An area in the middle of the library has been cleared of bookshelves and other equipment to make room for a big round circle of bean bags in all colours of the rainbow. One bean bag which is bigger than the others and bright orange is Mr Kitridge, the schools librarian sitting on with a small note book in his lap. For the afternoon meeting he is dressed in dark red robes.
In the middle of the circle of bean bags there is a stack of writing cards and a giant sized bowl full of candy. The candy has only been brought to the meeting because Mr Kitridge wants to give everyone a treat. Any food or drink found in the library at other hours/occasions will be thrown out and the student/s will be punished.
Go ahead and take a seat on a bean bag of your choosing and help yourself to a candy treat as you make yourself a name card while you wait for the meeting to start!
OCC: The meeting will begin in around 7 pm GMT tuesday night (May 8th). Don’t forget to bring your favourite childhood book! Keep chatting to a minimum! If you haven’t then please take time to familiarize yourself with the rules for the library.

And lo! Sarah spotted the Charms professor entering silently into the meeting, a contrast to what the muggle studies professor did. She couldn't help but feel excited about this meeting. What's gonna happen after this?
She gave a bow to the professor and said, "Hello professor" with a smiled.

Sooooo Baldie was hosting a book club, was he? Snicker. Willy had honestly expected the old Gryffindor to be hosting a hair styling party before he'd be hosting a book club, but well, the man WAS the school librarian....
Naturally William had to go check it out. He had someone watching his project in the barnyard and only had a short time to spare, but since he didn't read much or ever, he was really only going to swing by the book club and see if it was worth checking out.
Noticing that nearly everyone else had arrived early, William found an open beanbag chair and plopped right down, his bean bag rustling and groaning with the weight of a tall man. Heheh. It was almost like a farting sound! He loved it! Maybe he should get these things for Care of Magical Creatures.
Grinning over at the people nearest to him, Willy's eyebrows popped up into his hair as he checked them all out. Merlin, why were there so many GIRLS at this book club thing? Psh. Girls. And just look at all the female professors! If he didn't know any better, Willy would almost accuse Leo of being a playa! He was like a spider, catching fly ladies in his library web! Too bad Willy DID know better. If Leobald was a lady killer than William was the Prince of England.
Strange, though; was that a spot of drool on Callie's chin? Perhaps the librarian had more charm than he'd thought.

As always, Ness was barely aware of what was going on. She had been sitting on a purple bean bag and not really focused on what was going on. It wasn't that she hated books, she loved them. She wouldn't have been here otherwise. It was that she was tired, no exhausted and she could barely even think straight.
In her hand, she held her favorite childhood book, it was Peter Rabbit, one of the best stories ever, or at least she thought so. The red head couldn't wait to talk all about it, but before she could even write herself a name tag her eyes began to close and she drifted off to sleep.
Too bad for her...
Well here was one that wasn't drooling, at least not consciously, because even though the book club had barely started, she was already sound asleep. Pulling his old, thick book of choice out from under his arm, William dropped the heavy tome right at the feet of one Ms. Dixon, enjoying the loud THUD it made.
"WAKE UP," he whispered at her loudly as he bent forward to pick up the book. "NO SLEEPING IN CLASS."
Finding this funny, William settled back into his green bean bag chair and tapped his fingers on his book, waiting for his turn to introduce himself and his favorite story ever. Granted, it was one of the few he'd read ever, but it was still the best. In fact, it was so good that he hadn't picked another book up since finding it in his victory lap year at uni.
One didn't have to be an avid reader to be in a book club, did they?

There was a beautiful room filled with shelves of books and books and by the left wall there was a comfy looking, purple couch with a red head, princess snoring away in her sleep. The room too was purple and so were most of the books. Everything seemed so peaceful in the room. It was all so perfect..maybe too perfect, except it was missing one thing. What though?
A few more seconds of the dream went by and then the door to the room opened. There apeared to be a handsome prince and he was riding on a purple unicorn. It all looked so esquiset. The handsome prince got off he's unicorn and walked over to where the princess was still fast asleep. He then leaned in forward, when BOOM! Somethingand and everything blackened out...
Blinking, Nessie began opening her eyes to realize everything she had just seen was all a dream. How sad, it was sweet and purple! :O If only things like that could happen in reality.
Maybe they could...
Standing right in front of Nessie, was Mr Williamson and when she realized it was him, she automatically started blushing. "I..I'm..ss..sor..sorry Pr..prince Williamson." she said as she sat up straight. It then hit her..she had just called him prince. Oh great! >__< This was highly embarassing. She could have easily fixed it up with a few simple words, but she was scared to talk again.
So instead she just sat there clinging onto her book, looking like a red tomato...
Gemma walked slowly into the room. She was excited about the Book Club and hoped Leobald wouldn't mind that she was attending. Seeing that the meeting had already started, she stood to the side as everyone introduced themselves and their book and once there was a lull in the introductions, she smiled and spoke up.
"Hello everyone...Gemma Cerulean...Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein.... She said with a smile. After she spoke, she spotted a lovely looking purple bean bag and hurried over to it plopping down and curling her legs up close to her making herself comfy.

As Professor Elwood stared at Mr. Kitridge listened to the students talk about their books and soaked up what was the book club here in the Library, she was excited to see two other lady Professors enter the circle, well at least the first one. Calista grinned and waved happily to Gemma, the Muggle Studies teacher she had met at the Feast, and mouthed a hello to her.
The second woman was Miss MannersMRS. Bellaire. It was ridiculous that she expected her, a collgegue and equal to call her that. What a load of--
A small wave to her as well.

Just as she had gotten back to listening to the kids' book descriptions again, another Professor entered the Library.
William. Cue the eye rolling.
Calista watched him with a blank face as he made his way into the room, sat down ubnoxiously loud in his bean bag chair, became amused with the sound and then looked at her? What was she supposed to laugh too? Nope. She just gave him a little wave, they were sort of friends after all, and then went back to listening.
Untill there was a loud bang, which caught her attention. It seemed as if he dropped his book to...wake up a sleeping kid? What in Merlin's Beard had they come for? Wasn't there at least one thing to keep you awake in here, one of the only reasons she had even come? Seriously dear girl.

Nerida waved hi to the two Professors that had entered not wanting to disrupt any one that could have been talking. It was really cool, that Professors were here! And then came Professor Williamson, yikes! Poor girl! Did she call him Prince?? When she looked towards the other Professors in the room, she realized she had forgotten to say hello to her now favorite professor, Professor Elwood, after the first lesson she had broghten Divination to a whole new light for her!

Dash had heard through the whispers of the halls, (a student telling another, who had learned from another, who had learned from another who claimed that they weren't going because the library was a forbidden place of studying) that the new Professor was having a book club. His feelings about Leobald were mutual...enough....the man had attended school with him, but was a Gryffindor. Still, Dash was curious, and even brought his own book tucked under his arm.
He was late, but that was okay.
Slipping into the library he took note first of the unnecessary set up. Really, when were bean bag chairs ever useful? The guy who invented them had probably been embarrassed to admit it. If he wanted to sit on something that felt like sitting on a giant marshmallow, he'd conjure a giant marshmallow.
The second thing Scabior took notice of was large number of staff members. Two new ones. William. And girls. Merlin, this was bound to be more interesting than he thought. And if it wasn't it seemed like an okay place for a nap.
Spotting, William- or rather hearing him, Dash forced himself into the beanbag chair beside him.
He was right. It was stupid.
"Hey." He tried to nudge William in the side with his arm, but the other man was engulfed by the chair. A tasty WWW meal for the beanbag.

Yeah she knew a forced wave when she saw one and that was a forced wave. Well then, she would get something less than that. The woman raised her eyebrows in acknowledgement but didn't let her eyes linger on the younger woman for too long.
Another professor had entered. She offered him a wave and continued listening to the children as they talked about their favourite books.

Williamson was caught between bursting out laughing and turning as red as Nessie. ERRRRRR. Had that girl seriously just called him Prince? He WAS good looking, this he knew, but he thought the students hadn't noticed too....
"Just try to stay awake, eh?" He went for a humble nod and wink toward the girl and scooted back into his beanbag chair, the noisy bag making even more noise now.

Oh Merlin, was he getting waved at now? Did EVERYONE think he was a Prince? Had the Hufflepuff propagated something against his knowledge?!
Well, as all royalty must, William waved back. Reluctantly. He was still hoping Callie had forgotten about the whole molting-wet-feather-dress incident....

Ella was a little surprised by the sudden appearance of professors...lots of professors. She smiled at several of them, fiddling with her hands in her lap. It was bad enough trying to make a good impression on these people in class and now she had to do it in book club too! Well at least this showed that they liked books, right? And that they didn't mind hanging around their students outside of class...though the second year was a bit scared surprised to see Professor Scabior.

Minerva couldn't believe all the professors that she was seeing. Why were they all here at a student function, well maybe it wasn't just a student function, but that gave them no right to be late.. Most of them did come late didn't they or did she just think they did. Well in any rate they should get professor points taken for being late. She smiled at herself thinking about being able to take points off of professors and just as she did the perfect one came in Professor Scabiors. She felt her eyes roll at seeing him. She couldn't help but give a little smirk at the thought of taking late points from him. She decided she better make her face look blank again and pay attention.

WHYYY were there professors here? And not even just one or two but fully half of the staff? Why weren't they doing their own adult book club thing? West was suspicious. He still hadn't shared his book and had no plans to. Not yet at least. Wasn't it supposed to be for them students?
"I thought this was a thing for kids." West commented. He frowned accusingly at the librarian, his expression was confused and the comment? Was actually pretty innocent. "Now people are gonna be too scared to say stuff about stuff." Not West, clearly.
All blame on the fisherlibrarian.
The first year Slytherin sat there, perfectly still, and probably would have got up and left if it wasn't for the fact that the beanbag? had half eaten him, and he couldn't move.

Oh no. Was it okay for Ronnie to be late?!
She hoped so. 'Cause she really wanted to be here today, book clubs were fun! Even though she wasn't really much of a reader.
Well, she could be at times.
Ronnie quietly entered, her Tales of Beedle the Bard clutched against her chest. She plopped down onto a beanbag, and snatched a card and scribbled out her name:
Quote:
Ronnie Weasley
Fourth Year
Gryffindor
Oh. So they were talking about their books right now. Once it got a little quiet, she spoke up in her cheery voice. "This book is one you all probably have read." she began with a little chuckle. She held it up a little so everyone could see. "The Tales of Beedle the Bard." she said. "This is my favorite book because I really enjoy the stories in it -especially Babbity Rabbity and her Cackling Stump- and I grew up with my mum reading it to me almost every night. I really like the lessons they learn." she said, flashing a smile.
She spotted the candy and her eyes widened. Oh boy, candy! She pursed her lips to keep her from squealing with excitement, and popped a few into her mouth.

Alyssa didn't expect to see so many Professors show up for this book club meeting. But then again they were Professors so they must do a lot of reading too. Although she had to hold in a giggle. The Professors were misbehaving more than the students themselves.

So attending this little bookclub was not on her list of things to do. However... she wanted to see this new librarian in action, as well as selfishly spending more time with the students. As if she didn't see them enough already.
Sneaking into the library on tiptoes... because you had to be QUIET in libraries... Seren made her way over to where the beanbag group were. She distinctly remembered being kicked out of the library on numerous occasions as a student, usually for talking too loudly and socialising, but she did study...
Eventually it did result in her being banned from entering this part of the castle for the entirety of her final year. So unfair.
Now... beanbags!
Oh dear. Would there be one left for her?
YES!
Eyeing a plush beanbag, Seren PLOPPED herself onto it.. resulting in a low pppppffffffffff fluffy sound coming from the beanbag itself as the air escaped from beneath her bottom. Not her bottom literally! She was a lady, but the air in the beanbag had a mind of its own.
Hoping nobody witnessed her arrival and that she wouldn't be scolded for being late, or disrupting the peace or ... something else, Seren sat there, quietly, all grins whilst hugging one of her favourite books to her chest.

Minerva saw Professor Bentley come in, yet another professor. Not that Min cared if the professors were there she loved all...well most of the professors eyes Scabiors. She watched as Professor Bentley sat down in a bean bag this made her smile, it was something about adults trying to sit on bean bag chairs that always made Minerva smile, then she was close enough she heard the air come out of the bean bag. She knew it was the bean bag, but it made her giggle quietly anyway. The thoughts in her head that she wanted to say about a professor tooting, but she knew better. Her paranoid side would never say anything like that she could get into trouble.. that was not something she would do. She turned her attention back to the books.
The first year Ravenclaw was going to wave to the herbology Professor and then she heard the noise. That dreadful noise she didn't know whether to plug her nose or discretely act as though she was hugging her knees. Instead she decided to shift on her own beanbag chair and make the same noise.
What?
If the coolest Professor at school was going to get labeled as a public farter she was going to come to her aid and make the beanbag do it as well. Sliding around on the beanbag it finally made a soft and awkward pfffff sound along with an awkward ripping sound.
Oh Merlins Beard? Had her beanbag ripped?

Starring wide-eyed it all the professors and their antics, Emmanuelle had to wonder if this was NORMAL Hogwarts behavior. It was all so different from her old school in France. And she actually liked it. That was what shocked her the most. As used to the usual boring behavior of her old professors as she was, the behavior of these professors was refreshing. She couldn't help laughing when one professor threw his book at a sleeping girls feet. After all, book club wasn't a place for nappy time. And the noises coming from certain bean bags just made her laugh all the harder.

Keefer peered into the library. He didn't frequent it too often for studying purposes, but this new book club thing sounded cool. He entered quietly, because that's what you did in a library. Be quiet.
Hugging his chosen book to his chest, he spotted an open beanbag next to a small boy and headed over. Flopping down, he enjoyed the soft woosh as the air left the beanbag chair. What's with all the professors? he wondered, staring around. This felt like another class.
Leobald sat back on his orange bean bag for a moment and marveled over the big book treasure present in the room. Both students and professors alike had united in coming to the meeting and sharing their favourite books from their youth with the rest just like he had wanted.
Feeling his stomach surge and bubble Leo immediately regretted eating that liqourice wand which he had downed some minutes ago, hopefully he wouldn’t get nauseous. Praying, he cleared his throat to address the assembled book clubbers "A great book treasure is present here this afternoon in your hands with themes ranging from fantasy with wild worlds and magical creatures to adventure with deserted islands and heroines to name a few."
"So why do we read books and continue to read books as we get older?” He glanced briefly at the professors present in the room. “Is it for fun, enjoyment, knowledge or something entirely different, please share your views with us all.”
Downing some soar water that had surfaced in his throat Mr Kitridge continued. "When you’ve shared your views with the circle I want you all to find yourself a partner or two for the next sentiment of the meeting which will involve acting, please invite the professors to join your groups." The professors were there so they should be active too.
"I shall tell you all what you will re-enact when the groups have been formed."

Minerva thought about this question and put up her hand. "Well I think it's all of them. We read, because we enjoy it and we want entertainment, but we have to read some more boring books, well maybe boring to some because we have to learn whats inside of them. So as we get older, I don't feel that changes, just the reading style may change."
Minerva then looked around to see who might want to join her in a group. she looked at the professors in the room, could she actually ask one of them to be part of her group she wasn't sure. So instead she just looked at everyone "Does anyone want to work with me for this acting thing?"

Why did they read books? Well, several reasons, really. He looked around surreptitiously, wondering if he was supposed to raise his hand or not. This wasn't really a class, but there were so many professors... He settled for clearing his throat.
"Well, I usually read books for class. You know, text books and such." Duh. He was a NEWT-level student, after all. "But if it's not for school, I like to read for information. Like.. the Prophet of Which Broomstick are my two favorites." The Prophet just to keep up on the times. The other for.. well, he WAS the Quidditch Captain, after all.
Then he looked around. He was seated next to a small Slytherin. "Partner?" he asked, smiling kindly. But they were supposed to include professors as well? He gulped. He was a seventh year. Surely he should be brave enough to offer, right? Er... right. He cleared his throat again. "Er, Professor Williamson.. care to join our group?"
Ira had come to this book club purely for the sake of satisfying her curiosity.. She had never before participated in a book club meeting! In fact, she didn't even know that such a club existed in the first place!
Still here she was, with a book in her hands, on a multi-colored bean bag besides the other students. And oops, she was too near the professors. That was so not good! What if she got too bored and slept yawned wide? But it seemed like the other professors were feeling just like her.. maybe!
Anyways, Ira looked up as the new librarian began speaking.
Huh? A great treasure? Seriously? These fairy tales were treasure? Ira barely resisted herself from rolling her eyes. Because her opinion was completely different..
Why do we read books? Why did she read books? Ira pondered about it.. Well, she just read them because she needed to pass the exams. And that was it. Really! Ira wasn't a huge fan of reading or the pleasure of reading. So should she reply to Mr Leobald's question with her own view? Ira decided that she rather not. That would be better, right?
Butr Keefer had answered something similar to her. So Ira spoke too, "Well.. I mostly read because I HAVE to read.." Meaning she had to pass an exam, right? "But I love reading current affairs magazines! Helps me to be up-to-date with all info.." Though that hadn't been too possible at Hogwarts.
But the fun part was about to come soon! They actually were gonna have an activity?!? Wow! Now this book club meeting looked better! So.. she needed a partner.. But who?
Pyrsephonie smiled at the librarian. He didn't look too good, but he seemed to be hiding it. Pyrsephonie wasn't going to say anything about it. "We continue to read because it is good for us," Pyrsephonie said. "It's good for our minds, as well as our souls." Her smile grew dreamy. "It keeps the mind sharp and keeps our souls happy."

Pyrsephonie looked over to the Slytherin girl who had spoken before her. She smiled kindly and asked, "Want to be partners?"
