Her legs were very hard to maneuver on a solid ground after two days in bed, let alone a snowy slippery one. She stumbled a few times, laughing more, but quickly got her balance back. Spike was easily gaining on her probably, he either didn't want to outrun her yet or was being nice by not humiliating her pathetic sporty skills.
Louisa continued to run and run, occasionally looking at her racer to see where he was and how red his face has gone, probably not as the red shade hers was like. Laughing was actually draining her oxygen storage even more and after only a minute and a half she dropped on her knees and then rolled to her back, feeling the fluffy COLD snow cushioning her body. The only cold part would be her head though, she was pretty protected everywhere else. She closed her eyes against the glamor of the sun against the snow on the trees and waited a bit to get her breath back. Then she looked sideways to see where Spike was. | Sprinting in snow wasn't easy, especially in the boots Spike was wearing. They had good grip from the tread (unlike his co-prefect's apparently, who he noted was stumbling now and then), but weren't the most comfortable to run in. He didn't know he was supposed to be wearing proper running shoes - he was under the impression they were going for a walk and fresh air!
Spike was soon catching up with Louisa; his longer strides falling in time with hers as he began to draw level. The icy air bit at his throat as he breathed heavily, and his face glowed a rosy pink. "I thought...you...were...ill," he spluttered out, shaking his head lightly. "Vickers...won't be...happy...with me...if you...get...worse."
...and then she was in the snow. Did she fall? Spike gave a frown, though was relieved to see her roll over and look at him. Taking this as a good sign, Spike plopped down backwards into the snow, and because the fancy took him, started to wiggle his arms and legs to make a snow angel. "Feeling better for the fresh air?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. |
