Jordan took a second to actually remember the 5 Cs before finishing off his notes. He picked up his quill and quickly jotted down everything necessary to the potion. SPOILER!!: Jordan's Notes He took out his wand, casting a scourgify on the cauldron instantly cleaning it. As he began to hum to himself, actually feeling content... Almost happy. Once he'd finished, he waited for further instructions from the professor. |
Raven quickly copied the ingredients of the potion to her notebook Text Cut: The journal Then, what is the first step? Raven took her cauldron and make sure it was clean enough. "Scourgify." After that, she pour some water to her cauldron. "Aguamenti." and she waited for the next step. |
Sophie heard carefully as Professor Lafay spoke and started giving instructions. She wrote everything down as quickly as she could. Text Cut: Notes Sophie was then about to fill her cauldron with water when she heard other students using some kind of spell to clean it up first. She had never used that spell, but she decided to try it out. Looking inside her cauldron, she pointed her wand at it. "Scourgify!" Sophie frowned as she didn't see any big differences in the cauldron. She wasn't sure if the spell hadn't worked or if her cauldron was already clean enough... or perhaps they weren't supposed to see the difference anyway. Oh well. She was still pointing her wand at her cauldron. "Aguamenti!" This spell she had already used a few times, so she was just fine with it. "Finite." There! She smiled and waited for the next instruction. |
SPOILER!!: Zhenya's notes Zhenya got all her potion supplies ready and wrote down the ingredients which had appeared on the board. Okay plus she needed to remember the 5 C's of potion making. Well she knew her cauldron had to be clean so she said "scourgify," to scrub it clean. when it was all nice and clean, she read the first instruction which was to fill the cauldron up with water. Well she hoped it was the first ingredient. "aguamenti," she said, and her cauldron filled up with water. |
Jezzabelle scribbled down all the things she could followed by the ingreidients. SPOILER!!: Jezz's Paper She pulled out her wand and though long and hard about what to do first. The 5 C's of potion making. Cleanliness. She gave a flick of her wand and said, "Scourgify". Her next step was to add water. With another flick of her wand she said, "Aguamenti." Okay water is checked off the list...what next? |
Jonathan took off his robes and put folded it, then put it onto his bag. The robes will get in the way, it might set on fire if you're to clumsy or you stay to close to fire. Not too good. Jonathan is always excited to brew something for potions class. What you learn theoretically, you produce it by brewing it. Fun stuff. Of course this is Lafay's class and what Lafay likes is cleanliness and organized in every step of brewing. That's why there's the 5Cs. Jonathan placed his cauldron on the table and took out his wand as well. He pointed the wand onto his cauldron "Scourgify" cleaning it. Before putting the water in, Jonathan decided to copy the ingredients on the board. This could be very helpful in the future. SPOILER!!: journal Okay, now time to fill up the cauldron with water. Again he pointed his wand inside the cauldron "Aguamenti" he uttered and saw water filling up the cauldron this time. Now to wait for Professor's further instructions. |
Basil and papaya? Now those were some interesting ingredients. Sky jotted down the ingredients then got to work setting up her cauldron. First, she cast a couple quick "Scourgify!" at it. Then she used the "Aguamenti!" spell to fill it with water. She was feeling pretty good, having actually remembered to clean her cauldron before filling it with water. |
As usual, Stella had stayed silent during most of Potions, simply listening to everything and deciding whethe ror not she thought this term was going to be a repeat of last term. At least the fact they weren't brewing a hate potion was a step in the right direction, even though she wasn't entirely certain how she would test an Antillergen potion when she had no allergies that she knew of. And she still didn't trust her potionmaking skills enough to ask Matt later if he had any allergies. Just because she passed her OWL hadn't convinced her that she couldn't still fail. As they were instructed to begin brewing, however, she shifted into motion. First step, making sure everything was clean. Her cauldron was already in front of her, so she leaned over to examine it closely before taking her wand out of its holster. "Scourgify," she cast, making sure to run her wand deliberately over every inch of the interior of her cauldron, as well as the outside just to be absolutely sure Professor Lafay wouldn't find anything wrong with her cauldron. She remembered last term, when several people's cauldrons had been overturned for not being clean, at least one of which fairly close to her own workstation, and she didn't want to inadvertently cause a repeat. And, once she was certain her cauldron was clean, she pointed her wand inside it once again. "Aguamenti," she cast then, letting the water that flowed from the tip of her wand slowly fill the cauldron, before ending the charm and turning to her notes. She didn't want to forget those. Glenn listened intently to the professor then reread a dozen times the ingredients when they appeared on the board. She was NOT going to mess this up. She scribbled the ingredients list in her journal then set about cleaning her cauldron, "Scourgify." Glenn said clearly, pointing her wand at her cauldron. The layer of dust whipped off it, leaving it sparkling clean. She was surprised how it had gotten so dirty over the summer. Now, to fill it with water, "Aguamenti!" Water jetted out of her wand and filled her cauldron. Now, what next. SPOILER!!: Glenn's Journal |
SPOILER!!: ze Prof Vickers smiled to himself, happy that he got one of the ingredients right. And given the list of other ingredients listed he was starting to form in his head how this potion might actually work. He drew out a fresh parchment and his quill and began to list the ingredients down in his notes. He looked up again wondering what the 5Cs were. Was that some kind of spell? He hesitated for a moment before proceeded to prepare his potions materials anyway, the way he always did it at Salem. He took out his cauldron and scourgified it to clean it, inspecting it for any cracks just to make sure it wouldnt leak. It was then that he cast the aguamenti spell and filled the cauldron with water. SPOILER!!: Vickers's notes |
LuLu scanned the ingrediants... possibly if she thought some more she could have gotten one.. Possibly.. Maybe! She opened up her new Potion journel and went to the first page SPOILER!!: Potions Journel ''okay,'' she hummed to herself ''Scourgify,'' she pointed to the cauldron, then looked inside it, all seemed to be at perfection! She smirked a bit... Lafay's class SO changed people! Although she was being a 'nice' teacher today! She liked it  ''Aguamenti,'' she waited for the cauldron to fill up, then she looked up to Lafay for further instructions |
Selina wanted to throw up. The practical end of potions always made the redhead dizzy and sick in anticipation. Something was bound to go wrong, it always did. However, the redhead could not say for certain what would go wrong exactly. It was always a process with Selina, sometimes she would obviously mess up a part of the potion and it would blow up, while other times she did everything correctly and the potion still made individuals sick. So when Lafay instructed them to begin she took out all of her supplies with shaky hands and placed them on the station in front of her. Then she drew out her wand and said softly, "Scourgify." And the cauldron was clean and ready. Then she filled the cauldron with water, "Aguamenti." |
Yay, the five C's.. Kimalia casted a quick, "Scourgify" watching the cauldron sud up and down cleaning it before casting "Aguamenti" when the suds vanished to see it now fill with water. Kimalia wasn't sure if they needed to heat it up next before adding the ingredients so she waited. |
SPOILER!!: Lafay! Moving on..as the list of ingredients appeared on the board, she jotted them quickly on her parchment. SPOILER!!: Beezus' parchment After doing so, Beezus walked over to where her cauldron was, scourgified it first since they were to follow the 5 C's and cleanliness was one and then took out her wand, pointed it towards the cauldron, "Aguamenti.." she uttered and a jet of water rushed into the cauldron from the tip of her wand. Estimating the level of water and settling for more than half of the cauldron, she pulled back her wand and waited for Professor Lafay to announce the steps. |

Ella neatly began copying the ingredients down on her parchment, not wanting to miss anything. Then, putting her quill down, she took up her wand and pointed it at her cauldron. She knew that to fill it she would use aguamenti but the other students were using scourgify first...hmm. Taking a note from the older students, Ella pointed her wand at her cauldron and said, "Scourgify." She wasn't really sure what was supposed to be different so she shrugged and began filling the cauldron with water. "Aguamenti." When she thought there was an adequate amount, she pulled her wand back and looked up at the Professor. |
Minerva smiled with excitement to begin the potion. She took out her parchment and wrote down the ingredients. Parchment: SPOILER!!: As she was getting her cauldron ready and pulling her wand out she thought about the 5 C's and about last years class when students didn't use the C's. Ok the C's are Color, Concentration, Care, Cleanliness, and Content she thought to her self. Then looking at the cauldron she pointed her wand "Scourgify" Once Minerva knew the cauldron was clean she pointed again "Aguamenti" the water began to fill in the cauldron. Minerva noticed she had enough water so she pointed "Finite" and placed her wand back into it's proper place. |
Text Cut: Professor Harvey copied down the ingredients onto his parchment.. Text Cut: Harvey's Parchment He then took out his want and cleaned his cauldron "Scourgify!" he then filled it with water as that was the first ingredient on the list and also the professor had said to fill their cauldrons with water "Aguamenti!! he filled his cauldron.. he then waited for further instructions but not before crossing off water on his list.. Text Cut: Harvey's Parchment |
Messer picked up his quill and wrote down the ingredients in his notebook. After he finished writing the ingredients, then he heard the Potion Mistress said about the 5 C's. He had read about that. The 5 C's were Cleanliness, Care, Color, Concentration, Content. Yup. That was it. Messer took his wand, pointed at his cauldron "Scourgify!" When he was sure that his cauldron was clean enough, he pointed his wand again at his cauldron "Aguamenti!" the water started to flow from the tip of her wand and slowly fill the cauldron, he cast the Finite charm when the water was at the proper level. SPOILER!!: Messer's Notes |
It's time to get the potions done. That would be the most exciting part throughout the lesson. Good. Taking the quill out, Tiffany jointed all the ingredients and procedures down carefully, just hoping that she didn't miss anything, any details. SPOILER!!: Tiffy's notes And then she remembered the 5 Cs as the professor reminded them about that. Cleanliness. That would the most important for her before and after she finished making a potion. She took her wand, pointing at her cauldron,"Scourgify". It was clean enough now. Then she filled it with water, casting the spell,"Aguamenti". That made a good preparation for making the potion. All she had to do now was to wait for the professor for further instructions. |
Laura copied down the notes into her notebook before getting her wand out and filling the cauldron up with the Aguamenti spell, she wanted to have some fun and start a water fight but she didn't really think this Professor would like it and she'd probably get into a lot of trouble so she decided against it. Laura looked around and realised her cauldron was getting full and so she moved her wand onto the floor but forgot to stop the spell for a couple of seconds. "I'm sorry Professor." Laura sighed as the spell stopped, well it was an accident and the floor was just a bit wet but well she didn't know the spell to dry it up or she would have done. |

SPOILER!!: Notes |
Silvia wrote down the ingredients and then turrned to her cauldron. What were the five C's? she thought. She was just a first year and not particularly interested in potions, but there must have been a mention of it in the first chapter of the textbook if it was so important. She glanced around at the other students and heard a number of them saying scourgify. Ah, a cleaning spell, Silvia thought. Silvia was very familiar with the cleaning spell; she witnessed her mother use it numerous times. Then cleaning must be one of the five Cs. It definitely made sense. She pointed her wand at the cauldron and said "Scourgify." It was hard to tell if it had made any difference; but then, this was her first ever potion so the cauldron couldn't be that dirty to begin with. Plus she had wiped out all the dust that had been collecting in it last night. Having made sure the cauldron was clean, Silvia said "Aguamenti," and watched as water fell from the tip of her wand and into the cauldron. Once this was done, she waited quietly for further instructions. |
Ok so they were making a potion to relieve the effects of an allergic substance...ok I guess that could come in handy later for someone. August looking inside his cauldren and didn't see any visible contaminents but that was never the way you checked though. Pointing his wand inside it he said, "Scorgify." and then once it was clean he filled it with water. "Aguamenti." SPOILER!!: Auggie's Notes |
Amelia quickly scribbled down the ingredients that she would need for this potion as she thought about the 5 Cs of potion making: Quote:
She changed the position of her wand now, to point into the cauldron, saying, "Aguamenti." When she had enough water in the cauldron, she placed her wand down again and waited for Professor Lafay to give the next instructions. |
