Raising a brow, Evelyn stared at Destiny. Stare.

The girl would rather try and tame a Peruvian Vipertooth dragon then to blackmail Lafay. Good Merlin, she didn't have or even want THAT sort of death wish!

"Yea, well...good luck with that one." she muttered, taking a few steps into the broomshed before glancing over to Marie. What? She was sitting down!? Pfft, Evelyn wasn't going to get anything for Destiny, and she wasn't going to get anything for Marie. Now, speaking of getting something...what was Destiny talking about?

Yea. Definitely. She was not going to be grabbing one for Marie.

In fact, it was near spiderwebs, so she could barely get one herself. With a quick 'accio' however, her little problem about getting near spiderwebs was solved! Only to lead to a bigger problem. Oh crud. Yea, you could literally SEE the eye roll the Slytherin gave before... OOMPH! Heavy...thing...

Gasp. DYYIIINNNG from lack of oxygen! Eh, at least she got the item though.

Pffft!

She didn't even bother to turn around and look at Marie. What made HER so special where she couldn't get her own thing? She was just lucky Destiny was still in a good mood from when that marshmallow stuffing vuvuzela boy called her a GENIUS. And the fact that she had two hands. That was helpful as well.

And no, she didn't bother turning around to Evelyn when she started her staring.

There was no need to look, Destiny could feel the eyes on her. Shrugging at the 'good luck' comment, she picked up two items, one for Marie and one for herself when..

WHOOOOOSH!

One of the things flew by her, almost knocking her unconscious. Not really, but still. It COULD have hit her. She just didn't get along well with those things. Still smiling despite her near death experience, she made her way out of the broomshed and handed one of the things to Marie. "You're lucky I am nice." Unlike Evelyn over there. Who looked like a fish out of water.

They should have thrown her in the lake, too.

BWAHA!

Marie sat there waiting for Destiny and Evelyn to come out of the shed... hopefully alive. She could only imagine what Vinny would do to them if he caught them in there snooping around. Which is why she stayed outside... where it was safe, and waited.

Waiting...

Still waiting...

Waited some more...

She was just beginning to think that maybe she better go check on them, just in case Vinny did get them when Destiny came out first... and she had two items with her. Hehe, she knew one of them would come through for her.

Raising an eyebrow at Destiny as she handed her the item she grinned at her. "And you're lucky I cleaned Ev off back at the owlery or you probably wouldn't be standing here right now." She took the item and stuck it in her bag.

Standing up she looked back over at the shed. "What's she doing in there, camping out or what?" They didn't have time for pokiness here, they still had two mire items to find.

"Come on Ev. We're losing time here." This hunt had already taken longer than she expected it to. She didn't want to be spending all night on it too. She had places to go... people to see. Which is why she was heading away from the broomshed, without waiting on her friends.

Eight down, two to go.

Taking a step back to give Destiny some room as she left the broomshed, Evelyn stood quite still for a moment, mouth opening and closing a few times as she stared at the door.

Ow?

This was the second time the air had been knocked from her lungs, and it wasn't any better this time around then it was the first. The only difference was she got her breath back faster then the accident on the quidditch field. And it came back bearing gifts! A nice, brand new, scowl on her face. Pfft. She'd like to see Marie hurry up when she was gasping for air. PFFFT. "I'm coming." she got out, still a little winded, but altogether, fine.

Shutting the broomshed's door behind her, Evelyn stuffed the object into her bag before looking around. Now where to go? "Perhaps we should loop around the grounds before heading over to the greenhouses last?" Excluding the lake area of course. They've already been there.

HA!

Destiny had a genius idea. She should have grabbed all three items and then she could have shown off her awesome juggling skills. The same juggling skills that she did not possess. But how was she ever going to learn how if she didn't practice?

Exactly.

"It was only a little bit of bird poo. She acts like she has to wash her own clothes." And Destiny would not have said that if Evelyn was standing beside her. No way. Glancing back towards the broomshed, she gave a shrug of her shoulder. "Last time I seen her," Which was only about ten seconds ago, "she was pretending to be a fish." Maybe she was thirsty. She didn't even think of that. Just about to head back inside, Evelyn came out and..she must have gotten a drink because she didn't look like a fish anymore.

THEY WERE LOSING TIME!

"Don't you think we should go back and find the time we lost?" Sweet Merlin! It could be anywhere! It could be back at the lake with Rex! GAH! Slinging her bag over her shoulder, Destiny started to walk to who knows where, her eyes glued to the ground. "What does time look like anyway?" Hmm..

Or you know...they could just follow Marie.

Blink.

..."What are you talking about?" she asked, shaking her head at Destiny as she moved past the girl to follow Marie. What did time look like? Well...actually...what did time look like?

Shaking the thought from her mind, Evelyn continued after Marie, adjusting the bag over her shoulder while she did so. Ugh, this scavenger hunt was taking forever. It was always the last few items that took the most time! Or it was mostly because they were the last few items so she just wanted everything to hurry up which made it SEEM like it was taking forever. EH!

Was Evelyn NOT paying attention to anything she was saying? Obviously not, or else she wouldn't have asked.

Moving her eyes off the ground, Destiny stared at her friend for a moment. Just staring.

Stare, stare, stare.

"I was talking about time. The time that we have obviously lost. It would probably be easier to find if I knew what it looked like."

Merlin.

She felt like a Professor, having to explain what she was talking about. No wonder Lawson was balding, she felt like ripping her own hair out. The stress of this scavenger hunt was getting to her!

She wanted to talk to him? Hmm... Yes, what she had said did exactly sound like that. Well...then...that was something new so what could be its reason? Actually he had a few reasons in mind but they definitely did not fit to the attitude she mostly kept towards him during most of the term so it must have been something different. Something he possibly could not think of or figure out just by looking at her. He needed to wait for her first word to see how this was going to be to him or to them.

''Is there something wrong?'' he asked as he walked in this place where school brooms rested. Had he done something wrong? And now the not-so-good ones invading his mind, the Gryffindor boy's head was full of a millions of different thoughts about this. Why could not he just relax and patiently wait for her words to decide? Since when had he started to get nervous about people wanting to talk to him?

But this was not any person...this was Evelyn! So the boy did not know how to feel about it. It was slightly stressing anyway, however as he leaned against the wall the lion boy tried to look cool with it.

Oh for the love of Merlin, why did he have to choose the broomshed, hmm? When she said she needed to talk to him, she thought perhaps under a nice shady tree by the lake, or the room of requirement, but he chose...here. Where all the spiders were.

Though she could look past all of that right? If she just stared at Josh, then she wouldn't have to think about all the spiders and could concentrate on what she wanted to say. Right? Oh who was she kidding. Nothing could break her thoughts on being so close to those evil GIANT eight legged monsters.

However, she hesitantly stepped into the broomshed anyway, closing the door slowly behind her and lightly leaned against it, having no intentions of moving further into the room. "No, there's nothing wrong." she smiled, gaze flickering from spider web to spider web before landing on the Gryffindor himself. "I just...wanted to talk." Shrugging her shoulders some, she held her breath for a moment before continuing. "And perhaps apologize."

Nothing wrong.

That was good and...relieving. So the Gryffindor could take a relaxed breath and smile back. It was always nice and relaxing and happy and everything good to see her smiling anyway. Whatever was going around them, it did not matter. What was important was the fact that she was feeling good enough to smile however realising her quick and hesitant glances around, Josh had a general look of the place they were in as well. Eh. There seemed to be nothing bad or funny.

And he did not have any time to spot anything out of ordinary around anyway for what the Slytherin girl had uttered next was a...surprise! Perhaps apologize? Apologize? That made him want to say...

'Who are you and what have you done to my Rose??!!!'

But no that was stupid. There was no way anybody could fool this girl to take her place. Not in any way he knew. ''Apologize?'' so he repeated blinking at her curiously ''For what?'' Yeah, there was also the fact that he thought there was nothing she needed to apologize for.

Hmm, so it was probably now or never to apologize right? After Summer would be too late in her opinion and she'd more than likely chicken out by then. So now was a good time. Besides, she was here already and said she would apologize. "Apologize for…the way I've been acting." She said, wringing her hands behind her back.

"You didn't deserve the way I treated you for most of the year. I mean…well no, you deserved some of it but…" This was harder than she thought. Apologizing was not her strong suit, but she had to try. "I should have stopped acting like that long ago. Especially after your own apologies and..." All those classroom interruptions. Though she didn't know how to word that and make it sound sweet instead of something bad.

"I'm sorry. I'm just a...really stubborn person." Like that wasn't obvious.

Nodding slightly at almost her everyword, Josh kept listening to the she-snake in deep silence now a rather serious expression could be read on his face. She was sorry for the attitude? Obviously, she was, as she herself just had remarked it. This meant she did not hate him, she did not think he was something to avoid, she did not think he was a liar and had been acting around. Did she? She wouldn't apologize if she did, would she? That was the reasonable thing to infer from that.

However, Josh did not think she was fully right about what she had said so far. And apparently, since the time for that had come those points needed to be voiced. ''C'mon, Rose!'' so he began giving the girl another little but warm smile to relieve her ''We both very well know that i deserved everything you have done and deserve even more than that. It is me who messed things up with a stupid cause and ruined our lives. Maybe i could not stop thinking that way at that time. But i could, at least, explain you the true reason for it instead of being a total jerk.''moving his gaze to a nearby spiderweb, he ran his finger through it and, of course, there was no more remained one could call a spiderweb after that.

''What we have...well...had....was destoyed so easily by me like that. And it was something that took a long time to build like that...web. It's me who could not evaluate that and act for it. You know what? I think Hadley was right. This requires both the heart and the mind, together, and i don't have the mind part. Apparently. I have seen signs of that like...everywhere and they made me realise it...finally. I know its too late for that and what i have done so far considering as good things have probably annoyed you more''*deep sigh* ''But i don't know what to do about it or if there's anything to do about it. I just know that i have been feeling so guilty that it became so painful and even not letting me sleep''

Meep! Yes, Rose was her, but why the need for raised voices? Vinny could have heard him, and she didn't want him to suddenly bust in here thinking they were stealing brooms.

On the other hand, her attention was moved away from the flying instructor and back to the Gryffindor as he spoke. She would have opened her mouth to argue back on what he was saying, since she didn't think he was right, however, she found that she could do nothing at the moment but standing quietly, leaning a bit more heavily onto the door then she was before.

Cringing slightly as he touched a spiderweb and destroyed it, her eyes looked elsewhere, not wanting to see anymore of that, yet she still kept her ears open to what he was saying. Heart and mind? Yes, she remembered what Hadley had said, and had thought she was right then as much as she thought the Professor was right right now. Yet talk of pain and not sleeping had her gaze snapping back to Josh faster then a snitch could fly. Everything he had done, inside and out of the classroom, to try and gain her favor came rushing back to her thoughts.

Letting out a quiet, long breath, her gaze traveled down to the ground as her foot made random small designs on the ground that could not be seen. "Perhaps you were missing the mind part?" she said uncertainly in such a quiet voice, she began to wonder if she should repeat what she said a bit louder. "And...I was missing...the heart part." Closing off your heart to everything could definitely be described as missing it, though admitting she was doing that was as hard as apologizing. Things dealing with the heart were so complicated...it was easier to just be logical about everything.

"Perhaps, we're like a puzzle." Shrugging her shoulders just the slightest again, her voice grew even more quiet as she continued with the designs on the ground. "One piece can't fit without the other. And once they are, it is easier to see the big picture and won't be as...confusing."

Yes, obviously and completely he was missing the mind part though many people he was related to were full of it. It was weird, when he thought over it, that how different he was than the rest of his family as if the lion boy had been taken from a different place of a different culture and put into a random family. Coming back to the missing a mind case, now Evelyn repeating it, he was sure that this was what he suffered from. The signs were obvious as well. Like that exclamation mark image in divination he had in his cup meaning a warning about impulsive acts, like that aritmancy numbers saying that he lacked wisdom and reason/logic plus other stuff just like that. Did he need more proof? Of course not.

However when the Slytherin girl said she lacked the heart part, Josh immediately forgot about himself and focused on what she was saying instead. Missed heart? No, he did not think so. That was just not true. Therefore he was about to disagree and argue back yet he closed his opened mouth as she went on his serious expression easing off some ''So, you think what we have would complete and fit each other then we would be fine and happy together?'' YES! That should be it! This was genius and he admired the girl for finding it out. Yet... ''But is there even anything left as 'we', Rose? I really did try hard to mend it but all i got was failure everytime i did so. Do you think it could be like how it was in the past again?''

Nodding ever so slightly, a small smile flickered across her lips before disappearing once more. For the most part, that was exactly what she was saying. It seemed to her that they were better off together then they are apart, and she really couldn't continue acting that way towards him. It wasn't right. It didn't feel right.

She had been expecting such a question from him like that; if they could be like they were in the past. Sucking in a short breath, she held it for a moment, her eyes turning their attention to Josh instead of the ground as all invisible designs were forgotten. "I know, you tried very hard..." Yet, there was that stubbornness about her that she both loved and hated.

"And...I...I don't know." She was not a seer nor was she any decent in divination, mostly because she found the subject pointless, but she could not see the future. Things change as time goes by. Who knows what could happen. With the butterflies finally making their appearance in her stomach, the Slytherin girl crossed her arms, in the way that she does to help make herself feel a bit more comfortable and secure. "But, I'd like to try. To give it a chance...?"

Ohh deep breathes.

Waiting for the answer to his very important question, Josh looked into the hazel eyes of the Slytherin girl as seconds felt like hours for the answer that was about to come was crucial for him since it was going to give him a clue about if he was going to be able to be happy again or just continue to live an emotionally wrecked life or just a wrecked life.

Then the answer had come. Ah? She did not know. Nodding in understanding the boy quickly stared down at the ground to hide the look of disappointment in his eyes. She had not said 'no' but that was not a 'yes' either. She was not sure. And it was very reasonable that she felt like that after what he had done, after those lies he had told her which he was very ashamed of, after all the heartbreaking and disappointment he caused. That was his punishment so he had to accept it and...huh?

Had she just said she wanted to TRY and give it A CHANCE?

Looking back at her face again, Josh felt like something that was heavily weighing down and hurting his heart had lost half of its strenght and almost let him free himself from all the...darkness. A chance! That was exactly what he had been looking for for months! Only a chance, one chance, nothing more. So this immediately illuminated his previously disappointed face and he could not help but smile so gladly and gratefully at her. Yet 'try'? Not 'try', he was determined to make sure that she would not be feeling down ever again.

''I...'' taking a breath he smiled again ''...i...'' he wanted to speak but his heart beating fast and the fact that he could not stop smiling like a fool kinda prevented it. 'Calm down! Calm down and breathe!' *breathe* Once he had composed himself and was the illustrious Josh Carter again, he stepped closer to her and took her hand then kneeling before her the boy gazed into her beautiful hazel eyes again.

''I do swear on everything that has a meaning to me, Rose, that i am really very regretful and ashamed of what i have done. I swear it was my principle never to lie to you and i had a great difficulty with it when i did it at that time. It made me hate myself. Please forgive me! I love you...very much and that's the only reason of what i have done so far. I love you. Forgive me!''

He...what?

Taking in everything about him, his smile, how he moved, the way he breathed, for any signs that would determine what he was going to say, everything he did...she could not figure anything out. It was like there was a list sitting right in front of her, yet the words were blurry. There were too many thoughts in her head right now.

However, as he suddenly took her hand and knelt before her, which slightly made her uncomfortable, the Slytherin held her breath like she seemed to be doing a lot lately until he stopped speaking. Goodness...she had thought when she said she'd give them another chance, that it was implied that she'd forgiven him. On the other hand, she couldn't help but smile since he was in fact, asking himself. "I'll forgive you if...if you stand up." Please.

The whole kneeling thing...it just made her want to cringe.

''If i stand up?'' the Gryffindor repeated having a hard time believing how simple this request was as he blinked up at her. When she had pronounced that 'If', he had thought that request that would come after it would be something, at least, a little bit challenging in a way that should make him pay for his wrong doings so she could forgive him. But it was nothing like that, he just needed to stand up and not kneel before her. ''Ummm...okay.''

So, still gently holding her hand, he stood up and stood even closer to her not moving his gaze away from her eyes as he did so. Then since he stood up, it meant he was officially forgiven which was awesome! Yet, why was he feeling like there was still something wrong? Something which had not been sorted out yet. And this pretty much bothered the boy. Why did not she look happy as he was feeling now? Was there something else she had not or could not deal with? Or maybe something she was avoiding to tell him.

''Look into my eyes'' he said and it was clear that the serious tone was back while he spoke. ''I really don't want to drag you in something you won't feel comfortable with. You don't feel like you just have to do that just because of me, do you?'' Now this was going to sound a little bit...too direct and utterly straightforward but it needed to be said ''If you want me to stop this and leave you alone, just tell me and i promise i will. I really would do that because seeing you happy makes me happy so i'd accept any way that you are happy.'' It surely would kill him to force himself to accept a life without her presence but that was nothing compared to the tought that she would be back in a relationship with him because he had been too vocal and insistent about it.

''Now, look into my eyes and tell me if you share and feel what i feel for you. Do you?''

Good. While it was a very nice and loving gesture of him to do such a thing, Evelyn really could not stand it. Letting out a long, quiet breath as he stood up, she smiled, though not large enough to be a toothy smile, as she stared back into his eyes. That is, until her smile faded somewhat. He looked rather serious. Perhaps she said something wrong? If he was going to get upset about not kneeling then...then he could kneel back down if he wanted. Just don't be upset!

However, once he spoke, her smile was completely gone. Hmm yes, she was looking into his eyes. Is that what he thought? Mia had almost said the same thing to her, but of course, that situation was different.

"No, Josh..." she smiled, a small chuckle escaping her as she looked down to their hands. Reaching out her free hand, she wrapped it around the one she was already holding, squeezing his just the slightest. "I don't do things, or say things, because I have to most of the time." Wel not during situations like this. If it was something that had to do with a Professor requesting her to do something, then she had to do it. "I do them because I want to."

Looking back up to his eyes like he said to do, the smile started to slowly reappear again on her face. The one from before that is. At a snail crawling pace. "Well, I don't know if I'll be reciting love poems out to you in the middle of Potions class..." she started, giggling quietly as she took her hands away from his and instead placed them on his shoulders, before becoming a bit more serious. Hmm, still warm. "But I'm sure I'm pretty close to there."

Ah, the smile! And the pleasant feeling of her touch! Those two were more than enough to take all the stress and suspiciousness away from him and right combined with that answer 'No', they had completely vanished the darkness inside him. Merlin! He just could not believe how happy he was. I had better not be a dream or something. But no, no, no, no, it could not be a dream because, these days, whenever he managed to sleep for about fifteen minutes all he could encounter was nightmares, no such pleasant dreams which he doubted that would happen again from now on.

''I don't know how i can thank you for opening your heart, Rose. No thanking words would be enough for that. But thank you anyway. I promise there won't be stupid interruptions to what we have anymore.'' And when he promised, he meant it. He was sure the Slytherin girl could tell that getting to know him during those years. But it was weird how he had failed to recall the fact that she had remarked now, that she would not do anything because she had to, though he had been through the same period of time. Well...another apparent proof that his heart was missing with the mind too much these days. Hopefully she bothered to remind him those facts about her though. ''Well...that's just the girl i know and...need''

And hearing her comment about that reputed and legendary potion class interruption of a love poem, the boy laughed and shoke his head playfully ''Unfortunately you have missed your chance of that for this term. No more potions classes. Maybe you can try yourself during our sixth year.'' Or perhaps they could find something more interesting to do during a potions class till that time.''Close...'' then he repeated wrapping his arms around her waist ''I guess this is good enough'' since what he had was way above the peak so something close it practically meant the peak. ''About that poem though. It was all original. A hundred percent of my own work''

Hehehehe...

He was...thanking her?

She didn't really know how to respond to that except to...blush? No, she couldn't even do that! Or she did, but then she was confused so she didn't know what was going on in her head at the moment. Perhaps just smile? Should she say 'you're welcome'?

Seeing as she waited too long to answer, Evelyn smiled anyhow at what he said, and then she blushed. No confusion about that one.

"I don't think I have enough bravery in me to recite poetry in Lafay's class. Not to mention my poetry skills are out of practice." she confessed as he wrapped his arms around her waist. In fact, Josh may have been the only person in the whole school with enough guts to do such a thing. One of the reasons she had fallen for him in the first place. There was never a dull moment with Josh, and his bravery just made him who he is.

Hmm. His poetry wasn't bad either. "You should write more of it though." she nodded, completely serious. "It wasn't half bad and...I may have enjoyed it." Teehee, well it was great in her opinion; well of course, after a few days of sheer panic that Lafay would slip veritaserum into her drink, she realized that it was a rather sweet poem with that romantic twist to it.

Not having enough bravery? Well...did doing things concerning Lafay require much of that? Perhaps it did since the woman seemed to scare off almost everybody. To be honest she was kinda intimidating but Josh did not find her scary in any way. Anyway. Forget Lafay! There was no point in busying his mind with the Potions Mistress now when he had the pretty sight of a blushing she-snake before him.

''Bravery...well...it's not really a necessary trait, is it? Honestly, i don't have many ideas about it but i know most people think it only brings trouble'' So if she did not have enough bravery to do such a thing was nothing to be considered as a problem or flaw. In his eyes she was perfect anyway so he was also sure that if she had that so-called bravery he had, she probably could make use of it way better than he did. Did he make any use of it anyway? Not sure.

''And i neither think i have enough sense and skills of art to be a poet. It just came to me. I did not write it which is the reason i do not remember those words right now'' he laughed again and embraced her closer. ''But i hope they were good enough for you.'' Eh, they were probably good enough if she had said it might have enjoyed her.

Then just staring at her for a few moments in silence, Josh started to think of what he was going to do without her the whole summer. He had missed her like A LOT and there were very little time left to spend with her until they would be heading to seperate ways. Very little time. And very little time was surely not enough for him.

''Do you also feel like standing here like that forever?''

Hmm he had a point. Bravery brought trouble. "Not all the time though." Bravery also gave you a chance to be something or someone in this world right? If you're not brave enough to go for your dreams, then what were you? Not to mention, if Josh hadn't done all those things in the lessons, well...she didn't even know if they'd be standing right here like this right now.

Sense or skills of art to be a poet? "Poetry isn't something you really need skills for." she giggled, sliding up her arms and wrapping them gently around his neck. "Art is art. There is no correct way of doing things. Besides, practice makes perfect." Hint hint? Yes, he should definitely continue with the poetry. "I very much enjoyed it."

Taking a deep breath, though not out of nerves this time, she pretty much forgot they were in a broomshed, having been too focused on the warm Gryffindor himself. Stand here forever? "Somehow stop time..." she said, tilting her head to the side as she imagined it. "No more worries but to just be here?" Grin.

Goodness how her thoughts changed the past couple weeks.

The girl's idea of bravery not always being a trouble directly made Josh consider that idea he had accepted as fact over again. Well...actually while causing trouble, it also saved you from trouble. And sometimes to achieve good things in the world one needed to take a few risks. He took the risk of being tortured under the name of detention in the dungeons or even getting expelled. Had they led him to a good end? Seeing the current situation he could say 'yes' but there was also the fact that he was not sure if it was the result of those that she decided to forgive him. He did not know since she had come to him herself and requested to have a talk and...apologise which was unnecessary.

''Maybe you are right.'' he said admiring the hazel colour of her eyes. And as they stood closer and closer joined by her touch around his neck, the Gryffindor felt his heart started to beat even faster as if there was neither enough space in his chest to satisfy it nor enough strenght to take it under control. Impossible to stop, rebellious heart. Eh, whose heart was it? ''You are always right.'' Right all the time and right again. Art was art and there were no certain boundaries or set up rules to study for it. So perhaps his momentary and spontaneous words of love and devotion could considered poetry. ''Practice makes perfect. No doubt about that. But someone is already perfect without the need of practice.'' 'And it is YOU she-snake!'

Then he opened his mouth to speak again...to reply her about being here forever yet there was apparently only one thing left to make the desire for her conquer his whole body and it was done when he took in her breathtaking smell. So unable to speak he closed his mouth and looking at her the lion boy swallowed a couple of times. He closed his eyes for a moment to take the fast beating heart and heavy breath under control. ''I think...maybe...we...'' no not this ''Let's have a short walk to the garden?''

Maybe she was right? Hehe, of course she was right. In her mind that is. Hmm, and he even said she was right. Not just right, of course, but always right. Regardless if that was true or not, she was feeling pretty good right now.

Raising a brow in amusement, she stared at him for a moment in silence before a small, quiet giggle escaped her. Barely long enough to be even considered as a laugh. "I know you're the Master of Everything Josh, but really now..." Hehe. Who was he talking about anyways?

Hmm and just as she was all comfy with the moment and such, the girl frowned as she gazed at her Gryffindor's face. Something wrong? Her smile faded just a tad, before he started to speak.
