Eat, drink, and be merry, O Snakes. Classes begin again tomorrow.
The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
And what's this? The silverware is tarnished and askew, almost as if thrust on the table willy-nilly. Take a seat and search for a clean spoon while the Sorting Hat ceremony commences. The House Elves have done their clean up work quickly and effectively, and the silverware and dishes are now set to right.

She would have been scared out of her knickers to fight a mermaid, but Paris made it sound like she was the hero of the day. Harlow seriously doubted that but she wasn't brave enough to question Paris. She liked her ears exactly where they were. "But it is a bit of a jungle in here today," she commented. She shook her head and her mass of tight, curly hair bounced around her tiny head.

Maria looked up from her hands at a girl. "Hey" she said casually.
Lorelai looked round at the girl and smiled slightly. "Hey" she replied. Why was she being so closed? It was not like her. Lorelai turned her body so she was facing the girl more. "I'm Lorelai" she said. Could've been politer but since when did Lorelai Vanderwalker be polite to anybody she didn't know. At least she was introducing herself though, right.

There were so many conversations and things going on all over the place. Ashley tried to listen in on some of them, but he didn't want to look like a creeper or anything, so he couldn't do a very good job of it. Still, he didn't want to look lost or lonely, so he tried to look more... neutral as he quietly watched the others along the table.
Violet looked over at a new boy who had recently sat down. He seemed pretty quiet, but he looked like a first year too, so she leaned over towards him. "Hello, I'm Violet, Violet P. Blackthorne. So, you're in Slytherin, too?"

Lysandra continued to sit by herself at the Slytherin table in the Great Hall. The hall was filled with voices and many conversations. A few she caught had to deal with the house elves that worked at the school had gone on strike. She didn't know weather to believe it or not, though she did see the state of the silverware, but thought nothing of it. Then Professor Droo dealt with a commotion that started at the Slytherin table. It didn't surprise her and she really didn't care at the moment. All she did think about was of how her summer went, which didn't go at all that well. Her bad mood returned a little as the feast continued on. She folded her arms and then rested her head on them, trying to get rid of the headache that started to form.
She turned to look at Regulus as he spoke to her again, "My cousins said Hogwarts is pretty rowdy and loads of fun at the same time. Sarah glanced around. She had grown quiet as the adrenaline rush had died down, and now she was bored and slightly tired.
'Bored, bored, bored... Sarah thought.
Oh. There was a person over there. A person who didn't look happy. That needed to be fixed. Sarah scooted a bit closer to the girl and smiled, "Hey, you alright? You look sorta mad." Sarah widened her smile, "I'm Sarah. Sarah Oliver."
Violet looked over at a new boy who had recently sat down. He seemed pretty quiet, but he looked like a first year too, so she leaned over towards him. "Hello, I'm Violet, Violet P. Blackthorne. So, you're in Slytherin, too?"
Somehow Ashley was surprised that someone had spoken to him. Not so much because he expected to be ignored, but more because it was so sudden, and snapped him out of his wandering thoughts and extreme concentration on not looking pathetic.
"What's the P stand for?" was the first question he asked, because it had popped into his head. A second later he realized that maybe that should have been perhaps the third or fourth thing he said, the first being, "Oh, I'm Ash. Nice to meet you. It would seem I am, yes, in Slytherin. Aren't you?", which he added on quickly.
And were there people from other houses sitting at their table? He didn't know that was even allowed, so hopefully that hadn't come out snarky. He was really curious.
"Hohoho.. You're right. I also don't wanna be forced by my parents which house that I belong to. But fortunately, my father doesn't do that. He just said that which house that I belong to, just do the best for your house and Hogwarts." she explained to her.
"That's good advice," Lana responded. "My parents would have gone bonkers if I was sorted into a house other than Slytherin."

CURRENTLY MOVING.
Excuse my sporadic absence.
The fourteen year old broke from his stupor when he heard his name. He knew the voice as well, he did have a good memory. Looking up, he willed his lips to form a smile. It was small, but nonetheless a smile. "Hey, Aurora," he greeted, trying to put his best face on. He went to sit next to her. "Yeah, huh." He pulled at his tie and cursed at it in his mind. He was going to have to walk around with a constant reminded it seemed.
Trying to distract himself and not seem so sour he looked at his surroundings. It was messy. Wasn't this supposed to be like a prestigious school and stuff? "Is always this messy?" he asked the girl beside him, as he raised an eyebrow.
Kennedy raised his head and gave the girl a 'are you talking to me' look. It wasn't to be rude, he just wasn't used to people talking to him. Maybe a kick here and there, but not talking to him. "I, um, yeah," he said, trying to erased his zombie-like expression.
Knock it off, Escalante. He reprimanded himself.
This was supposed to be like a new beginning in his life. Right? Right. "The sorting caught me off guard," he said, feeling like if he needed to at least give an explanation.
"Oh...well, there's reason for everything," the little first-year tried consoling him. Only after noticing the boy was talking to one of the senior students though, did she realized Mr Optimism wasn't a first year like her. "My bad, haha," she thought. Before running off to get her friends, she smiled an encouraging smile and waved him 'see ya later'.

Will wanted these robes off him. He wanted them off right now. They were hideous. He felt like he was wearing some kind of night robe or dress for that matter. *cringe* The whole ride here had been boring. The boy had gotten a compartment all to himself after kicking out some 2nd years by threatening them. Oh and then he threatened them AGAIN by telling them they'd be sorry if they told anyone about what had just happened.
Gaaah he was such a friendly guy.
At least his hair had turned out perfect today. That was the one brilliant part of his day. That and not having to see ugly Vashiti's face or that freakish Brooke girl who was now his best friend. Fake best friend OF COURSE.
The food here wasn't that vomit-worthy to his amazement. Geez, the house elves working here made it good. Hah, even at Hogwarts house elves were serving him. He appreciated being placed in Slytherin, even though some of the younger kid's sitting at this table looked like they did NOT belong here. Way too spazzy.
He glanced down at his watch. When was this dinner over?

If only he had his books. Maybe he should have read up better before he'd come...

It was a right little glarefest as Tori threw dirty looks in Sierra's direction. Her brows peaked, however, when the girl actually ADMITTED to her dirty deeds and --- stop the press --- APOLOGIZED. Turns out... she had been really, really hungry.
"Well," Tori answered her, softly as first before she cleared her throat. "I... accept your apology."
But no way was she going to feel sorry for Sierra, nor was she about to apologize for dumping the spit!gum on her head. She totes deserved that. And Bunburys never showed sympathy. NEVAH.

Maria smiled and flicked her head to move her hair from her eyes. "Pleasure's mine, Lorelai" she said. She bit her lip. "Second, you?" she asked.
Lorelai moved her fringe out of her face again and bit the inside of her lip looking as self-centered as possible. "First year" she replied. She may only have been 11 but she wasn't to cross. A lot of people had experienced her cold side. And neither of them liked it. It wasn't her fault she'd always been bought up to think about number one. Herself. She very rarely put someone else before herself. And it was very rare she actually befriended someone properly. Unless they had something in common with her, they were not going to be friends with her. End of. She took pride in who she befriended and most the time it WAS someone much like her. And she didn't care if they were older or younger. She'd take them under her wing and show them how it was done. There was only room for one Queen Bee in this world and that was her. Anyone else like it was just her prodigy no matter what.

And my name is Lysandra Malfoy. Nice to meet you Sarah. Oh, and are you a first year? I've never seen you here before.
