Penelope had heard about the Whomping Willow, at least a little bit, and so she was curious about it. Did it really move on its own if you got close enough? She could easily believe that it could injure you badly...IF it did move. AND if it did, was it possible to get close enough to it to make it start moving and still get away without being hurt? Because she definitely wanted to test it if it WAS possible. |

For Edric's SECOND favorite lady :p Ella skipped down to the whomping willow with her copy of Tuck Everlasting and found a good spot in the grass to relax. Plopping down, the second year lay on to her belly and looked around with a smile. The weather was definitely getting warmer, making her feel like a much happier little human...well despite the whole Harvey business. Ehh. Flipping open to the page with her bookmark, the blonde began to read. |

Evelyn's least favorite place in the grounds but that was only place that wasn't filled with people. Gosh. There were students EVERYWHERE. She couldn't really blame them since it was spring and people wanted to enjoy the warm sunshine but still. It was a little annoying. With a small sigh, she walked across the grass, adjusting the strap of her bag over her shoulder.. when she noticed someone familiar lying on a patch of grass nearby. "Ella!" |

Ella smiled as she read, closing her eyes for a moment to imagine the music that might have been coming through the trees. She imagined it was something soft and sweet and could hear it in her mind as she opened her eyes again. ... The second year stopped reading when she heard someone calling her name, and turned to look and see who was approaching. Oh! It was Evelyn |
Evelyn smiled at the girl, although she was feeling slightly uncomfortable. Seeing Ella made her remember the previous conversation they'd had and considering everything that had happened since, she wasn't sure if she was ready to talk about what happened yet.. because she knew for sure Ella would bring up Edric again. "How are you?" Evelyn asked, slowed down until she stood next to where Ella was now sitting. |

Did she want to sit with her? Um, okay. Evelyn gave a small smile before she sat down next to the girl. Hm? Did Evelyn think too much? She nodded and smiled again. "I uh.. I overanalyze things, you know?" She wasn't a person to let something go.. she just had to keep thinking about it until she figured it out. If that even made sense. "What are you reading?" Maybe it was so boring that Ella couldn't get into the story.. it happened. |

The second year was pleased when Eve decided to sit with her. It was nice to have a friend around, especially since she'd been spending a lot of time hiding out in the common room lately. Huh? Evelyn over analyzed things? That meant she thought too much, yeah? "I sure do know. I erm...do that a lot too." It was awful really. She wished she could just...not. As for Eve's question. "I'm reading Tuck Everlasting. It is my..." Ugh. Her mom. She didn't want to even say the word out loud...mom. She was still very mad at the woman. "My er..mom's favorite book when she was a kid." She then picked the book off the ground and handed it to the older badger so she could check it out. |

Tuck Everlasting? Okay. Evelyn raised an eyebrow when she noticed the slight hesitation in the girl's voice when she said it was her mother's favorite book as a kid. "Is everything alright?" She wasn't being nosy.. just concerned. Evelyn placed her bag on the ground before she had a look at the book the girl just handed over. She turned it over and read the synopsis on the back.. um. She frowned and looked up at Ella again. "It.. uh.. seems like an interesting novel. How are you liking it so far?" |

Eve's next question brought a small smile to Ella's face, though she wasn't exactly sure if what she was about to say was classified as funny or not. "Just going through stuff..." Heh. See? And it was kinda funny, seeing as they' just mentioned such things. "My mom...well she isn't around anymore. She um...left. So yeah...I don't like to erm...think about her." Though the second year was no longer bursting into tears every time she talked about her so...good sign? Ella noticed Evelyn's frown and wondered why she was doing that. "It's...good. I guess it's kinda sad too. I don't know. I guess I thought if I read it I might understand my mom better or something...is that dumb?" |
Ella was a good listener.. right. Evelyn hesitated for a moment, not even sure what to say. There were loads of things she was worried about and the girl didn't have to sit for hours and listen to whatever problems the Prefect was going though. "Um. It's just.. I guess I'm a little worried about NEWT's and my future and a little sad that I'm leaving soon.. and I'm turning eighteen in a few days and.." And, yeah. Evelyn looked away from the girl before she continued, ".. something that happened the other day." Evelyn's face showed surprise when Ella mentioned the fact that her mother left her. What!? Why? Gosh, that was horrible. She kind of knew what Ella was going through though. Her mother hadn't left but she'd pretty much stopped caring about her.. which was the same thing. "I'm so sorry to hear that, Ella." She leaned forward and hugged the girl. Dumb? "Not at all." Evelyn said, shaking her head. "I suppose it's your way of deal with what's happened." |

SPOILER!!: Mrs. Ogre Oh wow. Evelyn did have a lot going on! Ella wasn't expecting that the girl was going through so much...stuff. She listened carefully though, trying to think of good encouraging things to say to the older badger. "You're smart, Eve! You shouldn't be so worried. I guess just do your best and that'll be good enough...as for your future. Well, what do you love to do?" People should find out what they love to do and try and do that for the job. Like Ella, for instance, would be a professional gummy worm taste tester if she could! Frown. The Evelyn leaving thing was quite sad, she totally understood her being down about that. "You know, Edric told me I don't have to feel sad when he leaves next term cause he'll keep in touch so...so maybe you don't have to feel sad because people will keep in touch with you?" She offered with a small smile. And wait-what?! "Your birthday is coming up! Wow! Eighteen. That's...that's exciting! Are you going to do anything fun?" If not, Ella had an idea of what she could do! The last thing Evelyn mentioned got the second year extremely curious. Something happened? What kind of something? Hmmm... "Was it...something bad?" The hug...was unexpected. But Ella leaned forward and squeezed the older girl tightly before letting go. "Thanks. I...well I guess she wanted to go what was it...follow her dreams or whatever." Shrug. "I've got dad and gran though, so I don't need her..." Though she didn't sound too sure about that. The second year was really glad Evelyn didn't think she was dumb. "Yeah...I guess it is." She said with a small smile, eyeing the book before turning her attention back to her house prefect. |
