Nothing. And she wasn't even very good at geography. So why did she come to this? New. Cool. Shiny. Different. Friends. FUN. Were all of those reasons good enough? Yeah? The brunette plopped down on one of the cushions and settled. She saw a few friendly faces...and waved at most of...like Toby, Lux....Abbi and Abby--wow. Both Abb names. Interesting. She shot a VERY threatening glare at the one and only Gabriel Banner and didn't bother to say anything to him. Jerkjerkefehrifhiugheigh. Cough. She would do her best not to look at him throughout this. Needless to say, the Irish girl wasn't happy with her prefect. |
Ruby had spotted some of her friends disappearing into this room so naturally she went and followed and.... ... oh no! This looked like a school related activity! And the only cute boys in here were taken, or related! STUFF OF NIGHTMARES. Could she leave without drawing attention to herself? What were they all even doing in here? |
Okay in all honesty, he wasn't here for the maps. Actually, he was here for everything but the maps. Okay okay okay. He was really here for the part of the poster that said something about exploring the castle. That's all he really cared for. Exploring Hogwarts was one of the BESTEST parts of going to the school and even though he was a Fifth Year now, there were loads of places he had never gone to before. Like the forbidden forrest. Could they do that? AHEM. Zander made his way into the room and looked around noticing a couple of friends who all got smiles sent there way. Yeah, yeah. Talking to you Benny, Adi, Lux, Eden, Abi, etc etc etc. Yeah. Except Kevin wasn't here. And neither was Sophie Brown (though she'd probably sit with Tobriarson so it didn't really matter anyways). And Puck, Cinna, and Emmy hadn't arrived yet... So uh, all on his own then. Yup. He was just gonna sit here on the lonely side of the room, eyeing the door in search of friends. Mhm. Hi yes hello, friends who don't have other friends to sit with come hither please. |
So Kate knew nothing about making maps, but she did see the notice for this, and she did want to explore Hogwarts! She was new to the school, so what better way to figure things out than this club! She made her way into the room and looked around. Just the students were here so far, she thought. There were cushions around the room, so she bee-lined for an empty one and got herself comfortable. Alright, Hogwarts. Kate Addison here...ready to explore! |
Well this club sounded interesting... Really it did. Anything remotely artsy caught the fifth years eyes. Always. She loves art... The art of making maps, yes. Plus the poster made the club seem interesting. This was probably the closest to a art club as she was going to get. Oh and the exploring sounded fun, too. Of course it did. She made her way into the room... There was Lux talking to Abbi so yeah no. Definitely not going over there. Kace was there, but no Emmy. Bo . She waved at Kace, though. She dodged quickly so Lux wouldn't see her. Ugh who to hang around. No Eden? Aegis? Bart? Puck? Dot? Nope none of them were there yet. But she spotted a Zander. "Hey Zander. So is this going to be interesting or what?" She grinned and flopped down beside him. |

This club seemed like SUCH a fun idea really. Not the maps, those were probably drool worthy in their boringness no, just no. She was here for the adventure for the fact that it would be fun to adventure and really explore Hogwarts…she’d not done any of that last term really at all. Oh heeeeey there were a lot of people there. She grinned and waved when she spotted Lux, Abby…she grinned at everyone really including both of the Banners. She had to remember to catch up with Ruby and Grayson sometime and compliment them on their recent Halloween costumes. Still…as she looked around the room trying to find friends to sit with she couldn’t help but let a dopey grin fall into place as she spotted Zander eying the door. Dopey grin in place she practically skipped over to the Prefect in crime and sat down next to him her leg almost touching him close to him…but this wasn’t unheard of right? It was Puck. Daring. Flirtatious. Courageous Puck. “Hey! You beat me here” she laughed and reached into her robe pocket and felt around for the little box. “Here,” she grinned as she pulled out the chocolate frog box and plopped it on his lap. "Hey Cinna, hey EMMY!" Puck looked up and grinned at her friends. |
So what was this? Another Class or something, All Aegis saw was Abbi, Cinna, Eden, and Lux walk in as well as a nice looking Slytherin Girl (Ruby). Gotta introduce himself to her later, maybe. She seemed just as lost as he did following all the beauties into this room. Maybe he could, help her out later if there was some partnering up to do...Brilliant Aegis... He gave each of the girls a smug smile. Maybe more for Cinna than others, but no one could really tell how smug his smirks were, let alone if they could measure his smugness. AH Hey Look Prefect Zander! This Class may have gotten even better. The Blonde took a plush cushion for himself directly beside the Lion Leader Boy, and smirked more of an evil grin at him "Heeeeeey, Zander." Aegis spoke Maliciously to him |
The Charms Professor was here. He might not have been as early as he The Professor leaned against the wall in the back, deciding it best not to draw any attention to himself. He was here, sure, but that didn't mean he wanted an announcement made of it. That was grounds for things going wrong and when people SAW you, it was hard to slip back out of the room and pretend you saw nothing. See the problem? He wasn't here. |
Looking around the room she noticed Kace, she was about to say something to him but then she stopped herself because he was talking to Lux. Apart if Emmylou wanted to drag Kace over to her and Cinna but that would cause a scene and she wasn't one for wanting to cause a scene and she also wasn't the jealous type, it was more to the point that it looked like Kace really didn't want to talk to Lux more that Emmylou's issues with Lux. She knew if Kace didn't want to talk to someone and this was one of those times. |
The children probably didn't know this, but their Headmistress had been QUITE the wanderer in her younger and child-less years. She and Ethan had spent every summer outdoors, sleeping in a What was even better was when the adventure had purpose. And this adventure-within-an-adventure? Here at Hogwarts? Yes, it had a purpose. And yes, she WAS here to help supervise this club. Why not get the students going on something educational and vocational. The woman strode into the room just off the Great Hall, took a look around from her vantage point by the door, and nodded firmly. Good. They had a good turnout so far. "Quigley," she greeted the Charms professor as she brushed by him to go to the head of the room. "Glad you could make it." As he should. |
More people were coming in, and that made Lux happy. Maybe the meeting would start soon at this rate so she could know who the leader was and what exactly they would be doing. We're snacks involved? Because they always made meetings better. "Hey!" she said in response to Benny, figuring that he was probably waiting for Adi to arrive. Surely that would be soon because she'd be amazed if her Puff buddy didn't show for this... And speak of the devil, he just walked in. A little weird, but she sent Adi a smile and a wave before being distracted by a girl who introduced herself as Bambi. "Nice to meet you, I'm Lux!" she said just before Abbi could finish getting the introduction in. Oops. Hehe. "Oh, yes! I am excited to learn about maps. Do you know anything about maps?" she asked her friend curiously. It was no surprise to see Kace at this, since they seemed to share a lot of interests. "Hey! I have no idea," she admitted. "I take it you don't know either?" It was kept a mystery as far as she knew, which was rather strange. She didn't get much time to dwell on it when Zander and Eden entered the room one after the other. Haaaaai. Enthusiastic waves to them both. And was it her, or had Cinna just arrived as well before taking a seat somewhere else? Curiously she raised her brow and figured Cinna didn't want to be seated by Abbi which was perfectly understandable. She sent her bestie a wave, hoping that it would be noticed and returned. Emmy didn't get a wave, however. In fact Lux looked away when she walked in and sat beside Cinna. Look at her, she was a pro at this ignoring thing. Puck and Aegis got friendly waves. She did notice Professor Quigley enter the room as well, but since he seemed not to want attention drawn to himself at that moment she waited to say hello to him. And now the Headmistress had arrived too, and she got a smile. |
Was Marigold interested in cartography??? ... Well, she had never really thought about it. It wasn't the most obvious career choice in the world and such, so her mind had never even considered it. But hey, she wasn't going to close opportunities before they even started, was she? The answer was no. Oh look, Ruby! "Hey, Ruuuuuuuubez," she said, smiling and plopping down on a squishy cushion. Squish. |
