As you come through the trap door you will find a normal sight. Smaller tables set around the room with pillows for your chairs. A few tea pots set around the room and cups for your liking and a very happy Professor Cassie at the front sipping on her own tea waiting to greet you as you come in.
Though it is normal with the lavender scents and soft relaxing music, you will notice on one table in the front left corner the crystal balls sit waiting to be used, in the back of the room mirrors that might remind you of the awful last lesson stand, in the right front corner bowls are stacked on a table, and on Professor Cassie's desk sits crystals on a string.
Something you might not see is the usual snap cup, but fear not there is a note about that.
Quote:
My snap cup is still missing, but please bring up your proud moments and set in this tea cup! Also remember to set your personal item in the basket before taking your seat. We will discuss these in a moment.
Next to the temporary snap cup you will find a basket. If you remember on Professor Cassie's notice she had asked you to bring one personal item this is where that item should be placed.

Sipping on her tea Cassie beamed as the trap door opened. She loved her lessons, but felt this one was very important. She knew that the last lesson they had with her she wasn't herself and thankfully the queen hadn't held any other ones, but that also meant they were very behind for the term and students taking OWLs and NEWTs need information that should have been taught already. So she decided for this lesson to combine a few things and hope she could do it in a fun way.
SPOILER!!: Greetings

I am proud of doing my best at lessons and realising I know more than first thought
Sam then found herself a seat and sat down, placing her bag next to her feet.
Smiling towards the Ravenclaw that had entered, "Hello Samantha, how are you doing today?" She hoped well and she grinned seeing her place an item in the basket. This was going to be so fun!

Nevertheless, he proceeded forward so as not to block other peoples' way. He was curious to see what they'd be doing this lesson, especially since they had to bring a PERSONAL item. He ALWAYS had his personal item on his person, so that was easy enough to remember.
He was happy that the snap cup was missing, and disappointed all the same when Professor Cassie substituted it with a tea cup. Boooo... now he had to think of something.
On a scrap of parchment, Zeke quickly scrawled a modest message, and then went to submit it... along with his compass. He didn't want to give it up. He wanted to HOLD ON to it for dear life. He'd had it for ages, and never parted with it, only to shower and even then it was never at risk of being lost or stolen or... ANYTHING.
"Hi Professor Cassie!" he greeted, first dropping his parchment into the teacup, and then hesitating a moment before placing his compass into the basket. He wanted that back. WITHOUT other peoples' grubby fingerprints on them!
SPOILER!!: snap!tea cup message
I'm proud of being me, just as I am. And not failing all my subjects.
She watched this one carefully, knowing she didn't remember telling them to do the homework she found on her desk, she was a bit worried about the answer she got from Zeke. She knew he was just being creative and she loved creative, but she couldn't help but be a little worried at how detailed his creativity was. "Hello Zeke" She noticed the nervousness about his item. She wouldn't let anything bad happen to any of there things, so she just continued to smile and sip her tea.

Anyways, the Gryffindor took out his pen and wrote down his proud moment.
No lie!
Then he placed his potions book in the basket and found an empty seat. He glanced towards the Professor and without saying anything , he moved his head in a 'sup?' movement and waited.
She had come to know the sup nod well, it seemed many of the Gryffindors used it. Especially this one and that Bart fellow. So in exchange she gave him a kind smile and a little wave. "Good day Kevin."

Entering the room, she smiled at the woman. "Hello, Professor!" It was really nice to see her back to her cheery self again. Too bad about the missing snap cup though. Oh well. Quickly she jotted down her proud moment:
After placing the paper into the make-shift snap cup she headed over to the basket to place her personal item inside. On first thought, she had wanted to place either the charm Bay had made her, or the necklace he had given her but she hadn't wanted to take either off or risk anything happening to them; they meant too much to her. In the end she decided on her teddy bear. She wasn't ashamed to have a teddy bear. She loved her teddy bear.
Finding herself a seat, she sat down and waited for class to begin.
Seeing a Hufflepuff come into the room, she grinned, "Hello Lux, feeling alright today?" Rumors moved around the old castle faster then the ghost so the word that Lux was a victim to whatever was causing people to act weirdly wasn't a surprise to Cassie. She was just glad the girl was there and seeming herself.

There was the Professor, who Zhenya had not yet met. Mmm, she was sipping tea. Zhenya liked tea, and she hoped they would be drinking tea during the lesson.
"H-hello Professor. I'm Zhenya Burton, a fifth year Slytherin. I just wanted to introduce myself," she said to the Professor, hoping she was a nice one. She had a few awful Professors back in Russia, and the odd few here as well. At least she got to speak English here, though.
She walked to where she needed to deposit her items, and first pulled out her book. It was amongst the items her Grandpapi had left her in his will. It was a book about Herbology and Creatures, oddly enough, all in Russian. It was something he used almost every day to create his garden and his hobby farm. She placed it carefully into the basket, hoping no harm would come to it.
Now, her proudest moment. She took the piece of paper from her pocket and dropped it into the cup.
SPOILER!!: Proudest moment
I came back to Hogwarts even though I was frozen for five years
Yes, she was proud of that. She didn't want to, but she did. She braved the fact she wouldn't know anyone, would be hugely behind in her school work, and had a permanently damaged hand.
Oh a transfer? So late in the year, well that was exciting and scary for the girl. "Hello Zhenya, it's very nice to meet you. I hope you enjoy the lesson today." It was going to be a bit longer then usual, but fun at the same time.

The world was alive and everything was sunshine and daisies.
The Gryffindor walked in with a grand 'ole pep in her step and a kneazle tucked in her arms. Given the fact she'd lost both her wand and her candy bag, this was all that was left of her things that held any value and were thus precious to her.
Had she been thinking before, she might have slipped him some of the potion too to make him happy happy happy. "Good morning Professor!" BEAM. Yes, good day it was, a very good one. Lex walked to the table with a piece of parchment and quickly scribbled her proud moment then tossed it in with the others.
Lex eyed the basket where everyone was placing their precious items but opted to keep hers on her for the fact he was destruction and shouldn't have been allowed around other things. It was a favour really on account of how incredibly and unbelieeeevably light she felt. The Gryffindor plopped down in a seat then grinned at the people already there.
HIIIIIIIIIIII!!!
Seeing Alexa Cambridge come in, Cassie couldn't help but notice something was different about the seventh year. Though she just sipped her tea and watched. "Good Morning Alexa, you doing alright today?" She watched as she dropped her proud moment in the cup. She noticed she didn't place anything in the basket. "Alexa, please make sure you place your item with the others. It's very important for the lesson that you do. Just a necklace or something will do." If she didn't bring something, maybe she had a watch or necklace on her.

Grayson had been under the impression that there wasn't going to be any snapping today. That today was the day when they didn't have to congratulate someone for something so ridiculous, it made him roll his eyes and fear for the human race. It was why he was kinda happy as he made his way up to the North Tower.
But nooooOOOOOOOOooooo! There was a freaking REPLACEMENT.
Deadpan.
Professor Cassie was lucky that he liked her as a teacher so much because if he didn't, he wouldn't bother coming here. There was also the matter of the OWLs and the fact that his mum would kill him if he so much as got a P for any subject. So, pulling out a small piece of parchment, Grayson scribbled down his proud moment.
There. Done. He was dead proud about this tiny little fact and so, with a smug little smile spread across his face, the fifth year dropped it into the teacup. And did he bring his personal item? Yes, he did. He was kinda reluctant about this at first but he had high hopes resting on the fact that Professor Cassie would keep this tiny little thing anonymous.
Reaching into his bag, Grayson pulled out a miniature Chinese Fireball dragon. The toy usually roared and blew out a tiny jet of fake flame but at the moment, it was sleeping blissfuly, small furls of smoke blowing out from its nostrils as it snored. He watched it for a couple of seconds before gently placing it down into the basket. They were gonna get these back, right?
Shrug.
Making his way further into the classroom, the Slytherin smiled a little over at the Divination Professor and said, "Hey, Professor. Glad to see you back." Because the other evil lady had been pretty freaking rude and he hadn't expected it from someone who looked like Professor Cassie. He then waaaaaaaved and smiled at Adi, Lux and Lex before making his way towards an empty seat and sitting down.
"Ooooh Hello Greyson, yes I am glad to be back to my self too. Though I don't remember not being myself." She wasn't to unhappy that she couldn't remember though. It seemed too awful to remember. Though her liking for apples was still around and she did have a small basket near her seat. A snack later, possibly.

Then she saw the note and when she did, Jasmine smiled. Of course the Professor wouldn't let a missing cup keep her from her snaps. This time she had to think for a second about what to write on her parchment. Finally coming up with a proud moment, Jasmine folded the parchment and dropped it into the cup.
SPOILER!!: Jasmine's proud moment
I'm proud that I am strong"
Now came the hard part. They were asked to bring a personal item to class that was special to them. Jasmine had lots of things that were special to her for various reasons. The most special thing of all, well there was only one thing that fit that description. The question was, could she bear to part with it, even for a short time? Jasmine reached up and unfastened her necklace and took it from around her neck. She held it in her hand for a moment, deciding if she could go brought with it or not. Her special item was the ballerina necklace that Cris had given her for Valentine's Day.........right before he left. She had never taken it off since that day, but now she carefully closed the clasp and placed it in the basket. Then she found a seat and sat down.
Seeing another Ravenclaw come in she smiled, "Hello Jasmine, how are you dear?" She was a sweet student that Cassie was going to be sad to see leave at the end of term, but it was the way of the world and she was glad she had gotten to know her.

Hello Professor Morgan. You look very nice today and I'm glad to be here in class with you. He looked around, slightly blushing hoping no one heard what he said.
He took the parchment and quill quickly and scribbled a proud moment.
He read what he wrote and decided passionate might make it sound like he loved the professor and scratched it out and replaced it with something a little less lovey. .
He quickly folded it up and looked in his satchel. Pulling out a fishing hook that he had added a label with his name to, he dropped it in the basket. It was the first hook from the first time his dad had let him bait and catch fish on his own. It made him feel more responsible and that his dad trusted him more.
He turned and waved to the class before finding a seat and taking out the things he needed to take notes with. He closed his eyes and tried to clear his mind of all the thoughts that raced through it.
Smiling as another Hufflepuff came in, "Hello Ian, that's very sweet of you." He was always so full of compliments. Such a sweet boy. She watched as he placed his proud moment in the cup.

In the end, it had actually been remarkably easy to choose what to bring along.
"Hi Professor," the Hufflepuff grinned at Professor Morgan, noting how happy she was and feeding off her positive energy at once. He found himself giving her a little salute that was usually reserved for professors like Airey.
Tobias now paused at the snap!teacup, getting out a scrap of parchment and a self-inking quill to write his proud thought down. After a few moments of writing, he threw in his contribution, the first unfiltered thought that came to mind:
Then, the Hufflepuff rifled through his schoolbag for his personal item, finally pulling out the pair of fairy wings he'd received from Wade from his thirteenth birthday. They were human-sized, of course, and the ones that Toby could occasionally be seen wearing around the castle, and also dropped glitter all over the place. They were incredibly special to Toby.
After carefully tucking the wings into the basket (and maybe probably sorta accidentally getting a little bit of residual glitter on the desk and basket and some of the things in the basket), Toby went off to sit down. He found himself drawn to a seat right by Grayson, his fellow fifth year, and flashed the Slytherin a smile in greeting.
Who else was here? Toby couldn't see Soph yet, but he figured it was possible that when she showed up she'd be taking a seat by him. The Hufflepuff got out his note-taking things and surveyed the room, absently brushing away the glitter that was still on his hands.
Seeing Toby come into the room, she was glad hew as there. He had helped her recently to figure out some of the confusion of the last month. "Hello Toby, it's so good to see you today." She beamed as he placed his proud moment in the tea cup knowing how he liked the snap cup.

She stopped by the snap tea cup. Good impromptu on the snap cap, professor. She quickly wrote down her proudest moment and placed a sketchbook into the basket with the others personal items. Then she headed over to Lux to it sit with her.

She made a beeline for where the other personal items already were since she thought she was cutting it close to class starting, dropping off hers with the rest of them in the basket, and offering the professor a smile and a little wave of her hand. "Hi, professor."
There was no proper snap cup, she saw, so she jotted down a little note and added it to the teacup with the others.
They WERE students of Hogwarts, so really, it WAS pretty impressive that each and every one of them in the room currently had their health and weren't already dead or something. She was super grateful for that. Heh.
Taking a seat next to Tobes, she gave him a big ol' grin and got out her class materials. READY TO GO.
Seeing Sophie walk in with the cute little plush Cassie smiled, "I have a goofy one just like that I got a few years ago on a trip." It had been a fun trip they even rode a muggle plan that her brother was driving, or at least that's what she thought you called those people that did that. Anyway, "It's good to see you today Sophie." Yes she was always happy to see her students.

Seeing Eden walk in next she gave the girl an encouraging smile. She assumed everything was alright between them now, but Merlin she had told the girl to go to the dungeons, like a detention. She gave the lion a swift kiss on its furry head and patted him softly before placing him in the basket. Nobody had seen that, right? She was THIRTEEN whole years old now, and thirteen year olds did NOT kiss stuffies in public. But Larry was special, so he deserved it. Duh.

As in maybe it didn't make sense to hold out hope of it being found. But then maybe he was mistaken in all the drama of that crazy lesson. Whatever the case, he took up a piece of parchment and soon his quill was scratching out a thing he himself was proud of. His school work so far this year.

As he walked in, he smiled at his Professor and waved a quick hello before making it to the usual table with the snapcup thing. Except, didn't she break that while erm, under whatever influence that she said she was under? Yeah. Pity. Except... They still had to write something? Merlin. And he thought he'd gotten away. Quickly scribbling something onto the paper, he slipped his sheet on top of the others in the pile.
It had taken a lot of will power, okay?
And then. Then he saw the other pile. The pile of things. OH merlin. In his rush to get to class, he had COMPLETELY forgotten all about the special item they were supposed to bring. He hadn't double checked the notice board before running out, okay!! So instead of a personal item per-say, the Gryffindor Quickly removed one of his shoes and pulled off a sock. Carefully slipping it into the pile he threw his shoe back onto the ground, slipped his foot back in and ran to go take a seat by Kevin.
A sock could be pretty personal too, right? For all Professor Morgan knew... It could've been a lucky one? Had he a lucky sock of course. Uhum. Right.
Seeing Zander come in she knew the boy had been having a hard time this term, the potion, then seeing Professor Culloden acting funny. So she gave him and encouraging smile as he placed his proud moment in the cup. "Hello Zander, doing well I hope."
Now that it seemed like everyone was there she was going to start. "Well the first thing I want to do is apologize for what happened last lesson and the lack of lessons since. I do not remember anything about being the queen as some of you have told me, so what all went on in this room, lets just pull it out of our minds and start fresh today." She tried to give an encouraging smile, "Now as you can see this is not the usual snap cup, from my understanding it had been broken, then fixed, and is now missing. Don't worry it will be found." If not she would make a new one this summer, no worries at all. "Thanks to Penelope I do have last class snaps in the cup as well. So we will be hearing all of them as well." She didn't want their proud moments being left unsnapped.
Pulling out each parchment one at a time she began to read, "I am proud that Ravenclaw is in second place in the House points race." Snapping after each one was read. "I'm proud that I remembered to brush my hair this morning. I'm proud of representing Gryffindor in Gobstones and winning. I'm proud that I'm a smart cookie." After the last one was read and her snapping was done she set the cup aside.
"Now in the first few lesson we did scrying with the crystal ball, we were suppose to move on to scrying with mirrors and then bowls of water, but unfortunately that didn't go as planned. So we are going to take a moment to review and go over the other forms right now." She moved back towards the mirrors. "Now just as the crystal ball the mirror shows a reflective glass, but with just our reflections can anyone tell me how you would scry in a mirror?" She glanced int he mirror adjusting her Libra necklace as she waited for the answer.
ooc: I always go by the thought that there are lessons all through the term. Just in RP world we don't have time to do weekly or daily so when she see her say previous lessons that's why it seems more then just the two!!

Ian smiled at the professor's response to him.
When the class began, Ian listened to Cassie with affection in his heart and mostly likely a goofy smile on his face. She reviewed the recent misfortunes and then began the review of the previous classes. At her question, Ian raised his hand. Professor, glass helps us to see through that vessel. Mirrors are different because they are reflective. Perhaps we scry to focus more on what we can divine about ourselves. He had tried to do a 'little' research on his own as he looked to divination as a vocation.

Adi watched Benny enter the room then drop his proud moment and stuffed dragon off. He wondered if the proud moment involved anything with Angel and was about to make a joke about that the moment the Lion sat down beside him. But then he remembered. No joking. Instead, Adi bit his tongue then said, "Hey, back at you.'' Gosh. Holding back jokes were DIFFICULT!
............................
Fortunately, Professor Cassie was getting started. Adi was sorry to hear about the missing snap cup. He wanted it back. This one currently being used just did not cut it. Anyway...the proud moments were being read. He smiled a bit as he watched the Divination lady. Maybe he was imagining stuff but she didn't seem to have returned to her usual bouncy self.
Hmmm...this question. Adi thought about it for a bit before raising his hand. "We look for anything out of the ordinary about our reflection,'' he suggested. Like if you were actually standing still but your reflection was suddenly waving at you. LOL.
A Goofy one, huh? Yeah... the professor seemed like the type to prefer Goofy over Mickey Mouse. A bit of a silly one, she was, and Sophie just smiled politely at the professor's words.
The woman was silly, yes, but nice. Very nice.
As class got started properly, Sophie made herself comfortable, setting her notebook out in front of her to take notes and looking attentive. Until... the woman talked about scrying with mirrors. What? That was an ACTUAL thing? It was a REAL form of divination? The queen hadn't been entirely clueless?
Merlin. Soph just thought the woman made it up. Just went to show up how much SHE paid attention and read her textbook outside of class. Heh.

Awwww, Professor Cassie was so sweet. Lux thought she was wonderful. "I am much better, Professor." Giving the woman a smile, she would have asked the same thing herself but then moving forward was mentioned. Well, Lux could definitely understand that, because she herself wanted forget about being possessed by Ariel and breaking down in Arithmancy.
The snap cup moments continued without the usual enthusiasm. Hopefully the real one would be found soon because the make-shift one was not cutting it. Real shame because like Professor Cassie, she really enjoyed hearing those moments. It was a chance for everyone to share something they were proud about and there was nothing wrong with that in her eyes.
When scrying with mirrors was mentioned, Lux wasn't too surprised. Honestly she had a feeling that it was a real thing though she had no clue how it worked since the Queen was such a lousy teacher. Not having an answer, she decided to remain quiet and. Let others give it a shot. Maybe some actually knew.
HER PROUD MOMENT, IT HAD BEEN READ! Norah grinned at Professor Cassie and bounced a little on her pillow. Woooot.
So mirror scrying was a real thing? The second year had tried to block that entire class from her memory, and no information about mirror scrying was coming back to her. Sigh. She watched Ian as he answered the question, raising an eyebrow at his silly grin. What was up with him? Turning back to face the front, Norah put her hand in the air and said "I think you have to relax and do that whole breathing thing to clear your emotions just like in the crystal ball type of scrying." That made sense, right? Trying to calm down had pretty much been the only thing she had done in the last class, anyway.
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Wasn't that reeeeally nice of her to ask how she was doing?? Wasn't it? Wassssn't it?? Lex grinned, giving a few firm nods of her head. "I'm splendid Professor, absolutely wonderful and I hope you are toooo!" Because everyone deserved to be happy, especially on such a nice day. Gosh it was almost like the furniture was singing. If you were mad quiet enough, chances were you could hear them too.
Oh but it was important Felix be IN the basket for class reasons. Well far be it for her to go getting in the way of this steady flow thingy that they would be having. The Gryffindor wiggled a bit in her seat to displace her kneazle then snapped in the direction of the basket. "Basket Felix, sit there." Lex watched with a wiiiide smile as Felix lazily sauntered over to the table, hopped up and curled up in the basket. Didn't seem like he'd be going to sleep but he was comfy enough for the moment. Good good.
"I don't have a necklace with me Professor, but no worries,I value my kneazle more anyway." So, see? Nothing to worry about. Precious item present.
BEAM.
As for mirror scrying, hahahaha she had NO idea. Hadn't she and Grayson made something up last class? That was hardly the answer, she was sure.

Toby couldn't help but notice the item Zahra placed into the basket, and it made him grin super big, though Z herself wasn't looking too enthusiastic today. He'd tried to catch her eye and spread the smiling to her, bit wasn't certain if she'd noticed him.
Smiles for the professor too, 'cause she was always so happy and nice. Except when she was that queen type person, of course, but shhhhhh not thinking about that, shhhhh.
After the snapping and the start of the lesson, Toby started working on his notes at once. Even though he was putting himself under a lot less pressure these days with his OWLs, there was still that niggling thought at the back of his mind that went on about wanting as many O grades as possible. So, of course, he wanted to get as much into these notes as possible.
Toby didn't know the answer here, but figured he could give it a good guess, and so raised his hand.
"Is it more or less the same process as with the crystal balls? Getting super relaxed and not thinking about anything and then focusing on the mirror. When we used the crystal balls they all clouded over when we got into the zone and started scrying, 'cause we had to look for things in the fog. I dunno if it's the same with mirrors." A pause, and then he added, as though in afterthought. "Is it something to do with the items we put in the basket?"
Kace smiled and was glad the Professor liked being back to normal. He nodded and beamed and thought he would have fun with this lesson today. As he heard the SNAC moments being read out loud he snapped with the rest of the class. He thought this idea was cute. It helped show off the pride whether you are a firstie or a seventh year. But now onto last lesson. He heard the professor mention about mirror scrying and how you would do it? He remembered from last lesson all too well.
Kace raised his hand and offered what he learned, "Professor I learned that you need to clear your mind of all distractions and focus on what you want to see in the mirror. It is just all about control and I think it is easier to see in the mirror than looking through the fog in the crystal ball.." he shrugged offering his own opinion.
Angel raised her hand. "Professor... don't you have to clear your mind and then just stare into the mirror and wait until something happens." Angel had no idea if she was right or not. "We also have to make sure that everything is working great and that no one is distracting you."

The snap cup apparently had been through a lot. AJ wondered if maybe somebody had stole it, although she couldn't see WHY anybody would want it. The lion listened as the professor went over everyone's proud moments. A few even received a chuckle from her. People say the darndest things.
Ah, well AJ didn't know the answer to her question, but she did have a question of her own. The second year waved her hand around in the air. "How do you concentrate when you have to stare at yourself?" It was very distracting to her the last time AJ had tried it. All she could do was concentrate on how brown her eyes were and how bad her hair needed to be brushed.

She smiled at Professor Cassie, who sounded lovely, then went to find her seat.
Professor Cassie began talking about something… being a queen? Zhenya was confused, but then remembered something about a fairy tail book possessing people. Right. Well forgetting it wouldn't be a problem for Zhenya, she wasn't even there in the first place. Professor Cassie wanted to start fresh, and fresh was all Zhenya knew.
Snap cup? What in Merlin's beard was a snap cup? She had overheard a few students speaking about it, but she didn't know. Maybe she would ask the Professor after class. If it was missing, maybe she could help try and find it for her.
She sat there quietly, enjoying the ambiance, listening to all of the proud moments, then listened to what Professor Cassie was saying about the previous lessons. She wasn't there, so she took notes on what had been happening so that she could study them later. For her exams. Gulp.
Scrying, she wrote, and underlined it. She had a vague understanding of scrying. But scrying with a mirror? Wouldn't it be similar to other ways, except of course that there would be more things to be distracted by? She raised her hand and said, unsure about her answer, "Well scrying in a mirror might be quite hard because the person doing it might be distracted by everything reflected in the mirror," because, you know, there was less to focus on in a crystal ball or water… "The person scrying might have to put themselves into a deeper trance, to block out from noticing the reflections, and look deeper into what messages they could see." Well, even if she was totally wrong, a guess was still better than nothing.
Smiling towards the Ravenclaw that had entered, "Hello Samantha, how are you doing today?" She hoped well and she grinned seeing her place an item in the basket. This was going to be so fun!
She had come to know the sup nod well, it seemed many of the Gryffindors used it. Especially this one and that Bart fellow. So in exchange she gave him a kind smile and a little wave. "Good day Kevin."
Oh a transfer? So late in the year, well that was exciting and scary for the girl. "Hello Zhenya, it's very nice to meet you. I hope you enjoy the lesson today." It was going to be a bit longer then usual, but fun at the same time.
"Hello Adi" she beamed at the prefect as he came into the room. Getting a refill on her tea she tried to start clearing her mind for the lesson. "I hope you are doing well today." It was very important all her students were doing well.
Seeing another Ravenclaw come in she smiled, "Hello Jasmine, how are you dear?" She was a sweet student that Cassie was going to be sad to see leave at the end of term, but it was the way of the world and she was glad she had gotten to know her.
Smiling as another Hufflepuff came in, "Hello Ian, that's very sweet of you." He was always so full of compliments. Such a sweet boy. She watched as he placed his proud moment in the cup.
Seeing Toby come into the room, she was glad hew as there. He had helped her recently to figure out some of the confusion of the last month. "Hello Toby, it's so good to see you today." She beamed as he placed his proud moment in the tea cup knowing how he liked the snap cup.
"Cinna.. Hello" She couldn't help but feel something was off about the girl. "Are you feeling alright?" Not seeing the boy that usually was with her, Cassie hoped it was nothing to do with him, but maybe he was just running late today.
Yes, yes another saying about her being back to normal, "So am I Kace, so am I. It's good to see you in class today. I hope you are ready for some fun." Well she thought it would be fun at least. Maybe they would think differently.
See another Gryffindor walk into the room she smiled, "Hello Zahra, it's so good to see you today." Without any memory of the last class she didn't have a clue Zahra wasn't there and just felt bad for all of them for being with that queen that she thought she was.
Smiling as another prefect walked through the trap door she couldn't help but notice many of them seemed a bit more sluggish then normal. "Hello Marigold, you feeling alright?" Were they all getting sick? She hoped not being the end of term. So much fun during the end of the term, the excitement of almost being done, the end of the year feast, the cup. No not a good time at all to be sick.
Seeing Eden walk in next she gave the girl an encouraging smile. She assumed everything was alright between them now, but Merlin she had told the girl to go to the dungeons, like a detention. That was the worst for Cassie. "Hello Eden, how are you today?" Looking at her watch, it was almost time to start.
"Hello Norah, how are you today?" She seemed to be doing well at least. Watching as she put her proud moment in and made her way to her seat. Cassie got up from her own seat and set down her tea cup. It was close to time to start.
"Hello Benny, how are you today?" She watched as the boy came into the room setting his proud moment in the cup and his item in the basket. It was going to be such a lovely day for a lesson. A nice warm day outside, this was lucky for them.
Seeing Penelope come in she gave a smile, "Hello Penelope, how are you today?" When she asked about the cup, Cassie lost her bright smile just a little. "Yes, I have, but just no luck. It has to be around here somewhere. Don't worry I'll find it." It just had to be placed somewhere that she couldn't think of at the moment.
Seeing a quiet Gryffindor walk in, Cassie just gave Heather a smile and a wave. If she didn't want to talk she didn't have to and she watched as she did her proud moment. "Dear don't forget your item in the basket. It is very important that everyone places something in this basket or today's lesson will not work. I can promise you nothing will happen to any of them." No need to worry.
Eden looked up and smiled at Professor Morgan. "I'm all right today, thanks, Professor." She said with a nod her way. So the nice lady was back to normal and BACK to being Eden's favorite professor--besides Professor Walton, of course. Morgan was just a lot nicer. Heh.
She listened....pulled out her notebook, and scribbled the date before putting down her qulll. She had NO idea how to scry. Last class hadn't been too helpful and Eden thought it was by sheer LUCK she had even seen something in the mirror. Hmph. But she raised her hand regardless. "Um...like with crystal balls, you REALLY have to clear your head, don't you?" And that was all Eden had. "Oh--don't you have to think really hard about what you want to see in the mirror?" She thought she...recollected that. Or something.

Oh look! He was joined by Tobias Tempus! Good company? He certainly hoped so. Dude was smart and cool too, so that was a bonus. Nonetheless, Grayson smiled and nodded over at the Hufflepuff when he came to sit down beside him. Eden received a smile as well because she was cool as well.
Was it incredibly awful of him to wish that the Snap Cup didn't make a return? Good. Then he was incredibly awful. It didn't stop them from having to snap people for their proud moments, though, which caused Grayson to scowl and reluctantly clap for each moment mentioned. Some were alright. He didn't MIND, it was simply a ridiculous notion.
Again, Professor Cassie was lucky that he liked her as a teacher cause otherwise, it would be harder for him to overlook what had happened during that other lesson. So, shrugging, he was gonna forget all about it and, instead, concentrate on the question. Scrying, eh? Using a mirror?
"Do you have to think of it as looking into a very still stretch of water? And concentrate hard on your question?" And wasn't this the same as looking into a crystal ball since, essentially, it was all glass anyways.
Yeah. Since that potions lesson that she was a little too happy in. She had been really really bleh. She really didn't know what she felt like this. Anyway she just made the best out of her mood or whatever it was. She noted Cassie's concerned voice in her tone when she asked if she was alright. The lioness nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine, just tired." To be completely Honest lately she had really buckled down with the lessons and homework. Which have been exhausting her out so much.
Class time! Whoop whoop. Question time. Mmmm. Everyone was saying the things that she was thinking. She raised her hand. "A clear mind. Clear your mind and lots positive vibes." Which was something that she really needed to work on given her current mood or whatever it was. Also. "I believe Toby is on to something about the personal items you asked us to bring." Nod. Nod.
Or maybe her mood was that she just needed to wake up more. Or something. Who knew she was starting to feel a bit better now. Only a bit.

Well, even if she was totally wrong, a guess was still better than nothing.
"Very good Zhenya, It is harder, but you do the same focusing things. Some will stand off to the side a bit to be less distracted and it's always good not to have so much behind you for the mirror to pick up." she was getting snaps for such a great answer.

"Yes Eden clearing your mind is fantastic." She got snaps, but then a side note Cassie had to make sure she knew, "Really thinking about one think could possibly make your mind clouded and not open to see what is needed. Now if you are in search of something you might want to keep it in your thoughts, but not make it your main focus." She knew that was a bit confusing, but he would try to clear it up in a bit.

"That is a very good way of putting it Grayson, but just as the crystal balls you are just looking into the glass. Though if that helps clear your mind, then certainly thinking of it as a still strip of water would be perfect." Snaps for Grayson as well.

To be completely Honest lately she had really buckled down with the lessons and homework.
Only a bit.
"Toby could be on to something, but it doesn't have to do with scrying just yet. Good guess though." Cinna got smiles and snaps as well.
Walking in front of the mirror Cassie looked at it for a few moments before turning to the class. "Now with the crystal ball I said that you find a connection with it. There is a sense of owner ship with it, but with the mirrors it's a different style of connection. You want to clear your mind just like the crystal ball. Have nothing clouding her inner eye from awakening." She closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths.
"Now once you have your mind cleared and your inner eye open, my advice is to stand not directly in front of it, but just off to the side. You might want to turn the mirror so just the wall is showing. This will help you stay less distracted. Now as you look into the mirror you should start to see a foggy like transformation before the visions start to come." Looking back at the mirror she went silent for a bit. "Oh look I see Snow White and she's singing a cute little song." She chuckled not even able to get it all out, "I'm kidding I'm kidding. See I can have some fun with the awful situation. No, really I saw Grayson at the lake and Eden at the stables." Interesting, maybe it had some meaning to them or would in the future.
"Now over here I have some bowls. What do you think the bowls have to do with scrying?"

Right. Well that made sense, and Zhenya was surprised she hadn't realised it. Just stand to the side… durrr!! She quickly scrawled that down into her notebook to remember. She was slightly fluberghasted with the Professor. She hadn't been in class when she was…the Queen, but who on earth was Snow White? She didn't want to be rude and point out to the professor that, yes indeed - snow WAS white. Obviously the Professor knew that.
And then she laughed.
Well of course she knew the snow was white. But just because snow was white, that didn't make it a female? Maybe she was talking about a person? Zhenya shrugged it off.. maybe she was seeing something. No? Hmm.. well, anyway.
Bowls and scrying? Well, bowls held things; food, keys, lollies, soup… she raised her hand, "Er, Professor, would the bowls be used to put water in and then to scry with the water?" she asked.
Hugh was skeptical about Divination as a subject. Mostly because it was not logical and, therefore, studying for it was more throwing ideas at a wall and hoping it stuck. But TODAY he was feeling optimistic and a little dizzy from hanging upside down off his bed like a bat for a majority of the day before that he didn't think much about how illogical this all was.
He simply went with it.
"Yo, you put water in the bowl and then use it to scry. Or try to, of course." SKEPTISM was at an all time low today.

Heather had reluctantly put her necklace in the basket and sat back down, but she was too distracted by watching the basket to even hear the next question much less answer it. Especially once a KNEAZLE made it's way into it. That creature was half cat, and cats tended to like shiny things. Her necklace was a shiny thing. So major amounts of anxiety over here, even though Professor Cassie had put a protective spell over the objects. Eyeballs are on you, kneazle. "You put water in it and try to scry." Eyeballs still on the cat-like creature.
EYEBALLS ON KNEAZLE.

Ah, here we are then. Since that other lesson, Toby HAD wondered how on earth scrying in mirrors worked, and here they were about to find out. He took down as many notes as possible as Professor Morgan went through it all. He froze for a moment as she mentioned seeing Snow White, and his eyes widened slightly, but it turned out that Professor Morgan was JUST KIDDING, and so Toby relaxed again. He did glance at Grayson and Eden as they were mentioned being seen in the mirror, and then looked back to the professor again.
Okay, so... bowls. Hmm. Up Toby's hand went.
"Maaaaybe it's so you fill them up with soap and water and then clean the thing you're scrying with," the Hufflepuff suggested, once again casually forgetting that magic was a thing, and then he was, oh, you know, a WIZARD. Just thinking outside the box, y'know, in case it wasn't the obvious answer.
SHE HAD BEEN RIGHT?! Crazy. Norah gave Professor Cassie big smile at the praise. Scrunching up her nose, she contemplated the next question. Bowls? What the other students were saying about the water made sense, so she put her hand in the air to add to what they had said. "If you do but water in it, you probably have to look at the water until you see an image that isn't just a reflection? Like in the mirror?" Riiight? That was probably just a reiteration of everyone else, but she HAD tried. And anyway, she could never count on more than one right answer per class, she just didn't know that much. Darn young age. Hmph.
From the corner of her eye, she watched appreciatively as Professor Cassie cast a spell to protect Larry from that kneazle. She smiled at the professor again, pleased that SOMEBODY understood that stuffed lions were far too important to be scratched up by just anything.

Listening to Professor Cassie, everything made perfect sense. Duh. Why hasn't she figured that out on her own? Sometimes she could be so slow. Shaking her head at her silliness, Lux recorded notes on what she was being told. Even though she didn't hold much with Divination didn't mean that notes wouldn't be valuable.
The mention of Snow White got her attention.
REALLY?!
But of course it was a joke. LOL. Good one. Lux was pleased to see that Professor Cassie was able to joke about what had happened to her. Maybe she would get to that point too. That would be wonderful. The mention of using a bowl was interesting. Raising her hand, she gave a guess. "Maybe if you fill the bowl with water, it can be used for scrying too."

As usual, Jasmine listened and wrote notes. She had had lots of questions about scrying with mirrors during the last class.....like was it even possible? Apparantly it was. Then a question was asked about scrying and bowls. Jasmine raised her hand to provide an answer.
I think that you would fill the bowls with water. Then you could perform scrying by looking into the water. It would be the same concept as when you are scrying with a mirror. You look into it, but not directly into it and see images.....that is if it's working for you."

Marigold's eyes were watering because blinking hurt with her eyelash wedged somewhere in the corner of her eye. Ouch. She snapped along during the readings, then settled comfortably to take notes. More scrying? Hm. Maybe that would be the practical on their OWLs. Welp. More notes.
"Water can be used as a reflective surface." Though it wasn't much of a surface, hm. Did that count? It wasn't solid, but it shared reflective properties.
