After having given the students sufficient time to practice, Gnaeus clapped and bellowed to capture their attention, although just one of the methods would have worked. For all eyes to be on him, though, he had to climb up the stage, which he did, then spoke. "Very well done, young wizards. Now, the reason I wanted you to duel freely is so that you could learn just how exhausting and dangerous it can be. But, even if you injure yourselves during the duel, you don't automatically lose. You can duel as long as you have your wand, and energy to do so, of course. Injuries can hinder your performance. However, sprained ankles, broken fingers, minors cuts, bruises, and burns can be healed during the duel." He held his index finger high in the air so that everyone could see it, then with his other hand he grabbed it and -- CRACK! He waved his broken finger around so that everyone could get a good look at it, then took out his wand. He point it at his broken finger and uttered, "Episkey." There was another cracking sound and the finger was repaired. "This spell will help you in duels if you ever suffer a mild injury, so now I would like for you to practice it. It would be a shame for you to forfeit a duel simply because of a broken finger, no? It will help you mend broken bones, cuts, and burns, but only small ones... The wand movement is simple, just point, and the incantation is eh-PIS-kee. Go on and try it." OOC: Your character should have suffered some very minor injuries while dueling so use this spell to heal your character. If you haven't injured yourself, just pretend you did, but nothing serious! Your injury should not require immediate medical attention. Now, you can just practice the healing spell once and be done with it or you can take this opportunity to complete Spell Assignment #2. You will need three posts, but that doesn't mean you need three injuries, you can just practice it three times on the same one until it heals. If you choose to do this, please help me by including the number of your post in the title. Quick Note: All of the spells your character masters, such as the Verdimillious Charm and now the Episkey Spell, will remain in the master post for spells, so he/she will be able to use it in duels for as long as he/she is in Hogwarts. They will come in handy when we have tournaments. |
