Welcome to Professor Gemma Cerulean's Office!

Feel free to come in and have a seat! Make yourself at home. Professor Cerulean loves meeting new people!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Once the Professor has let you into her domain, you walk into a very peaceful room. The office is full of light and full of color. The walls are painted a light shade of blue. The room has been charmed to make you instantly feel at ease as you cross over the threshold.

SPOILER!!: Office, just with light blue walls

Everything is very welcoming in the room. She has two white soft couches along a wall set up in a conversation area. In the center of that area, is a dark blue rug with a conversation table in the middle.

She also has the usual desk and two chairs in front of the desk. These chairs are also white and very inviting looking.

This gives you two areas to choose from to speak with the Professor. She doesn't mind sitting in either area, so feel free to choose.

Along one of the walls is a gigormous book shelf full of history books both magic and muggle. They all have very tattered and used spines indicating that they have been thoroughly read. Along the adjacent wall, you can find moving pictures of Gemma and her family at various locations around the world.

There are only two pictures on her desk. There is one of her as a young child with her, now missing/presumed dead, brother. The other is of Gemma in Egypt on an archeological dig.

Ariadne smiled at the Professor and greeted her politely, but in a very confident tone, fit for a Gryffindor. 'Hello, Professor Cerulean, thank you. Wow, I never imagined an office at Hogwarts could be so stylish.' the child gasped when she followed the woman into her office.

'I hope you're not busy, I wouldn't want to disturb you. I don't have any important issues, I just wanted to meet you and ask you about the topics we'd be covering this term, because I love history very much.' the girl explained. 'Luckily, Hogwarts is full of history, I love talking to the ghosts or portraits, they have seen so much over the past centuries.' Ariadne added, full of enthusiasm. She then worried her chatter was impolite, so she stopped talking alltogether.

Dallin looked around the room as he walked into it, sort of surprised at how modern and stylish was. Those things weren't usually found at Hogwarts, that he knew of. He nodded to himself in approval as he plopped down on one of the white couches, listening to the other girl blabber about history and ghosts and whatnot. When she was finished, DAl spoke up.

"I'm not really here for any other reason to introduce myself, really. And talk I guess, if you have time and want to." He looked around the room again, his brain registering all the blue. "I'm Dallin McKinley. You weren't in Ravenclaw by any chance, were you?" It was just an assumption of course, but Dal thought it'd be cool if she had been in his house when she went to school.

Gemma motioned the two students into her office and then towards the comfy sitting area. She was so excited to have her first students in her office. She propped open the office door so it would feel a little bit more open.

As she sat down, a tray of drinks and cauldron cakes flew over to the coffee table between the couches and she motioned for the two students to have a seat.

She smiled at the girl as she talked about history and ghosts and then with a smile said, "Well thank you for your compliment of my office. I figured that Hgowarts needed a little modern touch and style mixed in with all of the dark corners." she said with a little nod and a wink. Then she quickly realized she hadn't formally introduced herself to the students.

She held out her hand to each student and said, "Thank you so much for stopping by. I'm very excited to get the term going. I'm Professor Gemma Cerulean." she said with her sweet smile and soft voice.

She focused back on the girl's comments from earlier. "Well I'm very excited to get started with classes. I'm hoping to start with just simple Hogwarts history and then hopefully cover some history dealing with the mysterious ship that has appeared at the lake and then go from there..." she paused thinking about her upcoming class. "I'm hoping to make the lessons a little bit more fun and interactive, since I've heard they've been very much lecture based in the past." she said with a little nod up and down.

Gemma then turned towards the young man who had waited very patiently and politely for a break in the conversation. She was very happy to meet someone with manners at that age. "It is nice to meet you Dal. I'm just so happy that you stopped by..." her smile beamed with pride when he mentioned Ravvie, "Well, yes I was a proud Ravenclaw when I attended Hogwarts way back when! And I continue to be a proud Eagle to this day..." she said suddenly realizing that the young man was in Ravvie robes.

Daisy knocked at the door of Professor Cerulean's office. She didn't have many questions about History of Magic, and was really looking forward to it, but wanted to meet the teacher first. The only two teachers she had met were Shaw and Lafay, and they had not been exactly as Daisy had expected. Daisy was really looking forward to History of Magic, and did not want a teacher that yelled at her or used a chainsaw to write his name on the board...
'Hi, I'm Daisy,' Daisy smiled nervously, 'I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm really looking forward to history of magic, and wanted to know who the teacher was.' she explained, thinking, that hopefully Professor Cerulean was as sane as she looked...

The Professor was startled as someone was knocking on her door and walking in. She debating making a comment about always knocking and waiting to be acknowledged before coming into the office, but she decided that wouldn't be the best first impression and plus the girl looked young.

Gemma stood up and walked towards the door and met the young lady with a smile and extended her hand out, "Hello Daisy, it's a pleasure to meet you." she paused and glanced over her shoulder checking on the other two students and then continued, "If you have time, you should come have a seat with us and chat for a little bit." she said turning and motioning towards the couches.

Daisy shook the Professors hand and smiled silently.
'I would love to come and chat,' she said polietly, looking into the office. 'Wow! It's nice in here,' she said, looking round at the extremely modern office. 'I didn't know you could get the inside of castles to look like this!' she said, amazed that Hogwarts held a Room, so, well - normal. 'It's really awesome in here!' she added, wishing her common room was a bit more like this office...

Ariadne was taking in her surroundings while following the Professor to the sitting area. After she had sat down, the girl noticed the cauldron cakes which had appeared on the table in front of her. Why did she have to have such a sweet tooth? On the other hand, the cakes were there to be eaten right? Looking around sheepishly, the firstie took one and began eating.

'It is a surprise, but it's interesting how tradition can blend with modernity without resulting in a disaster.' the Gryffindor commented. When Professor Cerulean held her hand, Ari shook it and introduced herself as well: ' Professor, I am Ariadne Marchbanks, first year Gryffindor.'

'I can't wait for our first class.' Ariadne said sincerely. 'Hogwarts history sounds great, I just read some books on it this summer. And I'm very curious about the ship!' she nodded franatically. It seemed like it was going to be an interesting year. 'I don't know how lessons were in the previous years, but I'm clearly looking forward to them now.'

It seemed like the girl really liked history. But at least they were going to talk about the ship that popped up in the lake, which was cool.

"I'm a Ravenclaw too!" He said, grinning, even though she could have just looked at his robes to see that. "Fifth year." Nod.

And you are actually the first fellow Eagle that I have met and I must admit that I am very proud and impressed by your manners." she said with a little friendly wink. "Do you play Quidditch or Gobstones?" she asked the young man as she reached for a cauldron cake from the tray.

The Professor glanced at the young girl with surprise. She had never met a first year that spoke like this one. It actually made Gemma a little bit nervous because most first years didn't speak so eloquently. "Well it is nice to meet you Ariadne." she said the name slowly to make sure she pronounced it correctly. "Such an unusual name, is it a family name?" she asked interested in the story behind it.

'So Ariadne is my first name. It's Greek, actually, my mum read a lot of mythology. I don't remember the story, though.' she explained. 'But most people call me just Ari, anyway.' she added.

Cassie stepped into Professor Gemma's office and her mouth fell open slightly. She had never been into a professor's office and it looked this nice. She turned to the professor and beamed brightly.

"Professor I think you're my new favourite!" She looked around again then shook her head."NO I know that you're my new favourite." She plopped into a chair and looked around." I just wanted to come in and say hi and welcome to Hogwarts...well welcome back to Hogwarts."

Dallins eyesbrows raised, he couldn't help it. It wasn't often that an adult complimented his manners. They usually complained about how he talked a lot and couldn't sit still for very long. Where were his parents now, when a professor was telling him he had good manners?

"Well, I'm glad, Professor," he said with a smile. "It's nice to, uh, be able to represent something so nicely." Okay so he was sort of sucking up, but it wasn't obvious was it? "To be honest, when I started here I didn't think Ravenclaw was my kind of house. I still can't believe it sometimes. But it's cool, because there are - and have been - some amazing people in Ravenclaw."

Now that he was doing with the 'good boy, good student' act... "I play Quidditch for fun. I signed up for tryouts this year, though. We'll see how that goes..." He laughed a little, shrugging one shoulder. "And I've never played Gobstones. It wasn't really popular at my old school."

She smiled at the Ravenclaw...nice...well that's now how she would describe Ravenclaw...maybe amazing...but as a professor she wasn't allowed to show that much favoritism so she just kept that to herself. "I have to admit that I thought the same thing when I was sorted...I always saw myself more as a Gryffindor, but I'm telling you the Sorting Hat knows what it's doing and it always puts you where you are needed and where you truly belong. " she said taking another bit of the cauldron cake in front of her. "Well, I hope to meet some of these 'amazing' people in Ravenclaw! i may need to sneak out to Quidditch tryouts and try to meet some of the students in my alma mater house..." she said making a mental note to find out when tryouts where...maybe she could make then blue drinks for during their breaks...yes yes yes...she would do that.

Old School? hmmm interesting. "Really now where did you transfer from? And how long have been here at Hogwarts?

Cassie smiled at the professor and accepted the cauldron cake. She loved those, they weren't too sweet and we'rent too soft either."You're welcome professor Gemma." After settling comfortable in one of the fashionable chairs that the professor had in her office and finishing her cauldron cake she turned her attention back to her History of Magic professor.

"I think that was the most exciting class I have been to since classes started. It certainly gives up another perspective on HoM. I mean...it's not as boring."

She grinned. "I'm kinda looking forward to the next history of magic class and trust me students don't say that stuff everyday."

Which was why Cassie just had to come and see the professor to see if she was just as awesome outside of the classroom as well.

Simon was glad the Professor hadn't recognised him, now hopefully Fallon didn't but if she did then he was going to be in serious trouble, smiling he walked into the Professor office and took a seat, hoping the Professor wouldn't realise he was a hufflepuff in a Ravenclaw uniform because if she did what would happen.

"Professor I just want to say before I start with the reason I came here, your lesson was great." Simon smiled hoping the Professor would know he was friendly.

With a slight nod of her head, she smiled at them both and said in her sweet voice, "Well hello, I'm Professor Cerulean...please please please come in and have a seat..." she said motioning towards the couches in her office. She figured she probably looked like the White Queen in the Alice in Wonderland movie all awkward and weird so she dropped her hands to her side and followed the students in.

OOC: come in and post in her office!! *huggles you both*

Fallon looked up from the fashion magazine as the Professor came out of her office. She seemed WAY too cheerful. WAY too cheerful. Oh well. Fallon had made the decision to come here herself. It wasn't like anyone was forcing her to do so. She set the magazine down on the table, even though she knew that she could take it if she wanted to. She could always get one some other time.

Fallon walked into the Professor's office and instantly felt better. She forgot about all of the problems that she had been having in school and with friends. It was kind of nice. She took a seat in one of the chairs and waited for the professor to take a seat.

Gemma sat down across from the girl and flicked her wand and instantly a glass came and sat down in front of the young girl on the table between them. "Would you like a drink?" she asked with a smile.

Then she went on, "So, Ms....?" she let it dwindle off as a question..."what brings you to this part of the castle?" she asked as she refilled her glass of lemonade and took a drink.

"Professor I just want to say before I start with the reason I came here, your lesson was great." Simon smiled hoping the Professor would know he was friendly.

The young professor cocked her eyebrow at the boy...yes he was def familiar to her but she just couldn't figure it out. "Well thank you. I'm very glad that you liked it. I've already started working on the next one and I hope it will live up to your standards as well..." she paused and thought about the students in her first lesson. "I don't remember you sitting at the blue table..." she said with a smile.

Gemma smiled at the young girl...what manners...."Well thank you! I'm very glad that so many people liked it and I hope you learned something from it." she paused and nodded her head slightly up and down. "I hope none of my lessons are boring, but sadly, sometimes history just...well..is..." she said with a little shrug of her shoulders.

"Now Ms. Storm, please tell me something interesting about yourself..." she said before taking another drink. She was so excited to get to know the students.

The professor smiled at the girl trying to keep from laughing, "Well I sincerely hope I don't let any of you down...I'm hoping to do a lesson over Pirates!" she said excitedly letting her eyebrows cock up and eyes get big.

Fallon smiled at the professor made a glass appear in front of her. She was very tempted to ask for some coffee, but she had a feeling that that probably wasn't the best idea. "Um...sure. Pumpkin juice?" That was really the next best thing.

Fallon chuckled lightly as the professor misplaced her name. "McCarthy. Fallon McCarthy." Wow. That was a weird way to say her name..."I was just coming to tell you that I really enjoyed the homework assignment you set. It really allowed me to use my creativity." It was an awesome assignment.

Fallon then eyed the boy in the Ravenclaw robes that had come in at the same time as her. He had a strange resemblance to Simon...omigosh! It was Simon. Fallon kept her mouth shut though. She wanted to see what he was up to.

Simon looked at the Professor. "I was sat next too you at one point, surely you remember me." Simon smiled, forgetting he was in the Ravenclaw uniform, he smiled at Fallon, he was glad she hadn't recognised him because he would be in trouble if she had said his name. "Surely you remember me I asked if I could sit next too you." Simon jumped up and hugged the Professor. "Please say you remember me."

Gemma instantly realized who she was talking to...it was the Huffie boy that was a hand full...she liked him because he had a good sense of humor but yes he was a handful...she looked at his robes with her left eyebrow cocked and then jumped a little bit as the boy hugged her....again...

She giggled a little bit and with a smile said, "O how could I forget you Mr. De Simpson..." she said with a little friendly wink...she glanced at his new blue robes suspiciously and debated in her head if she should ask...she knew as a professor she should ask, but as someone that sadly enjoyed his antics she really didn't want to know...o how she wished she was the grown up right now...with a smile and tsk tsk...but playful...tone she asked, "Well now, I must ask...what's with the new colors?" she said pointing at the Ravvie emblem on his chest.

The young professor smiled at the young girl. Her introduction had reminded her of the Muggle secret agent James Bond. She tried not to smile too big because she was afraid if she had to explain it the girl might look at her like she had lost her mind. She pushed the thought of the cutey patootie secret agent to the back of her mind and smiled at the young girl. "O yes Ms. McCarthy..." she said reassuringly and then continued, "And thank you for the compliment on the homework assignment...I thought that might be something different..." she paused and then continued, "I heard last year's assignments were all composition and speeches..." she said with distaste in her voice...no wonder these students didn't like HOM...it had been odd and boring most of the time.

She thought for a moment and then said, "As I remember you did very well on the homework...got top marks?" she said with a little wink as she thought about the girl's house, "O yes you did the caring house that you referred to as the hippie house...I rather enjoyed your house and your thinking...and a great crest at that..." she said knowing that when she was in school she would've killed for a professor to praise her work.

Simon smiled at the Professor as he continued to hug her. "I'm glad you remember me Professor." Simon would have been sad if she didn't and even though he was trying to hug all the Professor before the end of the term he ment everything he put into this hug because a normal Professor would be yelling at him right now.

Simon stopped hugging the Professor and sat down. "Well I lost 50 points and I know once Treyen finds out I'll be in trouble and he'd be having a word with me about it and all I did was try and give Professor Vindictus a walking stick as a Present." Yeah Vindictus was ancient, so ancient he had been around when the dinosaurs were alive. "So I swapped robes with a Ravenclaw hoping Treyen wouldn't recognise me." Simon laughed, hopefully he wouldn't be in too much trouble.
