DADA Lesson : Ready minds for Review Upon entering the arena, it may have been a familiar sight for those who attended the first defense against the dark arts lessons from previous terms. The arena was exceedingly dark, windows having been closed off with dark burgundy, almost black looking, drapes that hung from ceiling to floor; more than likely to help with keeping out the cold as well. Deep purple colored mats were lined perfectly from one another in the middle of floor in rows of eight while a deep red mat sat in the front of them all where Professor Romanos currently sitting upon. However, one could still find their way around the room, for scattered around the edges of the arena, far away from where they all would be sitting, were a great deal of candles, both lighting portions of the walls, floors, and ceiling itself in a rather ghostly glow fashion. Glasses with candles that floated in water surrounded with the stationary ones to light up the particularly extra shiny floor were flickering calmly, while the ceiling was lit with an orange glow from the hovering candles, most commonly seen in the Great Hall. Don't worry though. No candle wax will be dripping to the floor. A strange yet soft music could be heard gently playing in the background; though not loud enough to block out smaller noises such as the rustling of school bags or footsteps. Please come in and become comfortable on one of the mats. Class will be starting shortly! OOC: Class has begun! If you are just joining us now, please don't post being late and feel free to post your character ______as if they've been here the entire time. Otherwise, you may risk losing points. ;] |
Hannah made her way into the classroom. DADA was one of the more interesting of subjects for her. Defense made sense...you had to know how to do that. She looked around the classroom. It seemed very much the same to her as it always was. She spotted the professor..."Hello professor." She found her a mat towards the middle of the room and made herself at home. |
Alyssa walked into the DADA classroom. The ambience in the room was getting really familiar to her. The purple colored mats and the lights...and of course Professor Romanos sitting relaxed on one of the mats. Alyssa quietly walked up to the Professor to greet her. "Hello Professor Romanos. It's good to be back here." Alyssa whispered to her before picking a mat. Placing her backpack on the ground, Alyssa kneeled down and then sat down on the mat. She closed her eyes and while waiting for class to start, decided to do some relaxation exercises. |
DADA... Now this should be a fun class. Juliet skipped over to the first floor until she found the door to the DADA room. By now, she has gotten the hang of the places around Hogwarts. Hopefully, she doesn't get too confident enough not to use her map. People did say that despite their long stay in this school, they still manage to get lost. Upon entering the classroom, Juliet's eyes widened to see the professor's taste in arranging this room. It's not your ordinary day to day classroom. This one is definitely different. The room is a bit dark, well not too dark, you can still see your way around. She walked over to the front area and took a seat on one of the adorable purple colored mats. Ohhhh, mats. Are they going to do something with this? Is this part of the lecture? Looking up front, is of course the professor herself. Juliet smiled at her "Good day, professor" then her eyes wandered across this room. And what was the music called? |
Jory entered the familiar setting for DADA class. The deep purple mats and floating candles made him feel at home. He spotted Professor Medea sitting on a red one in front of the class. "Good day, Professor,'' he said to her before he went to make himself comfortable on one of the mats in the third row. |
Oh, wow. This was one REALLY relaxing classroom. Theodore let out a yawn as his head looked upwards at the floating candles. He hoped no wax would drip down..... but he was also sure that the professor had it under control. Theo perched himself upon a purple mat, and smiled at the professor, "Hello, professor." Should he lie down? Yes, he should. His head tipped back and he watched the candles to the music. It was like a yoga class. Theo wiggled his toes as he thought about it. Cos wiggling toes was a relaxation technique, he'd decided. |
Bag slung over her shoulder and in her uniform pants instead of skirt - couldn't very well do yoga in a skirt without...embarrassing oneself - Kurumi entered the dueling area and quickly made her way to the front of the classroom and sat down on her usual mat where she wondered if Daichi would sit next to her again or not. She knew how he felt about fire...and all the candles in the dueling arena always made the Slytherin uneasy. "Good day, professor," Kurumi chirped as she set her things down. "How are your cats?" Kurumi really should stop by to visit them again. |
Nigel walked into the classroom loving the music and the weird atmosphere. Nigel looked and saw Professor Romanos. "Hello, Professor Romanos" He then went to find a empty mat, sat down, and waited to see what they were going to do in class today. |
Silvia walked into the Dueling arena to find the familar sight of a dark room, candles, and yoga mats. Making her way to her usual second row spot she sat down, hoping that she hadn't gotten too out of shape from the lack of yoga over the summer. "Hello Professor," she greeted. |
Cassia entered the classroom eagerly for she could confidently say that she is good at DADA not excellent but good. At least when the Professor will talk Cassia would understand without much of a trouble. So hopefully no blank expressions in this lesson. The atmosphere was nice and comforting. All the candles made one easy and relaxed. Stepping closer to where the professor stood, "Good day Professor Romanos," Cassia greeted the woman then walked towards the middle of the room. The second year chose a spot she found nice and sat down hugging her knees to her chest waiting for the start of class. |

He eyed the candles as he shuffled inside the room. He nervously played with his thumbs as he shuffled foward, afraid that something bad would happen with all the candle lights surrounding the place. The Slytherin sometimes wondered if a few Professor did this on purpose. But then he remembered that he had never spoken out loud that he was afraid of the fire. There was only one person left that knows about his fear in the whole school and that was... Daichi looked around with a hopeful expression on his face before his eyes landed on the Prefect who was sitting at the front of the class. "Yes" he whispered to himself as he made his way towards Kurumi with careful steps. He sat down on a purple mat without saying anything but continued to look at the candles with a hint of tears in his eyes. |
Cora swallowed hard. She did NOT like the Defense Against the Dark Arts one bit. Perhaps she wouldn't be too bad at it this year, but Cora was doubtful. Entering the classroom tentatively, Cora noticed she didn't recognize anyone yet. That would not make things any easier. She noticed some students already sitting on mats, so she made her way over to one as well, shaking slightly. Defense Against the Dark Arts just seemed so...dark. And as Elliot said, Cora was already too nice. DADA was scary, and destined to be a tough class for Cora, who normally couldn't hurt a fly. To top it all off, the room was decorated in such a sinister way. It was literally dark. And there were candles. And some creepy music which may have only been creepy because Cora was already scared. Sitting down nervously, Cora prepared for the worst. She was terrified and this was ridiculous. She is a fourth year, for crying out loud! |
Sutton had been very concerned for days, ever since she first noticed Defense Against the Dark Arts on her schedule. The fact that the Dark Arts were so prominent that there needed to be a class about how to defend against them made Sutton kind of want to go back to thinking she was Muggle. At least then the scariest class she had to take was, like, public speaking. Entering the room, the atmosphere did nothing to calm her nerves. Again, the fact that something was going to happen in this class that made it prudent for the professor to get them to relax for did not bode well for Sutton. Her eyes darted around, looking for a familiar face... Edmund, Logan, Belle? None of them seemed to be here yet. Maybe one of them would come in soon and decide to sit with her. Shakily made her way around the room and sat down on one of the purple mats, hugging her bag to her front, preparing herself for the worst. |
Dark. That's the first thing that crossed Messer's mind when he entered the DADA classroom. Well, its not that dark either, there's candle lightning up the class but somehow he feel the darkness a bit comforting and relaxing. The third year easily spotted Professor Romanos sitting on one of the purple mats. "Hello, Professor." he greeted the DADA Professor before he went to take a seat on one of the mats. |
Had Sarah not been there before, she would have found it quite stange. "Hello Professor" she said, and then found a place on a purple mat. She wondered what she was to cover this lesson... |
After straightening her skirt, Beatrice Castell stepped into the DADA Classroom, her bag cast on her shoulders. As was last term, the arena was still dark with only a few candles for light, and it presented the almost same aura too. Mats were still there for them to occupy, which likely means they'll be having yoga sessions. AGAIN. With these thoughts, she grimaced. Overstretching her limbs isn't exactly what she thought was best for her sore body, not to mention that her ribcage felt like it was going to dislodge anytime soon. That's what comes with Quidditch -- broken body parts. "Hello Professor Romanos." the Ravenclaw smiled at the Professor before shuffling off to the back of the classroom. Right, back. Not front. Because she was certain she won't be too keen on performing any yoga stunts for this lesson, and well, staying at the back might spare her from it. She sat on a mat, placed her things by her side and waited. Louder music, please? |
Eleyna walked in the classroom, filled with nervous anxiety that felt like it was clogging her throat. She found a mat and sat on it. This reminded the young Griffyndor of her yoga-loving mother. Eleyna still pretty much felt like the new girl. Once she took a deep breath and really started taking in, what this classroom had so far. Is when she was starting to enjoy the little things. The candles really made the classroom ambience so warm, not to mention comfortable. As the young red head watched more students enter, she couldn't help but to smile at them. |

Right at the time she walked in, a louder note played and she was actually startled. "Hello, professor Romanos." She greeted the older witch as her eyes widened a bit. Looking around almost suspisciously, the third year slowly made her way to sit next to Messer. "Hi, Messy!" She said in a low tone, but cheerfully. Once she was sitting down, she placed her bag next to her and frowned, looking around the arena again. That music was SO weird!! Sounded like... an alien in the water... making bubles or something... WEIRD! |
DADA. Perhaps the one and only class that Chace found he could always find amusement and focus in. Upon entering the room he looked around at the assortment of candles, getting the feeling that he was entering into one of those yoga classes that his aunt liked to hold at her house during the summer. And they were going to sit on mats? Great... Finding an open one towards the back, and removed from the other students that were already there, Chace looked over at the Professor. "Good day Professor Romanos," Chace said with a rather welcoming smile for him. He wasn't really one on being overly friendly in any situation, since people that were always way more cheerful than the situation called for rubbed him the wrong way, but being respectful to Professors was important, so he tried his best. Hopefully Abby would be coming and could take the mat next to him... |
Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson with the yoga teacher. There had to be something interesting that would happen. Things were a little busy for Nessie at the moment, and bussy-ness meant lack of time and that meant lack of sleep. There was just too much work she had to do, and she still had to sort out her team on top of everything. She was coping alright though, even being a little more tired than usual. She knew the weekend was on it's way. Trying not to yawn, Nessie walked into the yoga themed classroom and put on a small smile as she looked at the purple mats. Maybe yoga wasn't something she was fond of, but the purple mats...well who couldn't like them? I mean they were purple. "Hello, Professor." said Ness with a small nod, as she looked at the Professor that was already seated on a mat. She then proceeded onwards towards one of the mats near the back. Plomping down, the red head sat on a purple mat. It was only now she noticed there was music playing in the background. It was soft and not the kind of music Ness was used to. It didn't make her feel too energetic, in fact it made her feel sleepy. VERY sleepy and it took her exactly five minutes after sitting to close her eyes and fall asleep. |
So this yoga thing again. Ariadne wasn't too fond of sports, but she had to admit, both mental and physical ability were an andvantage when dealing with Dark magic. Or any kind of magic, really. Upon entering the classroom, the first thing she did was to greet the Professor. 'Good day, Professor Romanos.' It was only polite. Spotting some of her friends, Ariadne waved and smiled at all of them. Kurumi, Jory, Cassia, Sarah...After picking a mattress, the girl tried to determine the nature of the background music, but that was made nearly impossible by other people moving around, so she gave up and simply waited for class to start. |
Kennedy made his way to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom with his bag slung over his shoulder. He was in a fair mood and not grumpy at all. Why would he be when he had the best girlfriend ever, eh? Exactly. He entered the room, not surprised by it's lighting. Kennedy had grown to actually like it. He found a mat close to the front where the professor was and dropped his bag next to it. "Good day, Professor Romanos," he greeted, flashing her a smile. Kennedy then sat down, rolled his sleeves up to his elbows, and was ready for whatever yoga move was thrown at them. |
With hasty steps, the fifth year made her way to the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. ‘Good day, Professor’, she greeted as she stepped in. As soon as she entered the classroom, the fifth year noticed the purple mats and the candles, arranged just like she remembered from last term. Mhm. And music was playing too… Not paying a lot of attention to what kind of music was playing, the Ravenclaw gave a quick look around, managing to spot a few of her friends and… Ari. With a small smirk on her face, the girl approached the place where her best friend was sitting. After greeting the Gryffindor with a small nod, Gwendolyn sat down on one of the mats nearby. |
Wooooaahhh. Aidan's pace slowed the moment he entered the classroom, and he started walking more carefully. Not because of the candles and mat (he couldn't care less if he trampled over every mat on his way), but because it was all....creepy in here. Were they gonna learn about ghouls and ghosts?! Even if they weren't all that scary, it was still cool! The Ravenclaw made his way all the way to the front of the classroom, a smile playing on his face. He plopped down on a mat near the professor. "Hi!" |
Lana wasn't really sure how she felt about Defense Against the Dark Arts, but again that never stopped her from attending the lessons each year. The verdict was still very much out still, but a small part of her was actually liking all this yoga stuff. |
Vee walked into the classroom, and then paused almost immediately. It was dark. Very dark. She took a moment to let her eyes get used to the darkness before continuing to an empty seat and praying she wouldn't trip over anything. Why on earth was it so dark? The blinds looked exotic and heavy, but this was autumn and it was so beautiful out and you couldn't even see that! The lesson better have something interesting in store... "Hi, Professor," she said, once she could penetrate the darkness enough to see her teacher. Which took another few minutes. At least this wouldn't involve reading too much - Vee had a feeling she'd risk falling asleep if she had to, so early in the day. She left her books in her bag, waiting to see what happened next. |
While Addy was vowing to vacate her chair in the common room more often she figured earning some house points couldn't hurt either. Heh. Reaching the door to the DADA classroom she paused while her eyes adjusted. Were they going to attempt to communicate with the dead? Creepy room. Creepy professor. Sighs. Finally stepping inside she smiled a bit and called out, "Helllllloooo professor." And perhaps she got a little wave of the fingers while Addy avoided getting too close to her... She found herself a spot a bit away from the others that had already gathered and plopped down on a mat. Yep. Let's get this over with, please. |
Alec blinked as he stood by the doorway. The classroom was so... dark. And not the kind of darkness that came with horror stories that happened late at night. No. This reminded him more of cosy campfires and marshmallows and smores. ... Were they going to make smores? GRIN! The fourteen year old took another couple of steps into the classroom and had a good look around. Candles. That was something else he noticed. Lots and lots of candles! He tried his hardest not to think about the Great Hall or anything to do with feasts because... well... that would just make him hungry. And he didn't want his stomach to make weird noises out loud when they were yoga! You know... if they were doing yoga. Oh right. Greeting! "Hello Professor!" Big grin and... he started walking over towards a purple mat close to Messy and Sophs. The boy sat down on the other side of Messy and just sat there grinning. |
West wasn't late. No really, he wasn't. He went on in, not really reacting as if the darkness or the set up was anything out of the ordinary. He waved at the professor, not feeling like being one of those people that broke the silence, and then found a mat. Maybe he'd get to do more running on the spot? |
Oh joy. It was time for So as she walked into Defense Against the Dark Arts and saw the mats, she sighed. Her enemy. The mats of doom. But she smiled at Romanos, because the lady was pretty cool, and said, "Morning Professor. Enjoy your summer?" |
Helen walked into the DADA classroom with mixed emotions. She was excited about what was to come from DADA but as it was OWL year, she was starting to feel the pressure from all her subjects and she didnt know what to expect from this year. When she walked in she heard the quiet music in the background and saw the hovering candles and chuckled a bit. You dont really think of these things when thinking of DADA. |
Milton yaaaaaawned as he entered the lovely dark room. Quidditch tryouts were wearing him out It was dark and cozy with all the candles, and the mats looked so COMFY. Milton took one near the back and plopped down. "Nap time," he mumbled before rolling onto his back and closing his eyes. Ah, yes. Nap time indeed. |
Dark room. Candles. Mats. Weird looking professor. Yeah, no. This didn't look like a fun lesson at all. Had the professor seen her? Was it too late and walk away? But, she spotted Chace at the back of the room. She was going to attend the class now. As long as she got spend time with Chace, she was happy. Heh. Giving the professor a faint smile, she headed towards the back of classroom, feeling slightly uneasy. Why was this room giving her the creeps? "Hey." She sat down, giving her boyfriend a small smile. This room was really starting to freak her out. |
Alexa wasted no time in getting to the arena. If there was one class that she was excited for it was this one. Most people were probably excited because it was a cool subject or because they got to face monsters; eventually this would be Lex's reason but for now she was more preoccupied with learning something that would save her everytime one of those annoying older kids felt the urge to aim a their wands at her. What was with everyone finding fun in making her a target anyway? Did they think it was funny seeing her freak out?! Gosh, once she learnt something valuable here she would move to charms and learn a thing or two about casting her own spells at them...then they would all be hexed and sorry! Entering the room she was a bit taken a back by the dark surroundings but had to admit that it suited the class quite well so she dismissed it and instead gave a smile to the Professor. "Hello Professor, I'm really looking forward to this class." The woman might never have known just how serious she was being. Gone would be the days where she flinched whenever someone raised their wand at her! With that said she took a seat on one of the mats and waited for the lesson to begin. |
Tay twirled into the classroom, in a fantastic mood despite being depressed for a few weeks. D.A.D.A. always did that to her especially if they do yoga! Taylor grinned, "Hello, Professor. How was your summer?" Taylor waved to her |
Messy, Alec and Soph! Ella bounced into DADA, bag slung over her shoulder and a smile on her face. This class really was one of her favorites, even despite the Yoga, which inevitably made her fall over every single time she attempted it. She tried to ignore thoughts about the boat position as she walked by the Professor. "Hello Professor, good to be back." She said cheerfully, before spotting three of her favorite people. Soph, Alec, and Messy! BEAM! She'd definitely be sitting with them. Walking over with a smile on her face, the badger plopped down on an empty mat beside Sophie and let her bag fall to the floor beside her. "Hey guys." She said quietly, giving them a small wave. This was going to be fun. |
Annabelle walked into DADA ready to learn some more. She loved this class and loved the teacher. She had butterflies in her stomach because Belle didn't know what to expect this year but she hoped it would be fun. When Belle saw the teacher she smiled cheerfully and said, "Hello Professor Romanos! How was your summer? I am excited for this class." When she said her hello, she went to go find a seat to sit down and she got out her sketch pad and started drawing. |
For some weiiiiiiiird reason, Vivi felt anxious as she entered the DADA classroom and took a seat in the near-dark just a few feet away from Selina. She absently waved at Lex and West as she passed them, but her thoughts were more on the very strange sensation of being... what was it? Not worried, precisely. Just anxious. This class above all others was the one she needed to do well in, and although she'd never had any issue with it at Beauxbatons, this professor was an unknown. As was her dark room with the mats and the candles. Maybe they'd do some hand-to-hand combat today? That would be legit. |
So..... Aspen was here. She was on her mat, eying her peers, her hood up and her face mostly concealed. Hopefully this class wasn't going to be ALL review. Just in case they got to use their wands, she picked out her victims: Quote:

Prep done, Aspen sat on her mat, one eye on West, and her thoughts off to wondering why there wasn't an OFFENSE to the Dark Arts class. |
DADA had never been one of Melanie's strongest subjects. That was the main reason why she had taken her time to look for the classroom. She had been hoping that by the time she found the classroom, the class would be over and she wouldn't even have to step inside. Fiddling with the sleeve of her uniform nervously she walked into the classroom not expecting it to look like it did. This looked like a scene out of a horror movie - the part where the person sits in the dark and has someone kill the person because they didn't know better. There were candles but it didn't exactly reassure Melanie at all. Who knew what was hiding in the darker corners? Melanie bit her lip as she looked around then looked at the professor. "Hello, professor," Melanie said in a bit of a quiet voice, brown eyes darting around the room. She could choose a seat close by the door right? Or by an elder student in case anything happened? Melanie sat down on a mat, fingers crossed that this lesson wouldn't be too difficult to understand and that nothing was in the dark ready to attack them all. This was a DADA class after all... maybe they'd be defending themselves from horrible, scary creatures. |
At first, Jake thought he had got the wrong classroom. But after a brief glance around the room, he realized that it was, in fact, the classroom. With... mats. And candles. He hoped that would be explained soon. As for now, he would just... get settled. After greeting the professor with a quick smile and a "Hello," Jake found an empty mat and took a seat, crossing his legs and leaning forward with his elbows on his knees. Let the fun/weirdness/explaining begin. |
Sees Vivi and Tay! Lex's brows creased as she tried her hardest to think of what they might do first. Hopefully it had something to do with shielding, that would have been ideal. Something caught her attention at the door and broke her concentration. Looking over she saw that Taylor had twirled into the room and had even waved to her. She flashed the girl a wide smile of acknowledgement and of course a wave because those were nice. She was about to start back on her very unruly train of thought when she was again distracted by another presence entering the room. This time it was Vivi! Lex saw her wave at her but it didn't seem like the other, normal waves. Nope. This one lacked spirit. Lex frowned slightly, wondering if her friend might have been ill but returned the wave and a small, "Hey." as she passed. |
mentions of Vivi & Selina Louisa walked into the expectedly candle-lit classroom. She'd prepared well for this lesson, her hair was healthy again and no short bangs or ragged edges, nothing should make her link this lesson to that incident. But somehow her subconscious already did the linking and now she was even more uneasy about the subject than she already has been all those six years. She was even looking forward for some Yoga exercises this term! So much change, yeah... "Hi professor," Louisa paused at Romanos' mat and gave the woman a measured smile and nod. Now to go find a mat. She maneuvered herself around and scanned the rows for an empty mat. The faces weren't really that obvious but the white-blonde girl was recognizable. Waving and smiling at Vivi (Vickers wasn't around yet so the girl was considered an enjoyable companion) Louisa approached her mat, "I hope you like yoga," she turned her attention to Selina nearby, giving her a nod and a measured smile then plopped down on the mat next to Vivi's. While they waited for the others to join them, the Ravenclaw figured some pre-yoga relaxation wouldn't hurt. She crossed her legs; each foot resting on either one of her thighs, back as straight as she mustered, eyes closed, hands gently resting on knees; the Ravenclaw surrendered herself to the |
Ariella strolled into the DADA classroom but stopped short walking across the threshold of the room. Instead of desks set up around the room, her classmates were sitting down on some weird purple mats...that was odd. Shrugging her shoulders she entered the room and greeted the professor with enthusiasm "Hello Professor!" She walked past and akwardly sat down on one of the mats with her legs crossed. She was really excited for this class, this one especially! |
Minerva walked into class and looked around. She couldn't help but smile, it had been the same the last few terms with the mats, which hopefully meant some of the yoga as well. She really did enjoy doing the yoga even if some other students did not. Looking around it was hard to see who was already there and who wasn't because of the darkness. Minerva shrugged and decided that she would just find an empty mat. Finding one in the corner front she put her bag down and turned to face the professor. Smiling she gave the professor a wave not wanting to disturb the quietness of the room. |

Blinking, he looked around and then shrugged. Meh. Some of these Professors were weird. Spotting Sutton, he walked over to hr and took a mat right beside her. "Hey, Sutton. Hello, Professor." He glanced at the teacher now. |
Isidora kinda wanted a lollipop right now, or something to suck on while she waited for the lesson to begin and so she thought about the stash of candy she had by her bed while rocking absently on her mat. She thought about the lesson too. Like what else they would be doing besides review. And yoga, probably. Her eyes scanned the classroom for hints. |

Just like other times when Tag walked into the DADA class it was sort of dim lighted with floating candles and stationary candles placed all over the room. There were rows of rows of mats placed on the floor and music playing in the background. If Tag hadn't known he'd probably lay down on the mat and have a good three hour nap. Hey, maybe he could do it in the middle of class, if he got too comfy. Too bad there weren't any pillows. So he slowly walked into the classroom and said "Hello Professor" as he made his way through. |
SPOILER!!: Hannybannany and Corabaaaby Elliot was a in a good mood. SOOO good of a mood that she might even go find Presley today and APOLOGIZE...actually, just kidding. Because Elliot most certainly never SAID SORRY. But she might try and make things better. Her recent 'totally unofficial' date with Maxwell over the weekend had definitely put her in hiiiiiigh spirits. "Good morning, Professor Romanas," she said with a smirk, nodding her head politely in the woman's direction. She spotted her two friends, Hannah and Cora, not sitting too far apart from each other...so she picked the seat in between them... But on her way to the mat.... SPOILER!!: Ewwwness Soaps and Laura She slung her lacy backpack over her shoulder and tried to manuever around all the mats...sure...she liked the mats and stuff....but still...they were...large... She accidentally stepped on one of them, stumbling a bit, but she caught herself..."Watch it, Soapy," she snapped, seeing that face....and those yellow colors.... And not too far away was the other monstrosity...LAURA HYDE.She rolled her eyes over at the puffer and took her rightful place in between Cora and Hannah. ..."Hey Cora...Hannah," she nodded at them both, a bit too smirk-y, even for Elliot. She turned to Hannah..."Hannah, I need to tell you something...it's URGENT!" Yes. Boys were urgent! |
Messer, Alec, Sophie, Ella, anyone :3 Alice bounced into DADA, bag slung over her shoulder, cringing when she spotted the purple mats in the dark room. No more yoga, right? She hated the yoga. She ended up breaking something every time she tried to practice it. "Hullo Professor Romanos." She greeted her professor with a wide smile before turning to find people to sit with. Soon enough, she spotted Messer, Ella, Alec, and Sophie. Oh. Good. She had friends here. Plopping down on an empty mat squashed in between her friends', she dropped her bag and turned to them without a greeting. "This won't involve more yoga.. yeah?" The mats said otherwise. Hmph. She loved Professor Romanos.. but yoga.. no. |
SPOILER!!: Elliot the heart attack stopper and Hannah Cora was very near exploding or passing out or SOMETHING. She was all alone in this dark room, well not ALL alone, and there WERE candles, but this counted in Cora's mind. She did not like the creepy sense she got. Thankfully, just then, Elliot sat down on the mat next to her. ELLIOT! "Hi," Cora said as she sighed audibly with relief. "I'm glad you're here, I'm a bit nervous." Elliot would help her if there was anything too intimidating. Now Cora felt fine, and obviously Elliot's good mood rubbed off on her. Cora had been wondering what the name of the girl sitting near her was, as she recognized her as Elliot's friend. Hannah. Cora wanted to introduce herself. "Hi, Hannah. I'm Cora, by the way," Cora said a bit shyly but not her normal timid level. "Of course she already knows my name," Cora thought, "Elliot just said 'hi' to both of us." Cora kicked herself a bit for being a bit awkward. Regardless, she shot Hannah a small smile, hoping that maybe after class she could get to know her a bit. |

Not wanting to talk more in class, Sutton simply reached over with her slightly trembling hand and grabbed Logan's hand to hold. He didn't have a girlfriend, right? She should really ask such questions... Happy to have the company, she turned back toward the front and waited for class to start. |
Ooooh spoookyyyy. The darkened room reminded Ethan of a haunted house... perfect for hiding in the shadows, jumping out and scaring the bejeezus out of each other. Or maybe the darkness would be perfect for sleeping... not that he'd ever sleep through class. Nope. Either one was good for Ethan and he maneuvered his way through the room, choosing an empty spot on the mats. Sitting cross-legged, he absentmindedly tapped out a tune with his wand on his shoe and kept his eye on all the corners of the room just in case someone was to jump out. |

Thought we'd continue our Friendship ;) SPOILER!!: Elliot Oakey came into the the as per usual dimly lite class room with candles and mats "Hello, Professor Romanos" Oakey said giving the Defense Professor a quick nod. He was sure to stretch some just before class began as well because he knew what was going to happen in this class... ...need he say it, there was going to be yoga! As he maneuvered around he spotted Ella, and Sophie, but he made sure to not notice Laura. He turned his head away from her quickly and hurried on to the nearest mat. As he sat he placed his things beside him then he heard a familiar voice. A voice that really liked tea. Oakey leaned forward and spoke to the girl in front of him. "Elliot?" Oakey asked in a quiet tone. "Elliot, I forgot to thank you for the tea, back on the train." The Ravenclaw girl didn't seem to nutty like the rest of her house and the tea they shared on the train wasn't to bad either. |
Alex arrived at the very first DADA lesson of the term. She was so excited to be back in her absolute favorite class. The room was rather dark, as usual and the familiar yoga mats were lining the floor. Walking between the mats, Alex headed toward the front of the class. "Hi Professor", she called out with a wave. Choosing a mat, Alex set down her bag and began to settle in for the lesson. |
For Anyone!! Ashten entered what he thought was the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, but did a double back outside of the classroom before reentering. The setup certainly was quite different than any Defense Against the Dark Arts class he had taken back in the United States. Perhaps, he thought, this was some English thing. Nevertheless, he acquiesced the room's quirkiness and proceeded to find a purple mat to sit down on. Finding an unoccupied mat, he tossed his bag aside the mat and sat down with his legs crossed. He turned to his bag and rummaged around until he pulled out a bottle of ink, a quill, and some parchment. He also pulled out his wand and laid the items in front of him. Sighing, he leaned back and supported himself with his arms straight out. He didn't particularly like the seemingly stuffiness of the room, and tugged at the neck of his robes uncomfortably. |
Emmaleigh had been eagerly awaiting the first Defense Against the Dart Arts class of the term. The class was usually really fun, and more importantly, it was useful stuff they needed to know. Her excitement for the class faded when she crossed the threshold. She had forgotten how strange the class had been during her fifth year. Continuing into the room, she greeted the professor with a small smile and a “Good day Professor.” Before making her way to one of the mats closer to the back. |
Louisa, Vivi, Kurumi, Aspen and Ashten DADA class today and he knows what that means.... ... Vickers crosses the threshold quite used to this darkened classroom now. He has taken to making a habit to do extra calisthenics in the morning whenever he has this class scheduled for the day, so hopefully he doesnt have to do too bad with the balance aspect of this yeah? Passing by the Professor he nodded his head and gave her a polite "Good Morning Professor." before making his way towards the mats. As he gazed over what mats were still vacant he spotted the blonde (Vivi), the red-head (Louisa), and the brunette (Kurumi) along with a hooded one he wasnt sure who it was (Aspen). Hmm where best to position himself?.... ... Oh a vacant mat right behind them. How convenient! He sets his book bag down gently and glanced towards his immediate neighbor beside him (Ashten). Must be new since he doesnt remember seeing the fellow the term before. And the guy has lined all his school stuff out like a good Ravenclaw. Not spotting his breakfast tray Vickers decided to hold off on that habit of lining stuff out and instead settles down quietly on his mat and just |
SPOILER!!: too nice Cora She almost wished Cora wasn't talking to Hannah. it's not that she didn't like Hannah OR Cora...it's just that the two were sooo completely different. And by different, she meant that Hannah would probably eat Cora for breakfast. Ouch. But she didn't say anything..she just hoped Hannah wouldn't be too snippy with poor Cora...and she was glad Elliot was there?! Awww...Elliot grinned. "You're too nice to me, Cora. Say something mean, now," she commanded, somewhat jokingly. The art of evilness is not something one can learn, anyways... SPOILER!!: that weird puffer boy Elliot? The blonde whipped around...that Smokey...no, Oakey kid. like the tree. "Hello, Oakey." She nodded politely in his direction. Puffers. This one was OKAY though. Not like the rest of them...*sigh* Thanks for the tea..."You're welcome. Tea is cleansing...and calming. And you seemed to need it." Yep. Especially since he had been going out with that MONSTER. Hyde. Who, as she had heard, weren't going out anymore...PAHAHAH! It made the corners of Elliot's mouth curl up just thinking about it. "You're welcome to come have tea with me any time. Usually I go down by the lake on Tuesdays. Sometimes allies join me...others not. You can come any time," she said with a smirk. Poor bloke. He probably needed some SERIOUS therapy after going out with laura. Like heavy duty stuff, too. |

"Hi, my name's Ashten Ritchko." He said with his obviously American accent. |

"Mornin' Professor" Jen said trying to be cheerful. She also had a bad head ache. Maybe she should go to the nurses after class. She spotted Laura and sat down next to her and waved a bit. |
:P Hi Professor. An d Beezus, Vickers (and Ashten), Logan, and Aspen the vampire. ;) Text Cut: Beezus! At least her hair wasn't still weirdly blue. Kendall felt better about that, being back to he rnormal auburn, pink-streaked hair self, even though for the most part she still was pretty much as confused as she'd been after the incident down at the lake with Patrick. Things still were awkward, but at least now she knew why he might be hiding from her. She needed to figure out her thoughts on it all, but there was also still class to deal with. And she wasn't going to skip DADA, just because it was the only subject at Hogwarts that really allowed her belief in zombies to stay active. She had barely noticed the decor as she'd stepped into the room, however, remebering to put leggings on underneath her uniform skirt. She didn't think the yoga stuff was going to go away just because there was a new headmistress. Professor Romanos was still there after all, and the fourth year managed to give the woman a slightly vague smile. "Hi, Professor Romanos," she said, turning in a small circle to look for a mat to settle onto for the lesson. She'd noticed Logan over with a Hufflepuff girl who looked a bit younger than she was, and gave him the tiniest of smiles even as she decided not to plant herself there. And she decided not to sit on any of the open mats near Vickers, either, sitting with another boy she thought she'd seen in the common room. Aspen had gotten a look as well, only insofar as Kendall was trying to decide if she was still being a vampire and if there was a risk of overwhelming garlic breath again like had happened in Herbology. In any case, her demeanor brightened more as she saw the familiar figure of Beezus near the back, and she made a beeline for the mat next to hers. Ignoring Abby in the back as well, since the rude Puff only reminded her of the new confusing stuff clogging her brain. "Hi Beezus," she whispered, barely above the soft and slightly creepy music that she'd only just noticed playing in the background. Could the lesson get started soon, so maybe she could concentrate on something other than her own confusion? |
Daichi and Vickers <3 Kurumi was very aware of Daichi sitting down on the empty mat beside her and she even turned slightly so she could face him while she unfolded her legs to wiggle her toes just a bit. Which was when she also noticed Vickers sitting just a few mats away and offered him a warm smile as well. Awkward...but warm... They had a few things...they needed to talk about... After the blow up with the Aparecium in Astronomy, Kurumi had managed to get her hands on a copy of the paper and seen some of the articles that had come out. Ones that she had been blissfully unaware of until now and...well...Kurumi felt like an awful person for...for not realizing or noticing certain things. Biting down on her lower lip and cheeks flushing a bit more, she turned her attention to Daichi - where is really should be right now instead of elsewhere. She could already tell that he was feeling tense. "Just...try to relax, Daichi," she whispered, leaning over just a bit so only he could hear. "Try to sort out your...fear. You are perfectly safe here." |
SPOILER!!: ButterflyKLQ "Ready for some yoga?" the brunette whispered further. UHH...why was she whispering again? |
SPOILER!!: Ashten, Kurumi, and Kendall Those piercing blues were looking around the room, wondering if despite the dimness he would still be able to read the notes on his parchment without having to use his wand. Just then his eyes caught Kurumi's gaze and that brief smile. He returned her smile with one of his own before shifting his gaze downward. Yeah he remembers they needed to talk over a few things. All in good time he supposed..... It was then that he got distracted by a speedy movement in his peripheral vision-- the auburn-haired one (Kendall) was zipping her way towards Beezus. Briefly he wondered what kind of trouble this young one can pull in a class like this. Maybe its a good thing Romanos keeps them from using their wands too often eh? Then he heard someone speak to him, easily enough since it was at the side of where his good ear was. He realized it was the organized Ravenclaw boy "Good to meet you Ashten. I'm Vickers Vanderbilt." he said as he offered a handshake. The boy's accent wasnt remiss and he wondered "Where are you from Ashten?" Having spoken more it was clear that Vickers wasnt from this neck of the woods either. |

....*mellow*.... What was this? What was with all the candles and music and mats and....ugh. He had to force himself not to scoff at everything he had laid his eyes on in this classroom. Standing just by the door, his staring took more than a moment before he decided to...choose a mat...like everyone else had done. Maybe all these had a good enough reason, a good purpose anyway. He tried not to be prejudiced about the class. ''Hello professor.'' he said to the woman who was sitting on a mat in front of the others before looking at the ones for students to choose one for himself. Then his gray eyes found her. She looked nice in her fine Ravenclaw uniform and the location she had chosen for the class looked the most intriguing in the class. With a slight smirk, he walked there and dropped his bag on the mat next to hers. ''Hi.'' She seemed to be talking to someone else but...that was no problem for Rich. He was going to do...something...to get her full attention. |
SPOILER!!: Turner Hearing a thump on her left side, Beezus didn't offer any greeting whatsoever to the student who decided to occupy the mat mat on her other side. Not that she didn't have manners, it was just..at the moment, she was more concerned about her friend than some random person sitting next to her. Hold on...she knew that voice. It sounded familiar.. It was, "Rich?" she uttered as she turned to him. |

He breathed out shakily as he sat with his knees pulled up to his chest. You would have thought that, since he was fifteen now he would be able to deal with this but he didn't. Each time he saw a fire somewhere his mind immediately went to that night when his own house was on fire. He didn't remember much of it, just flashes but the worst part was....it all started with a single candle. Hearing Kurumi speak, Daichi tried to focus his attention to the girl. He lowered his gaze and bit his lower lip. "I know...it's just...it's ...i don't know how" He heaved a deep sigh and placed his chin on his knees. "I know i'm safe here, but...i .." It was still terrifying. |
Goodness, there are a lot of you... Quote:

SPOILER!!: Elliot. Cora being mean? Cora focused hard. Something mean. She actually was trying, she was just bad at it. "Ummmmm. I DON'T want you to sit next to me?" Cora tried out, practically asking, very uncomfortably. She grimaced as she looked to Elliot. Not only was this a complete lie, but if Elliot WASN'T sitting next to her, she might have to leave the class. She was certain that Elliot would start laughing, since she even found her attempt kind of funny, too. Quote:

Text Cut: Kendall, Kurumi, Vickers, and Professor Romanos An enthusiastic grin spread across Ashten's face as Vickers shook his hand and introduced himself. With the dimly lit room, the candlelight danced across the older Ravenclaw's face. The fifth-year wondered if he looked as odd in the candlelight as he did. But that was besides the point. "I am from the US," Ashten replied after the handshake. "What about yourself-?" His attention was broken as a girl with red and pink hair ran past the pair of them and joined another girl near them. He raised his eyes slightly at her abruptness, but didn't think too much of it. He also noticed that Vickers looked in her direction as well. And just before Ashten asked if he knew her, yet another woman walked by and gave Vickers an awkward smile. Does this fella know everyone? Ashten thought. "Well you seem quite popular," Ashten chuckled, his dark eyes glowing with the candlelight. His eyes fleeted towards the Professor, and Ashten realized she was looking at him. And she wasn't just looking at him and smiling like a Professor usually does. No, her eyebrows were slightly raised towards him. Perplexed, Ashten looked around the room. He wouldn't consider himself an odd person, in demeanor or appearance. It wasn't until he looked back down to the ground next to his legs that he realized he was the only student who had laid out his supplies like an overly-excited first-year. His cheeks flushed a tinge of pink as he picked up his parchment, ink, and quill and tossed them inside his bag. He'd get them when he needed them. And then it dawned on him that he hadn't even greeted the professor. The slight tinge of pink turned darker as his face showed slight chagrin. "Good morning, Professor Romanos!" he said, waving to her kindly. He hoped that would suffice. Hopefully. |
Text Cut: Bit of Ella and Mins Harvey walked into the room and was greeted with the usual darkness, he stood there allowing his eyes to adjust to the dark room before continuing his walk into the room. He greeted his professor "Hi Professor, hope you see well and had a good summer" he smiled as he looked for a place to sit, he noticed the mats that were there, that meant they were going to do yoga weren't they? Oh boy he was going to fall again. He then saw Ella sat with her friends and decided against sitting there as he had planned to do during the summer, that way she would feel less awkward and would be able to concentrate on the lesson. He then walked deeper into the room and noticed Mins was there too. That was better, so he chose a mat that was near her and sat down "Hi Mins" he smiled as he called out to her to show her that he was here in class so no more glaring at him. He then waited for class to start. |
Quote:
Vaguely aware of the professor's eyes seemingly on him, Ethan turned his attention back to the front of the class and on one particular shadow behind Romanos. That would make a perfect hiding spot... he thought as his mind began to wander, his anticipation growing as he waited for class to begin. |

*glaaaare* Why did they always have to have the yoga mats out? ...and why did they always have to do yoga? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sierra had heard all the reasonings behind it, but just once, couldn't they just chill while learning about dementors and inferi? She frowned at the music. This was such a creepy class. ...and no, she wasn't scared. She was just...maybe eyeing all the scenery a little too much. |

SPOILER!!: Elliot Hannah nodded at her friend. She needed to tell her something urgent? She really hoped that it didn't have anything to do with her father or new baby brother. "Wait for me after class and we will talk." Because she didn't want her friend saying anything in front of listening ears. Then she heard another voice interupt her thoughts. She turned her head towards the sound of the voice. SPOILER!!: Cora Still she decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and besides it wasn't as if Hannah had a lot of friends so maybe just maybe she shouldn't be so judgemental right off the bat. "Hello Cora...pleasure to meet you." She said in her I'm soo much better than you are voice and I am only giving you a chance because you are Elliot's friend. |

"Vell it isn't school vithout some drama." she chuckled lightly, though not too much to seem offending in case the drama was happening to her. "I am pleased to see you in class though." With one more glance at her watch, Medea took out her wand and flicked it to the arena doors. They closed slowly with a loud creeeaaaak, leaving them to rely only on the candles for light. She'd know if someone came in late this way. "Alright, everyone. I think it's time ve start. I hope you all had a splendid summer and ready to learn." Sitting up straight, the professor softly cleared her throat before speaking again, only this time, most of her unusual accent was...gone. "For those who do not know me, I am Professor Romanos, your defense against the dark arts teacher, and yes, we will be putting these mats to good use during our lessons." Nothing like squishing that last piece of hope for some students who hated the yoga. "Before we begin, I would like you all to move into what we call the 'Lotus Position'. If you don't know what that is, look at how I am sitting or turn to an older student for help." Despite the either creepy or calm way the candles lit up the room, depending on one's point of view, it should've been enough to see how she currently sat. "Today we are indeed going over review to refresh our minds on this topic, as we have from previous years, however..." She paused momentarily for dramatic effect. "I am going to be re-introducing the five senses this year as well as hoping to detour most of your standard way of thinking during classes." The first answer they thought of was usually what was blurted out. "To do that, today, when you raise your hand to answer a question, whatever that answer may be...I want you to stop, clear that answer from your mind, and give me a different one. Does everyone understand that?" OOC: Class has begun! If you are just joining us now, please don't post being late and feel free to post your character as if they've been here the entire time. Otherwise, you may risk losing points. ;] |
SPOILER!!: professor Tay nodded at what the professor said before class started. She listen as the teacher talked. Taylor went into the lotus position. Her face wrinkled in confusion to why the teacher would want a different answer but said nothing, since the instructions were simple. |
Glancing to the side she noticed that Taylor had taken one of the mats close to her! Yaaay! With the lights so dim and someone next to her it was even less likely that someone would have been able to make a successful hit at her! Now she was ready to learn the art of protecting hersel--WHAT?! Yoga? "You mean that stuff my step-mother does every morning when she's trying to ignore me??" Merlin, Lex didn't even want to think about it! She had seen the women on tv do some pretty amazing things, and by amazing she meant unrealistic, totally non-human--you must have been born without bones--kinda stuff. Relaxing was hardly the word she would use to describe it...more like self torture O___O And more importantly, what did that have to do with her defending herself from idiots throwing spells at her in the future? Now they were being asked if they understood. Her hand flew up but then she quickly pulled it down as she tried thinking of an answer that was different from the one she was going to say. Oh! She had it. "No." Her first impulse was yes which meant the answer was 'no'. It made perfect sense when you thought about it. |
At the professor's greeting, Vivi offered a near-smile, a quirk of her lip that approximated smiling as best she was able at the moment. They were going to do yoga? Like... sit around and ohhhhhhhhhm? There was a laundry list of things Vivi expected to learn from her new quality Defense instructor, and an even longer list of things she thought she ought to know before applying for the YATI program... The lotus position did not happen to be on that list. "I am super bendy girl," she muttered under her breath as she crossed her legs, looking briefly to Louisa to be sure she was doing it right. Probably she was awesome at yoga. Superbendy!Vivi was going to be awesome too. |
Having already sat down when he had originally arrived, Gideon simply adjusted himself to duplicate the woman's position as best he could when class was called to order. The yoga moments done throughout various lessons weren't always doable at least to him anyway, but the starting one seemed easy enough. Listening carefully to what Professor Romanos had to say about reviewing and trying to answer out of the box as he moved, the prefect nodded his head in response. "Aye Professor," he answered quietly almost to himself as he relaxed into lotus position. |
Yoga? We were doing yoga? What about all the hexes in the textbook?! The unimaginably horrific creatures?! No. Yoga. Kai sighed and crossed his legs. "Yoga is for girls. How would yoga stop a manticore ripping you limb from limb?" he muttered under his breath, quietly enough to avoid the ears of his professor. This could be a long lesson. |
Yoga. Hmm. Her sister Amber had had an obsession with it for a while, thinking that it would improve her Quidditch performance, but Vee had never tried it herself. It looked so... uncomfortable. With a sigh, she tok her place on a nearby mat (orange, her favourite colour) and tried to twist her legs into the same position her professor was sitting in. Wow, this was hard! And it hurt! She could just tell she'd get cramps within minutes. And what was this about not giving the first answer that came to mind? What if she knew the answer, was she meant to give the wrong one? Or just... phrase it differently, so technically it wouldn't be the answer that she first thought of because she'd be using different words... right? Well, anyway, she'd see when there'd be a question posed, Vee decided, wincing as her knee joints began to complain. |
Awar crossed her legs into the lotus position. This was actually very comfortable. She closed her eyes and listened to the music the professor was playing. It made her feel like an extraterrestrial being was going to come down and abduct them all, but yet it was utterly soothing. |
Laura looked down at the mat, oh the torture that was happening in her little brain at the minute, she hated Yoga but she had promised that she would behave and she was going to stick to that promise, she was fighting with her legs, they didn't want to do the yoga, but in the end her mind won the fight and she sat in the Lotus position. Laura listened to what the Professor said and was about to say yes when she cleared her mind and then said a totally different answer. "I may or I may not understand the instructions." Laura was hoping she had done it right, well she would wait and see what the Professor said. |
As Kurumi began to shift into their first position on her mat, turning forward again so that she was facing the professor instead of Daichi, the Gryffindor gave her legs one last stretch and then crossed her legs...but not before leaning over a bit to whisper something to Daichi. "Meet me after class? I think we might be able to help each other," she said. Her with flying and Quiddich and him with his fear of fire. It had been Daichi, after all, who had been the one during the lesson to try and encourage her first. Legs folded at the appropriate angles and all that, Kurumi rolled and attempted to relax her shoulders a bit as her body molded itself into the familiar position...only to come out of it slightly when she heard what the professor had to say. So...they were supposed to throw out their first answer and come up with an entirely new one!? Why did Kurumi get the feeling she was going to be aaaaaaaaaaawfully silent during this lesson? She half wanted to raise her hand and ask about what if their first answer was right and if that meant they had to change it to an incorrect one...but she refrained and instead tried to refind her center in their first position. Which was getting to be sort of difficult now that she had to think about changing her answers.... meh. |
Cassia sat relaxed on the mat with her knees hugged to her chest. When the lights went out the second-year stiffened. She swallowed hard. No one said anything about having the class in total darkness. Well, it wasn't total darkness but it was dark! And Cassia is afraid of the dark. She breathed slowly trying to convince herself that it was not that dark and she could handle it. Though she wasn't convinced in her own thoughts. The twelve-years old glanced at where the Professor was standing or sitting whatever, and raised her eyebrows in reproof. I thought I liked you and your lesson Professor, Cassia said in her own head. She tried to swallow the lump in her throat but that will take time. Lotus position, yeah she knew that. Cassia bent her short legs and crossed them. She placed her hands in the right position as well. But all was done in slow motion because the girl was afraid that if she moved fast something would happen or sense her or anything. Why did they have to do it in the dark! Cassia tried to relax hoping that no one will tap her on the shoulder or nudge her by accident because that won't be very good. Cassia couldn't always control her reactions. And whatever Professor Romanos asked Cassia's mind didn't quite catch it. |

West was going to say yes. He was going to blurt out yes, in fact. But instead he cleared his mind and gave her a different one. "No." Also, hand up. "Can I jog? Instead? Again?" Like last term. He was too restless to just SIT there. |
Yoga? Tag looked beside himself. Was he in the right class? He did not sign up to get a work out. Tag signed up to learn education, especially about dark arts, dark gloomy paintings. Well, he sure hoped they'd use their wand at least, then he'd know if he entered the right class. Following the teacher, with a very noticeable frown Tag sat down, crossed both his legs over and placed his hands on the top of his knee. Slowly he closed his eyes and began to absentmindedly hum. "Mhmmmmmmm. Mhmmmmm." |
SPOILER!!: Hanny Elliot nodded, and lowered her voice to a whisper..."Okay...meet me...like...in the owlery..I have to send a letter to Dani," and her father, maybe, if she felt like. She watched the exchange between Cora and Hannah..and was a little nervous. But Cora would definitely like Hannah...the only question was if Hannah would like Cora. Hmmmph. Quote:
Okay...Elliot could do that...ehh...it was super annoying, but she could do that. Think of a new answer...She took a deep breath. closed her eyes, and tried to clear her mind... Which was very hard at the moment. |
Err... what? There were several disturbing things going on in this classroom. First of all, the fact that the professor had memorized the names of ALL the new students... including Sutton... that REALLY weirded her out. And now they were doing yoga? What was this... gym class? Glancing around, Sutton saw that all the other students seemed to be going right along with this mostly. Sutton raised her hand but then put it back down, unsure of how she was supposed to give another answer to a yes or no question without lying... Instead of answering, she let go of Logan's hand and situated herself into this... Lotus position as the professor had instructed them. This was so weird. |
Minerva listened at the Professor started class and smiled a little as she said they would be doing some yoga. Min thought she should do some of these outside of the classroom as well. Once instructed Minerva sat down and put herself in Lotus Position just as the professor was doing. She looked around to help any first years that might seem to need some help. As she looked around she shook her head yes to the professors question, it was odd why wouldn't their first answer be the one she wanted, but she was the professor so Minerva wasn't going to question here. |
Jen loves Yoga. Best class ever. She crossed her legs and put her hands on her knees. |

She had been fortunate enough to find an empty mat behind her friend Cora. She was about to give her a light poke on the shoulder to let her know she was there, when the professor gave them their first instructions. “We’re going to, what?” Eliza looked around the room. “Is this normal?” she wondered. She had thought Defense Against the Dark Arts was going to be a lot of action and spell learning, but maybe – since it was lesson one, they would start off slowly. She was thankful for that. “I wouldn’t want to take anyone’s eye out on accident.” Watching the professor go into what she called The Lotus, Eliza tried to match her position. “Okay...” observing the way Professor Romanos put her feet on the tops of her legs, she realized this would be difficult. “And it’s only the first instruction,” she thought. Eliza sat cross legged and tried to pull her left foot up over her right knee. “Okay, that wasn’t so hard.” She breathed out. “Now for the next one.” Getting her right foot to also come up was a whole other story. She pulled and pulled, but each time her left leg just slipped off again. “I’m definitely not as flexible as she is.” Exasperated with her lack of flexibility, Eliza settled on sitting plain cross legged for now, until she was able to stretch further. “Now what?” she wondered. Sitting patiently, she wondered if she’d be able to whisper to Cora without getting them both in trouble. Hearing how quiet it was in the room though, she decided not to chance it …yet. |
Belle remembered doing yoga last year in the previous lessons. She loved the idea of yoga. Belle was kind of confused at what the professor was asking but she usually learned to go with the flow of things. Belle positioned herself in the lotus position and was taking three deep breaths and relaxing herself. |
Playing catch up Alyssa smiled when the Professor immediately told them to get into the lotus position. Moving her legs, she folded them one on top of the other in front of her in a seating position on her lap. Then she straightened her back and sat up straight. She listened as the Professor told them what to do when she asked her first question. 'Drop the first answer that came to their mind and think of another?' Alyssa thought to herself. 'Okay this is going to be very interesting indeed.' Alissa tried to clear her mind as she waited for Professor Romanos to ask her first question. |
