Standing close to the Black Lake are three majestic Hippogriffs- the one on the left wore a coat of bronze feathers; the middle one, was a gleaming chestnut while the one on the right was one of inky black feathers. Despite the fierce looks they give you with their bright orange eyes, they are perfectly friendly and are eagerly waiting to give you the students and even the Professors a ride (one lap) around the Lake.
So remember your manners and greet the proud Hippogriffs as required- with as much eye contact as possible and a bow. Should any of them refuse to bend their scaly legs, it would be wise for you to slowly retreat slowly. But if you are successful in gaining their trust, feel free to hop onto their backs. Just be careful not to tug on their feathers.
A couple of Prefects are there to keep an eye on things and to reward the Hippogriffs for their hard work with dead birds and small mammals stored in barrels a little distance away.
So step right up to the waiting line in front of the Hippogriff of your choice for that thrilling ride.

Adi grinned. "We do. Aren't you scared of falling off its back?" He was teasing. He'd be around so she wouldn't have to be worrying about that. "Yeah, but you wouldn't get to go for a ride with them in the sky, would you?'' That's why Hippogriffs ruled! LOL.
He playfully rolled his eyes. "Of course you do. Why am I not surprised?'' AJ was so going to be spoilt because he never minded what she did. Or wanted to do. "Again, I'm not surprised.'' He grinned.
Was everything alright? "Yeah. Just tired, I guess.'' He shoved his hand in his jeans pocket. "Go for it,'' Adi encouraged and nodded towards the Hippogriff.
AJ and scared didn't exactly go in the same sentence. "No way. I'll hold on super tight." If anything she was super excited. AJ had zero insecurities about this ride. "Besides I know you won't let me fall." And that was a fact. Adi had a point. "No, I can't but that doesn't make me love them any less." They were her everything and nothing anybody said would make her change her mind.
A few laughs escaped from deep in her throat. "I don't even know why you asked. " More teasing for the boyfriend. "If I rode in the back I wouldn't be able to see over your big head." Okay, so his head wasn't big, but he was taller than her, and she didn't wanna miss a thing.
Then Ethan arrived. "Hey, Ethan." She had never congratulated him on getting prefect. He was so deserving, and she remembered having fun with him in her first year. Nothing like dangling off the older boy's plank to make homework more fun.
AJ eyes Adi for a moment. She wasn't sure if he was telling her the complete truth about his mood, but she would make sure he was smiling before the ride was over. "It's gunna be fun, Rehman." A quick poke to the shoulder before turning her attention to the Hippogriff.
It was finally their turn, and AJ made eye contact with the Hippogriff and made extra sure not to blink. She slowly bowed her head, and the eye contact was still strong. C'mon Hippogriff, AJ was trying her hardest to be patient.
Adi returned Ethan's salute. The Slytherin seemed to be enjoying himself. Who wouldn't be? Hippogriffs...no need to say anymore. Ethan and Mari were doing a great job over here.
"Just don't pull on the poor Hippogriff's feathers. Goodness knows how mad he might get if you did that. He already has to put up with your weight.'' Adi was dying to laugh at that but instead he managed an innocent grin. He messed up her hair a bit. "You're right. I wouldn't let you."
Big head? Him? As if. "Aren't you glad though? The bigger the head, the more this awesome hair?'' LOL. He got her right back.
"I know.'' Adi grinned when AJ poked him. See? He was okay. He watched her go off towards the Hippogriff. Yep, she was doing it all right. Come on, Griff. Make a bow so they could all be on their way.

Right. Eden wasn't so observant..no. "Riiiiiiight." She smiiiiled. "Well--this looks FUN--and I'm a THRILL seeker--so we'll OBVIOUSLY be going as fast as we're ALLOWED to go." And maybe like..pffft, a LITTLE over. Her brown hair swept across her face--WIND--and she quickly brushed it away and glanced ahead anxiously. Her patience...wasn't going to BE there much longer.
AHEM.
"SO...Where's...PHE?" she asked...trying to seem..very casual..and calm about this. CASUAL. HA. Eden was like--never casual when it came to Phoenix. Did the entire school know about she and Clara and PHE? Because if so--wasn't THAT mortifying.
David chuckled. "It's alright," he said with a shrug. Wasn't like he was upset with her for using his other name after all. Especially since they didn't exactly know each other very well before now. Wasn't like she'd done it on purpose.
And then he laughed. "A thrill seeker, huh? How come you're not a Gryffindor like me then?" he said, a teasing grin on his face.
How fast did a hippogriff fly anyway? He had no idea. Didn't seem like something that would fly super fast, but then again, he didn't know. Maybe they WERE really fast. Would be cool.
And now she was asking about Phoenix. Heh. David raised an eyebrow a little in amusement and then shrugged one shoulder. "Probably around here somewhere, I guess. Not sure where he went."

Eden grinned a bit. "Well..to be honest..I was a bit disappointed I wasn't a Gryffindor...I thought it's where I fit best. " She shrugged and ran a hand through her hair. "But...well now I really like my house. But I'll always have a soft spot for lions." She winked looked ahead. HMM. David seemed like a nice kid. AND he roomed with Phe...so...HMMMMMM. She wondered...if Phoenix ever...talked about her..or Clara...or anyone...but she had to play this cool...and stuff...YEP.
Glancing at a few of the students climbing onto the Hippogriffs, she watched them...closely. She was so clumsy she'd probably fall off. -_- Yep. Getting up was the hard part-she could always just JUMP off and stuff.
"Well--he's missing out." Hmm. He was. "Are we...going to ride on the saame hippogriff?" she asked suddenly. She assumed before that they were--but--what if he wasn't think that at ALL and now thought she was a loon?! He probably already thought she was a loon..hmm...

"So. You gonna ride a hippogriff? If you die, it'll be my fault for not saving you."

There wouldn't been any hair pulling from her, scouts honor. "I'm just going to hug it tight in a bear hug." That would most likely be the safest way to not accidentally pull out a feather. AJ could go without an upset Hippogriff in mid flight. Her weight? He got a jab in the ribs for that little comment. "Your big head will be what weighs the poor creature down." Hehe. How did he like that?
That wasn't necessarily true. "That's asking a lot of your hair." To have to fill that big ol' head of his. Although, AJ would not be complaining about him having more luscious locks. No sir.
He got the eye, but she left it alone for now because they were about to have them some FUN. AJ was beginning to wonder if the hippogriff was ever going to bow. Her eyes were starting to water, and she could feel a blink coming on. As if on cue, the hippogriff bowed his head. "Finally. Let's get this show on the road."
