Broom Games When Wednesday, 15 JUN @ 4pm EST to Friday, 17 JUN @ 11pm EST Who Can Attend Hogwarts students of all ages are welcome to attend What to Bring Broomstick School broomsticks will be provided for First Years and for those who do not own their own broomsticks. Everything for the second flying lesson of the term was in place but certain pieces of equipment were currently hidden from curious eyes. Only Professor Vindictus knew what game they were going to learn today. He leaned against the broom rack and took off the pirate hat (which he thought was pretty cool to wear) while waiting for students to arrive. |
Wandering over to the Professor, Thea raised her eyebrows slightly. Oh wow, the guy had been wearing a pirate hat. Yes. She had spotted it. Crossing her arms she stood a little way from him. Would he go all loopy on them again? 'Hello Professor!' She called brightly. Should she be afraid?.. |
Penny arrived onto the pitch for the second lesson...wondering what they would be doing.."Uhm..Broom Games?" she thought... then seeing the professor, greeted him "Good day Professor" with a smile.. |
Vindictus waved at Thea and Penny. "Welcome and have a seat on the grass, Thea and Penny. The others should be arriving soon," he said rather cheerfully. |
She wasn't really fond of the weather at the moment, however, hearing that the next flying lesson was going to be dealing with broom games, she decided to attend anyhow. If it was one of those ancient games that are rarely played anymore, than this was going to be rather interesting. "Good day, Professor Vindictus." she greeted, eying the hat. Actually, if this had to do with pirates...she was leaving. Or at least think about leaving. |
Thea's lips twitched slightly. At least he was in a good mood today.. Smiling at the girl he had called Penny, Thea took a seat on the soft grass wrapping her robes around her. She rolled her eyes. Broom games? Oh sweet lord.. this was so not going to end well! Let's hope someone here knew how to cast a quick cushioning charm when needed.. or she was screwed. |
When Rebecca got to where flying class was being held, she was surprised to see that there was barely anyone there. She looked around and saw the professor leaning against the rack that held the broom she was to use today. But there was something odd about something with him. She noticed that he was holding a pirate hat, which Rebecca thought was really cool of him to have. She decided that she should at least saw hello to the professor, so she did. "Hello Professor Vindictus, she said smiling a little. "How are you today? Nice pirate hat you have there. I like it!" |
Yay! Flying lesson! After discovering she was really pretty good at flying, and discovering that she really liked it, Kannalynne was actually pretty excited for the lesson. Seeing the other students sitting, she, herself, claimed a patch of grass and folded herself neatly on the ground. "Good day, sir!", she greeted the Professor. It WAS a good day, after all. |
Jacob walked onto the pitch, his eyes surveyed each person who had already arrived. He had things to talk to Vindictus about, but class time was no time to be talking about his career. Jacob's feet gave in from his own weight, and fell into a sitting position on the ground. he gave Vindictus a quick nob. Why was he here again? The only reason he could think of coming to a lesson on Broom Games was to get in some real flying before the match... he had to worry about his teams strategy all the time, he could never get in any actual plays for himself. And Jacob was sure that Simon may be here too, they always seemed to think alike when it came to Quidditch. So there was no doubt in Jacobs mind that this had crossed Simon's mind as well. |

Penny looked at the Professor when he spoke, then looked at the snow-covered grass he had suggested they sit on.... thinking that she would rather stand.... Took off her outer cloak and laid in on the snow, and sat down waiting for the rest of the class to arrive.. |
Conan was here, because he wanted to meet the flying guy. And here he was. Wearing an odd pirate hat. Conan frowned. What an odd look. "Hello Sir." |
Simon strolled out onto the pitch for lessons, the broom he had been given by Mina grasped in his hand as he made his way to the gathering group. After what had happened at the first flying class, he had decided he should at least check out the latest one. At the very least he had an opportunity to try out the newer broom, having been using the other for practices. "Good day professor," he greeted simply and politely with a nod as he came near Vindictus. He caught a glimpse of the others gathered and couldn't help noticing Jacob already there. The Gryffindor was reminded briefly of his last encounter there and wondered what was to happen this time as he took a seat off to one side on the grass. |
Nika walked around until she found the area for flying lessons. You'd think now that she's a second year she'd know her way around this place! Nika really didn't want to be here. After finding out in first year that she couldn't ride a broom to save her life it wasn't comforting to get on one again. She didn't have her own broom, nor did she ever plan on buying one at this rate. She looked around and saw Vindictus and ah... with that bloody pirate hat again. "Hiya Professor." 'Does he really even count as a professor? All he does is make us get on brooms.' |
Vindictus nodded to those students who addressed him and then clapped his hands together. "Okay! It's fantastic to see so many enthusiastic faces, so let's get this lesson started!" he exclaimed with much gusto. "I know that many of you are familiar with the sport of Quidditch and I think we'll begin by discussing it. Who can tell me how many members are on a team? Include the names of the positions and how many players play each spot when giving your answer." He smiled at the class. It was an easy question, and he was prepared to be inundated with answers. |
Oh oh oh. Conan knew one of the answers. "Seeker. There are 2 of them. Annnnnd they catch a snitch," he said enthusiastically. It was the only one he knew. |
Broomstick games were the BEST. And Ellie loved the lessons involving them. Not to mention the Quidditch part. She KNEW stuff. This was why she loved Flying. She felt oh-so-very SMART. "Seven on a team. A Seeker, a Keeper, two Beaters, and three Chasers." Smartness. |
There was Professor Vindictus and his hat again. He didn't look or act anything like his Head of House, maybe Simon was right, maybe the Professor was getting a little too old for this profession. Eino raised his hand "One seeker, one keeper, three Chasers, and two beaters. So that's," He paused to think, "One plus one plus three plus two," he counted on his fingers "Seven total members!" |
Enthusiastic?! Nika wasn't enthusiastic for the lesson... she was just naturally an enthusiastic person. Now what was that about Quidditch? Well Nika had flat out no idea. "There is a keeper?" That's all she knew. Okay so Samira had tried to teach her last term, but that turned out a fail. WAIT! Vindictus where is this going!? Are they going to play Quidditch!? Well he's going to regret sending Nika up there in the sky to do it. |

How easy could this get! Sierra sat up a little taller and raised her hand into the air. Now this was something she knew a lot about. She loved the fact that she was in a class where she didn't need to use a textbook or make a wild guess just to answer a question. "There's seven people to a team," she said, lowering her hand. "One seeker, one keeper, three chasers, and two beaters." |
Jacob felt a presence near him that seemed to hit him more than the others... without even turning his head he knew that Bennett had arrived. He could just feel it. And when he turned his head, his eyes started at the boy, keeping himself void of any expressions. But Vindictus had decided to start the lesson. Oh For goodness sake, they were really doing this? Almost everyone knew Quidditch, he'd thought they were going to play stichstock, or something. But this was alright... he supposed. "There are seven players on each team, fourteen total in a match. There's three chasers, two beaters, one keeper, and one seeker." he lowered his hand. "There should also be at least one reserve on the side, in case there is a need for injury based substitutions during a match" |
Thea frowned slightly, flipping her fingers down as she counted. 'Um.. one Keeper, three Chasers, two Beaters and one Seeker..' She paused. 'So that's seven players on a team.' She raised her eyebrows, slightly suprised he had started with such a simple question. |
Simon met Jacob's gaze as the Ravenclaw glanced towards him even for a moment. Both their attentions were then caught as Vindictus chose that moment to begin class. And with a simple enough question to answer and he could have but the quidditch captain opted to stay quiet. He certainly didn't need to prove that he knew what he did especially as Jacob had expanded upon the other students' answers to a point where there was nothing else to really say about it. Besides...it was the other students that needed to learn for the most part. |
Spike knew this. Grin. He waved his hand in the air excitedly. "There's sevennnn. Three chasers, two beaters, a keeper and a seeker." Sure, he knew others had answered before him. But Spike wanted to say something whilst he actually knew the answers. Before it got difficult, and his brain hurt. |
Profeesor, there are two seekers" Wiliam told him. There are three chasers on each team" William said to the professor. " Two beaters on each time and one keeper on each teams" William explained to the professor. So 2 plus 6 plus 4 plus 2 equals 12 for both teams" William smiled. |
Isabelle looked at the prof. 'Seven members Sir. A keeper, a seeker, two beaters, and three chasers per team. Isa loved Quidditch she hoped they qould play some. |
