Anya smiled. "Thank you. I really hope I do... I'm... a bit nervous about all the new people." She glanced up and down the table again. Were there a lot of first years? That would make adjusting a bit easier... kids her own age.

"So... how long have you been here Tenn?"

Anya smiled brightly. "Really? I'm allowed to see him?" she asked bouncing excitedly. So... they could still fly kites and have picnics? That was the best bit of news she'd heard in awhile!

And she was about to go do that when Kurumi mentioned the Headmaster giving a speech. "Oh. Right. It would be rude to walk around during that." And she didn't want to get in trouble on her first day!

She giggled. "Golf balls? Really? Is that... normal?" The seeker was the one that chased the... gold ball, right? If didn't look at all like a golf ball... not that Anya had seen one up close... or at all. Those things were much too quick for her to keep track of.

She shuffled her feet a little. "He had fun here, right? I'll... be alright too... right?"

"Hi... I'm... Anya Phillips." Anya said introducing herself to the older boy. At least... everyone was nice here. That was a good thing.

Was she alright? Did she really look that bad?

"Yeah... I just... my best friend is over there... and I'm here..."

She cleared her throat. "Just... something I should get used to I suppose. Kurumi told me that we're still allowed to be friends... I was just hoping we'd be together."

And anyone else. ^_^
 

Alec gulped. He had to come here and do this. This was allowed wasn't it? People in other houses were allowed to visit each other and say hi. Really. He was just being friendly. Nothing major.

So the eleven year old continued to walk down the small empty space between the Hufflepuff and the Gryffindor tables with his hands in the pockets of his robes. Where was this girl? He needed to see that brunette!

And... then his eyes rested on a girl who had the same hair as Anya. Alec grinned. This was definitely her. Why she looked so moody though, he didn't know. "Cheer up, Phillips," he said, squeezing into a spot right next to the girl, "You're at Hogwarts now."

"I am happy, Summers." she said crossing her arms across her chest. "It's your fault you know. I don't know how many times I can stand saying good-bye to you."

She then hugged her friend again. "Congratulations. House of the just and loyal. That's my Alec for sure!"

Yup. She said her Alec. And everyone had better remember that. Especially Alec. They may be separated, but he was not getting rid of her.

Yeah the nervousness didn't seem to want to go away just yet. August remembered when he was that way last term--except he was thirteen and not eleven. heh.

"Oh well it's nice to meet you Anya. You know there's no need to be nervous everyone here, well at least at this table, are really excited to have you with us and are happy to help you with anything. Besides you are a three steps ahead of where i was at your age. I started here just last year as a third year." Yeah that was a bit crazy.

Oh so her friend was sorted into a different house? That was sad. "Oh don't worry, you will still see them all the time. I have plently of friends in other houses." Including his new girlfriend Taryn who he hadn't mentioned to Kurumi or any of his other school friends.

"What house were they sorted into?" he asked curiously as he took a sip of his pumpkin juice.

Alec blinked as Anya threw her arms around him. He was used to his best friend being all crazy but this was just a touch out of the ordinary. And what was this about her thinking about him? "Nice thoughts, i hope," he said, hugging the girl back.

"You didn't look happy before you saw me..." He had to throw that in there. Right. And now she was blaming him. He should have seen this coming. "Well... i didn't tell the Sorting Hat to place us in different houses, you know," Just in case she thought that he, Alec, wanted to say goodbye. "It's sad... but at least we're not going to different schools now." That would have been worse! Way worse.

And now she was hugging him again. Seriously. Girls and their hugs! "Thank you!" he said, hugging her back, "Congratulations to you too! House of the brave! That's definitely you, Anya." Kind of. She was brave for going up against him when they had their kite flying competitions.

Logan smiled shyly as she stepped back. Then she talked about them spending time together. He was very happy about that, any time spent with Jezz would be brilliant! "Yeah!" he said. "Sounds amazing!" he said. Then he sat next to her. "Favorite foods...hmm..." he said. "Do sweets count as a food?" he asked.

"Of course they count as a food," Jezz said laughing. "My favorite food isn't a sweet though. I love to eat anything Italian." Pizza's and pasta's. "But I also don't mind some fried chicken and mashed potatoes." She grabbed the cup and saw it was empty and frowned. Well this just won't do. "What sweet is your favorite sweet?"

As she looked around some more and to her dismay found nothing she decided to go into her pocket of wonders. She had ditched the chocolate frogs and in their place was bubble gum. She pulled out a piece and began to chew it. The mint flavor was her favorite. "You want a piece?" She offered on to Logan not sure if he liked gum or not.

Anya smiled weakly. "Thanks. Everyone has been really nice." She blinked. "You were new last term?" she asked. And he seemed to be just fine. Maybe she would be too. "Where were you before Hogwarts?"

That wasn't rude, was it?

"He's in the yellow house." she said pointing to the table with the badger over it. "And then I have another friend in the green one." But she wasn't as torn up about that. She figured they'd be in different houses... like their older siblings had been.

"Which ones are your friends in?"

Anya smiled at Alec. "Always. Well... usually." She was allowed to be mad at him from time to time. And she fully took advantage of that.

"Of course I wasn't happy!" Was he? She frowned. "Yeah..." she said slowly. Anya couldn't help but think it was somehow worse. They were now going to have to watch each other make new friends. Well... she'd have to watch him make new friends. She knew that nobody could ever replace Alec... or be as good as a friend to make her want to spend time with them instead of him.

Brave? She giggled a little as she played with the ends of her hair. "If you say so." she said. She didn't feel particularly brave. In fact, she didn't feel particularly anything.

"So. How do you like it over... there?" ...in yellow badger land.

"Then sweets are my favorite!" he said. "Italian food? Nice!" he said. "My favorite sweet?" he repeated thoughtfully. Hmm..."Gosh there's so many! Well, I like anything, really but Jelly Beans are my favorite. You?" he asked.

"Hmm? Oh yeah sure! Thanks!" he said, taking the piece and popping it in his mouth. He loved mint!

Jezz chewed her gum and thought it over for a little. There were so many, how could she choose. "Jelly beans are okay," she said giving him a small smirk, "But nothing can compare to the taste of chocolate." Any chocolate really. Dark, milk, the ones with nuts. All chocolate was good chocolate.

She looked around the great hall and admired they clear sky above them, "So what are you the most excited for? I mean we're finally here and I'm still excited that we're in the same house. Classes shouldn't take too long to start up, but out of all of it, what are you the most excited about?" She knew her answer but was going to wait on Logan's before she told him.

"Chocolate is amazing!" Logan said smiling and giving a small nod. He loved chocolate! But he liked Jelly Beans better....heh heh.

"Most excited about...well flying of course!" he said blushing a little. "And exploring Hogwarts. And seeing the common room!" he said. "And you?" he asked.

Jezz smiled, "I am most excited to get to know my friends better and meet new people." She wouldn't mind meeting a few of the Slytherin's either. "I'm big on talking to people about things. i'm bad at conversation but I love it." Always a contradiction she was.

Alec raised an eyebrow. Usually? What exactly did usually mean? But she had said always first so he was going to go with that. "Good good," he said. He didn't want any evil thoughts about him entering Anya's precious mind.

"You should be. We're at Hogwarts now!" He was practically BUZZING about that little fact. "Come on, cheer up. You know i hate seeing you upset." He did. It made him really uncomfortable! Especially when she started blaming him for everything. There was no way he was going to tell her that he believed her most of the time.

Alec shook his head slowly. "You're brave!" he said, "I don't think that... hat... is ever wrong." He was happier to have put that on his head than underwear. And if it said Anya was brave, then Anya was brave.

Over there... she was referring to the Hufflepuff table wasn't she? "It's good!" he said, glancing at the table before looking back at Anya, "Everyone's really friendly and welcoming! How are things here?" At the red end of the Great Hall.

"Awesome!" he said. "Aww, you're not bad at conversation! You're real fun to talk to!" Logan said grinning.

Maya was distracted from carefully examining the mole on her finger by a loud clap besides her as an older girl welcomed her to gryffindor. "Hi, thanks" she said shyly as the girl next to the other introduced them both. "I'm Maya," she replied hoping that she wouldn't forget their names. She had a feeling she would have a lot to learn over the nex few days, as well as learning her way to her classes and trying to remember what she was taught in them. It was just all so overwhelming.

"No," Maya replied to, was it Daisy's question? "It's just been a long day, there's so much to take in," she smiled, trying not to appear so nervous.

Just then another girl carrying a huge box introduced herself.

"Hey Kurumi," Maya said, startled that the girl had remembered her name. Everyone seemed so nice, that Maya found herself relaxing more and was less nervous when a fourth girl reached out her hand to welcome her.

Ariella, had been so cheery in her welcome that Maya couldn't fail to break out in a grin. "Hey Ariella, I'm Maya," she said shaking her hand. It was then that Maya realised just how hungry she was, she hadn't eaten since this morning, before she had gone to the station with her dad. Still speaking to Ariella she asked, "Do you know when the food will arrive, I'm starving!" she giggled.

It had been too long since she had a meal in the Great Hall, Ari realized. And she had missed this place even more than usual this past summer, given that she had spent two whole months in the Muggle world, for the first time in her life. Admittedly, some parts of her vacation had been fun, but no Muggle experience could beat magic. No way.

Taking a seat at an edge of her house table, unsure whether she wanted to take part in the loud discussions or save that for later, the girl suddenly felt different from the last time she had stood at this table. Older, somehow. Maybe this was what being a third year normally felt like. Whoa, a third year already?!? Time sure went by fast...

Nevertheless, Ariadne was too hungry, sleepy and happy to dwell too much on that.

Anya giggled at Alec's raised eyebrow. "Don't worry. They're almost always good thoughts." She didn't get mad at the boy very often. And when she did... he knew.

She smiled at his enthusiasm. He was right, wasn't he? She had 7 years with her best friend... instead of just 7 summers. "Fine. Fine. I will. If you promise kites and a picnic the first free day we have." And just for added measure she gave her puppy dog eyes. "You promise Blakey?"

As long as she could get away with calling him Blakey then she didn't really have to worry about their friendship.

She giggled at his next comment. "You just agreed with a hat, you know that?" Only at Hogwarts, right? She giggled once more. "Alright. I suppose I am then." Even if she didn't feel like it.

She eyed the yellow table. It was good over there? "It's red." she said looking back at her own. "Some of the older people have introduced themselves. I haven't met any of the ones in our year though."

Jezz blushed, "Well thanks." She finally found some pumpkin juice and poured some for herself. Oh she had been so thirsty. She took a nice big gulp and placed the cup down on the table. The blush had yet to fade from her cheeks.

"You're welcome." he said, watching as she drank her Pumpkin Juice. "Someone's thirsty!" he said teasingly as he took some himself. He hadn't tasted Pumpkin Juice yet.

Nikolas already was sitted in his table waiting for the food to arrive because he hadn't eaten in the train no candy for him he wanted real food. He glanced at the Great Hall entrance when he caught a glimpse of Jade, he got up and followed her to her table. It was the first time he was in the Gryffindor table, he looked at all the students talking and laughing and then there it was his girlriend.

He stood behind her when he heard the growling from her stomach, he couldn't help but to laugh "Someone is very hungry" he said before kissing her. Without asking he took a seat beside her, it was good to see her here since he was scared not to see her coming back to Hogwarts. "Glad to see you here, how you've been?" he asked her.

Jezz stuck her tongue at him and then laughed. "Well I was thirsty. I feel better now though." She poured her some more and left it sit there. Now she was going to savor the flavor. She wanted to rest her head but it was impolite to rest it on the table. So instead she just looked around her eyes drooping a little. She was an early to bed early to rise kind of person and the speech had yet to be made.

Logan laughed. "Good!" he said, taking a sip of his Pumpkin Juice. "Wow that's good!" he said smiling. He looked at Jezz who looked quite tired. "You look tired, Jezz." he said, putting an arm around her.

”Don’t worry,” Daisy said in a tone that meant she was being sarcastic. “They’ll be even more to overwhelm you tomorrow.” She winked at Maya and then turned her attention back to the sorting as a new Slytherin was called out.
Overhearing Maya, Daisy chuckled and leaned in towards Tenessee. “Can you see how many firsties are left? I hope they have chicken legs and some bangers…nothing like the Hogwart’s Elves bangers….” Speaking louder she said. “I hope soon, I’m really hungry. I missed the trolley on the train.”
