Water balloons? Caleb perked up in his seat. Now THIS was something fun! That was saying something too, since muggle studies was NEVER fun. As the class began to run around, hunting those balloons, he jumped up and joined the fight as well.

One bounced past him, and he leaped at it like it was an escaped bludger on the Quidditch pitch. He missed, but it didn't bounce TOO far away from him so he was able to jump on it again with a successful second lunge. BOOOM! Take that balloon!

Jessiqua 11-23-2014 10:22 PM

Zhenya had recovered from the shock. She had stood there for about a minute, somehow not getting struck by a balloon, and probably appeared to be frozen. She started moving slowly away from all the action, but saw that everyone was having a lot of fun. Torn between her fear of being frozen again - what if it brought back all her memories and fears and she had a panic attach in front of all the other students? But… what if she didn't? She would have enjoyed this before… before the incident. So why wouldn't she enjoy it this time?

She slowly decided to walk the other way; towards the action.

Another balloon came pelting towards her and she managed to duck and avoid it. Well, there would be a chance to catch it soon… She neared herself up towards the goals a bit more… bit more… and there was another balloon coming towards her. She held her hands out and caught it! Then she turned towards the goals and threw it towards it.

SPLAT!

It hit the wall, and she wasn't even frozen!!!

DaniDiNardo 11-23-2014 10:27 PM

You could never be too over the castle for compliments, like ever so of course Lex was grinning when she'd heard she'd gotten it right. It was all in the technique--and the unwillingness to be frozen. Kicking just seemed like the fastest way to get to that part.

The beaming was pushed aside however when she saw another water balloon headed right for her. Given the speed it was going at, she could already tell the impact with her hands would send her an instant immobulus and the Gryffindor quickly jumped out of the way, watching it splatter to the ground next to her. Lex wasn't sure if it was the water inside that made you freeze or just the popping but she avoided the splash altogether.

Face forward again she spotted another and ran to meet it, essentially swiping it from the air. Now she knew all the work the broom went through during Quidditch matches. Merlin!

Once again she took aim but this time she waited as someone ran infront of her to make the same shot. Gosh, people these days. Luckily she had some semblance of patience which paid off in another minute when she thwacked another water balloon against the wall by the rectangle.

Holmesian Feline 11-23-2014 10:27 PM

He may have missed on his first attempt to catch a water ballon but it certainly wasn't going to be Benny's only chance as there were still plenty around who seemed all to willing to sacrifice themselves to either freeze him and his fellow students or be smashed against something in an attempt to get one or more into the target zone on the board. He was already doing his best to avoid what he could.

Taking another chance he bit the inside of his cheek and grabbed at a water balloon coming nearby. However he might have been too enthusiastic, or at least stronger then he should have been as he squeezed too hard, the action resulting in the balloon bursting and him both wet and stuck in place. "Great..." he said with a sigh as he set about awaiting the magicked spell to let him go.

DaniDiNardo 11-23-2014 10:41 PM

Don't mind us Benjamin

There were a couple balloons that the Gryffindor ended up dodging for the fact she didn't want to get frozen and have to sit out the whole thing until she thawed. Legit. It was like they were targeting her and she was fully in the zone until she noticed a sudden freezing next to her.

Oh. Benjamin.

Quite curious to know more about this freezing effect, Lex got closer and poked him a few times lightly with her wand. Could he feel that? Was it sorta like Petrificus Totalus where you could still feel it? Or something else?

Interesting....

But he wasn't moving and she had more warm up to do so Lex drifted further from her house mate and found her own little zone again, ready for the next catch!

Lissy Longbottom 11-23-2014 10:53 PM

Caleb had his balloon...so now he had to try and make a goal with it. Making a goal with his FEET, instead of his hands like he was used to, was going to be a challenge but he was confident he could do it. After all, he was Caleb Newell. He had connections to famous athletes in his blood! He could totally do this.

He took aim, dropped the water balloon and kicked it...and watched as it soared over the goal outline and hit above the goal, missing by about three feet.

Oh. Well then.

But then she heard panic which dodging a few waterballoons herself, she made her way over to the young claw;

"Catch and throw... you can do it!" the professor encouraged at the young girl. So please, stop panicking?

When she could move again, Penelope did not stop panicking. The second year Ravenclaw was no longer screaming, but she was trembling and sniffling. Water balloons were still flying around everywhere. She was not going to calm down until she was completely safe from the water balloons.

Was Professor Hadley actually telling her to try to catch a water balloon? Did Professor Hadley know how scary it was just to be here with water balloons flying around the room? Water balloons, or any other things that were flying around and hitting people, terrified her. Penelope had been hit by a water balloon. She was not okay with this activity, and she was certainly not going to try to catch a water balloon. "I don't want to catch and throw," she sniffled. All she wanted to do right now was get away from the water balloons. Penelope was starting to cry. "I don't want to be anywhere near the water balloons." She wanted to get out of here. The activity wasn't fun for her, it was scaring her to death, metaphorically of course.

Felixir 11-23-2014 11:15 PM

Roughly a minute must have past, because Toby could suddenly move again. He took a few steps and stared around, even more confused than before, because that balloon had taken him by surprise. He blinked, still looking for Soph, and this time had the sense to also keep an eye of for any attacking water balloons.

As he turned back to the general fray, Toby realised he was just in time to stop one from freezing him again. He raised one hand and snatched it out of the air, before drawing his arm back and chucking it right at the 'goal' type area again, all in one movement. As the balloon his its target and burst, Tobias smiled to himself, knowing that he couldn't have planned anything quite so smooth if he'd tried, and that it was likely that not a soul would have seen it.

The Hufflepuff darted off, roaming the classroom-turned-gymnasium, still partly looking for Soph and partly watching his own back.

DaniDiNardo 11-23-2014 11:22 PM

While dodging balloons Lex thought of the freezing that would happen if she was to get one popped. The fact Benjamin was completely non-responsive made it clear to her that she wouldn't be taking any chances. Nope. Her darted quickly to the little Ravenclaw that had had a panic attack that one time in Astronomy when Airey made them all run around in bubbles. Was she afraid og circular objects...or magic....? And yes, there was a BIG difference between the two.

Facing forward again, she only narrowly missed a balloon that was coming right at her face. "Whoa!" That was a close one. Nearly had her there for a moment.

Lex straightened in time to see another hurtling toward her, this one she didn't duck to avoid but held out her hands to catch. Kinda made her think of Charms class and how they'd have been able to use Aresto Momentum to slow these suckers down first. Bet that could have done a lot of people some good.

Wasting no time, she squared to the rectangle again and thrust the water balloon through the air with a squishy 'whoosh' sound before the big SPLAT.

Weasley174 11-23-2014 11:36 PM

Alexa here

Angel saw that Benny was frozen and she sighed but then Alexa was poking. "Leave my Benny-Bo....." Angel suddenly stopped herself in time. "I mean Alexa can you please leave Benny alone... I don't think he likes being poked." Angel didn't like anyone poking her boyfriend anyway.

Angel suddenly saw a balloon coming towards her and she kicked it straight into the centre of the goal... she was back in business and she was going to have fun if they were going to play a proper football match... it would be awesome.

......Benny boo....?

The Gryffindor's face contorted in visible disgust at the term of endearment. Of all the things he let himself be called he chose something as pansy ended as Benny boo? Lex shot the boy a look, even if he wasn't unfrozen and probably couldn't see before looking to Angel again. "Right then." Wasn't she like 12 anyway? Merlin, 2nd years these days.

"I did leave him alone, if you'll note the distance between us--" She paused to catch another balloon, careful not to grab at it too hard in case it popped before turning to the younger lion again. "And if he needs his girlfriend defending him over a little harmless poking then I'm starting to worry about him--and the fact you chose him for a boyfriend, but it's none of my business, I suppose."

Seriously, she'd walked away from the boy, why were they discussing this? Not quite sure, she simply shoved the water balloon at the wall, getting rid of a new annoyance she didn't know she had. That actually felt good.

Weird people and their 'love'.

Holmesian Feline 11-24-2014 12:17 AM

Alexa was coming closer to him?

Why?!

Ben found out a moment or two later as he felt the first poke, soon followed by a second and a third. "Stop..." was all he said before Angel stepped up in his defense against the head girl or rather spoke up against her poking. He did his best to not respond to the use of nickname but he couldn't exactly tell anyway. Thankfully the elder lion gave up soon enough and he was left to his waiting.Waiting and hoping nothing else came along.

And watch Angel as she held her own with some nice moves and kicks. Good shot!

He couldn't see Alexa anymore but he could hear her. "I don't need her defending me," he stated in his own defense. But she was being more considerate of a housemate then older Gryffindor was. Poking when he couldn't move. And it was in fact none of her business.

WhittyBitty 11-24-2014 01:55 AM

Only 10 more minutes? Awwwwww, that sucked. Oh well. Lux was excited to see what the next activity would be.

Trying to find a next balloon to hit into the goal area, she did some air kicks. While doing so she couldn't help but overhear Lex talking to Angel's boyfriend. Why did she always have to be rude? There was no need to be mean to Benny, though Angel was standing up for him. Awww, that was sweet; she did the same thing for her Lion.

Shaking her head, Lux turned her attention back to the activity. Her foot connected with a balloon and sent it flying to the wall.

Felixir 11-24-2014 02:01 AM

No sign of her anywhere. Uh. Right.

Despite the fact that he was slightly concerned about the curious case of Sophie Brown, Toby didn't think to worry just yet, as he was a positive guy and she'd probably just gone to take a break, OR she was just out of his eyeline or the time.

OR she was following him.

At that thought, Toby suddenly spun around on the spot, positive he'd catch her out if that WAS the case. But no... no Sophie there either.

What there WAS was TWO BALLOONS headed straight for him. Toby's eyes widened comically in surprise and he gave a strange motion of attempting to jump out of the way and catch a balloon at the same time. The result was that one of the balloons sailed right past and hit the floor a few feet behind him, whereas the second one ended up being knocked off course by his grabby hands and up into the air. Tobias flailed for it again, knocking it higher still, before finally snatching it out of the air on his third try.

Merlin. Errant balloon over here.

ArianaBlack 11-24-2014 04:55 AM

And his hands were out and he was so ready for the catch and he was just standing there waiting and---

CAAAAAAAAAATTTCHHHHH!!! GOAL! Well, not goal yet, but he had caught the balloon without it bursting in his hands, so that was some goal in a sense. Sorta. But uh, now that he had the water balloon he kind of forgot what he was supposed to do with it... So instead of doing anything with it, he started dodging all of the other water balloons come at him.

Must keep this one safe.

Also must not freeze.

And must also figure out what the point of this game was again.

Hera 11-24-2014 08:02 AM

whoa.... :|

The class was ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMING, this Professor always went through things too quick for his liking, so lalalalalalla... he'd just sit and be off in his own little world... lalalalalalala.....

Football, that was Ashley's thing, not his, though he HAD tried a bit to keep up with her when they went to the park. He was a much better spectator though.

He didn't care for the rules, or logistics... none of that, so again he didn't mind tuning out and ignoring what all was being said. At least... he did, until there was talk of water balloons and freezing and catching and kicking. Okay, he'd participate in this bit.

Zeke was up and at 'em when things got started. But he wasn't so crash hot at catching. Not at all. The first went over his head. The second to the person next to him... the third, he got his fingertips to it, but it dropped and broke - missing him by inches.

But then, at long last, SUCCESS! His hands closed around one of the balls/balloons without it popping.

FearlessLeader19 11-24-2014 12:43 PM

Dodging. Dodging was what Adi was doing at TWO balloons came in his direction simultaneously. "Missed me!'' he muttered after them. Phew! It was a good thing he avoided that otherwise he would have been all frozen again.

Moving his attention away from the rogue balloons, the Puffer quickly caught another one. Without wasting a second, he heaved it towards the appropriate wall. Bye- bye, balloon!

Now, was there time for a few more to go bye- bye too?

Daydreamer11 11-24-2014 12:44 PM

So as Jasmine continued to dodge, dip, dive, duck and dodge, she kept her eye on her target ballon. When the balloon got close enough, she grabbed it.......but not too hard. This time though, she decided to throw it. Her last errant throw had to be a fluke. Jasmine knew that her aim was way better than that.

As Jasmine moved around to set up her throw when another balloon came hurtling toward her. It was too close for comfort so she had a decision to make. Right or wrong she had to commit to it. In a split second, Jasmine decided to go for it. Holding one balloon in her left hand, she attempted to catch the second one with her right hand. Somehow, she managed to trap the balloon with her arm and body and not break it. She didn't quite know how she did it.

Winding up, she threw the second balloon toward the goal and nailed it. Then she drop kicked the other balloon. Unfortunately the kick went a little high and missed the goal. Undaunted, Jasmine went after her next balloon.

MudInMyBlood 11-24-2014 01:02 PM

AJ 1, and water balloons 0. It was safe to say that she was in the zone, and so far she had not gotten herself frozen so she was taking that as a good sign. Balloons were everywhere and one came zooming right at her. Not today balloon. AJ caught it in mid air and flung it at the wall. She was proud when it made a direct hit with the wall... not that she really expected anything less. This was her sort of activity after all.

People were ducking, dodging, and getting smacked. AJ was just trying to get as many water balloons to bust as possible. More came whizzing around her head, but none of them were in a good position for her to catch. She was going to have to use a different method.

DaniDiNardo 11-24-2014 01:18 PM

And thus ended that little venture of fun. Sigh.

Lex missed the old lions, the ones that could take a joke and give one too. These were watered down, domesticated cats at most. Just wasn't the same when they got all defensive which didn't help the pansy status. Alexa simply shrugged at Benjamin when he ran to his own defense. She's not the one he was meant to be telling that. He should tell his girlfriend that felt he couldn't take a harmless poke--then again he probably couldn't given the reactions. Another shrug, this one internal.

One month to go, one month then freedom.

The Gryffindor could see another water balloon heading in her general direction to but this she simply side stepped it and let it splatter to the ground like a lot of them were doing.

Eh.

Could they move to the next activity now?

MudInMyBlood 11-24-2014 02:22 PM

So far had gotten no action, and that simply wasn't okay. She had to find one that would give her the opportunity to show everybody that AJ was athletic. Not that it really mattered what everybody thought, but it was still fun to be the best, and have everybody know it as well.

Finally a balloon was hurtling for her, and it was in the proper position. AJ was ready to show the balloon just who was boss. Her foot hiked back... it was coming. In the perfect moment her foot swung forward and made contact. The balloon went flying through the air and smacked into the wall.

Victory was hers. This only made her more pumped. The lion was back looking for more opportunities to kick balloons.

kayquilz 11-24-2014 04:16 PM

*aj hi*

Eden was still feeling SOOO triumphant over hitting the walll with a balloon that she was prettying much still doing a victory dance. Don't mind us. OVER HERE. DANCING. IN VICTORY.

Okay no seriously if she didn't watch out--she would be attacked by an EVIIIIIIL balloon and frozen. ANd not in the fun, Disney related way. She saw Aj make a SPLAT on the wall nearby and she gave her a thumbs up. "YAY AJ!" she clapped for her--and then--SUDDENLY--A balloon was coming RIGHT FOR AJ!

The Ravenclaw hopped over SOOOO FAST and grabbed the balloon before it hit the Gryffindor--but unfortunately, Eden had gripped it too hard--and suddenly, it BURST. All. Over. Her. Hands. Eden FROZE. Like literally. She couldn't move. MERLIN this was uncomfortable. Thank MERLIN it only lasted for a minute because that was awful. Once she could move her arms again she siiiiiighed. "I saved your life. You OWE me--" she was teasing, but she did wink at the girl.

MudInMyBlood 11-24-2014 04:47 PM

Self sacrificing Eden. <3

Here she was kicking the water balloon's butts, and she heard someone cheering her on. See... she was really good at this. AJ turned in the direction of the voice and beamed at Eden. The thumbs up and clapping didn't go unnoticed. The recognition made AJ's heart swell. Annnd Eden was older and cool, and SHE was clapping for AJ. "Thanks." Beams, beams, BEAMS for you.

Then a few things happened really quickly... so quickly that she didn't even get a chance to react. A balloon was coming straight for her, but she was sidetracked and it was going to be a direct hit. Acceptance and disappointment washed over her. It was her own personal goal to manage to not get frozen during the activity.

Eden... She... She... jumped in front of the balloon. Eden sacrificed herself for AJ. Did they just become best friends? That was so nice and cool of the older girl. AJ walked over to the now frozen Eden and hugged her tightly. "That was super awesome of you."

Once she was unfrozen Eden kidded about AJ owing her one. Even though she knew it was a joke, AJ was seriously going to be keeping an eye out for Eden because she really did save her little competitive self. "I got you."

Felixir 11-24-2014 07:32 PM

Errant balloon or not, Toby had caught the thing, and now headed back for the goal area, dodging around the other students and flying balloons until he got a clear shot, aimed for the top left-hand corner aaaaaaaaaaaand-

SPLASH!

Back of the net! Except not really, because there wasn't a net, but STILL. The phrase totally still applied.

Toby set off again, eager to keep moving and warm up, and STIIIIILL keeping an eye out for Sophies and balloons alike, and looking towards Professor Hufflepuff from time to time as well. Warm-ups never usually lasted too long, so maybe it was just a matter of time before they got onto the main activity, which he was hoping was a proper game of football, or at least a chance to kick a ball around.

Weasley174 11-24-2014 08:10 PM

Angel was totally enjoying herself. "This is awesome!" Angel watched as one of the balloons came towards here. She decided it was time to practice her volleying skills. She waited until the last moment before she volleyed it towards the goal...

*Splat*

Angel was totally happy with the result... top corner get in there... now all she needed to do was have a go at bending in free-kicks like some of the pro's could do... it would be great if she could do that.

Expecto-Penguin 11-24-2014 08:15 PM

After being frozen for a few moments he finally could feel the feeling in his legs. The charm was lifted and now he could catch some balloons. He would be stealthier this time. He ducked and dodged a couple of balloons that aimed for his face. They weren't gonna get him this time. He saw one aiming for his stomach and he caught it! He grinned and then he threw it and aimed it for the goal. He saw it going in!

GOAAALLLLL!!!!!!!!

He smiled and then went to go catch some. He was looking around and felt on hit his back. Argghh!! He snapped his fingers and then he was frozen for a bit.

Holmesian Feline 11-24-2014 09:01 PM

So Alexa liked when she could bother someone physically who couldn't respond physically back but all meh when he spoke up against her vocal attacks. Whatever...that was the head girl's issue, not his. His was being frozen, which, when he spotted a water balloon coming right at him he thought was bad. However when he unconsciously tried to move to get away or defend him, Benny found he could in fact move again. First just a little and then the rest of him.

The Gryffindor raised his hands up to grab it since it was too close for him to try to avoid totally. Come on...better luck this time, he silently wished and it worked. Ben fumbled with it for a little while but he managed to keep himself unfrozen and safe while also having something to try against the target of the activity. Yes to him. Now as he moved to enjoy his freedom, he identified where the marking was that Professor Had--Nairne had set up and took aim.

Oooo...so close.

kayquilz 11-25-2014 02:10 AM

Eden had sacrificed herself for AJ. The younger Gryffindor was LUCKY. Once unfrozen, though, the girl smiled over at AJ. "I--" OH HUGS! Eden hugged back and LOOOOVED it. Because hugs were GREAAT! Hehee. She patted her back and quickly let go--"We have to be ON THE PROWL, AJ!" she cried, suddenly.

Balloons--BALLOONS EVERYWHERE.

She was trying her best to NOT get hit with another one--BUUT BUT BUT it was getting harder--and she was out of breath, but she LOVED IT. She had AJ's back, too, yes. She would sacrifice herself AGAIN for AJ, too!

"ACK! WATCH IT, AJ!"

Hera 11-25-2014 07:40 AM

Catching was only one part of the task... kicking/throwing was a different story. Zeke opted to kick, because, well, JUST BECAUSE. Placing the water balloon ball thing on thr ground, he placed the flat of the side of his foot against it, then brought it back, before following through....

....

He kicked it.

It didn't pop.

But it didn't go in the direction he had hoped.

"HEADS!" he called out the second it shot up and to the left of him. Incoming people! INCOMING!!!!!

FearlessLeader19 11-25-2014 02:15 PM

the Little Lion Man's (Zeke) rougue balloon xD

Someone not too far from him was shouting...heads? Adi didn't have time to worry what that was going to happen because it did happen. One moment he was jumping him trying to cease another balloon and the next second he found himself frozen.

He was frozen in an awkward way, too. His left arm happened to be up in the, his eyes concentrating upward also while his right arm was kind of halfway up to his side.

Eeep! Frozen Puffer here again! Who had tossed one of those balloons at him??? Hmph!

Expecto-Penguin 11-25-2014 02:26 PM

After the spell wore off and he was unfrozen, he was determined to make another goal without getting hit in the face of course. He needed a game plan. He saw Zeke and he screamed incoming and Kace looked around quizzically and ducked just in time! He was breathing heavily and was almost frozen yet again...

Bloody Merlin.....

THIS game was getting intense. He needed to get somewhere for cover and fast but how could he was flying balloons everywhere. One was aiming for him yet again and he managed to catch it. HAH! Success!! He was excited he caught it and now he aimed for the goal. He was tempted to kick it but he knew he couldn't. He used his baseball throwing arm and aimed for the goal! It zoomed past students heads and he managed to score yet again! He managed to get two points.

Not bad Lecium.....not bad at all.

Daydreamer11 11-26-2014 12:45 AM

Here came another one. While Jasmine was focused on her target balloon, one flew by and barely missed her. She had seen some of her classmates get frozen and she had no desire to beone the next one. Then, crazy balloon at two o'clock. Jasmine spun and caught the balloon just in time. Taking care that none of her classmates were in the way, she threw it toward the goal. Another score for Jasmine.

Unfortunately, she spent a second too long mentally celebrating her goal and.....SPLAT........beaned in the side by an errant balloon. The thing that Jasmine hadn't wanted to happen did. She was frozen. That was the most annoyingly frustrating thing ever. She had one frozen minute to think about what she had done wrong. Fortunately it didn't last long, but still...... She vowed never to let that happen again.

ArianaBlack 11-26-2014 05:16 AM

So uh, he was still holding the water balloon. And he was still currently trying to outrun/dodge the rest. But there was yet another thing he was still doing.. Still trying to figure out what the heck he was meant to do with this water balloon that's what. In the midst of being frozen and trying to dodge rogue balloons, Zander had completely forgotten the rules of the game all together.

That and the purpose.

Uh, whoops?

Looking around the gymnasium, Zander caught sight of case who had just thrown the ball that the-- OH YEAH! Like football, except not. That's what this game was about. Oooooh. That made LOADS of sense. So all he had to do now was score. Right?

Felixir 11-26-2014 06:19 AM

Once he'd hit his stride, there was really no stopping him. It took a while to get used to running around and trying not to be pelted with those water ballons but he definitely still had a handle on things.

Still no Soph, though, which was... kind of concerning? Maybe? She was DEFINITELY here today, Tobias had totally seen her at the start of the lesson. But whe-

BALLOON.

Instead of flailing this time, Toby grabbed the thing before it could hit him in the face, which was exactly what it would have done had it followed its original trajectory. Without looking to see if it hit its target, Toby through the balloon at the rectangular goal area and continued moving AND looking around.

PhoenixRising 11-26-2014 06:24 AM

*ahem* sorry about not posting sooner =( BUT CONTINUING!

Nearly all the water balloon supply had been exhausted and the few that remained flying around or in student's hands, Josephina quickly vanished upon whistling sharply to regroup the class. "Alright, alright, excellent warmup!"

Pause. "So for your main activity, we will be playing some Football, but we can only have two teams, so here's how its going to work. Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs are one team, Slytherins and Gryffindors will be the other team. Select a goalkeeper for yourselves .... the team who wins is playing for some bonus house gemstones. But I will not give out bonus house points unless you really earn it."

"Take five minutes, plan out your positions. Remember, goalkeeper blocks the shots, forwards are the ones who score, defenders help the goalkeeper in blocking shots, midfielders is the fourth positions which attempt to gain control of the ball from the opposition and pass to the forwards to score. Except for the goalkeeper, all others should NOT use your hands, as doing so will result in a temporary one minute where you cant move."

"Any questions?"

ooc: Purely RP activity. Don't hog the ball. Don't "God-mod" - this is just a game and you don't have to be perfect. Also, even the losing teams will earn some points ; it will be scale based on well-rounded house participation as well as final score. So if one or two people are participating from one team vs ten from the other, that counts against, ok? Questions, ask. This activity shall run to the weekend, most likely but we'll see how it goes ... ^_^

ArianaBlack 11-26-2014 06:28 AM

So still kind of confused about the purpose, the Gryffindor watched the others playing, while still keeping his eyes out for incoming balloons. Okay so uh... Sophie's 'Toberino' just through it at the rectangular thing. Was that the goal? ... It looked like it. Or at least, it was the only other goal like thing in this place.

So with a silent shrug, the Gryffindor followed suit. Aiming directly at the rectangle and smiling as he made the shot and just as he began to jump up in celebrat--

Oof.

And frozen again.

Darn. And just as he became unfrozen, the activity was over. Wait, warmup?? THAT was just a warmup? Uh right. Looking around at his team... Gryffindors and Slytherins, he raised his hand up in the air. "I can be goalkeeper?"

Hera 11-26-2014 06:40 AM

Uh oh................... UH OOHHH...

Zeke watched as if in slow motion as his balloon ball thing went sailing through the air....

.....

SPOILER!!: Kace

Bloody Merlin.....

THIS game was getting intense. He needed to get somewhere for cover and fast but how could he was flying balloons everywhere. One was aiming for him yet again and he managed to catch it. HAH! Success!! He was excited he caught it and now he aimed for the goal. He was tempted to kick it but he knew he couldn't. He used his baseball throwing arm and aimed for the goal! It zoomed past students heads and he managed to score yet again! He managed to get two points.

Not bad Lecium.....not bad at all.

He was for a second pleased it hadn't hit Kace, but the dread that followed came too quick for him to enjoy the relief of his almost-non-mistake.

Gulp.

He was frozen in an awkward way, too. His left arm happened to be up in the, his eyes concentrating upward also while his right arm was kind of halfway up to his side.

Eeep! Frozen Puffer here again! Who had tossed one of those balloons at him??? Hmph!

.......

AND SPPLATTTTT!

....

.....

Whoops.

Zeke's mouth dropped open for a brief moment, but once the shock of it all wore off, he was... amused. So amused that he laughed, out loud.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

"Sorry man!" he called out, giving a gleeful wave to the frozen Puffer. Heheheheeeeeee...

And SPLATTTT... a hit he hadn't been expecting.

Zeke found himself frozen, like his Puffer counterpart, only... his mouth was gaping wide open. No doubt, he looked like an idiot. An unfortunate idiot perhaps.

Felixir 11-26-2014 06:46 AM

Footbaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall. Yessssss.

Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws together? Score. That meant he'd be with Sophie... wherever she was. As he had no questions, Tobias shook his head and regrouped with everyone on what was now his team and looked around.

"I don't mind being goalkeeper, unless someone else wants to," he said to the group at large. "I'm alright at saving goals, but I'd be totally happy with running around and stuff too." He didn't want to, like, claim a position. Really, Toby would be happy anywhere and doing anything. Sooooo he waited to see where other people went before properly claiming a position.

feeheeheeny 11-26-2014 06:51 AM

She heard it. She HEARD the whistle. Sophie waited a beat before peeking back into the classroom - momentarily caught off guard, having forgotten it was transfigured to be a huge gymnasium - and was relieved to see that all the balloons had been vanished. THAT was a good sign to her, so she caaaaaasually stepped back into the room and silently closed the door behind her.

She was totally calm and cool as she joined back up with the group, acting like she hadn't gone anywhere at all and only making eye contact with the professor as she moved to stand beside Tobes. So they WOULD get to play football - that was way cool, and she approved, as long as they were using a REAL football and not those petrifying water balloons. NOT a fan of those, no, but... since there were none in sight, they must be using a proper ball, correct? AND, best of all, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff got to be a team, so that meant she DID get to play with Tobes. HEHEHEHE.

"We're gonna win," she breathed loudly enough for only Tobes to hear next to her, a sly grin forming at the corners of her mouth. With Tobes and Soph in an alliance, there was no WAY they could go wrong. She would be a forward, she decided that for sure, and... she squinted sideways at Tobes. He would TOTALLY dominate at Keeper - had to be way easier than what he did for Quidditch, right? She wiggled her eyebrows at him in encouragement. SHE BELIEVED IN TOBIAS TEMPUS.

"Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs, over here," she summoned the stragglers helpfully, taking it upon herself to gather their team in one place since SOMEONE had to, didn't they? Addressing them at large, she offered a shrug, "If you've got a preference for position, speak now or forever hold your peace."

Tobes got LOOKS, though, and she grinned around at everyone, not hesitating to add to his comment, "He's not just alright at saving goals, he's being modest - he's really good. Quidditch experience and all that." Just so everyone KNEW Tobes would make a good keeper, yep.

WhittyBitty 11-26-2014 06:58 AM

Awesome, they were going to play football now. Lux had a feeling that was going to be the next activity and she was thrilled. What she wasn't thrilled about was playing AGAINST the Gryffindors. What was with the Professors and pitting her against her favourite House??? Nothing against the Ravenclaws because they were awesome, but she wanted to team up with the Lions.

Pout.

Oh well, time to play and hopefully her team would do awesome though it was just a game. She wanted to win and all but there was nothing nice about a sore loser. Toby offered to be the Goalkeeper, and Lux thought that would be pretty awesome. "Sure! Maybe I could play defender. Or I could be a forward." She had no real preference there and waited to hear what her teammates had to say.

Weasley174 11-26-2014 11:39 AM

Sorry guys, *hugs* (my football brain took over)

Angel looked at the Professor... seriously there was more to picking a team than that. She looked at her fellow team mates. "What formation we playing, the classic 4-4-2 or something different 5-3-2, 4-1-4-1 or 3-2-3-1-2 or 4-5-1?" Angel was totally confused, she had just named a few of the formations she didn't want to go on and on about all the different one's.

Angel then listened some more. "What style we playing? Are we just hitting the ball up long or are we passing to each other... move and pass... are we playing with everyone behind the ball and hitting them on the counter attack or are we just going to bombard them from the off?" Angel was totally confused there was more to football then just picking playing to play in a certain position. "Are we going to work the ball out from the keeper or can they hoof it long."

Angel then listened to the Professor explain positions. "Depending on the formation you use... you need different style or players.. you can have a left back or a wing back... a complete central defence... or a towering central defence who can win the ball in the air... midfield you can have a central midfield... box to box player... playmaker... plus there a few others... and your left and right mid players you can have inside forwards... wingers... and a few others... strikers is easy... you either have the central forward or the target man the target man's job is to hold up the ball whilst others come in support of the attack." Angel stopped there but not because she wanted to but because she was out of breath and she didn't know if she had lost her team mates.

Hera 11-26-2014 12:09 PM

totally missed your post jess.... :| HOOOWW?... *catches up*

There wasn't much he could do but listen as he remained frozen. Still, it didn't affect his hearing, and what the Professor said was loud and crystal clear.

Gryffie AND Snakes... woooot! Fun times to be had.

As he regained his mobility, Zeke peered around at his TEAM mates.

"I am not going goalie," he informed them... just so they knew.... and as for all this formation stuff Angel was on about, he had no clue. Zeke SHRUGGED. "Put me wherever you think I won't make us lose... I'm cool with being a bench warmer," he added.

FearlessLeader19 11-26-2014 12:16 PM

Who was that LAUGHING at him? Adi waited impatiently for the...uh frozeness to leave him but it wasn't ready to go as yet so his eyes would have to do the job at locating the person. He roved them around as best as he could in all directions. Ah. Zeke. No doubt it was his balloon that had somehow frozen the Puffer. Zeke was laughing and then aplogising. If he wasn't frozen, Adi would have laughed right back and told the Lion not to worry about it.

Then Adi saw it. Another balloon zooming at Zeke...and SPLAT! Hehe. Poor Zeke. The Universe had taken revenge on him. LOL.
.....................

The Hufflepuff heaved one more balloon towards the wall causing it to explode. Yay for his aim which had clearly not been messed up while he was away from the awesome sport that was cricket.

He paused as the Professor Head of House explained what they would be moving onto. Ohhh! This was going to be awesome! Why was it, though, that Hufflepuff and Gryffindor always seemed to be on the opposite sides when it involved class teams? Hmph.

Adi shuffled towards Claw Sophie. Tobias was going to be the Keeper? That was awesome with him! "I could be a defender but I really don't mind taking another position.'' All he knew was that the Claws and Puffs were going to win this!

Daydreamer11 11-26-2014 01:10 PM

Jasmine was no longer frozen, thank Merlin. As she got back to herself, the Professor called an end to their "warm up". Now they got to play a real soccer game, for points. Oh this was going to be fun. Hearing Sophie call out for Claws and Puffs, Jasmine made her way over to her teammates. The Professors seemed to really be into group work these days, but whatever.

As she joined her team, everyone seemed to requesting their preferred positions. Jasmine though about where she would be most useful. "I could play forward or defender. That's my preference, but I'll play wherever I'm needed." Most of all she wanted to score or keep others from scoring. Those could be equally satisfying roles.

Having checked out her team, Jasmine thought they had a pretty good chance of winning. They seemed to have some pretty good athletes among them and definitely some competitors so they had that going for them. Jasmine wasn't a soccer player, but she was an athlete. She got the general idea of the game so she could totally do this. Put the ball in the goal, keep the ball out of the goal......no problem.

Jessiqua 11-26-2014 01:40 PM

Zhenya wandered slowly over to her team; the Lions and the Snakes. Her shoulders were slightly slumped. She didn't understand this game. She only understood Quidditch. She would probably be a rubbish player and her team would lose! BAH - STOP IT! she told herself firmly.

"Hi guys," she said quietly. She listened to Angel… no idea what she was on about. Someone else had already said they would be goal keeper. Good? And Zeke had the right idea. Could they have two bench warmers? "I don't understand this game at all," she admitted, slightly embarrassed. "I'll go wherever."

MudInMyBlood 11-26-2014 02:27 PM

We saw the Eden love. :D (Angel, Zeke and Zhenya)

Nothing but smiles for Eden because she was ride or die, and AJ would not be forgetting that anytime soon. AJ was just about to dodge another balloon when the professor called attention to them and announced that they were playing FOOTBALL. Were her ears deceiving her? She was pumped, she was ready to play. All she knew for sure was that the Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs were going DOWN with a capital D... sorry boyfriend.

AJ jogged over to her team and smiled at her sister as she went on about football as if she was a professional player. Since when did Angel care about sports like that? Either way it was good to know that at least one person, other than herself, was knowledgeable about the sport. By the look on Zeke's and Zhenya's face they didn't know so much. Which is probably why the professor explained it the way she did.

"Hey guys." Beams for everybody. "I can literally play every position." And she was pretty good at it too if she did say so herself, and she did. "No bench warmers, Zeke. I'm sure you guys will be awesome." Maybe they shouldn't go in a defensive position... definitely not a goalkeeper. "What do you guys feel comfortable playing?" The professor did just pretty much list out the positions. There was no use forcing somebody to do something they weren't comfortable with. That was the quickest way to lose a game, and AJ was not about to lose.

Holmesian Feline 11-26-2014 02:39 PM

One activity was over and Benny was reminded that it was only supposed to be a warm up anyway for what was to come. He couldn't say he was all too familiar with muggle football so he was listening intently to the professor for all he might need to know. Like the fact he and Adi were on opposite teams when he could really use his best friend's help in this. Though upon hearing first Angel and then AJ talking about football, it was clear both sisters knew a lot about the sport and had played often.

Okay so he'd work with that.

As for position, he was no keeper or chaser by any means at least experience playing. So that knocked two options off the list of four as they gathered around picking spots. "I could play defender I guess," he offered with a minor shrug. He would have to remember the rule about no hands, not even something that was the muggle equivalent of a bat as they played.

Well so Josephina had thought she had researched all aspects of the sport but she heard one of the triplets rattling off information and questions, she had to admit she just went a little confused. "Classic formation. We're learning, so we don't want anything too crazy difficult. If there's more forwards or defenders or midfielders than normal than that's okay too, but just only one goalkeeper" So yes things might not have lined up with normal Football, but she didn't want to leave anyone out she just wanted them to get a general idea for 'fielding the ball', also to have a bit of a light class. "Move and pass. I want everyone to get an opportunity to experience kicking the ball. and experience interceptions from the opposition." Did that answer all the questions? She hoped so.

"No bench warmers! AJ is right. If you're new to sports or Football, then I think midfielder would be a good position, as it's a support position, more than a focal position." Fina replied at overhearing Zeke. Everyone would be playing (except for)

Hera 11-26-2014 02:46 PM

Hablahblahblah. That's how he felt about this.

...

He was pretty much thinking the same as Zhenya, that he'd do whatever... like, WHATEVER. But it was good to know their team still had some hope, even with him not being relegated to the bench. Boooo. And whaaattttt even Professor Nairne was going on about no bench warmers, REALLY? But but... he was SO good at it. Midfield though, wasn't that a whole lot of running? Like... LOTS of running? He didn't care much for that.

Zeke shrugged in response to AJ's question. "I really don't know, I've only ever kicked the ball around, not played a proper game or anything, but, maybe put me up front? I wouldn't trust be defending..." cause yeah... if he didn't score anything, maybe someone else would. He could be the decoy... but if he were defending, well that was a whole lot more responsibility. Benny had gets to play in that position.

Weasley174 11-26-2014 03:08 PM

Angel looked at Zhenya and Zeke. "Don't worry you two will be awesome." Angel smiled. "Anyway, did the Professor say if we needed team captains and vice-captains." Angel then saw Benny and Kori join them as well. "I can play striker if you want me too." Angel was really good at scoring but she would play anywhere.

Angel then decided that she would continue with her instructions. "If we are going to go out there and beat them we need to make sure we work as a team... we need to get stuck in and not give them time to settle on the ball... we make them... make a mistake and then we hit them with everything we have got, we need people who can run fast in midfield... they will be running to support the attack and they will be running to help out the defence when it is needed." Angel then remembered something important. "Oh and remember that if you are going for it you need to make sure we know, we don't want any mix ups with defending, if the Keeper says mine... let them deal with it." Angel was giving a good prep talk.

MudInMyBlood 11-26-2014 04:53 PM

Kori wishes she was playing. ;)

Okay... who died and made Angel the football queen? AJ didn't remember the professor requesting a ruler over the sport. Normally AJ was the one forever talking about sports, and being super competitive, which she still was, but Angel was going off the deep end. Somebody needed to knock her off her pedestal, and AJ was happy to be that person. Their teammates so far didn't even have a clue what was going on much less having an understanding about Angel's special formations and tactics. "Calm down, coach." If anyone was going to be benched it would be her. No ball hogs, ahem.

Blah, blah, blah. It was safe to assume that everybody got the team thing. All of this talking still didn't put anybody in a position. Benny had volunteered to be a defender, and with his quidditch skills that was a good fit for him. AJ turned her attention to Zeke and smiled. "The professor has a good point. What do you think about being a midfielder? All you have to do is get the ball from the other team and get to it to our forwards, and then they will score." Easy enough. He was low to the ground and could do well with that.

Zhenya would most likely do well with that position as well. "What do you think, Zhenya? Wanna help Zeke out and be a midfielder as well? Or a forward if you wanna do some scoring." If she didn't know too much about the game that was the position she would choose. How good was her aim? AJ was all about contact and defense... she did well in those positions. She honestly did well in any position.

ArianaBlack 11-26-2014 05:47 PM

For all the snakes and lions

..... Huh? Angel had lost him after the first fives seconds and he was left just gaping at the rest. Honestly, she was way too into the sport and Zander didn't really understand all her fancy language. So he let her do her thing as he stood back and watched the rest try to figure out their positions because yeah, no fancy terminology here people.

Uh..... Wait a minute.

"I can still be goal keeper right?" Just checking.

kayquilz 11-26-2014 08:42 PM

WE ARE HERE, OKAAAY? *plops*

Eden was still so PUMPED from the practice round---GAHHH! SHE WAS REAAAADAY! And then Professor Zairne called them back together---AND THEY WERE PLAYING FOOTBALL MERLIN YES! Eden was so EXCCCIIIIIIIIITTED. She hopped up instantly as they broke into the two teams--and drew close to Toby, who offered to be goalkeeper. Right. Who else did they have?

Toby, Sophie, Jasmine, Adi, Lux...and now EDEN. "Okay. We have to STAY STRONG HERE--" she told her team, her face VERY serious because sports. BECAUSE. SPORTS. "Toby--you're goalkeeper? I definitely want to be a forward--" she blushed. "You know--if no one ELSE wants to be one." She said, rubbing the back of her head. She was GOOD at this and she wanted to WIN.

Oops.

Competitive brain TAKEOVER BEGINS..........NOW.

"We should name our team. Build up some spirit and help us feel like one single UNIT and whatnot--any ideas?" Naming was iMPORTANT okay?

Jessiqua 11-26-2014 10:30 PM

Zhenya listened to everyone, feeling slightly overwhelmed. So many things to take in, and what was Angel TALKING about? Zhenya looked at her like she was talking Arabic! She was glad that Professor Nairne was settling the confusion, and that AJ was settling her sister's eagerness. Zhenya was honestly impressed the girl knew so much about football but it was slightly confusing.

AJ asked her a question about positions, suggesting midfielder. She remembered Professor Nairne speaking about them being the ones to get control of the ball. She thought she probably could do that, so she said "Yes, I can give a midfielder a go." Then she smiled awkwardly, hoping it was a smile of confidence, even though she didn't feel very confident.

WhittyBitty 11-26-2014 11:03 PM

More people were joining the team and it was awesome. Lux smiled at Toby, Sophie, Adi, Jasmine, and a Ravenclaw she believed to be named Eden. Everyone was stating their preferences, and even though she had already voiced two options for herself she ended up making a final decision. "I'll play a forward with Eden." It sounded like a fun idea to her.

Somewhere in the background she overheard Angel talking about all these complicated formations and such. Ummmm, what? Lux liked to think she knew a fair bit about football, but that was seriously making her brain hurt. Shaking her head, she brought her attention back to her own team and matters that were actually important. "A team name is a great idea, but I admit I'm not good at coming up with them." Maybe one of the clever Claws would come up with something?

Felixir 11-26-2014 11:41 PM

Soph. Right there. Finally.

Toby had just opened his mouth to ask her where she'd got to when, before he knew it, she was taking charge and calling people over and then sort of going on about his goalkeeping skills.

He squinted at her, squiiiiiiiiiiint, in response to those LOOKS. Toby had never been the sort to brag all that much (well... at all), and it felt weird whenever someone did so on his behalf. But so far everyone seemed fine with him going in goal, which was good. And probably fair too, because Toby had experience with football whereas a majority of people would be trying it for the first time; best to keep back out of the way.

There was a lot of... real motivational talk going on, from this team and, he could tell, from the other team. Like... it was already getting competitive. Eeep.

"Okay. I'll be goalkeeper. And just remember," he quickly added. "To have fun, and don't worry too much about winning. As long as everyone gets a go at kicking the ball around, it'll be a good game, yeah?" Toby nodded as he spoke, hoping that the whole 'it's the taking part that counts' mentality was clear. "Also, kicking the ball is a little harder than it seems at first, but you'll get the hang of it."

How much of that five minutes did they have left? Probably not a great deal, but at least now everyone could just sort of assign themselves a position to play. Generally, in non-official games, it always turned out with everyone running all over the pitch anyway. As for a team name, uhhh... "Maybe just... Huffleclaws?" he suggested. "I'd say Ravenpuffs, but that kinda sounds like a cereal. For birds."

Expecto-Penguin 11-26-2014 11:49 PM

Alright game time! Kace heard the directions and he heard the Puffs and Claws were gonna be on a team together. Excellent he will have fun tackling Cinna, Zander and Zeke. He smirked to himself and he already knew how to play football since that is the sport his family played back at home. He heard everyone have positions. He knew Toby wanted to be goalkeeper and he nodded. He heard Lux wanted to be a front linesmen with Eden and that was fine. Kace interjected saying "Hey guys I can be whatever you need me to be but I prefer to be on the front lines and tackling with the ball.." he winked and was excited for this game to start.

feeheeheeny 11-27-2014 12:04 AM

Though Sophie had never actually played football before, she knew enough about it to feel pretty confident about the forthcoming task. And as people claimed their positions, she just smiled and nodded - though she wanted to be a forward, she didn't really care much where she went, not enough to argue or demand her spot. She knew she would be good anywhere, really.

"I'm really fast and don't mind being aggressive and stealing the ball from people and stuff, and I've got scoring experience from Chasing, but s'probably not the same, I reckon." Since they'd have to be scoring goals by kicking rather than throwing. "So... someone point me in the direction of where I could best use those strengths, and I'll be your girl." She was especially looking to Tobes, who would undoubtedly know where she would perform best for the team.

As for a team name though, she snorted at her best friend's suggestions. "We can be more creative than that, c'mon! What about Team AWESOME since that's what we ARE? Or... the... BEAGLES? Badgers and eagles combined?" Hahahahah. "That's a kind of dog, isn't it? Small but mighty? Maybe underestimated... like us? The UNDERDOG?" It was NO secret that Gryffindor was the force to be reckoned with this term, and the typically competitive, ambitious personalities of the Slytherins undoubtedly made the other team the one people would bet on, wasn't it?

She thought it was hilarious AND clever, and the stupid grin on her face made it known.

DaniDiNardo 11-27-2014 12:06 AM

Gosh, Ashley would have loved this :l

They were gonna play Quidditch football!

Granted Lex didn't know one thing about this sport despite everything Angel had just prattled off but that wasn't gonna stop her. She'd been hoping to play goalkeep, Keeper having been her last position before the doof ruined the sport for the school but she was fine playing other things since Zander asked first. Defender was out though. The only defense roles she played were those that allowed her a heavy bat that cracked skulls. With football being so watered down, that was apparently not an option soooo...

"I'll play whatever. I'm decent at scoring if that's all that's left though." Nevermind that it was never scoring with her feet but it couldn't have been ALL that different...yeah? Anyway, she was fine with whatever the team decided so long as they could play something before they had to leave.

What was the hold up exactly?

kayquilz 11-27-2014 02:10 AM

Eden nodded at Lux. "We got this," and she put her fist out for Lux to bump with hers. She looked up at Toby, too, for a team name idea since he seemed creative enough for that...

Except he DIDN'T deliver this time. PFFFT. Eden smiled at her friend. "I like Huffleclaws--I do--but--" and then SOPHIE chimed in and Eden clapped. 'YES. YES. BEAGLES. TEAM BEAGLES." She said excitedly, jumping up and down and GAAAHHHH THIS WOULD BE SO FREAKIN' FUN!

"Yes--have fun--and win--at the same time--" she said, looking at her teammates seriously. Eden was NOT the type to yell and get mad or SCREAM or anything--oh NO--but she DID want to win and kick some BUTTS, yeah? "I have faith in us. We're awesome." She said encouragingly. She grinned over at Kace, too--"Um--you and Sophie COULD be the--well--we need someone to guard Toby---OOOH Sophie--you could do that--you'd probably good at that, right?" Since they were lovebirds and all. "And you could STEAL the ball when they come for Toby--" YEAH. "Kace...midfielder?" she asked softly.

They did NOT need to take Eden's suggestions at all. She hoped she didn't come off pushy. She smiled cheerfully and tried to look nice. Like she normally was anyways! Yep.

PhoenixRising 11-27-2014 04:47 AM

*calling out on Jasmine and Alexa* And let's PLAY BALL

So she since there were no further questions, Josephina had just been standing nearby listening as they debated positions.

It seemed both teams had their Goalkeepers decided - Toby and Zander - and at least one person from each team seemed to have some game plan, so that was good too.

"Alright, let's get started! Alexa... Jasmine. Face-off for the two lead forwards right in the middle." She waited for them to join her in the middle. "Good luck. One----- Two -----Three." And she dropped the ball right in between the two prefects.

ooc: feel free to include key points in your post (i.e. open pass, pass to specific person, goal attempt, intercepting, etc,). HAVE FUN = MOST IMPORTANT.

The water balloons were gone. That was good. She had gotten through the water balloon thing without running out of the room. Penelope did not like water balloons.

Oh, they were going to play football now? Penelope was not as scared of playing football as she was of water balloons, but she was not really keen on the idea of kicking a ball around or having a ball kicked at her. At least she wouldn't have to be goalkeeper. She had no idea what to do, and didn't really want to play. It could be dangerous. What if she got hit by the ball? Maybe she should just slip out of the room for a bit. Bathroom break if anyone asked. She totally wasn't just avoiding playing football. Quietly, she walked out of the room.

WhittyBitty 11-27-2014 07:57 AM

WOOOOOO!! This was going to be so much fun even though she was playing against her boyfriend's House. She also had a lot of friends in Gryffindor, including some of her besties.

Really getting into the spirit the way that Eden was, Lux fist bumped the older Ravenclaw. "GOOOO TEAM BEAGLES! WE GOT THIS! WOOOO!!" Hehe. They were so going to win this match. Beam.

Everyone more-or-less had a position now, and Professor Hadley was calling Jasmine and Lex to face-off. Eagerly she got into position and waited for the game to begin.

Felixir 11-27-2014 09:29 AM

More mellow looks at Soph. LAUGHING at his IDEA? Gosh. Rude. AND YOU TOO EDEN. Killing his hopes and dreams. KILLING THEM.

Toby didn't really mind at all, though, and he guessed Beagles was a good enough team name, 'cause beagles were those cute little dogs and he LOVED cute little dogs. In any case, he was now suitably distracted by the realisation that people really WERE going to get competitive with this. Uhhh... no thank you please. Please no. Please just happy fun time.

He was actually starting to consider asking to step out of this portion of the class, such was his sudden feeling of discomfort, but it was just one of those fleeting thoughts that he didn't really intend to follow through with. Aaaaaaaand in any case. They were starting.

"Just pick any position and go for it," he said, some golden last minute advice for those who had yet to decide on a position, as he backed away towards their goal. "They're all pretty fun." And fun was super important.

Now in position and ready, Toby stood waiting for kick-off. And then looked at his hands. This... could get painful with no gloves, but he could TOTALLY take it. Yeah. Rarrr.

Daydreamer11 11-27-2014 09:48 AM

Passing the ball to a teammate. Anyone?

Jasmine stood back and listened as all the planning, assigning and team naming was being done. This was going to be interesting and it appeared that true personalities were being brought to the surface for this game. As long as they could work together as a team, they should have a good chance to win. Jasmine crossed her fingers on that one.

Most of the team had stated their desired positions or been assigned one by a team leader. Then Jasmine heard her name being called and looked to the Professor. Lead forward.......face off? What? OK, it appeared that she had a position now and she and Lex got to set things off. Oh the perks of being Prefect.

Jasmine followed the Professor to the center of the field floor. Giving Lex her best game face, she prepared for the start of the game. As the ball dropped, Jasmine quickly made contact and kicked it to the right in the direction of her closest teammate. She may not be a football expert, but she was fast. She'd just have to use that to her advantage. Running further up the field, Jasmine looked for a good position and kept moving.

Jessiqua 11-27-2014 12:22 PM

Zhenya watched the first kick and hoped that her team made first contact, but it didn't. Darn! Jasmine kicked the ball and off it went. She almost yelled out 'GO JASMINE!' but she remembered they weren't on the same team. Zhenya ran after the ball, not really sure if that was what she had to do or not. Surely it was? She ran up to the ball, watching out for other people, and her foot made contact with the ball. She aimed her kick towards the RavenPuff goals, where she hoped some SlytherDor's were.

FearlessLeader19 11-27-2014 12:50 PM

Blocking Zhenya's shot

Woooooot! Go Team RavenPuffs/ Beagles! Honestly, Adi liked both of the names so they were both sticking with him. And it was time to play! Jasmine connected with the ball first but Zhenya intercepted, guiding the ball towards the RavenPuffs goalposts.

Adi was watching her moves intently. He dodged around some of his team mates and players from the other team...eyes on the ball all the time as Zhenya kicked it, the Hufflepuff jumped up as it went airborne. It connected with his head before Adi tumbled to the ground but he was up in no time. One successful defence!

Daydreamer11 11-27-2014 01:16 PM

Passing, hopefully to a Beagle

Jasmine watched as Adi successfully blocked Zhenya's shot. She headed back in the opposite direction and managed to catch up with the the ball as it bounced off of his head. Once it hit the ground, she kicked the ball and tried to send it up field.

Seeing several teammates up ahead, she hoped that they would be able to get to the ball first. This was kind of fun. Jasmine was actually enjoying football......so far.

Hera 11-27-2014 01:37 PM

intercepting! and sending it long!

Zeke wasn't sure about this whole football thing. It was Ashley's thing, not his... NOT HIS... and she'd likely laugh if she saw his attempts at actually playing a game, match, thing. Even once the game got underway, he didn't know what he was going. All he knew was he wasn't allowed to touch the ball with his hands, and he had to kick it toward his players or his goals or in SOME circumstances, get the ball to the keeper.... but yeah. Didn't know much.

As far as he was concerned, being a midfielder meant running with the general crowd, then away from them, and then trying not to lose his breath. He did however, attempt to get a foot to the ball and tried that whole tackling thing too... with his body... pushing others away from him. Not his hands, his body. Now THAT was a difficult feat.

He was still running when the ball went down field, and with his momentum he managed to get onto the receiving end of it with his foot.

He somehow managed to turn with it, though his pace slowed in doing so, and he wasn't much good at directing the ball. At any rate, his foot connected with the ball more solidly and he sent it toward his team's scoring side of the pitch place thing. SOMEONE GET IT!

DaniDiNardo 11-27-2014 01:37 PM

*gets the long shot and tries for a goal?*

Forward? What now?

Lex wasn't gonna question most things so she just kinda walked over to Professor Hadley yes, always Hadley, graduating means not having to adjust and faced Jasmine like she figured she was meant to. Was this kinda like where they tossed the quaffle and both Chasers tried nabbing it?...Only...without being high up above the ground and having the choice to do a steep dive to retrieve it? That was probably it because before she knew it Jasmine had gone off with the ball and something told her she was meant to follow.

Honestly, Lex had never seen the point in Alice making the team jog at 5 am some mornings until now, otherwise this running thing would be a no. As it stood, the Gryffindor had a lot of stamina so keeping up wasn't too hard. She watched her teammate steal the ball and head for Toby but Adi got in the way.

Ball back to Jasmine then and this time Lex intended to do something about it. As the Ravenclaw kicked the ball off and out Lex watched it soar until...YES caught by Zeke!! Lex knew the kid was good for it and ran along back to the Ravenpuff side, catching the ball just after he'd sent it wide--A lucky catch really, one she almost made with her hands before she remembered what game they were meant to be playing.

Now in possession of the ball, she meandered around an up-comer trying to block her before facing the goal and thus Toby. At this point Lex gave a really hard kick, one Alice might have been proud of.

FearlessLeader19 11-27-2014 02:24 PM

Blocking Lex's shot

Zeke intercepting, Lex taking a shot. That was what Adi was paying attention to. He was prepared to make another block. Oh yeah! Once again, the Hufflepuff tore ahead, never taking his eyes from Lex's movements.

When she kicked, Adi quickly moved to block the ball from going close to Tobias and the goalposts. Annnnd...he connected his foot with the ball sending it flying back over some of the players' heads. Hopefully a Puffer or Claw would get to it.

Weasley174 11-27-2014 02:32 PM

heading the ball

Angel had a funny feeling the Professor didn't know much about the sport... you didn't face off at the start... you had two halves and you tossed a coin the winner got to pick if they wanted to kick off or what side they wanted to have... seriously this wasn't football as she knew it.

Angel was playing up front but she hadn't moved since the start of the match since she was in shock with the whole thing... she was just in the right position to head the ball with a powerful header towards who ever was playing up front with her.

Once Angel had headed the Ball she sprinted as fast as she could up field. seriously... she was going to take someone down today... so everyone had best be on their toes.

DaniDiNardo 11-27-2014 09:30 PM

*catches the ball and heads back to goal, teammate passing too*

Right. Adi blocking the other shot too. She didn't know he'd switched goalie positions with Tobias. Funny how that worked but the Gryffindor's eyes remained fixed on the ball he'd sent back down the field. There wasn't too much worry considering she saw it headed right for Angel and the girl was on her team so they'd have the ball right back up to this side of the field.

She watched it zip through the air and ran ahead to meet it, directly cutting someone off who'd also made for the ball. For the second time she'd gotten the urge to snatch the ball from the air but at the last minute remembered, stepping back so it'd hit the floor before she kicked it off back toward the Ravenpuff goal.

This time she didn't take the shot herself, noting the angle Adi was at, she kicked the ball over to a teammate who'd been up that side and at a better advantage were they to take the shot.

Just hope they didn't let someone else swipe the ball. That's have been a wasted kick.

kayquilz 11-27-2014 09:54 PM

In comes Eeeeeden!

OKAY SO Eden hadn't been able to get close to the ball--BUT she was TRYING okay--but the Gryffindors were just on FIYAAAAH. Well--Eden was about to be an EXTINGUISHER AH HUH.

She swooped in, ready to recover the ball that had been STOLEN from Jasmine--and then poor Adi--he had TRIED okay--WHEW--Eden eyed the head girl as she suddenly jumped in front of her, attempting to steal the ball before she could get ANY closer to Toby--and she HAD GOTTEN IT! WHOOH!

Quickly running in the opposite direction, towards the Slytherdor's goal--she gave the ball a great big KICK--hoping that one of her teammates would snag it--

COME ON BEAGLES!

Holmesian Feline 11-27-2014 10:05 PM

Soon enough the placements were pretty much set seeing as Professor Nairne announced it was time to actually play the game. So Zander was keeper, or the goal keeper, Alexa and Angel were the shooters and he was one of the bea---defenders. When the ball started moving, Benny hung back by the marked goal, taking that as his supposed position on the would-be field. He did his best to stay completely alert to what was going on, watching the actions of both his housemates and teammates and the opposite houses and team.

Had Angel just used her head to keep the ball in play?

Was that allowed?

Was she okay?

It looked like it might have hurt. Bludgers certainly hurt but then he doubted that that ball was like a bludger else she'd be out cold with that move. Okay Atreyu....pay attention and be ready. The Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs could come at any moment.

Weasley174 11-27-2014 10:08 PM

In comes Angel

Angel ran for the ball and she got it now... it was time for her to run towards the goal because she was playing striker... she ran towards the goal doing some twist and turns to try and some flicks past a couple of people but she knew it was important not to give the ball away.

She got towards the goal and decided that she would twist to the left and pass it too a team mate hopefully so that they could score hopefully they would... but when she twisted she felt some pain in her leg for no reason what so ever but she wasn't going to tell anyone because there was no need. "Come on guys we can do this." Angel beamed.

Felixir 11-27-2014 11:12 PM

just watching and bouncing and waiting

Toby was used to taking up a goalkeeper position in Quidditch and all, was used to having to hang back and watch the action and sort of hope that the ball would come his way whilst simultaneously feeling pleased that his team was playing well enough that he didn't really need to do so much. Usually, though, he was on a broom, and could sort of circle the hoops, whereas right now this whole STANDING thing just wasn't doing it for him.

So Toby jumped.

On the spot.

Over and over.

And over.

He kept his eye on the ball and tried to watch its progress. A couple of times it had come close but those defenders were really on the ball (heheh) with clearing the ball from the scoring area. Every now and then there would be too many people in the way and his view of the ball would be blocked for a second, but for the most part Toby's attentions were TOTALLY FOCUSED for once; it was the effect that sports had on him. Same happened with video games.

That Gryffindor girl had it right now, and Toby kept looking between her face and general body language, and then the ball, still bouncing away. Soon it would just be him and the ball.

And he was ready.

ArianaBlack 11-28-2014 01:45 AM

*keeping the goal warm, it's casual*

And there was a lot going on. First the ball started with the RavenPuff team, and then over SlytherDor and then back to O____O.

Yeah, he was pretty glad about the decision to be goal keeper right about now. There was just a lot going on and it was so much easier to understand when he was sitting in front of the goal trying to figure things out himself.

But to keep on his toes, he occasionally did the bouncing thing, you know, incase the ball took a wrong turn and got too close for comfort? Zander would be there!! TO THE RESCUE!

Except, now that Gryffindor had the ball, he was on momentary standby. Again.

But he was still here and protecting the goal!! Constant vigilance!

Expecto-Penguin 11-28-2014 02:16 AM

*Catching Edens Pass and Passes to any Beagle*

Kace was ready for this, when the teacher called out they were playing he grinned and he ran up the field since he was the mid fielder after all. He saw Eden kicking the ball and he ran to go a grab it. He ran and ran and finally CAUGHT IT!

OMFHHH!!!

Man that was a hard KICK! He was impressed with Eden's kicking skills. Once he caught the ball, he ran towards the goal. He saw Zander keeping the goal warm but then he came across a few of the lions defense. He was caught in quite a pickle. He wondered who he could pass too so he could get by them? He needed to think fast and he passed it to his right hoping an open beagle would be there.

WhittyBitty 11-28-2014 02:26 AM

*catches ball from Kace*

So Lux kinda hadn't been doing anything so far this match. Since the ball never came close to her. But she was watching and so ready to score for her team.

THE LIONS AND SNAKES WERE GOING DOOOOOOOWN.

Though part of her still felt bad about going against her number one House, it wasn't her fault that the Professors loved pitting the Badgers and Lions against each other.

Spotting Kace pass the ball to the right, she swooped in and gave it a mighty KICK. Hopefully she would make this a score for the Beagles.

LET THIS BE A GOOOOOAL!!!

Holmesian Feline 11-28-2014 02:28 AM

Intercepting Ball from Lux

Soon enough Benny caught the football coming towards the Gryfferin goal, kicked first by a Ravenclaw girl and then passed onto first one and then a second vaguely familiar Hufflepuff. He did his best to watch the badger carefully and intently as he moved around the defense area. So he was able to notice when Lex kicked finally the football as if aiming towards the goal.

Taking a chance since the ball was currently on open ground in front of the goal, the Gryffindor fourth year moved to intercept it. This was what he was supposed to be doing....right. Kicking it to claim control of the ball for a little while staying in the vacinity of the back portion of the field, he finally kicked it in the direction of a few of his teammates. Hopefully one of them would manage to catch possession of it and move towards the Ravenpuff side once more.

Jessiqua 11-28-2014 02:39 AM

Zhenya watched as Ben kicked the ball again, away from the goals. She ran towards the ball and kicked it down the court towards the RavenPuff goals. Please let a Lion or Snake get to the ball!

WhittyBitty 11-28-2014 03:42 AM

*intercepts ball*

Lux thought she had the ball as good as scored, but Benny intercepted at the last moment. Okay, that wasn't cool and it didn't matter that he was Adi's best friend and dating Angel; she was supposed to score.

Heading towards the ball as he kicked it, a Slytherin girl beat her to it. Well, she wasn't going to let them score on her team. Rushing towards the ball, she blocked the girl's shot and passed the ball along hoping that another Beagle would take possession of it.

Jessiqua 11-28-2014 04:47 AM

The ball was intercepted, but Zhenya kept running. She was slowly losing her breath, and would have to stop soon to have a drink, but for now she was watching the ball. Was she even doing it right? Who knew… She watched as a Hufflepuff student kicked the ball afterwards, and Zhenya jumped in front of it to stop it, then took a quick glance around to look around and noticed her team mates standing just behind the Hufflepuff girl. She kicked it towards someone, hoping the Puffer wouldn't take control of it again.

ArianaBlack 11-28-2014 05:01 AM

*is attempting to do the goalie thing*

And then Lux had the ball. O____O AND SHE WAS COMING TOWARDS THE GOAL!???

How the heck did people play this game so well??? Were they all professionals in a past life or something??? Because Zander definitely wasn't and the faster Lux was going, the more worried the Gryffindor got. He couldn't let his team down and why the heck did he even volunteer to stand in goal anyways? This was a horrible idea. This was suddenly getting ready to catch the ball. This was--

Oh? Benny. Wait, YAY BENNY!!!! Letting out a loud whoop in celebration, Zander watched as the ball went the other way. HEH. And he didn't even have to do a thing yet.

But wait. Lux had it again. Oh boy oh boy.

The Gryffindor started shifting his weight from side to side in anticipation. When the ball came, he'd be ready!!! Or he'd-uh- trick himself into being ready. Heh. Yeah either one.

Felixir 11-28-2014 09:10 AM

still bouncing and totes rEADY

It was sooooooooooo tempting to call out and see if someone wanted to switch places with him, even just for a second, because seeing everyone out there playing and stuff was making Toby super eager to get some action in this game. He continued to bounce on the spot, burning energy that way, and followed the progress of the ball. Even further away, Tobias also noticed Zander standing guard at the opposite goal, but he decided not to wave hello in case it was too much of a distraction. For either of them.

Back and forth between the two teams the ball was going, and people were really getting stuck in. Toby watched as the other team too possession of the ball again and passed it off. Every time they got possession or inched closer he felt that familiar jump of excitement in his chest, 'cause it meant that the ball could fly his way at any time. Needed to be ready.

It WAS kind of easy to get carried away with the watching action of the game, but it was something Toby had a handle on.

Bounce bounce bounce...

FearlessLeader19 11-28-2014 12:04 PM

When Zhenya kicked the ball, Adi realised it was coming in his direction. After he had stopped Lex's shot, he had been running around doing nothing helpful so he was all set to really get back into the game.

He intercepted the ball before any Snake or Lion could get to it, looked around at his team mates' positions and kicked the ball in their direction, towards the Snake/Lion goalposts. Here's to hoping a Puffer or Claw took over.

Weasley174 11-28-2014 12:20 PM

Angel was still struggling with her leg, for some reason it was giving her a lot of pain... seriously she would run it off though or in her case she would hobble it off... maybe she shouldn't have twisted so fast, though she had done it before with no trouble what so ever.

Angel saw the ball coming near her and she felt like having a shot but she decided against it for now she wanted to do a one-two with someone but who, if they could set her up more for the shot that would be amazing. She passed it forwards a bit hoping that someone from her team would get it.

DaniDiNardo 11-28-2014 02:30 PM

Taking a shot

Merlin this game had gone places! Alexa found herself sorta aimlessly running in one direction then the next, watching the ball as it passed from her team to the other and back again. She couldn't tell whether this was a good thing or not but for sure it wasn't by any stretch of the imagination as riveting as Quidditch. No one was getting knocked senseless by violent, blood thirsty balls, no one was really at the goal like BAM with flashy blocks and the sort. Muggles didn't know how to have real fun. This was almost lame.

Lex watched Angel get in possession of the ball once more and considering the girl was much closer than the others had been, Lex ran alongside her waiting in the event she'd pass the ball--because she was assuming that you didn't steal the ball from your own team, you know?

Finally the younger girl did pass the ball and Alexa sped ahead, trying the whole mastery of the ball thing to be sure her feet didn't suddenly trip themselves over the round object.

Back at the goal she grinned at Toby who looked all too ready for some action. This was kinda like his First Year, when she Chased and he kept and she faced it at the post. Once again, she kicked at the ball with everything she had, aiming closer to the upper left net as it turned out.

That...actually wasn't on purpose but sure!

kayquilz 11-28-2014 05:41 PM

Eden had THOUGHT she was going to help get a goal but INSTEEEAAAAD she had KICKED the ball right into OPPOSING FEETS. MERLIN. Eden ran back and forth--trying to get in at the ball--but she just COULDN'T and it was driving her NUTS MERLIN!

She finally followed up on the ball behind Alexa-but the girl was fast and was TAKING A SHOT OMG.

Eden GASPED and waved at Toby--SAVE THE BALL TOBY DON'T LET HER GET A GOAL! "COME ON TOBY YOU GOT THIS!" she yelled--encouragingly--and if he missed. Welp. Eden wouldn't be very mad--they'd just have to TRY to get a goal, yeah?!

Felixir 11-28-2014 08:35 PM

*sAVES THE GOAL* (sorry Lex *mellow*) aaaand kicking it out towards teammates

Bounce bounce bounce...

That one Gryffindor girl looked like she was limping a bit, which immediately made Toby all kinds of concerned thanks to his caring sort of nature. He watched her for a moment while also following the process of the ball. But then ALEXA WAS HERE AND HE WAS READY THIS WAS HIS TIME TO SHINE.

The bouncing ceased and Toby stood there, arms held out, READY and grinning right back at the Head Girl. HI LEX HI.

He waited and watched, subconsciously calculating where Lex was aiming versus where the kick would be likely to send it. A split second after she kicked it, Toby leapt for the ball.

Turned out that being slightly smaller than average was a bit of a disadvantage here. Toby didn't quite get the height to CATCH the ball but he did manage to PUNCH in off course and straight up in the air, before finally as it fell. It was sheer luck more than anything; this was a lot harder when you were 5'3" and the goal was large and you didn't have a broom to fly you to where the ball was.

The Hufflepuff seemed pretty amazed that he'd caught that one, and hoped he'd keep up the dumb luck for the rest of the game.

"Sorry Lex," Toby said, giving an automatic apologetic smile before dropping the ball and kicking it waaaaay out for those on his team. The Beagles, yeah, those.

Muggle Keeping was a lot harder than it looked.

Daydreamer11 11-28-2014 09:47 PM

Passing to a Beagle and going for the assist.

Oh oh, Lex was taking a shot.........and.........Toby got it! Toby got the save! And then in the blink of an eye the ball was sailing toward Jasmine. She blocked the ball with her body and as it fell to the ground, she began to kick it forward. Trying to push the ball in the direction of her team's goal, Jasmine avoided a couple of opponents. Controlling the ball was hard and Jasmine was looking ahead for someone to pass it to.

Everyone appeared to be covered so Jasmine tried to bide her time, waiting for a teammate to get open. Finally, she saw an opening. As one of her Beagles broke toward the goal, Jasmine delivered a well timed pass. "Shoot it", she yelled. They needed a goal in the worst way.

Expecto-Penguin 11-28-2014 11:37 PM

*Catches Jasmine's pass and tries to score*

Kace saw Toby save the goal and he was impressed. "NICE SAVE TOBY!!"" he called out and then noticed Jasmine had the ball and he saw her passing it and it was coming towards his direction. Erghh should he catch it? He didn't see anyone else coming towards it and he caught it. He heard Jasmine make the command of SHOOT IT! He nodded in his head and kicked it towards the goal hoping to shoot it in...

He did kick it quite hard not realizing his own strength. He watched the ball fly over towards the goal post of the lions and snakes.

Weasley174 11-29-2014 12:36 AM

Sorry Jess (competitive liam took over)

Angel was supposed to be playing attacker but for some reason she had found herself in her own half... well attackers did help out their defence sometimes right, and well it looked like they needed that help now... her leg was still hurting but she didn't need to think about that right now... she saw someone shooting and well she wanted to stop it before it went to the goalkeeper.

Angel just jumped into the air and headed the ball to safety... seriously she had not though about the landing when she had jump up into the air... she put her arm on her face and fell down with

*thud*

"I'm okay." Angel shouted to her team mates as she got up... she was totally going to do that again if her team needed her to but for now she was going to go back up-field where she belong.

ArianaBlack 11-29-2014 01:01 AM

big post of nothing basically

And Kace had the ball... AND HE WAS COMING TOWARDS THE GOAL O____O

Zander looked around the field to see if anyone else from his team was coming. He needed backup and stat!! And before he could say anything, he saw Angel making her way over full speed. Just as the older Gryffindor got ready to catch the incoming ball, AJ swept through and took it instead.

Pft. It's okay guys... No big deal.

He'd get it next time. Yup. Everything is all good here.

Zander just shifted his weight as he waited for the ball again. Except, he'd rather the ball stay on the other side of the court... You know? For particular reasons because it'd be really nice if they'd be able to get a goal eventually.

griffin 11-29-2014 02:32 AM

Penelope's not actually playing

Penelope had decided that she should come back into the classroom/gym, even if she wasn't going to play football. Professor Hadley might notice if she was gone for too long. She wouldn't want to miss the rest of the lesson. The second year Ravenclaw was not the kind of girl who would just leave and skip the rest of class. Cutting class was a big no-no, completely unacceptable. Even if she wasn't playing football, she could at least watch her classmates who were playing and hope the professor wouldn't force her to play. People were actually getting hit by the ball. Penelope really didn't like the idea of people kicking the ball at her. So, yeah, she was just going to stand here at the side of the room and watch.

PhoenixRising 11-29-2014 03:31 AM

*tossing a second ball into the mix for extra funsies/challenges*

So there was one thing Hadley was certain of ... that Angel girl? She certainly knew how to head a ball and frankly she was pretty sure she shuttered a moment until the second year bounded upright ... well then. Brave little lioness.

Pondering the game a moment, she decided she may as well go for it and add some more challenge .... especially for the ball hogs - and those who seem to think they can intercept everything ...

Without further ado, the professor kicked a second ball into play. Let's just hope she didn't accidentally kick it into someone's face ... but for good measure, right after kicking it which admittedly was probably too late, "Heads up! Second ball incoming!"

ooc: we'll wrap up the lesson in about 17-18 hours so last chance to earn some participation credit for this part of the lesson!!!

Felixir 11-29-2014 04:43 AM

watching and acknowledging and thinking happy thoughts

Two. Two footballs.

Two of them.

In the game.

Toby was used to a game with four balls flying around, of course, but whenever he played he only tended to have to worry about one at a time. And that was usually the quaffle. Throwing in ANOTHER one was... not a great prospect. But Toby quickly PUSHED THOSE THOUGHTS AWAY. Positive. He was remaining positive.

Well, at least BOTH of them weren't in his vicinity at the moment. All he needed to do was... watch them both.

BUT HE WAS READY. SO READY. RARRRR.

Even though it had been difficult enough with just one ball. Oop.

THINKING POSITIVE.

WhittyBitty 11-29-2014 06:09 AM

*kicks second ball towards goalpost*

Ummmm, what was Professor Hadley doing?

Lux was barely able to keep up with ONE ball and now TWO were in the mix? Some of these students were REALLY fast. Correction, most of them were. No matter though because the extra challenge was welcome and she would gladly take another opportunity to shoot at the other team's goal post.

Running towards the second ball, Lux nabbed it before anyone else could and kicked it towards the goal post.

COME ON, ZANDER. MISS THE BALL!!!!

*takes a ball to the gut*

Uh, Professor say what now? Two??? AS IF ONE BALL WAS HARD ENOUGH TO KEEP TRACK OF?? It wasn't even the fact that there were two balls that could possibly fly into the net without anything he could do to stop them. It was mostly just the prospect that he had to keep up with the two of them. Whereas, every other player on the team only really had to worry about the one ball they were dribbling, or the one ball they were running after... Zander had to watch both of them.

At the same time.

Oh, Merlin. Being goal keeper was not a good decision at all.

Not to mention the fact that all his overwhelming thoughts were oh so rudely interrupted when Lux made contact with the second ball and...

INCOMING!!!! O_______________O

This was it. His first real opportunity to LUNGE!!

And before he knew it, Zander was flying towards the ball and with a nice loud WHACK it made contact with his stomach-- which was super hurting now by the way-- but uh... On the bright side... It wasn't a goal?

The sore Gryffindor picked the ball up and somehow made it back onto his feet before throwing the ball back into play. Now erm, hopefully a Gryffindor or Slytherin player would keep it away for a few minutes while he regained feeling? Please?
