Text Cut: Droo Sierra smirked as she listened to the conversation between Lafay and some panicking Puffer. Sierra had never seen him before, but who cared. He was a Puffer. Did he really need to be known? Her gaze traveled up to the plimpy being used as a demonstration. All these body parts. Did they really need to know what they were used for? The plimpies were dead. None of those parts were of any use to them now. ...but it was important to know your ingredients, so Sierra assumed this was why they were learning what each part was called and what it was used for. "Maybe the eyes are used in a potion for vision," she said, raising her hand. "Like the Oculus Potion." |
It felt SO WEIRD to untangle those weird legs! Sophie did so really carefully and stared down at the plimpy she was working on. Eek! She looked up and listened carefully as professor Lafay explained things about the fish-frog. Interesting stuff! And Sophie was getting excited to see the inside of the creature! Sounded really gross, but fuuunnn!!! Right. There was a question now. Uummmm... theeeee... She had no idea, really. So she just kept looking to the plimpy while her classmates answered. She reached out a gloved finger... poke. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! She wrinkled her nose and grinned. Heh! |
Joćo didn't get half of the description due to his apparently weak English for this lesson, but he speculated on the part he understood well. He didn't know whether he was right, but he figured it was better to try. "Maybe the nostrils are also used to clarify or strengthen something, like a property of a potion." Because they picked the smells of food and thus they were being picky? |
Annabelle heard all her other classmates answers. "Professor i think i agree on that the plimpy's eyes can be used in potions such as fertilizers." Belle said as she raised her hand. |
Mentions of Louisa, JonJon, Kurumi and the Professor as well. :3 Jonathan. Lewis almost winced when he heard Louisa actually say the name out loud. It was like she wanted to rub it in or something. Yes, he was Only why did he still want to throw one of the Plimpy's legs at Jonathan?! Hearing her chuckle made him turn in his seat again to narrow his eyes at the Ravenclaw next to him. "What's so funny?" Did she think the two sitting next to each other was laughable or something? Because it wasn't. Like, at all. Before he focused on the creature in front of him he glanced back over at the other desk just in time to catch Jonathan's smirk. And while he wasn't exactly any good at ready facial expressions, this one was very clear. The Slytherin did seem to enjoy this. For whatever reason. Once he was done untangling the Plimpy's legs, Lewis reached for his wand to clean his hands before reaching for his quill. Right, maybe he should have worn the gloves - like Louisa. FOCUS LEWIS! Noting what he'd done so far - which wasn't a lot - on his notebook, the Hufflepuff turned his attention back to the front. Not without allowing his eyes to rest on Kurumi and Jonathan again for a Quote:
See, there. It doesn't get much deader. The way the boy had worded his reply confused him a little as well. He had...thanked him? Yes? Had he? Or not? HUH!? --- But back to Professor Lafay. She made a lot more sense than this Hufflepuff guy Sort of making a rough sketch of a Plimpy, he labeled the parts according to what the professor was telling them. Right. In case they would need it later. Scratching his chin with the end of his quill, Lewis cocked his head slightly to the side as he stared down at the Plimpy in front of him, thinking about Professor Lafay's question. What other parts could be used in which potions and why? Since most of the other students had already said the obvious one - Plimpy eyes for fertilizer - he didn't really want to say that as well. Hmm. He had never worked with Plimpies before - except for their eyes - so he wasn't entirely sure. Hesitantly, Lewis raised his hand and started to reply, "Maybe the legs could be used in some sort of strength po-" Only he just stopped talking right in the middle of his sentence for no apparent reason. His body had completely stopped moving, one hand still in the air, his gaze still straight ahead on the professor and his mouth still hanging open slightly as if somebody had cast a stunning spell on him right in the middle of his word. "LEWIS?" |
Lewis, Louisa and Lafay... triple L, yo... *salutes* Sweet holy hippogriff, that was loud. Having been absent-mindedly doodling on his parchment as he listened to the answers, Dale suddenly heard someone talk... you know... loudly. He winced as the sound echoed around the walls and found the speaker at once. Dale opened his mind to, like, you know... complain, and then he saw someone he vaguely recognised as being his prefect. Dale blinked. Was that just his thinking face orrrrr...? "Um..." Dale called out, hoping that maybe this was just a normal thing and he was being silly and that girl who shouted was just playing. "Is that meant to happen?" Dale leaned a leeeeettle closer to the pair from where he sat, poised precariously on two legs... "Dude?" |
plus Lewis, Louisa and Dale SPOILER!!: Elijah and Professah His eyes drew slowly towards the Hufflepuff when he was being THANKED for killing off the poor, helpless, already-very-dead Plimpy, shaking his head in silent protest and mortified at the thought that he had done anything to make it deader than it already was. But as the Professor drew near them again and looked to be wanting to take a bite out out his Potions partner Vickers shrank to his own side of the table and focused at his own, just-as-dead-as-the-others Plimpy. As the lecture started he shuffled through his parchment and began scribbling, trying to get his mind to focus objectively at the task at hand. Which was no easy feat given the carcass on the tray in front of him. He wanted to bury it, although there was a part of him that was juuuust a bit curious at how the insides of a Plimpy were all connected together. The Professor asked a question, and heard the first thought of it being used as fertiliser being suggested. Just then he heard Elijah whisper about SPEWING. Again, his eyes slid slowly to towards the Hufflepuff and with an audible gulp whispered back "Sure, I'll keep your hair from getting into your own spew." Now whether Vickers can keep that curly head out of his own sympathetic spewing is another matter altogether. Thinking and talking about spewing is making his own stomach doing flip flops. Hand shoots up in the air "Professor, would the fins be used with potions that help with motion sickness?" because he could really use some right about now. And now there was a commotion about Lewis. Well around him rather, since Lewis himself has gone catatonic and Louisa looking to be at a verge of panic. He spotted the other Hufflepuff boy (Dale) peering closer to them. Lewis being all unmoving. Like their Plimpies. This was something contagious innit? Cue hiding his his nose behind his sleeves and scraping his seat AWAY from Lewis, the Plimpies and just everybody in general. |
SPOILER!!: professahhh! When Kurumi took the gloves that he offered, Jonathan stared at her and both their fingers... hands, touched. His eyes shifted back and forth o his hand and to Kurumi but he didn't react. Not that he had a lot of facial expressions to show right now. As soon as they were both done with their first procedure, Jonathan saw Kurumi touching the plimpy or whatever it is that she is trying to do. If she was scared, she could just say so. Professor Lafay wasn't really forcing them to do the activity if it makes them really uncomfortable. Still, that was Kurumi's decision. Jonathan's head snapped back to the front when the professor showed them a drawing with the external anatomy of the plimpy. It looked really weird, the plimply. The drawing was very well down. Jonathan took his quill this time and wrote on the blank page of his journal. SPOILER!!: Notes! Jonathan no longer bothered looking at Lewis because for one, he doesn't really like him so why would he bother doing that. Besides, he's the one who came in with no more seats left, it's not the kitchens is that far away from the dungeons. And now he acts like Jonathan has something to do with this whole seating plan? Pffffft. News flash, Rasting. Jonathan has been seating in his own area even from before you enrolled at Hogwarts. On to the point, Jonathan was sure ready to write down the next procedure on his journal but alas, she asked a question instead of the next step. Nares... what other potions have this and why? Jonathan can't seem to remember anything about nares. He remembers fangs and other stuffs right now but not nares. Jonathan seems to hear people shouting out different answers but he just sat there and shrugged. He's not really and entirely sure if they're used for fertilizer? Really? Maybe they're correct--- but maybe not? Jonathan still hold the quill on his parchment, he'll continue writing when the professor mentions them about the nares later. Then suddenly, Louisa was panicking about someone not moving. When Jonathan looked to their direction... it was Lewis that was not moving. WHOAH! Does this mean, there are something in this plimpies? What else could be the possible reason for his sudden freeze in the middle of the class. Jonathan looked at the plimpies, wait! Could these things do such things? Odd. So why was he in an immobilized mode? |
SPOILER!!: Part One So...it's dead... Well, that certainly changed things. Moving a bit closer to the tied up plimpy, Dylan slowly pulled out his dragonhide gloves. He could deal with dead...As long as the thing wasn't...thrashing around and trying to injure him. She was asking if anyone wanted to leave. Looking around, the Slytherin noticed some of the expressions on his classmates faces. They looked...appalled that the creatures in front of them were dead. What did they expect? For them to still be alive so they'd have to kill them? Dylan most definitely would of had NO part of that, mind you... SPOILER!!: Part Two Who was that making all that noise? Dylan glanced around until finding the source of the ridiculously loud sounds...The kid was freaking out and Professor Lafay was whispering something...Really, with Lafay it could have been anything. Not sparing it to much extra attention, he turned back to his creature corpse. Funny how he was more okay in dealing with a corpse than a living thing. Meh, he'd think about that later...Now...it was time to LEARN...Yep, Indy's Ravenclaw-ness was rubbing off on him...Dylan decided would think about that later, too. For now, Professor Lafay was levitating her own plimpy up...and making words appear. It was all very impressive. A very nice way to present something...Taking notes, he figured he could sketch this later...when they had a few minutes...Or maybe tonight when the lesson was done... After some writing and observation of the thing, he moved to untangle the thing's legs. He was moving a bit slower than usual...trying to make sure not to break or snap anything. They looked pretty thin...It probably wouldn't have taken much force to do real damage... Ten minutes later...the Slytherin had successfully untied the legs...and was looking to the Professor for further instruction. Of course, she was describing stuff...He'd missed the first part...Erm... "I'm guessing..." Dylan tried to come up with something that would make sense. "...that they could be used for skin products...To make it look healthier." Well, it made sense to him. His mother used some off the wall stuff on her face and body to make her skin glow. WHY NOT fishy parts? |
I am gonna change up my response order a bit *whistles* SPOILER!!: Lewwwwwissss. Part Un. Elijah probably should act a lot kinder to his prefects, he knew that, but this Huffle one was being equally nasty to Elijah. Shouldn't they be being bros? Being from the same house and stuff? Either way, Elijah did not appreciate his tone and the prefect had simply responded to his previous argument by informing him that the plimpy was dead, stating the obvious once more. "I've gathered that by now," he grumbled and left it at that. Getting into fights with people in positions of power was not smart and not attractive. SPOILER!!: True Bro. Elijah couldn't help but notice that Vickers looked likely to puke almost as much as him, but his heart felt warmed when the boy had agreed to hold back his hair for him. "Really?" he whispered back, not entirely surprised because no one would pass up the opportunity to get to touch his hair, "That is super kind of you, man. Ya know Vickers, you are a bro. I respect you." He'd respect him more if he dissected his plimpy for him, though... "I'd hold your hair too..." he added as an after thought, "Just so you know." SPOILER!!: Lewwwwwissss. Part Deux. Things in class had running somewhat normally until another commotion began, and this time Elijah hadn't been the instigator of it! Turning his head round to where he had heard the girl yell, he saw it was the one who was sitting next to Mr. Grumpy who appeared to be Mr. Frozen. Like, he wasn't moving at all. What gives? Part of him was gutted that he couldn't claim credit for having shut the guy up, but the other part of him truly hoped he wasn't really hurt... Concern for his fellow men = attractive quality. "Hey... hey, Vickers, are you seeing this?" he turned to face his parter and bro-in-crime (crime being murdering plimpies), but saw that the Ravenclaw had started shimmying away. "Hey! Where are you headed?" if you listened REAL close you may have heard a small note of panic in his voice. Vickers had kept him sane thus far during the lesson, he couldn't bail out on him now! Especially since people were starting to freeze up! He hoped to Merlin it wasn't something to do with these bloomin' plimpies. He shoulda left when he had been given the chance. |

Lafay and Jonathan and OMG LEWIS *cue Kurumi panic face* The glances that Jonathan had given had not gone unnoticed by Kurumi who had bitten down a bit harder on her lip and turned her head away almost immediately. Maybe she should have just used the excuse of feeling queasy about what they were doing today and leave the classroom. It was too late now, at least she assumed as much, as she had made the decision to stay. Not looking at Jonathan, or anywhere else other than the top of the table, Kurumi listened as the class continued Had...Dragon Lady really just suggested that she use the Killing Curse on a student. Kurumi's jaw dropped and her hand gripped the table nervously. She was...joking, right? Then again, the woman seemed very...moody today. More so than usual, which was rather concerning to the Gryffindor. When the image appeared, Kurumi attempted to draw a simplified version of it on her parchment - along with the appropriate notes - and set her quill down when the next question was posed. Kurumi's eyes flicked towards the dead plimpy again and the sixth year remained quiet in her seat, choosing to instead write down what her classmates were suggesting and to wait for further elaboration from Professor Lafay. That was...until she heard Lewis' voice. Kurumi's head instantly looked up and her gaze turned to his as he spoke...only to see that he never finished his sentence and had frozen. Kurumi felt her chest constrict and her breath caught in her throat. Things only became worse with Louisa's announcement and all Kurumi wanted to do was jump out of her seat and run over to Lewis. Why was he frozen like that? Was he alright? Was he breathing? "Lewis..." Kurumi gasped softly, her eyes not leaving him as she continued to search for some sign that he was alright. |
Grayson began copying the diagram and the labels on the board. He knew he'd seen and read about it somewhere. He listened as he mentally prepared to start slicing and harvesting the dead creature. |

The more carefully she studied the plimpy, the DEAD plimpy, the more she knew she'd soon be sick. They weren't going to take out EVERY part of it, were they? Well, she didn't want to leave... but she wasn't sure her stomach was good enough to see... what they could possibly see during that class. As for professor Lafay's question... Nora had no idea. She didn't even want to think about plimpy eyes. Now that she thought about it, where did the professor get so many dead plimpies? Did she kill them all?! |
SPOILER!!: Eyes in fertilizer "Yes..." She said and looked for other answers. Quote:

"There is a bucket in the back for you to spew in, Master Wilde..." She said hearing the non whispered part, "there is a charm that blows your hair back, so Master Vanderbilt can" and this she said to the other boy, "Remain. In. His. Seat." He then turned back to the Hufflepuff and said "Seeing as you are not spewing at the moment, pay attention, and make an effort to answer my questions!" Quote:

... this did now seem self induced... She pointed her wand at the ground and sent a small jolt of electricity to the boy's feet. Enough to wake someone from sleep, but not enough to cause any sort of damage. "Did anyone do this to him? Some sort of prank? Come out now and your punishment won't be as severe if I have to test each and everyone of your wands..." |
Alyssa gulped. First Cedric in Divination Class and now Lewis in Potions class. Someone was definitely playing pranks on the students. The fact that she suspected that Professor Lafay was still upset with her for telling Professor Williamson that she was dragon-napping RoRo definitely didn't make her Professor Lafay's favorite student right now, and so she hoped that Professor Lafay didn't think that it was her who had played the prank. Alyssa just kept quiet, looked straight ahead and remained in her seat. |
Nate heard the professor yell. Gosh some people were right. She can be a little harsh sometimes. Then he saw the person froze. He looked around. He didn't want anyone to get in trouble because he was just to nice. Though they do deserve to get punished. He didn't know whether to say it was him so then someone wouldn't get in trouble or not. He decided that he would wait to see if someone would say that it was them. |
WUT!? Professor Lafay had been all I-demand-answers towards Sophie because she didn't know what to say?? So she was supposed to come up with any reply just so she would say something? Yeah, sure, and be snapped at for giving a stupid answer? No, thank you. And what was all of this commotion now? Sophie looked around confused. She was ready to continue poking the plimpy in front of her, but it seemed like Lewis had... frozen? o_O Was he alright?? When the Head of Slytherin House asked who had done that, Sophie sat still. She was afraid of moving to see her classmates reactions and being accused of having caused it. So she only moved her eyes, watching everything she could without turning her head around. |
Kennedy had been listening and taking notes when he heard a familiar voice which turned out to be Louisa. He tilted his head to the side and then his gaze shifted over to Lewis whom Louisa seem to be freaking out about. Why was he all...frozen? The Prefect turned his attention back to the professor. He hadn't done anything so there was nothing to fear there. He glanced back at Lewis. What's up dude? You're holding back the lesson. |
Jory looked around at Lewis who seemed to be frozen. "What was going on?'' he wondered. Who would do something like that? As Professor Lafay attempted to revive the student, Jory looked around at the other students. They all seemed shock as he was. Jory wondered if the person who did it would come forward... |
Angelina knew Lafay asked what potion it was used in, she truly didn't know. Sighing quietly to herself, Angelina looked down at her notebook and continued to take notes while Lafay continued talking to the other students. When she made comments Angelina continued to write and looked at the plimpy in front of her. All of a sudden Lafay sent a jolt of electricity to someone's feet, and than asked what happen to the boy. Looking up, Angelina narrowed her eyes and began to wonder what was going on. Keeping silent she looked around and found the sixth year boy Lewis frozen, not moving. Since Angelina didn't do anything at all to Lewis she kept quiet and looked around at the other students in class. How would do such a thing to him? |
the usual suspects :3 Kurumi winced noticeably when Professor Lafay sent some sort of spell shooting at Lewis' feet. The woman was testy now, as had been obvious by her snappish answers to students, and she was even more afraid for Lewis now. The desire to hop out of her seat and go to him was becoming more and more persistent and she nearly did. That is, until the woman demanded to know who had done this to him. Wait...someone had hexed Lewis? Kurumi's eyes slowly drifted away from Lewis and she turned her body slightly to glance over her shoulder at Jonathan. He wouldn't...would he? He had always told her that he could have a temper, but wasn't this a little extreme? Kurumi didn't want to believe it, but Jonathan did have reason to dislike Lewis. Slowly, Kurumi bit down on her lip and rubbed her arm absently as she looked back at Lewis. |
Mordred started to copy the illustration before them and also took down notes about the different uses of Plimpy parts. He was about to write down the sixth year’s answer when all of a sudden he stopped. He made a confused face as he eyed the ink that was ruining his parchment still waiting for the prefect to continue his answer. He then turned his head to where Lewis was. He wasn’t moving as if somebody petrified him. What was going on? Their head of house then sent a jolt of electricity in the hopes of reviving him. Who in the name of Merlin would dare pull a prank under Lafay’s nose? Whoever it was should start writing his last will. |
Woah, Professor Lafay seemed moodier than was usual. Had something happened to cause her to have a really bad day? She seemed really irritated when students gave an incorrect or incomplete answer. It just wasn't right to be this annoyed at something like that. After all, they were here to learn; students weren't expected to know all the answers. If they did then there would be no need to attend most classes. Silvia remained quiet, quill in hand and taking notes. She knew very little about plimpies, and definitely nothing about which parts were used in what potions. So she wasn't going to make a guess and draw more attention to herself, particularly not when the professor was like this. She was listening to the other students' answers and writing the ones down that Professor Lafay indicated were correct, when something strange happened. She was ready with quill poised to write more, when whoever it was who was speaking just stopped, mid-sentence. Silvia looked up from her notebook in the direction of the speaker where a sudden commotion seemed to be going on. The Hufflepuff prefect was...frozen. Huh? What was going on? And now Professor Lafay seemed to be in an even worse mood, if that were possible. Silvia looked around when the professor threatened to figure out who caused this mayhem, but it seemed to her as if everyone was just as surprised at the sudden change in the prefect's behavior as she was. Wait...didn't something like this happen in Divination as well? Didn't a student freeze then too? Maybe she should speak up and mention it? No, maybe not. Silvia had been at the other end of the room concentrating on her reading when it happened, so she wasn't entirely sure what had been going on. Lafay would only get mad at her if she decided to speak and wasn't helpful at all. One of the other students could mention it if they wanted to. But Silvia would remain quiet. |
