Ravenclaw Study Tables

http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...udy-Tables.jpg

Located to the right of the main common room gathering area are the fabled Ravenclaw study tables and library. This is the place where all Ravenclaws gather to study, read books, write poetry and short stories, doodle in sketchbooks, play Wizards Chess, and plan Quidditch strategies.

Books.

She LOVED books. And learning. In fact, she loved anything intellectual.

It was for this reason that the Grey Lady suddenly appeared and made her way to the private Ravenclaw-only library tucked away in the corner of the common room. She hovered between two bookcases as she began reading a book on Divination.

Hopefully the Ravenclaw students would take a cue from her and start earning points to take the lead over the slippery Slytherins.

No, Ellie hadn't been doing so well on the whole "homework" thing, which was odd, considering she was a Ravenclaw. Not that she didn't turn it in, she was just fantastic at procrastination.

Textbooks in hand, Ellie made her way to the convenient study tables in the corner of the common room and. It seemed rather empty, which was a shame. Ravenclaw needed to catch up to Slytherin in the ranks. And not doing homework wasn't going to help.

Plopping her things on a table, she noticed a hovering figure nearby. It was the Grey Lady. Ellie had actually only seen her a few times and never actually spoken with her. "Good evening, Helena." She said with a friendly smile.

Study tables? Oooooh improvment!!!! She smilied to herself and rooted in her bag for books a quill and blank pieces of parchment and sat down at a the table

She looked around and stopped at the pearly white person/Ghost looking at books she took a breath all the ghosts scared the life out of her thats why she was never going back to one of nearly headless nick's deathday partys ''Hello'' she smilied WHAT? it doesn't hurt to be friendly

Damon was very excited to see the study tables set up again this term.... He was wanting to really work on his astronomy homework here, it was cold outside and of course that was the case because it was December. He sat down and started working without stopping only glancing up from time to time to see what the other students were up to.

Eino made his way to the Ravenclaw Study Tables, with the intention to complete his Muggle Studies homework. All he had to do was play the game with someone else, now if only he could find someone to play the game with... He saw an empty table and made his way towards it. He sat down on an empty seat and unpacked his game, Guess Who. He distracted himself by reading the information and rules while he waited for someone, anyone to offer to play with him. It was very intriguing, and he was very excited to try it out. If only all homework assignments were this easy and fun.

Mina was determined to just get everything done once and for all. She really had no distractions around the school and that should have meant she was ahead of her studied, but sadly that wasn't true at all. Her usual study place in the library was swarming with firsties and she just couldn't study there with all the chatter. There was still her Muggle Studies homework that needed to be finished but she needed a quiet spot to focus on it.

Walking into the common room, she noticed an empty spot at a table and walked over. Eino was sitting there, but she hoped that he wouldn't mind if she sat there with him as well. "Eino, mind if I sit with you?"

Eino heard someone call his name and turned around to see Mina, one of his fellow quidditch teammates. "Hello, Mina." The boy said, nodding and gesturing towards one of the seats. These were the study tables so it was not necessary to ask if she was there to study, but he was curious to know what. "What are you here for?" He asked as he put the game's instruction manual aside, and began lifting the little pieces with the faces, to become better acquainted with the game board. "I was just going to begin my Muggle Studies homework." He said and looked down at the game, clearly all they had to do was play, but he still didn't want to play it by himself. Maybe Mina would want to play? He didn't want to ask because she was an older student, and she probably thought board games were silly.

YOUTWO. I'm soo much more excited than Ellie is. XD

Ellie was BORED. So bored that she actually wandered over to the scary tables where people did things like STUDY with BOOKS. But she saw her friends there and...she wanted to go say hi to them. Was that so bad?

"Hey guys.." She nodded at Mina and Eino. "What're you up to?" Her eyes wandered to the funny looking tray Eino was handling.

Mina smiled and set her bag atop the table before taking a seat. "Thank you, I didn't want to intrude or anything." she replied. Sometimes people wanted to study in private alone and she just wanted to make sure it was okay and all. Pulling some books from her bag and a shrunken version of Life, she shrugged. "Just needing to finish up some assignments. The firsties have driven me out of the library with their noise." Really, she didn't remember being like that in her first year at all.

Enlarging the Life game, she set it to the side and smiled. "I still need to do that as well." Finding people that wanted to play a board game with her was harder than she expect, especially since she wasn't really on speaking terms with anyone that she wanted to play the game with. "I think most people don't want to play a game named Life," she added with a small laugh. "Are you having luck with your game?" Guess Who? Seeing the game, she smiled again. Her cousin used to play it with her when she was little.

Ellie... here? That was a strange sight, but at least she wasn't having a panic attack and Eino didn't have to drag her here, so that was good. "Homework." Eino said after waving her hello. Yeah, homework, not quidditch, for once. Had there ever been another occasion where these three were together and not playing quidditch? This was probably the first. "Would you like to join?" He knew the answer, but asked anyway.

"I just read over the instructions..." Eino said as he flicked the little pieces on his board. He still wasn't quite sure how it worked, but that was part of the assignment, right? To learn how it worked by playing it. It was strange that wizards didn't have a game similar to this, or at least if they had Eino had never seen it. "Maybe we can all play together." There were only two boards though, so one of the older students would have to duplicate one of them. Ellie usually wasn't one to be excited for homework, but Mina seemed fairly excited to play the game, so maybe she could help persuade Ellie into playing it too. "I suppose we can play all three... I will try to guess Mina's person, Mina will guess Ellie's and Ellie will guess mine." He parused and looked at the two girls, waiting for a confirmation.

Mina smiled as she saw their captain. "Homework," she replied as she pointed her stack of books. "I swear the professors geminio'd our homework this year or something." It wasn't completely possible, but there was a lot of homework to do and so close together.

Hearing the suggestion, Mina's face lit up. "That's a great idea! I used to love playing this with my cousin." Guessing games always ranked high for her as a child. Looking to Ellie, she smiled. "We really should play. It's a lot of fun. I promise." It was meant for two people, but surely they could make it playable for three. They were all 'claws after all.

HaRoHeGiNeLu 10-05-2011 03:05 AM

The Captain wrinkled her nose at that word. It really was gross. And made absolutely no sense given that they're home was school and the teachers were, in fact, only assigning MORE schoolwork.

But..."It's a game?" Wait...wait...Ellie was in that class. "The Muggle Studies homework?"

Maayyybeee she'll play. She WAS bored enough. "Does it involve cards, though? Shuffling cards?" Because Ellie had played games with her cousin that involved shuffling cards. And she got papercuts. And she did NOT enjoy those. Not one bit.

Eino looked at Mina and smiled. Yes! Someone else was on board with the plan. Griiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin. "Oh, can you duplicate this?" He asked the most experience student, referring to the game board. Since there were only two, they would need an additional one.

Then he got serious, and looked at Ellie. "Yes." He replied and nodded, then shook his head at her next question. There were no cards involved in this game, and Eino demonstrated by showing her the game board and pieces, then handing her the instructions. "It's very easy." Even though the instructions made it seem all complicated, but that was because it was explained in several different languages. "So..." He said making space for her to take the seat next to him, the placed his hands neatly on his lap.

"Everyone, ready?" He began, not giving much time for Ellie to get situated. "I will begin by guessing Mina's person, then Mina will guess Ellie's and Ellie will guess mine." He put all of the cards in the middle of the table, and then took one for himself, then waited for the ladies to do the same. These were the people they would try to guess, hence the name Guess Who.

Mina nodded as she looked at Ellie. She did love it when they actually had homework that didn't feel like homework completely.

Reaching for her wand, she smiled. "Of course." Casting a quick Geminio on the board, she handed it back along with the duplicate. "You know I'm so excited to play now," she grinned happily.

Placing a board in front of herself, she reached for a card and sheltered close to her as she looked down at the picture and laid the card face-down just under her board. "I'm ready."

HaRoHeGiNeLu 10-05-2011 04:12 AM

Aww, Eino. He smiled! Ellie reached over and pinched his cheek nearest to her, "You should smile more often. It's adorable." Really, it was.

Anyway. She took the instruction manual, hardly looked it over, and cast it aside. She'll learn from example how it's played. Just as she'd ask someone a question rather than find it in a book. It was the Ellie way. And in Ellie's opinion, the best way.

Following their lead, the redhead also took a card from the pile and placed it faced down. These cartoon people were UGLY, man. "Ready, too."

You know, she was actually genuinely a little excited.

Jezabel Black 10-05-2011 07:33 AM

Jez sat down at one of the study tables, brushing her hair out of her eyes. She took out that diary she'd bought in Hogsmead and flicked it open. Blank pages, just waiting to be filled. Jez dipped her quill in her ink and started writing a paragraph. A long paragraph, with many crossing-outs and scribbles and corrections. But a paragraph that basically got out of her head what had happened over the past few days. Then on the page next to her paragraph she wrote a poem about her feelings. This was hard for Jez, since she didn't usually acknowledge her emotions much beyond happy, sad and angry. Then on the page next to the poem she wrote a short story on how she hoped things would turn out. Jez read over what she had written, and then stuffed the diary into her satchel, and got out some schoolbooks instead. Now maybe she could concentrate on her studies ...

RachieRu 10-05-2011 04:55 PM

Ugh. This book was soo heavvy. Why were astronomy books soo heavy. It was totally not fair on her little arms. She hoped that she would learn a spell to make the books go lighter. Because then she wouldn't get arm ache at all. Maybe she'd ask Ellie, because she knew that Spike wouldn't tell her. He was mean like that. Ooh. Here was some tables. Ooh. And Ellie, and the other people from quidditch were there. Indy smiled at them, as she placed the book onto the table. She was going to read about the planets in the solar system, so that she would be able to pick a good one to do her astronomy homework on. She was so glad that they were learning about planets. They were soo cool. Sitting down, she opened the book, and began reading.

Eino thanked Mina and took one of the boards for himself. "As am I." He admitted, shyly. He felt a little guilty that the homework was playing a game, for some reason, but it was homework, and not procrastinating. He had to tell that to himself several times before getting used to the idea. Of course, just as he grew more comfortable, Ellie made him feel like he was tightrope walking again. After making his cheeks blush, she pinched them, and it got even redder! He tried to hide his face behind the game board, but by then both girls said they were ready, so he just went along.

After everyone was set up, and Eino's cheeks had returned to normal, he turned to Mina. "Mina, does your person wear a hat?" He asked, and waited for her response.

Looking to Eino, she shook her head. "No, my person is not wearing a hat." Looking for to Ellie, she smiled. "Ellie, is your person a female?"

Hmmm... Eino scratched the back of his head and flicked all of the little pieces of the people wearing hats down. So her person was not wearing a hat... He looked at the board and contemplated on his next question. After giving them each a turn, he tried to guess her person again. "Is your person wearing glasses? He looked up from his board at Mina and waited for a reply. He really hope her person was wearing glasses, that way he would be closer to guessing.

Mina looked up from her own board after waiting to hear Ellie's response. She knew her captain would like this game. Upon hearing her answered, she looked to Eino as she flipped down the tags for the persons that couldn't be Ellie's card.

Shaking her head, she smiled. "No, my person is not wearing glasses." She saw what he was doing and knew that he would figure it out very soon. They would really have to play this again soon.

Again she turned to Ellie and smiled. "Does your person have blue eyes?" Waiting for a reply, she looked back down at her board.

Starbreeze 10-05-2011 07:14 PM

Aww, no glasses. Down, down, down, down, aaaaaaaaaand down. Now he had faces of people with no hats and no glasses up. He scratched his chin as waited for the two girls to guess among themselves, and finally spoke. "Is your person a lady?" He inquired, looking up at Mina. This was fuuuuuuun, he already wanted to play a new game after this one was over. Maybe they could play a different game, the one Mina had brought in.

HaRoHeGiNeLu 10-05-2011 07:18 PM

Hi, Little Hutchinson. The firstie got a smile.

Aww, Eino. He just got cuuuuter with that blush. Cute, cute.

Ellie took one of the game trays and flipped all the people up, as she'd seen the others do. And now question asking? "No and no." At least, Ellie didn't think her person was a girl. It was a male name...and looked like a male...but, really, all these people looked like aliens, so WHO KNEW.

"Eino? Does your person have a hat?" Yes or no questions, yeah? That's what the others seemed to be doing.

Starbreeze 10-05-2011 07:27 PM

When Ellie spoke Eino turned to her, then his little card. The figure on it did not have a hat, so he looked up at Ellie and shook his head. "No hat." He pulled his card closer so no one could take a peek and cheat. He looked back at his board and realized that half of it was down, so he was closer to finding out who was Mina's person. Ellie was making progress, too, and so was Mina.
