He wasn't too thrilled about the no-eyebrows part. His face was going to be totally naked for one day, but he supposed that was the price to pay to get this beard removed. If only he could sneak some of that potion into French's coffee and have all HIS hair removed. Yes, yes. Good. Hah! "Thanks, professor Lafay," he said, his eyes shifting from the bottle to her. Lucian turned to Sophie and raised his eyebrows. "We should go and...apply it I guess," he suggested, not mentioning nothing about money. He wouldn't get charged, right? Because he's saving up for a hippogriff and even though his family didn't lack money, his parents were trying to teach him the value of money. Pfft. If you have money, then spend it. Why save it? |
"You all still here?" She said looking at the boy. "Go.... All of you..." She said looking at Alexander's Grandaughter... |
Sorry, I was giving Bubbles a chance to reply. ^_^ Text Cut: Droo So her question hadn't been answered, but...the potions mistress seemed kind of in a hurry. She'd just have to do a bit of research before taking the potion, that was all. Sophie just nodded once. There really wasn't anything else to say. Soooo... She looked toward Lucian, waiting to see if there was anything else he wanted to add. Text Cut: Bubbles Again, Sophie just nodded. There was another student in here with them, which sort of made things just odd. On one hand, the girl just witnessed a pretty embarrassing conversation; and for two, it was sort of awkward just sticking around when someone else was obviously wanting to talk to the professor, too. "Right," she said, "let's go." Text Cut: Droo Then before she could even turn on the spot and head for the door, her grandmother was practically pushing them out the door. Well, not really, but her words just said it all. Sheesh. The matter with the other student must be pretty urgent. She passed Lucien an unreadable look then made her way out the door. |
If Cutty knew nothing else about Professor Hecate Lafay he knew from her reminding him to offer a greeting upon entering her potions class and her addressing him as Master Mordaunt, a title he would've liked to see others adopt just for amusements sake, that she was apparently old school. And, he surprised even himself when he remembered to stand in front the chair rather than take a seat before his Potions Professor. He let a self-congratulatory thought of arrogance show itself upon his monkey-smile. But just for a moment before he pulled himself into his reality. He had been thus far wordless, until... "Thank you for seeing me, Professor Lafay." |
As Hecate walked in after the boy, she went behind her desk, her robes billowing behind her. She noticed the boy was standing and waiting for her to sit. She also hid her surprise when the boy thanked her for seeing him. She motioned to the uncomfortable seat before her as if to say wordlessly, go on, sit. "What do I owe this visit?" which is more that she usually offers. |
Cutty took a seat on the uncomfortable chair, his expression falling from the over-confident one he'd been wearing to one of blankness as he seemed to register the slightly violating discomfort of said piece of furniture. Best make this quick. "I want to know how you put the little girl in the bubble." Because I have a pestilential Ravenclaw born with rubber maxillary so that her jaw may never close without again opening and all knowledge that attempt to penetrate does quickly rebound. "I think it would be very...useful." Yes. We're going to call it 'useful'. "And." He began seriously. "I want to know how to make someone a prefect." Not 'How do I become a prefect?' or even, 'How does one get to be a prefect?'. In fact he had asked this question as if there were a recipe for it. A potion of sorts. Something into which you could fold two occamy eggs, beat for six minutes, let simmer for day and badda-bing! Prefect. |
If Hecate wore glasses she'd have looked at the boy above the frame of them... but she didn't wear them so she just raised both eyebrows and sighed. "You want to know how I enclosed my daughter in a protective bubble?" She clarified and then quickly answered. "With a charm." she said sarcastically. "If you wish to know which charm, I shall have to direct you to your charms professor, Professor Fuller. I don't teach charms, just as I wouldn't expect him to teach you a potion." She said rather dryly. Useful or not, she wasn't about to step on the new guy's toes. "As for making someone prefect... Your question is odd. You need to be a Head of House to make someone a prefect..." She wasn't sure why the boy worded the question the way he did... but she continued, "A student is eligible to become a prefect, if that student is involved with their house mates, and gets involved around the school. Furthermore, that student needs to be someone who isn't in detention often, demonstrates maturity and that does well with schoolwork." She drew a piece of parchment from a drawer and scribbled something on it, then tucked that parchment into the drawer again. "Was that all, Master Mordaunt?" |
Cutty's head gave a small confirming nod when his Potions Professor clarified, then he hung onto to the seat preparing for a spectacular piece of information. It may not have been what the boy would call spectacular, but it was information nonetheless. And any was better than none. In fact, this might have turned out to be more fruitful than originally intended. He knew now that if he wanted to study cross-disciplinary magic it would be on his own shoulders, although he had noticed that Batty Bentley had taught them a fair share of charms already. Perhaps there was something in this, or perhaps there was nothing at all. Whatever the reasons behind this information, Cutty would still know more coming out than he did going in and that ultimately was the reason he came. The next bit of information did prove to be spectacular for the boy and he listened with great attention. He waited for his Professor to finish speaking, then followed up with something that sounded too naive to have come from Cutty Mordaunt. "So, someone like Cassia Somerlad." At least, to those who knew him or even anyone that had spent enough time with the bandar-log. "Got it. Erm, I mean, understood." He self-corrected not wanting to sound quite THAT casual in front of her just now. "Yes, Professor Lafay. Thank you." He uttered plainly wearing the faintest smile as his mind had begun the race that it often did when he was exposed to information he found interesting. "May I be excused?" He sort of could not wait to depart from that uncomfortable chair that was becoming entirely too familiar for his liking. |

That, or all the knocking happening on her door. You have a Cambridge to thank for that, Lafay. Mega emergency indeed. "I'm not even sorry to bother you, Professor, but please do excuse the loudness...," side glance to the Gryffindor, "...this is an emergency of sorts...," though not for the reason Lex had stated. Ironically, they were gonna take away her boyfriend, but Lottie was certain Lex will be glad in the end. And angry, very angry. This was simple. "We need an antidote for a love potion." Gestures to Alexa Cambridge. She wasn't even gonna hide it. Lex would probably be offended, though, since she was BLINDINGLY IN LOVE WITH A FRENCH BOY, who wasn't Sébastien, by the way. |
Wait...what about Hades...? Eh, probably wasn't that important in the first place. Not like she was saying stuff about Gaston. Then it would have been different and Lex would definitely have been paying more attention. Would she need to tell the Professor just how wonderful her true love was? Maybe. That would have helped her understand why Lex didn't care about this Hades character. Anywho, Lottie was getting on with whatever business she'd dragged her down her to sort out. An antidote to a love potion?? "That's it!" Lex suddenly had like one of those epiphany thingies! Of course. It all made sense now!! "Lottie, you're a genius!" She pulled the girl into a hug for such clever thinking before turning to the Professor, fully grasping the situation now. "We need it for Sarah and Claudette. I think someone might have given them a love potion now they're up in the grandstands making googly eyes at my one true and complete love Gaston. Can you believe them Professor? It's obvious he loves me and not them but they're so blinded by what I imagine must be a really strong potion because they won't see reason. I set one of them's Gaston placard on fire but she just started waving that around and don't get me started on Sarah. Poor girl. She's doesn't stand a chance with all her braniac Ravenclaw talk and fake Gryffindor posterior." Ugh. She would have to thank her bestie for this opportunity later. Lafay could help them for sure. "We'll need the strongest thing you have. They need saving and to keep their grubby little fingers off, you know???" |

Screaming again?! Hold on a moment... And she went to open the door again to let the other screaming student in. |
Oh, for crying out loud! What?! Yes, Lottie is a genius, yet she did not think of that! It would've made the trip to the dungeons even easier than it was, though, and probably a lot FASTER. But, well, whatever, she's still a genius. She ignored, IGNORED, her best friend's ramble and, hey, yo, Lafay! Where are you goiiiing?! Oh. Was that another one of Gaston's victim's at the door? Possibly. Talk about timing. This will only set them back, do you have any idea how much Lottie needs Lex right now, Lafay? Like, normal Lex? Probably not. Lottie still talked, because the Professor was still around and paying attention. Merlin. "Someone not from this school, obviously." Obviously. There was something about pointing fingers at people that she didn't like, so she remained quiet, especially when the answer was so extremely obvious since Lex had already mention the idiot's name. "Cambridge is under it, too. But I reckon you'll have to brew more, Professor." Juuuust in case. Cambridge. Ouch. |
The Professor was confused but she could clear everything right up--or wait for the Professor to get the door first. Sure. Okay. She was KINDA IN A HURRY HERE!! Had to get back to her love before he finished his task. Lex was his support!!!! Excuuuuuuse you??? Alexa rolled her eyes at Lottie's words. "I'm not under a love potion. My love for Gaston is completely real." And now she would explain even as the Professor let someone else in. Was that Sarah? What in Merlin's beard was she doing down here? Sigh, it was just as well. Sarah needed fixing so she would get her mind of her Frenchie. "Sarah Edwards, Professor," Lex raised a hand pointing at the girl, "she's one of the girl's trying to steal my boyfriend. She's been given a love potion of some sort and the other is still up in the stands I'm guessing. You have to set her straight now, she honestly thinks Gaston likes her. Pfft." Also, we're watching you Lottie. How could you think she would swallow such poison? It just wouldn't happen. Never. Nope. "Now the most important name is Gaston. He gave me a bag of candy and a list of people to give them to, but Kat declined and Min was spouting some rubbish about the candy's being tainted. As if the most amazing and perfect boy in the entire world would spike candy." Candy of all things!! "Clearly she's wrong but anywho, can you fix Sarah?" |
Sarah walked in, she had stolen a quick look at her watch, time was of essence. "Listen Lex, currently I am going to go along with whatever ou way, as there is no point arguing with you." Gaston liked Sarah after all, not Lex. As Sarah was cleverer than Alexa and Gaston was clever too. "But what I do know is that I cannot think of his pretty face during my task as I have to concentrate in order to do Hogwarts proud and show Gaston that his love is not wasted on me". Love Potion? "I am not that stupid to take love potion, I only accept food from people I trust," Blonde moment here, she had forgotten by now that the chocolates she got from Alexa were originally from Gaston. "Professor, I want a potion that will get me to keep my mind off Gaston. Do you have something for that?" Sarah asked, |

"Cambridge?" She said and turned to the other girl. Quote:
WHY DIDN'T CHILDREN UNDERSTAND SHE. DID. NOT! LIKE. THEM! Merlin! And then she mentioned the boy's name and that she gave her candy... "Miss Cambridge, you need a refresher on the lesson 'do not take candy from strangers' it seems..." And then the other one started talking! Quote:
Merlin! "Here! Take it..." She said pulling her wand out and summoning a box from a cupboard. "That's the Amortensia antidote... it should work on all love potions." And the box went straight to the Hufflepuff's hands. "All of you should take it, just in case... Now GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!!!" And again with a wave of her wand she opened the door. |
Hufflepuffs are evil, yo! Completely real. Yeah, right, we can see how real it is. 'Now the most important name is Gaston.' Couldn't agree more! If they had someone to blame here it would be Gaston. Can you fix Lex? Who was Sarah? Oh, that was Sarah. Well, whatever. And then Lafay lost it. And that's when Lottie realized she had more patience than Lafay. Also, too loud, but you're definitely up to par with Airey thanks to this, Potions Mistress. Thankfully, she's a Hogwartian, so she'll use her powers for good. 'All of you should take it...' Well, was Lafay a mind reader too? Because a potion wouldn't help Lottie. The girl was about to say something when...okay, fine, we're getting out of her office, no problem. "Thanks, Professor." Yup. "Come on, Lex." And Sarah too, if she wanted to, but Lottie was merely helping her best friend here. And...Wisteria out. |
Ugh, would someone just shut Sarah up?? Lex wanted to tell her that NO ONE cared but they had to focus here to get Lottie what she'd come for so Lex would be very much keeping her comments to herself. Silly silly Sarah, having bad thoughts about her boyfriend. Didn't she know better? Wasn't she just lucky Lex wasn't the type to hold grudges. The Fourth Year would be happy to overlook this whole thing once she dropped it. It was that easy. Or not so easy... WELL, there was no need for shouting but if she was going to be like that then Lex had no problem following her bestfriend out of that office. Pffft, wasn't like Gaston was in there. No need to stick around, you know? She glanced over at Sarah. Was the girl coming too? She didn't remember wanting to invite her, but Lottie now had the love antidote they needed to feed to the girl. Alright, fine, Sarah would have to come too and they'd give the rest to Claudette and be done with it. Merlin would she be glad when this was all over and they all left her boyfriend alone. They would need some snuggle time later, mhm, after all this mess. |
