The glittering night sky is clear and visible through the enchanted ceiling, and the floating candles bedeck the entire hall in a warm golden light. All seems well with the world, aside from the empty plates still waiting for food to appear.
Oh oh oh oh! Pips darted between students in search of something. His head was down and he was quietly telling himself off for being a VERY BAD ELF. More ear ironing in his future.
"Pips is needing excusing, please. Pips is looking. Looking..."
Lilly looked down at her feet. Pushing through was a tiny little house elf. He was sooo cute! She'd never seen one before. The little guy didn't look happy with himself. Lilly stared at him, helplessly. 'Are you alright?' was all she could say. The girl wasn't good at first introductions.
Maxwell searched the tables for his friends but found none, nothing but older students and they all seemed to be close and Maxwell felt interrupting that would be awkward so he searched for someone his age, a girl with bright red hair that he assumed to be a first year, he sat next to her. "Hello, I'm Maxwell I don't think we met all year, Which is odd." He said and laughed while putting some food on his plate.
Nessie swallowed the mouthfull of food. She smiled at Maxwell and held out her hand. "Nessie Masen. I usually keep to myself, I'm not suprised that you've never meet me. It's great to meet you now though!" She smiled warmly and took another bite of food. Wow! She was starving.
"So how has your year been?" She asked wiping a bit of food off the corner of her mouth.

Nessie nodded and laughed. "It's a conspiracy man! Their out to get us addicted so we'll stay in school." She said mocking the voice of tht of a hippy. She grabbed a roll and tore a part of it off and popped it into her mouth.
Brooklyn walked quickly toward the Great Hall. Yeaaaahhh. She was late. But y'know.. she wasn't all that hungry as it was. She was too worried and stressed about all of the people leaving. All of her friends leaving. She sighed and finally reached the doors of the Great Hall.
With a somewhat sheepish expression, she brushed her skirt down, making it flatter with her hands before walking forward, toward the Gryffindor table. As was usual for the young girl, it was not long before she got distracted. Sure, she did make it to the table, but she never got a chance to sit down.
A girl stood near the table with a PURPLE BALL OF FLUFF on her head. Curiosity getting the best of her, she approached the other girl. "Is that a Pygmy Puff?" She inquired.
Selena was still skipping around but stopped when a girl stopped in front of her. Was that a Pygmy Puff on her head? "Nope," Selena chirped because Kent was no ordinary pygmy puff. "Well, kinda, Kent's the king of all Pygmy Puffs," Selena decided - that was special enough, right? Of course. "He's no ordinary puffball." she said.
Selena picked Kent off of her head and started to pet his fur, somewhat calmly. Kent shivered slightly and blinked his giant blue eyes at the girl in front of him... and Selena.

Ah, finally, the end of year feast. Jordan certainly looked forward to this wonderful social event. Mainly because of the food, as it was delicious! So Jordan took a seat close to some fellow Gryffindor Students. He was so hungry, he could eat a hippogriff. And Jordan usually ate up the feast, he literally went to town eating at the feast in his first year. He could visualize himself, like it was thanksgiving at Hogwarts.

The blond stood silently, watching the little purple fluffball curiously. Gosh, they had always intrigued her.

J-O-R-D-A-N!
Ronnie ran as fast as she could to pull Jordan in the biggest hug ever. "Hey Jordan!" she said in a squeaky voice. Meh. What was that about? She kept hugging him (for what seemed like FOREVER) and finally let him go.

"Hey how are you?" Jordan asked. Ronnie was probably one of her best friends, especially since she wasn't such a downer. Jordan never saw Ronnie as the "drama" or "Instigator" type of person. Which was great. "Enjoying the feast?" Jordan said as Ronnie and him took their seats.

"I'm great! How about you?" she said excitedly, yeah her boyfriend had been looking at his ex-girlfriend like he liked her again, and his ex was doing the same. You'd expect her to be all crying and stuff, buuuut she didn't want any drama. She hated that. And besides, she was twelve. She's not old enough for relationship...stuff or whatever. "Oh yeah I am, it's brilliant." she said. She LOVED food. "What about you?" she asked.

Nessie put down her fork as she saw the new arrival. She offered her hand in greeting. "Hello I don't think we've ever met before. I'm Nessie Masen."

Maxwell smiled. "It's been interesting, I got in some trouble at the beginning of the year with some friends and learned a lot about magic, mainly transfiguration and about myself." Maxwell said thinking about the year. "How was Yours?"

"Hi, I'm Jordan. Nice to meet some new fellow Gryffindors!" This girl seemed nice, and she was a Gryffindor! Regardless of what year she was, Jordan always seemed to be nice to everyone. "What year are you again?" Jordan asked politely while shaking Nessie's hand.

Nessie shook his hand gently. "It's nice to meet you too." she said and it suddenly dawned on her that she was talking to more people now than she had ever during the school year. 'Maybe there's hope for you yet Masen.' She thought to herself. She smiled at him kindly. "I'm a first year." Her eyebrows furrowed in concentration as she tried to peg what year he was. "I found out the man i thought was my father, who never really liked me and was a muggle by the way turned out not to be my father, I'm thinking about changing my name." Maxwell said in a matter of fact, joking way letting nessie know he was light hearted about the situation. "On a less interesting note i'm learning to be an Animagus." He said trying to lighten the mood.

"Ah, First Year was great. Oh, I'm a second year." Second Year just didn't feel the same, although he loved Hogwarts, it just didn't feel fresh. "So, where are you from?" Jordan was actually pretty anxious to where people came from, whether they came from the States of America, England, wherever. Jordan wished he could remember where he was actually born at. Ever since that night he couldn't remember anybody or anything.

Nessie's eyes widened in shock. Wow what a year for him. She knew that she would have never had been as lighthearted as he seemed. "What would you change your name to if you decide to?" She asked politely. As he moved on to another subject she was surprised. She had never known an Animagus - or aspiring Animagus. She was genuinly interesting. "What is your form? She asked eagerly awaiting the answer.

Nessie nodded. A second year . . . Huh. She was always a bit afraid of the older kids. They intimidated her. So she guessed that's why she seemed so alone. Nessie thought for a moment. Where was she from? Scotland or Boston? She was born and lived a good part of her life in Boston but she and her Godmother did move to Scotland a few years ago. Finally deciding she answered. "I was born and resided in Boston for the better part of my life. My Godmother and I moved here a few years ago to get away from . . . personal problems. Her eyes grew distant as she remember the begining of the move. She decided to divert the attention from herself. "Where are you from?"

"If i do change it, it'll either be my mother's maiden name 'Rookwood' or my real father's name 'Lupin' I'm not sure though." Maxwell smiled he never thought himself to be an interesting person but maybe he was. "I won't know until i change, unless i see my patronus first, a person's animagus form has a lot to do with their inner nature, just like a patronus so it's more than likely they'll be the same." Maxwell said feeling smart, all those hours of reading had paid off.

If she was interested. Pff. "Carter, if you're serious, I'm so interested." She said with a small laugh. How brilliant would that be? And not to mention fun. She could be his personal assistant while she trained to be a healer for St. Mungos. Peeerfect.
And he couldn't wait? Pff. Ellie couldn't wait.
Carter nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah. I'm completely serious." he said. Really. He really did need someone to keep track of his life for him. "It'll be there for you when you graduate... if you'd like." And if that boyfriend of hers didn't care that she'd be running off with a quidditch player a few times a week.
He smiled at the mental image he had of Ellie in a little business suit following him around with a little notebook.
He was graduating. And... he was finally coming to terms with it.

"Even in blue robes, you will always be a Gryffindor first...wait...you will always be my big brother lion first," she said with a few whimpers and sniffles. "Thank you for everything, Carter."
Carter smiled at the lioness and wrapped his arms around her one last time. He knew it would be selfish for him to keep everyone's time. There were other people graduating too. "Always." he promised with a nod. "Thank you too." For all the treats. And for teaching him that younger students weren't that bad.
And... of course... for remembering where all his classes were.
"I couldn't have picked a better little lion sis."

Cassie beamed at Carter and chuckled a little. It was nice to see that the boy could laugh at his predicament and not walk around all depressed looking. That was a good character trait and it showed that the boy had indeed grown on a lot. Maybe those girls should that thought twice about leaving him. But Marilyn had time..she hadn't given up on that yet, nope.
"You're so optimistic about your life Carter." She teased.
Once again she burst out laughing. Seemed he was son a roll tonight. "Do you really think you're that good?" She eyed him with an amused expression on her face.
Gah oh no! She felt her hand hit Carter's jaw and was about to search for his face and abandon her elf hugging mission when he took hold of her hand.
"I'm calm I'm calm, what's going on?" She turned her head this way and that until Carter threw the banner off.
"That was really weird...even for Hogwarts standard."
Carter chuckled and ran a hand through his hair. "It took a lot to get me where I am." Namely two years of feeling like crap. But he was graduating. He was going to feel sad enough leaving... he didn't need to be concerned with other feelings. "I guess I just finally figured out that I don't need to know everything right now." Or have everything figured out. His parents would be proud if they were to ever hear him say something like that. Not that he was ready to admit that he had grown up.
Plus. There were girls outside of Hogwarts. He'd be just fine.
He smirked. "There's only one way to find out." Not that he was going to do anything. Cassie was taken. And he wasn't the kind of guy that stole girlfriends.
"I dunno. I think that ghost belongs to the house elves." he said rubbing his jaw a bit. And now that he could see he eyed the Slytherin table.

Oh more confusing drama. Though of course everyone has it. Even herself. She twisted her sister's ring on her finger before smiling encouragingly at him. "That's fine. We're here all night aren't we? I'm willing to listen if you're willing to tell." She said encourging him to continue with his story.

Maxwell laughed "I hadn't thought much about how i feel about it, It's a new idea but i guess i'm different than i was last year." Maxwell said feeling older than he normally did, he had turned 12 while at hogwarts maybe that was why. "I just learned about Patronuses myself but from what i've read about Animagi they seem to be similar in form. The only thing i can do since i'm so young is read about the magic the practical stuff won't be available to me for a few years." Maxwell thought about the ball of light he managed to make at the patronus lesson and felt the same pride. "Were you able to make a whisp of light in the patrouns lession?" Maxwell asked out of curiosity.

Nessie knew how he felt. With the soon-to-be new family members and all the changes that had happened in the past year, the feeling of age ccan pile on pretty quickly. She felt so old. She shivered slightly at the thought. She thought back to the Patronus lesson that had gone not so well for her. She tried casting early and the Professor took five points. FIVE POINTS!!!!!! Nessie shook her head violently. "No, I never was able to get a whisp. Maybe I should try to find a new memory . . . " She trailed off more to herself. She took a bite of whatever was in front of her. She could't really tell which food was which. All the English food looked the same to her. And it was so weird! She was much more used to the American foods she grew up on. She was brought back to the real world. "So do you read a lot?"

Selena saw the confusion the girl had and simply smirked in response; very Slytherin, no? "Nope, I just named him King of all Pygmy Puffs so therefore, he must be King of all Pygmy Puffs," Selena said. It made sense to her. It made a lot of sense to her, so she was pretty sure brunette-y in front of her understood too. "Selena," she said, putting Kent back on her head and sticking her hand out for the girl to shake. With her other hand, she pointed at the puff on her head. "Kent."

Nessie laughed. "Maybe I should try that!" Sometime she really did need help sleeping at night. Especially with all the drama going on in the common room. That's always loud and disturbing. Nessie pulled back her hair to reveal little black and yellow Bruin's symbols. "I'm from the United States, specifically Boston." She said letting her hair fall back into place. Then she got to wondering whether he was native to the UK or not. "Are you from around here?"
