On the darkest of dark nights, down the rolling, phthalo green hills of Hogwarts, at the extreme back of the barnyard, in what used to be an old winged horse stall with no door and is now a converted fireplace..... lies one very shiny, very large egg-like object.
The object seems to be giving off an incredible amount of heat and occasionally quivers to and fro as the flames lick the sides of the cauldron it sits in. What is it, you wonder? You seem to be half-hypnotized by the shady, crackling, almost bubbling object; you hardly even notice the absence of the hay bales where you usually sit. In fact, there doesn't seem to be ANYWHERE to sit.
So you stand, shifting awkwardly from foot to foot, and waiting for more directions from Professor Williamson, who IS sitting, on a little metal stool, his back to the arriving class.
She entered the barnyard,"Good evening professor." She and then joined the others, she was happy to be in the class, since it was one of her favorties.
Greetings, everyone, consider class STARTED. and LOL Anna, I am honored!!! haha

He saw that it was in a cauldron getting heat so maybe it will hatch soon. Nigel couldn't wait. He walks past the professor and says "Nice to meet you Professor Williamson".Nigel starts to look for a seat and sees that the professor has one but there are none for the students. There was not even hay to sit on, how depressing. Seeing as there was no seats he decided the only option is to stand and wait for the Professor to address the class.

Was that...?
Nah...it couldn't be.
...Could it?
Kennedy stared at what he thought MIGHT be a dragon egg with glazed eyes. He's wanted one SO bad since he knew they actually existed. He even asked his father for one for Christmas. OR...what if it was something else? A mythical beast or something along those lines? "Hello, Professor Williamson," he said. His green eyes still glued on the dragon egg object. The Prefect didn't even noticed there was nowhere to sit. He just stood there.

She had theories, of course, and some of them were a little too far out there seeing as her imagination had once again run away with her.
Upon arriving, however, Kurumi's eyes widened and she just STARED at the converted fireplace and WHAT was inside it. Could she just run right up to it now?! PLEASE!? Kurumi all but sprinted towards Professor Williamson, completely not noticing the lack of places to sit, and BEAMED at him. "GOOD EVENING PROFESSOR WILLIAMSON!" she chirped with almost uncharacteristic enthusiasm. Had he actually done it?! What she had asked on the practical portion of her final exam last term? DID HE DID HE DID HE?!
Still beaming, Kurumi moved to sit down in her usual location....only there was nothing there to catch her as she sat. With a soft THUD, the Gryffindor landed on the ground and wore an expression of utter shock. Wait...where had the hay bales gone? One more glance at the FIREPLACE with the EGG in it made her forget just how embarrassed she was about falling to the ground and she was back to beaming again....from the ground.

He made his way to the back of the darkened barnyard until he came to the source of fire and heat.
"Good evening Professor," he greeted the man, standing off to one side of the area they were to gather in. Spotting the object in the cauldron the prefect couldn't help but raise and eyebrow as the scene looked familiar from his visits with his brother. Was that egg really what he thought it was? Gideon was brought back to the present when he heard a soft fall to the ground and spotted Kurumi seated on the floor.
"Um...hey Kurumi. Ye okay?" he asked, offering a hesitant hand in case she wanted to stand back up. She certainly seemed better then he had seen her lately.

Nothing ever seemed to go as planned in Professor Williamson's lesson so the class was surely in for an adventure.
Entering the back of the barnyard, Ella's attention was immediately drawn to the fireplace, or rather what was inside the fireplace. What on earth was that sitting in the flames? And was-was it actually moving? Ella's eyes grew wide, her mind running wild with possibilities as she stared into the flames.
After a few minutes, Ella shook her head to snap herself out of the trance. But wait, where were they to sit? FROWN. Ella just wanted to sit near the fire and get comfy cozy while she watched the egg thing. Especially if something was about to hatch out of it. Give me ze widdle babies, please. Looking around at her fellow classmates who were also standing, she noted Professor Williamson. At least he had a nice seat. "Hey Professor Williamson." She said, smiling at the man. "Did you use the hay bales to make the fire?" And no, she wasn't trying to be funny. It was just the only rational explanation she could think of for the lack of seats up in this barn.

A small group of students was already present. "Good evening, Professor Williamson," he said, though quietly. The man appeared to be preoccupied, his back turned to the incoming throng. Keefer contented himself with walking over toward where Kurumi, Kennedy, and Gideon stood, the only upperclassmen there so far. He didn't bother greeting them verbally, just with a nod of the head. She didn't hate him. No Jezzabelle couldn't HATE people, it went against her natural loving nature. She was cautious of him though, if not a little weary. However, having class at night was pretty awesome although she wasn't sure why she needed things that were fireproof...until she arrived at the location of the class.
It was odd, almost creepy if she was being honest and she was. As she approached she said, "Evening Professor Williamson." As she moved a little closer she looked into the cauldron and saw an egg. Her imagination began to take off with her and she hoped that it wasn't what she thought it was. She looked around and found not a place to sit. no hay to relax on but that didn't stop her from stepping away from the cauldron and plopping down on the grass with a soft THUD. Flames flickered in William's eyes as his deep, penetrating gaze reflected the fire before him. Students entered, talked at him, talked at each other, tried to sit on air, and gaped at the egg, but after about five long, awkward minutes of zero professor direction, the man leading this class snapped out of his stupor and stood up so suddenly from his stool that he nearly knocked the thing over.
Righting the stool, and blinking at the sudden appearance of students, Williamson cleared his throat and then moved his stool out, somewhat shooing them back from the converted fireplace.
"Hello, hello, hello," he randomly nodded around at the kids, not greeting anyone in particular. Of course they were ALL welcome in his classroom, so long as they took care of the creatures. And each other. Maybe.
"First things first, I'm going to need everybody to take a few BIG steps backward, that's right, and then a few more. There. Good." William chased them away from his fireplace in a nice, calm manner, until the students who had entered last nearly had their backs against the wall with the barn door. Now that they were not in any danger of catching fire, he motioned for them all to sit down.
Hmm. Where were those benches he'd meant to bring in? Ah, no matter. Must've just slipped his mind. "You all can take a seat on the floor, my apologies for, er, the lack of more comfortable seating, but I have a feeling we won't be here long. So. Thanks for coming."
He smiled and rubbed his hands, glancing over his shoulder just once more at his precious project in progress.
"While we wait for the start of the..... event that I invited you to, I would like everyone to begin by sketching what they see before them. You brought paper and pencils, right? And fireproof footwear and stuff?" Willy shot the older students looks. He was going to blame the older ones for not reminding the younguns if anyone was unprepared and got hurt as a result. Fingers crossed though, nothing would go wrong today. Right?!
He cleared his throat and his mind of such thoughts. "So yes, that's your first task of this class. Draw the ah... well I'll tell you it's an egg, but I won't tell you what KIND of egg, draw the egg in the cauldron and the fire and such as you see it. I realize it's rather dark in here, so you may use your wands as a sort of drawing light, but give me your best sketch." The professor beamed at them all happily. "All righty then? While you work on that, I just have one more thing to prepare for today's lesson."
Williamson nodded at the older students once again, sort of giving them a nonverbal cue to keep the younger kids on task, and then disappeared around the corner of the barn. Two metal buckets were just visible in his hands before the darkness swallowed his tall frame.
OOC: WHEW, lengthy post there! Sorry for not replying to you all directly, but I will reply to your drawing posts! Sketch the scene you see here as I've described it, either by hand (in real life), in Photoshop, or in Paint. The more creative you are on your own, the more points you'll get! No credit will be given to photos taken straight off the internet. I want to see what YOU can do on your OWN.
When you've finished your drawing, upload it to a photo hosting site and post it in here under a spoiler tag for grading! Class will continue tomorrow (EST) sometime (likely not for another 18-ish hours). HAVE FUN, but don't chat too much! Williamson is still within earshot. ;D

Now what she needed to do was draw what she was seeing in front of her. So she pulled out her paper and drawing pencils and started to draw.

Gideon turned his attention to Professor Williamson when he began the class in ernest, listening to what he was telling them. He took first one and then two obediant steps backwards as directed, assuming the man figured it was probably for the best of everyone's safety to keep a safe distance. Hopefully sitting on the floor didn't mean sitting on something unexpected, he mused to himself though the area seemed clean so he took a seat on the ground. No sense standing if he didn't have to and the professor had instructed them to if only for the short time he alluded.
He listened intently, quite interested already even if the type of egg wasn't entirely clear. Paper and quill ready once he took it from his school bag, Gideon began to work on the drawing, opting to do his best without wand light. It might be a little harder but trying to sketch with one hand and holding the parchment without a flat surface while also holding onto a lit wand wasn't the easiest position to get in let along stay for the duration of the sketching. Even if it was supposed to be a simple, quick drawing.

Big steps back. Right. Nora was more than glad to do that, because she wanted to stay away from the fire and the heat and all. Besides, if the egg had what she thought it had inside it, she didn't want to be too close, just in case it decided to explode or something. Not in her face, and not on her robes, nooo thank you. But... they had to sit on the ground? Seriously? That was when Nora regretted terribly that she had no idea how to conjure a chair, or transfigure something else into one. Sigh.
And then... paper and pencils? She nodded. Fireproof footwear and stuff? She nodded. Yes, she had everything, EXCEPT for a place to sit. Knowing that she'll get dirt on her robes anyway, the girl made herself comfortable on the ground, praying that no bugs would start crawling on her, because she was going to scream.
Then they had to draw. Alright.
Searching though her bag, Nora got out a piece of paper, her pencil, and a textbook to have something solid under the paper she was going to draw on. Her drawing skills were like a three year old kid's, but she still enjoyed it. Hehe.

Jory took the steps backwards as the Professor had directed. After adjusting himself comfortably on the floor, he listened to the other instructions.
"Ah...drawing,'' the boy thought. He was rather terrible at the thing. Jory rummaged through his bag and pulled out his pencils and a file full of sketching paper.
Derrick listened to The Professors directions and Stepped backwards from the Heat and Fire.He decided to sit on the ground hoping there wasn't something Dangerous under him but he took the risk anyway.
He listened to everything that Professor Williamson was saying and pulled out his pens and paper and looked up at the Professor and looked at the type of egg.It wasn't very clear but he had to try his best anyway. He began to draw the Egg and the Cauldron. It wasn't very accurate but who cou;d draw great anyway?
Kennedy's eyes were solely focused on the egg, a load of dragon breeds going through his mind. Could it be a Hungarian Horn Tail? A Green Welsh? A Ukrainian Ironbelly? Was it even a dragon? He liked to think it was. He almost wanted to go and get a better look at the egg when Professor Williamson asked them to step back. Kennedy bottom lip stuck out in a small pout. He didn't want to step away, he wanted to get closer...but did as he was told.
He shifted his attention back on the professor and nodded both times the older students got LOOKS. The Prefect also listened to the instructions closely.
They were going to draw?
Okay. That was fun. After the instructions were given he sat down Indian style and took out a piece of parchment, a pencil and a few color pencils. Kennedy's eyebrows furrowed in concentration while he bit his lip unconsciously. He drew the outline of what he saw and shaded a few areas using his finger to make it smudge in the right places. Then, using a red, orange and yellow color pencil he highlighted what would be the fire.
His finished piece was the sketch of what he what he saw, although, it wasn't professional it still turned out pretty cool.

Xing is about to take a closer look into the cauldron when Professor Williamson tells them to step back. He sighs in disappointment, but does as told by the teacher. Although his gaze is still fix at the cauldron. Is that what he thinks it is? If he gets a glimpse of it one more time, Xing will definitely be certain of it! How did Williamson got his hand on one of those anyways? It's not something you can find in your everyday shop.
No seats? Do they have to stand all night? Xing doesn't want his robes to get dirty again. How in the world do they draw while standing? Oh, right... Just sit on the ground. Not in a chance! Xing pulls out a thin sketchpad and a muggle wooden pencil from his sling bag before he crouches, positioning the sketchpad on his laps as he starts drawing. Several minutes later, he finishes off the drawing with his signature which takes form of a Chinese character. He then pulls his hand away from the sketchpad and puts the pencil behind his ear. Drawing isn't his thing, but from the smile on Xing's face, he looks rather satisfied with the result.

Johnathan sat down next to his buddy Kennedy, after the directions where given. He was observing the egg that was inside the cauldron, it was something that truly amazed the young lion. His brain was just going off on different images of what could possibly be in there: a dragon? a goblin? a weird looking specimen of life?
When they were directed to draw, John's mind just went wild! Drawing, seriously?! That was something he wasn't all that great at, but enjoyed doing. He placed his paper sideways, as it was much easier for him to work with since he was left-handed. He began with a simple sketch then as he scanned the egg in the cauldron a lot more, the drawing was becoming widely elaborate. He placed a color pencil, behind his ear and just went to town with this assignment!

Okay, first thing first. The BIG steps backward.
Still mesmerized by the large egg on the cauldron, Beezus did as they were told, stepping backwards with haste until her back bumped on someone. She glanced behind her, said a short apology and quickly turned her head to stare at the object once more.
Maybe she was hypnotized, bewitched, overly fascinated or whatever with the egg that she didn't utter a single word from the start of the lesson (except when she apologized to Xing where she said, "Sorry."). Instead, just giving a nod to everything Professor Williamson was saying.
Yes, yes. She brought paper and dragonhide gloves, fireproof stuff, her wand but not a bucket of water, unfortunately. They were all inside her backpack which she currently was taking off and putting on the ground, as she herself slumped down too.
They were to draw the egg, she heard the Professor say. Blinking at him, she nodded absently and once again averted her gaze to the egg, Professor Williamson's voice droning on monotonously. It took her a few minutes before she had actually realized she should get started on drawing. When she finally did, she took out her paper and pencil, placed it on her lap, reached out for her wand, did the Lumos charm, and slipped it above her ear.
Soon..she was sketching out the fireplace, the cauldron, and of course, the egg.
SPOILER!!: ze drawing
Once she was done, the Ravenclaw settled her drawing on her bag which lay beside her, putting the pencil and her wand above it. Lost in the egg's charm, she was back to gawking at it...again.

Alyssa took her time drawing. She could barely see in the dark and was grateful that the flames from the fire helped provide at least some light. She looked at the object before her and then down at the paper, drawing what she saw and then she looked back up again. She changed coloring pencils, orange, red and yellow for the flames, black for the cauldron as she drew in the objects.
As she concentrated, her tongue snuck out from the corner of her and she moved it from side to side along the corner of her upper lip...a bad habit which she somehow hadn't outgrown. Once she was done drawing, she realized what her tongue was doing and quickly pulled it back into her mouth. She looked at her drawing and laughed. She definitely would not be getting an A in drawing.
SPOILER!!: Was never good at graphics
She then kept up her coloring pencils and while waiting for the Professor to comment on it, watched the beautiful egg before her, mesmerized by it's beauty and waiting impatiently to see what it would reveal.

YAY! Their first assignment was to draw! Blue LOVED drawing even though she was pretty rubbish at it!!! Beaming at the professor (he was officially one of her favourites now!!!) she unzipped her bag, pulling out her 1. wand 2. a piece of parchment 3. a pencil 4. a book to lean on, so that her pencil wouldn't rip the parchment and 5. a box of colouring pencils...She always had them with her, ya know. ...Just in case of an emergency...A colouring emergency. O_O
Blue set her wand down, deciding that maybe it was best let the oldies light up the place in case Blue like, caused the place to explode and then everyone's drawings would be ruined!! And that would be sooooo tragic. Okay. All she had to do was draw an egg ('a chicken egg, maaaaybe? But it was a funny colour and this was magical creatures...not regular boring farming animal creatures...that would make the class CoRBFC,' Blue thought with a giggle) in a cauldron on fire. But the egg might get burned!
And what if they were suppose to eat said egg...like to give them protein so that they can go off into the MAGICAL mountains to fight DRAGONS. Humming lightly, she started to draw, her tongue poking out in CONSENTRATION. She was taking this assignment VERY seriously. Ya' know, 'cause it was an awesome assingment.
When she finished colouring in the tree and the sun in her picture, Blue BEAMED with pride. What an awesome picture it was. Professor Williamson would surely love it. I mean, Blue had drawn him in it. ...Because he was officially one of her FAVOURITE professors. She held it out, still beaming with pride.
SPOILER!!: I can do a lot better but Blue can't draw and she's 11 XD

Brooke looked down at her shoes, uhhh. They had to be fireproof didnt they ? weren't ALL shoes ? uh no she was going to go with the likely hood that they were fireproof even though they werent. but she had a pencil and paper! Yay! Now she felt organized.
Drawing! YAY! A biiiiiggg smile appeared on the young girl's face. She'd always liked to think of herself as quite an amazing drawing; which she wasnt. But the girl dreamt about these things and so far no one had the heart to tell her she was possibly the worst drawer this earth had every seen, give or take a few other people she probably hadn't met. Brooke liked this class, it was decided. She liked eggs because they were all cute and stuffs and she quite liked fire- as long as it didn't burn her.
SPOILER!!: Brooke's art skills are limited D: i apologise.
Lots of points now please ?

They had to draw something? Indy just stared for a few minutes getting a little dazed by the pretty fire. Now...Indy wasn't the best at drawing. She was pretty lame. So a drawing assignment was really not the best thing in the world for her. This could work out quite interesting. After a few second she pulled herself away from dazing into the fire, although it was really pretty and she would like to do that for the rest of the lesson, and figured that she should probably start drawing. Hmm hmmm. Drawing drawing. She still didn't think she was good at this. Couldn't they like roast marshmellows or something? She loved marshmellows. They were nommy.
Laa deee. Coloring in. Hmm. Orange flames. And red ones, and yellow ones. Dee dee. Egg. Hmm. We'll make that green. No idea why green, but we've started to like green lately. Dee dee. But a couple of labels on because we're lame at drawing so people probably won't know what we've drawn. Oooh. Finished. Well done Indy. Five hundred million thousand trilllion points to ravenclaw please.
SPOILER!!: most awesomeset drawing ever

DRAWING?
Err.. The blonde guy was never good in fine arts, especially drawing. But now, the young Professor asked them to... draw? Sigh.. Okay. He took a piece of paper and a muggle pencil from hig bag and started drawing.
Okay.
Gary was not an artistic person, and he admitted that his drawinf now was not good. Well, you could say that his drawing was bad. But better than he didn't draw anything right?
SPOILER!!: bad drawing *whistle*

Hopping up from where she'd flopped down, Emmanuelle took a few giant steps back. When Professor Williamson finally motioned for them to sit, she did and began checking to see if she had everything. Fireproof gloves? Check. Fireproof shoes? Uh, did they even make those? Even if they did, she was pretty sure that hers were not. Unless leather was suddenly fireproof or something. Deciding that there was nothing she could do about it now, she listened to the rest of what the professor had to say.
Draw what they saw in front of them? Eek! She wasn't so good with the drawing. Pulling a spare bit of parchment out of her bag, along with a quill, she lit her wand. Sticking it between her teeth so that she would have both hands free, she drew. When she was finished she put it to the side until the professor asked to see it.

Zhenya took a couple of steps backwards and sat down. She pulled out some Parchment and her coloured ink and started to draw the egg, whatever it was. Once she had finished she looked at it and shrugged - it was the best she could do! She tried to be a bit creative with it but she wasn't very good at drawing. And besides... she didn't have all her amazing art supplies with her! They were at home. All of them.

Laura stared at the Professor, she was a second year, drawing was for children and saying that she wasn't very good at drawing and she didn't want to make a fool of herself maybe the Professor would let her off. "Professor I ain't good at drawing."
Drawing, seriously people? It was a piece of cake even if she wasn't that good at it it still was fun. What did it have to do with with the care of creatures? Nothing much. Professor Williamson now became her favourite professor. He was epic like her.
She started sketching away. It didn't look good but she didn't care about that. Just hopefully her stars and writing would pass instead of her drawing. Her drawing so far was cool as! It was just writing of her name though. Once she finished her pot she got out her coloured pencils and started decorating it and making it look cool. She put multi-coloured stars on it and she thought it looked awesome.

Gideon worked quietly at the his egg drawing, glancing up every so often to look at the subject they were in fact to draw...as well as his fellow younger students the professor had seemed to want the rest of them to look after. Not that he said anything directly but seeing as the man had gone out of sight it was rather implied, prefect or no, by the look given before hand and the logic of safety. Eventually he had a sketch he was satisfied with, setting aside his quill to leave his finished project be. His attention drifting fully back to his surroundings now that he wasn't drawing any longer.
SPOILER!!: Gideon's drawing

Nerida smiled drawing that was easy she had been drawing since she could remember, where they good drawings, maybe...Maybe not... She did Lumos and looked around her trees, fround, moon, fire, awesome intresting egg, cauldron, Nerida...Yeap this would be fun to draw, she looked around and took out her muggle color crayons, for useful and lovely things she began to draw her picture looking up every so often to get a glance at what she was drawing....
When she was done she looked at her final work and thought it looked pretty good for having nothing to really draw on and limited light. She wrote her name on her artwork and waited for further directions.
SPOILER!!: I draws it and then add text on the computer ;)

Oliver managed to slip quietly into the barn just as William slipped out the other side which caused him to raise his eyebrows. So was the class still going? He'd received an invitation to come down to the barn and now his friend had left.
He lent up against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. Well he was here now, rather reluctantly, he may as well stay and watch the event unfold.
Glancing down at the students seated in front of him, Oliver peeked at some of their drawings. Merlin! Some of these kids could do with some art lessons. Well there was one young girl's (Nerida) which looked pretty good. "I like your picture." he told her in a whisper. He didn't know if that smile on her face was still going to be there later though. But he didn't say that.
Draw? She couldn't draw. Professooooooor! Anything but DRAWING. That sucked. But Lilly grabbed a piece of paper and began to scribble the scene in front of her. She was getting more used to sitting on the floor, now. Where was that stupid red pencil? Her bricks didn't look like bricks because they were exactly below each other, a little wonky. Her students were stick people because she wasn't Violet, the best artist of all time. She wasn't even sure that her twin was actually at Hogwarts. The egg didn't look like an egg because...it didn't.
SPOILER!!: Neither me nor Lilly can draw
