“Yeah you got it” she wasn’t going to tell him he hadn’t. That would be rude. When he said he would have to roll her into the lake she just laughed. “Aw, darn…I was hoping to stay dry today” she laughed and then he offered her his hand. She gave him an apologetic look before taking it – she wasn’t mean clearly she didn’t want him to be covered in mud. “Thanks” she smiled as she took his hand and stood up. When he brought up cartwheels not being her thing she couldn’t agree more – but when he brought up somersaults she just snorted. “But that’s the problem…if you are trying not to get all mud-covered then somersaulting by a lake isn’t a smart idea.” She laughed at the image she had in her head – clean all over the front and muddy in the back – like a mullet but mud style. “I might try them inside – maybe oooh! It’d be fun to try and do them on the staircase to the boys dorm…so a somersault on a thing that turns into a slide…only thing with my luck I wouldn’t stop and I’d either roll out of a window or into something painful and expensive.” The expensive things seemed like it’d be more of a problem right now – what with the turnstiles at the dorms. Mika just blushed and smiled when Mo said she wasn’t a damsel – the blush, was more for nerves than anything else. Compliments weren’t her thing they always made her ears go red or her nose, well really her entire face would go red. Today she was lucky only her ears and nose had gone a bit red (normally it would go all clown-nose red). “Oh you.” Alright the flush-faced-ness could have been because of the finger squeezing but she wasn’t going to say anything about it. Nope. She just smiled brightly when she realized he had said she’d tell a dragon where to go – that was the best compliment ever. “Thanks I mean…telling a dragon where to go would come in handy if I were a dragon trainer” she just laughed a bit. That wasn’t what she was planning to be but it was what her little sister had told her to be…but then again Gen had said Wagon Wainer because she was still about two years old. “Hey! We should go into the lake! Well…I should cause im muddy…mudtastically muddy” she just beamed. “Hey! I have an awesome idea – you know that project for Astronomy class? Cleaning things…do you want to try to black-hole the mud off of my face – wait…no, that could be bad it might suck me in there” she muttered the last bit, “I am just going to go run into the lake” she said with a laugh and turned toward the lake. "should i just run and jump? Or roll...somersaulting in could be fun?" She asked Mo with a laugh. |

"Ooh... i know." He did. It was a very pretty part of France. Which reflected within her obviously. Because Clement thought that Juliet was really pretty. Wow. Was she a stalker or something. "Correct..." He mused with a grin. He loved his home city. "The best city there is." Of course it was. It was the home of good food, and Clement really loved the Paris food. He was missing it actually. Maybe he would owl his mom and see if she could send him some. At least he wouldn't have to pay for eating all the time. "Yeah..." He mused with a laugh. He did miss his old school. Especially now. But he loved Hogwarts too, and he really wouldn't change where he went to school anymore. "Bet it's clean..." |

The tawny owl swooped low as he found the student he was looking for, the flapping of his wonky wings making his presence known, not that the girl person and her companion couldn't see him heading directly for them. "Hoooooo." He swooped in gracefully and landed near the girl with the letter settling beside him softly. Staaaaaaaaaaaaaare. Treats please. SPOILER!!: Letter |
Quote:
As she tucked the letter into the inside pocket of her robe, she realized the owl was still there. Did it want something? She didn't have any owl treats. Just a couple cat treats...would that work? She pulled a small treat out of her pocket and offered it to the owl. "You want that?" |
Quote:
All he cared about right now was the treat in front of him. He quickly grabbed it, slightly hotting with approval. Nice girl this Penelope was. Really nice. With another bite, and a long hott, like kinda saying thank you, Furmy flapped his wings and went up and away, back to his owlery |
Tora had been told all sorts of stories about the lake but hadn't actually come down yet. Now, however, her curiosity about the lake had won over the need to get homework done and so she found herself walking along the edge, her shoes in hand, and her feet no more than ankle deep in the water. She walked like that for some way before she thought about what was really in the lake. Was it safe to even touch the edge? She almost immediately dismissed this irrational fear when she realized that the school even encouraged swimming in the lake (they did put a swimming dock out there after all), so it must be safe. Unless you get pulled under by a grindylow like Gram had been in her third year. Then again, she had said that she was swimming further out then just the very very edge. Eh. There were enough kids around that if Tora was pulled under someone would probably come save her/ notify a teacher of her demise. There was no one that she really knew though, and Tora wished she had asked one of her fellow Ravenclaws, maybe Isobel, if they had wanted to come walk with her. Maybe they could have gone on some sort of exciting adventure or something. Or not. It was cool to just walk by the water's edge too. |

Finally getting tired of this standing business she flopped to the ground by the edge of the lake. Almost at sea level...lake level...whatever. If he surfaced too far out she wouldn't see him but she suspected he'd come closer to the shore. Lex should have brought Lottie with her, she really should have. In the mean time she got to scribbling. The parchment had only half been filled when she left her Common Room, but only because she was going to get it finished out here, which she was doing now--OH HEY A FIRSTIE! Lex looked over at the girl that was getting closer with each step she took. "HAI!" She practically shouted, waving at her. Company was always good for Giant Squid watching. |

"Heya!" She shouted back, also waving frantically. Then she thought of her earlier predicament with deciding whether or not the water was safe. The older student should know! "Oh, do you know if it's safe to walk in the water and all? You know, with the grindylows?" She asked running over to where the girl was sitting and plopping herself down next to her. She decided that she was going to take the enthusiastic 'HAI' as an invitation to sit, since she really didn't feel like standing anymore. |

...Enthusiastic and an asker of odd questions. Pffft, Ravenclaws. "O'course it's safe, you could go for a swim too if you wanna, just...not during the winter, yeah?" That wasn't advised, Nooope. Well actually, on second thought...if the kid was a decent point earner she could go for a swim...she wouldn't be missed by the Gryffindors. Last place wasn't happening, okaaay?? "I don't think I've run into a grindylow so far, maybe the Giant Squid has something to do with that--have you ever heard of him?? Seen him while walking maybe?? Said hi? Know who he is?? Ever thought to visit him??" The questions just kept pouring out. This was a topic that interested her so naturally she wanted to know everything. Speaking of everything... "My name's Alexa, what's yours?" That counted as need to know information. Nodnodnod. |
open to anyone! After looking through the lake in the Slytherin common room, Audrey decided to finally make her way to the lake, above ground. She hadn't seen a mermaid or any creature for that matter the whole time she was down there so she was curious as to whether there was anything in the water at all. Approaching the lake she bumped into someone. "Excuse me," she said, without a hint of irritation in her voice. |

"We can try your somersaults somewhere else. Or you can," Mo decided as he took back his hand and crossed his arms. Mika got a long look, and then Mo added, "Don't go in the lake. Wet mud is a lot harder to vacuum up than dry mud. If we're going to do this, we have to dry the mud first and then clean you off." He gave her a stern look. Bossy!Mo was bossy, and he stepped closer to point his wand at Mika. "So first... Siccus aerous." The spell dried out the mud on Mika's shoulder and arm until it was light and flaking. "Now then, I have to go get one of the vacuum thingies. Two. I'll get you one. Be back in a few minutes?" |
Quote:
She stopped when Mo commented on wet mud – true wet mud was all evil and stuck to things. She should have remembered that – she had after all jumped into a mud bog as a kid all those years before. When Mo got all Bossy Mika’s eyebrow raised up…and it stayed there – the spell had dried the remaining mud that was on her face and like a failed beauty routine it had stuck to her eyebrows. Back in a few minutes…sure there wasn’t much she could say. Really, her face was kind of stuck and when she moved to talk or wiggle her eyebrow back into place she felt it cracking and peeling and it wasn’t all that good feeling. She hummed out the sound of approval and just stood there looking around. She was dry and covered in dry mud. Before he left she tried to say "Please be fast" but it sounded more like "weee-zee mast" she couldn't even tell what she had said...hopefully he understood that it was just the mud talking. |

Geez, this Gryffindor was asking more questions than a Ravenclaw like herself! And Tora asked a loooottt of questions. But that was good! "Well..I've heard of him. But I've never seen him- yet. So I haven't said 'hi' but I know who he is and yes I've thought about visiting him a couple times. It would certainly be cool to swim down there, meet him and visit for a while. Oh his name is Bartholomew. Just so you know." Obsession much with Bartholomew? "Oh- I'm Tora Galla-oof!" Quote:

There were some things a boy never wanted to see, and skin sloughing off a pretty face was one of them. When he returned, Mo tapped the vacuum and said, "Vacavus" without even looking at Mika's face. Nope. Not going to do it. Nightmares. How had she gotten so MUDDY, anyway? Did she face plant on one of those failed cartwheels? "I"m just going to... try your sleeve here first, okay?" He poked the vacuum hose at her sleeve and sucked up as much of the crumbling dried mud as possible. |
Quote:
When she glanced down just flicking her eyes toward her sleeve she watched in awe as he sucked away the mud from her sleeves. Yay! She was far less mud covered now. As he wasn’t looking she opened her mouth wiggled her face, twitched her nose and did all things face-moving-related so the mud began to peel away. Slowly she felt her face was moving with less resistance. “Can you do the face…just get it all off in one go?” She asked excitedly as she stood there being vacuumed. The next thing she was going to do was once she was mainly clean maybe vacuum the mud that had fallen around her – dried mud on the ground flaky gross mud. This was totally wicked – it was like shuffling off mud and the skin looked smoother – not like she’d do this again face planting wasn’t how she’d want a spa treatment…and this wasn’t spa like at all. It was dry caked on real mud not fancy pants mud. |
Has Audrey/Root.less tree as well ^^ SPOILER!!: Tora "Well..." Lex leaned back onto her elbows and cast her gaze to the lake for a moment. The questions the girl had were perhaps, just as curious as the first one. "O'course there are spells for that but I'd like to think you're too smart to go swimming with your wand on you in case something were to go wrong and, for your argument's sake, a grindylow pops in and snatches it. That being the case you would have no wand and therefore no means of keeping warm while in the lake and with temperatures like what we get you'd have ten minutes at most before your heart freezes over and you join Moaning Myrtle in her bathroom." She gave a casual shrug before looking at the girl again with a grin. "But, you know, that's all hypothetically speaking." Sigh. Someone else who'd only heard about him. Not much use to her now was she? "I know his name, I prefer Mr. Giant Squid, and it would be cool. I heard he came up for a lesson once...but I wasn't here so I missed it." Pity really. "And you have a rather odd name, did you know?" Galla-oof? Merlin! Oh, wait, wait, wait, that right there might have had something to do with that other girl running into her. Lex looked up at her, taking in the girl's features with a curious gaze. "Hello there." Her eyes glances to Tora, noting the growing irritation and merely shrugging at it. It wasn't her who'd been run into so she couldn't really care. "Will you be joining us? I don't suspect we'd mind." The appearance of the new girl caused her to miss everything the first year had said after that. |

He couldn't handle the pressure. "I'm not going to vacuum your face. What would you do if you lost an eyeball or something? What would HE do? He'd feel horrible. Instead, Mo stepped forward again and brushed the mud from Mika's face with gentle fingers. It was probably SO DANGEROUS to suck on people's faces, right? "There now... you're looking more like yourself already." Only then did he tap his vacuum hose again with his wand, "Vacavus." He carefully removed the flaking mud from Mika's neck and collar before vacuuming up the flakes from the ground. Just because he could. |

But right now, they had more pressing issues at hand. They must find Oliver. "We should start looking for him wherever he frequents the most,'' the badger said, nodding and looking around as if he expected to see Oliver bounding toward them. "Where would that be, anyway?'' The Kitchens? The Lion's dorms or Common Room? Jory hoped Oliver was alright. He couldn't imagine anything bad happening to the little furball. |
Transfiguration HW Post 4 Kace decided it was time to take his gargoyle outside and enjoy the fresh air. He managed to walk down and find the lake, i mean it wasn't too hard to find. Besides his sister told him many stories about this location. She met the giant squid after all. He was keen on meeting him but now it was time to focus on homework. He got the box out of his bag and opened it up. It was actually still pacing in the box. He forgot to use the finite spell...woops! But it was in no harm! He smiled at it and he let him wander in the box for a little bit. "Alright little guy now time to touch the grass." he smiled and placed him on it. He smiled and spread his wings in delight. "Alright little guy, let's see can you move your right foot?" he asked it and mimed moving his right foot. The gargoyle copied what Kace was doing and it seemed like second nature. "Hmm...lets see you do the next foot mr. smarty pants." The gargoyle grinned and moved his other foot no problem. "Now walk through the grass." Kace edged him on. He stood up and walked through the grass. He actually liked it and was smiling non stop. Kace was smiling too and taking in the fall breeze. |

She just laughed. “But I have to admit losing an eye gives me an idea – heh, eye-dea…” she laughed, “pirate for Halloween” she beamed at the thought causing more mud to loosen a bit. When Mo took a step forward she blushed – luckily it was hidden by her brown flaky camouflage. So when he started brushing the mud off she just let out a breath quietly. She didn’t know what she thought he was going to do to get it off but it had made her nervous. When he began to vacuum her neck and collar she just laughed. It was so ticklish – darn it now they knew her weakness. Tickling wasn’t fun when it made you squeal like a little piggy every time it happened. “Heee-ooh-no.” She let out the weird line of gobbledygook and laughed some more, “ti-tickles it tickled” she somewhat giggled ad as he moved to vacuum the ground. |

Juliet has got to stop worrying about NEWTs. Quite frankly she was kinda like this from the start of her fifth year, being all scared and whatnot with her OWLs. Yeah, she needed to stop worrying because for one, she's not in the seventh year and two, she's not really taking her NEWTs this year. Chill time for the sixth year. Phew. But she did giggle when Clement pointed out that it would be tiring. Yep. E does stand for Exhausting. "more like nastily exhausting" she mused. "Ugh. Tell me about it" she said rolling her eyes as once again she realizes that her NEWTs are not that long away. But she will worry about it when the time comes. Not now. Charms and Astronomy. Juliet is quite okay with charms but she seems to be having problems with astronomy the most. "Astronomy?" she gasped as her eyes immediately gazed back to Clement's. "That's cool" she added, a bit shy. "I'm never good with Astronomy" no she wasn't. It is quite difficult for her and she doesn't know why. Professor Airey is a nice professor, it was just Juliet and Astronomy. Hehe. "I'm more of a COMC and Potions kind of person, I guess" she snorted. Well, everyone has their own strongest and weakest subjects. "I don't go to Paris as much though" if only she already knew how to apparate. But not to worry, this year, she will definitely learn it. That's for sure. "It'd be nice if we moved there or something like that" which is sorta impossible... kinda but oh well. "It is the best city there is" she repeated. Clean? Juliet once again mused 'Beauxbatons is always clean" it was as if being clean is part of their school's mission. "Even the students have to be properly dressed and the hair and the nails and the shoes" she started giggling at the thought of having to go to school there for 3 years. "Too prim and proper" she didn't like being prim and proper. "Do you miss it?" she looked at him, maybe he does? |
Quote:
She then turned to the newcomer and motioned her down. "Well, come on then!" She said obviously still a bit irritable. Oh well, this was the nicest she was going to get to someone who had just nearly run her over. |
Transfiguration homework post 3 Since Professor Bellaire gave them the assignment, Christina always brought her mini gargoyle everywhere. She needed to train them. Okay, what should she do with this little thing? After it almost jumped to the pond and flew too far from her place? She made a visit to the lake with her little But at least it worked, right? Maybe Christina needed to teach it how to dance. |
