Sir Nicholas floated into the filthy and dimly lit broom cupboard to wait for the Grey Lady, Friar and hopefully the Baron.

The transparent man was quite agitated as he circled the room.

The Grey Lady followed Sir Nicholas hastily. She was not a patient woman usually but was even less patient when she was frustrated or angry, so she was through the roof agitated and fidgety.

When she came through the wall, she almost floated right into Nicholas as he floated around in a circle.

"O goodness...excuse me Nicholas...I didn't see you there..." she said apologizing and then the tension got the best of her and she couldn't help but giggle a little bit at her last comment.

Wait, where had they gone?

The Friar had been so flustered by recent events he'd lost sight of his fellow ghosts as they'd exited the hall. He hovered just outside the doors, looking both ways up and down the entrance hall. "Sir Nicol--" he started to call, when he heard the voice of the Grey Lady coming from in the nearby broom cupboard.

Zooming through the closed door, he came to a sudden stop, nose to nose with the Ravenclaw ghost. "Oh, my apologies, dear lady," the Friar said, holding up a chubby hand. "I was going to go down to the kitchen to request a barrel from the elves, but it occurred to me we've not discussed where we're going to do this... this capture." He shuddered slightly at that. Yes, Peeves was incredibly annoying, and if he'd done this to their precious students they needed to find out, but still. It didn't sit easy with him.

Circling the room and brooding about the lockout Sir Nicholas didn't see the Grey Lady until she almost floated right into him.

"It's all right dear lady. No damage done." He said as he floated a few paces backwards just as a precaution.

Sir Nicholas didn't have time to start circling the room again before the Friar zoomed in looking flustered and agitated. The Friar came to a sudden stop nose to nose with the Grey Lady.

It looked a little comical the Gryffindor ghost had to admit before focusing on what the Friar was actually saying. A deep frown creased his forehead as Sir Nicholas contemplated the alternatives.

"How about if we capture him in the staff room? That way the school staff can also press him for answers about the lockout."

She listened intently and shook her head up and down in agreement..."Yes, that's perfect and we should get to it quickly...how are we going to lead him that way?" she asked putting her hands on her hips casually.

If only the Baron was here Sir Nicholas sighed. He'd know just the perfect way to lure Peeves to the staff room but he wasn't there yet. "Think he could be lured with candy?" He wondered out loud.

It was the Lady who had the brains. She should come up with something or the Friar could when he had his moments.

She thought about that for a moment and then shook her head while cocked her right eyebrow, "Hmmmm....candy might work....doesn't the Bloody Baron have some kind of authority or control over him....he could possibly just tell the little entity to meet him in the Staff Room...." she said remembering a story the Baron enjoyed telling her from back in Harry Potter's days.

"Candy, yes!"

Oh, how he missed his food.

But the Friar clapped his big hands together and nodded. Staff Room with a lure. It was good thinking. "The Baron is an idea, certainly. Peeves respects, and fears, him more than anyone else. But might I suggest a slightly sneakier approach? How about asking the house elves for help?" His mind was whirring as he processed his thoughts, and bobbed around on the spot. How could they do it without the little pest knowing he was in trouble first?

"Perhaps they could lure him, and then BAM, trap him for us?" He beamed at his fellow ghosts, expectantly.

The Baron floated in slowly and looked at the Grey Lady. He stopped in mid air, not floating anymore and he bowed at the waist with a short, "M'Lady..." He was nothing if not a gentleman. He looked at the Friar and Nick and said "Has Peeves gotten into your common rooms too?" He said with a low gutteral growl.
