Lux, Puck, Tobias and Angel SPOILER!!: Angel and the Group Good, Angel and he were working together but Benny doubted they could get along with working on their own. Especially since he himself wasn't all that knowledgeable on the subject. He wasn't even sure what they were doing. And everything was going on so fast around him, the fifth year was likely going to be even more lost in comparison to everyone else. Taking Angel's hand in one grasp and his notes and parchment in the other, he moved towards the group of Puck and Lux hoping they could slip into and work with them. "Hey..." Benny said to be polite, listening too as they all seemed to be grasping the concept of what was going on. "Could we please join you guys?" As in could you please help us? he was trying to follow along with what was already being said. |

"Yeah, definitely. Which was saying something, considering she actually got possessed by Voldemort and everything, she was still strong enough to reach out and join the cause to fight him because her love for her family and friends trumped whatever corruption Voldemort tried to install in her. In fact, Harry wouldn't have ever stumbled upon the diary in the first place if she weren't able to pick love over Voldemort," he pointed out. |
Final post in 5-6 hours Still roaming around the room and eavesdropping on conversations, she was satisfied that the groups were staying almost exclusively on task. She did manage to catch some interesting snippets, like Mr. Toussaint implying that her Prefect was dating his own sister. The hue of his face had been truly spectacular. After a quick check of her watch, she cleared her throat and addressed the class. "Finish up your final thoughts and un-group, please!" |
Margo had given her two sense, and she had nothing further to say. So with that, she made her way back to her own desk and was listening to what the Professor had to say. Class was almost over..... at least that's what Margo was thinking. |
RL is crazy. I'm totally in a group. *pretends* :D Okay so... this whole group thing was not working out for her, and honestly AK was just fine with that because she didn't feel much like conversing with people anyways. She would remember certain people though, she would. Anywho. Her person was Hermione and they were discussing using your birth name vs your married name. What were her thoughts on this? "I think there is such thing as being born with a destiny and choosing your destiny." Like, obviously you couldn't help being born. Nobody asked to be here. Which was a whole different topic that could be talked about, but no need to get herself off track anymore. Yeah, so numbers meant certain things in Arithmancy. There was no denying that. AJ wasn't so much focused on that part of it, but more of the differences between being married and being single and what that meant for you. "I think even when you get married you are choosing that person and choosing that last name and by doing so choosing your own destiny." Oh man, did she just get deep? That felt totally deep. Plus, it was totally sane to talk to yourself. She was pretty sure about that. |
SPOILER!!: AJ! <3 Adi edged over to AJ after excusing himself from his group. He didn't have anything else to add anyway. He noticed she was alone but he hadn't noticed if she was in a group before. "Talking to yourself? Sure you haven't gone mad without me?" he teased in a light tone. He was being cautious here because AJ might snap at him again and when she did, he'd be depressed and Benny would have to cheer him up again. "I can help you out if you like.'' But the time was almost up... though he could still add in one or two stuff that AJ had missed. |
Angel looked at Benny and suddenly had a thought as she felt his hands in hers. "If people change just because of their last name, does that mean that even though I want to be an explorer now, if I get married in the future I might want to be a famous singer or something like that?" Angel was really confused because at the minute all she wanted to do was be an explorer had done since she could remember and if her changing her name stopped that she would have to ask if she could keep the same name because it would be better for everything, |
SPOILER!!: Adi Adi and AJ had an electrifying connection. She could sense him before she saw him. So it was no surprise that she knew he was there before he spoke. AJ was hyper aware of her boyfriend. If he still was her boyfriend. It was so good to hear his voice again and even though a million things were running through her head right now, all she could do was melt at the sight of him. "You wish you could have that affect on me." If only he knew how close he was to the truth. Help? Well, she would be lying if she said she didn't need any. "Okay," she said still sizing him and the situation up. "I've already determined that you choose your own destiny by choosing who you marry." In case he missed that little rant she had going on. "As far as the numbers go... well..." Not so good. It was hard to focus, okay! |
Time was nearly up. And he still had no one to work with. And getting up to go and find someone sounded like it required too much effort so................. he stayed put. Sitting in his seat. Looking like a freaking loser. Shrug. That meant that he was gonna do SOMETHING to make use of the small amount of time left, whether it meant following orders or not. Technically, Tanner couldn't be mad, could she? It was still Arithmancy based. And there was no way that the woman would throw him into detention or whatever for kinda following orders and kinda not. #Yolo So, after flipping his textbook to the correct page, Grayson pulled his notebook closer and started scribbling away. Text Cut: Notes .............. What a load of nonsense. This reminded him all too much of the pieces of homework he did at the last minute that he managed to fly through just by writing down whatever smart idea came into his head and then hoping for the best. Did any of it make sense? He didn't know. |
Angel and Group Benny heard Angel's question and turned to her as he thought on what she was looking into. "I think if it did have some effect, it wouldn't be quite as drastic." If he was seeing it right, changes might be more subtle or along the lines of changing priorities rather then outright dreams. Not that either idea of her future wasn't something Benny could see her doing in her life. "Like being more responsible than wild and carefree?" That would certainly explain why most married folk tended to settle down afterwards. "Or how Hermione went from being protective of her friends to becoming more motherly. From academic and defensive to understanding to somewhat more offensive." Hadn't she worked in MLE at one point? |
SPOILER!!: AJ! <3 Still being harsh on him, huh? Adi decided to pretend he did not hear that. At least she hadn't refused his help. Sighing, he slipped into the seat beside AJ. "Yeah, I figured that out just now too. I thought the name change had nothing to do with it.'' How wrong he was. "Seven and nine are the numbers we have to look at. Read the meaning for both numbers and apply it to Hermione. Let's see... for seven it says 'Specialize and teach your wisdom'. We know Hermione would help Harry, Ron and Neville while she was at Hogwarts so that part of the meaning is applicable to her.'' The Puffer looked back at AJ. "You can do he same for nine. Or add more to seven.'' It was up to her. |

SPOILER!!: Dream Team, yo; i think i may have missed quotes gah BUT i read them all Zander nodded thoughtfully as everyone contributed their own interpretations and you know... So far so good! Maybe this wasn't a hopless subject after all! And he was kind of getting it. 'Cause well of course the previous number made LOADS of sense because Hermione was like a GENIUS and knowledge and being wise was her thing! Or at least, that's what it seemed like with the little Wizard History he knew and what he had tried to gather from the Neville Longbottom biography, though that didn't provide all too much information on Hermione for obvious central topic reasons. And nine, well that made perfect sense too! "Yeah!" This was pretty EXCITING not even gonna lie! Arithmancy was supposed to be boring and sleep inducing, but he couldn't help but feel the blood rushing through his veins and all! He was GETTING IT like truly understanding!! Which meant maybe he wouldn't fail his OWLs and all hope was restooooored! Ahem. Interpretations. Right. What was everyone saying? "This makes tons of sense, because of course the latter half of her life would be focusing on love and sisterhood and healing stuff, 'cause once you're in a family... You have to stop thinking about just yourself and think about well.... Your family too," Plus she had kids so the healing arts could be put towards that, right? 'Cause kids got sick all the time. He'd know. "So maybe the name change really did imply a shift of her intentions in life? Since at the beginning she was real focused on properly trying to figure the world out with her knowledge 'n stuff... And then her focus later on became more shifted towards love for her family?" Maybe. It mentioned love in there somewhere. And sister/brotherhood. That too. |
Chartreuse Listened intensely as she was already lost on the subject. |
SPOILER!!: Adi AJ too thought that you were who you were regardless of who you marry. So did that mean that if you never ended up getting married that you wouldn't grow? You would always be the same exact person? She was thinking too much into this, she was sure. At least her brain was actually working. Maybe Adi sitting next to her had something to do with that. She didn't plan on admitting that just yet either. She listened as Adi summed up 7 quite nicely. Did she have anything to add to that? Maybe. Okay, not really. It was time to look up nine and see what that had to say. Her eyes skimmed over her book, and she looked back up at Adi. "It says here that your mission in life is to perfect and love unconditionally." She let that sink in for a few minutes. "I guess that makes sense because she is married and has kids." But couldn't that be said for everybody that got married? Surely you married somebody that you loved. She read on. "Hermione was helpful too, but she was always that." An aha moment just happened to her. "Sooo... she pretty much stayed true to herself and grew as she got older?" Or maybe not so aha? Heh. |
SPOILER!!: Dream Team and zomg Tanner! Yep yep... all that family stuff. He couldn't disagree with his team, they were right about that. And then Tanner called for them to finish up...... yikes, where'd all the time go huh??? HUH??? Zeke considered what they had spoken about so far, and the types of questions that Professor Tanner had asked at the beginning of the activity. Were both of the numbers/names relevant? Was one better than the other? ... He figured they were equally weighted. Both were remarkably accurate. "So.. with both destiny numbers, so with both names... I think they suit her really well for different parts of her like. I think though, as a Weasley it ties in part of who she was as a Granger but then also added to that with her new family life and things. So they're both important numbers but I don't think one is more important than the other." What did they think? Zeke closed his book, which was as packed up as he was going to get until they were dismissed. |
SPOILER!!: AJ <3 Adi tried to not stare at AJ as she spoke and instead forced himself to listen to everything she was saying. To help with that, he simply lowered his eyes back to his text book. Yeah, this was easier. He didn't want to see any anger in her eyes. He nodded. "It says something about brother sister relationship too. She was like a sister to Harry. So I would say that's how she started that part of her destiny,'' Adi said to the girl beside him, reciting the same thing he had told his group earlier. Stayed true to herself? That was something him and his other four group members missed. Forgetting that he was supposed to be focused on his book, Adi met AJ's eyes as he grinned. "That's a good way of putting it. I hadn't thought of that. Well done.'' For a moment it felt like everything was back to normal between them. |
Hady and Brooklyn! Kate was jotting down a few notes of her own, when Hady spoke up. "Definitely," she said, nodding in agreement when Hady mentioned Ginny's loyalty to her family. "I remember hearing about how she wanted to head off with Harry and her brother on their voyage to defeat Voldemort, too." Kate jotted down Hady's ideas, as well. While she was still taking notes, Brooklyn chimed in and connected the number nine to the number four. It seemed like loyalty was a pretty common ground either way they looked at it. "So loyalty is the connection," she said to Brooklyn. "Good find." Kate added that to her growing list of notes. "The professor also says to check and see if one number is better while the other is worse, and I don't think so with the nine and the four. They both look pretty good for her. It kind of looks like her early years will be spent making connections and relationships with family and friends, while her later years will be spent keeping those relationships strong. A lasting value, it says." G I N E V R A 7 + 9 + 5 + 5 + 4 + 9 + 1 = 40 4 + 0 = 4 M O L L Y 4 + 6 + 3 + 3 + 7 = 23 2 + 3 = 5 W E A S L E Y 5 + 5 + 1 + 1 + 3 + 5 + 7 = 27 2 + 7 = 9 4 + 5 + 9 = 18 1 + 8 = 9 Textbook Interpretation: NINE (9): Your mission in life is to perfect and love unconditionally. Your purpose is to strive for universal brother-/sisterhood, using your humanitarianism, responsiveness, and healing art. Learning to transform and heal and being receptive and forbearing will bring you closer to your destiny. You're destined for broad horizons. Reach out and help someone. Questions asked by the professor: 1. Discuss how both numbers' interpretations apply to your woman's life. 2. Is one number better or worse? 3. Is it possible that one could represent the early life and the other later life? Notes from Discussion: - Being loyal connects both numbers - Number nine, her early years, looks like it means making connections and relationships with family and friends, while number four, her later years, means keeping those relationships strong. |
Before he helped AJ, of course :P SPOILER!!: THE TEAM! Woah! Time was running out fast! Adi had to admit, he had quite enjoyed this lesson. So wrapping up... "I agree with you both.'' He glanced at Zander and Zeke. When her name changed, the meanings adjusted to fit her.'' Obviously. So the name change DID matter. Heh. Who would have thought? Adi ruffled Zeke's hair. The Gryffindor had come up with an excellent point."He's right. One isn't more important than the other. Guess this solves the question Tobias asked.'' He turned his gaze to Norah and Kace. Did his fellow Puffs have anything else to add? |
Kate and Brooklyn! From what she was reading and hearing from both her team mates she had to completely agree. The two numbers appeared to be spot on for Ginny bout in her early years as well as her married years. Taking her parchment and quill she hagan to make some detailed notes one the groups findings. "I think the both numbers fit Ginny really well and work for her. As for the last question I'd so that the numbers do work out for her. The number four fits her younger school years while nine says true to her previous years but strengthens it all." Hady agreed adding a bit of her own thought to it all. |
Thanks guys, that was fun! Parchments were shuffling, chairs were scraping, and conversations were subsiding. Ah, the classic sounds of a classroom. "I heard many, many interesting viewpoints today. It was refreshing to see students investigating and learning!" Perhaps she could get the hang of this teaching thing after all, though she wasn't sure how she felt about that 'keep the classroom chilly' concept she'd tried today. "So. As time is almost expired, we will leave the summarizing for your homework. Class dismissed!" |
ooc: RL is hectic right now. Quote:
SPOILER!!: Arithmancy notes Cilla thought she would wait for Abby's notes and then the two girls could compare. |
So... time was up. Adi closed his textbook and looked back at AJ. "I missed working with you,'' he said truthfully. "And I miss you but I'm always here... you know... whenever you need me.'' He smiled then stood up to head back to his seat to grab his bag. He wasn't going to force AJ to talk to him if she didn't want to. Back at his desk, he stuffed his belongings back into his bag, waiting on a certain Dragon. In the meanwhile... "This was a fun lesson and interesting lesson, Professor,'' he said to Tanner. Yep, it was. |
Quote:
But alas, time was up. "Thanks guys," he said to his group before standing and moving his chair back to his desk with his things. It took him only a quick moment to shove his things in his bag and sling it over his shoulder. He had hoped that they could play with their own name calculations for homework, so the fact that they were only going to write their conclusions was a little disappointing.. he'll have to do his own calculations another time. "Thanks for the lesson, Professor Tanner," he said with a smile as he exited the room. What class did he have now? |
Time was up? How was it that the lesson was finished already? It didn't seem like they had even been working all that long really. Gathering up her things once she knew her group was finished Hady packed her items into her bag. Getting to her feet she slung her bag over her shoulder. Bye Kate, Brooklyn, it was nice working with you both." She told her friends with a small wave as she made her way to the door. "Thanks Professor this was a nice lesson!" Hady called to Professor Tanner just as she reached the doorway of the classroom to leave. So was ready to go get some fresh air before her next lesson. |
