The class is back to its usual design: There are proper chairs with soft cushions to sit and lean back on, they are also still charmed to take the most comfortable shape and height once a student is seated. The walls are a soft, calming blue. There are one big, grey rubbish bin by the door and a white, porcelain washbasin with a tap for those who wants to wash their hands before/after the class and who can't perform 'Aguamenti' charm (a short hose to direct the water to the cauldron is on the white, porcelain shelf hung on the wall, in case it doesn't fit the washbasin). In addition, there is a large tray of something on teacher's desk, but a white blanket is covering it so that it's a surprise. Professor Cosgrach is nowhere to be found.
Come in and take a seat!
OOC: If you are going to RP your characer use the washbasin or the bin, you don't have to take Cosgrach's permission. Just assume he has granted it.
The class has begun, so please do not announce your late arrival, but act as if you've been here all along!

The forty minutes ticked by, and of that time, most of it was spent watching his beloved across the room. He did however, feel himself becoming less obsessive and was able to return his attention back to his unwell partner, and of course double checking his notes and rearranging his ingredients.
When the timer went off, Zeke silenced it and double checked the next item on his list.

Antidote to Common Poisons
Part 1
Add 1 Bezoar to the mortar
Crush into a very fine powder using the pestle
Add 4 measures of the crushed Bezoar to your cauldron
Add 2 measures of Standard Ingredient to your cauldron
Heat to a medium temperature for 5 seconds
Wave your wand
Leave to brew and return in 40 minutes with Pewter Cauldron, 34 minutes with Brass cauldron and 30 minutes with copper cauldron.
Part 2
Add 1 pinch of Unicorn Horns to your cauldron
Stir 2 times, clockwise
Add 2 Mistletoe Berries to your cauldron
Stir 2 times, anti-clockwise
Wave your wand to complete the potion
He saw problems with this part... this whole next part. WHAT kind of stirring implement was he supposed to use? Wood? Metal? Other?... Did it matter?
It WAS a 'beginner' level potion, and since the instructions didn't specify, he simply used the one that was most convenient for him at the time. The metal stirrer. "Scourgify." Once that was cleaned, he double checked his list again, and added one pinch of powdered Unicorn Horn to his cauldron and then stirred twice clockwise. Stir... Stir.
Following that, he dropped the two mistletoe berried in as well, and stirred it twice again, only this time anti-clockwise. Stir... Stir.
Removing the stirring implement, Zeke took his Larch wand in hand again and gave it another wave over his cauldron.
That was it?
Had it worked?
Could he heal Kace and his... beloved? She WAS pretty.
"Professor, I think I did it!" Zeke beamed. He bounced on his toes a little in anticipation.
Was it right? Was it?!
Did he passssss?... cause it only NOW re-occurred to him that THIS WAS AN EXAM AND ZOMG WHAT IF HE FAILED?!?!?!
Oh, OH THERE HE WAS. Dot bounced around and when Culloden got close enough, she threw his arms around his middle and squeezed him. "Sophie and I are best friends, and you're her best friend, and now you and I are other other best friends. I'm already cool, because Sophie said so." And so he should like her best now too. Dot took his hand and tugged him over to look at her potion.
"What makes you happy, Mr. Professor Sir?"
...Cosgrach wasn't expecting THAT.
He was surprised, but laughed a moment later and hugged her back. Merlin! He listened to what she had to say, and couldn't help but laugh AND look at Sophie, who had JUST damaged his properties.
"But Dot," he said in a teasing manner, "you still gotta prove me that you're cool." He did look at her potion, and smiled at her. "You have a nice potion there." Just saying. As for her second question, he frowned and THOUGHT. "Perfectly brewed potions, cool people and my family." Hmm?
Oh, Sophie WOULD clean her mess up once this class was over.

The moment dragged on for AGES, but then eventually he got an answer... and it BROKE his heart into TINY pieces. He didn't do it???.... but then... HE DID DO IT?! HE GOT AN 'O'?! ZOMMMGGGG!!!

Approaching the dark haired, pretty faced, soulful eyed Slytherin Princess, Zeke held out the vial in front of him and cleared his throat.
"I noticed you were sick, and... I made some antidote for you, the Professor approved it and everything, and I want you to be better because.... I love you, and you're beautiful." Yeah. All that. Never mind he still didn't know her name.

Yesssss! Her potion was correct. That almost made up for her day of heartbreak......almost. Jasmine took the antidote from Professor Culloden and rushed back to her partner. "Zhenya, I've got it! I've got the antidote. The Professor said that it was OK for me to give it to you.......so here." Jasmine held the vial of potion out for Zhenya to take. Hopefully all of he sickness would be behind her once she drank the antidote.
What a day this had been. What a class. Letting out a sigh of relief now that her potion was finished, Jasmine just wanted to get as far away from Kevin Hirase as possible. Oh Kevin.........Whhhhhhhhhyyyyy???

Zhenya was helped up off the ground by the Professor, and she felt her cheeks burn with redness. How embarrassing! "Thank you, Professor," she said, rubbing her sore hip. She was glad to see that he had picked up her flask of potion, and that nobody had been able to steal it. He examined it, and she was VERY pleased with his answer. She beamed a giant smile to him, jumping with pride inside. She had DONE it! "THANK YOU!" she squealed, an O! That was the best news she had heard ALL day!

Zhenya, in her flurry of getting saved by the Professor, getting her FIRST O GRADE, and still feeling sick, had lost thought of the young lion. Until he was suddenly there. He was quite cute. In a small kind of way. She smiled at him, thinking maybe he wanted to congratulate her on her first ever O, but she knew that was just big-headed. He had received an O as well, so maybe she should be congratulating him?
But that's not what he wanted.
She took a small inhale of breath, shocked by his confession. "I.. er, er… um…. o… th-thanks," she stuttered. He was holding a potion which Zhenya thought might be the exact cure she needed but….

She held it in her hands and looked between the Ravenclaw Prefect and the Junior Gryffindor. Two potions?! What a PICKLE! She was confused; obviously she should take Jasmine's potion as she had spent the entire lesson battling through her love, and then her heartbreak to make her a cure, but this young lad had just come and declared his LOVE for her! She had never even met him before, didn't even know his name! She didn't want to hurt his feelings and say no… what should she do!?
OH!
She understood then. Had this young lion also taken the same poison Jasmine had? Is that why he was in love with her? It MUST be!
She had an idea…
She quickly gave Jasmine a wink, and said "Thanks Jasmine, and here is my potion for you. The professor checked it and it's okay, and it will help you," and handed her the love potion cure in her small vial. She hoped Jasmine caught on with what she was about to do…
Turning to the young boy, she took his potion, too, and gave him a small kiss on his cheek. "Thank you, that was very kind of you. I'm Zhenya, by the way. Zhenya Burton." She put both potions on her desk and chose one at random, drinking it down. It tasted much better than the poison had, and she didn't even know whose cure she drank.

He was going to be the Prince, and she the Princess, and he's SAVE her... and then yeah, happily ever after right? Right? His little achey breaky heart started drooping though, when Jasmine came to steal his thunder.

BOOOOOOOO... if he wasn't as manly as he figured he was, he might have cried, but he didn't. He was feeling awfully emotional though. Ugh... the pain!
He didn't have too long to pine though, because she was speaking, her voice.... ...... HER VOICE! "You're welcome," he replied, perhaps too quickly. She'd take it yes? Or was she rejecting him? Was this it? A rejection?...
That's what he thought was happening when she thanked Jasmine, and took HER vial. But then something unexpected happened, VERY unexpected. SUPER unexpected. She turned back to him and took HIS potion tooooooo. So, she wasn't rejecting him? AND A KISS ON THE CHEEK!
Zeke froze.
FROZE. Like a deer in headlights.
Deeep deeep down inside this whole thing didn't sit well with him, but all he could feel at the minute was tingling where her lips had touched his skin. HE GOT KISSED! He couldn't speak. He wanted to say that she was welcome, again, but the words escaped him. The only thing he was capable of saying, was her name, "Zhenya..." Zhenya. Zhenya. Zhenya BurtonRogers. It had a nice ring to it.
He may have just been standing and staring, but he was terrible with computing this stuff, his head was a little fuzzy actually, come to think of it.
Zeke only came-to when he saw her consume the contents of one of the vials, he didn't care which it was, so long as she was better. "Better?" he manged to ask, wide hazel eyes looking up at her.

Mince the Valerian root and add it to the potion.
Add calendula pollen, stirring three times clockwise.
Shred the skullcap lengthwise, and slowly add it to the potion
Bring the temperature back up until the steam is rising again, stirring clockwise slowly. It should be a light blue-green at this stage.
Professor's note: Remember your intent-- concentrate on being calm and infusing your work with a calm, deliberate result.
Add asphodel -- you should see a bright blue flash of light in your cauldron
Add the Hyacinth flower; the potion should stop glowing
Allow the potion to steep while you collect the frog slime. For best results, do not harvest the frog slime until this time!
Add the slime and a sprig of peppermint and bring to boiling, stirring in alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirs once again.
When the potion thickens and turns deep indigo, add the glumbumble fluid.
Continue stirring in a clockwise motion until the solid ingredients have all disintegrated and the potion is a thick, syrupy indigo fluid that smells of lavender, warm sugar and sweet mint. There should be a light purple-pink sheen in the steam that rises from the potion.
Take a sample of your potion and bottle it into a phial.
Ian took the offered bottle of liquid and felt his stomach settle down. That hopefully would enable him to finish a potion for Caleb.
He shook his head as AJ called him creme puff. He noticed that Angel seemed to be working on her antidote and so that was good.
Ian went back to working on his potion.
When the steam started rising, He added the Valerian root he had minced and began shredding the Skullcap. He added the drachm of calendula pollen and stirred three times to the right. When that was done, he began adding the shredded skullcap. After a bit, he'd finished it and then started slowly stirring clockwise again. It was a bit challenging not to hurry but he knew that would keep the liquid from getting warmer. When he saw the steam, he checked his notes and then the potion. It appeared to be lightly blue-green. Good. On track!
Ian felt himself calming as he worked. He had to get this done. He gathered up the asphodel and turned his head when he saw the bright blue flash.
Picking up the hyacinth, he placed it in the glowing liguid and noticed the glowing diminishing until it was gone. All this time, Ian's head was still a little throbby and his stomach was now just roiling, but it still felt like he needed to throw up a little. He kept pushing on.
Ian shook his head as he noticed this particular note about the frog slime For best results, do not harvest the frog slime until this time! He had collected the slime too early. He'd have to go get more. He left his potion to steep and gather more frog slime. Bringing it back to his station, he added it to the potion and then dropping in the peppermint sprig.
He started stirring again, first clockwise and then counter and then alternated slowly trying to get the liquid to boil. He felt the liquid go from a thin, soupy mixture to one that was more in line with a thicker chowder. Watching the color, he noted it went from light blue to a darker, richer color until it was in between bright blue and black to a pretty indigo color.
He finally added the glumbumble fluid and stirred until he was sure that the solid ingredients were completed dissolved. He leaned over it and it smelled a bit of a sweet flower. He leaned back to let light flow through the steam and was pleased that the steam was pinkish.
He took out a ladel, cleaned it and added the potion into a vial. Corking the bottle, he walked over to Professor Culloden and waited for a verdict. Standing there in the queue, Ian weaved a little as he still felt sick to his stomach. He hoped Caleb would get an antidote brewed quickly.
Angel looked over at Benny as she winked at him to show him that she hadn't forgotten about him after all it had been a few minutes since they had last spoken and that was just way too long... how was she supposed to get through the rest of this potion without spending time with The Hunk.
Angel looked at her notes... as she once again thought about Benny and her but this time they were just totally spending time all alone without anyone there.
"Scourgify!" Angel used her wand and did the wand movement she knew the first thing she needed to do was clean up the cauldron... she wondered if the spell would work on her best dress... she wanted to look stunning for The Hunk when she next saw him.
"Aguamenti!" Angel then did the wand movement and smiled as she thought about Benny again... boy he was totally the best catch in the sea and she wanted him all to herself. She remembered the potion just in time so it didn't over flow now onto the next part.
She started to add the Wiggentree twigs. "One for Benny.... Two for The Hunk... Three for Hotty... Four for Miss Benny." Angel watched as the potion turned Green awesome... though she wanted it to turn into a dragon that would impress The Hunk right.
Angel then started to stir the potion... she stirred and stirred until the potion turned Orange... she hoped her sister would thank her for this because at the minute her sister was madly in love with her public enemy number one.
Angel looked at the next thing she needed... she quickly added the castor oil she stopped as soon as the potion turned blue... boy this was torture it was going to take forever before she was back with her cutie-pie.
Angel stirred and stirred and stirred seriously could this potion be done already she wanted to get back to daydreaming about Mr Handsome... The Hunk... The one and only Benny. Angel stopped as soon as the potion turned purple.

Add four Wiggentree twigs, or until the potion turns green. Stir until the potion turns orange. Add castor oil until the potion turns blue. Stir until the potion turns purple.

Norah finally managed to tear her eyes away from the pretty steam to look at the next step. Root of asphodel! She had that! The second year paused her "Calendula" song for a moment to cry "Fouuund it!" and pour 1/2 a drachm of the powder into her cauldron with some "Wooosh" sound effects. WOAH! PRETTY LIGHT! Her bounces got even bigger at the sight of the flash. She watched in awe as she added the Hyacinth flower and SUDDENLY THE LIGHT WAS GOOONE. "Nooo come back light! I love you light!" She loved ALLL the beautiful things, uh huh! Oh well, there were lots more beautiful things! She crossed a few steps off her notes with a flourish of her quill and a loud, "Yippee!" at each line. Time to get the frog slime!
Norah began her prance-y marching progression to the store cupboards, shouting "Frog slime! Frog slime! Froggy Woggy Frog Slime!" By the time she had returned, her frog slime song hd worn off and she joined in with Brooklyn singing "Calendula!" once more. She couldn't WAIT to venture to all the OTHER beautiful places like this one so they could spread happiness with their band! Yayayayay! She added the frog slime plus a sprig of peppermint just like her notes said, and poked the heat with her wand to make the potion boil. "Hiiii bubbles! Hi HI HI!" Bubbles just looked so HAPPY like she felt! She grinned blissfully at her bubbly potion and cleaned off her stir stick before sticking it into the cauldron, this time switching her song to "One stirry stir the clock-y way aaaaand back around. One stirry stir the clock-y way aaaaand back around!" Once the potion had turned a dark blue-y purple, she leaned over to Brooklyn's cauldron to make sure that's what indigo was, and then removed her stir stick.
Looking at the next step, Norah collapsed into giggles. "TIME FOR THE GUMBUMBLE! Glumbumbleglumbumbleglumbumble!" She measured out her GLUMBUMBLE and added it to her cauldron before cleaning off her stir stick for the bazillionth time and putting it back into the potion. "Stirry stir the clock-y way! Stirry stir the clock-y way! AND THEN IT WENT GOOPY. Hehehe! She grinned at her thick potion and began to bounce more intensely. Almost finished! And BOOM there was pinkish purple-y steam! Ooooh! Very pretty steam. She stood staring at the steam, still humming the calendula song under her breath when she saw Brooklyn was taking her potion to the professor man! "PROFESSOR MAN SIR, I'M FINISHED WITH MY GLUMBUMBLE POTION. PROFESSOR MAN SIR!" she shouted, skipping over in his direction. Throwing her arms around his middle, she repeated her words over and over again. "Come see my pretty potion! It's soooo pretty! YAYAYAY!"

Mince the Valerian root and add it to the potion.
Add calendula pollen, stirring three times clockwise.
Shred the skullcap lengthwise, and slowly add it to the potion
Bring the temperature back up until the steam is rising again, stirring clockwise slowly. It should be a light blue-green at this stage
Professor's note: Remember your intent-- concentrate on being calm and infusing your work with a calm, deliberate result.
Add asphodel -- you should see a bright blue flash of light in your cauldron
Add the Hyacinth flower; the potion should stop glowing
Allow the potion to steep while you collect the frog slime. For best results, do not harvest the frog slime until this time!
Add the slime and a sprig of peppermint and bring to boiling, stirring in alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirs once again.
When the potion thickens and turns deep indigo, add the glumbumble fluid.
Continue stirring in a clockwise motion until the solid ingredients have all disintegrated and the potion is a thick, surupy indigo fluid that smells of lavender, warm sugar and sweet mint. There should be a light purple-pink sheen in the steam that rises from the potion.
Take a sample of your potion and bottle it into a phial.
Ninety five minutes was a loooooooooooong time to wait. So Toby just whiled away the time by staying there and grinning around at the room and at Eden and occasionally skipping off around the classroom but always returning again and HUGGING EDEN whenever he did. Because hi. Hi Eden. Hello friend. HAPPYYYYYYYY.
He was totally oblivious, TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS, to Eden's potionmaking process, which was probably a little unwise. He'd be drinking it, and it might be a good idea to make sure all was well with it, but he had BOUNDLESS trust and faith in everyone around him. Everyone. Everyone in this room was all golden and glowy and Tobias loved and trusted and adored and saw brilliance in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM.
It was... such a beautiful thought too, and... and...
Sniff.
"I'm just..."SNIFF."So happy." As he spoke, Toby brushed away a tear from his eye, and then, overwhelmed with SO MANY GOOD EMOTIONS, he started PROPERLY crying, happy sobs. BOY OH BOY.
Tobias, still beaming but sobbing, turned to Eden for a hug and buried his face in her shoulder so nobody could SEE HIM CRYING in case they thought he was being SAD.
"Everything is so... wonderfuuuuuuUUULLL." Sobbing. Bawling. Right into Eden's shoulder.
Eden didn't notice Toby bouncing around the room. In fact, she was trying hard NOT to mess up this potion. She was almost sure she already had since it smelled badly--like--eggs or something. Gross. She added the two spoonfuls of the poppyseeds and suddenly--what was happening--
Toby was back. And he was being...Toby. A weird Toby. A crying, sniffling Toby. Eden bit her lip and reached out to pat him in comfort--when he SNUGGED HER HARD AND CRIED. ON HER SHOULDER. Oh my. He was...his head..her shoulder...Eden sighed and pat his hair. She was too tired to deal with this normally--actually, normally, she'd have probably cried with him--but right now she just pet his hair.
"Toby...Toby Tempus...it's okay..." she said softly, reaching around him to drop in the Glumbumble? Bumblehumble--Humberbumper---liquid. Whatever it WAS called, eh? "It'll be okay Toby--look--we're all wonderful--just like you--" She didn't want to rush him but she was TIRED and she wanted to be CURED. So she could properly help Toby out of this crying sesh, yeah? But she didn't want to rush him--maybe the bloke needed a good cry right now?
SIGH.
With one hand she pat Toby, and with the other she grabbed her wand and drug it around the rim of the cauldron, like the directions said....what was the spell? "Tr-tr-trifist--lucus-----" was that right? She nearly slumped over again. The spell zooooomed to her cauldron and turned the potion a VERY bright pink...
That....didn't look right. O__o

Zeke was SUPER distracted still. Between monitoring the love of his LIFE, his partner and working on his antidote, his head didn't know where it was or what he was doing. Fingers crossed he didn't make any mistakes.
But oh? Kace felt sick? Throwing up sick? "That's what my Princess has," he mused, looking back at his Slytherin Princess Wife Bride TO-BE! .. "I recon you took a common poison, which is what she must have taken too. I'll get you both healed!" he said triumphantly.
According to his notes, he needed to crush his bezoar in the mortar and pestle thingy... and so he went about doing that, but not before cleaning it first. "Scourgify." Once his utensils were clean, Zeke added the bezaor and started pounding away at it, crushing it to a fine powder. It took a bit of elbow grease, but at least it was something he could do while admiring his BELOVED.
And oh gosh!!!... SHE SAW HIM TOOO!!!! <333333333
She had such pretty eyes, and skin, and lips, and hair, and eyebrows... WHICH MOVED! Was that a COME HITHER sign? He couldn't tell, but his head was clear enough to know he was supposed to be brewing his antidote. Instead, he spared her a wink and blew her a KISS. He'd save her!... and Kace. Ahem.

Returning to his notes, he double checked the method and ingredients, and then examined his bezoar powder. It was ready to go! He took his measuring instrument - that was cleaned too, and then he carefully took four measures of the substance and added it to his cauldron.
Next he took his jar of standard ingredient herb mix, and measured out two lots of it, then added those to his cauldron too.
Was it just him, or was this a little wishy washy airy fairy?
Lighting a fire beneath his cauldron he brought it up to a medium heat for five seconds, counting very carefully. And then with his Larch wood wand, he gave it a wave over his cauldron. Lalalalalal... binding magic... lalalala...
"Don't worry, Kace, I'll have you and her better in no time." Yes her, because he couldn't and wouldn't let HER suffer either.
Once that was done, he left his cauldron to brew, setting a timer to go off in 40 minutes as directed for his Pewter cauldron.
WAIT!
He took a common posion? Well of course just his luck. He took the potion that would cause him to have such bad side effects. He held his hand out to prevent himself from throwing up. He was glad Zeke was gonna make the potion because he felt horrible. Whyyy did his head hurt sooo bad!? He put his hands to his temples to massage them. Even his hands couldn't stop shaking. This was gonna be fun to make his antidote for Zeke. "Thanks Zeke..." he croaked when he was gonna make him all better. He knew what he had the signs were SO clear. He smirked and copied it down his notebook...

Once he copied it down, he got the ingredients. It was SO hard to walk with his head pounding and his hands shaking. He grabbed the ingredients and put them into his arms to prevent them from falling. As he reached his desk, he got his cauldron and began to clean it. "Scourgify!" he said and cleaned it out. He then added some water to begin the potion, "Aguamenti!" and his cauldron was all cleaned.
Then he heard the Professor congratulated Zeke on making his antidote for common poisons. He smiled and was glad the little lion got on O. Now onto creating his antidote for the love sick puppy. But then he felt Zeke's presence behind him and he held his vial for him. THANK MERLIN! He couldn't deal with these side effects!
He took the vial and nodded and said, "Bottom's up!" and then took a swig of the anitdote and he squinted his eyes from the taste but as soon as the potion hit his stomach, he felt soooo much better! "Woaahh Zeke....thank you! I feel soo much better!" he told him honestly. "You didn't kill me which is a plus.." he winked and smiled.

Dad Culloden was beginning to approve antidotes? Eeep! Adi had totally forgotten to tell the man he was done. Well, you couldn't blame him. Not when he was still feeling tired and his girlfriend was all over another guy.
Adi wearily raised his head from his textbook where he had been resting it. "Professor...I'm done with my antidote too. Can Benny have it now?'' How was Benny getting along anyway? Was Angel still all lovey dovey with him? Adi peered over at his best friend. Heh. He seemed to be moving along with the antidote. Finally.
Time to make the potion. He got all his ingredients and steps down. He was even feeling better thanks to Zeke's antidote! He was smiling and was ready to take on the final! He read the first step of directions. He needed to add four wiggentree twigs. He nodded and add them in...
1...*plop* 2...*plop* 3...*plop*..4
And then he slowly saw his potion turn green. He smiled and was glad the potion was working the way it was supposed to. Next step was to stir untill the potion turned orange. But what way..? He assumed clockwise so he stirred that was and soon enough the potion turned orange! WHEW! Good call Lecium. Good call on that one. He needed to add the castor oil and he popped the lid and added it in till he saw it slowly turn blue. He was getting somewhere with this. Back to stirring and he stirred it until it turned purple till a couple of stirs. This were going well today. Now to get the gurdyroot and he popped it in there and the potion turned red. He beamed and added the one set of wiggentree twigs and the gurdyroot and the potion like it said would turn purple. Now to leave the potion to simmer for a bit. He looked at his potion waiting for it to change colors.
"BENNY-BOO DEAREST!!!!" Angel shouted over to him. "Were going to spend time together at lunch time right?" Angel was hoping he would say yes. "Please... your the love of my life... the one and only." Angel giggled as she gave her signature puppy dog eyes.
Angel looked back to her potion. She really wanted to sit on his lap at the moment that would be the best thing ever and she was going to do it one day soon.
Angel started to add the extract of Gurdyroot and she continued to add it until the potion turned red, she wished that everything would be done already this was eating into her Benny-Boo time.
"Cutie-Pie don't forget me whilst your working, I'm thinking of you all the time." Angel then went back to adding the wiggentree twings. she then added extract of Gurdyroot and did that until the potion turned purple. Seriously why was the potion turning so many colours she wanted to spend time with Benny.
Angel let the potion simmer until it turned red... she hoped her sister would be grateful for this because she was totally going gaga over Ian and she was actually starting to feel sorry for AJ... but Benny Boo was totally waiting for her so back to work she went.
Angel added some more gurdyroot extract until it turned green, she was getting fed up with all this backwards and forwards with the colour of the potion... could it just please make up her mind.
Angel stirred the potion until it turned orange... she was really, really, really getting fed up with all these steps. "Professor can't we just spend time with our love ones... this is taken way to long and my Benny Boo is waiting for me." Angel looked over at him and waved.
Angel added the seven more wiggentree twigs that she was instructed too and she allowed it to simmer until the potion turned pink.. she looked at her note book and smiled. "Professor I've done my antidote." Angel looked at him. "Can I give it too my sister." Angel hoped she could... it would totally save AJ any more embarrassment. "And then can I go and just sit by Benny and stare into those lovely eyes of his.

Man. He was so busy. Zahra wouldn't have had two steps done on her own. To date, she'd yet to successfully finish a potion in this class. All the steps were overwhelming and apparently each step had to be EXACTLY right or it was wrong.
"Uhhmmm..... not really," Zahra settled in for snuggling. She wasn't exactly the ROMANTIC type, but snuggling next to the cauldron fire was alright. "I'd rather go... do stuff. Like dig holes." She turned her face to look up at him and smile, "You could read to me though. Your voice is nice now that you're using it. But also your lips, so could just use those too." Pause. "Too bad we don't have any marshmallows right now..."
The 10 minutes were spent looking into Zahra's eyes...with some talking. She'd mentioned that she wasn't a fan of reading...AND that she preferred digging holes. Dirt? Gabe's nose scrunched up...and he paused...trying to understand how someone couldn't love reading...OR someone he loved...not loving reading. Heh.
See, it was a favored activity. When he wasn't involved in doing piles of homework, he read. Poe and Frost, mostly. Language books, too. He LOVED reading about the ones he didn't know...To better understand and hopefully add them to his language queue.
...but yes. YES. He could agree about reading being slightly romantic. "Maybe. Things like The Winter's Tale, The Tempest..." Any Shakespeare, in his opinion. The comedies and tragedies, included. Comedies could be considered romantic, right?

When everything appeared to be finished...and the potion had taken on a pale pink color, he removed it from the fire....and assisted it in cooling. He wanted to be done, thanks.

He fumbled with his glasses and smiled a little at his potion's partner. "Marshmellows are pretty good. Are you familiar with s'mores?" Everyone should've been but it was hard to know about some people. With different backgrounds and different sorts of parents...
...........He was especially scatter-brained at the moment. Heh. What?
Finally, Gabe was putting the potion into two crystal vials...and politely held one out to Zahra...with a smile. "Bottom's up?"

Oh, OH THERE HE WAS. Dot bounced around and when Culloden got close enough, she threw his arms around his middle and squeezed him. "Sophie and I are best friends, and you're her best friend, and now you and I are other other best friends. I'm already cool, because Sophie said so." And so he should like her best now too. Dot took his hand and tugged him over to look at her potion.
"What makes you happy, Mr. Professor Sir?"
Dot couldn't stop dancing around on her tiptoes, happily peering into her cauldron and then looking at what Sophie was doing. OH. Her notes, right. Riiiiiight right right. She turned down her heat and glanced very briefly at the clock, and then it was back to dancing. For Sophie. "You can't tell him anything. He doesn't want to be told. He wants to be the boss of him." He'd forgive her eventually, right? RIGHT? "How do you make someone unmad at you?"
OH AGAIN. She was sposed to do somethin', right? Dot pulled over her book again and looked at the next instruction. Re'em blood. Salamander blood. GROSSSSS. "This potion is so yucky." Those were supplies she had to retrieve from the professor's stores again, and Dot skipskipskipped up to get the portion of each. They did NOT go in the potion, though, nope, and she was lucky she realized that just in time. "Ooooops," Dot did a bootie shake and put the bloods into a clean bowl instead, and then there was stirring. Clockwise? Counter... what? She made her body into a giant clock and ticked her hands in a circle to figure out which was which. "FIVE TIMES AROUND THE CLOCK AND FIVE TIMES BACK. SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT. That is not what it is all about, Sophie." Nope.
"CRUSH THE GRIFFIN CLAW DORS. CRUSH the GRYFFINDORS." They had those in their kits, yeah? Dot did more bootie shaking in time with the claw crushing, and then OHMERLINTHETIME, she dumped the blood mix and the crushed claw into the potion all at once.
"Sophie. Did you miss me when you didn't know me yet?"

Oh, Sophie WOULD clean her mess up once this class was over.
There was some nervous laughter on Sophie's part when Dot and Culloden were talking together, and she raised a hand in protest at what the professor was saying. "She proved it to me, sir. Y'can take my word for it since we're best friends." HEHEHEHE. Would he play along and make Dot the happiest kid in the world?
Averting her gaze once again from Culloden's looks - he couldn't be mad at her for thinking on her feet when her body was working against her, could he? - she turned back to her potion and peered at the textbook to get back on track. Riiiiiight, to let the potion steep and gather the frog slime. She could do that just fine, but it DID make her laugh that the instructions so specifically said slime from the belly of a sprightly frog. Hahaha. Who even came up with that? Didn't matter, but she thought the person was hilarious, as she extracted a particularly plump, dead but well-kept frog from her kit with her cleaned gloved hands - how was she supposed to know if it had once been energetic and lively? - and turned it onto its underside, poking its belly a few times before taking a clean cutting knife and slicing it right down the middle. The moment she did, it oozed and she made a face because she hadn't expecting the slime to come out THAT easily, AND she didn't expect there to be SO MUCH slime in its belly. Frogs were super weird, weren't they? She snatched up a petri dish to collect it in and, knowing how much the dish itself already weighed, she subtracted that amount from the sum including the frog slime when she weighed it on her scale until there was an ounce of frog slime collected.
Scraping the frog slime into the cauldron with a small sigh - she wanted to be done and be back to full strength and NOT feel so sore just lifting her hands over the cauldron - she kept an eye on Dot. Poor girl and her Dima woes. "I don't think you can make anyone do anything, but... y'can... I dunno, apologize and maybe make 'em a gift - like his favorite food or somethin' and put some time and effort into stuff so he knows how much you care. I could help you in the kitchens sometime, if you'd like." In went all the frog slime, and she cleaned the petri dish and vanished the frog remains right away to get the smell of frog guts out of there. She had to clean her gloves, then, too, and the countertop and she actually went ahead and cleaned everything necessary at once with quick casts of, "Scourgify." Made her feel a lot safer, and she added the sprig of peppermint and raised the flame under the cauldron with a lot more confidence that everything was going well. This was the point at which she realized Tobes was over there BAWLING his eyes out, but from what she could catch of it, they were happy tears. Ohhhh, Merlin. Good thing he had Eden there to give him hugs.
While she alternated her stirring of clockwise and counterclockwise, awaiting the boiling of her Calming Draught and not realizing it was getting a little easier to stir now that the poison's effects were growing weaker, Soph couldn't help but laugh at the Slytherin's antics. Shake it all about? Crush the Gryffindors? Did she MISS HER WHEN SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HER YET? Haaaaaahahahhaha. Soph was trying REALLY hard to be super polite and not make the girl feel bad, but she could not keep from laughing in very high spirits. What a hoot, this kid was. There was no way Soph was going to let her take the antidote, not when she was this funny. Hahaha. "I absolutely did. Didn't know what I was missing in my life. We're gonna be best friends forever now, you and me."
She might have really meant that, too.
As the potion came to a rolling boil, Soph peeked at the textbook to make sure she wasn't forgetting everything - nope, looked good. The concoction was thick now, and had successfully turned from that lighter green-blue color to what she thought fit the description pretty well as deep indigo. In went the four drops of glumbumble fluid, and she resumed stirring JUST clockwise this time, PUMPED for the solids to disintegrate fully and for the appropriate colored steam to rise from the potion.
Perfectly brewed potions, cool people, and my family. The words were still ringing in her ears as she stirred, and... a giddy smile was spreading across her face at the the thought: no wonder she was Culloden's favorite. She brewed perfect potions all the time, she was SUPER cool, and... she was like family.
Beaming stupidly to herself, she was brought back to the present situation and stopped stirring when she realized the potion was thick, syrupy, and indigo, AND she could spy the faint pink-purple sheen in the steam that was rising from it. Her hand high in the air - which it still hurt to do, and her arm gave a slight involuntary tremor at the movement and energy she was putting forth to do it, but it wasn't unbearable anymore - she was still grinning like a fool in her attempt to get Culloden's attention. "M'done, professor. Calming Draught
Use/Effect:
To calm and soothe the drinker
Ingredients:
1 pint water
6 drops fluxweed oil
Inner membrane and fluid from 3 bloodroot stems
1 Valerian root, minced
1 drachm calendula pollen
3 skullcap leaves
1/2 drachm powdered root of asphodel (scant)
1 Hyacinth flower, whole
1 ounce slime from the belly of a sprightly frog
1 sprig of peppermint
4 drop glumbumble fluid (take care not to overuse!)
Instructions:
**STAGE 1**
Add 6 drops fluxweed oil to warm water.
Split the bloodroot stems lengthwise with your knives and scrape out all fluid and fibrous material from inside the stems. Crush with mortar and pestle into a fine paste and add to the cauldron.
Stir slowly until a light steam rises from the cauldron, alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirring.
**STAGE 2**
Mince the Valerian root and add it to the potion.
Add calendula pollen, stirring three times clockwise.
Shred the skullcap lengthwise, and slowly add it to the potion
Bring the temperature back up until the steam is rising again, stirring clockwise slowly. It should be a light blue-green at this stage.
Professor's note: Remember your intent-- concentrate on being calm and infusing your work with a calm, deliberate result.
Add asphodel -- you should see a bright blue flash of light in your cauldron
Add the Hyacinth flower; the potion should stop glowing
Allow the potion to steep while you collect the frog slime. For best results, do not harvest the frog slime until this time!
Add the slime and a sprig of peppermint and bring to boiling, stirring in alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirs once again.
When the potion thickens and turns deep indigo, add the glumbumble fluid.
Continue stirring in a clockwise motion until the solid ingredients have all disintegrated and the potion is a thick, syrupy indigo fluid that smells of lavender, warm sugar and sweet mint. There should be a light purple-pink sheen in the steam that rises from the potion.
Take a sample of your potion and bottle it into a phial.

Just taking a minor break to get psyched up about the trip to the cupboard, yeah? Nothing to worry about. Maddie could TOTALLY handle this. Y'know, even IF she felt like staying in her seat was the SAFER option. The more COMFORTABLE option. The option she liked BEST.

Seriously, the Gryffindor seemed more eager to finish the antidote now and the second year wasn't about to distract her by sending her on errands, even if she DID want Cinnamon to make the trip instead. She'd suck it up for the sake of the group,

Rising slowly, she shuffled her way over to the cupboard with her notebook under her arm and got herself some of the bloodroot stems. She'd ALSO made the decision to get any other ingredients she could carry in case she was out of anything else. Only when her arms were full and unbearably heavy did she return to her station.
After cleaning a knife, Maddie split the three bloodroot stems right down the center of each. She then carefully scraped all the junk from the stems into her already cleaned mortar and pestle. It took her a bit of time to do and she was worried about not being finished by the time class ended BUT she was honestly going as fast as she could. When she'd finished with the roots, she cleaned her knife and set it aside. Then she crushed, and she crushed, and she broke the stuff down. Her hand was pretty much useless by the time she was done and she was ready for ANOTHER rest but the paste she'd made WAS added to the cauldron.
Cleaning a stirrer, the second year added it to the potion and began to stir, going from stirring clockwise to counterclockwise with each go. The motion was soothing and it was enough to make her eyes droop once again but she wasn't going to fall asleep, NOPE. ...Or at least she HOPED not. Her arm, though? It was growing more tired with each circle around the potion. Surely the steam would be rising so--OH! YES. YES! Steam.
Maddie had never been good at mincing things and she FIGURED it would be hard to do it now given her current state but she DID manage an OKAY minced Valerian root with a clean knife. The teeny tiny pieces were added into her cauldron and then it was time for a nap calendula pollen. Calendula was a marigold, right? Hufflepuff had one of THOSE. She mused on this while measuring and adding one drachm of the pollen to her mix.
Pausing to rub at her tired eyes, the thirteen year old glanced over at Cinna to see how she was doing. "Potion coming along?" She HOPED so. Her own was...going. Whether it'd be done in time or not was a whole different question.
Skullcap leaves next. Three. She counted them lazily and then began to shred. More work, more exhaustion. Maddie was struggling.
After the shredded Skullcap remains were added, the thirteen year old turned up the heat under her cauldron and then cleaned the stirrer once more. Then dipping it in, she began to stir clockwise. Luckily she was meant to stir slowly because that was really all she could manage at THIS point in time. Now WHERE was that steam? ...And was it SUPPOSED to be that color? Hm.

Man, this professor was super nice. He came all the way over to when she and Ian were working to not only clean the vomit that had her covered, but MOST importantly to give something to Ian that would make him feel better. "Thank you SO much, professor." AJ hopped up out of her chair to give him a hug. He really did deserve it. AJ cut her eyes back to Ian. "Don't worry, you are still my true love." Didn't want him getting the wrong idea or anything.
Now that things seemed to be settling down AJ skipped over to the cupboard, while humming under her breath, to get all of the supplies that she needed. One back at her seat she cleaned alllll of her equipment. That was one little step that she would never be able to forget.
Glancing back at her notes, she got straight to work. Water was added into her cauldron. Four Wiggentree twigs were added. The potion was a nice green color so she seemed to be on the right track so far. She took a moment to gaze into Ian's eyes. It was on her notes after all. AJ stirred until the potion turned orange. More love for Ian. He really was the best looking redhead to even walk this earth. Castor oil was added until the potion turned a nice blue looking color. AJ took a deep breath in. Ahhh, Ian.

It had a nice ring to it.
He may have just been standing and staring, but he was terrible with computing this stuff, his head was a little fuzzy actually, come to think of it.
Zeke only came-to when he saw her consume the contents of one of the vials, he didn't care which it was, so long as she was better. "Better?" he manged to ask, wide hazel eyes looking up at her.
Zhenya almost found herself laughing, the little guy just froze. But she hoped he wouldn't be TOOO embarrassed. That wouldn't be good. And then he looked like he was about to say something, and she looked at him expectingly but all he said what… Zhenya. She smiled at him, he was very cute! Even if it was all the effects of the potion, she wanted to give him a squeeze cuddle, the kind her big brother gave him when she did something he thought was cute. But, she didn't want to make him feel 'cute'. Maybe not until the effects had worn off and he was himself again.
As soon as she had consumed the potion, her head cleared. She hadn't realised JUST HOW MUCH her head was pounding. And her nausea went away. Just *pop* vanished. She didn't feel terribly week and tired anymore. She felt much better! "I feel… I feel REALLY good! So much better," she said, her voice springing back to life, some colour coming back to her face, and a smile that actually reached her eyes, and not just a half smile. "Have… have you had yours yet?" she asked him.
As he waited for his potion to simmer, he slowly saw it turning red and jumped up and began to work on his next set of steps. He looked at his notebook just to be sure. He skimmed to the last couple of steps...

Alright he needed to add some more Gurdyroot and spilled it in and saw the potion turn green. He smiled and was glad it was all turning out right. It helped he was finally feeling better after taking Zeke's potion. He needed to stir the potion till it turned orange. He took his wooden spoon and stirred it till it turned orange. He looked for his Wiggentree twigs and added some more. He counted just to be sure..

One he plopped them all in, he allowed the potion to simmer and he noticed it turned pink. That was the last step right!? Thank merlin! He could now called the Professor over and check his potion. He raised his hand and called out, "Ermm Professor can you come over and check my love potion antidote?" He hoped he did well. He thought he did but it was up to the Professor to determine his grade.
Angel pouted as the Professor said that she wasn't allowed to stare into her true love eyes, that was really bad she really wanted to do something cool and memorable for her beautiful boyfriend but she was scared of the Professor murdering her if she did what she wanted to do.
Angel went over to her sister, she hoped that her sister would thank her for this but she had a feeling she would be hearing a lot about this if she remember anything that had happened with Ian... she could see her sister actually washing for a week and brushing her teeth for a month.
"Hey AJ..." Angel smiled at her sister. "You need to drink this." Angel looked at her sister. "It's your favourite." Angel handed the potion to herself. "It will make you feel better." Well it would or it would make her feel sick with the through of what she had said to Ian.

Cinna turned to look at Maddie again. "Yeah, I'm still working." She could carry her over to the cupboard so that she could get her ingredients or she could go and carry her ingredients back for her. Maybe. But it seemed like she had it under control now. And more awake.
Okay anyway back to her antidote. She had to use the untoasted dragonfly thoraxes. She picked them up and started to add them to her potion...

Now that those were in there. She wanted and heated up the potion until it changed to blue again. This potion really liked to change colors didn't it? Smiling, ugh her cheeks hurt from smiling to much. She was so ready to be back it a normal happy and not this way overboard too happy stuff.
Now she had to add the three flying seahorses. Why were they flying seahorses? Shouldn't they be in the sea or were they flying around? So many questions about this little creature. She picked them up one at a time and added them in.

And another another heat up. Until it turned to green. She waited for the last time for the color of the potion to change. Once it changed to green the last thing she had do was add an ingredient of her choice. Smiling at Maddie again, she nodded too "Yep, I just need to add one more thing. What about yours? How is it coming?"
Mmmmm she still was sure what she was going to use yet. She was thinking about some of Maddie's hair. Maybe? Nah she would be nice. But then she remembered that she has a cinnamon stick in with her potions stuff. Didn't know why she had one with her potions stuff. So why not use it. She probably wouldn't need it for anything.
So she added the cinnamon stick. Drop! And she was DONE. WHOOP WHOOP. HAPPY DANCE. Since she was done. She poured it into a vial and headed up to professor Culloden. "I'm done..... I think." Big happy-ish because she was done. She held out the vial. Big smiles. Her face was so going to get stuck like this at this rate. But she was really happy to find out how she did.

Add one measure of doxy eggs (3 eggs), then heat until the potion turns pink
Add 20 toasted dragonfly thoraxes until potion turns red (might not take all 20)
Heat until the potion turns blue
Add the remaining 20 toasted dragonfly thoraxes until the potion turns silver (might not take all 20)
Heat until the potions turns red again
Add the remaining 3 measures of doxy eggs (9 eggs)
Add the 10 untoasted dragonfly thoraxes, then heat until the potion turns blue again
Add 3 flying seahorses, then heat until the potion turns green
Add the remaining ingredient
