This particular room has served as an office to a number of different professors over the years. Some of which include revered professors such as Septima Vector, Bree Geltz, Kali O'hara, Lesley Modulo Fox, Matthias Pythagoras Wenlock, Onyx Xavier Frost, and of course, Macadrian Ashling Shackleton-Clark. With each new Professor that has made this office homey, Josephina is sure they each brought their own particular flair to its decorations to accommodate their tastes. Just as Josephina did when she first entered upon this room just several years ago now.
The walls have been painted a light blue-gray color and there are a handful of paintings hung around the room, giving off a rather comfortable aura. One of the paintings is a rendition repainted by Josephina, herself, of a canal near her hometown in Perugia, Italy. There is a framed miniature Italian flag, as well as a third painting of of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
As with typical office decorum, there is a large, polished wooden desk, that once belonged to each of her predecessors. There are a few neat stacks of papers and worksheets on the desk. There are also a few framed photographs sitting on her desk; one of Josephina posed with her two sisters, one of her parents, Nicole and Marcus, sitting on their couch. There's also a photograph of a baby girl, about toddler-aged, who will crawl around in the photo and maybe even disappear completely if you watch long enough, but have no fear, she'll be back! And an even more recent photograph, which you might recognize as your Herbology Professor with your Arithmancy one, taken on their recent trip to Italy. Behind the large wooden desk sits a black executive style chair. Directly on the other side of the desk - where visitors may sit - are two smaller black chairs, but still just as comfortable.
There's a bookcase on the left side, which contains various titles that Josephina collected over the years. Some these include, but are not limited to, The Complete Book of Numerology, New Theory of Numerology, Numerology and Gramatica, A Look Into The Future, and Olde and Forgotten Bewitchments and Charmes. There are also muggle classic books by Charles Dickens and Jane Austen, for which are a few of Fina's guilty pleasures.
Though the door is nearly always open, proper etiquette dictates knocking and addressing your identity before entering. Especially as Professor Hadley likely has her back to the door where she is playing with her puppy named Baisley or her kitten received from recent graduate, Lorelai Bristol, in which she conveniently named Bristol. Just entering without permission is rude and punishable with either point deduction and/or detention for being disrespectful.
OOC: No, there is no waiting area, but please do not clog up this thread with useless chatter of 'waiting to enter'. Have your character knock and then wait for Professor Hadley to respond to either enter or to come back later.
There are plenty of places around the school that allow for chat with your friends; Professor Hadley's office is NOT the place for it and doing as such will be cause for appropriate discipline actions.

As Minerva showed her cousin around the school, she made a point to stop at one of the best offices that Hogwarts had. Smiling at Susan, "Now this is a place you will want to remember, because if you need anything Professor Hadley is a great help. She is our Head of House, like I had told you at the feast. I'm super excited to have you meet her."
Minerva turned and knocked at the door. She hoped the professor wasn't to busy and could chat for a few moments, she wanted to thank her for the help last term and tell her a little about the internship that she helped Minerva get. Plus of course she was excited to introduce Susan to whom she liked to call house mom.

Alyssa walked up to Professor Hadley's office. She noticed Minerva was already there with her cousin, Susan, so she smiled at her, before knocking on the door even though it was ajar. She didn't want to interrupt the Professor if she was already there with someone.
KNOCK....KNOCK...
and then Alyssa waited for the Professor to respond.

As they walked through out the castle Susan was trying to remember where everything was, which she knew was impossible but tries anyways. Then Min told her they had reached Professor Hadley's office. Susan memorized the way here and wouldn't forget how to get here...hopefully. "So what does Professor Hadley teach again?" Sue was sure Min told her, but for the life of her she just couldn't remember. Probably because of her nerves.

If only she had thought of bringing a proper present. Sadly she hadn't but wanting to bring at least something, the sixth year had taken the time to fetch some flowers from the student garden.
With the flowers in her hand Ness walked down the second floor corridor and stopped by the office door, where she saw a three others. She gave them all smiles and then knocked on the door.

The red head didn't mind that there were others there, in fact she preferred it. This way it was less likely Hadley would make any comments on her O.W.Ls. Yeah Ness knew she could have done better, but she had other stuff on her mind too, like quidditch and dancing and quidditch and dancing. Okay..okay she needed to think more about schooling, but her dreams, were her dreams?

For a moment Josephina had forgotten exactly what she had wanted to do when she left the feast. Absently making sure her prefects had the newly sorted Hufflepuffs under control, she found herself once the Hall emptied out making her way to the staff room. She had stayed there much of the evening, just relaxing in the quiet until she finally realized she should probably head to her office and work out her first lesson plans. Nevermind that she was still wearing what she had the night before, as it was quite early in the morning, but why was there such noise on the second floor already?! It was barely 8:30 in the morning!

One of the early visitors being her Captain; had Ness decided to get an extremely early start in quidditch prep? Running a hand through her hair, she smiled casually at the gathering, as she overheard - from behind - of what Ness asked.
"You could come in ... if I was in there, but," she paused contemplatively. "Rumor has it, if the door is locked, then I'd wait for the owner of the office to return before attempting to enter." Just some words of the wise. "I'd also suggest when the owner does return, she has a clear path to the doorway, so she could open it." In otherwise, let her through to the door perhaps?
Gazing at the four students, she smiled in recognition at each of them .... except one, who appeared to be in accompany with Minerva, who also couldn't possibly be more than twelve at most. "But first, do tell me who this adorable young Hufflepuff you have with there, Minerva?"

Minerva smiled as she heard Professor Hadley's voice. It made Hogwarts more at home when she got to talk to their head of house the first time each term. Turning she moved to let the professor through. "Good Morning professor. This is actually my cousin, she was just sorted into Hufflepuff last night." Minerva couldn't help the excitement in her voice. She didn't even know she had another young wizard in her muggle family, so it was awesome to have one at Hogwarts with her.
"Professor Hadley, this is Susan Bones. Susan this is Professor Hadley, our Head of house and Arithmancy professor." She smiled at both of them hoping Susan would like Hadley as much as she did. "I hope you had a great summer professor."
Susan heard someone talking behind them. Oh it was the Head of House...ok Susan deep breath. Luckily Min was here with her or Sue probably would have backed out.
Susan gave her new Head of House a smile and offered her hand. "Hello Professor Hadley, it's wonderful to finally meet you. Min has been telling me so much about you"

"Uh....Good morning Professor." Alyssa quickly turned around when she saw Professor Hadley standing behind. She quickly stepped aside to let her Head of House enter her own office before she quickly followed after the others.
She decided that she would wait while the others said what they had to say. Of course everyone speaking at the same time would just make everyone's conversation totally un-understandable. So she stood quietly behind Nessie, Minerva and Susan and let them speak first.

Smiling when she sensed she caught the girls off guard, she nodded and opened the door to her office, allowing them admittance before she followed suit. "Nice to meet you, Susan." Fina said, taking the young girl's hand. "Hopefully good things," she gave Min a knowing look, before looking back over at Susan. "So lucky of you to have a family member to help find your way around Hogwarts. Any particular classes you're looking forward to?"

She looked at the other girls and then stepped into the familiar office. "I hope everyone's summer went well." Minerva included everyone that was in the room.
Professor, "I wanted to thank you for the letter for my internship, I had a great time at the prophet and learned so much from the experience." She didn't want to take up all the time since there were others in the room, but she had to make sure to say thank you.

Alyssa shuffled her feet looking down at the floor when she heard Professor Hadley address her. She looked up and smiled. "I'm doing good, Professor...and you? Alyssa looked up again when Professor Hadley responded to her. She smiled to hear that Professor Hadley was doing good and that she had a great summer. She then looked at her watch before looking out the window. She still had time to speak with her Head of House about her career options and some other private stuff.
So she inconspicuously walked around looking at the pictures the Professor had laid out and the books on her shelf. She noticed the two cats under the table, but had to restrain herself from bending down and playing with them. She would wait patiently for the others to finish.
Umm...right. That was very clever Ness. The red head kinda giggled when she noticed that Hadley was only heading towards the office now. She stood aside from the door and let the Professor open up so they could all enter the Arithmancy office. Once the door was open, Nessie followed the others inside being rather quiet for a change.
Her mind was drifting off and it sort of left the office which had Nessie staring blankly at one of the paintings without even realizing it. It was the painting of a boat flowing along a water city. Her mind had drifted off to what was in the painting and she tried to imagine what the whole scene could have been like. Looked like kind of romantic place, really.
Renesmee? That was her..and within one blink of an eye she was back to reality and inside the office. "Yes?" She was being slow. "I mean it was good,Professor, it taught me not to get mixed up with people." Because that honestly was the biggest thing she had learned. If only she hadn't called the wrong person Mr. Skeeter she might have not had to deal with a broken printer.
Back to the painting? Yes. The red head averted her eyes once more onto the painting and went back into her stare. Dazed she was today but she thought this art was interesting which could have possibly been Tom's influence working on her.

It was a good thing Fina's office was on the second floor, she didn't fancy walking up much higher, though, perhaps she'd pay the Lions a visit. But that could wait...
Tucking a tendril of blonde hair behind her ear, Seren knocked twice on the door to the Hufflepuff Head of House's door. This was, in her opinion, an urgent matter. She had concerns, and they needed to be dealt with ASAP.
Rocking from her toes to her heel, Seren waited, eyes meandering and taking in the scene of the second floor.

He hugged his bag closer to him as they approached the office and seemed to drop a little behind Mr. Kitridge. He was right behind the librarian, peering around him at the door fearfully. Merlin, he'd said she was kind, but Daniel still wasn't too sure. He was here and was going to attempt to talk to the woman, but he hadn't been told he had to be brave or anything.

The timid first year followed Leobald as he immediately said 'come on' and informed him that Professor Hadley's office wasn't too far away. As they walked out of the library, he gave the man a nod because now he knew what to call him. 'Mr. Kitridge'. Merlin, that felt strange after just knowing him as Leobald for a while.
He hugged his bag closer to him as they approached the office and seemed to drop a little behind Mr. Kitridge. He was right behind the librarian, peering around him at the door fearfully. Merlin, he'd said she was kind, but Daniel still wasn't too sure. He was here and was going to attempt to talk to the woman, but he hadn't been told he had to be brave or anything.
They had left the library well behind them and was walking up the second floor towards Professor Hadley's office. Leo sensed and saw how Daniel, the closer they got to the office door hugged his bag even more tightly. Going up to the door Leo knocked on it two times before turning to face Daniel.
"Keep focusing on being brave and remaining calm Daniel. If you can talk to me without trouble then talking to Professor Hadley will be just as easy if you remember that her job is to help you." Leo encouraged.

But get mixed up with people? How do you mean?" Did she sign the wrong name on an article or . . . . ?

It was a good thing Fina's office was on the second floor, she didn't fancy walking up much higher, though, perhaps she'd pay the Lions a visit. But that could wait...
Tucking a tendril of blonde hair behind her ear, Seren knocked twice on the door to the Hufflepuff Head of House's door. This was, in her opinion, an urgent matter. She had concerns, and they needed to be dealt with ASAP.
Rocking from her toes to her heel, Seren waited, eyes meandering and taking in the scene of the second floor.
Ah. Breather from the initial inundation of Hufflepuffs and the school year had calmed down some. Finally getting to work on her first lesson plans for the term, she blinked when she'd barely got started and there was another two knocks.
Who now?
"Come in," she called out patiently to the next visitor. Another troubled visitor? Was this one another troubled sixth year, perhaps?

And again she had a moment of quiet in her office, but sadly did not seem to last for very long as there was another knock. And voices outside her door, which meant that there wasn't just one visitor this time, but multiple.
Straining to hear a moment for what the one was saying, she hesitated a moment to call out to them. That .... didn't sound like a student? A male voice though; which meant it could be one of the male colleagues. The groundskeeper, the Runes Professor, the Astronomy Professor, the librarian, or the History of Magic Professor; but which one would have business with her? She had no idea.
"Come in," She finally called out. In a moment she would find out who it was.

...oh. He was supposed to be brave. Meep. Daniel nodded to show he understood, but just stared silently at the door that was on the only barrier between them and Professor Hadley. Would he be able to speak to her? He really didn't think so! He was willing to try though. He flinched when he heard someone say 'Come in' and gave Mr. Kitridge (He was quickly getting used to that name) a
worried look. Untangling one of his pre-occupied bag holding hands, he reached up to the door handle and took a small breath before pushing the door open and walking into his supposedly kind Head of House's office with his head down. Why did it feel like he was in trouble?

Seren had been waiting patiently, amusing herself by admiring the atmosphere on the floor she seldom visited. Curious.
Hearing a 'come in', she snapped out of her throughts, exhaled and turned the door knob before peeking her head in.
Oh good... she was alone. Not interrupting.
Smiling, Seren then opened the door wider, and slipped into the office space. "Sorry to disturb, but I have a concern... about one of yours." She started before closing the door and inching her way to Fina's desk. "Do you mind?", she asked, looking down at the chair. Or should she come back another time?

From behind the closed door Leo heard Josephina’s faint voice allowing them to come inside. Giving Daniel’s the best reassuring look he could offer Leo followed the little badger first year into the office to see his head of house.
Walking up to Josephina's desk with Daniel in tow Leo smiled at her. "Good day Professor Hadley. We are sorry to disturb you, but Daniel here has a few problems he needs to talk to you about." Mr Kitridge glanced sideways at the bag hugging boy for a moment before focusing on Professor Hadley again. "One of the problems being that he doesn't feel comfortable anywhere in the castle except in the library. I found him sitting under a table in the library, hugging his bag and thought it best to bring him here to see you." He ended the explanation.
It was up to Daniel to share his other problem with Professor Hadley that was complicating his everyday life at the school.
Sorry I totally forgot that I had her in Hadley's office xD

Some people have told me that my dreams are silly and I most likely won't achieve it. But that makes me more determined than ever to make sure that they do." Alyssa told her Head of House.

Oh well wasn't this just a pleasant surprise? Fina smiled broadly at sight of her colleague, as she inched her way toward her desk and then looked down at the chair opposite her.
"No, no, not at all," Fina said, gesturing to the seat near the Herbology professor. A concern though? About one of hers? Wouldn't that technically speaking be one of both of theirs; unless it was a Hufflepuff, in which case it was like double her own. But still.... her students were Seren's, were they not? Eh, no point in continuing to mentally battle it.
"Peppermint?" she offered, before getting down to business. "So what seems to be this concern that brings you here?"

Fina stared in shock when it wasn't a student. Well it was a student, but the student was accompanied by the librarian?! But she didn't have to contemplate too long as the librarian made his way up to her desk and spoke on behalf of both of them. Daniel, from the looks of things, seemed shy.
"Good day, Mr Kitridge," she said back, smiling at the librarian and then as an afterthought, she nodded toward the young one in tow. "Good day, Daniel."
"Hmm... Tell me something, Daniel, what's your favorite thing in the whole world?" Because was it the library he felt comfortable amongst or the books or the fact that it seemed to provide a nice hiding place from learning?

Fina nodded thoughtfully as Alyssa claimed nothing was bothering her and then just said thank you. Merlin, if she got a galleon for every time a student or anyone else said thank you, she'd likely be a millionaire by now. "Oh, you're welcome."
Ah of course. Career advice. Well that would make sense, as Alyssa was at that point in her education path of figuring out what her choices were for the rest of her life. "Career advice is part of the job," Fina admitted quietly, shrugging off the compliment. "But anyway, your inquiries, I think I should address them first by telling you that someone once told me, the only dreams that are silly are the ones that not fulfilled."
