Tayla breathed in deeply, trying to keep calm. A few Slytherins were starting to watch and that didn't make her feel any better.
"You must have dropped it when I bumped into you...in the train, remember?" Tayla began shakily, struggling to keep her voice still. She wasn't going to let this girl get away with thinking she stole it. "I saw it on the floor...right after you and your friend walked away. Th-that's why I didn't...I mean, I couldn't return it then...so I...erm..."
Tayla shrugged and forced herself to speak straight. At least she was a little taller than Elizabeth. That helped somehow. "I just though you'd want it back. I would, if I lost a book, too."
Elle sneered. "Fine. I believe you. Don't have to stutter. Enjoy the Feast," she said with forced politeness and returned to where Cass was. It seemed like they were about to have dinner already, seeing that the line of First Years to be Sorted was dwindling very quickly.

Tayla sighed and smiled in relief. "Enjoy the feast, too..." she said in a whisper as she left the Slytherin table and headed back to the Gryffindors. "What an interesting welcome to Hogwarts," she thought in amusement.
Where. Was. Hugo's. Girlfriend. He needed her! Well, not really but he wanted to see her! He noticed she hadn't arrived yet, just like Kurumi's cookies, so he decided to take a seat and wait for her, hoping there wasn't any Slytherin meanie around to kick his bum or something.

"I actually forgot... I inherited the summer house. In the South of France. I was thinking of living there. If you want to... you could move there with me. Salander... did you or didn't you ask me to marry you? I am confused... please just answer it so I can get this straight. And if that is not what you meant... it's okay... I am..." she cut off and began to cry a bit harder, silently though so as not to draw more attention to herself.
Rufus smacked Salander in the head and stuck his tongue out at him and immediately went to his mistress. She was sad... Rufus didn't like that one bit... He crawled into her lap and actually put his little arms around her neck in a little monkey hug. No more sads.
He stared at her, panic rising with each drop of her tears that fell. He didnt mean for her to cry. Why is it that it seems that he keeps doing this unwittingly lately? Automatically he took a kleenex out and handed it to her, then folded his hands together, enclosing her other hand completely. The M word. She said it. Twice. The lawyers said it. Several times. Of course it was a lot more apathetic than how he's hearing it now. And at all times he could feel this sense of internal panic, the cold sweat breaking out, the struggled breathing, his stomach doing flip flops, the dizzying buzz in his head.
He stared at their folded hands together. "Lexi, I love you very, very much. And when I think of my future, I couldnt imagine it without you." he rasped in a loud whisper, his throat gone completely parched. "My entire time in New York, I wasnt just fighting for my own future, I was fighting for ours. I told them I will lead this family in my terms, not theirs." Then he looked into her eyes imploringly as he squeezed her hand "They know that my terms includes you-- will always include you."
And..... he couldnt say anymore. He seized the water goblet and started gulping it down his parched throat, the only thing thing keeping his stomach from lurching up completely.

That was it... he didn't want to marry her. She knew it. He was just... content with living with her so he never had to REALLY commit. She wasn't sure how she felt about that. She grudgingly took the kleenex and wiped her eyes in vain. More tears spilled and she hugged Rufus with one arm.
She finally looked at him, messed up face covered in tear stains now. "You just want to live with me... and be together, but you can't even say the WORD, Stradivarius Salander. Are you afraid that one day you will realize how difficult I am... that I am not worth the effort anymore... and that way you can leave with no big production?" she squeaked out through sobs.
See. She KNEW she wasn't worth it. They knew it... and one day he would too.
Rufus clung to Lexi and petted the side of her face lovingly. Gah. Mean boy making his mistress cry.

Eugh. Silly second years. HOW do you get lost on your way up to the castle? It's hardly a maze! Now those two kids were over at their table, the Head Girl made her way to the Slytherin Table. In her uniform, Iris's Head Girl badge was pinned onto her chest.
After quickly scanning the table, Iris frowned. She couldn't see Aaron, Fallon OR Jimbo.
Brilliant.
Just, brilliant.
Late (for Head Girl standards, anyway) AND friendless. What a fantastic start to the year this is! She had no clue where either of her friends were.

Seeing Hugo sat alone on the Slytherin table, Iris raised her eyebrow slightly. It was odd to see him sat on his own, at this table. She walked down towards him, and took the seat opposite. Iris picked up the goblet closest to her, and filled it with water. "Hullo! ... Where's Fee?" Nice, blunt and to the point.

K-Lee grinned at the sight of the familiar table. She was back at Hogwarts. K-Lee looked at the table, trying to decide where to sit.
Her holidays had been nice. The first few weeks were away at America visiting her cousins Tristan and Andie, and her aunt and uncle. After she got home, it had been to her surprise after that when Andie showed up and told them that she was moving to England for her new job at the ministry. K-Lee was happy to have her cousin, who was more like an older sister, in the same country as her.
She sat down in an empty seat and smiled at all the people around her.
Jeanne looked for Jonathan over the Slytherins. In her hand was still his wand. He left it in the compartment while he felt asleep. Thankfully, Jeanne came back and found it on the ground. She walked shyly amongst the slytherins, scared she sat down in the chair. Well, she can't just give his wand to anyone else. Besides, she doesn't know which person to give it.

Iris nodded and glanced towards the large doors, as if expecting to see Fee walk through the doors. "Oh, I see... You looked a bit lost sat here on your own." He didn't have a clue where she was, did he? ... haha. It never failed to amaze Iris how alike Hugo and Fee were in comparison to Aaron and herself, when they were that age.
As he brought up the fact that it was Iris's last year at Hogwarts, she sighed and chewed the side of her lip. "I'm... sad. I don't want to leave in July. Gonna miss this place." Iris looked up, to the enchanted ceiling. Out of everything in Hogwarts, that was one of the things she was going to miss the most. It was still breathtakingly amazing now, seven years on. Glancing back at Hugo, she chirped up a little, smiling. "But before I leave, there's lots to get done. This is an important year for me!" Yup. Head Girlship. Very, very important business that was.

What the---??? Jonathan went over to Jeanne who was sitting alone amongst all of the Slytherins. He sat next to her and smiled. "So why is a pretty Ravenclaw over here?" leaning to Jeanne, for a kiss perhaps?
Jonathan saw Jeanne holding a wand and right there he knew why she was here in the first place. OHHH! Clumsy me huh? "sorry." pointing to his wand. He knows it's his wand since it's engraved with a Korean calligraphy on the bottom.

Jeanne chuckled as he complimented her. "Really?" Her eyebrows slightly raised. "did you lose something perhaps?"
Of course he saw him looking at the wand Jeanne was holding. Jeanne wanted to tease him more though. "You apologized? For what exactly?" laughing lightly, she gave him his wand. "Don't.lose.it.next.time." even with a smile on her face Jeanne said those words seriously.

"OHHHHMYGOSHHH. Your hair, it's GWEEN. I like your hair, CAN I HAVE IT?!"She asked, wide eyes. She couldn't help all the questions and comments! They just sort of...SPRUNG OUT OF HER MOUTH."Can yooooou use the spell to color my hair green like yours? I'D BE SO HAPPY."
SHE WANTED GREEN HAIIIIIR.
She blinked a bit and stopped flailing, and just stared at the older girl.
"Oh....AND I'M MINNIE."
*BEAMAGE*
BLINKIE STARE.
She heard another voice, WHAT WAS WITH HER AND HEARING ALL THESE VOICES?! whaa: Perhaps it was cause people were actually talking to her? Oh yes, that had to be it. Minnie was now sure of that. Her head whipped around now, now looking in the face of a girl her age....she thought. She could have been an older looking firstie or EVEN a young looking older person. It was really hard to tell, especially in the crazy mind of Minnie. SO MANY CONFUSING THOUGHTS. It was hard to keep a good train of thought when your brain when all crazy which her's did...most of the time.
She scrunched her face up now, all confused."Huhhhhhh?"She questioned in a high pitched little voice."I dunno what yerr talkin' about."She said confusion still written all over her face."So...can you tell me wha...OHMYGOSH. IT'S A FUZZY THING!"Minnie said while POINTING at the FUZZY thing. She wanted to pet it and squish it and cuddle it and steal it and make it her own. Of course, that would be MEAN to just steal someone's fuzzy thing so she wasn't going to do it. She was going to pet it though, and squish it and cuddle it. Pshhh, forget making FRIENDS. She would be amused with the fuzzy animal.....which she didn't know what it was exactly. OH WELL.
She looked back at the girl's face now, innocent smile on her face. She nodded,"Welllll, YES. I suppose so, I go by that by my REAL name's Amelia but I don't LIKE that name soooooo I go by Minnie cause Minnie's prettier."She beamed, twirling a strand of her hair. Sit down? OH. "OH YEAH."She sat down now, in front of the girl talking the girl who's name she did NOT know."Shannnnnnnnnks...WHATS YOU NAME?!"She asked, before looking at the chicken and then the fuzzy thing again.
IT WAS SO CUTE. *________*
Oh yeah, chicken. She needed to eat the chicken...

No, Velma simply would not take this--she was a Slytherin woman of pride and honor and to be talked down by by--a girl who CLEARLY looked much younger than she was! EW. "Excuse me?! You take that back, RIGHT NOW!" she demanded, and she stood up with pride, on tip-toes, to show how real this green was!
It was real hair. It was. It simply was.
"Now, little girl, don't you ever dare use that tone and language with me AGAIN--you're obviously jealous of my green beauty," she scoffed, "You should try and get some."Beauty, that is.
SILLY CHIIIIIIILD. "I demand an apology." She was still standing of course, her wig hair still up there with pride.
Lulu Patterson had met her fair of crazy in her short life. Tonight, however, was pushing her into unknown territories of insanity where she wasn't sure if it was to hex first and ask questions later when the Healers from St. Mungo's arrived to collect their runaway patients. Lu pressed two fingers against the bridge of her nose, right where it met the corner of her right eye. "Stop," she whined when Minnie started shouting about wanting green hair. "Stop, stop. Full stop. Pretty sure that breaks about five school rules and me eyeballs too."
Talkin' Aboot? Lulu groaned. Right, she couldn't expect a first year to understand her accent. Patterson was taking care to stop using less of the Glaswegian dialect and more of the fancy English these Londoners and other nearby residents fancied using. At Minnie's sudden screech, Lulu grabbed Sir Robin defensively from the table. The ferret struggled, pushing his black paws against Lulu's cheeks repeatedly in an attempt to escape.
"Amelia's quite awrite," assured Lulu although she didn't think it suited the girl quite as Minnie did. "Minnie is better, though. Name's Lulu Patterson. This here is Sir Robin, he--" Lulu gave an angry shout as Robin escaped to the table. He landed on the silverware, rattling the table. "Eejit."
Lulu wasn't done with eejits or St. Mungo's escapees it seemed because the Green Haired Eejit was now speaking at her; demanding apologies and what not. Lulu raised an incredulous brow at her before laughing. She turned her face away from her to snatch a fork away from Sir Robin. The ferret chattered loudly and crossed the table to climb up Minnie's shoulders where he observed the bright haired girl with vicious curiosity.
"Talkin' aboot?" said Lulu loudly, half leaning over the table at the girl before pulling down one eyelid and sticking her tongue out. "Calm down and sit down. Yer obviously new."

Of course Jeanne backed off. Fails. Jonathan tends to lose a lot of things. This would be the second time Jeanne picked up something he lost. And it's the most important item never to lose. "Y-yes, i think so." Jonathan can sense that he's in for some teasing. Jeanne doesn't like it when he loses stuffs. He took the wand that was on Jeanne's hand and said "Sorry" he repeated.
"You really were. I was about to say to you a while ago to get out of the compartment so I could change, and when I turned you were gone. Figured you swam across the lake 'cause you were that excited." Mordred chuckled at the thought. He looked around the hall, and studied the details. It was pretty much like home.
"Yes, I have to write too. Mum would be happy about the result." he said as he looked down at his tie. "It'll change automatically." he shrugged and at that moment, his tie turned into a deep shade of green and silver, as well as his hood and a Slytherin badge appeared on his left chest. "And it's official." he declared with a grin.
"I'm famished. Shall we?" he asked Aurora before taking a bite of his steak and mashed potatoes.
"I would have if they'd let me. Mine changed too!" She looked down at her robes and filled with pride as the green and silver details made themselves noticable. "Bring on the snakes!" She said with a grin.
"Oh definitely!" She found some shepherds pie -finally- and tucked in. "So which of the teacher's do you think looks the meanest?" She asked between mouthfuls, gestring towards the staff table.

Mordred almost forgot his table manners as he ate. He was really hungry and the food was very delicious. He looked at the staff table as he chewed. "Hmm." he swallowed. "The third one from the left." he said and took a drink from his goblet. "I say the professor at the far right looks strict." he went back to his dinner, slicing a big chunk of steak. "I have a feeling she's Slytherin's Head of House." Mordred grinned. "She looks Slytherin to me." he added as he stuffed his mouth with food.

Where were her friends when she needed them? She searched the Slytherin Table, expression grim.

Cody had ever only been to the Slytherin table once. He had talked to all of his friends his Gryffindor and promised to see Elle.
He saw a empty seat next to her. "Hey Elle", he said as he tap her on the shoulder.
Cody certainly saw quite a few new first years in Slytherin.

It was a long trip indeed in the train Lara thought to herself! She spent great time with many people. However while getting thier trucks, she and them got separeted. Anyway, Lara entered the great hall with a big smile on her face for this what she was waiting for three months ago.
She headed towards the Slytherin Table glanced at her house mates which made her smile even more. She was looking at the faces trying to find someone of her friends.
Well, she it didn't take long as she glanced Elle few saets away. She made her way towards her as she was passing some students and finally she got to her, she found an empty seat besides her so she sat there without even asking "Wheo! That was a long way" She took a breath "Oh where did you go? I was looking all over for you! It's so crowded" Lara said as she saw that Elle was already talking to someone so she smiled and said "Hi!"

LATE was the word for Evan Cartwright now. LATE for the feast, well, not that much but still a PREFECT ought to be there to lead his house and welcome the newcomers, right? But, first he had to deal with over-excited firsties on the train; then he had to deal with Sophie--and he still had to deal with that not to lose her completely--and then he was with Mina, talking about his future. A hectic ride, it sure had been, much more hectic than even the last one when he was first appointed as a prefect. And now, as he could see clearly, all firsties were sorted and sitting at his table... great...
Adressing them all from the beginning of the table, he said "Welcome, new people, to the proud house of Slytherin..." Sucking for a welcoming speech? Pretty much. He didn't even introduce Iris or their head of house. It didn't occur to him, in fact. Well. This was the best he could do with so much on his mind. Chuckling uneasily, he waved at them and started to look for the faces he would greet personally. Marie wasn't here. Pout. And Iris was talking to a small kid... How come no one was there to greet him?! He was the PREFECT, after all! Mweh...

She wasn't usually this concerned about anyone or anything else, but the kneazle had taken a liking to her and didn't seem comfortable at all around nearly everyone else.
Shoving the book she'd been trying to read on the train deep into the pockets of her robes, Sierra took a seat at the house table. For a few brief seconds, her eyes scanned the staff table. Oh, great--that lazy excuse of a professor was back again. Oh, yes, you--the one who made us service all the school brooms and clean up the filthy, deserted greenhouses. At least he was a good Flying instructor and Quidditch official, though. There were a few new faces, but Sierra would get around to figuring out who they were once classes got underway. For now, she turned her attention to her own house table.
Ahh, Slytherin--her safe haven away from Hufflepuffs, annoying Gryffindors, and spastic Ravenclaws.
After almost walking the whole table, he finally saw a familiar face--someone he could talk to for a while, at least, before Marie arrived.
"Hey Sierra," he greeted the girlwith the warmest smile he could muster with his head so full, offering her friends around a smile and a wave as well. "How was your summer?"

Naaaw, a new Slytherin girl... and Evan DID catch her walk towards the table, even if he may have missed the glorious part of 'SLYTHERIN' yell of the Hat.
"Welcome to the best House," he said, grinning. It WAS true and known; they were the best. Hehe. And she was aware of it too, by the looks of her walking. Good.

As he was greeting the other girl, some little girl else rushed to the table--it even seemed she was more interested into the food than the Slytherin itself. As he got himself ready to high-five her, she dramatically fell and he had to bite his lips not to laugh. It was a horrible thing, of course, even without the whole SCHOOL watching her, but he just couldn't help it.

True she wasn’t surprise at all that she has been put in Slytherin she was a pureblood and it was like a family thing.
She was a bit scared that she didn’t knew anyone at school but the food in front of her made her forget all about it, it all looked so delicious that it was hard to decide what to eat first.
A shy and silent newbie? Aww... watching her help herself for a moment, not to scare her off immediately, Evan reached his hand out at last to welcome her.
"Welcome!" he said warmly, as he smiled. He didn't even repeat 'the best house' part, it was obvious now. "Evan Cartwright, your prefect."

"Welcome, Faith..." Evan said as he scooted over to make space for her. Since there was NO Marie or Mina or Iris, he could sit with the new people as well and get to know them.
"I'm Evan Cartwright, the prefect." Tehee. He looked over at Iris to see if she heard the stress on 'the', or not. Well, he was 'the' prefect now, since she got the Head Girl position...
Wide eyed and excited Roxanne sat next to her fellow Slytherin's in awe of the feast before her. She was so happy to be sorted into her favorite house! As she ate she looked around to see if she spotted any other first years...
"I think you're right, she's the potions master too, apparently she's brilliant!" said Aurora in a gap between mouthfuls, "What do you think they'll have for desert? Kittsa made a brilliant cheesecake, I wonder if they'll have cheesecake." She took another bite of shepherds pie, then roped herself to some carrots and peas. "I hope I have enough energy to write to mother after this!"
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

A hectic ride, it sure had been, much more hectic than even the last one when he was first appointed as a prefect. And now, as he could see clearly, all firsties were sorted and sitting at his table... great...
Daichi walked with slow steps towards his new house table. During the sorting he had been scared that old hat would have ask tons of impossible questions. He even accepted the fact he had to do an three hour test .... a three hour sorting test which became more like three seconds.
Lost in his thoughts , Daichi couldn't help but feel joy now he was walking over the the Snake table. It was the house he had hoped to get in to , and now he is! But , you see, there was one thing that kept him from jumping up and down in celebration. He was being lied to. Daichi did not like being lied to and what is worse.. he was being lied to by their Prefect.
Because he had said that the sorting test would last three hours with difficult questions and even spells , Daichi had read and read and read in the school books, he wanted to practise the spells but couldn't because he wasn't off age, far from yet. Not to mention the nights he had nightmares about people laughing at him and calling him stupid for not knowing a question and he even had woken up a few times with the result he couldn't sleep anymore. Daichi held Mr.Duckels , his plushed ducky against his chest as he thought how "The Liar" was called again. The Prefect he had looked up to in Diagon Alley so much? Carto? ..no .. Carwrite? ..no that wasn't it either, it didn't matter , Daichi knew his *Title* at Hogwarts. He took a deep breath and shouted throughout the Hall as hard as his soft voice would let him.
"Prefeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeect!?!?!!!"
Daichi looked up and down the Snake table, trying to find that Liar.
Finally spotting him while saying hi's to old and new students. He admired how relaxed the prefect was with them..no , no that wasn't why he was here now.
Daichi walked over to the seventh year with how big his legs would make his steps. "Yaaa! Why'd you do that?!" he questioned grabbing his robe with his right hand, his other had still Mr.Duckels in it. He had wanted to grab the collar but he couldn't reach for it. Daichi shook the robe violently and pouted hard. "Why did you lie to me?! you .. you LIAR!" He was hurt, yes he was.

"I think I'll pass dessert." Mordred said. "There's still breakfast tomorrow." he said as he chewed the last piece of steak on his plate. He neatly placed his fork and knife together signifying that he was done eating. "That was really good." he said as he drank again from his goblet.
"Is it true that Lord Borr will be teaching DADA?" he asked Aurora wiping his mouth. "He's also the new Minister, according to the Daily Prophet."

"How are you Cass?" William asked her. " I really believe you should play guitar professionally" William told Cass. " I hope to hear you play your guitar a lot at and around HogWarts" William said to Cass.
Cass turned when she heard someone address her and was surprised that it was William...again. Was this kid stalking her or something??
"Oh, hello William." Cass said with a polite nod towards the boy "Have you been sorted yet?" She had hoped that he wouldn't be sorted into Slytherin. Please.
Then she smiled as she shook her head "Thank you. But no." It wasn't that she didn't dream of being a rockstar too once in a while, but it just doesn't seem like a career that a girl like her would chase after. "I prefer something more....mysterious." Maybe something that would involve spell work. Lots of it.

There stood a little Gryffindor girl who had just been Sorted. Elle scrutinized her from head to toe. "Why do you have my book?" she snapped. "Stole it, perhaps?" she folded her arms.
Then Cass watched as Elle stood up and confronted the young Gryffindor with amusement until the young red head came back with said book.
"So, what was all that about?" She asked after giving the girl a bit of time to cool off.
