Lowering her voice as more customers trickled into the store Emerald murmured to Saul "I know, no gray hair. It’s definitely peculiar, if she was the one who established the shop back in the day, she’d be over 300 years old. That can’t be possible can it, because she looks like she is 18?" Touching her own brown curls she didn’t look forward to getting grey hair. If she did she’d go to Monte and beg him to dye her hair black or something.
Getting a thought Emerald asked tentatively "She couldn’t be one of them cold ones, right Saul those who are blessed with immortality?" The thought in itself was scary. But the ones she spoke of weren’t uncommon back in the day. Shivering suddenly she hoped Saul had a more logical idea.
Saul nodded some more, thinking over what Emerald had said and implied.
"She sure don't look like a cold 'un." Saul stopped nodding and abruptly shook his head. No, the ginger up the street was definitely a fully living, breathing, red-blooded human. But at the same time....
"She can't be 300 years old without doin' some Dark Magic, either."
This sure was a conundrum, and Saul Bunyons wanted ter git ter the bottom of it. He still hadn't forgiven himself for not getting involved sooner when that werewolf ring had come to Hogsmeade, after all...
"I'mma look inter it, Emerald, tell ya what." Saul straightened up and adjusted his hat.
"I'll keep ya informed all right. You take care now." He nodded and gave her a gentle nudge, eying all the children in the shop before moving swiftly out the door. He had Stuff Ter Do now.
