After listening to some more spells being listed by the class and making sure the spell of his choice wasn't alreadylisted, Jory raised his hand again. "Descendo, Professor. One can make his opponent sink,'' he said. That sounded a bit...harsh. |

No wait, no sigh. SELINA WAS AWESOME. She could totally do this. And even if she couldn't she would pretend that she could. Fake it until you make it. She had told Nearly Headless Nick that at the opening feast. And it was TOTALLY relevant at this moment. So coming up with something random, she rose her hand and answered, "Well, Professor... you could always use... um..." THINK SELINA THINK! "Tarantallegra. Make them dance and then that will keep them distracted so that you can attack more effectively." That worked. |
Ariana's hand shot up when she thought of one spell that had NOT been mentioned yet adn boy was she excited. thought she was really unsure why no one had mentioned it "Professor!" she said a bit excited "Rictusempra can be used, It is to tickle a person.. it's a great distraction ." she nodded her head it was a good one for the ickles to use too .. you know they couldnt hurt anyone so you know.. WRITE THAT DOWN ICKLES, cause it's useful! |
Peyton wished she could use the babbling charm on Seth. He needed to stay quiet and let Slytherin win. It didn't matter, they had this in the bag, oh yeah. Her hand zoomed up into the air once more. "There's the Fire-Making Spell; Incendio." You can toast your opponent just a taaaad. Unless they angered you a lot. Then toast them real good. ^.^ |
Jory raised his hand for the third time, once again after checking the board. "What about Furnunculus, Professor? It will cause the opponent to be covered in boils.'' |
And she thought of ANOTHER that no had mentioned.. she found it funny none of the ravenclaws mentioned it so she shot her hand up again " oh andd Avis Oppugno." she paused and waited to see if anyone knew what that was... really was she the smartest one in the class.. well she wasnt butt it sure seamed like it.. this was easy.. "Avis.. conjures canaries from your wand and the word Oppungo causes them to attack the offender person." yeah that made sense right? she looked around and slumped down a bit having the feeling she slaughtered that one |
Nerida almost giggled as she saw her |
"There's the Smokescreen Spell," Sierra said, shooting her hand into the air. Spells were being listed left and right now, and if she didn't hurry, she'd be limited on what she could say. This was a competition, too, so those sort of things mattered. With that, though, she'd said all she could say, which was three spells. Come on SNAKEEEEEEEES! |
And it was ariana's turn again when she once again thought of a SIMPLE dueling charm that no one else had mentioned. " professor, also the Bat-Bogey Hex, yeah? It Causes the opponent's bogeys to turn into large, black bats and fly out their nose." she nodded cause this was awesome.. she also did some eyeing to Cambridge over there.. yeah we see you and ariana was always prepared when alexa was in the room.. evil little child. |
Gosh hard to keep track of what has been mentioned. Just arrived back at hotel Alyssa blinked, as everyone started calling out spells. It was hard for her to remember what had already been mentioned and which hadn't, but she decided to give it a try. Raising her hand, she said,"Professor has anyone mentioned the Verdimillious Tria spell. I believed with tried a version of it on Mr. Murdoch, two terms ago." Had that already been mentioned? |

Alyssa smiled over at Jory. "Thanks. I'm trying to but everyone is talking faster than I can write." she answered him even as she tried to think of another spell that may possibly have not been mentioned. Scrunching up her face, Alyssa raised her hand. "Professor what about Silencio? If the person can't speak, he can't cast the spell unless he can do non-verbal spells. But let's suppose he can't. That would work right?' |
*click me for a bigger picture* OOC: If you notice you've repeated an answer, feel free to list another one! |
Jory had just noticed that someone has listed Furnuculus before him. "Shucks,'' he thought racking his brain for another one. He raised his hand. "The trip Jinx, Professor,'' he said. No need to explain, the name said it all. |
Alyssa smiled when she saw that Professor Romanos had written down the spells mentioned on the board. Now it was a lot easier for her to know which spell had not been mentioned. 'One more spell...one more spell...I just need to mention one more spell.' Alyssa thought to herself. Then she remembered the jinx that sends an opponent flying. Alyssa quickly raised her hand. "Professor what about Everte Statum. That has been used as an offensive spell in a duel before. The spell sends the target flying back." |
Nerida muttered drats under her breath. Alyssa just stole her answer!! Another spell!! She could say two more spells...Hmmm... "Professor could you use Sectumsempra?" |
Spells when dueling. Juliet looked at the board when the students suddenly uttered different kinds of spells at once. It was like a rampage of words coming from different directions. Plus, 10 points is such a huge amount. Juliet immediately raised her hand and uttered "Reducto, professor" yup, that hasn't been used yet. |
SO...Beezus had been listening as the discussion went on, jotting down notes every now and then. Her classmates had pretty much gave their opinions on the earlier questions so she kept her mouth shut and merely allowed her senses to observe. Until the lesson was dragged to spells. Dueling spells to be exact. And the house with the most number to list down will get ten points?! Oh, was it time now to show who's got the wits with these things? "Alarte Ascendare spell, Professor. It throws the target high into the air." So it had to be a dueling spell, yeah? Now, she needed her 'claws to back her up. |
Where did all the Claws go? Kendall was half-tempted to actually look around after she had offered her first suggestion, since it seemed like all the other Houses had jumped in, but only a few of her housemates had. Mo, a couple others she rememberd seeing in classes and the common room, and then finaly Beezus. But they still, as she glanced at the chalkboard, were behind. Which was not good. Behind meant losing,a nd they needed those ten points. She'd shot the prefect (and her friend) a smile as she'd raised her hand again, in any case. She wasn't giving up yet. "What about Incarcerous? I'd have a hard time continuing to duel if I was all tied up, at least," she said. It was only partly lying. She knew she'd probably dodge the ropes, but the thought still counted. Plus, it was an obvious spell, and so farmost everyone had been thinking about harder ones. |
What else? What else could she add. Juliet stared at the board once more as her brained scanned for more spells. Most of which that she wanted to say are already suggested, bummer how she couldn't have answered it as fast as everyone did. She should have. But then again, there are tons of spells that can be used when dueling. Juliet's hand shot up again as she thought of another one "Hurling hex is really helpful during a duel" she smiled. She has never tried that hex before though. |
Dustin thought for a moment. Everyone else was so....violent in their choices for spells. He raised his hand and offered, "I mean, I don't know what the incantation would be for it, but what if there was a spell that created a cloud of stinky gas? Because I'm pretty sure that would upset my nose and incapacitate me if that happened." He realized what the implications of that were, and quickly added, "I mean...it wouldn't affect me because I'm immune to smells but I'm sure OTHER people wouldn't like it." There. That would probably prevent anyone from using that on him. |
Come on, where were her 'Claws at? The Prefect looked around. What were they doing, staring absently on the board? They HAD to raise their hands and offer an answer. They knew this! There were LOTS from books. Oh, lookit. Kendall. She smiled back at her friend and gave her a look that CLEARLY meant they needed moooooooooooooooooore answers. ...DustB say what? Beezus blinked and extended an arm, grabbing her fellow Chaser's shoulder as she whispered a bit too loudly, "Spell. You NEED to state a spell. Like you know, with the actual incantations if it was possible? Hand up. "There's also Lacarnum Inflamari. Quite similar to Incendio, only it aims to produce flames on clothes. So, simply...it's putting your opponent on fire." |

And....oh he needed an incantation? Well shoot, he didn't know. He was making suggestions more than actually knowing things. He stuck his hand back up in the air, higher this time, and got tongue tied. "Oh...uhh..ermm...okay well..umm okay I don't know the incantation for that OTHER spell but there's...UUUUMMMMMMM" He felt like he was falling...and really wished there was something to cushion his fall. WAIT. Cushioning charm. CREATIVITY POINTS. "OH! Madidus! That's the incantation for the Cushioning Charm. It's really useful because, if you've been sent flying through the air, you can use it to cushion your fall and protect number one: your bum. Wouldn't want that to get bruised. It would ruin sitting, which is among my favorite activities." Also added to the list of things to work on: rambling. |
Well, that was interesting. Cassia thought. The Snake raised her hand and spoke before someone else does, because those people speak a lot and know a lot! "There's Glacius. IT freezes the target...I think it's effective." Because her opinion is important just like the spell. And yeah it sounded like Glisseo but it's totes different. She said satisfied. See, she knew some stuff. |

He was weird sometimes. Like he had a world of his own or something. Should she be worried? But then he was responding to what she'd told him and was now actually giving out an answer. Ooooh. The Cushioning Charm, huh? See, she knew he was smart. She nudged him again and this time winked at the younger 'claw. Show them who's boss, DustBin! "Hmm. Hex Deflection charm. Julaudico." Beezus nodded. "A very effective way to, of course, deflect hexes from your opponent." |
